Start Up****************************C4************************************ Firstly, you must begin by turning on the Nintendo 3DS console. In the 3DS Menu, go and find the orange-background camera icon labeled "Nintendo 3DS Camera". Open the application to begin. Please note that all suspended software must be closed beforehand. 5. Taking Photos****************************C5******************************* You will immediately start up at the "Take Pictures" menu. You will see several things. Firstly, on the top screen, you'll be shown the current picture framed by the camera(s). You start on the outer one. You can switch to the inner one by tapping the top-central button of the Touch Screen. Please note that only the outside cameras are capable of 3D photos; the inner camera only takes 2D, similarly to most cameras, phones, and the Nintendo DSi consoles. Still on the top screen, you'll notice some more stuff. The top-left corner will show the number of photos remaining in your chosen place of storage - typically, the System Memory stores ~300. The top-right corner has a cube with "3D" on it. The cube lights up when the picture is 3D-enabled (ie. on the outer cameras) AND when the 3D slider is being used. Finally, the bottom-right corner will show an emblem. A DS-like icon shows that the chosen place of storage is the System Memory; an SD Card-like icon shows that the SD Card is preferred. Please note that, regardless of space, the SD Card can only store up to 3,000 photos. On the bottom screen, you'll see other stuff. You'll see some icons simply stating that the L, R, and A buttons, as well as tapping their respective icons, will trigger the camera. Other things are carried out in the other sections, except for the Parakeet - tap it to obtain various hints. For reference... 3D photos are of an MPO file format. 2D photos are JPEGs. If a photo is on the SD Card, it will be in the DCIM folder. Now then, to the meat of the stuff. Whenever you are taking a photo of something, a distance of at least 12 inches (~0.3 meters) is optimal for clarity and sufficient light. Being too close results in blurry, darkened photos, while moving objects also blur. For 3D photos, 39 inches (~1.0 meters) is the maximum and will produce a vivid 3D photo. For these 3D photos, try to have something in the distance for the picture background to produce an even more vivid effect. 6. Viewing Taken Photos****************************C6************************ (Shortest section in FAQ, I bet.) To look at your photos, simply go and tap the "View Photos" button on the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can view, edit, copy, and delete them here. You can also do this with a computer and SD Card. 7. Various Effects****************************C7***************************** In the "Take Photos" menu, you will see a lever in the bottom-right corner of the Touch Screen. Tap it and move it to the right to bring up some more options. - Camera Mode (left button) - Normal: No special effects. - Sparkle: Use the Mic to create various effects. - Merge: Line up pictures with the inside and outside cameras and merge the pictures. - Dream: Adds a hazy, dreamy quality to photos. - Low Light: Brightens picture. Good for nocturnal pictures. - Pinhole: Darkens photo edges. - Mystery: ??? - Manual Controls: - Film: Cause photos be normal, black-and-white, sepias, negatives, or solarized. - Sharpness: Is everything distinctive or blurry? - Contrast: Can you more easily see differences in colors? - Brightness: How bright is the photo? - 3D Camera Adjustment (middle button) - Using the analog pad, align the cameras. Up/Down is zoom in/out. Left and right align the image - Timer (right button) - Have a picture-taking delay of three or ten seconds, or just take it when you say "OK!". 8. Photo Album Stuff****************************C8*************************** In the Photo Album, press a photo twice to bring up a mini-menu. There is a Graffiti button to add random stuff, such as colors, stamps, and 3D stamp effects (mainly for 2D photos). You can also use the copying option to bring it to/from an SD Card, or just trash the photo. If you press the dated folders, you can put all the photos taken on that date into the folder to make looking through the photos easier. Press the +/- buttons on the screen to change the number of objects shown on each page. Press the button on the top of the screen to play a slideshow of the photos. You play the photos in order or randomly. You can move the parakeet to go along the show forward or backward. You can change the show theme (ie. game photos). You can also change the settings. 9. Settings Menu****************************C9******************************* Non-Slideshow Settings: - Save Location: Are photos you take immediately saved to the System Memory (~300 photos) or an SD Card (up to 3,000 photos)? - Attention Sound: Before taking a photo, what kind of sound is made to get someone's attention? - Info Display: Do you want to display various info on the top screen? - Usage Tips: Read the hints given to you by the parakeet. - Data Management: Copy and delete photos in bulk. - Interface Color: Change the color of the bars, like the bottom bar. Slideshow Settings: - Music: What music is played during the slideshow? Can be Vintage, Pop, Funk, Fantasy, Ceremonial, Jazz, Ballad, Chilled, or none. - Zoom: Do you see all of the photo (off) or just part (on)? - Duration: For how long do you get to see the photos? Can be 3 seconds, 10 seconds, one minute, three minutes, or rapid (about .75 seconds). - Transition: How do the photos change? Can be randomized, shutter, dissolve, page turn, or wash. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ +++ +++ This is the end of KeyBlade999's +++ +++ Nintendo 3DS Camera FAQ. +++ +++ +++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ________________ | ____________ | | | | | | | | | | |____________| |________________________________________ | |____________| |_________________________ | | | | | | |\ /\ /| | | | | | | | \ / \ / | | | |____________| | | | (_) (_) | | |________________| |_| |_| ___ ___ ___ /'__`\ /'__`\ /'__`\ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \ \_\ \ \_\ \ \_\ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ KeyBlade999
