These dungeons are semi-randomly generated: each dungeon has several key locations throughout the dungeon, and they always occur in the same order. However, the actual direction to go from one spot to the next is changed up, so that in one playthrough of a dungeon you might go northeast-northwest- northeast, while in another playthrough you may go northeast-southeast- southwest. As a result, this guide does not give you agonising detail of where to go all the time - instead, step-by-step directions with relative details are given, such as "Walk along until you come to a ship. Walk along until you come to a Waystone. Walk along until you come to a cells area." From time to time, depending on how awry the semi-random generating is, you may get off course a bit from these directions. These step-by-step directions give explicit help on solving each quest in each dungeon. Additionally, an overview of each quest and how to do it is given at the end of each dungeon listing. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Area One - Coral Tombs =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [A1CT] ---------------- THE REEF OF RUIN ---------------- •After completing Quest 1 and getting Quest 2 from Doctor Skalding, talk to Solon. •Break the barricade with the B button attack and then a B button charge. •Continue on until you get to your first Waystone. If you should die in this dungeon and continue, you will start at the last Waystone you were at. •Progress some more until you get up to the second Waystone. •Talk to Mia Moursey shortly thereafter to Complete Quest 2, as well as obtain Quest 4. •You can backtrack at this point in the level and kill off enough Brine Imps to get 6 Imp Ears for Quest 4, then come back to Mia Moursey to complete Quest 4. •Continue on from where Mia is (or was in the event you complete Quest 4) until you get to the ruins of a ship. Examine the chest on the ship to activate Quest 5. •Head along the ship to spot a Thieving Imp (red skinned imp). Defeat it and it shall drop a Pirate Treasure Key. Take it back to the treasure chest to unlock it. •There is nothing more of interest throughout the main section of the dungeon, so continue until you hit the third Waystone. •Here, you will be prompted to take on a couple of waves of Ickthid Scavengers and Ickthid Bruisers. Once they have all been defeated, Quest 3 is completed automatically. •After the others arrive, pick up any remaining item drops and then examine the blue sparkles to exit the dungeon. Quest 1: Drift Splint --------------------- Conditions: Find 3 pieces of Usable Driftwood Reward: LV1 Doctor's Kit (Trinket), 58XP, 30 Gold Talk to Doctor Skalding near the beginning of the level. Go to the shoreline of the beach and use the L button while wandering along the water on the pieces of wood with blue sparkles around them. Return to Doctor Skalding and talk to him once you have all three pieces of Usable Driftwood required. Quest 2: Missing in Action -------------------------- Prerequisites: Complete Quest 1, Drift Splint Conditions: Find the missing passenger, Mia Moursey Reward: LV1 Random Necklace, 62XP, 45 Gold Speak with Doctor Skalding after completing Quest 1, Drift Splint. Quest 3: Lost ------------- Conditions: Complete the area Reward: LV1 Favor of the Honored Prince (Trinkey), 104XP, 150 Gold Talk to Solon at the start of the Reef of Ruin area, and he gives you this quest. The quest automatically concludes once you finish the area up. Quest 4: Spellcraft ------------------- Prerequisites: Complete Quest 2, Missing in Action Conditions: Collect 6 Imp Ears Reward: LV2 Random Necklace, 111XP, 225 Gold Once you find Mia Moursey and complete Quest 2, talk to Mia again to get this quest. Continue throughout the dungeon and Brine Imps will occasionally drop Imp Ears, which you pick up using the L button like any other button. Return to Mia once you have 6 Imp Ears to complete the quest. Quest 5: Sunken Treasure ------------------------ Conditions: Find the key for the locked treasure chest on the ship Reward: LV1 Class-specific Weapon, 77XP After examining the treasure chest and getting the quest, continue on from where the treasure was going towards the end of the level to spot a Thieving Imp (red skinned imp). Defeat it and it shall drop a Pirate Treasure Key. Take it back to the treasure chest to unlock it. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to Prince Adrian to get Quest 6. He marks down your destination point on the map for you. •Move up the stairs and talk to Prince Solon to get Quest 7 and access to the next area. •Proceed west and talk to Silas the Merchant, who is represented on the mini-map by a blue icon. He shall give you Quest 8. •Take note of the four green icons on the mini-map. These four icons represent four equipment merchants, each of them for a specific Class. From right to left, the four merchants sell equipment for Gunslingers, Vindicators, Savages and Alchitects. You can visit each merchant and sell off your excess equipment to them, but only your respective Class merchant can sell you equipment you can actually use. You can also 'Reserve' equipment (have it set aside to be in stock next time you visit) as equipment stores are constantly changed out. •The red and yellow icons interspersed between the four green icons (merchants) are a potions merchant and accessories merchant respectively. Given the excess of potions drops, you will probably not ever need to visit the Potions shop. •To the far southwest corner are two more shops. The first one, the Valor Shop, sells extremely high level weapons using Valor, accumulated by doing the online quests. The other is a Trader's Network, who can sell your weapons on the online network, and similarly sell weapons to you sold by other players. •South from where the Vindicator merchant is, you can find The Brew Master, indicated by a blue ! mark on the mini-map near the south exit. Talk to him to get Quest 9, Hungry Hungry Hippode. •While you can converse with the various NPCs in the hub of Nexus, there is only one relevant detail to attend to - head up to the northeast corner of Nexus, where the castle gates are, and see Ataraxis the Sphinx to complete Quest 6. •Once finished, move back to the docks and talk to Captain Staruk, indicated by the yellow diamond on the map (you need to have spoken with Prince Solon first). He will give you transport to the Spawning Pools. Quest 6: Fallen Lord -------------------- Conditions: Go see the slumbering Ataraxis Reward: 51XP Talk to Prince Adrian where you enter Nexus from at the docks to get the quest. He will mark Ataraxis' spot for you in the northeast corner of the Nexus map. Go and use the L button on Ataraxis to finish the quest. -------------- SPAWNING POOLS -------------- •Move forward until you see a yellow exclamation mark icon (!) on the map and examine a Glowing Missive in the water to get Quest 10. •Near where you spot the Glowing Missive, there should be four geysers surrounded by fungi. In order, examine the geyser with purple fungi, then yellow, then blue and finally red to take down a nearby coral wall. •Move along until such time that you find the first Waystone along with a lab. •Examine the lab area. There should be a Crate of Potions which you can take back to Silas in Nexus to complete Quest 8. Additionally, there will be 5 Clues littered about the area indicated by blue sparkles both on the mini-map and the overfield. •Continue along deeper into the dungeon. Along the way, you may notice several statues. Ignore them, until you get to an Engraved Stone Slab. Examine the Slab for Quest 11, and then the nearby Ornate Statue. Look at the precise pose the statue is. •Move to where the four smaller grey stone statues are (they may be further ahead). Examine each of them with the L button until all four of them are in the precise same pose as the Ornate Statue is in (the Ornate Statue has 3 different poses with outstretched arms, so you need to get the right pose). If none of them have the right pose, the Ornate Statue will say "None of my disciples are prepared." •Once all four statues are in position, talk to the Ornate Statue and you will have to fight an Ancient Tibur. Quest 11 concludes with its defeat. •Proceed deeper into the dungeon. If you happen to have all the items required for Quest 9, Hungry, Hungry Hippode (4x Turtle Meat, 4x Crab Legs, 2x Ickthid Eyes), then at whatever split comes up, move AWAY from the ! icon that represents the next spot point for Quest 7. You should eventually come to a lake in the dungeon. Examine the Bubbling Water with all your items in tow to fight a Hippode. Once you have defeated it, there is no need to pick up any items. You must wait until you return to Nexus to be able to talk to the Brew Master to complete the quest. •Move ahead until you get to the second Waystone. •After the Waystone, examine the Half Eaten Body. A Hellmouth boss will appear, triggering Quest 12. •In fighting the Hellmouth, stay away from it long-range if you can (if your Class is long-range). Hit it until it either starts to block with an energy shield or rears back. In the former case, quickly charge up a Stun attack to break through its block and then continue wailing away at it. If it rears back, quickly press the R button to block against its own attack, which can Stun you. Remember to heal up when you need to. Killing it completes Quest 12. •Examine the Hidden Message after defeating the Hellmouth to finally finish The Missing Mage, Quest 7. •To leave the dungeon, return to the second Waystone near where you just fought the Hellmouth and activate it to return to Nexus. Remember to defeat the Hippode for Quest 9 if you have not yet done so. Quest 7: The Missing Mage ------------------------- Conditions: Find Eckhardt's Lab, then find 5 Clues in Eckhardt's Lab Reward: 320XP, 200 Gold Talk to Prince Solon once you get to Nexus and he will give you both this quest and access to the Spawning Pools. In the Spawning Pools, make your way to Eckhardt's Lab, then find the 5 Clues around the lab (indicated by blue sparkles). Continue on through the dungeon. After you defeat the Hellmouth, read the Hidden Message to finish up the quest. Quest 8: Need More Pots ----------------------- Conditions: Find a Crate of Potions, Deliver the Create to Silas Reward: LV3 Everthirst Flask, 300XP, 150 Gold Talk to Silas the Merchant once you get to Nexus to get this quest. Once you get to the Spawning Pools, make your way to Eckhardt's Lab, and search around. Interspersed amove the 5 Clues is a Crate of Potions. Once you return to Nexus, talk to Silas again to complete the quest. Quest 9: Hungry, Hungry Hippode ------------------------------- Conditions: Find 4 Turtle Meat, 4 Crab Legs, 2 Ickthid Eyes, Summon a Hippode, Defeat the Hippode, Report to the Brew Master Reward: LV3 Random Shoulders, 336XP, 450HP Talk to The Brew Master near the south entrance of Nexus to first obtain this quest. In the Spawning Pools, kill the Snapper, Crab and Ickthid enemies to respectively get Turtle Meat, Crab Legs and Ickthid Eyes until you have all items required. You should eventually come to a lake in the dungeon, though this may be on a split path going away from the main road. Examine the Bubbling Water with all your items in tow to fight a Hippode. Once you have defeated it, there is no need to pick up any items. Talk to the Brew Master once you return to Nexus to complete your quest. Quest 10: Access Denied ----------------------- Conditions: Bring down the coral wall Reward: 336XP Shortly after you enter the Spawning Pools, you should find a Glowing Missive in a small stream that gives you this quest. Thereafter, you should be blocked by a coral wall. Look around to find four geysers with fungi around them. In order, examine the geyser with purple fungi, then yellow, then blue and finally red to take down the coral wall. Quest 11: Lost in the Ebb of Time --------------------------------- Conditions: Unlock the entrance to a chamber Reward: LV3 Relic of Agmera, 284XP Continue through the dungeon until you get to an Engraved Stone Slab. Examine the Slab for Quest 11, and then the nearby Ornate Statue. Look at the precise pose the statue is. Move to where the four smaller grey stone statues are (they may be further ahead). Examine each of them with the L button until all four of them are in the precise same pose as the Ornate Statue is in (the Ornate Statue has 3 different poses with outstretched arms, so you need to get the right pose). If none of them have the right pose, the Ornate Statue will say "None of my disciples are prepared." Once all four statues are in position, talk to the Ornate Statue and you will have to fight an Ancient Tibur. Quest 11 concludes with its defeat. Quest 12: Shark Attack ---------------------- Conditions: Defeat the Hellmouth Reward: 320XP After examining the Half Eaten Body following the second Waystone, this boss appears. To fight the Hellmouth, stay away from it long-range if you can (if your Class is long-range). Hit it until it either starts to block with an energy shield or rears back. In the former case, quickly charge up a Stun attack to break through its block and then continue wailing away at it. If it rears back, quickly press the R button to block against its own attack, which can Stun you. Remember to heal up when you need to. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to Prince Solon and he will give you access to the Marauders' Hideaway along with Quest 13. •Talk to Silas to finish up Quest 8. •Talk to The Brew Master to conclude Quest 9. •North of where the Vindicator salesman is, talk to Taskmaster Rowe for Quest 14. •Examine the poster on the wall right next to Taskmaster Rowe for Quest 15. •Sell off your less useful drops and pick up any equipment you think handy, then talk to Captain Staruk again in the docks (once you have Quest 13 from Prince Solon) to move to the Marauders' Hideaway. ------------------- MARAUDERS' HIDEAWAY ------------------- •As soon as you enter the Marauders' Hideaway, open your quest menu. Highlight the cursor over Quest 15, Wanted! For Piracy and Murder, and select it with the A button to make it the 'active' quest. For some reason of game design, a few quests _might_ not start until you make it the active quest, which unless you manually toggle it to be active, would not be until it is the active quest by default (after finishing up other quests that come first). Either that, or they are active but the objects of the quest do not show up on the mini-map. Most quests are always on, even if not toggled as the 'active' quest. •Continue on, and you should soon find Trapjaw, the first of the three pirates for Quest 15. He is represented on the map by a red icon. •The first Waystone shall be located near Trapjaw. •Proceed through an area with the floor mostly caved in and you should locate the Medals for Quest 15 while heading through. •Head deeper into the dungeon until you get further into the dungeon, eventually reaching an area with many stairs and circular slab floors. Search around here to find the Crate for Quest 15. •Eventually, you should reach a cells area. Talk to Eckhardt who is located in one of the cells to finish Quest 13. He shall give you Quest 16. •Navigate your way around the cells to come to the second Waystone of the dungeon. •The Cask for Quest 15 should be located near the Waystone. •Similarly, the Ingredients for Quest 15 should be found slightly deeper into the dungeon, down a dead end path from a split. •You should soon thereafter reach another area with multiple stairs and circular slabs. Search around to find the Tibur Jailor enemy, who upon its defeat shall drop the Jailor Key. •Continue searching around this area, and you will find the pirate Blackfin for Quest 15, who is accompanied by a Hippode. Once Blackfin has been slain, White Eye will drop down from above to fight you as well. Kill him as well. •Return to the cells area where Eckhardt is being imprisoned. Talk to him once to rescue him and complete Quest 16, then talk to him a second time to activate Quest 17. •Move forward in the dungeon again past the area where you executed the Tibur Jailor, Hippode, Blackfin and White Eye. You should quickly get to a third Waystone. •Examine the Blocked Passage, and use the Whistle to pass. You will then have to take on the Bandit King. •The Bandit King throws bombs in the air for a short distance, so use your R button roll constantly to get around him. Let him attack, either blocking his close-quarters attacks or rolling in the case of the bombs, and then pound away at him. He will be quick to put up his own guard, and put it up again fast as soon as you break it with a charged attack, so it may be best to simply block and then counter-attack to whittle his HP down in the few seconds between his attacking and his putting his guard back up again. The Bandit King will also occasionally call in allies - for the first set of tougher enemies, go to the northwest corner where there is a Ruinburst of Speed. Use it to speed up your character and run circles around the new additions to the battle, killing them before focusing on the Bandit King once more. •After defeating the Bandit King, open the treasure chest. •Talk to Katrina to wrap up Quest 17. You can also return to Nexus right as you talk to her. Quest 13: Rescue Me ------------------- Conditions: Locate and rescue Eckhardt Reward: LV5 Random Boots, 676XP Talk to Prince Solon while in Nexus to obtain this mission. In the Marauders' Hideout, walk through the dungeon until you manage to locate the cells region, then talk to Eckhardt to complete the quest. Quest 14: Save Our Swag ----------------------- Conditions: Locate Ingredients, Locate Medals, Locate a Cask, Locate a Crate, Return all four items to Taskmaster Rowe Reward: 633XP, 525 Gold Talk to Taskmaster Rowe in Nexus, located just north of the Vindicator merchant. Inside the Marauders' Hideout, locate the following four items: the Medals, found in an area with a caved-in floor right after the first Waystone; the Crate, in one of the areas with multiple stairs and circular slabs, shortly after the Medals; the Cask, found right next to the second Waystone; the Ingredients, found slightly after the second Waystone on a dead end path. Return to Taskmaster Rowe once in Nexus to complete the quest. Quest 15: Wanted! For Piracy and Murder --------------------------------------- Conditions: Defeat Trapjaw, Defeat Blackfin, Defeat White Eye, Talk to Captain Rutgren in Nexus after defeating all three Rewards: LV5 Random Trinkey, 629XP, 375 Gold In Nexus, examine the Wanted Poster on the wall to the right of Taskmaster Rowe (just north of the Vindicator merchant) to obtain this quest. As soon as you enter the Marauders' Hideaway, open your quest menu. Highlight the cursor over Quest 15, Wanted! For Piracy and Murder, and select it with the A button to make it the 'active' quest. Trapjaw, who shall be indicated by a red icon on the map, can be located just before the first Waystone of the Marauders' Hideout. After the second Waystone of the area, you should come to an area with many stairs and circular slab platforms. Search around to find Blackfin, accompanied by a Hippode. After killing Blackfin, White Eye will drop down from above to fight you. Once all three are dead and you have returned to Nexus, talk to Captain Rutgren, located in Nexus right where the Wanted Poster was to wrap up the quest. Quest 16: The Key to Freedom ---------------------------- Conditions: Get the Jailor Key, Return to Eckhardt Reward: LV5 Random Torso, 676XP After the second Waystone of the area, you should come to an area with many stairs and circular slab platforms. Search around to find the Tibur Jailor, and kill him to get the Jailor Key as a drop. Return to the cells region and talk to Eckhardt to finish the quest. Quest 17: Not Without My Daughter --------------------------------- Conditions: Defeat the Bandit King, Talk to Katrina Reward: LV5 Random Ring, 748XP, 200 Gold After Quest 13, Rescue Me, has been completed, talk to Eckhardt again to get this quest. Continue on in the dungeon up to the third Waystone and use the Whistle to cross the river, where you must fight the Bandit King. The Bandit King throws bombs in the air for a short distance, so use your R button roll constantly to get around him. Once the Bandit King has been slain, talk to Katrina to wrap up the quest. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to the Anxious Woman down by the docks to trigger Quest 18. •Speak with Prince Solon to start Quest 19 and access to The Deep dungeon. •Go chat with Eckhardt, right next to Prince Solon, for Quest 20 to be activated. •Converse with Katrina for Quest 21 to start. •Go see Taskmaster Rowe, north of the Vindicator merchant, to wrap up Quest 14. •Talk with Captain Rutgren right next to Taskmaster Rowe to finish up Quest 15. •Offload your equipment drops and pick up some new equipment as needed, then talk to Captain Staruk at the docks to enter The Deep. -------- THE DEEP -------- •Examine the Treasure Map at the start to get Quest 22. •Move foward from the lake to find your first Captured Sailor. •Shortly thereafter is the first Living Weapon, so kill it. •Continue through until you make it to a cells area. Once you make it through the cells, one of the short dead end paths right after exiting will give you the first Hidden Key of the dungeon for Quest 22. •Backtrack to the entrance of the cells area, and move SLOWLY back to the entrance. Keep an eye on the walls - just outside the entrance to the cells, you should notice a crypt area with walls that have skulls littered across the place. Search around this area and you should find the second Hidden Key of the dungeon for Quest 22 (the blue sparkles may be difficult to see if it is on the south side of the screen in a wall). •Head to the cells again and past it. Move along until you fight the second Living Weapon. •Search around the splits going off the platform with the octopus symbol from where you fought the second Living Weapon. Nearby, there should be a second Captured Sailor to free. •From where the second Living Weapon was, move along the passageway that starts off with PLANKS (not the path going across solid ground to start). You will eventually come to the third Captured Sailor in an area with collapsed flooring. •Continue to activate the first Waystone of the dungeon. •Progress again until you come onto a ship. Move around until you encounter an enemy, Captain Skullrot. Once defeated, pick up the Captain's Log. •Head along again. Take note of the Pirate Treasure Chest, which you cannot open until you get the third Hidden Key. •Activate the second Waystone you see, then take on the Tibur Hornblower and two Helljaws. Grab the Conch Horn off the ground. •Move back to where the second Living Weapon was (you can tell by the octopus symbol in the floor), and go across the path with solid ground that is new, unexplored territory. You shall eventually find a third Living Weapon. •Do a walk-around of the area near the third Living Weapon to find a fourth Captured Sailor. •Continue along deeper into the dungeon, where you should soon find a fifth and final Captured Sailor. •Progress further to find and defeat the fourth and final Living Weapon, concluding the in-dungeon conditions for Quest 21. •Look around the perimeter of the arena where you fought the fourth Living Weapon. Break any seashells you spot. You should find a blue sparkle indicating the third Hidden Key. •Backtrack and head off to where the Pirate Ship is. Open the Pirate Treasure Chest here to finish Quest 22 and get a LV7 weapon for your Class. •Return to where the fourth Living weapon was. Head along some more until you come to an open area with a big Conch Horn. •Activate the third and final Waystone, then use the L button to blow into the Conch Horn and summon the Leviathan for a boss battle. •The Leviathan has a number of attacks to start with. First, it can spray a bunch of water from its mouth that is aimed directly at you. Second, it will do a sweep of the cavern from left to right with this same water attack - however, it falls just shy of the edges of the cavern, so if you run to the entrance to this area, you can dodge the attack. The Leviathan is also capable of diving underwater and spitting multiple blasts of water into the air - yellow light shines down on the area where the water blasts are about to fall, so get to safe ground when it goes underwater. Once you have whittled the Leviathan down to half its HP, it will go underwater, and bring its four tentacles up. The tentacles can spit out green goop, which you must press B multiple times to escape if you get caught in it, and purple goop, which poisons. If you move in close, they can also hit you physically. Once all four tentacles have been damaged, the Leviathan will emerge from the water, and the four tentacles will break out of the ground. The Leviathan will be invincible from now on as long as all four tentacles are out, so take out one tentacle to make the Leviathan mortal for a small amount of time. Attack it, and repeat defeating tentacles as needed to finally finish off the Leviathan. •After, pick up your treasure rewards, then head to the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 18: Ransom Rescue ----------------------- Conditions; Rescue the 5 Sailors, talk to the Anxious Woman in Nexus therafter Reward: LV7 Random Belt, 1081XP, 600 Gold Talk to the Anxious Woman who you can find on the docks in Nexus to get this quest. The first Captured Sailor in The Deep can be found near the entrance. The second one will be found near the second Living Weapon. The third one can be found in an area with collapsed flooring just shy of the ship. The fourth sailor is nearby the third Living Weapon. The fifth sailor is near the fourth Living Weapon. Once you have rescued all five sailors, return to Nexus and talk to the Anxious Woman again to complete the quest. Quest 19: In Defense of Nexus ----------------------------- Conditions: Slay the Leviathan Reward: LV7 Random Class Weapon, 1126XP Talk to Solon in Nexus to get this quest started. Quest 19 requires only that you kill the Leviathan - all the exploration work leading up to the Leviathan is part of Quest 20. The Leviathan has a number of attacks to start with. When all four tentacles have been damaged, the Leviathan will emerge from the water, and the four tentacles will break out of the ground. The Leviathan will be invincible from now on as long as all four tentacles are out, so take out one tentacle to make the Leviathan mortal for a small amount of time. Attack it, and repeat defeating tentacles as needed to finally finish off the Leviathan. Quest 19 is automatically concluded once the Leviathan perishes. Quest 20: Death from Below -------------------------- Conditions: Get conch horn, Retrieve song from the pirate captain, Summon the Leviathan Reward: LV7 Random Shoulders, 1495XP Speak to Eckhardt in Nexus after you have already spoken to Prince Solon. Eckhardt will give you this quest. Inside The Deep, move around until you come across a pirate ship, and defeat the skeletal Captain Skullrot, and read the Captain's Log to get the song. Continue past the ship to fight a Hornblower and couple of Helljaws to find a small conch horn. Take a path opposite the way in the dungeon that lead to the Hornblower to eventually find a giant conch horn. Blow into this to summon the Leviathan, finishing the quest. Quest 21: Living Weapons ------------------------ Conditions: Destroy the 4 living weapons, return to Nexus and talk to Katrina Reward: LV7 Katrina's Lucky Charm, 912XP, 450Gold Talk to Katrina in Nexus to complete the quest. Inside The Deep, head along the path to fighting the Leviathan - every Living Weapon will be encountered without needing to stray off the main path to taking out the boss. Once finished, return to Nexus and chat with Katrina again to wrap up the quest. Quest 22: X Marks the Spot -------------------------- Conditions: Find the first key, Find the second key, Find the third key, Unlock the treasure chest Reward: 1081XP At the entrance to The Deep, examine the skeleton up against a wall to spot a Treasure Map. For the first Hidden Key, continue on until you come to a cell area. Get to the exit of the cells and look around on the dead ends for the first Hidden Key, indicated by blue sparkles. Backtrack to the entrance to the cells, and look at the walls until you come to an area with skulls in the walls. The second Hidden Key should be located here, though it may be hidden away in a southern wall. The third Hidden Key will be located where the fourth Living Weapon is (one of the areas with a circular slab platform in the middle of the flooring), again as a blue sparkle. You will need to destroy seashells to find the Hidden Key. With all three keys in your possession, return to where the ship is located in The Deep and open the Pirate Treasure Chest at the top of one end of the ship to finish the quest as well as get a weapon for your class type. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Area Two - Elder Forest =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [A2EF] ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to Eckhardt once the cutscene is over to get Quest 1 for the second area, Elder Forest. •Talk to Katrina nearby to finally wrap up Quest 21 for the first area. •Move over to the docks and talk to the Anxious Woman to finish up Quest 18 for the first area. •Offload your drops at the equipment stores and upgrade your equipment as needed. •Head west from the equipment stores and talk to the Harried Woodsman at the base of the stairs for Quest 2. •Continue west into the Industrial District (north of The Dregs) and proceed west still. •Talk to the Eccentric Merchant across the bridge to pick up Quest 3. •Finally, talk to Flint Merrin at the edge of the forest to be able to enter The Haunted Woods, the first dungeon of The Elder Forest. ----------------- THE HAUNTED WOODS ----------------- •Move along through a mostly linear path until you come to a wide open plains with a split. Take the path going downhill down a wide, ruined staircase. •You should come to a swamp that is the objective of Quest 2. Go over the dungeon's first Waystone. •Examine the Mysterious Glowing Skull in the centre. Take out the series of Wisp enemies that appear. Keep your distance if you are a long-ranged fighter as they shall explode when they get to low health. •Afterwards, head back up to the open field area. Take another ruined staircase going downhill until you come to the second Waystone of the Haunted Woods. •Proceed further, heading along past a fallen tree trunk to navigate your way across the ravine. You should eventually come to a large blue sparkle labeled Alpha Territory. •You should have by now gotten a Wolf Gland from fighting the numerous Wolf Mongrels in the forest. Press the L button in Alpha Territory to automatically use the Wolf Gland. When the Alpha Wolf shows up, get it to about a quarter of its health, but DO NOT KILL IT. When the screen prompts you to 'Capture Now', use the L button again to capture the Alpha Wolf. •Continue deeper into the dungeon until you finally find the ruins. •Use the third Waystone present here. Continue forth to face Marliel. •You will go through a very large number of Necroblaze Ghouls here. They will hit you with close combat attacks, so long-range fighters should keep their distance and spam specials while keeping their Energy up with Energy potions, and close-range fighters should of course also use some powerful Energy attacks. •Talk to Marliel thereafter. •Open the nearby treasure chest. •Head back to the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 1: Ghosts of Salvera -------------------------- Conditions: Find the ruins within The Haunted Woods, meet the Ghost Council, Talk to Eckhardt back in Nexus Reward: LV9 Random Necklade, 1976XP Talk to Eckhardt in Nexus to first get this quest. Inside The Haunted Forest, just hack and slash your way until you get near the end of the level and find the ruins. At the end, you shall go through a very large number of Necroblaze Ghouls. They will hit you with close combat attacks, so long-range fighters should keep their distance and spam specials while keeping their Energy up with Energy potions, and close-range fighters should of course also use some powerful Energy attacks. Once the battle is done and you have returned to Nexus, talk to Eckhardt to wrap up. Quest 2: Auora Forealis ----------------------- Conditions: Find a swamp, examine the skull, fight the Wisps, return the skull to the Woodsman Reward: LV9 Random Boots, 1674XP, 600 Gold Speak to the Harried Woodsman at the west end of the Merchant District in Nexus to first get this quest. Inside The Haunted Forest, at the first big clearing split up into a few paths, take one of the ruined staircases going downhill to find a swamp along with a Waystone. Examine the Mysterious Glowing Skull in the centre. Take out the series of Wisp enemies that appear. Keep your distance if you are a long-ranged fighter as they shall explode when they get to low health. When back in Nexus, talk to the Harried Woodsman again to finish the quest. Quest 3: Entrapment ------------------- Conditions: Find a Wolf Gland, use the Wolf Gland to lure out an Alpha Wolf and capture it, return to the Eccentric Merchant in Nexus Reward: LV9 Random Necklace, 1651XP, 900 Gold Talk to the Eccentric Merchant near where Flint Merrin is in the far west end of the Industrial District in Nexus to activate this quest. While going through the dungeon, you should have ample opportunity to take on Wolf Mongrel enemies. Eventually, at least one of them should drop a Wolf Gland. Pick it up. Later on, going down the main path, you should come to a large blue sparkle labeled Alpha Territory. After you have captured an Alpha Wolf, return to the Eccentric Merchant in Nexus to complete the quest. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to the Eccentric Merchant near the forest edge first to finish Quest 3. •Chat with Priscus the Artificer to the south in the Industral District for Quest 4. •Speak with Doctor Skalding to the north in the Industrial District to get Quest 5. •Talk with Eckhardt located right next to Doctor Skalding to conclude Quest 1 and get Quest 6 added to your Quest log. •Speak with the Harried Woodsman in the west end of the Merchant District to finish Quest 2. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to Flint Merrin and speak with him to enter The Forsaken Grove. ------------------ THE FORSAKEN GROVE ------------------ •While walking around, you should notice white statue-like cocoons sitting around. Fire at each of the white cocoon statues until one of them reveals a Hunter. Talk to him to get Quest 7, with one of seven hunters already rescued. •Head along until you get to an open space with several paths leading off. Only one of these paths goes anywhere, so once you find the passageway without a dead end, continue on. •You should spot your first Amber Golem soon enough. It will lumber slowly and attack at close quarters, so long range fighters should stay back and fire from afar while close range fighters should guard right before it attacks. It has extemely long refractory times in between each attack, giving you time to bash away at it. Getting behind an Amber Golem can allow you to cause them significant damage with a few hits. •There are two Waystones located around the dungeon. One of them will lead you to what is a dead end for now, while another one will lead you to Fironel, who will unleash a beast called Solrian on you. Quest 6 is completed in the process. •Solrian is a fairly simple beast that should not take too much trouble to defeat. He likes to move around a lot, so simply stick to one spot, fire at him if you have a long-range fighter, and block when he makes an attack at you. Compared to other bosses it should not take much difficulty to fend him off. •Talk to Solrian afterwards and examine the Faded Journal to complete Quest 6. •Speak with Solrian once more to active Quest 8. •Continue navigating The Forgotten Grove thereafter, though it can be a long slog through more Amber Golems. •Keep your eyes peeled on the ground for Golden Dragon Flowers, indicated by the blue sparkles. Pick up 6 of them in total - you should not have to backtrack as they can be found in abundance throughout the level. •Eventually, a few false paths aside, you should find a second Waystone. You may have stumbled across it before the Waystone next to the fight with Solrian: in which case, return there after exploring the rest of the level, getting your 5 Amber Cores and 10 Venom Sacs, and completed Quest 7 with freeing all 7 Hunters. •Inside, examine the Spider Queen's Web. Spreading the flowers will conclude Quest 9. •You will have to fend off a number of low-level spider enemies to start with. After comes the queen arachnid. •At the start of the battle, quickly mash the B button to escape the binding on your character. Celdria the Spider Queen wanders around the nest. Use the stump at the center as a guard to loop around her back end to whack at her, or hit her long distance if you are using either the Gunslinger or Alchitect. Celdria will also spit out goop at your character, some of which will merely damage, some of which will trap your fighter (but not damage him or her). In the case of the latter, press B to escape from Celdria. However, she does not take as much damage to take as earlier bosses like the Leviathan did, so she should go down for the count soon. •Talk to Celdria afterwards to finish Quest 8. She shall also give you Quest 10 for the next dungeon. •Collect your treasure from the treasure chest following the battle. •Head to the Waystone and return to Nexus. Quest 4: Amber Alert -------------------- Conditions: Collect 5 Amber Cores Reward: LV10 Random Class Weapon, 2019XP, 750 Gold Talk to Priscus the Artificer on the south side of the Industrial District in Nexus to obtain this quest. Inside The Forgotten Grove, go around to encounter Amber Golems as a random encounter. Getting behind an Amber Golem can allow you to cause them significant damage with a few hits. Take each one out to be able to collect an Amber Core. After you have five Amber Cores as is required, return to Nexus and talk to Priscus to complete the quest. Quest 5: Poison Cure -------------------- Conditions: Collect 10 Venom Sacs Reward: LV10 Random Gloves, 2019XP, 600 Gold Talk to Doctor Skalding on the north side of the Industrial District in Nexus to obtain this quest. Inside The Forgotten Grove, go around to encounter multiple variations of spiders as a random encounter. Take each one out to be able to collect multiple Venom Sacs. After you have ten Venom Sacs as is required, return to Nexus and talk to Doctor Skalding to complete the quest. NOTE: This is the only quest in the game which can be repeated, rather important as it can be very difficult to hit the level cap of Level 30 without either repeating this quest or playing online. Quest 6: Ancestral Tomb ----------------------- Conditions: Search the grove Reward: LV10 Random Torso, 1924XP Talk to Eckhardt on the north side of the Industrial District in Nexus to obtain this quest. Inside The Forgotten Grove, search around naturally and you should eventually come to a Waystone, and past the Waystone a church area with Fironel the dark elf inside. You must then fight Solrian. Solrian is a fairly simple beast that should not take too much trouble to defeat. He likes to move around a lot, so simply stick to one spot, fire at him if you have a long-range fighter, and block when he makes an attack at you. Compared to other bosses it should not take much difficulty to fend him off. Quest 7: Cocoon --------------- Conditions: Rescue all 7 Hunters from statue cocoons Reward: LV10 Random Torso, 2019XP, 1200 Gold While walking around at the start of the dungeon, you should notice white statue-like cocoons sitting around. Fire at each of the white cocoon statues until one of them reveals a Hunter. Talk to him to get Quest 7, with one of seven hunters already rescued. Continue to break every cocoon you come across, exploring the entire level if you must. The quest wraps up on its own once all 7 hunters have been found and rescued from their shell. Quest 8: Lair of the Spider Queen --------------------------------- Conditions: Locate the Spider Queen's Lair, Lure the Queen, Defeat the Queen Reward: LV10 Random Belt, 2883XP This quest automatically activates once you defeat Solrian and finish Quest 6. Explore around and you should find a second Waystone. You may have stumbled across it before the Waystone next to the fight with Solrian: in which case, return there after exploring the rest of the level. To finish up Quest 8, you must complete Quest 9 at the same time, and will be prompted to defeat the Spider Queen, Celdria. At the start of the battle, quickly mash the B button to escape the binding on your character. Quest 9: Beauty for the Beast ----------------------------- Conditions: Collect 6 Golden Dragon Flowers, scatter them in the Spider Queen's Lair Reward: ? This quest automatically activates once you defeat Solrian and finish Quest 6. Explore around and keep your eyes peeled on the ground for Golden Dragon Flowers, indicated by the blue sparkles. Pick up 6 of them in total - you should not have to backtrack as they can be found in abundance throughout the level. ----- NEXUS ----- •Head east from the forest entrance to the Industrial District and talk to Priscus the Artificer to finish up Quest 4. •Move north and talk to Doctor Skalding to wrap up Quest 5. Of special note is that Quest 5, Poison Cure, can be repeated, the only Quest in the game, which you can get simply by talking to him again. •Talk to Eckhardt right of Doctor Skalding. •Talk to Mia Moursey south of Eckhardt for Quest 11. •Examine the wanted poster to the left of Mia for Quest 12. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to Flint Merrin and speak with him to enter The Beastlands. -------------- THE BEASTLANDS -------------- •Talk to the nearby Celdria at the start to finish Quest 10. Celdria shall also give you Quest 13. •Speak with Solrian located right next to Celdria for Quest 14. •While wandering around The Beastlands, certain enemy encounters will allow you to finish Quest 11 and Quest 14. For Quest 11, any of the Primal-type enemies (Drones, Hulks, Fangbeasts) will drop the Primal Flesh required for the Quest. Much like the Amber Golmen, if you can get on their backside and hit them, they take far more damage than from their front. •For Quest 14, both the Ghouls and Wraiths will do for defeating 20 Undead. The Undead enemies seem to be an uncommon spawn, so you may need to wander around for a bit to hit that figure. Once 20 Undead have been killed, the Quest automatically finishes, with no need to go back and talk to Solrian. •Move along to discover a Bandit Corpse. Defeat Renald, then pick up the Jail Key. •Continue on, eventually coming to the first Waystone of The Beastlands. •Up ahead further on, you will eventually locate a second Waystone. •You will have to do a lot of wandering around from now. If you locate a third Waystone, ignore it. Instead, search around until you find Fironel and talk to her. This shall conclude Quest 13. •Talk to Celdria thereafter to activate Quest 15. •Wander around until you find a third Waystone, or return there if you have already located it. Once you do, go around the area and smash ten of the small skulls that are on the ground to trigger a battle with Michadele. •Michadele is more than just one of the Primal Beasts, as she can spit out green goop that will slow your character down, as well as extend her tongue out a long distance, grab a hold of your character with it, and draw you in close for an attack. Michadele will also rear up and slam down on the ground to hit you. Aside from that, she has no other attacks: however, occasionally she will burrow underground for awhile, while some Primal Runts that take only one or two hits to kill will come along to attack. •Talk to Michadele's ghost afterwards to complete Quest 15. •Speak with Celdria. Reject going to Kingdom's Grave first and instead take the third Waystone back to Nexus. Quest 10: The Beastlands ------------------------ Conditions: Speak to Celdria Reward: 2013XP This will be obtained at the conclusion of the previous area and wrapping up of Quest 8. Inside The Beastlands, talk to Celdria who is right next to the point you arrive at to finish the Quest. Quest 11: Pound of Flesh ------------------------ Conditions: Collect 3 Flesh Scraps, return to Mia Moursey in Nexus thereafter Reward: LV11 Random Ring, 2772XP, 750 Gold Talk to Mia Moursey in Nexus to get this quest granted to you. Throughout the level, search out and kill the Primal Drones, Primal Hulks and Primal Fangbeasts, and they shall drop the Flesh Scraps. Thereafter, return to Mia Moursey in Nexus to compelte the quest. Quest 12: What Remains ---------------------- Conditions: Find Renald, Obtain the Jail Key, Return the Jail Key to Jailor Brent in Nexus Reward: LV11 Random Trinket, 2216XP, 1050 Gold Examine the Wanted Poster in the Industrial District in Nexus to get this quest started. Inside the dungeon, go forth and you should find a Bandit Corpse shortly from the entrance. Examine it for Renald to resurrect himself. Kill him again and pick up the Jail Key. When you return to Nexus, talk to Jailor Brent, also located in the Industrial District where the Wanted Poster formerly was, to wrap this quest up. Quest 13: General Location -------------------------- Conditions: Find a clue of Michadele's location Reward: 2774XP You can obtain this quest by talking to Celdria at the very beginning of the dungeon. Walk around the dungeon for awhile, and in an outdoor area you should find Fironel standing on the side of a cliff. Talk to her to finish the quest. Quest 14: Mindless Autonomy --------------------------- Conditions: Kill 20 Undead Reward: LV11 Random Boots, 2318XP Speak with Solrian at the beginning of the dungeon to trigger the start of this quest. Walk around the area and off any Wraiths and Ghouls that you spot as they spawn. Once you kill 20 of them altogether, the quest automatically concludes. Quest 15: Primal Hostility -------------------------- Conditions: Smash 10 Skulls, Defeat Michadele Reward: LV11 Random Ring, 4030XP After you talk with Fironel to finish up Quest 13, Quest 15 automatically starts. Explore the dungeon until you find a third Waystone and a chamber. Destroy ten of the multiple skulls littered around the area to summon Michadele, the area boss. Michadele is more than just one of the Primal Beasts, as she can spit out green goop that will slow your character down, as well as extend her tongue out a long distance, grab a hold of your character with it, and draw you in close for an attack. Michadele will also rear up and slam down on the ground to hit you. Aside from that, she has no other attacks: however, occasionally she will burrow underground for awhile, while some Primal Runts that take only one or two hits to kill will come along to attack. ----- NEXUS ----- •Speak with Jailor Brent in the Industrial District to complete Quest 12. •Talk with Mia Moursey in the Industrial District to finish Quest 11. •Talk with Branston the Warlock on the west end of the Merchant District for Quest 17. •Speak with Vinache the Minstrel near the south entrance to the Merchant District for Quest 18. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to Flint Merrin and speak with him to enter Kingdom's Grave. --------------- KINGDOM'S GRAVE --------------- •Speak to Celdria to finish Quest 16 and get Quest 19. •Wander around and you can find the area's first Waystone, which you can use to return to Nexus if you took Celdria's offer to go right away to Kingdom's Grave. The path going down from this Waystone shall result in a dead end. If it opens up going inside a building, move away from it as there are a few other things to do. •Down another dead end will be a small grove with a tree in the middle. Examine the Tree Carving and you shall have to take on the Spirit of Telemnar, who can throw magic attacks which are on the weaker side of the enemies you have faced thus far. Afterwards, examine the Love Letters on the ground to continue Quest 18. •From where the grove is, continue on past it into a spider nest area. You should find a blue sparkle where you can use the Tome for Quest 17 on. You also need to use the correct incantation, or else you will get a bunch of enemies swarming you after you use the incantation. Unfortunately, I completely forgot which one it was ;) •Move around and explore Kingdom's Grave until you can locate the second Waystone of the dungeon. Enter the building inside to take on King Keltas. •Keltas starts off in a 'Normal Mode', where you will run around a lot, swiping his claws and smacking your around. He can also swipe his claws and send out short-range waves of energy for the entire battle, stunning you should you get caught in this attack. Block him when he gets close and rears back for a strike, then counter-attack him before blocking again once he moves to attack once more. After he loses about an eight of his health, he will get strength from the elven spirits around and gain an unblockable Charge attack. Roll out of the way when he starts charging around the field to avoid taking a massive amount of damage. Ignore the Phantom Elves that follow behind him, and wait until he starts to Charge. When he does, get behind one of the four pillars in the room, and draw him into smashing into them. After the four pillars are broken, his invincibility disappears. After Keltas loses some more HP, he will smash into the wall, causing a ring of fire to light up around the perimeter of the room. In this part of the battle, you must draw Keltas into charging into the fire by luring him and then rolling out of the way, then fire away at him until the fire dissipates off his body and he regains his invulnerability. Repeat trapping him in the fire until he finally falls. With the defeat of the bear, Quest 19 concludes. •Collect your treasure chest afterwards. •Speak with King Keltas afterwards. He shall give you Quest 20. •Head to the Waystone and return to Nexus. Quest 16: Kingdom's Grave ------------------------- Conditions: Talk to Celdria Reward: 2901XP Speak with Celdria at the beginning of the level to automatically finish the quest. Quest 17: Results May Vary -------------------------- Conditions: Test a spell Incantation Reward: LV12 Random Boots, 2742XP, 1200 Gold Speak with Branston the Warlock on the west end of the Industrial District to first get this quest. Inside the area, once you get to the grove where Quest 18 finishes, head past the grove into a spider nest area. You should find a blue sparkle where you can use the Tome for the quest on. You also need to use the correct incantation, or else you will get a bunch of enemies swarming you after you use the incantation. Unfortunately, I completely forgot which one it was ;). Once you return to Nexus, speak with Branston again to wrap things up. Quest 18: Detached Devotion --------------------------- Conditions: Discover evidence for Lianelle's choice Reward: LV12 Random Boots, 2846XP, 1200 Gold Speak with Vinache the Minstrel on the south end of the Industrial District to first get this quest. Down a dead end close to the start of the level will be a small grove with a tree in the middle. Examine the Tree Carving and you shall have to take on the Spirit of Telemnar, who can throw magic attacks which are on the weaker side of the enemies you have faced thus far. Afterwards, examine the Love Letters on the ground. Once you return to Nexus, speak with Vinache again to wrap things up. Quest 19: Save the King ----------------------- Conditions: Defeat the Eldritch Bear Reward: LV12 Keepsake of Salvera, 4485XP After you conclude Quest 16, Celdria will automatically give you this quest. Make your way through the level, exploring until you find a Waystone next to a building. Inside, you will take on King Keltas in the form of an Eldritch Bear. Keltas starts off in a 'Normal Mode', where you will run around a lot, swiping his claws and smacking your around. He can also swipe his claws and send out short-range waves of energy for the entire battle, stunning you should you get caught in this attack. Block him when he gets close and rears back for a strike, then counter-attack him before blocking again once he moves to attack once more. After Keltas loses about an eight of his health, he will get strength from the elven spirits around and gain an unblockable Charge attack. Once Keltas loses some more HP, he will smash into the wall, causing a ring of fire to light up around the perimeter of the room. Quest 20: The Tome of Ataraxis ------------------------------ Conditions: Bring the Tome from Keltas to Eckhardt in Nexus Reward: 3480XP, 750 Gold Speak to Keltas' ghost after defeating him in his bear form to get this quest. The quest automatically concludes as soon as you head back to Nexus via usage of a Waystone. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Area Three - Frost Reaches =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [A3FR] ----- NEXUS ----- •Quest 20 will be automatically concluded following a cutscene. •Talk to King Marcus. He shall give you access to the Frost Reaches area for the next set of dungeons, along with Quest 1. •Down the staircase in the Noble District, speak to Mia Moursey next to the fountain for Quest 2. •Move south into the Merchant District and speak with Vinache to wrap up Quest 18 from the area prior. •Speak with Branston on the west side of the Merchant District to conclude Quest 17 from the Kingdom's Grave dungeon. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Move to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. -------------- THE PERMAFROST -------------- •Talk to Old Man Miller at the start for Quest 3. •As you wander through the Permafrost, you will be attacked by Frost Imps, Wisps, and many types of Gargoyle enemies. Each Gargoyle enemy, no matter the type, counts towards the total of 20 Gargoyles required to be killed for Quest 3. Once you have slain 20, the quest is automatically given without needing to return to Old Man Miller. •The Mystic Ice for Quest 2 can be rather difficult to spot when bashing your way through endless enemies. The crystals are off to the sides against the walls of the route going through the Permafrost, and are light blue in colour, with the telltale blue sparkles around them indicating their importance. There are not that many in the level, so keep your eyes out for them. •Continue along what is a mostly linear path (paths leading onto dead ends are fairly short) until you hit the first Waystone. •From then on, the path up to a Curious Obelisk should be fairly linear still, with only a few short side routes to take you off the trail. Once you get to the Obelisk, examine it to receive Quest 4. •From where the Obelisk is, move around. One of the paths splitting off from it should lead you into Ataraxis' workshop. The second Waystone of the dungeon will be activated automatically. After defeating multiple Goblin Scavengers, Quest 1 and Quest 4 shall both be completed automatically, and you will also receive Quest 5. •Inside the workshop, walk around and examine the four objects with blue sparkles around them: the potion shelf, work bench, writing desk and bedside chest. •After, use the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 1: Ataraxis' Workshop --------------------------- Conditions: Find Ataraxis' Workshop Reward: 4409XP Talk to King Marcus once you first enter the Frost Reaches part of the game to get this quest. Inside The Permafrost, muddle along until you reach the Curious Obelisk. Examine it (receiving Quest 4) and walk around from the Obelisk to find Ataraxis' Workshop. Quest 1 wraps up after defeating several Goblin Scavengers. Quest 2: Sub-Zero ----------------- Conditions: Collect 5 Mystic Ice, return it to Mia Moursey in Nexus Reward: LV13 Random Ring, 3586XP, 1800 Gold Talk to Mia Moursey to initiate this quest. Inside The Permafrost, look to the sides of the fields and passageways to see blue crystals, specifically the ones that sparkle blue. They are fairly rare, so you may need to backtrack around to find 5. Upon obtaining 5 Mystic Ice, return to Nexus and chat with Mia to complete the quest. Quest 3: Damned Bats! --------------------- Conditions: Slay 20 Gargoyles Reward: LV13 Random Boots, 3833XP, 1050 Gold At the beginning of The Permafrost, talk to Old Man Miller who is standing around to get the quest. Go through the dungeon and kill off the various different Gargoyle enemy types. Once you have slain 20 in total, the quest automatically wraps up. Quest 4: Vision Impaired ------------------------ Conditions: Find the path Reward: 4186XP Inside The Permafrost, muddle along until you reach the Curious Obelisk. Examine it to obtain Quest 4 and walk around from the Obelisk to find Ataraxis' Workshop. After defeating several Goblin Scavengers, Quest 4 is automatically finished. Quest 5: Unhappy Revelation --------------------------- Conditions: Examine the bedside chest, writing desk, work bench, and the potion shelf, then report back to Marcus in Nexus Reward: LV13 Random Boots, 3308XP, 750 Gold Quest 5 comes right after you finish Quests 1 and 4. Go around Ataraxis' Workshop and examine the bedside chest, writing desk, work bench and potion shelf that are located all around the workshop. Once you return to Nexus, talk to King Marcus to wrap things up. ----- NEXUS ----- •Speak with Mia Moursey south of the fountain in the Noble District to complete Quest 2. •Talk to King Marcus on the east end of the Noble District to finally wrap up Quest 5, and get Quest 6 in the process. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. ------------ THE RIMEFELL ------------ •Move up to the Makeshift Barricade and use a charged attack on it to attempt to destroy it. You will be swarmed with a short wave of Goblin enemies. •After killing off all the goblins, destroy the Makeshift Barricade. •Continue on into The Rimefell. This dungeon area has a lot of dead end paths, so you will probably have to twist and wind around and backtrack several times until you can finally locate the first Waystone for this area. •The Rimefell splits off into many more paths, some of which terminate into dead ends after lengthy stretches of walking. If you find a second Waystone, walk on it to activate it, but do not go past it just yet. •Eventually, you should locate a bridge. Once you cross it, you shall get Quest 7. •Quest 7 can be a bit difficult to understand. You have three pronged gears, a 5-gear, a 6-gear, and an 8-gear, and a middle gear that you can manipulate by turning any of the three side gears. By rotating the 8 gear, you will rotate the other two gears 8 prongs - so the 5-prong gear will turn a full rotation and then 3 more prongs (578 degrees) and the 6-prong gear shall turn a full rotation and then 2 more prongs (480 degrees). Similarly, using the other two does not give the 8-prong gear a full rotation. At the same time, the centre gear has 24 prongs, so 3 rotations with the 8-prong gear or 4 rotations with the 6-prong gear will give it a full rotation. To solve the puzzle, what you must do it get the three coloured poles within the centre of the matching two coloured poles on the centre gear. To accomplish this, fiddle around with the 5-prong and 6-prong gears until you get the purple pole (the 8-prong gear) to be within the pair of purple poles on the centre gear. At the same time, the 6-prong yellow gear should have its pole be either inside the pair of yellow poles, or 2 or 4 prongs offset (1 or 3 prongs offset means you need to fiddle with the 5-gear some more). Once both of those conditions are met, rotate the 8-prong gear for what may be a numerous number of times before both the blue and yellow poles are set in place and the vault opens up, giving you access to a Class Weapon. This will also complete Quest 7. •Make your way to a second Waystone in the area. •Talk to the Goblin Chieftain, and this shall complete Quest 6 as well as give you Quest 8. •Take out the ambush that appears, including Raji and Wrexl, two tougher goblin enemies that will take a fair bit of firepower to eliminate. •You shall now have to battle an ice dinosaur boss called Tyr Rexaur. Unlike prior boss battles, however, you cannot keep your Block up, as one of the Tyr Rexaur's attacks, his bite attack, is an instant kill. Instead, you should constantly be moving away from him, as he also has a second attack where he can spray mist from his mouth that can temporarily paralyse your player-character. The Tyr Rexaur in its normal form is also invulnerable to all forms of attack, so as you can expect, there is a gimmick to defeating him. Goblins and Goblin Rocket Launcher enemies will spawn throughout the battle - the latter type of foe is especially important here. When you damage a Goblin Rocket Launcher and bring its health down to a low point, the Goblin will fall down to the ground, its rocket launcher pack beginning to smoke. As Tyr Rexaur will chase after you, roll around to lure it over the the smoking rocket launcher pack, and it will be stunned by the smoke (flashing red for a second) before falling to the ground. While it is on the ground, hit it with all your might to reduce its health, and then quickly get away once it gets back up to stay out of range from a possible bite attack. Repeat damaging the Goblin Rocket Launcher enemies to use their smoking packs to disable the Tyr Rexaur and eventually bring him down. •Speak with the Goblin Chieftain after the battle, and Quest 9 will be added to your Quest log. •Use the Warpstone to return to Nexus afterwards. Quest 6: Chieftain Chase ------------------------ Conditions: Locate the Goblin Chieftain, chase the Goblin Chieftain Reward: 4604XP Speak with King Marcus in Nexus to get this quest. Starting in The Rimefell, move around, not over a bridge (which takes you to Quest 7), until you find a second Waystone and confront the Goblin Chieftain to finish the quest. Quest 7: Assault the Vault -------------------------- Conditions: Open the goblins' vault Reward: 3801XP Inside The Rimefell, walk around until you find a bridge, and cross over it to find a vault accompanied by a gear contraption puzzle. You have three pronged gears, a 5-gear, a 6-gear, and an 8-gear, and a middle gear that you can manipulate by turning any of the three side gears. By rotating the 8 gear, you will rotate the other two gears 8 prongs - so the 5- prong gear will turn a full rotation and then 3 more prongs (578 degrees) and the 6-prong gear shall turn a full rotation and then 2 more prongs (480 degrees). Quest 8: Wrecking Crew ---------------------- Conditions: Kill the ambush, defeat Tyr Rexaur Reward: LV14 Broken Mind-Control Remote, 6046XP This quest automatically finishes up with the conclusion of Quest 6, and involves fighting a boss, Tyr Rexaur. Unlike prior boss battles, you cannot keep your Block up, as one of the Tyr Rexaur's attacks, his bite attack, is an instant kill. Quest 9: Secrets of the Sphinx ------------------------------ Conditions: Deliver the map to Marcus in Nexus Reward: LV14 Random Necklade, 4717XP, 1200 Gold After defeating the Tyr Rexaur and finishing Quest 8, talk to the Goblin Chieftain in the battle arena area to get this quest. Return to Nexus and speak with Marcus to wrap up Quest 9. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to the Frantic Curator on the far west end of the Noble District next to obtain Quest 10. •Talk to Widow Marston just left of the northern exit for Quest 11. •Speak with King Marcus to the east of the fountain to finish up Quest 9. King Marcus will also deal you Quest 12 in the process. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. Return to The Rimefell. ------------ THE RIMEFELL ------------ •There should be at least a few pieces of Goblin Tech for Quest 10 that can be located in the camp at the end of the level where you previously fought the Tyr Rexaur. •More pieces of Goblin Tech can be found laying on the sides of the dungeon as you wander along, in the form of crates and flags. These will of course sparkle blue. •The Goblin enemies themselves also drop items labelled 'Goblin Tech' which count towards your total. •Technically, you can leave the area after getting a single piece of Goblin Tech, and that will be sufficient to complete Quest 10. Each piece of Goblin Tech nets you 1000 Gold, so when you are satisfied, leave The Rimefell. Quest 10: Goblin Tech --------------------- Conditions: Find pieces of Goblin Technology Reward: LV14 Random Trinket, 3682XP Get this quest by speaking with the Frantic Curator on the west end of the Noble District in Nexus. Inside the level, there should be at least a few pieces of Goblin Tech for Quest 10 that can be located in the camp at the end of the level where you previously fought the Tyr Rexaur. More pieces of Goblin Tech can be found laying on the sides of the dungeon as you wander along, in the form of crates and flags. These will of course sparkle blue. The Goblin enemies themselves also drop items labelled 'Goblin Tech' which count towards your total. Bringing even a single piece of Goblin Tech to the Frantic Curator will finish the quest, with 1000 Gold per piece of Goblin Tech that you bring back. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to the Frantic Curator on the west end of the Noble District to wrap up Quest 10. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. This time, head to The Crystal Path. ---------------- THE CRYSTAL PATH ---------------- •Wander around the area, hacking and slashing your way through enemies, until you encounter The Crystal Vault. Should you spot a Waystone, activate it, but ignore the area going past it until later. Examine The Crystal Vault when you locate it for Quest 13. •Move over to the Stonehenge formation near where the Crystal Vault is. Slay the Crystal Wraith here for it to drop the Blue Crystal. •Continue on in the level afterwards until you spot the first Waystone of the level, and walk past it to trigger it. •From there, continue on a little bit to spot a burned-out cabin. Walk inside and examine the Marston Family Rifle. Right away, you will have to take on a number of Yeti and Savage Yeti, who are both hard to kill and have high attack strength (in a close quarters area), followed by an extremely tough Silverback Wendigo. Use the Ruinburst of Power inside the cabin to give yourself an edge. Spam your healing potions often so you do not unexpectedly die, but above all, keep the monsters away from James. •Talk to James afterwards to complete Quest 11. •Continue on throughout the dungeon. While heading on along the main path, you should encounter a second Crystal Wraith, which will drop the Red Crystal as it perishes, accompanied by a named yeti that can take a lot of damage to fell it. •From where you fought the second Crystal Wraith, the path should split off. Down a dead end, you will find the third Crystal Wraith, which shall drop the Yellow Crystal with its final death. •Continue down the other split paths, and talk to Nolan Hart in a small settlement area for Quest 14. •Head past where Nolan Hart is for an outdoor temple area, and kill off all the undead monsters that are hanging around. Once you have wiped out the contingent of foes out, you will get a brief cutscene with Nolan returning to Nexus. •Return to the Crystal Vault with all three Crystals in hand. •Examine the Crystal Vault, and insert the three Crystals. Light up the red and blue crystals first (which combined make purple), then turn the yellow on while turning the blue off to make orange (yellow and red), then turn red off and blue on to make green (blue and yellow). The gate will subside. •Enter the room to finish up Quest 13 automatically. Continue down the corridor to activate the second Waystone. •You shall now have to take on the Crystal Guardian. •The Crystal Guardian is a slow, lumbering beast, but it only has three attacks: one is a slow swing of one of its hands, the second attack is a fast swing with its arm, and the third involves it rearing back before slamming the ground with both fists. During the latter of these two attacks, the Crystal Guardian will expose its crystal, during which time it is more vulnerable to taking damage - in the case of all three attacks, however, it has a significant recovery time, so you should be attacking regardless right after it has made its own attack. By comparison to the Tyr Rexaur, the Crystal Guardian has far less attack power, no companion enemies to swarm you, and no instant-kill attack, so you can easily block every attack it makes and attack in between its own swings and smashes and not even have to bother rolling away. However, rolling away can give you a better chance of striking its crystal every time it makes a movement. Defeating the Crystal Guardian finishes Quest 12. •Watch a scene, then open up the nearby treasure chest. •Use the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 11: Rifle Recovery ------------------------ Conditions: Recover a rifle Reward: LV15 Random Torso, 4562XP, 1500 Gold Speak with the Widow Marston in Nexus near the northern exit to the Frost Reaches to iniate this quest. Inside The Crystal Path, walk around until you spot the first Waystone of the area, then continue on a little bit to spot a burned-out cabin. Talk to James afterwards to finish Quest 11. Quest 12: Crystal Crisis ------------------------ Conditions: Locate Ataraxis' hidden crystal, talk to King Marcus Reward: 5402XP You can get this quest by talking to King Marcus in Nexus. Inside of The Crystal Path, wander around until you find The Crystal Vault, and go through the course of events for the Bastion of Isolation. After opening up the vault, you shall have to take on the Crystal Guardian boss. The Crystal Guardian is a slow, lumbering beast, but it only has three attacks: one is a slow swing of one of its hands, the second attack is a fast swing with its arm, and the third involves it rearing back before slamming the ground with both fists. Slaying the Crystal Guardian automatically concludes Quest 12. Quest 13: Bastion of Isolation ------------------------------ Conditions: Locate red crystal, Locate blue crystal, Locate yellow crystal, Open The Crystal Vault Reward: 6242XP Wander around at the start of the level, not going past the first Waystone you may locate, until you find the Crystal Vault. Examine it to trigger Quest 13, and you shall now have to locate the three Crystals, carried by Crystal Wraith enemies. The first Crystal Wraith can be found in one of the Stonehenge-like formations of stone slabs in the snow near where the Crystal Vault is. It drops the Blue Crystal. The next Crystal Wraith will be along the main path, accompanied by a yeti enemy. It will drop the Red Crystal. The final Crystal Wraith can be found on a dead end path, droping the Yellow Crystal once it perishes. Afterwards, return to the vault. Examine the Crystal Vault, and insert the three Crystals. Light up the red and blue crystals first (which combined make purple), then turn the yellow on while turning the blue off to make orange (yellow and red), then turn red off and blue on to make green (blue and yellow). The gate will subside, wrapping up Quest 13. Quest 14: Tomb Raider --------------------- Conditions: Cleanse the temple of the undead, return to Taskmaster Rowe in Nexus Reward: LV15 Autographed Photo, 4536XP, 1500 Gold Wander around The Crystal Path until you come to a dead end path that is a fair length of travel deep into the dungeon, where you should stumble upon a settlement area. Talk to the character Nolan Hart to get this quest. Head past where Nolan Hart is for an outdoor temple area, and kill off all the undead monsters that are hanging around. Once you have wiped out the contingent of foes out, you will get a brief cutscene with Nolan returning to Nexus. After you return to Nexus yourself, speak with Taskmaster Rowe in the Merchant District north of the Vindicator salesman to complete Quest 14. ----- NEXUS ----- •Talk to King Marcus on the east end of the Noble District to wrap up Quest 12 and start Quest 15. •Speak with Taskmaster Rowe in the Merchant District north of the Vindicator salesman to complete Quest 14. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. This time, head to Predators' Peak. --------------- PREDATORS' PEAK --------------- •Speak at the start with the Goblin Shaman to receive Quest 16. •The area going away from the bridge the Goblin Shaman is standing next to will lead to a dead end, so you may wish to explore here, then continue on past the bridge. •Soon, you should come to a split in the paths, each of which can extend on for a fairly long time. Explore around a bit and continue down the path that goes into an indoor cavern area and has the first Waystone of the area only a short ways in. You may or may not find something useful down this path. •Going down the other long pathway, you should eventually come to a Stonehenge-type area with many Spectre Roots sitting around, blue sparkles indicative of what they are. Harvest 5 of them from the ground for Quest 14. •Return to the start of the level and talk to the Goblin Shaman again, and Quest 14 shall be completed automatically. •Continue back past the Stonehenge area where you got the Spectre Roots, and explore around a little until you can stumble across the second Waystone for this area. •Talk to Fironel to automatically conclude Quest 15 and initiate a battle, starting Quest 17. •Fironel will hit you with a cheap shot before retreating to the back of the battlefield. Follow her and she will summon the Wyvern half of the boss pair. The Wyvern will stay at the back end of the battlefield, spitting out blasts of ice magic at you throughout the battle, but will not move away from its location, while Fironel will go towards you to hit you with blasts of fire magic. Use this to your advantage by parking yourself behind one of the big pillars so the Wyvern's ice magic smashes right into the pillar and not into you, then dodge and roll around to avoid Fironel's attacks (which can stun) or block in between attacking her. After you deal Fironel a good deal of damage, she will retreat, during which time she will regenerate HP. Take this time to go down to the Wyvern while Fironel is not attacking, and deal it damage. Besides the Wyvern's regular ice attack, it can also spray a full mist of ice in a semi -circular arc from its mouth in front of it. If you get hit with this, it will freeze the ground under your feet, requiring you to mash the B button to break the ice and be able to move. However, after you bring the Wyvern down to a certain amount of HP, it will become berserk and invulnerable to further normal damage. Its ice beam attack will hit the support pillar at the end, making it far weaker to damage (you can break it before then, but it will take a lot more damage to do so). Break the Weakened Support Pillar for it to fall on the Wyvern and chase it off. From now on, you will have to deal with Fironel, who likes to teleport around a lot, teleporting away from you, and then close up. Roll away from her magic attacks instead of blocking them since a lot of them have a bit of a radius and can debilitate your character, not to mention at least one of her attacks is Unblockable. After you whittle Fironel down to about half HP again, she will call the Wyvern back. Repeat what you did before, taking part of the Wyvern's health down until it becomes invulnerable, then lure it into using its ice beam attack on the nearest by pillar, and destroy the Weakened Support Pillar to chase it off again. Fironel will attack you again, this time with a lot more frantic teleporting around than before. After you damage her enough, she will summon the Wyvern for a third time. Hit the Wyvern until it uses its ice beam, then attack the Weakened Support Pillar Fironel is standing on. Damage the Wyvern some more after that to bring down a second Weakened Support Pillar, then the third and final Weakened Support Pillar and fifth of this fight to finally bring the Wyvern down and end the boss battle. Quest 17 will end afterwards, and you shall also get Quest 18. •Reap the rewards of the boss battle from the treasure chest after the cutscene. •Use the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 15: Parley ---------------- Conditions: Confront Fironel at Predators' Peak Reward: 4697XP Speak with King Marcus inside Nexus to first get this quest. At Predators' Peak, wander around until you find Fironel at a cliffside area. Talk to her to finish the quest. Quest 16: Ghostly Herb ---------------------- Conditions: Collect 5 Spectre Roots Reward: LV16 Random Shoulders, 5259XP, 1650 Gold Speak with the Goblin Shaman at the start of the level to first start this quest. Wander around a bit through the level. Soon, you should come to a split in the paths, each of which can extend on for a fairly long time. Explore a bit, and down one of the pathways you should eventually come to a Stonehenge- type area with many Spectre Roots sitting around, blue sparkles indicative of what they are. Harvest 5 of them from the ground, and return to the Goblin Shaman to finish up the quest. Quest 17: Winner Take All ------------------------- Conditions: Defeat Fironel, Defeat the Wyvern Reward: LV16 Mark of the Dragon, 8763XP This quest starts as soon as you complete Quest 15, and involves a major boss battle. Fironel will hit you with a cheap shot to start before retreating to the back of the battlefield. Follow her and she will summon the Wyvern half of the boss pair. The Wyvern will stay at the back end of the battlefield, spitting out blasts of ice magic at you throughout the battle, but will not move away from its location, while Fironel will go towards you to hit you with blasts of fire magic. Damage the Wyvern some more after that to bring down a second Weakened Support Pillar, then the third and final Weakened Support Pillar and fifth of this fight to finally bring the Wyvern down and end the boss battle. Quest 18: The Crystal --------------------- Conditions: Bring the crystal to Nexus, return the crystal to Eckhardt Reward: 6383XP, 900 Gold After completing Quest 17, you will get the Crystal along with Quest 18. Return to Nexus, and then head to the Soul Void. Inside the first dungeon, talk to Eckhardt to finish the mission. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Area Four - Soul Void =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [A4SV] ----- NEXUS ----- •You will automatically be given Quest 1 for the new area upon entering Nexus. •Head to the northeast end of Nexus to Castle Arcanus. Talk to Malleus Kinslan to enter the Soul Void (You will not yet at this point in time be able to complete Quest 18 for the Frost Reaches). ------------------ THE SHATTERED LABS ------------------ •After entering and a scene, Quest 1 will be automatically completed. •Talk to Eckhardt to finally wrap up Quest 18 from the Frost Reaches. He will also give you Quest 2 for the area. •Continue on through a decent length of the dungeon, until you start going up a long spiralling staircase and find the first Waystone. •Progress along the staircase and talk to Prince Solon to wrap up Quest 2, and you shall get Quest 3 at the same time. •Once you head on, you should expect to be rapidly swarmed by an endless number of foes, mostly Soul Imps and Ether Imps, with some larger Mantids and Fiends for good measure. Push your way through the horde of demons until you get to the second Waystone. •Talk to Prince Adrian on the ground to activate a fight with the Archangel. •The Archangel is a fairly large, close-combat enemy with only a few attacks and which does little overall damage. Up front, all it will really do is swing at you with its lance. If you move away from it, however, the Archangel has a couple of long-range attacks. The first one is sending out a blue orb of energy at you, which while it _may_ hurt (it did little damage to me, though I may have had high defense), does not have any status effects if it hits you without blocking. When the Archangel is sending its lance at you, definitely block it, as getting hit with the attack can lower your attack power temporarily. Other than that, the Archangel has no gimmicks - from start to finish, it is vulnerable to attacks, with no period of invulnerability. •Collect the treasure from the chest which appears after the battle. •Speak with Prince Adrian again to finish Quest 3. You can take his offer to go right back to Nexus, or use the nearby Waystone to do so. Quest 1: The Soul Void ---------------------- Conditions: Enter the Soul Void labs Reward: LV17 Random Gloves, 7630XP, 1500 Gold You will get this quest automatically once you enter Nexus after having finished off the Frost Reaches area. You will also get this quest completed automatically as soon as you enter The Shattered Labs. Quest 2: Royal Rescue --------------------- Conditions: Find the royals Reward: LV17 Random Torso, 7434XP, 1200 Gold Talk to Eckhardt at the entrance to The Shattered Labs to obtain this mission. Continue along the level and up a spiralling staircase. Past the first Waystone of the area, talk to Prince Solon to conclude this quest. Quest 3: Cruel Angel's Thesis ----------------------------- Conditions: Locate Prince Adrian Reward: LV17 Random Ring, 8082XP, 1800 Gold You shall get this quest once you speak to Prince Solon and finish Quest 2. Move in the mostly linear dungeon, fighting off a strong horde of enemies along the way, until you get past the second Waystone. Speak with Prince Adrian to initiate a boss battle with the Archangel. The Archangel is a fairly large, close-combat enemy with only a few attacks and which does little overall damage. Up front, all it will really do is swing at you with its lance. If you move away from it, however, the Archangel has a couple of long-range attacks. Other than that, the Archangel has no gimmicks - from start to finish, it is vulnerable to attacks, with no period of invulnerability. ----- NEXUS ----- •Speak with Prince Adrian, and you will get your first overarching quest of the game, which takes place across three seperate areas. For consistency's sake, these quests (Quest 4, Quest 5, Quest 6) will be labelled as fitting in with the Soul Void section of the guide. •Chat with Taskmaster Rowe, who is located north of the Vindicator merchant in the Merchant District to get Quest 7, Waterlogged Relics. •Speak with the Distraught Wife just north of the Docks to receive Quest 8. •Offload your equipment drops and pick up some new equipment as needed, then talk to Captain Staruk at the docks to enter Shadow's Depths. --------------- SHADOW'S DEPTHS --------------- •Start off by moving around in this area until you get to one of the rooms with the gated-off balcony with staircases next to it. Stumble around here to locate the pearls for Quest 7 located on the balcony. •Continue on a little bit thereafter to activate the first Waystone. •Talk to the Biological Test Victim in one of the circular chambers shortly thereafter to complete Quest 8. Offer to put him out of his misery to receive Quest 9. He only requires a single attack to kill. •Muddle along until you find a cells area. Explore the cells to find the dagger required to complete Quest 7. •Proceed along past the cells, and then continue throughout the dungeon until you get close to where a second Waystone is on the minimap, and you are stopped by a barrier labeled the Krakenspawn Psychofield. •Examine the Krakenspawn Psychofield to obtain Quest 10. •Backtrack into the lab area right near the barrier. Explore around to find a Brain in a Jar on a lab bench, and examine it. You will be swarmed by a number of Krakenspawn Mages right after your conversation, and also get Quest 11. •Move to examine the Krakenspawn Psychofield again, allowing you to enter past it and complete Quest 10. •Trigger the Waystone, and you will then have to take on the Krakenspawn Magus. •During the early part of the battle, Krakenspawn Magus will lumber around the large battlefield slowly, giving long-range classes a good chance to get away and hit him from afar. All three of his attacks are magical in nature. The first of them is short-range distance, which basically involves him shooting force lightning out of his hands. The other two are long-distance magic techniques: the first one involves him shooting a single blue energy ball out of his hand. Avoid this for certain, as it will stun your character if you get hit by it. His third attack sends out three energy balls out, 45 degrees of each other, but they do not stun if you get hit. After you deal the Magus a good chunk of damage, he will teleport back to in front of his throne and send out a blast of energy around him that will slow your character down if you get caught in the radius zone. He will then summon a number of Krakenspawn Mages and Summoned Imps from four portals (the stream of energy he sends to the portals will not damage you, do not worry). Whittle down the number of summoned foes until the Magus stops and changes back into regular battle form, and then strike him again. Repeat doing this a few times with his teleporting and protecting himself as he summons monsters until he finally dies. •Open up the treasure chest to get your rewards. •Examine the Soggy Tome lying on the ground in here to finish up the list of items needed for Quest 8. •Examine the Krakenspawn Treasure Chest next to the Magus' throne to be able to head to the next Coral Tombs dungeon. •Use the Waystone at the entrance to the throne room to return to Nexus. You could go right onto the next dungeon with the Ruinscar from here, but there are always things to do in Nexus before each dungeon. Quest 7: Waterlogged Relics --------------------------- Conditions: Find the pearl, Find the tome, Find the dagger Reward: 7465XP, 1950 Gold Get this quest in Nexus by speaking with Taskmaster Rowe, who is located north of the Vindicator equipment merchant. Inside of Shadow's Depths, you should find the Pearls early on in one of the marble-floor areas with a balcony and stairs, right at the end of the balcony. The Dagger will be located later on in a cells area. The Tome can be find at the end of the dungeon, in the boss area where you battle the Krakenspawn Magus. Quest 8: Lost to the Tide ------------------------- Conditions: Find the missing man in Shadow's Depths Reward: 6782XP Speak to the Distraught Wife north of the docks in Nexus to get this quest. Continue through Shadow's Depths as normal until you get to one of the circular chamber areas and see a Krakenspawn enemy who you can talk to. Speaking with him will finish Quest 8 automatically. Quest 9: News of Love Lost -------------------------- Conditions: Kill the mutated man, return to the Distraught Wife in Nexus Reward: LV18 Random Ring, 7054XP Once you have concluded Quest 8, offer to put the mutated man out of his misery, with only one blow required to kill him. To complete the quest, return to Nexus, and chat with the Distraught Wife north of the docks. Quest 10: Mind the Gap ---------------------- Conditions: Find a way to get past the Krakenspawn Psychofield Reward: 8758XP In Shadow's Depths, continue on through the dungeon past the cells area and past a lab area, until you get stopped by a barrier that is labelled the Krakenspawn Psychofield. Backtrack from there into the lab area to locate a Brain in a Jar on a lab bench. Examine it to pick it up, then head forward and examine the Krakenspawn Psychofield again to finish Quest 10. Right after, you shall have to fight the Krakenspawn Magus, so here is the boss strategy for him. During the early part of the battle, Krakenspawn Magus will lumber around the large battlefield slowly, giving long-range classes a good chance to get away and hit him from afar. Quest 11: Disembodied and Distresses ------------------------------------ Conditions: Find a safe spot for the brain in a jar in Nexus Reward: LV18 Telepathic Bond, 13570XP, 600 Gold Quest 11 is given to you automatically in the course of doing Quest 10. When you return to Nexus, head slightly west of Nexus, using an ! icon on the mini-map as a guide, and examine an Empty Table Top to place the Brain in a Jar and finish the quest. ----- NEXUS ----- •Speak with the Distraught Wife north of the docks to complete Quest 9. •Slightly west of the docks, using the blue ! icon on the mini-map, examine the Empty Table Top to finish Quest 11. •Chat with Taskmaster Rowe north of the Vindicator merchant in the Merchant district to complete Quest 7. •Near the southern exit of the Merchant District, on the right side, speak with the Orphaned Flower Girl to get Quest 12. •South of the Orphaned Flower Girl, chat with the Brew Master to get Quest 13. •Offload your equipment drops and pick up some new equipment as needed, then talk to Captain Staruk at the docks to enter The Undersprawl. --------------- THE UNDERSPRAWL --------------- •Throughout the dungeon, you will of course be doing battle with numerous enemies. For the enemies with a Krakenspawn prefix, such as the Krakenspawn Archon or Krakenspawn Mage, some of these will drop Wiggling Tentacles. Pick these up for Quest 13, of which you will need 8 in total throughout The Undersprawl. •From the start of the dungeon, head along deeper into The Undersprawl. There will be a few dead end split paths, but they all end fairly quickly without leading you astray for too long. Continue until you get to the dungeon's first Waystone. •A little bit past here, you shall encounter an enemy called the Skeleton Bandit. Fight it and destroy it, and pick up the Antique Helmet it drops for Quest 12, which can be completed once you head back to Nexus. •Continue on until you get to a cells area. Once you proceed past it, activate the second Waystone in the area. •Examine the Ruinscar of the Sea, and then you shall have to do battle with the Krakenspawn Lich, giving you Quest 14 along with it. •The Krakenspawn Lich does not go out of his way to attack you much for the most part of the battle. He will occasionally sned out a slow moving giant seed-like projectile that will paralyse your character if it hits him or her, but for the most part, the Lich will be content with summoning an endless horde of Zombie Tiburs, Skeleton Warriors and Zombie Ickthids. These enemies are particularly annoying as the Tiburs can suck health from your player-character, the Skeletons will explode when they reach low HP, and the Ickthids get stronger attack power as long as they are many instead of only a few. If you are using a long-range character, roll away constantly to keep distance between yourself and the horde, spam ammunition or magic attacks, and use Energy Potions freely. For short range characters, you will want to use special Energy Attacks that hit the entire mob of undead at once with a single powerful blow. Every so often, go and attack the Lich King, and deal damage to him until he gets temporary invulnerability. Right after you clear out a certain amount of the horde, you will get a brief scene where he jerks back. After these scenes, he is vulnerable to attack again. After you have cleared out a very large number of undead, the horde will finally subside, and the Krakenspawn Lich will attack you. Much like before with the Krakenspawn Magus, the Lich has three attacks. The Krakenspawn Lich will not teleport and make himself invulnerable like the Magus did, so wail away at him with attacks until finally he is down for the count. Quest 14 concludes with the Lichs' death. •Examine the Ruinscar of the Sea again to finally complete Quest 4. •Open up the treasure chest for your just rewards. •Once you have 8 Wiggling Tentacles required for Quest 13, take the Waystone and return to Nexus. Quest 4: Ruinscar of the Sea ---------------------------- Conditions: Find the Ruinscar's location, infuse the crystal Reward: 9910XP You can first get this quest by speaking to Prince Adrian after completing The Shattered Labs of the Soul Void dungeon. After traversing Shadow's Depths to get the location to finish this quest, traverse through the dungeon until you get to the end. Once Quest 14 is completed, examine the Ruinscar of the Sea to finally wrap this quest up. Quest 12: For Love and Money ---------------------------- Conditions: Slay the Skeleton Bandit, Return to the Orphaned Flower Girl in Nexus Reward: LV19 Random Class Weapon, 6633XP, 2400 Gold Near the southern exit of the Merchant District, on the right side, speak with the Orphaned Flower Girl to get Quest 12. Inside The Undersprawl, continue on until you get to the dungeon's first Waystone. Slightly past that, you shall encounter an enemy called the Skeleton Bandit. Fight it and destroy it, and pick up the Antique Helmet it drops. Return to Nexus and talk to the Orphaned Flower Girl again to finish the quest. Quest 13: Fishy Brew -------------------- Conditions: Obtain 8 Krakenspawn Wiggling Tentacles, Return to The Brew Master in Nexus Reward: LV19 Random Necklace, 6351XP, 1800 Gold Near the southern exit of the Merchant District, on the right side, speak with The Brew Master for Quest 13. Inside The Undersprawl, fight the enemies with a Krakenspawn prefix, such as the Krakenspawn Archon or Krakenspawn Mage, for Wiggling Tentacles. Once you have 8 Wiggling Tentacles, return to Nexus and talk to The Brew Master to finish. Quest 14: Finish Him! --------------------- Conditions: Defeat the horde of undead, slay the Krakenspawn Lich Reward: LV19 Random Torso, 9910XP At the end of the dungeon, examine the Ruinscar of the Sea to initiate a battle both with the Krakenspawn Lich and an undead horde. The Krakenspawn Lich does not go out of his way to attack you much for the most part of the battle. He will occasionally sned out a slow moving giant seed-like projectile that will paralyse your character if it hits him or her, but for the most part, the Lich will be content with summoning an endless horde of Zombie Tiburs, Skeleton Warriors and Zombie Ickthids. Quest 14 concludes with the Lichs' death. ----- NEXUS ----- •Near the southern exit of the Merchant District, on the right side, speak with the Orphaned Flower Girl to complete Quest 12. •South of the Orphaned Flower Girl, chat with the Brew Master to finish Quest 13. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Move west into the Industrial District and continue west to Flint Merrin and speak with him to enter The Tangled Growth ------------------ THE TANGLED GROWTH ------------------ •Talk to Celdria to obtain Quest 15. •Speak to Marliel for Quest 16. •Chat with Solrian for Quest 17. •Finally, talk with King Keltas for Quest 18. •Exit the throne room and leave the congregation of spirits behind to explore The Tangled Growth. You may wander along a few dead end paths, but eventually you should come to an Ancient Statue. Examine it to finish Quest 16, as well as receive Quest 19 in favour. •For Quest 19, Accessible Wood can be found on the ground next to trees indicated by blue sparkles. A spot will not always have wood that you can actually pick up, however, so you shall need to locate more than 8 spots to gather your 8 pieces of wood. Relic of the Ancients are a lot more difficult to spark, as they do not have blue sparkles to indicate them - they are blue with a slightly grey outline, and are small, about the same size icon on the ground as potions are. You need 3 of these. Backtrack in the level to find them in a grove. Go into the Quest Menu and select this quest to make it the active quest, and the Relics will show up on the mini-map as blue dots, making it easier to locate them. Dread Wisp enemies will appear later on, and when destroyed will drop Wisp Essence. You need 4 of these. Once you gather all the items, the quest automatically concludes, but you will also get Quest 20. •For Quest 20, return to the Elder and speak with it. Quest 20 will be finished automatically once you have spoken with the Elder. •Continue on past the Elder to spot the Bloodoak that must be destroyed for Quest 15. To solve this, hit any one of the four wraiths, and three of them will disappear. For your second attack, hit the lone wraith. For your third hit, strike either of the two wraiths. The fourth hit is important, and you will be here whenever there are only THREE wraiths out: strike the CENTER of the three wraiths (the one with a wraith on either side) to fell the barrier protecting the Bloodoak. Examine the Bloodoak thereafter to automatically finish Quest 15. •Proceed past where the Bloodoak was and you should come out into an open area. One path from here will lead to a Locked Gate - ignore the path that goes past a Waystone for now. Examine the Locked gate to automatically unlock it and hack and slash at the Rune of Command inside. •With the Rune of Command's destruction, head along another pathway through The Tangled Growth until you find and activate the area's first Waystone. •Explore around here from now on. Down some side-road paths, you should be able to find the remaining Rune of Commands behind Located Gates. Destroy both of them to wrap up Quest 17. •Head down the remaining path that should take you across a river via a vine bridge. Move ahead until you get to the second Waystone for the area. •Examine the Ancient Statue to trigger a battle with the Spellbound Treant. •The Spellbound Treant is on the larger side for enemies you have fought so far, and so appropriately it lumbers around at a slow pace. None of its attacks have any special properties such as stunning or poisoning your character, and similarly it does not have any invulnerability gimmicks - it will take damage from beginning to end throughout the battle. It does, however, have a crystal on its right arm which will be exposed when it does the latter two of its four attacks. The first two of the Spellbound Treant's attacks are a simple sideswipe of its arm, and hammering the ground in front of it. Both of these are very short-range. Of the latter two attacks, both of them involve the Spellbound Treant rearing up, and then hammering the ground in front of it with both its arms. In the first one, the Spellbound Treant will glow blue, and then send out a blue shockwave of energy a short distance from it. In the second attack, the Treant glows red, and when it hammers the ground, causes tree roots to sprout from the ground in a large radius around it, definitely catching any short-range fighters in its blows. In any case, the Spellbound Treant practically telegraphs every one of its four moves well ahead of time, so block every time it makes to do an attack, or keep your distance if you are using a long-range character, and keep hammering away at it until it falls. Quest 18 will be completed after you do so, and you shall also obtain Quest 21. •After the battle, open up the treasure chest for your battle rewards. •Take the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 15: Heart of the Forest ----------------------------- Conditions: Remove the ward, destroy the Bloodoak Reward: LV18 Random Trinket, 7465XP Get this quest by speaking with Celdria in the congregation of spirits at the start of the level. Continue on through the level as normal, and you should eventually wander upon the Bloodoak going along the main path, guarded by four wraiths which have put up a barrier. Quest 16: Elder's Blessing -------------------------- Conditions: Locate the Elder Reward: 5428XP Speak with Marliel in the court of spirits at the start of The Tangled Growth. Continue on in the level, and you should shortly thereafter come upon an Ancient Statue. Examine it to finish the quest. Quest 17: Chains of Command --------------------------- Conditions: Destroy the 3 Runes of Command Reward: LV18 Random Belt, 8414XP Chat with Solrian at the start of the level in the court to get this quest. Throughout the level, on side paths diverting away from the main path, you will find Locked Gates that you need only examine to open. The first Rune of Command can be found right after destroying the Bloodoak tree, while the second and third Runes of Command can be located after the first Waystone of the level. Merely bash away at the Runes to destroy them, and the quest finishes automatically once all three have been destroyed. Quest 18: Michadele's Folly --------------------------- Conditions: Locate and defeat Michadele Reward: LV18 Random Torso, 10179XP Speak with King Keltas after speaking to the other three ghostly spirits to obtain this quest. Just wander through the forest, making your way along the path, until you come to an Ancient Statue at the end. Examine the Ancient Statue to trigger a battle with the Spellbound Treant. The Spellbound Treant is on the larger side for enemies you have fought so far, and so appropriately it lumbers around at a slow pace. None of its attacks have any special properties such as stunning or poisoning your character, and similarly it does not have any invulnerability gimmicks - it will take damage from beginning to end throughout the battle. Quest 19: Power of the Ancestors -------------------------------- Conditions: Gather 8 Wood, Gather 4 Essence, Gather 3 Relics, Return to the Ancient Statue with the items Reward: 5700XP This quest will be had automatically once you complete Quest 16. Accessible Wood can be found on the ground next to trees indicated by blue sparkles. Dread Wisp enemies will appear later on in the level after talking to the Elder, and when destroyed will drop Wisp Essence. You need 4 of these. Once you gather all the items, the quest automatically concludes. Quest 20: Reforging History --------------------------- Conditions: Return to the Ancient Statue Reward: LV18 Class Specific Weapon (Gunslinger - Elder Fury), 6244XP Quest 20 starts automatically as soon as you complete Quest 19. Return to the Elder and talk to it to finish the Quest. ----- NEXUS ----- •Head east from Flint Merrin, and across the bridge speak with the Vengeful Old Man for Quest 22. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Move west into the Industrial District and continue west to Flint Merrin and speak with him to enter Nature's Pulse. -------------- NATURE'S PULSE -------------- •Move forward to confront Michadele. •After the scene, explore the grove you are in to find blue sparkles that indicate a Shallow Grave. This will probably not be the grave you are looking for, but throughout the level there will be plenty of Shallow Graves you need to dig up. One of the Shallow Graves will have the bones required for Quest 22, while another grave will have a Ring that is necessary for a Quest you can get while in this level. Any enemies you see labelled 'The Shadow Reaper' are not the foe you need to kill for Quest 22. Only The Shadow Reaper that appears when you find the reaper's bones and destroy them is the one that will help you complete Quest 22. Once you do find it, you will still need to return to the Vengeful Old Man in Nexus to finish the quest. •Continue out of the grove to find the first Waystone shortly thereafter. •Wander around from here through the forest until you get to the second Waystone. •Proceed on from here and continue through the forest. You should find a bridge at one point with a Spectral Knight blocking passage. Talk to it to gain Quest 23. •To find the heirloom ring for Quest 23, dig up Shallow Graves until you find it (make sure to talk to the Spectral Knight first just in case you did find it earlier and forgot all about it). Return to the Spectral Knight and physically attack him instead of talking to him to trigger him fighting you. After he falls, you will get a key from him. Continue to the chest past where he was guarding to get a Class Weapon and complete Quest 23. •Stumble around the forest until you find a third Waystone. Head past this to find a fourth Waystone shortly thereafter (the large, dead tree is unimprotant). This will trigger the final battle with Michadele. •Michadele has only a single attack, where she sends out ghostly tendrils of energy that have no special effects on their own. Where she makes up for it is in sheer annoyance - throughout the battle, Wraiths and Webspinner enemies will spawn on a nonstop basis, with the Webspinners being especially annoying as they will send spider webs at you to trap you constantly. Michadele will also teleport around the battlefield constantly, forcing you to turn around to find her and then chase after her. If you do not take too much damage from these small-time monsters, and you are at a sufficiently high level (21, 22 or higher) where killing them will net you little XP, then ignore them and simply focus on battering Michadele with powerful attacks, especially as she can slowly recover health. After taking a minor amount of damage, she will possess a Primal Guardian, which you must kill to force her to abandon the body. After that, she does not have any more special tricks up her sleeves, so focus on her and only her until the battle ends. •Talk to King Keltas after the battle is over to finish up Quest 21. •Examine the Ruinscar of the Forest to finally complete Quest 5. •Return to Nexus using the Waystone. Quest 5: Ruinscar of the Forest ------------------------------- Conditions: Locate King Keltas in The Tangled Growth, Locate the Ruinscar of the Forest, Infuse the Crystal Reward: 7763XP You can first get this quest by speaking to Prince Adrian after completing The Shattered Labs of the Soul Void dungeon. After traversing The Tangled Growth to get the location to finish this quest, traverse through the dungeon until you get to the end. Once Quest 21 is completed, examine the Ruinscar of the Forest to finally wrap this quest up. Quest 21: Spirit of Madness --------------------------- Conditions: Travel to Nature's Pulse, Defeat Michadele Reward: LV19 Random Necklace, 11995 XP Quest 21 will be given to you automatically after completing The Tangled Growth dungeon. Inside Nature's Pulse, head along through the level until you get to the fourth and final Waystone of the level past an odd tree, to trigger a battle with Michadele again. Michadele has only a single attack, where she sends out ghostly tendrils of energy that have no special effects on their own. After taking a minor amount of damage, she will possess a Primal Guardian, which you must kill to force her to abandon the body. After that, she does not have any more special tricks up her sleeves, so focus on her and only her until the battle ends. With her defeat, Quest 21 concludes. Quest 22: Laid to Rest ---------------------- Conditions: Destroy the Shadow Reaper's physical remains, slay the Shadow Reaper, Return to the Vengeful Old Man in Nexus Reward: LV19 Random Torso, 7763XP Inside Nexus, speak with the Vengeful Old Man on the west end of the Industrial District (just over the bridge heading east from Flint Merrin) to get this quest. When travelling throughout Nature's Pulse, examine the Shallow Graves located all over the place. One of them will turn up bones. Burn the bones, and then kill The Shadow Reaper enemy that appears (you will get a small message on the screen basically saying 'Reaper Slain'). With this, return to the Vengeful Old Man to complete the quest. Quest 23: None Shall Pass ------------------------- Conditions: Locate the Heirloom Ring, Defeat the Spectral Knight Reward: 7684XP, 1200 Gold When travelling throughout Nature's Pulse, examine the Shallow Graves located all over the place. One of them will turn up a Ring. When getting towards the end of the level, after you walk past the second Waystone of the area, one of the paths will lead you to a bridge with a Spectral Knight. Talk to the Spectral Knight to first activate this quest. Once the quest has started, and you have the ring (without which you will not be able to defeat the Spectral Knight), attack the Spectral Knight (there is no indication that you can actually hit him - do so nonetheless). Defeat him and he will give you a key. Wander past the bridge to open a chest for a class specific item, which will also conclude the quest. ----- NEXUS ----- •Speak with the Vengeful Old Man past the bridge to complete Quest 22. •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. This time, head to Frosthome. --------- FROSTHOME --------- •From where you enter, activate the Waystone, talk to the Goblin Trailblazer, then follow the mini-map to the yellow ! icon. •Speak with the Goblin Chieftain to receive Quest 24. •Chat with the four Goblin Scientists around the camp to receive Quests 25, 26, 27 and 28. •Head out from the camp area, and start to explore the level of Frosthome. •For Quest 25, Golem Ore can be obtained by fighting the Glacier Golems. These will spawn randomly throughout the level. Much like other golems in previous areas, you are best off waiting and blocking its attacks and then counterattacking while its crystal is exposed to deal large amounts of damage, as it is heavily resistant to damage otherwise. You need 5 Golem Ore drops from the Glacier Golems to finish the quest. •For Quest 27, wander around the level, and you will occasionally encounter spawning Spitewing Gargoyles. When they come up, bring them below half health, and then continue to slowly whittle away their health until they get a red glow around them to indicate they are enraged. Once a Spitewing Gargoyle has this, pound away at the Gargoyle to finish it off and pick up the Rage Core it leaves behind as a drop. You need 6 Rage Cores from the Gargoyle to complete the quest. Where one Spitewing Gargoyle spawns, in an open field area, stick around, as there will be many more right behind it. •Continue on in the level until you find the second Waystone of the area. The path will split up from here, with two more Waystones to follow, one of which will continue to Quest 26, and one to Quest 28. •For Quest 26, you should find a Goblin Medic next to the area's third Waystone. Speak with him beforehand, activate the Waystone, and the wolves will come at you. Do not bother blocking, and instead use Health Potions as required to get your Health bar back up to spec. After a while, there will be a message on the bottom right of the top-screen saying 'Damage Taken'. At this point, talk to the Goblin Medic to wrap up most of the quest, kill off the wolves, and then head out. •For Quest 28, there will be a fourth Waystone near where Quest 26 took place. Activate the Waystone, then wander around the ruined settlement area for a bit, and continue exploring until an Ironfist enemy unburrows itself and rises from the ground. The Ironfist is not very tough, only a bit more difficult to kill than the regular enemies, so take it out along with the normal foes that show up. •Once you have 6 Rage Cores, 5 Golem Ores, and have spoken to the Goblin Medic and killed Ironfist, return to the camp. •Speak to the four Goblin Scientists around the camp to complete Quests 25, 26, 27, and 28. •After all four quests are done, talk to the Goblin Chieftain, and you will end up taking on the Goblin Colossus. •The Goblin Colossus is a fairly quick opponent, capable of moving around the arena at fast speeds. However, most of its attacks are physical attacks, easy to block against. Its only debilitating technique involves it sending a small shockwave out from it, which saps a very small amount of health from your character for a few seconds before the effect fades away. The Colossus' defense and health are both measly compared to traditional bosses, so it should not take long before the bout ends in your favour. •Open up the treasure chest after the battle to collect your rewards. •Talk to the Goblin Chieftain again to get Quest 24 done and find the location for the next Ruinscar. •Go to the Waystone and return to Nexus. Quest 24: Goblus Ex Machina --------------------------- Conditions: Help 4 Goblin scientists Reward: LV18 Hero's Medal, 9840XP To get this, merely talk to the Goblin Chieftain once you enter Frosthome and go to the Goblin's camp. To finish this, you need to complete Quests 25, 26, 27 and 28, then talk to the Goblin Chieftain again, and you will be made to take on the Goblin Colossus. The Goblin Colossus is a fairly quick opponent, capable of moving around the arena at fast speeds. Afterwards, talk to the Goblin Chieftain again to finally finish Quest 24 up. Quest 25: Dead Ore Alive ------------------------ Conditions: Collect 5 Ore from Golems Reward: LV18 Random Trinket, 6294XP, 750 Gold You can get this quest by talking to one of the four Goblin Scientists in the Goblin camp after obtaining Quest 25 from the Goblin Chieftain. Golem Ore can be obtained by fighting the Glacier Golems. To do so, you must talk to the respective Goblin Scientist again. Quest 26: Mark of the Wolves ---------------------------- Conditions: Take damage from wolves, report to the Goblin Medic Reward: LV18 Random Ring, 6388XP, 750 Gold You can get this quest by talking to one of the four Goblin Scientists in the Goblin camp after obtaining Quest 25 from the Goblin Chieftain. Later on near the end of the dungeon, there will be a large open field with a Goblin Medic and a Waystone at the entrance. To finish the quest, you must talk to the respective Goblin Scientist again. Quest 27: Raging Spirit ----------------------- Conditions: Collect 6 Rage Cores from enraged Gargoyles Reward: LV18 Random Belt, 6899XP, 750 Gold You can get this quest by talking to one of the four Goblin Scientists in the Goblin camp after obtaining Quest 25 from the Goblin Chieftain. Head out of the camp and walk through the level, and you will at some time come to an open field where Spitewing Gargoyles spawn from the ground. To finish the quest, you must talk to the respective Goblin Scientist again. Quest 28: Ironfist ------------------ Conditions: Defeat Ironfist Reward: LV18 Random Torso, 6621XP, 750 Gold You can get this quest by talking to one of the four Goblin Scientists in the Goblin camp after obtaining Quest 25 from the Goblin Chieftain. You will need to wander along through the level until you hit the end of it, and find a Waystone at the start of a ruined settlement area. Activate the Waystone, then make to wander around along the ruined settlement area for a bit, and continue exploring until an Ironfist enemy unburrows itself and rises from the ground. The Ironfist is not very tough, only a bit more difficult to kill than the regular enemies, so take it out along with the normal foes that show up. To finish the quest, you must talk to the respective Goblin Scientist again. ----- NEXUS ----- •Go to the equipment stores, offload your item drops, and pick up new equipment as needed. •Return to the north end and speak to Dane Collins to head to the Frost Reaches. This time, head to The Frozen North. ---------------- THE FROZEN NORTH ---------------- •Move down from the start and watch a scene. You will get Quest 29. •Continue downhill and talk to the Colossus, located in a Stonehenge formation. You can choose to either aid him or fight him. If you choose to aid him, you will complete Quest 29 and get Quest 30 and Quest 31. •Head past the Stonehenge-like area. You will have to do a lot of wandering around first through the area before anything relevant to Quest 30 or 31 occurs. •Once you make it into a cavern area, you can start doing Quest 30 when you encounter Goblin Trappers for random encounters. Hit them until they fall down to about half health. When the screen says 'Capture Now!', move in close to the Trapper and press L to 'trap' them. You will need 10 Trapped Goblins, and they do not spawn past your initial skirmish in each section of The Frozen North, so once you have a few Trapped Goblins, ignore the Goblin Underminers and head on. You will have to backtrack through the level to capture more Trapped Goblins. Enable Quest 30 as the active quest in your Quest menu (highlight and select it so the text box is gold instead of blue) so the Goblin Trappers will appear as red icons on the mini-map - keep an eye on the mini-map to see when they pop up. •Head up a high hill and activate the first Waystone of the area, and you will need to duke it out with the Goblin Chief's Brigade. •In what is basically a military camp area, you will need to contend with multiple Goblin types of enemies. At the same time, there are six turrets ringed around the perimeter of the camp, labeled Goblin Automatons. Go to each of these and destroy these, as they will automatically fire at you during the duration of the battle with the horde (and can deal a good chunk of damage to you). Afterwards, destroy the 3 Siege Pumps in the middle. The Goblin Horde will die out after a select number of enemies have been slain. Quest 30 will finish up after that. •Examine the Ruinscar of the Mountains to finally finish Quest 6. •Pick up your treasure from the chest. •Once Quest 31 is complete, use the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 6: Ruinscar of the Mountains ---------------------------------- Conditions: Locate the Ruinscar Reward: 9910XP You can first get this quest by speaking to Prince Adrian after completing The Shattered Labs of the Soul Void dungeon. After traversing Frosthome to get the location to finish this quest, traverse through the dungeon until you get to the end. Once Quest 31 is completed, examine the Ruinscar of the Mountains to finally wrap this quest up. Quest 29: Choose Alignment -------------------------- Conditions: Make your choice! Reward: 8464XP This quest will be given to you as soon as you head into The Frozen North. Head downhill from the initial cutscene area, and talk to the Goblin Colossus. Choosing to go against him will force you to fight him, while choosing to ally with him shall give you Quests 30 and 31. Quest 30: Predator and Prey --------------------------- Conditions: Capture 10 Goblin Hunters Reward: 7684XP, 2100 Gold This quest is given to you as soon as you finish Quest 29. You can start doing Quest 30 when you encounter Goblin Trappers for random encounters. Quest 30 automatically finishes once you have captured 10 Trapped Goblins. Quest 31: You had This Coming ----------------------------- Conditions: Destroy 6 Turrets, Destroy 3 Pumps, Defeat the Goblin Brigade Reward: LV19 Class Weapon, 19052XP, 1500 Gold This quest is given to you as soon as you finish Quest 29. Head along to the end of the level where you shall encounter a Goblin military encampment. In this military camp, you will need to contend with multiple Goblin types of enemies. ----- NEXUS ----- •Speak with Tomekeeper Theodore on the west end of the Noble District to receive Quest 32. •Go to Castle Arcanus and talk to Prince Adrian (indicated by the yellow ! icon on the minimap). He shall give you Quest 33. •Dispose of any extra equipment you do not need, then speak with Malleus Kinslan to enter the Soul Void, going specifically to Heart of the Void. ----------------- HEART OF THE VOID ----------------- •Enable Quest 32 as the active quest to make the Spellbooks needed for the quest appear on the mini-map as blue dots. Move forward into a circular chamber and examine a Spellbook on the ground for the first Spellbook of the level. •Explore the Heart of the Void. Early on, there should be a split, with at least one path leading you down a very, very long passageway that ultimately turns into a dead end. •Continuing down the 'true' path from the split will eventually take you to the first Waystone of the area, so activate it. •Continue to explore the dungeon. Of two more long paths, ignore a second Waystone if you come across it, and do not even touch it as it shall activate a boss battle. Instead, head along the other long path at wherever it splits off. •Eventually, you should stumble across Mia Moursey. Speak with her to activate Quest 34. Kill the Fiendish Flame Imp. Examine Mia's Ashes afterwards and pick them up. •Return to wherever the path splits off at, then continue along the other end to find the second Waystone of the area. Activating it will trigger a battle with the boss of this area, the Blade Devil. •The Blade Devil is man-sized, and, like many recent bosses, has no gimmick - he does not have immunity to damage during part of the battle, he does not summon smaller enemies to his side. What he does have, however, is a fairly painful enemy trait - Returns Damage When Hit. Every time you deal damage to the Blade Devil, you receive back some of the damage dealt to him in kind. As such, always keep an eye on your health bar, and heal up when you get low on health. Besides that, the Blade Devil has a tendency to teleport often once you hit him with an attack, but this does not protect him, merely delay the battle (and can be damn useful if you are using a long-range character, as you can shoot him from afar while he must get back in close to attack). The Blade Devil has three attacks - the first one is a charge, where he will dash forward extremely fast to strike at you. The second one is a couple of swings of his sword at your player-character when he is in close. The third one sees him spinning around with his sword outright, with a gravitational attraction pulling your character in, so move away from him when he does this to avoid falling into his sword spin. Other than that, just attack the Blade Devil, heal as needed, until he falls. •Open the treasure chest afterwards for some goodies. •Examine the Void Warding Device. Quest 35 will start. There are five coloured 'rings' on the ward, going from Green on the inside, then Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Red. If you examine the four circles that correspond to the first four rings, that respective coloured ring will turn CLOCKWISE, but any rings that are next to it will turn COUNTERCLOCKWISE. The Red ring does not move at all, so if you move the Blue or Green Ring, only it and one other ring will move, while moving the Yellow or Orange Rings will move two rings. What you need to do is eventually get the open space in all four moveable rings to line up with the red ring's open space. The best way to do this is to start with the Green Circle, and toggle the Green Ring so its open space is 180 degrees opposite of where it should be. Next, manipulate the Yellow Ring to cause the Orange Ring for its open spot to be in the direction facing 180 degrees away from the ward controls as well (by manipulating the Yellow Ring, the Green Ring is not affected). Finally, rotate the Blue Ring so that it faces TOWARDS the ward controls. Now, work on the Yellow Ring - you want it the Yellow Ring to be facing TOWARDS the ward controls. To do this, manipulate the Orange Ring until the Yellow Ring is facing the ward controls. If the Orange Ring and Green Ring are not both facing towards the ward controls, go to the Green Circle and manipulate the Green Ring so the Yellow Ring is no longer affected, forcing the Green and Orange Rings to rotate either 90 degrees, 180 degrees or 270 degrees to face the ward controls. When all five rings are aligned, the ward deactivates, finishing Quest 35. •Examine the Heart of the Void to finish Quest 33 and get Quest 36 in return. •Use the nearby Waystone leading into this chamber area to return to Nexus. Quest 32: Late Fees ------------------- Conditions: Collect 5 Spellbooks, Return to Tomekeeper Theodore in Nexus Reward: LV20 Random Gloves, 9091XP, 2700 Gold Speak with Tomekeeper Theodore on the west end of the Noble District to receive this quest. Inside Heart of the Void, enable Quest 32 as the active quest to make the Spellbooks needed for the quest appear on the mini-map as blue dots. Move forward into a circular chamber and examine a Spellbook on the ground for the first Spellbook of the level. The remaining four will be littered throughoug the level, so again use the mini-map to locate them. Once you have all five, return to Tomekeeper Theodore in Nexus and talk to him to finish up. Quest 33: Final Synthesis ------------------------- Conditions: Proceed to Heart of the Void, Reach the magical font Reward: 12466XP Go to Castle Arcanus in Nexus and talk to Prince Adrian (indicated by the yellow ! icon on the minimap). He shall give you Quest 33. Inside the Heart of the Void, travel through the map, until you reach the boss at the end of the level, the Blade Devil. The Blade Devil is man-sized, and, like many recent bosses, has no gimmick - he does not have immunity to damage during part of the battle, he does not summon smaller enemies to his side. Afterwards, examine the Void Warding Device, do Quest 35, then examine the Heart of the Void to finish this quest. Quest 34: A Family Matter ------------------------- Conditions: Defeat the demon released by Mia Moursey Reward: LV20 Random Boots, 9534XP, 1800 Gold Take one of the paths at the last major split of paths in the dungeon, and you will eventually wander upon Mia Moursey, who is denoted by a green ! icon on the mini-map. Talk to her to get this quest. Kill the Fiendish Flame Imp. Examine Mia's Ashes afterwards and pick them up, then head back to Nexus. Talk to Melony Moursey in front of the fountain in the Noble District to wrap up Quest 34. Quest 35: Maximum Security -------------------------- Conditions: Disable the wards Reward: 10264XP, 1200 Gold Examine the Void Warding Device after defeating the Blade Devil to obtain this quest. Quest 36: Triumph ----------------- Conditions: Return to Nexus Reward: 11000XP, 1650 Gold This quest is given to you once 33 finishes up. To complete this, simply use a Waystone to return to Nexus, and the quest is done automatically. ----- NEXUS ----- •Quest 36 automatically finishes after you watch a couple of cutscenes in Nexus. •Speak with Prince Adrian right north of where you arrive at to receive Quest 37. •Talk to Melony Moursey in front of the fountain in the Noble District to wrap up Quest 34. •Talk to Melony Moursey again right after to get Quest 38. •Chat with Tomekeeper Theodore on the west end of the Noble District to conclude Quest 32. •Speak with Nolan Hart at the base of the stairs leading into the Noble District down from Castle Arcanus for Quest 39. •Dispose of any extra equipment you do not need, then speak with Malleus Kinslan to enter the Soul Void, going specifically to Sorcerer's Vault. ---------------- SORCERER'S VAULT ---------------- •Move forward a very short distance from the entrance to Sorcerer's Vault to activate the first Waystone. •After the Waystone, you should come upon a large open area. Go to the center and examine the Scorch Marks. From here, continue along the one winding path that actually leads somewhere until you get to the area's second Waystone. •Continue on throughout the level, following the yellow ! icon on the mini-map. You should eventually come to an area with a blue vortex swirling in the center of the floor called The Well of Souls. Examine it and scatter Mia's ashes over it. Doing so will complete Quest 38. •Proceed to follow the yellow ! icon on the map, which only shows up if you got Quest 38 activated by talking to Nolan Hart in Nexus (if you did not, there is another yellow ! icon in the same area). Examine the Map of Ruins when you come to a lab area. •In the same lab area, examine the Wizard's Journal sitting on the desk to get Quest 40. •Backtrack all the way to near the start of the dungeon, before even the second Waystone, to the area where you found the Scorch Marks in the center of a square. On the way there, kill the multitudes of enemies that spawn, as you need at least one of each of the Elements mentioned in the Wizard's Journal - the Element of Water can be had from Null Imps, Element of Earth from Mantid Broodlords, Element of Fire from Gehenna Fiends, and the Element of Wind from Sword Devils. •Once you get to the beginning square, examine the four torches at the four corners to complete Quest 40 and gain Quest 41, which is basically you fighting the boss that just now appears, the Ashura of Pain. •The Ashura, which is basically a giant bird boss, will float around the fighting arena, following your player-character, and will stop only to make an attack. When it lands its feet on the ground, you know that it is rearing up for an attack. Two of its attacks are fairly harmless, aside from of course that they deal damage - the first one sees it striking you three times with pecks of its beak, and the second one involves the Ashura striking you with its wing. Its third attack, where it spits out a fireball, can be done at long-range, and will stun your player character if you get hit by it without your Block up. Other than that, it does not even have a teleportation technique or any other trick up its sleeve - it just wanders around the arena in pursuit of your character, so whittle its health down over time until it falls. •Examine the Shimmering Portal after to complete Quest 41. •From where you land out at (still in the same area as Sorcerer's Vault), activate the Waystone, then open the treasure chest for your item goodies. •Head up through the library and examine the Crystal Ball, then attack it. Speak with Eckhardt. Quest 37 will finish up. You shall also get Quest 42 in the process. •Walk back to the Waystone to enter the Infinite Cage. Quest 37: Evidence of Betrayal ------------------------------ Conditions: Search for evidence of treachery in the Sorcerer's Vault Reward: 10659XP, 2200 Gold Speak with Prince Adrian in Castle Arcanus in Nexus to first get this quest. Continue through the dungeon, until you fight the Ashura of Pain, and exit through the Shimmering Portal. Hit the Crystal Ball at the end with an actual physical attack to finish the quest. Quest 38: Dust to Dust ---------------------- Conditions: Enter the Sorcerer's Vault, Scatter Mia's Ashes in the Well of Souls Reward: LV21 Specific Class Weapon, 10659XP, 3750 Gold To get this quest, you must have first done Quest 34 in the Heart of the Void. Talk to Melony Moursey in Nexus, located in front of the fountain in the Noble District, to get this quest. Inside the Sorcerer's Vault, proceed along the regular pathway of the dungeon until you eventually come to an area with a big swirling blue vortex in the middle of the floor with the label 'Well of Souls'. Spread Mia's Ashes in the Well to complete the quest automatically. Quest 39: The Ruins of Veil --------------------------- Conditions: Find the map of the ancient ruins, Return it to Nolan Hart in Nexus Reward: LV21 Ancient Coin, 9746XP Speak with Nolan Hart at the base of the stairs in the Noble District in Nexus leading up to Castle Arcanus to get this quest. Inside the Sorcerer's Vault, continue through the dungeon until you get to a lab/study area. On a bookshelf in the middle, examine the Map of Ruins (which has blue sparkles to denotate its location). Return to Nolan Hart in Nexus and speak with him to finish up. Quest 40: Elementalism 101 -------------------------- Conditions: Obtain Fire from a Fiend, Earth from a Mantid, Water from an Imp, Wind from a Devil, Light up the four pedestals Reward: 12788XP At the end of the area of Sorcerer's Vault, examine the Wizard's Journal. While backtracking towards the beginning of the level where the Scorch Marks were in the middle of the floor (and where Quest 40 will lead into Quest 41), kill the multitudes of enemies that spawn, as you need at least one of each of the Elements mentioned in the Wizard's Journal - the Element of Water can be had from Null Imps, Element of Earth from Mantid Broodlords, Element of Fire from Gehenna Fiends, and the Element of Wind from Sword Devils. Once you get to the beginning square that had the Scorch Marks, and have all four needed items, examine the four torches at the four corners to complete Quest 40. Quest 41: Ashura of Pain ------------------------ Conditions: Kill the Ashura of Pain Reward: 13326XP Quest 41 leads in directly from Quest 40, and is a boss battle quest with the Ashura of Pain. The Ashura, which is basically a giant bird boss, will float around the fighting arena, following your player-character, and will stop only to make an attack. When it lands its feet on the ground, you know that it is rearing up for an attack. Two of its attacks are fairly harmless, aside from of course that they deal damage - the first one sees it striking you three times with pecks of its beak, and the second one involves the Ashura striking you with its wing. Its third attack, where it spits out a fireball, can be done at long- range, and will stun your player character if you get hit by it without your Block up. Other than that, it does not even have a teleportation technique or any other trick up its sleeve - it just wanders around the arena in pursuit of your character, so whittle its health down over time until it falls. Quest 42: A Last Goodbye ------------------------ Conditions: Speak with Katrina in Nexus Reward: LV21 Memento of Eckhardt, 9898XP, 2000 Gold Quest 42 is given to you automatically as soon as you get Quest 37 done. After the events of the next dungeon, return to Nexus and talk to Katrina in the Castle Arcanus area of the city to finish the quest. ------------- INFINITE CAGE ------------- •Quest 43 will be given to you automatically upon entering the Infinite Cage. •Examine the five Clues spread around the area via the blue sparkles that indicate their location. •Head up to the bars and speak with Fironel to finish Quest 43. •Go up and chat with Fironel again to get Quest 44. •Continue forward to activate the dungeon's first Waystone. •From now on, continue to explore the dungeon of the Infinite Cage. As you go through the corridors, you will come across a four-way corridor, with some of the paths resulting in dead ends, and other paths resulting in more four-way corridors. These go on for quite a while, so you can expect to hit several dead areas and eliminate multiple possibilities until you finally stumble upon the second Waystone of the dungeon. •Speak with Fironel once you get there. •From then on, you will have to take on an endless horde of demons from the Soul Void area. I have not seen this horde run out to my knowledge, so stick around and fight a little if you want to get some more item drops and XP (assuming you are LV24 or under - LV25 and up XP gains are minimal for these monsters). Once done, go around the room to the four corners and examine the four catalysts to open the portal. Go and enter the portal afterwards to head back to Nexus. Quest 43: Caged and Confused ---------------------------- Conditions: Find 5 Clues, Disable the Barrier Reward: 13745XP This quest is given to you automatically as you enter Infinite Cage. Merely go around the room you start at, examining the five clues on the ground indicated by the blue sparkle, then go speak with Fironel to wrap up the quest. Quest 44: Powering the Portal ----------------------------- Conditions: Meet up with Fironel, Reopen the portal to Nexus, Head back to Nexus Reward: 15797XP Speak with Fironel right after completing Quest 43 to get this quest. Head through the dungeon and around the many dead-ends until you get to the second Waystone, and talk to Fironel again. From then on, you will have to take on an endless horde of demons from the Soul Void area. Once you land back in Nexus the Quest finishes. ----- NEXUS ----- •Quest 44 is automatically finished as soon as you enter the area. •Speak with King Marcus in Castle Arcanus to get Quest 45. •Chat with Katrina to wrap up Quest 42 from earlier. •Continue down the stairs and into the Noble District, and speak with Nolan Hart at the base of the stairs to finally complete Quest 39. •Dispose of any extra equipment you do not need, then speak with Malleus Kinslan to enter the Soul Void. This time, head to The Archmage's Crucible. ----------------------- THE ARCHMAGE'S CRUCIBLE ----------------------- •As you enter, you should notice multiple ! icons floating around you map. Follow along in the direction of the ! icons, and one of them will take you to a Pulsating Energy Field. Examining it shall give you Quest 46. •Down another path, on a split after getting past one of the dungeon's Waystones, will lead you to a Fiendish Door. Examine it to get Quest 47. •Now, what this Fiendish Door and three others in the level require you to do are to kill several enemies in a specific order, without killing any enemies in between. They tell you the enemies to kill by giving you the riddle. You do not go out into the corridor waiting for an enemy to spawn - rather, you examine the frozen statues frozen in glowing light around each square area in front of the Fiendish Door to make a single one of that enemy appear in the centre of the square. •So, with Quest 47, you should kill a Phantom Wraith, then a Blaze Imp, then a second Phantom Wraith, topped off by an Ashura of Fury. Take down the Keeper of Time guardian that appears, then examine the Control Crystal to activate it and complete Quest 47. •On the passageway opposite that leads you to the Fiendish Door, will lead you to a second Fiendish Door that gives you Quest 48. •To do Quest 48, take out a Blaze Imp, then a Razor Devil, and finally a Doom Fiend, along with the Keeper of Space which appears. Activate the Control Crystal to complete Quest 48. •Past a second Waystone in the area down another passageway from at an early split in the dungeon, and you will get to a third Fiendish Door from which you can get Quest 49. •For Quest 49, examine first the Blaze Imp, kill it, then the Nether Imp, slay it, and finally the Doom Fiend. Finish off the Keeper of Light enemy that appears to activate the Control Crystal and complete Quest 49. •As can be expected, in the opposite direction (while still past the second Waystone) is a fourth Fiendish Door which grants you Quest 50. •For Quest 50, you must kill first a Doom Fiend, then an Ashura of Fury, then a Nether Imp, and finally a Lava Fiend. Take out the Keeper of Darkness and activate the fourth and final Control Crystal and complete Quest 50. •Once Quests 47, 48, 49 and 50 are all done, with the four Control Crystals all activated, head down the long, winding path to the Pulsating Energy Field. Examine it again and watch a short scene to finish Quest 46 up and take on Archmage Rigel. •Rigel is a glass-cannon boss for most of the fight despite all the expectations that you may have built up coming into this fight. Most of the time, he will send out one, three or five small blasts of black energy which fizzle out without doing much (relatively) damage to your player-character. More annoying is the huge amount of demon enemies that he summons - take care of them when they get far too numerous, but otherwise focus your attention on whittling Rigel's health down. Rigel will also leave behind a small ritual circle after he teleports which slows your character down if you get caught in its radius. After you deal a bit of damage to him, he will teleport to one of the corners and summon up a Focusing Obelisk. Chase after him and hit the Focusing Obelisk to break it open, and he will be forced to do battle with you again. After the first Focusing Obelisk has been broken, Rigel will be able to send out large glowing green balls of energy. AVOID THESE, as they do not fizzle out when they hit your player-character - rather, they will continue to go through your player-character, dealing damage all the time while it is still active, and so can suddenly wipe out all your health if you are not carefully tracking it. When Rigel is near low health is when he finally pulls out a dangerous status effect - being able to inverse your controls if you get too close to him while he is in the centre of the arena (indicated by yellow sparks above your head). Just focus on him, continue to pummel him with attacks, until he falls. Quest 45 will finish afterwards, and you shall also get Quest 51. •Open the treasure chest that appears for your battle rewards. •Use the Waystone to return to Nexus. Quest 45: The Archnemesis ------------------------- Conditions: Defeat Rigel Reward: LV23 Emblem of the Archmage, 21296XP This dungeon is obtained in Nexus automatically by talking to King Marcus. Once you enter The Archmage's Crucible, tour the area and explore, and complete Quest 46, which itself requires Quests 47, 48, 49 and 50 to be finished. You will then take on Archmage Rigel as a boss. Rigel is a glass-cannon boss for most of the fight despite all the expectations that you may have built up coming into this fight. After you deal a bit of damage to Rigel, he will teleport to one of the corners and summon up a Focusing Obelisk. Quest 45 finishes afterwards. Quest 46: Price of Admission ---------------------------- Conditions: Gather 4 Crystals Reward: 16051XP Once you enter The Archmage's Crucible, tour the area and explore, and down one of the paths, you will find a Pulsating Energy Field. Examine it to get Quest 46 added. Go and do Quests 47, 48, 49 and 50, and complete all four of them, then return to the Pulsating Energy Field. Examine it once more to finish Quest 46. Quest 47: Key of Time --------------------- Conditions: Unlock the Quest-specific Fiendish Door Reward: 15972XP Quest 47 is located down one of the side paths in The Archmage's Crucible. Speak with the Fiendish Door to get your riddle of enemies to kill. You must examine the frozen statues frozen in glowing light around each square area in front of the Fiendish Door to make a single one of that enemy appear in the centre of the square. In order, you should kill a Phantom Wraith, then a Blaze Imp, then a second Phantom Wraith, topped off by an Ashura of Fury. Take down the Keeper of Time guardian that appears, then examine the Control Crystal to activate it and complete Quest 47. Quest 48: Key of Space ---------------------- Conditions: Unlock the Quest-specific Fiendish Door Reward: 15972XP Quest 48 is located down one of the side paths in The Archmage's Crucible. Speak with the Fiendish Door to get your riddle of enemies to kill. You must examine the frozen statues frozen in glowing light around each square area in front of the Fiendish Door to make a single one of that enemy appear in the centre of the square. In order, you should take out a Blaze Imp, then a Razor Devil, and finally a Doom Fiend, along with the Keeper of Space which appears. Activate the Control Crystal to complete Quest 48. Quest 49: Key of Light ---------------------- Conditions: Unlock the Quest-specific Fiendish Door Reward: 15972XP Quest 49 is located down one of the side paths in The Archmage's Crucible. Speak with the Fiendish Door to get your riddle of enemies to kill. You must examine the frozen statues frozen in glowing light around each square area in front of the Fiendish Door to make a single one of that enemy appear in the centre of the square. In order, you should examine first the Blaze Imp, kill it, then the Nether Imp, slay it, and finally the Doom Fiend. Finish off the Keeper of Light enemy that appears to activate the Control Crystal and complete Quest 49. Quest 50: Key of Darkness ------------------------- Conditions: Unlock the Quest-specific Fiendish Door Reward: 15972XP Quest 50 is located down one of the side paths in The Archmage's Crucible. Speak with the Fiendish Door to get your riddle of enemies to kill. You must examine the frozen statues frozen in glowing light around each square area in front of the Fiendish Door to make a single one of that enemy appear in the centre of the square. In order, you must kill first a Doom Fiend, then an Ashura of Fury, then a Nether Imp, and finally a Lava Fiend. Take out the Keeper of Darkness and activate the fourth and final Control Crystal and complete Quest 50. Quest 51: The Betrayer ---------------------- Conditions: Return to Nexus, Speak with Prince Solon Reward: 9825XP You will get this quest after completing Quest 45. Return to Nexus via the Waystone, and speak with Prince Solon in the Castle Arcanus area to finish. ----- NEXUS ----- •Head down to Prince Solon in Castle Arcanus and speak with him to finish Quest 51 and receive Quest 52. •Dispose of any extra equipment you do not need, then speak with Malleus Kinslan to enter the Soul Void. This time, head to Ruin's End. ---------- RUIN'S END ---------- •Head forward up the staircase and activate the first Waystone. •Examine the Strange Illusions in front of the Waystone. Afterwards, take care of the enemies that appear. The Royal Imp is Protected by Allies, so kill everything else off first before executing it. •One of the paths that split up will lead you towards a second Waystone, along with another Strange Illusions. Examine it as well, kill a couple of monsters after, then continue on. •Move ahead until you hit Waystone number three. •Look around to find another Strange Illusions, and examine it for another short scene. •In the area around where you found the last Strange Illusions, explore around to find two more Strange Illusions next to a figure of Eckhardt and then King Marcus respectively. •Kill the three enemies that show up afterwards, then follow along to the dungeon's fourth Waystone. •Continue on and watch a scene, followed by a fight with the Ashura of Duplicity. •The Ashura of Duplicity is much like an earlier boss, the Ashura of Pain, just a lot smaller and a lot easier to kill. Like the Ashura of Pain, the Ashura of Duplicity will float around the fighting arena, following your player -character, and will stop only to make an attack. When it lands its feet on the ground, you know that it is rearing up for an attack. One of its attacks is fairly harmless, aside from of course that it deals damage - it shall strike you three times with pecks of its beak. Its second attack, where it spits out a fireball, can be done at long-range, and will burn your player character for several seconds if you get hit by it without your Block up. At slightly more than half health remaining is where it heavily deviates from the Ashura of Pain, and showing where it gets its name - the Ashura will duplicate itself three times, and start attack you at the same time as its three clones. The three false Ashuras are all a lot weaker than the real one is, but they can still attack you and burn you, and will explode once they drop to a low enough health or if they are killed altogether. Keep your distance if you can, keep a close eye on your health bar, and continue to fend off the Ashura of Duplicity. It will duplicate at least once more likely before it finally falls in battle. •Leaving at this time and then returning will force you to fight the Ashura of Duplicity again, so instead head down to the fifth and final Waystone of the dungeon, where after watching a scene, you can either return to Nexus or take on the final boss, Ruinlord Adrian. •In the giant battlefield in which you must fight Ruinlord Adrian in, there are numerous large crystals floating around. When destroyed, they will yield either Energy Potions or Health Potions that you should occasionally run around to get to replenish your supply as Ruinlord Adrian whittles it down. Fortunately, Adrian's monstrous form lends itself to a lot of collateral damage, as he will shatter many of the crystals on his own throughout the battle. You need only pick up Potions, and not go through the effort of destroying the crystals. Additionally, the crystals will regenerate throughout the course of the battle, but only one or two at a time, as opposed to all at once. As for Ruinlord Adrian, the prince-cum-Ruinlord starts the battle off with numerous attacks, many of them which can be annoying if employed in quick succession. His largest attack sends out a tremor of energy that causes a blast with a large radius around him, and is unblockable, and can cause you to temporarily have the Burn effect. In a second technique, he can shoot a blue ball of energy out in front of him which will cause steady damage to your player-character so long as you are standing inside the blue circle that is formed. This is a particularly annoying attack when coupled with his next technique, where if he hits you at a close range, he can slow your movement. Finally, he will also occasionally spit out up to three fireballs at once that home in on you, and take a long time to fizzle out. If any one of them hits you, they will not damage you, but they will lock your ability to use Energy attacks for several seconds (this is blockable, however). During this initial part of the battle, I suggest you prioritise the attacks you can and cannot avoid - let him hit you with fireballs, as the Energy locking only lasts a few seconds, as well as his normal powerful attacks. If, however, he either slows your movement or brings out the blue circle that saps at your HP, run away from him, as if he brings the opposite technique in play, you have something where you are moving slowly to get out of an energy-sucking circle. As always, keep an eye on your health bar and heal up when you get low, especially important for this match. •After you injure Ruinlord Adrian a little bit (but not much), the fight changes. He will summon a Void Titan, which is a glass cannon - it can confuse your character if you get hit (causes your controls to become inverse), but takes only a few hits to bring down. When Ruinlord Adrian comes back, however, and takes a little damage, he will launch your character up high into the air. Here comes a bit of nifty gameplay - you will be high up in the sky and slowly be falling down back to the battlefield, while Adrian spits fireballs up at you. These fireballs do a poor attempt at homing in on you, so just use the Circle Pad to float around out of the general range of the fireballs until you finally touch ground again. •The new Ruinlord becomes a bit more aggressive this time around, actively chasing after you faster, and has a new attack where he rears back and slams the ground in front of him, sending a shockwave out. Not only does this temporarily Stun your character as well, but it is also unblockable. If you are using a long-range fighter, definitely stick far away from him. Should you be wielding a close-range warrior, you will just have to bear it out with a grin. Adrian will also from time to time disappear, and start sending sparks of lightning down onto the battlefield. Thankfully, these are easier to detect, as the marks on the arena where the lighting will strike are indicated well beforehand by glowing red spots. •At about half health, Adrian will summon a Void Titan again, followed by throwing you into the sky again for a repeat of the falling game once more. After this, he shows yet two new abilities. In the first one, he can flash the entire arena with a slow-movement technique, though he rarely uses this. In the second technique, he will disappear and call down lightning again, but this technique is a more active technique, as a ball of energy will fall you, and glowing red spots will appear underneath you only a few seconds before they activate, with the technique lasting quite a while and creating several lightning spots before it finally dissipates and ends. •At a quarter health, Adrian does not summon a Void Titan anymore, but he will cast you up into the sky again. Whittle his health down afterwards, using the Health Potions to keep you alive for the final stretch, until you finally manage to defeat him. •After that ordeal of a final battle, examine the treasure chest to get some final good treasure. •Examine the Energized Crystal and return to Nexus. Quest 52: The Prince of Ruin ---------------------------- Conditions: Defeat Adrian, Return the Crystal to Nexus Reward: LV25 Spite of the Fallen Prince, 26375XP, 4000 Gold Talk to Prince Solon in Nexus in the Castle Arcanus area to get this quest. After, Quest 52 is completed. •You can still go and fight monsters in the dungeons and collect loot drops. However, there are no more bosses or boss respawns, and at LV28, all monsters give 1XP. To level up to Level 30, you will need to piggyback off of somebody else's online game and receive shared XP from that person finishing his or her missions, or else repeat Doctor Skalding's Poison Cure quest (which can be rather tedious). Notes As long as a ! mark remains next to an area name there is still a quest to be finished there ________________________________________________________________________________ Need help with something that's not in this FAQ?
