Legal Stuff ============== Part 1. Introduction ============== Well here is my very first guide ever and it's on breeding flowers in Animal Crossing: Wild World since I've gotten pretty good at it. Anyhow the two main reasons to breed hybrid flowers are 1) to sell the hybrids and make money and 2) to make your town look nicer. In this guide I will list all the flower types and their prices to sell them at Tom Nook's and how to get each type of flower. I will also give you some ways to plant your flowers to get the most out of your flower breeding. ============== Part 1a. Growing Flowers ============== Every day 3-5 flowers will grow in your town. A few flowers are completely random and will only be one of the three basic colors. Sad to say there's no way to stop this. The rest are flowers that grew from parent flowers and will be either the color of one of the parent colors, or a hybrid color. You may not get a hybrid color every single day but as long as you care for your flowers and keep only hybrid producing flowers touching you will get a hybrid sooner or later (Usually soon. :D) Also, Hybrids will appear in an empty spot directly next to one of the parent flowers that spawned it. The same applies to flowers that grew from parents but are just basic colors. The random flowers can appear anywhere in your town. Also The more flowers you have in your town increases your chances of breeding a flower greatly. ============== Part 1b. Caring for your flowers ============== Every day you should go through your town and water your "dying" flowers. (And also pick up and move any new flowers that appeared) These are the flowers that have turned brown and look wilted. They only need to be watered once, but multiple times do not hurt. When watering try to make sure the water goes to about the middle of the flowers. If you unsure whether or not it got watered, just water it again but maybe do it from a different angle to be sure. Also note that watering does not increase your chances of making a hybrid but if you do not water your flowers when they wilt, they will die and disappear. Watering does not affect non-wilted flowers in any way. Also (again lol) If it is raining in your town, you do not need to water your flowers for that day. The rain counts as watering your flowers. ============== Part 2. Flower Breeding ============== In order to breed flowers, Two flowers of the same type must be touching, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Horizontal Vertical Diagonal XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXFFXXX XXXFXXX XXXFXXX XXXXXXX XXXFXXX XXXXFXX When breeding flowers the parent flowers have a chance of producing either 1)a normal flower that is the color of one of the parents or 2) a hybrid flower that is a special color. This means you can breed a hybrid flower with another hybrid of the same type to get more hybrids. Example. A Red Rose and a Yellow Rose can produce either: a Red Rose, A Yellow Rose or an Orange Rose. Whereas an Orange Rose and a Red rose can produce either: a Red Rose or another Orange Rose. also, An Orange Rose and a Pink Rose can produce either an Orange Rose or a Pink Rose. ============== Part 4. Optimal Flower Breeding ============== Here are some examples of how to plant your flowers so they will have a better chance to breed a rare flower. when placing flowers try to keep only flowers that have a chance of spawning a hybrid touching. like let Red and Yellow Cosmos touch each other but try not to let Yellow and White cosmos touch each other. I would recommend going through your town and putting all your flowers like this making it so that only flowers that have a possibility of producing a hybrid are touching. Now you'll notice these plots all have a row of red then either a row of yellow or white then another row of red, then a row of yellow or white again, with the Yellow and white colors alternating. And you'll also probably notice there are no rows of Red touching. Ill explain this later. For these grids R = Red version of flower, W = White, Y = Yellow, and B = Boundry of your garden. Basically you want to plant all your flowers like this, touching diagonally. Also make sure only the same breeds of flowers are touching.(Roses,Tulips etc.) B B B B B B B B B BR R R R R R R RB B Y Y Y Y Y Y Y B BR R R R R R R RB B W W W W W W W B BR R R R R R R RB B Y Y Y Y Y Y Y B BR R R R R R R RB B W W W W W W W B BR R R R R R R RB B Y Y Y Y Y Y Y B BR R R R R R R RB B B B B B B B B B Part 4b. Except for the hybrids you get from same color flower breeding, Like Red roses and Red roses, or White pansies with White pansies. For the colors of flowers that produce hybrids with themselves, like most (but not all) red flowers I would recommend planting them around your neighbours houses in the spots they randomly plant flowers. This will keep them from planting random flowers and give you more chances to get hybrids. EXAMPLE F = Where you should put a Flower, H = Their house, O = The open spot where their door is. FHHHHF FHHHHF FHHHHF FHHHHF FFFOFF FFFFFF Remember to use only one type of flower per each house, (Red Roses only or Yellow Tulips only) The Flowers you would want to surround your neighbours houses with are: Red Roses White Roses Red Tulips Yellow Tulips Red Cosmos Red Pansies White Pansies ============== Part 5.Frequently Asked Questions ============== Q: I have found a flower not listed in your guide, Its called a "Sun Cosmos" A: A Sun Cosmos Is what the Yellow Cosmos are actually called in the game. Q: Ive planted my flowers but Im not getting in hybrids why? A: A, either you waited one day or B, You waited at least a week and still got no Hybrids. As I said before, It can take many days to get a hybrid so have patience. If you have waited at least a week, Then you must have flowers touching that can't possibly breed hybrids So check your gardens for different species flowers touching and also for colors touching that dont breed. Q: Do Jacobs ladded or Dandylions count as weeds? A: No I do not believe so. ============== Part 6.
