Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Script Brought to you by DJ Firewolf, formerly of KH Impulse and KH Excursion. Produced in partnership with KH-Recharged.com Do NOT claim as your own! However, enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ??????: Good-bye. Sora: No, not good-bye! When I wake up, I'll find you. And then there will be no lies. We're gonna be friends for real. Promise me, Naminé. (They lock their pinky fingers together and shake) ?????? (narrating): So, now we've taken two journeys. One to stop the darkness from spreading, and the other to put all the lost hearts back where they belong. To tell the truth, neither one was easy, but I sure was glad to be the cricket to write down what happened. Two journeys, both sittin' quiet right here in these two books. (Two small brown books sit on a desk, both emblazoned with a crown seal) Jiminy (narrating): But now, looks like the only thing left in one of 'em is a single line. (The pages of the first book turn to read "Thank Naminé") Jiminy (narrating): Of course, maybe that's because they're the only words this book was meant to hold and it's time to close it for good. But...who exactly is this "Naminé"? (The pages turn to a page near the end of the book, and Jiminy's eyes widen at another message: "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it". Jiminy puts a hand to his head in confusion. He rushes to the Library of Disney Castle with book in hand. King Mickey sits at his desk as Jiminy explains everything to him) Mickey: A mysterious message? Jiminy: Uh-huh. I certainly didn't write it. And you know I never once let the journal out of my sight. I don't know when anybody woulda had a chance to... Mickey: Hmm... "Their hurting will be mended"? Gosh, Jiminy. Sound like somebody needs help and doesn't know what to do. Let's get to the bottom of this. Jiminy: Of course, but how? All of the other pages are completely blank. Mickey: Sure, the words you wrote are gone, but that doesn't mean the journal is empty. (Later, Donald and Goofy arrive as Chip and Dale race around the table) Donald (to Goofy): Do you know what they're up to? Goofy (shrugging): Nope. Chip: Your Majesty! Everything's ready! (He salutes Mickey) Dale: Your Majesty! What Chipper said! (He salutes Mickey and Chip jumps onto an odd yellow button on the table. With a burst of smoke, a large computer with several screens appears. Chip then pulls a lever on it's side and a laser is directed on to Jiminy's journal in a top chamber. The main monitor displays readouts of the journal. On the screen, the book opens, pages fluttering, and pictures of the various worlds contained in it appear. A red light on the machine blinks and a beep is heard. The screen then fills with red and black blocks, covering the various worlds) Dale: Hey, what's goin' on! Chip: Jiminy's journal-- I think it's gone completely nuts! Dale: Nuts? Where? Chip: That's not what I mean! (Dale takes a step back) Chip: I don't know what's causing it exactly, but there's something wrong with the worlds inside the journal. And we can't analyze that message for you, either! Mickey: Hmm, isn't there something else we can try? (Chip and Dale hop over to the computer, typing different keys) Goofy: Gawrsh, maybe if we could get in there somehow and fix the data, we could figure out what's wrong. Chip: Hey, that's it! We could look for somebody already in the journal and ask them to explore the worlds and repair the data. That's a great idea, Goofy! Jiminy: Somebody to explore the data from the inside... (Mickey gets an idea) Mickey: And I think we know just the guy to do it! Am I right, fellas? (Chip and Dale jump in excitement. Later, in a large dark area in the datascape, a spiky-haired boy floats down as if through water. Bits of data float around him, blinking in and out, carrying numbers and symbols. The boy's form turns right-side up and he lands on his feet, creating a ripple in the digital floor. He opens his eyes and looks around him, seeing a large green platform of a young girl in a yellow dress who is biting into an apple) ??????: Can you hear me? Now, step forward. Can you do it? (The boy walks slowly toward a blinking light. As he approaches, the light vanishes, and three small carved stones rise out of the platform) ??????: Power sleeps within you. (With a wisp of magic, a red shield appears over one of the stones, floating in wait) ??????: If you give it form... (A staff appears) ??????: It will give you strength. (A strong sword appears. The boy looks to each one in turn) ??????: Choose well. (He walks over to the sword and picks it up) ??????: The power of the warrior. Invincible courage. A sword of terrible destruction. Is this the power you seek? (The boy chooses and the sword vanishes) ??????: Your path is set. (He looks to the other two weapons) ??????: Now what will you give up in exchange? (He walks over to the shield and carries it) ??????: The power of the guardian. Kindness to aid friends. A shield to repel all. You give up this power? (The boy chooses and the shield disappears) ??????: You've chosen the power of the warrior. You've given up the power of the guardian. Is this the form you choose? (The boy agrees and the three stones sink into the platform. Meanwhile, Mickey and friends are watching this from the real world) Chip: We're in business! That takes care of rewriting Sora. Donald: Rewriting? Dale: Yep! We rigged it so he can use the Keyblade already. Chip: And now he can help us un-glitch the journal data! (An alarm sounds from the computer, causing Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Jiminy to jump in alarm. Chip and Dale search around for the source of the problem) Mickey: Is something wrong? Dale: Could be somethin' gumming up the system. Chip: Wait here. We'll hop next door and have a look! (Later, the alarm is stopped) Jiminy: Well, I guess Chip and Dale figured the problem out. Goofy: So, uh, Your Majesty... What is it we're doing, exactly? Mickey: Oh! Somebody wrote a strange message in Jiminy's journal. And the only way to find out who is by analyzing the book. Donald: What does the message say? Mickey: "Their hurting will be mended when you--" Jiminy: No! No, no, that can't be right... Mickey: Really? I'm pretty sure that's what it said, Jiminy. Donald: Wak! Not the message! Look at the monitor. What's HE doing there? Goofy: Gawrsh, I thought Sora said he was alone in that dream. Jiminy: That's what I wrote in the journal! So how come that's not what we're seeing? (In the data world, a man in a black coat stands before Sora) Sora: Who are you? (The man turns to face him, saying nothing, before walking away. Sora moves to follow him but stops when he hears a voice) Mickey: Listen! Can you hear me? You have to go after him! (Steps of stained glass appear at the edge of the platform and the man ascends them. Sora follows and reaches a second platform, this one pink with silhouettes. The man is missing) Sora: Hmph. No sign of him. (Several black creatures appear) Mickey: Watch out! Heartless! Use your powers! Sora: Uh... Use my WHAT? (With a flash of light, a Keyblade appears in his hand) Sora: How did...? (Sora readies for battle) ??????: You've gained the power to fight. And this is your power to survive. There will be times you have to fight. Keep your light burning strong. (Sora takes out the Heartless) ??????: All right! You've got it. (More appear around him) ??????: Careful, you're surrounded! (He takes out the horde and an ornate door appears. Sora walks over to it) Mickey: Now, open the door. Hold out the Keyblade. (Sora points the Keyblade toward the door and a beam of light shoots out. Sora enters the Destiny Islands) Sora: Huh? How'd I get back home? Mickey: Sora... Sora: That voice again... Who's talking to me? Mickey: Sora, are you okay? Sora: How do you know my name? Have we met? Mickey: Gee, well...sort of. I'm Mickey. Let's just say I know you, Sora. And Sora knows me. (Sora looks very confused) Mickey: We're good friends! Sora: Well... I guess that makes sense... Sort of... No, that definitely doesn't make any sense. Mickey: You see, I'm from another world and-- Gosh, it's a long story. There's this mystery me and my friends are tryin' to solve. But we can't get to your world, so we were hopin' you'd lend a hand. Sora: What do I have to do? Mickey: Just take a look around. We're counting on you. Sora: Well...okay. But fill me in about what's going on! I mean, you have to admit this is pretty weird. How about I explore the island, and you steer me along? Mickey: It's a deal! I'll give you the details as we go. Sora (smiling): Great! Mickey: Okay, so the first things we're looking for are "glitches." Anything out of the ordinary. (Sora sees large piles of red and black blocks scattered around the island) Sora: Well, that's easy. These blocks! How'd they get on the island? Mickey: Perfect! That's part of our mystery. (Sora crosses his arms in thought) Sora: All right, then. I'll try asking around. Mickey: Thanks. And remember, Sora... We might be worlds apart, but just say the word and I'll do my best to guide you. (Sora sees a girl in a yellow jumper and speaks to her) ???????: Sora, where have you been!? Sora: Hey, Selphie. Selphie: Would you look at the island? We're up to our ears in blocks! (They gaze at a pile nearby) Sora: Who put 'em here? Selphie: Nobody! They keep popping up out of thin air. We'll all be buried alive at this rate. That's if Tidus and Wakka aren't "six blocks under" already. Sora: Why? Where'd they go? Selphie: Down to the beach to investigate. Sora: Well, that's not far. I'll go see what's up. (Sora runs to the beach and sees Wakka) Wakka: Hey! Sora! Things are gettin' hairy here, ya? You okay, brudda? Sora: It's been an interesting day. Where did these blocks come from, Wakka? Wakka: They just kinda showed up. Before ya know it, they're everywhere. Except... (He looks up) Wakka: What's that block up there? I never seen one with that pattern. Sora: I'll go check it out! Wakka: You sure? Sora: Yeah, wait here. (Sora climbs a pile of blocks and reaches a silver one with a star symbol. He smashes it and an item falls out. Sora reports back to Wakka) Sora: There was something inside the block! Wakka: Really? Anything useful? Sora: Actually, yeah! Wakka: Okay, hotshot, then do me a favor. Check up on Tidus for me. We split up to investigate. He can't have gone too far, but you know him-- he's probably in over his head. Sora: No worries, I'll bail him out. Wakka: Thanks, brudda! (Sora searches around the island for Tidus, running into the man in the black cloak) Sora: Huh? You again! (The man walks to a door and phases into it) Sora (shocked): Mickey, did he just... Mickey: Sora, I'm picking up some kind of signal. Wait, I'm analyzing it and... Yep, no question. There's some kind of invisible door near your position. Sora: Invisible door? Is that another glitch? Let me look around. I think I saw where that guy disappeared. Mickey: Great! I'll watch the signal and let you know if you're getting hot or cold. I think we're finally on to something! Sora: Me too! (Sora runs to the wooden door and touches it. Pieces of data fly out, revealing a hole in the door. Red lines of code stream in the blackness of the hole) Sora: This has to be where he went. Well, here goes nothing... (Sora enters the strange portal to investigate, reaching the system sector. The walls and floor give off a red glow. In the area below, Sora sees a group of Heartless blinking in and out of sight, data streaming around them. He defeats the enemies and the red glow becomes blue, creating a beam of light in the room. He walks over to the beam and reenters the digital stream. Sora reappears back on the beach of the Destiny Islands) Sora: Well, I'm back in one piece. But where'd that guy in the hood go? (He stares as the wooden bridge to a nearby sandbar appears out of digital thin air) Sora: Whoa! Hello, bridge. Beating the Heartless in that weird place must've...brought it back, somehow. (Sora crosses the bridge and finds Tidus) Tidus: Yo, Sora! Sora: Tidus, there you are! Wakka was worried. Tidus: Man, did you see that? The missing bridge, it just...popped back into existence! And these blocks... Last I checked, it's not April Fools'. Sora: Too bad we don't know what's causing all this. Tidus: Heh heh, or DO we? Sora (wide-eyed): No way! You figured out where the blocks came from? Tidus: Well...no... But I found a clue. Sora: Really? Tidus: What do you think I've been doing all day--having a laugh? Okay, you asked for it. Sora: Uh-oh, here he goes. Tidus: You wanna know about the clue I found, you'll just have to earn it. Sora: All right, you're on! Tidus: No holding back, now. (Sora spars with Tidus and wins) Tidus: Oof... I keep forgetting how tough you are. Sora: Just don't forget what you promised. Tidus: I know! The clue, right? Yeesh... Okay, so I saw this stranger walking around the island... Sora: Uh-huh? Tidus: Well, don't ya think the timing is just a LITTLE suspicious? First these blocks show up, and then some weirdo in a black coat? Sora: Black coat? You saw that guy!? Tidus: Over by the waterfall. Then I looked away for one second, and he was gone. Sora: The waterfall. Got it! Thanks, Tidus. (Sora runs to the Secret Place near the waterfall and enters) Sora: I don't get it. Where'd he go? (He sees a wooden door without a knob at the end of the tunnel) Sora: Through that door? (The ground starts to shake and Sora takes out his Keyblade) Sora: Whoa! Wh-what's...? ????????: There's a road for the taking if you end our world's aching. Sora: Who said that? Not Mickey... (Sora's Keyblade gives off a shining light. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy watch from the real world) Mickey: Huh? What... What's that bright light? (The light grows brighter and extends past the computer) Donald: Wak! I can't see a thing! (The light dissipates, but the room is the same) Goofy: Gawrsh, what happened? I'm still seein' stars, a-hyuck! Jiminy: Huh!? Not again... Look, the journal! (They look at the computer screen) Jiminy: There's a new entry! Mickey: Another message!? Let's see... "There's a road for the taking if you end our world's aching." Donald: What does THAT mean? Mickey: The world is aching? Jiminy: Not just "the" world. "Our" world... Goofy: Huh? Hey, look at the monitor! Mickey: Hey, it's him! Sora: Whose voice was that? ????????: This world has been connected. (The cloaked man appears) Sora: Huh? Hey, I've been looking for you! ????????: Tied to the --------. Sora: What? ????????: There is a road you must take. But first, you must end our world's aches. Sora: What "aches"? Are you talking about the blocks? ????????: To make this place whole, the Keyhole's the place. Sora: Another riddle... (The man vanishes into the shadows) Sora: Hey, wait! I'm not done with you! (Sora starts to run after him, but a keyhole flashes into existence before his eyes) Sora: Huh? What's this thing? Mickey: Sora, do you read me? Sora: Mickey, I've got something weird here. That guy in black left behind a... Well, it looks like a keyhole. Mickey: Hmm, any ideas? Sora: As a matter of fact... What did he say again? "To make this place whole, the Keyhole's the place." I think I need to find a way through. Mickey: Hmm... Why don't you try the Keyblade? Sora: Of course! I'll give it a shot. (Sora directs his Keyblade at the Keyhole and a beam of light shoots toward it. A door opens and Sora runs through it. He ends up on a broken part of the beach under a dark sky) Sora: Whoa! What is this place? Mickey: Sora! Are you okay? Sora: For now, anyway. Any idea where this is? Mickey: I'm not sure. But I'll tell ya one thing... Whatever's causing the glitches must be in there with you. Sora: And if I find the cause, I can put the island back to normal? Mickey: It's too soon to say. You better take a look around. Sora: Okay, here goes. Mickey: Just be careful, Sora. Whatever's in there, it's powerful. Sora: Right. (A large amount of data swirls in green lines of code, forming a dark immense figure. It looms over the island, a heart cut out of its torso, and stares at Sora with unblinking yellow eyes. Sora is able to injure it enough for it to split into blocks, which he then destroys. A large orb appears in the sky, sucking in debris from the broken island. The Darkside floats into the sky, pulled by the great energy. Sora tries his best to hang onto a wooden plank in the sand, but he loses his grip. He screams as he's sucked towards the vortex. Meanwhile, a red light flashes on the monitor, catching Jiminy Cricket's attention) Mickey: Do you think Sora's all right? Jiminy (typing): Wait, I'm tracking him now. (An alarm sounds and a red light blinks on the console) Jiminy: Whoa! Donald: What is it? Jiminy: A new entry in the journal! (He jumps onto the keyboard and the journal appears on the screen. It turns to a page that reads "There are more hurts than the one you have just undone.") Goofy: "More hurts than the one...we have just undone?" (The journal grows brighter) Donald: Hey, look! (Static flies onto the screen and a scene plays during the destruction of the Destiny Islands. A silver haired boy walks on the beach as wind and wood alike spin in the air around the broken island. A brown cloak appears behind him and he stops and turns toward it. The cloaked figure points toward him and the boy smiles. A portal appears behind him. The scene ends and the monitor shows the journal again) Jiminy: Gee, now that can't be right. If the data was repaired, we should be seeing the things that were written inside my journal, right? But what we just saw--that never happened. Or, at least, I never wrote it down. (Goofy looks entirely perplexed) Donald: You mean it's showing us stuff you don't know about? Goofy: Hmm, I wonder what's goin' on inside the journal. (A red light flashes on the screen) Jiminy: Hm? Aha! We've found Sora! (Donald, Goofy, and Mickey grin in excitement. In a dark alley in a small town, Sora awakes to a dog licking his face. Sora opens his eyes and looks around slowly, but tries to fall asleep again. The dog pounces on him and he shouts, now alert. The dog looks at him as he stands, but soon runs away) Sora: Hey! (He runs out of the alley and notices the unfamiliar surroundings) Sora: Huh? How did I... Mickey: Sora, are you all right? Sora: I think so... Mickey, what happened? Where am I? Mickey: Gee, you must've been taken someplace else. Tell me about where you are now. Sora: It looks like a town, or-- Wait! The island! Did I fix it? Mickey: Yep! All the blocks are gone. You did a great job, Sora. Sora: Whew. Glad to hear it. So, okay, I'm in a strange town... Why? Is this place full of glitches, too? Mickey: Could be. Mind taking a look around? Sora: Sure, I'm on it. Oh! There's somebody right over there. I'll ask him. (He walks over to a tall man with a long toothpick in his mouth) Sora: Hello there. ???: Hnnh? Hey, kid. Haven't seen you 'round before. You new to Traverse Town? Sora: The name's Sora! Nice to meet ya. ???: Yeah, I'm Cid. This here's my shop. So Sora... (He crosses his arms and looks down) Cid: Don't suppose ya ran into the triplets on yer way here? Sora: Triplets? Cid: Yeah, there's three of 'em? Uno, dos, tres? They went off to see what's got the town all scrambled, and... Well, they ain't come back. Sora: Something's wrong with the town? Cid: Hoo, I'll say. These weird blocks have popped up everywhich-where. Ya clear 'em out, and they just come right on back. Sora: Weird blocks, huh? Sounds familiar. But I don't see any blocks right now. Cid: Oh, you just go for a little walk. You can't miss 'em. Hey! While you're takin' in the town, keep an eye out for the triplets, yeah? Sora: Sure. What are their names? Cid: Well, there's Huey--he's the feller in red. Dewey wears blue, and Louie's decked out in green. Sora: Huey, Dewey, Louie. Got it. I'll take a look. Cid: Attaboy. You got any questions, just ask around town. Sora: Will do. See ya later, Cid! (Sora runs to the Second District and finds a small duck on a stack of blocks surrounded by Heartless) Sora: Huh? ????: Heeelp! Sora: He's in trouble! (Sora defeats the Heartless) Sora: Are you okay, uh... I'm gonna guess you're Huey? Huey: That's me! Me and the guys are trying to figure out what's clogging the town with blocks! Sora: You mean you and...Dewey and Louie, was it? Where are they? Huey: I dunno. We got separated. They musta gone to check the alleyway. Sora: Got it. I'll go take a look. Huey: Right. Follow Me! (A large Heartless appears) Huey: Y-yikes! (Sora gets out his Keyblade) Sora: Get back! I'll handle this. (Huey runs as Sora battles the Large Body and a group of Shadows) Sora: Sure are a lot of Heartless around here... Umm... Red, red... Huey! You go back to Cid's shop. I'll find Dewey and Louie. Huey: Okay. Oh yeah! Here, you can have this! (Huey shows him a shining L-shaped block) Sora: Wow, it's a-- What is it? Huey: I found it while I was investigating. Pretty cool the way it sparkles, huh? Sora: Yeah, um... Thanks! Just what I've always wanted... Anyway... Next stop, the alleyway! (He walks around the Second District until he sees a large wooden door) Sora: That must be the place. (He enters the Alleyway) ?????: Hello? Anybody there? Sora: Huh? I think I hear someone. Better have a look around. (Sora fights Heartless to the end of the alley, but sees no one. He climbs up a pile of blocks and reaches some first story balconies) ?????: Hey! Over here! (Sora finds another small duck on one of the balconies) ?????: Whew, thanks! I thought they'd get me for sure! Sora: No problem, um... Let's see, blue... Dewey, right? I'm Sora. You okay? Dewey: Sure am! Oh, let me give you something for helping me out. (He hands Sora an item) Dewey: So, you'll never believe what I found while I was out inv-- (He looks around) Dewey: Huh? It's gone! Sora: What's gone? Dewey: The thing! Gee, I musta dropped it somewhere in the Second District... I gotta go find it! (He runs toward the door of the Alleyway) Sora (running after him): Hey, wait! Where are you-- Dewey: C'mon! It's this way! (Dewey enters the Second District) Dewey: Hmm, something that shiny oughta be easy to spot... (Sora catches up to him) Sora: Hey! Don't run off like that, it's dangerous. Dewey: Aw, please. What are you afraid of, monsters? (A group of monsters appear) Dewey: Urk! Heartless! Sora: Dewey! Get to safety! (Dewey runs as Sora takes on the Heartless. He defeats them all and finds Dewey) Sora: I told you it's dangerous. Dewey: But I want you to see the thing I found! Sora: Dewey, go back to Cid's. I mean it! Dewey: Aw, but Sora! I can't go back empty-handed! Just let me look a little longer. Sora: Oh brother... All right, but stay out of trouble until I get back. If you see any Heartless, you run away. Promise? Dewey: Junior Woodchuck's honor! (As they talk, a block behind Sora changes pattern and drifts to the left. Sora looks over and sees several blocks being pulled toward a portal in the floor. Sora enters the portal and reaches another system sector. He defeats the buggy Heartless there and returns to Traverse Town) Dewey: Oh! You're okay! I was startin' to get worried. Anyway, check it out! I found the thing! (He pulls out another shiny block) Sora (smiling): Well, that's great! Dewey: See how pretty it is when it catches the light? I want you to have it, Sora. Sora: Me? After all the trouble you went through to-- Wait. Dewey, I've GOT one of these! (Sora pulls his L-shaped block out) Dewey: Hey, cool! I wonder if they fit together. Sora: Actually... Yeah, if it stick this like this... (Sora fits the two pieces together) Dewey: Whoa! Do ya think they're supposed to make something? Sora: Could be... But look. We're still missing some pieces. Dewey: Then let's go hunt 'em down! Sora: Uh, did you forget what just happened? You're going back to Cid's shop, where it's safe. Dewey: Aww! But I wanna go with you! Sora: No buts. I'll bring the pieces by when I'm done. Now get those legs in gear. Dewey: Right. Legs in gear, I promise! (Dewey starts walking away) Sora: Not so fast! (Dewey stops) Sora: Cid's shop is the other way, buster. Dewey: B-but I know a shortcut! Sora: Uh-huh. I better go with you. Dewey: Aww, phooey... (Sora escorts Dewey to Cid's shop in the First District) Cid: Dewey! You all right? Dewey: I'm fine, Cid. Huey: Gee whiz! Where were ya? Dewey: The alleyway behind the Second District. Huey: Was Louie with you? Dewey: What? I thought he was with you! Cid: Might be he's in the Third District. Sorra, Sora--think you could go have a gander? Sora: Sure, I don't mind. Actually, I've got something to hunt for myself now. Cid: Yeah? What's that? Sora: You ever seen one of these? (Sora takes out the shining block) Cid: Well, uh, sure! That there's a...a, uh... Nope, no clue. Huey & Dewey: We found 'em! Dewey: The other pieces have gotta be around town somewhere. Cid: What happens when you put 'em all together? Huey: Who knows? Something cool, I bet! Dewey: Yeah! Sora: I guess we'll find out. Let's see what I turn up while I look for Louie. Cid: Thanks, Sora. Here, take this for the road. You be careful out there! Sora: I will, thanks! (Sora runs around the shop, but the door to the Second District is missing) Sora: Um... Where's the door? (He looks around) Sora: Must be a glitch, like the bridge back on the island... I'll just have to track down the cause. (Sora finds a portal in the door to the Synthesis Shop) Sora: Jackpot! (He enters the system sector and debugs the system data. When he returns, the Second District door appears in the wall) Sora: It worked! The door's back to normal. (He run into the Second District and more blocks fall from the sky) Sora: Agh! Are you kidding!? (He runs to the Third District) Sora: Louie! Are you there? Looouieee! Hunh. No response. (A bunch of Soldier Heartless appear) Sora: Ugh, great. (He defeats the group of Heartless) Sora: Hmm, still no Louie. Guess I'll check back at Cid's. (The cloaked man appears again) Sora: Huh? Hey! (The man says nothing and phases into the door to the First District) Sora: He's headed for...the First District? (Sora enters the First District and sees the cloaked man) Sora: There he is! But...where's everybody else? All right, 'fess up! These glitches are your doing! (The man says nothing and fades through the world exit) Sora: Hey! I'm talkin' to you! (Sora runs after him, but the man is gone. He finds an entrance to the system sector in the world exit door. Sora debugs the system and returns to Traverse Town) Sora: Good, everybody's back. I hope the glitches don't get any worse than that... (He finds Cid at his shop with Huey and Dewey) Sora: Cid! Are you guys all right? The First District's gone crazy! Cid: Haw? What's this, now? Seems as quiet as ever to me. Dewey: More like boring as ever! Huey: Yeah. Sora, you feeling okay? Sora: Wait-- You mean you didn't--? How could they not have noticed that? Cid: Still no word on Louie? Sora: He wasn't in the Third District. Where else can I look? Cid: Hmm, let's see... Dewey: Umm... Huey: Good question. Sora (chuckling): I'll, uh... I'll just do another sweep of the town. Cid: Good man. Be careful now, ya hear? (Sora enters the Second District again) Sora: Whoa! Look at all these blocks! Huh? What's going on down the street? (Sora makes his way to the Gizmo Shop, but notices something odd) Sora: Whoa, what!? This building... It's flat as a pancake! ?????: Is somebody there? Heeey! Sora: Louie!? Where are you? Louie: Um, can I get back to you on that? All I know is that I was standing on top of a building... Sora: So when the building got distorted, Louie...vanished? I'd better fix this glitch fast, for his sake... Here goes! (Sora finds a portal in the door of the Hotel. He enters and debugs the system. When he returns to the Second District, the building reshapes itself with data and is back to normal) Louie: Hello? Anybody down there? Sora: It's coming from the top of the building. (Sora reaches the top and finds Louie) Sora: You all right? Louie: Yeah, thanks to you! Sora: Good. Let's get you back to Cid's. Oh! Louie... Have you seen anything like this? (He takes out the shining block) Louie: Huh? Hey, yeah! I've got one too. Check it out! Sora: See if it fits with the pieces I've got. (Louie fits them together) Louie: Whoa, it sure does! But look. Sora: Yeah. We're still missing a part. Louie: Whaddaya think it's supposed to be? A keyhole? Sora: Keyhole? Hey, wait a second... Louie: What's wrong? Sora: Oh, nothing. Sorry. Let's head back to Cid's. (They return to the First District and encounter the cloaked man) Sora: Ah! Louie, get back! No--run! Go right to Cid's! Louie: Okay. Be careful! (Louie runs to the Accessory Shop) Sora: I hope you're happy with all the trouble your glitches have caused! (The cloaked man says nothing and vanishes, leaving behind another shining block) Sora: What're you--Hey... Hmph, he's gone. That piece... If I combine it with the others... (He connects the two blocks and it becomes a Keyhole) Sora: I knew it. It's the same as before. Mickey: Sora, can you hear me? Sora: Mickey, listen to this. You remember that Keyhole from the island? I've found another one. If this all works the same as last time... Mickey: You think the source of the glitches might be waiting inside. Sora: Exactly. And if I go through the Keyhole and defeat it... Mickey: The town might turn back to normal... You'd do that, Sora? Sora: We've come this far. Leave it to me! (Sora points his Keyblade at the Keyhole and opens it. A door appears and he runs inside, finding himself in a very strange version of Traverse Town) Sora: What just happened!? I feel...flat. Mickey: Sora, careful! Things don't seem to work the usual way inside that Keyhole. Some kind of energy spike is causing the world around you to distort. Sora: Energy spike? You think it's another giant enemy, like on the island? Either way, I guess we've found the source of the glitches. Mickey: It sure seems that way. The energy spike is coming from further in. Sora: Okay, I'll check it out! Mickey: Now, hold on. You need to know what you're getting into. The distortions are sure to limit your movement--and not all your abilities will work. Sora: Well, whatever. I'll figure it out as I go along. Thanks, Mickey! (Sora fights through the two-dimensional First District filled with blocks and Heartless that hamper his advance. He enters the Second District) Sora: The blocks are getting denser... Mickey: Stay sharp, Sora. The energy spike is still further up ahead. Sora: Roger that. (Sora defeats the Heartless in the Second District while traveling along the blocks to the Third District) Sora: Mickey, how'm I doing? Mickey: You're real close, Sora. Just promise you'll play it safe. Sora: Will do! (Sora destroys a few blocks in the Third District, but a rumbling causes him to lose his balance and fall into a distorted abyss) Sora: Yeesh. Now I KNOW I'm not in Traverse Town. Mickey: Sora, look out! You're right on top of the energy spike! (Sora races through the pathway until a giant armored Heartless appears. Its purple arms and legs flail around its disconnected body. It jumps several times, shaking the ground, but Sora dodges. The Guard Armor rearranges its torso into a cannon and gathers energy, aiming at Sora, who seizes the opportunity to attack it with the Keyblade. This momentarily stuns it and sends the pieces of its body crashing to the ground in a daze. In a flurry, Sora makes quick work of the giant Heartless and the world returns to normal in a bright flash. Sora looks around and sees piles of blocks still scattered around town) Sora: Why are the blocks still here? Didn't I get rid of the enemy controlling them? Mickey: You did. Now you just need to sweep up. Use your power, Sora, and end the glitches here once and for all! Sora: My power? Mickey: Uh-huh. A power that's yours and yours alone. Use the Keyblade to lock the Keyhole for good! Sora: Right! Here goes. (He shoots a beam of light from his Keyblade and locks the Keyhole) Mickey: That should be the end of the blocks in town. Nice work, Sora! You've solved this world's mysteries. Sora: But...what about that guy in the black hood? I mean, he could be the one behind this whole mess. (On the computer screen, Traverse Town turns to static and the alarm flashed red) Jiminy: It's another new entry! (The pages turn to again say "There are more hurts than the one you have just undone.") Mickey: Hmm... It looks to me like a new message gets added every time a world inside the journal is repaired. Donald: Yeah! Just like before. (They look up at the monitor expectantly. Static flies onto the screen and a scene plays showing Donald and Goofy's first introduction to Sora in Traverse Town. The three clasp hands together and smile. In the background, Pluto sniffs the ground, walking around a corner in the Third District. His ears perk up and he lifts a paw, seeing a large portal appear in the wall. He runs toward it and jumps inside, the portal closing behind him. The scene ends in static) Donald: That's funny. We were there... Was Pluto with us? Jiminy: Well, I sure didn't write anything like that in the journal. Goofy: Hey, do you fellas think that maybe the journal is tryin' to tell us somethin'? (Three black shapes move along the tiled floor of the Library, and lift their heads out, revealing each two glowing yellow eyes. The Shadow Heartless catch Donald's eye and he screams, scaring Goofy off balance. Jiminy whirls around, his hat bouncing off his head as Mickey's gaze turns serious) Mickey: Heartless? Jiminy: Here, is the castle? But how? (Mickey spins through the air and summons his Keyblade, Donald watching. Goofy shields his face and covers his eyes. Mickey slices through each of the Heartless in turn and faces his companions) Mickey: We gotta check the rest of the castle now! (He rushes over to the door as Donald and Goofy race after him. Mickey pushes on the door with all his might as Donald reaches him, out of breath) Mickey: It won't open! (Donald and Goofy help push on the door, as Mickey slams his fist against it) Mickey: Hey! Hello!? Anybody out there? (Jiminy hops over and Donald sinks to the floor) Jiminy: This is not our day. (Donald knocks on the door, out of ideas) Mickey: Well, fellas...I hate to say this, but we're trapped. Donald: We're what? But there could be Heartless roaming the castle. (They give a worried look as the computer alarm goes off again) Mickey: Huh? (He rushes off to look at the screen, Jiminy following, as the journal page turns) Jiminy: What's that? Mickey (reading): "Undo the hurt to unbar the way"? Goofy: Gawrsh, we're tryin'. It said we've already undone some of it, right? Mickey: Well then, we'll just have to keep going, repairing the journal's data as fast as we can. (The world on the screen flashes) Jiminy: Your Majesty, I think Sora just might've reached the next world! (Jiminy hops onto the keyboard and presses a pink key, revealing Sora in Wonderland) Donald: But we gotta do something about the castle. Mickey: I'm as worried as you are, Donald, but right now our best hope is fixing up the journal. (Goofy nods) Donald: Okay. (They continue to watch the monitor. Sora sees the piles of blocks dotting the hedges) Sora: Yeesh. At least part of the scenery hasn't changed... Mickey: Sora, do you read me? Sora: Mickey, what is going on? Where'd the town go? I was there just a second ago... Wasn't I? Mickey: I'm sorry, Sora. I don't know what's goin' on. Eliminating bugs in one world must open a road to the next. "Undo the hurt to unbar the way"... Sora: Wait, so that thing I clobbered inside the Keyhole... That was a "bug"? So then...these blocks must be bugs too, right? Mickey: That's right--or at least bugs are what caused them. So far, the major bugs seem to have been hiding inside Keyholes. You'll probably need to find this world's Keyhole, too. Sora: But if I do clean up the bugs here, I'll just get blasted off into the unknown again, right? Hmm... (He laughs and makes a fist, smiling excitedly) Sora: Sign me up! I've always wanted to see other worlds. Just point me at those bugs! Mickey: Ha ha! That's the spirit! ?????: Someone! Help! (Sora runs toward the voice and finds a young girl in a blue dress) ?????: Help! Please! Sora: What's the matter? (A bunch of Heartless surround them) Sora: Right. Get back, I'll take care of 'em! (Sora defeats the group of Heartless) ?????: Whew... Good riddance. Sora: You okay? ?????: Why, yes! Thank you, er... I'm sorry, have we met? Sora (grinning): Oh, I'm Sora. What's your name? ?????: Well, it's...it's... Oh, it's hopeless! I simply can't remember a thing! Sora: Not even your name? (A purple cat appears--or at least his continuously grinning face does-- surprising them both) Cheshire Cat: You could say her mind's like me--a bit fuzzy. Sora: Huh!? What are you saying? She has amnesia? (The cat's body returns) Cheshire Cat: Gesundheit! No, silly. I mean what the miss has misplaced lies literally littered about the place. (The cat stands on one paw, still smiling at them) Cheshire Cat: Yes, her memories--oh, and everyone else's, too. This place has become quite buggy, you see--or maybe you don't. Sora: Bugs? That's what Mickey said... So the bugs have caused everybody's memory to go all funny? I better find the Keyhole quick. ?????: Keyhole? Was it a very large Keyhole? Sora: Yes! You saw it? Where? ?????: Hmm... Ooh, I can't seem to recall... Cheshire Cat: Poor dear. What's to remember with her memories dismembered? (The cat becomes only a face again) Cheshire Cat: No, to get this girl thinking, what you need is an Inkling. Sora: An Inkling? What'll that do? Cheshire Cat: Don't look at me! It's not as though I have an Inkling! But if you find one, this whole mess will surely be forgotten. Or is it remembered? (The cat vanishes) Sora: H-hey! Sheesh... (A shining object appears on a nearby platform and Sora goes to retrieve it) ?????: Ohh, whatever was my name? It's on the tip of my tongue... (Sora reads the Inkling aloud) Alice: Yes, of course! I'm Alice! Sora: Hey, that's great! Your memory's back! So, Alice, where did you see the Keyhole? Alice: Well, let me think. It sort of...glowed, as I recall. Sora: Yep, yep, that's the one! Where is it? Alice: Hmm, well that's... Oh dear. I suppose I'm still a bit foggy about the details. (The cat's face reappears) Cheshire Cat: But the fog that's bogging her could be unclogging with the right memory jogging. Sora: Okay... So if I keep giving her Inklings, she'll eventually remember where she saw the Keyhole. But where can I find more Inklings? (The cat's body appears) Cheshire Cat: Oh, this way, that way, and in-between ways. And don't remember--in blocked ways too. Sora: Okay. Sit tight, Alice. I'll be back with more stuff to remind you. Alice: Thank you. Cheshire Cat: Ah, careful, now. Mind you find the right reminders. Alice's Inklings lie strewn about. But then, so do everyone else's! (His body disappears) Cheshire Cat: The question is: which are remind-hers and which are remind-thems? (The cat vanishes once again) Sora: Guess I'll have to sort it all out. (The cloaked figure appears behind them) ????????: That's right. Sort it out and end the hurt. Sora: Ugh, stop...showing up like that! ????????: Our world still aches, and your next road still awaits. (The figure vanishes) Sora: What is he after? And how do I figure into it? Meh, who cares. Right now, getting Alice's memory back is more important. (Sora enters a Hedge Maze and is spotted by a Card Soldier) Card Soldier: You there. What are you doing? Sora: Me? Oh, I was just looking for, um... For something I lost. (The Ace points his sword at him) Card Soldier: Well, you may kindly look elsewhere! These gardens are the property of Her Majesty the Queen of Hearts. Wander about, lad, and I'm afraid it's off with your head. (The Ace returns to his post) Sora: Well, that's great... I'll just have to sneak by without drawing attention. (Sora sneaks through the Aimless Path and finds one Inkling. He enters the Tea Party Garden. As he approaches the large table, a group of flying Heartless appear) Sora: Heartless! (He defeats the Heartless and gets a good look around) Sora: I bet this place is hiding all kinds of Inklings. And I'm gonna find 'em! (He sees a sign on a hedge) Sora: What's this say? "A very merry unbirthday." Huh? There's something here. (He looks behind it and finds another Inkling. He defeats more Heartless and finds an Inkling by the cottage door. He leaves the Tea Party Garden and reenters the Aimless Path. The Card Soldiers are patrolling the hedge maze and several times their normal speed) Sora: Ack! What is going on!? I can't sneak past them when they're going this fast. I guess this is another...bug? (Sora races through and finds a backdoor, fixing the glitchy Card Soldiers. He recieves an Inkling upon returning to Wonderland. He returns to the Tea Party Garden and hears a voice coming from underneath the table) ??????: Ooh, I really must be going. I'm already late, late, late! Sora: Huh? (A white rabbit holding a large pocketwatch emerges from beneath the table) Sora: Whoa! Um, h-hello. What were you doing under the table? White Rabbit: Why, hiding, of course! Those shadows showed up and...oh me oh my. Sora: What, the Heartless? I took care of them. It's safe now! White Rabbit: Yes, that's well and good, but I'm late for a very important... Something. Whatever was it? Sora: You've lost your memory, too? White Rabbit: Sorry, I don't remember. I just know I was going somewhere in a hurry. Sora: Listen, do you know anything about a girl named Alice? White Rabbit: Hmm, Alice, you say? And a girl? Yes, perhaps I do... Sora: Really? That's great! I-- White Rabbit: But then, perhaps I don't. I simply can't recall. All I remember is...I glanced at something and knew I was dreadfully late! But what? (Sora looks through the Inklings he's found and chooses "Watch") White Rabbit: Yes, of course! I saw the time and knew I'd be late to the trial! (The rabbit scurries away and Sora sees something on the ground) Sora: Hey! Another Inkling! (Sora finds more Inklings in the Hedge Maze and enters the Bizarre Room, finding himself on top of a giant round table) Sora: Wha-- What happened!? I'm tiny! It's too far down to jump. I guess I'm stuck up here... (The Cheshire Cat appears) Cheshire Cat: Being little makes for big trouble, hmm? Especially with them around. What to do, what to do? (The cat leaves) Sora: Hey! D-don't just leave! And what do you mean, "them"? (A Heartless appears) Sora: Agh! Giant Heartless! (Sora defeats the giant Large Body) Sora: Whew, I'm glad that's over... But I'm still stuck up here. (The Cheshire Cat appears with two small bottles, though nearly the size of Sora, but quickly vanishes again) Sora: He doesn't stick around for long, does he? Well, let's see what he brought me. (Sora drinks the red liquid in one bottle) Sora: Whoa! What now-ow-ow!? (He grows a bit) Sora: Hey! I'm a little bigger now! (Sora searches around the Bizarre Room and finds another Inkling. The Cheshire Cat appears on top of the brick stove) Cheshire Cat: Surprised to see me? Here's a little something for rising to the challenge. (The cat gives Sora another Inkling. Sora returns to floor level and notices a small door with a slanted doorknob, who appears to be sleeping) Sora: Hm? What a weird-looking doorknob? Doorknob: Weird? Impertinent! Of us two, I'd say YOU are the weird-looking doorknob. Sora: Agh! I-it talks!? Doorknob: I'd just fallen into the nicest nap...and then the whole world turned on its side! Mmmn... Do take care. You never know when another twist of fate... (The doorknob yawns) Doorknob: ...might be at your door. Sora: Must be another bug. Don't worry, I'll find a way to put things right again. (Sora finds a backdoor in the Bizarre Room and fixes the glitch. When he returns to the room, he sees the doorknob in the correct position on the door) Doorknob: Mmm, finally, some peace and quiet. I'll be getting back to that nap, now. (Sora finds another Inkling near the doorknob and returns to the Hedge Maze. He finds the maze full of Card Soldiers) Sora: Yeesh. Since when were there this many of them? I don't think asking nicely will get me a pass. Could this be a bug? (Sora fixes the glitch with a backdoor and speaks to a Card Soldier nearby) Card Soldier: I've made a real blunder this time... "Off with his head!" the Queen of Hearts will say. Look at me! I worked so hard I'm covered in dirt! And for what!? I got it all wrong. What was my mistake? (Sora searches through his Inklings and chooses White Roses) Card Soldier: Yes! I planted white roses instead of red ones! Quick! Do you know where I can find some paint? (The soldier gives Sora another Inkling. After finding all the Inklings he could, Sora returns to Alice) Alice: Do you think you could help me get my memory un-fuddled? Sora: Sure! (Sora looks through his Inklings) Alice: Oh, wonderful! Let's see... I was in a field of flowers, as I recall... Then I saw someone and began to follow them. Sora: The White Rabbit. Alice: Yes, it was a White Rabbit, and he seemed in an awful hurry. I followed him into a burrow, then fell down...down something. Sora: Peculiar Hole. Alice: Yes, and what a very peculiar hole it was! That's how I got here. I tried to ask someone how to get home. Oh, who was it? Sora: The Cheshire Cat. Alice: That's right, the Cheshire Cat. And he suggested I visit the castle of...someone important. Sora: The Queen of Hearts. Alice: Precisely! And while I was trying to ask the Queen of Hearts how to get home... Oh! There in her court is where I saw the Keyhole! You've done it! So, what shall we do? Go and have a look? Or perhaps you think I'm still forgetting something. Sora: Can you remember more? Alice: At the Queen of Hearts' castle, I was captured by someone... Sora: Card Soldiers. Alice: Yes, yes, the card soldiers took me captive! And they were going to put me through the most horrible ordeal. Sora: Trial. Alice: Yes, I was to be put on trial! But I managed to run away before they could begin. After that, I... Well, while I was chasing the White Rabbit, I stumbled upon a strange tea party. The two hosts were, um... the March Hare, and...and who? Sora: The Mad Hatter. Alice: Quite mad indeed. They were having the strangest celebration. It was an un-something. Unniversary? No, un-... Sora: Unbirthday. Alice: Yes! An unbirthday party. Really, can you imagine? And then... Oh, yes! I met something...some-ONE who refused to wake from his nap! Sora: Doorknob. Alice: Rather presumptuous, really, for a doorknob to speak! It gave me quite the start! Thank you. I feel I've finally remembered everything. And I remember finding this along the way. Please, you have it. (She gives Sora the Cure spell) Alice: Now, shall we be off? (They proceed to the Queen's Court entrance and address a Card Soldier) Alice: We have business in the court. Would you be so kind as to let us through? Card Soldier: Out of the question. Her Majesty the Queen has expressly forbidden any intrusions. Alice: But your queen is the one who sent for us! I am sure she'll be quite disappointed that you turned us away... Card Soldier: What? The Queen!? Alice: The same! I'd let us pass, if I were you, before she gets cross. Card Soldier: Y-yes, ma'am! (He steps aside) Sora: The Queen really invited you in? Alice: Tee hee, don't be silly. Now, let's be off. (Alice walks into the court. Sora thinks for a bit before running after her. Once they leave, the hooded figure appears) ????????: The truth lies through the Keyhole. And with it, true memories... (The figure vanishes as Alice and Sora enter the court) Queen of Hearts: Who are you!? Alice: Oh, don't mind us. We just need to have a quick look around. Queen of Hearts: Stop where you are! This is MY garden, and only I decide who gets to look around or asquare or any other shape. Is that clear? Alice: Yes. Well, no... It's just, we're in a hurry, you see-- Queen of Hearts: Hmph, a likely story! I demand you both stand trial immediately! Sora: What!? Alice: Oh, please, Your Majesty! We haven't done a thing! Queen of Hearts: Aha! A lie if I've ever heard one. More proof that you're the thieves who made off with my memory! Sora: Hey! That's not our fault! It's the bugs that took your--Urk. Queen of Hearts: So... That's how you did it! You and your army of insects! Alice: Please, be reasonable. You have no evidence! Queen of Hearts: I most certainly do! For one, I've decided you're guilty! Sora: This is crazy... Queen of Hearts: Guards! Off with their heads! (An army of Card Soldiers emerge, pointing their weapons at the two of them) Alice: Oh no! Run, Sora! Sora: Wait, Alice. Where's the Keyhole? You said you saw it. Alice: Yes, over there! Inside that birdcage! (They look over toward a cage hanging above the ground next to the Queen's seat in the court) Sora: Thanks! (Sora starts running toward it) Alice: Sora, where are you-- Sora: I have to get to the Keyhole, and this could be my only chance. Don't worry about me. Go on, run! Alice: But... Sora: I'll be fine. Trust me. Alice: Well...all right. But don't let them catch you! Queen of Hearts: He's getting away! After him, you imbeciles! (A crank tower appears with a small hedge maze blocking Sora from getting to the cage. Sora strikes the tower, which causes the crank to spin) Sora: Whoa! The birdcage lowered! Okay, if I just do this right... (Sora continues to attack the crank tower until one of the crank wheels breaks off) Sora: Okay, one down! (Sora knocks out Card Soldiers on his way through the maze to the other crank wheel, which he attacks until it breaks) Sora: Yes! The birdcage is all the way down! Now I can get to the Keyhole. (He rushes through the rest of the maze to the birdcage) Sora: All right, here I go! Queen of Hearts: Don't let him get away! Card Soldier: Yes, Your Highness! (Sora points his Keyblade at the keyhole and a burst of light shoots forth. Sora runs inside and finds himself on a cobblestone path lined with flowery bushes) Sora: Whoa! Where am I now? Mickey: Are you all right, Sora? Sora: Mickey, is that you? Yeah, I'm a little weirded out, but I'll make it. The cause of the glitches is somewhere in here, right? Mickey: Right. Be careful. I have some good news, though. Your Keyblade has gained new powers to help you fight the glitches in there. Sora: Cool! Thanks, Mickey. Just leave it to me. (Sora runs down the path defeating Heartless and destroying blocks. A large group of blocks forms a large Trickmaster Heartless, which messes with the dimensions of the room. Sora defeats it and it shrinks and runs away as Sora follows. Sora reaches a room with a checkered floor and a door at the end of the hallway) Mickey: Still with me, Sora!? Sora: A little shaken up, that's all. How'd he turn everything upside down like that? I'm starting to wonder what I'm up against... Mickey: The bugs must be making your enemies even more powerful than before. You're close to the source, so be ready for anything. Sora: Proceed with caution. Got it! (Sora defeats more Heartless as he runs through the strangely endless room. As he approaches his goal, the miniature Trickmaster runs in and grows to giant size again. Sora defeats it for good this time) Mickey: You did it, Sora! Now everybody's memories are sure to return to normal. (Back in the Queen's Court, the Queen of Hearts stands puzzled with her Card Soldiers) Queen of Hearts: Hm!? I remember everything! What are you imbeciles still doing here!? I ordered you to get rid of those confounded blocks! Card Soldier: B-but Your Majesty! They're all gone now! Queen of Hearts: I won't listen to any excu-- Hmm? Why, they're all gone now. Well, then, stop standing about. Back to your patrols! Card Soldier: Yes, Your Majesty! (The Card Soldiers leave) Queen of Hearts: Why is it I feel I'm forgetting something now that my memory is back? Ah, well. No matter. (Back in Disney Castle, Mickey and friends are watching everything on the monitor) Mickey: That's another world repaired. Jiminy: Look, just as we thought! Another line has appeared in my journal! "There are more hurts than the one you have just undone." Donald: That doesn't sound good. Goofy: Uh...fellas... The door's still locked. Mickey: "Undo the hurt to unbar the way." Other worlds in the journal must still need our help. Jiminy: So, will Sora be heading to a new world? (He sees something on the monitor) Jiminy: Look! It's him! Donald: What does he want this time? (Sora approaches the hooded figure) Sora: I've got you now! (The hooded figure says nothing) Sora: I want some answers! Somebody's behind these glitches. Is it you or not? ????????: This world has been connected. Memory and reality now stand tied. And now, it's time you learned the truth. (He vanishes) Sora: Hey! Get back here! Mickey: After him, Sora! He knows something! (Sora runs after him) Jiminy: How're we gonna find out who he is? Donald: What if he's Organization XIII? Mickey: Don't worry. Sora will catch him. Then we'll know for sure. (They hear a noise from the door, which startles everyone) Donald: Who's there? Goofy: Chip and Dale musta come back to rescue us! (The door is forced open and they come face to face with...Sora! He holds his Keyblade tight, clenching his teeth) Mickey: You're here!? Sora: That voice... Mickey? Is that you? (The Keyblade leaves his hand) Sora (looking around): I was just...following that guy, and... (He starts closing the door behind him and the computer monitor goes into static) Jiminy: Huh... Majesty! There, on the monitor! (They look up and the static turns to a picture of themselves in the room. Sora walks over and looks as well. They stand there, waiting for anything to happen. There is a flash and a grid appears in the corner of the room, shocking them, especially Goofy who grabs ahold of the King's chair. The grid's data reforms itself into the shape of the hooded figure, arms crossed. A data strip appears in front of its face and the data changes, revealing the face of a silver-haired boy) Everyone: Riku!? Riku: Sorry. Not quite. Much like Sora there, I'm just zeros and ones that look like somebody you know. (Goofy lets go of the chair and raises an eyebrow) Goofy: Huh? Riku: Memories used to fill Jiminy's journal--but when they were pulled apart and stitched back together, bugs appeared. It was these bugs that kept the book from being completely restored. Of all the possible vessels to protect the data, I was chosen from the journal's pages. The full set of memories was transferred inside of me to shield them from corruption. (Everyone still looks confused) Donald: Huh? Riku: So, in a way...what I really am is Jiminy's journal. Jiminy: You're my journal? (The others look from Jiminy to Riku, who nods and pressed a button on the keyboard. The screen changes to show the original message from the journal: "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it.") Riku: I took the liberty of importing all of you to help solve the mystery of this entry. Donald: "Imported"? Where? Riku: You really haven't noticed? (The group remain clueless) Riku: All right... (Riku explains it all) Mickey: Datascape? We're in the journal? (Riku presses more buttons on the keyboard) Chip: Your Majesty! Your Majesty! Dale: If you can hear us, please say something! Mickey: Chip? Dale? (In the real Disney Castle, Chip and Dale are outside the computer when they hear King Mickey's voice) Dale: We finally got through! (They start jumping up and down in front of the monitor) Chip: The room was empty when we came back, and we've been searching the data for you ever since! (They climb up to the monitor where they can see their friends in the data castle) Goofy: Well, if Sora's here with us, and Chip and Dale are out there lookin' in, then... Mickey: Then we really are inside the datascape, just like Riku said. (Mickey turns toward Riku) Mickey: Maybe you can tell us--is there any way for us to get back home? (An alarm sounds from the computer, shocking everyone. The monitor blinks red) Dale: Oh no! Chip: Someone's trying to break into the data from the outside! Riku: A hacker! (He starts typing on the keyboard, bringing up a readout screen) Riku: If that's true, then there won't be any way out for you. Dale: You have to escape before-- (The transmission is cut off) Mickey: Chip? Dale! (The alarm stops after a while as Riku continues to type) Riku: No luck. The link from here to the real world has been totally cut. Donald: How 'bout some good news? Riku: If we repair that link, a new pathway should open. (Donald and Goofy smile expectantly) Riku: Of course, that's if these bugs weren't around. (He brings up a screen analysis of the bugs. The group looks crestfallen) Sora: I don't understand it all, but...basically this means you guys can't go home, right? Okay. Then I'll go bash the bugs for you. Donald (happily): You will? Goofy: That's swell! Mickey: Sora. That's another one we owe ya. Sora: Who says we're keeping score? We're all friends, right? (Riku stops typing and the group smiles) Sora: Right. See you. (He waves and leaves the room, making his way to the Olympus Coliseum) Riku: How's it looking, Sora? Sora: Is that... Riku, is that you? So far, things have been pretty quiet. Riku: Well, don't expect them to stay that way. One of the bugs interfering with the link is in Olympus Coliseum--I'm sure of it. And you know where it'll be hiding. Find the Keyhole. If my findings are right, that'll take you to the world's core. Get rid of whatever's harming the core and the rest of the bugs will be purged with it. Sora: Yep, that's what me and Mickey figured, too. Okay, be back before you can say "bug spray." Riku: Bug spray. Hang on, Sora. Did you know you have access privileges to worlds you've already debugged? Sora: You mean I can go back and visit? Riku: Basically, yes. Technically, no. You'd be accessing an emulated version of the world's data. The emulator gives you some degree of control over the data. For example, you could start the whole experience over from scratch. Sora: Uh, Riku. Why would I want to do that? Riku: I know, why fight the same enemies again? But what if I told you you might find some new adversaries? You did a good job repairing the worlds, but there may still be bugs lurking in the system sectors. Sora: Okay. Maybe I'll go take a look. (Sora walks over to the Coliseum doors) ????: Ugh... Just run me over with a chariot now! Sora: Hey, somebody's in there. Riku: All right, that's your cue. Go save the world, hero. Sora (smiling): Okay. Tell Mickey not to worry. I'll clear these bugs out and have his way home open in no time! Riku: Right. Good luck in there. (Sora enters the Lobby and finds a satyr with his hands on his hips) ????: Ugh, this is a nightmare. What's taking him so long? Sora: What's taking who so long? ????: It's the champ! First these stupid blocks and...and now he's gone and...and why am I telling this to a squirt like you? Sora: First of all, the name's Sora. Second of all, you've gotta tell somebody, right? ????: Good point. Well, just look around! I got nothin' against new architecture, but these things gotta go! (He motions toward the wall of blocks in the way of the entrance to the Coliseum Arena) ????: And you should see the INSIDE. The champ--Hercules went in to investigate ages ago... Sora: What, he hasn't come back? That's terrible! I'd better go in there and see what's up. ????: No dice, kid. The entrance is blocked... But then, that's obvious, right? It'd take some kinda hero to get in, but all I see's me and some... (Sora takes out his Keyblade and destroys the wall of blocks, revealing a Keyhole) ???? (wide-eyed): ...kid? How did... Sora: This is the Keyhole. Does it lead into the Coliseum? One way to find out! ????: Look, I dunno if--No, maybe you do have what it takes. The name's Phil. Just be careful in there. Getting in is one thing, kid. Getting out's another. Sora: I'll be careful, Phil. Phil: Just remember the secret to success. Four words... One...victory... at a...time! Sora: Uh... Thanks. Be back in no time. (Sora opens the Keyhole and runs inside. He appears in a long hall of stone) Sora: This is the Coliseum? I pictured something a little more...roomy. These glitches are getting out of control. I need to find Hercules, and fast. (He looks around) Sora: Hang on, Hercules. I'm coming. Mickey: Sora, can you still hear me? Sora: Sure can, Mickey! You should see the glitches in here. Mickey: Yep, the bug readings are off the charts. It almost looks like... Gosh, Sora. It looks like the Coliseum's turned into a labyrinth. Sora: Then there's no time to waste. We need to find out what's causing all this harm. Mickey: I agree, but Sora... This time the glitches are affecting you, too. Sora: Then I'll just have to improvise. Mickey: Another thing... I"m picking up some $trange features 1n thé m0r1d @round you. Uh=oh. I don"t th1nk my v0ice will re@ch you much lonGGGer. G00d lUCK,, Sor@! Sora: Thanks, Mickey! I'll be okay. Now. Down to business! (Sora defeats Heartless and blocks while searching for Hercules inside the labyrinth. Elsewhere, Hades overlooks Sora in his search) Hades: Hmph. I guess they'll let anyone in here. Hate to burst your baklava, kid, but you picked the wrong labyrinth to get lost in. If some hero-shmero can't find his way out, where's that put you? (He places a finger to his chin) Hades: Now, back to stuff I care about... Hercules! This time I'm kicking his heroic hiney straight into the Underworld! But, ahem, first, I think I'll watch the pipsqueak squirm a bit. Oh, I'm going to enjoy this... (Hades disappears in a puff of smoke. Sora continues to fight his way through) Hercules: That's strange. Thought I heard somebody... Heh, that's crazy. Who could possibly be in here? Still, this is one doozy of a maze... Almost makes me miss Phil's training. I hope I can find some way to fix the Coliseum... (Sora reaches another layer of the labyrinth) Hades: Hmph, pretty tough, for a half-pint. Just who is this keyboy, anyway? Him teaming up with Herc the Jerk could put a kink in things... Wait, wait, I've got it! If I can just teach that other lost puppy a few new tricks... Oh, Hades, you are on fire. (Hades disappears and Sora runs in) Sora: This looks like someplace new. Well, better keep moving. I'm not gonna run into Hercules standing still! (Sora fights further into the maze until he comes to a stone wall. He is startled by explosion in the wall, which comes crumbling down revealing Hercules behind it) Sora: Whoa! How'd you do that? Let me guess...Hercules? Hercules: Um, that's right. And you are...? Sora: Finally! I-I mean Sora. It's about time I found you! Phil asked me to check up on you. Hercules: Phil sent you in HERE? I'm not sure whether to say "thanks" or "sorry." Anyway, nice to meet you, Sora. I guess Phil mentioned I'm the Coliseum champ. I trained with him to become a true hero. But you have to be pretty tough yourself if you made it this far on your own! Sora: Heh heh! Well, my Keyblade helped. So you're in here working solo, too? Hercules: Yeah. I'm trying to figure out what turned the Coliseum into...this. Sora: Me too. Somebody's trying to harm this world and I'm pretty sure the culprit's in here with us. Hercules: What do you mean, "harm"? Sora: The blocks. The maze. Everything funny going on is connected to one villain. Hercules: I see... But, uh, how do you know that? Sora: Oh, err... It's kind of a long story. Sorry, I can't really... Hercules: No worries. Forget I asked. At least I know what I'm after now. Thanks! So, Sora. As long as we're both in here, what do you say we team up? Sora: Sure, if you don't mind! Hercules: 'Course not! (They hear something approach) Hercules: Especially now that we've got company. C'mon, Sora. Let's sort these guys out and take back the Coliseum! (They defeat the group of Heartless) Sora: Nice work, hero! Hercules: You're not half bad, either! At this rate, we'll be done by dinner. Sora: Say, Herc... Any idea who our villain is? Who would want to harm the world? Hercules: Hmm... Well, one snake definitely slithers to mind. Hades, Lord of the Dead. He's gotta be wrapped up in this somehow. Sora: Okay. Let's go pay him a little visit! Hercules: I guess that's the fastest way to find out. He's not around here, I can tell you that much. Sora: Let's find a warp point and move on to the next layer. C'mon, we need to start bashing these blocks. Hercules: You figured that out too, huh? You must be faster at it if you caught up with me. Mind taking the lead? (They search for Hades in the labyrinth) Hades: Heh heh... Buy a clue, losers. As if fighting me will make the big, bad labyrinth go away. Okay, you're on deck. Go put those chumps out of my misery. (He addresses a blond figure with a single black wing) ?????: And the road to the next world will open if I defeat them? Hades: Exactamundo, Spike. And this is your big chance to see what makes a hero tick. That's what you're after, right? ?????: Hmph. Hades: Look, I know, I get it. In the past, you've always come up short when it counted. But with a true hero's strength--still with me? Well, buddy boy, let's just say you'll never come up short again. Now go, and show Hercules who can really go the distance. ?????: Let's get one thing clear. I'm not doing this for you. This is my fight. You stay out of it. (The man leaves) Hades: Geez Louise... This one's a real charmer. (Hades disappears. Later, Hercules and Sora run into the stranger) ?????: Are you the hero Hercules? Sora: Who are you? ?????: To you...a problem. Show me you've got a good reason to fight... and we'll see how it stacks up against mine. (The man takes out his buster sword and they fight the mysterious man) ?????: So what he said about you is true. Hercules: Just who are you? ?????: Cloud. And I'm no friend of heroes. Sora: Hey, what did we ever do to-- (Just as Cloud was about to reply a blast of fire flew past him) Cloud (turning): Nngh! ?????: Tsk, missed. (Hades enters) Hercules: Hades! Cloud: I said this was my fight! Stay out of it! Hades: Please. This stopped being about you, like, ages ago...okay? Cloud: What? Hades: Oh, sure, you COULD have been useful. I mean, hello? I don't lie to chumps like you unless I'm gonna get good mileage. All you had to do was distract Irk-ules long enough for me to mangle his moussaka. But nooo! Sora: All right, admit it! Are you the guy who did this to the Coliseum? Hades: Oh, I see, pick on the guy with ambitions to rule the world. Bzzt, wrong! Hercules: It wasn't you? Hades: Sorry, Wonder Boy, but I'm not the only pine cone in your pita. This maze has another keeper. But hey, I'm a fair sort of god. I'll stay out of your way. Why work when I can just sit back, relax, and watch you all wither away to dust? (He begins to walk away) Cloud: Get back here! Hades: So long, Spike. Go find a bucket and kick it. (Hades vanishes, leaving Cloud and Hercules scowling) Sora: Nice guy. Cloud: So I've been tricked... (He starts to leave) Hercules: Hey, wait! Cloud: Forget this ever happened. (He leaves) Sora: What's his problem? Hercules: He's just another victim of Hades's dirty schemes. Sora: That doesn't explain why his attitude stinks. Hercules: ...Nobody's perfect? Anyway, if Hades isn't our culprit, that's a problem. Sora: Yeah, we can't get out of here until we find the real villain. Hercules: Guess it's back to square one, then. (Sora and Hercules reach another layer of the labyrinth. Meanwhile, Hades muses to himself) Hades: Ugh, I should have known he was a pinhead from the haircut. All that talk about hunting down heroes got my hopes up, but seriously, that was pathetic with a capital P.U.! Well, at least he wore that pair of pests down. And once they see who's guarding the way outta here... Heh heh. That oughta wipe the smirk...off of Herc. (He vanishes in a puff of smoke. Sora reaches a ledge, where he sees Cloud fighting a group of Heartless below) Sora: Hey, isn't that... Cloud! Are you okay!? Hercules: Hold on! We'll be right-- Cloud: Leave me! You two get out of here! Sora: But Cloud! We can't just... Cloud: I dug myself into this hole, and almost dragged you in with me. Now I'll pay for what I've done. Hercules: What do you think, Sora? We could get down there if we circled around. (They find a way down, but find an empty hall) Sora: Huh? Where'd they go? Hercules: Cloud probably knew we'd try to help him, and lured them away. Sora: That's nuts! Ugh, that's Cloud. Where could he have gone? (They head down another hall and find Cloud with the group of Heartless) Cloud: Can't you two take a hint? Sora: 'Fraid not! Cloud: Why are you helping me? Pity? Sora: Yeesh. Would it hurt for ya to let us do you one favor? (They help Cloud defeat the multitude of Heartless) Cloud: No matter what I do, I'm letting somebody down. Hercules: Cloud, wait. Whaddaya say we work together? Cloud (turning away): Why? I attacked you. Hercules: But only because Hades tricked you, right? Cloud: Doesn't matter. I've got no right to join you. I'm not strong enough. Sora: Ugh! We're not asking if you're qualified for the job. What do you WANT to do? Cloud: Huh? Sora: If you're dead set against it, we won't force you. But it beats spending all your time digging around for excuses. Cloud: I'm not--! Sora: If you've lost your way, just pick a direction and walk! You might just catch sight of something along the way, something that'll put you back on course. Hercules: You protected us when Hades attacked. And I'll bet you didn't even think about it. That was the real you. Somebody strong that we can trust. Cloud: It wasn't strength, it was.. Heh, guess I am making excuses. Man, you guys are gonna be sorry... Sora: Then you're in? Cloud: Don't get thew wrong idea. I need to find a way out of here, same as you. I'm just tagging along until then. (Cloud walks ahead) Sora (smiling brightly): Whatever, tough guy. Hercules: Hey, we can't all be people persons. Some folks are better at finding strength on the inside. (The trio come to a large door) Sora: This door seems out of place, huh? Cloud: I doubt we'll find anything pleasant behind it. Hercules: Once we go through, there may not be a way back. Sure you're ready, Sora? Sora: Ready as ever! Hercules: Great. Let's go! (They enter the door and find a set of platforms connected by a flight of stairs) Sora: I don't like the vibes I'm getting. Hercules: Whatever we're up against, it's close. Cloud: Well, you two can call it quits, but me? Not interested. ????????: Grrrrrr... Sora: What was that? Hercules: I think we're about to find out. Cloud: Yeah. Ain't no gettin' off the train we're on now. (The three rush up the stairs and come face to face with a large black dog with three heads. It snaps its triple set of jaws and roars at them) Hercules: Oh no. That's Cerberus, guardian of the Underworld! Well... sort of. Something's wrong with him! Cloud: Cerberus? There's a name I've heard before. Sora: This is the worst I've ever seen the glitches... He's the one. He's what's messing up this world! Hercules: Uh, Sora, stop talking. Here he comes! Sora: Wh-what, already!? But I don't know how to take down something this huge! Hercules: Don't panic. I've fought bigger than this and won. Listen, Sora. You wanna be a hero one day, remember this much--No matter how bad things look, when you need a friend to be there, he'll be there! (Together, they defeat Cerberus) Hercules: We did it! That oughta put the Coliseum back to normal. Cloud: Hmph. About time I found my way home. Sora: C'mon, let's go tell Phil the good news! Hades: Uh, 'scuse me, aren't you forgetting a few loose ends? Yeah, hi, I'm right here. Hercules: Hades! Hades: I finally find a trap with all the right trappings, and what do you do? You go and ruin it. Okay, the thing about deadly mazes? You're supposed to DIE in them. But I see this is going to take a more hands-on approach! Sora: Hey, uh, Herc. I think I know another trick to making it as a hero. Hercules: Oh yeah? Let's hear it. Sora: At the end of the day...make sure you're still standing! (Hades creates a burst of red flames around him. Sora, Cloud and Hercules defeat Hades) Hades: Rrgh! Don't think you've won yet! I've got over 500,000,000 lives! Sure, most of them are ones I took... But I will be back! (He disappears) Hercules: That did it for sure. The Coliseum should change back any minute! (A portal appears) Sora: Any minute, huh? What gives? Wasn't Cerberus the one doing all the harm? Hercules: I guess this maze has more keepers than we bargained for. Sora: Then the real cause is deeper in? Cloud: Looks like we're together for a while longer yet. Hercules: So much for the warm-up. Time for the main event. (They fight through more layers of the Coliseum) Sora: How much farther do we have to go? Hercules: Only one way to find out. Chin up! We can do this. Cloud: Are all heroes this optimistic? (They find another set of platforms connected by a flight of stairs) Hercules: Something about this place feels different. Sora: Another source of the glitches must be close... Cloud: Let's hurry up and finish the job. (They proceed forward to find Hades) Hades: How nice of you to make it. Sora: Hades? Again? Hades: I know, I'm so omnipresent I scare myself. But relax! I'm just here to introduce a little friend. And let me tell ya, he is gonna rock... (The ground shakes) Hades: ...your... (It shakes again) Hades: ...world. (They see the Rock Titan) Hercules: It can't be! Sora: How'd something that big even get in here? Hades: Lucky for me, whatever forces are scrambling the old OC also just happened to free YOUR worst nightmare. That's right, it's rock-paper-scissors, losers! Okay? And you...are the scissors! (He disappears) Hercules: Now this right here is what I expect from the Coliseum. Cloud: I'm not sure I'd want to make a career out of it. Sora: We can take him! Let's put this paperweight out of commission. (The Rock Titan stomps closer to them and roars loudly, swinging its arms. They exchange blows with the beast before it crumbles to the ground) Hades: Ooh! You...you are so annoyingly lucky! Hercules: Give it up, Hades! Sora: Yeah, you've lost! Hades: Uh, please--get with the program. You can't stamp out all the world's evils that easily. I'm feeling kind of spent here, though, so let's chat again, after you've gone down another dozen layers or so, m'kay? Trust me, there's plenty of labyrinth to go, boys, and it all gets uglier from here. (He disappears) Sora: I say bring it on. Hercules: Right. We've come this far. Cloud: Agreed. (The trio fights through a few more layers of the labyrinth) Sora: Are we there yet? Hercules: Heh, getting through this is a labor in itself. Sora: If this doesn't make me a hero, then I quit. Cloud: I knew a guy once who never, ever quit. Hercules: Wanting to be a hero doesn't guarantee you'll become one. But keep at it. If you rise to every challenge, one day you're sure to be a hero to somebody. Cloud: I just wish I knew who. Sora: Right. One challenge at a time, then. (He makes a fist out of determination) Sora: ...Let's go! (They reach another set of platforms connected by a flight of stairs) Sora: Is this it? Hercules: Gotta be! C'mon! Cloud: Right behind ya. (They come upon a gigantic Behemoth Heartless, who looks down on them with small yellow eyes) Sora: What...is THAT? Hercules: I don't think it's one of the locals... Cloud: A Behemoth. Sora: Get ready! (The Behemoth scrapes the ground with its front hooves as if about to charge. Then, it pulls back onto its hind legs and stomps the ground. After a long battle, they take out the monster. They wait for a change in the Coliseum to happen, but nothing does) Sora: He wasn't causing the glitches either? Enough is enough. Cloud: Well, you can whine about it, or you can keep looking. Hercules: C'mon, Sora. Let's keep going. (They proceed through further layers, reaching a room full of bugs) Sora: We gotta be near the end. Cloud: That's right. No turning back. Hercules: I'll tell you, this is one journey I'll never forget. Sora: Heh. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? (They find another set of platforms connected by a flight of stairs. The gate ahead of them is lowered) Sora: Okay, end of the line...I hope? Hercules: Hrrrm... Cloud: Hrrrm... Sora: Never mind. We'll know in a sec. (They proceed forward and the gate is raised) Sora: Made it! (Hades appears, smoky as ever) Hades: And you sure took your sweet time. But you know what? That's okay. Because if there's anything THIS guy knows how to do...it's chill, aha. It all rests on this one! Get ready to turn into titan toe jam, Wonder Breath! (The Ice Titan enters) Hercules: Looks like Hades is down to his last prize fighter. Cloud: Give the guy a gold star for effort. Sora: You ready? Let's hit him with everything we've got! (The Ice Titan takes a deep breath and creates an icy wind across the battlefield. Frosty crystals form in the air around them. Together, they defeat Hades's final minion) Hades: No no no no. It's not possible! BOTH of them!? Why!? Why do I never get a break? Sora: Simple. Hercules: Luck's just not on your side. Cloud: Hmph, and who can blame it? Hades: Why you-- I could just-- RRGH! Fine! Okay! Gloat. Toot those horns. But I'm keeping a VERY special spot in the Underworld EXTRA warm for you punks! (The Coliseum reverts back to normal and they return to the Coliseum Vestibule) Phil: Holy Hera! You guys made it back in one piece!? Sora: Oh ye of little faith. Hercules: Thanks, Sora. I couldn't have done this without you. Sora: Hey, where's Cloud? Phil: What, the schlimazel with the perky haircut? He left. Somethin' about gettin' a jump on his next journey. Sora: What!? He could've at least said good-bye... Phil: Ya know, he did leave a message. He said, "Give my best to the hero and the hero-to-be." Sora: Wait... Hero TO BE? Phil: In other words, kid, you're still in the junior leagues. Sora: Yeesh, rub it in. Hercules: Ha ha! I"m sure you'll make a great hero one day, Sora. I could use a friend like you to help keep Olympus safe. Whaddaya say? Sora: Tempting offer, but I have to go. Got friends waiting. But if ya ever need me again, I'll come running! Hercules: Good to know. Give my best to your friends. Phil: And kid, you keep at the hero biz. You got potential. Drop by if ya ever want some training! Sora: Thanks, Phil! Well, I'll see you guys later! (Sora leaves the lobby. A message appears on the computer screen: "Gathering data... Assembling data... Data recovery... 10%") Sora: Mickey, did that do it? Mickey: Yup. Sora...thank you. Donald: Hey, wait. This time, we didn't get a video. Riku: Right. Those scenes--they originated inside my mind. When you got rid of the bugs, you gave me deeper access to the memories associated with those worlds. (The monitor shows Riku on a destroyed Destiny Islands with a cloaked figure) Riku: The things I saw must have found their way back through the link and shown up on your monitor. (The screen shifts to Sora, Donald, and Goofy clamping hands together in Traverse Town) Jiminy: Well, whaddaya know. If those memories came from deep within the journal itself, then it's really no wonder they're unfamiliar. They don't belong to any of us! Goofy (looking up a the screen): Hmm? Something's happenin'... (A bulky figure on the monitor walks up to Sora) Mickey: Huh? No way! Sora (defensively): Who are you? (The stranger gives a great belly laugh) ????: Playin' dumb, eh? Mickey: Pete's here? How'd you get in? Pete (yelling to the sky): Same way as youse did. Thought I'd take a little vacay from the outside world. Well this here world belongs to me, see, so mitts off! (He runs toward a data portal and jumps inside) Mickey: He must be up to something. Quick! After him! Sora: Right. (Sora follows Pete to Agrabah) Sora: Rats, I lost him. But something tells me he's already up to no good. City's pretty quiet. You'd think it would be busier... Where is everybody? Did something happen? (Sora searches around town for villaagers) Peddler: Huh? A customer! Please, please, come closer! Another day of zero sales and I was ready to pack my camel. (Sora looks through his wares, but finds nothing of interest) Peddler: Err, can I interest you in a coffee maker instead? (He finds a young man in a purple vest standing at the Palace Gates) Sora: Hey there! How come everybody's indoors? ???????: Strange blocks? Weird monsters? Pick a reason. I managed to escape from that cave, but I've got to make sure my friend from the palace is safe, so--Hey, should you be out here? It's not safe on the streets. Sora: I can take care of myself. ???????: Ha ha, I stand corrected. Well, just keep both eyes open, okay? You look like you've been through your share of adventures. (Sora starts to leave the area) ???????: Oh! Hey, wait! Actually, do you have a minute? I need some help. Sora: Sure, what's up? ???????: I'm looking for a friend of mine. Her name's Jasmine and she's... Well, she's special. I've been worried sick, but I can't seem to track her down. I'll keep checking around the palace. If it's all right-- Sora: Say no more. I'm looking for somebody, too, so I'll keep an eye out for Jasmine while I search the city. It's no trouble! ???????: Great! You're a life-saver. I'm Aladdin, by the way. Sora: Sora! Nice to meet you. I'll let you know what I find, okay? Catch ya later! (Sora defeats Heartless through town as he searches for Jasmine. He stops as he hears a voice) ???????: ...ry you? Not in a million years, you snake! (Sora looks toward an alleyway) Sora: It's coming from in there! (He runs in to find a young woman in royal clothes and a tall, thin man with long robes. The man snickers and moves closer as the woman backs away) ?????: You would do well to reconsider, my dear. I would so hate to see you hurt. ???????: My answer will never change, Jafar! I would rather die than marry you! Jafar: Rrgh! That can be arranged! Sora: Leave her alone! ???????: Who are you? Sora: The name's Sora. Umm... Are you Jasmine? Aladdin's been looking for you. Jafar: What!? Aladdin? I thought I was rid of that useless street rat! Hmm, no matter. I can find him once I have dealt with you! Sora: Jasmine, stay back. I'll get this weirdo out of your hair. (Jasmine backs away as Sora fights a teleporting Jafar) Sora: So, who's useless now? Jafar: Grrrah! This is far from over. (He leaves) Jasmine: Thank you, Sora. Sora: No problem, but...how come that guy was bothering you? Jasmine: Jafar? It's absolutely infuriating... (Meanwhile, Jafar reaches the Palace Gates) Jafar: This is absolutely infuriating! As if one street rat weren't enough! ????: Rodent troubles? (Pete walks, holding a magic lamp with swirls of data around it) Pete: I've got your fix right here, pally. Jafar: What? How dare you address me so-- (He gasps) Jafar: That lamp! It's the one I seek! The magic, wish-granting lamp! Pete: Not exactly. I used the glitches in this world to make a fax... facsimuh... A copy. (He laughs) Jafar: "Galichiss"? Of what powerful sorcery do you speak? Give it to me at once! (He snatches it from Pete's hand) Pete: Pushy, pushy. Just do ol' Pete a favor and plunge this world into darkn--Hmm? (Jafar begins laughing maniacally) Jafar: At last, all of my plans will be realized! Heed me, spirit of the lamp! For my first wish, I desire the power to stop anyone who gets in my way! Yes... Yes! (Meanwhile, Sora is still talking to Jasmine) Sora: Wow, so you're a real princess? Who does Jafar think he is? Jasmine: Unfortunately, the royal vizier. And he's plotting something terrible, I just know it. But when I tried to warn the others in the palace, no one would believe me. Jafar is a respected man. Sora: Yeah. what's going on with the city? Jasmine: I'm not sure. All these strange blocks appeared, and that was just the excuse Jafar needed to make his move. While everyone was distracted by the chaos, he tried to capture me. Sora: Does Aladdin know about Jafar? Jasmine: No. Not yet. By the way, how do you know Aladdin? Sora: I ran into him in front of the palace. He said he escaped from some cave... Jasmine: He's alive! Oh, that's wonderful! Sora: Uh-huh. And he was worried sick about you. Let's go find him, and you can get the full story. Jasmine: Wonderful! I'll follow you. (They find Aladdin in the Plaza) Aladdin: Jasmine! You're okay! Jasmine: Aladdin! I'm so glad you're all right. I just wish the same could be said about Agrabah. Aladdin: Don't worry, I've got the answer to our problems right here. (He pulls out a magic lamp) Aladdin: See, I was inside this weird cave in the desert...and wait'll you see what I found! Jafar's days are numbered. ?????: We shall see about that, street rat! (Jafar appears, taking Jasmine hostage) Sora: Jafar! Jasmine: Nnnh! Let me...go! Aladdin: Jasmine! Jafar: Heh heh heh! Now all of Agrabah belongs to me. With the princess for my wife, I shall rule this land as sultan! Sora: No way... Jafar: Hm hm! "Yes way." You see, the lamp has given me a most remarkable power. No one can defy me now! (He takes out the copied lamp) Aladdin: Lamp!? But how did you-- Jafar: Sadly, weddings do take time to plan. And since I'M the one speaking now, you wretches can forever hold your peace! (He raises his staff) Sora: Wha--!? (There's a flash of light and the world takes on a green hue. Sora rushes forward but Jafar and Jasmine have disappeared) Sora: No! They're gone! Quick, Aladdin, we have to go after them! (Aladdin seems frozen in time) Sora: Um... Aladdin? What gives? Why is he frozen in place? This is bad. Mickey: Jafar has hit the city with some kind of powerful spell. Sora: Mickey! You seeing this? What's the diagnosis? Mickey: Well, uh...gosh. It looks like... It looks like Jafar has managed to stop time for the entire city! Sora: Huh? But I can still move. Mickey: You have the Keyblade. Jafar didn't account for that. Still, even the Keyblade won't hold the spell at bay forever. Sora: What!? Then I need to get out of here! But...I can't just leave Aladdin and the city like this. (A parrot flies in) Iago: Well, it's ABOUT TIME Jafar used his little "present" to stir up some sand around here. Good thing he set things up so I don't turn into still life like these other chumps! Now it's my turn to rule the roost! (He sees Aladdin, who is holding the lamp) Iago: And HELLO!? Is that what I think it is? (Sora follows his gaze) Sora: Huh? What's he holding? Hm? The shape's a little different, but it looks like the lamp Jafar had. (Sora moves to take it, but Iago snatches it out of Aladdin's hand with his feet) Sora: H-hey! Iago: What? Ain't ya ever heard of the three-talon discount? Jafar wouldn't tell me what this lamp does, but whatever it is, it's gonna make me one happy parrot! (He flies away) Sora: Ugh, great! Mickey: Sora, you've got to get that lamp back! There's a friend inside who can help you! Sora: "Inside"? Well, if you say so! Mickey: Remember, you don't have much time. You need to find the lamp before it's too late! Sora: I'm on it. (Sora searches around the city in haste, finally seeing Iago when he returns to the Plaza) Sora: There he is! (He rushes over to him) Sora: Please! You have to give that back! Iago: Oh, I'm sorry. I had no idea it meant SO MUCH to you! Now I KNOW it's worth hangin' on to! Buh-bye! (He flies away, pursued by Sora) Jafar: Hmm? What has gotten into Iago now? Wait. That boy! Why has my spell not affected him? No matter. With my new powers, I have found it much easier to...divide my time. (Sora chases Iago through the Alley and comes across a mysterious doppelganger of Jafar) Jafar (laughing): Your time is running short, street rat! (The world flashes) Sora: Wh-what just-- What did Jafar do to me? Mickey: Sora, watch out! If the phantom Jafars touch you, they'll steal what little time you have left! Stay away from them! Sora: I will! Thanks, Mickey. (He chases Iago into the Bazaar) Sora: Give the lamp back! Iago: Yeah, how 'bout YOU give it a rest? This bird's not plannin' on gettin' caught! (He pursues him back to the Plaza and catches him) Sora: Gotcha! Iago: Eep! I plead insanity! And you're even crazier if you think I'm sticking around here! (Sora takes the lamp as Iago flies away) Sora: Whew! About time. Why did Aladdin have this? Was this what he found in the cave? It's a little dirty... A little spit and polish oughta-- (He starts to rub it) Sora: Whoa! (Magical blue smoke swirls out of the end of the lamp and a genie appears) Genie: Troubles, Al? Whoa! You look a little green around the gills, buddy. Oh! Strike that. Everything looks green. Well--Hey, wait. You are not Al. Sora: Yeah, Aladdin can't move 'cause Jafar stopped time and...and, um...who are you? Genie: The name's Genie. Last name "of the lamp," hey, how ya doin'. Ya got, like, issues, man? Just make a wish! Problems solved! Wrongs righted! Service while you wait! Sora: You'll grant all my wishes? Genie: No sirree. Three per customer, while supplies last! That's the limit. Can't expect other people to take care of every little thing. Sora: Hmm, then I better make my wishes count. I'll tell you one thing-- I wish this world had fewer problems! Genie: You wished it, kiddo, you got it. Badda-bing! (Magic erupts from him and the world flashes) Genie: Well? Whaddaya think of your new, totally phantom-free city? Sora: Oh! Uh... They're gone? Thanks! So that unfroze time for Aladdin, too, right? Genie: Huh? Oh dear. Cue remorseful genie in 3, 2, 1... Sora: What!? You didn't help him? Genie: Well, you did say "fewer problems"... Sorry, kid, I guess I just sorta went by the book. Sora: No, it's my fault. I should've been more specific. Genie: Well, I won't have a half-granted wish on my permanent record! We'll call that one a freebie. And guess what--to make it up to you, I've even got a trace on your bad guy. How's that for service? Sora: Bad guy... You mean Jafar? Now we're talking! Let's try this again. Genie, I wish for you to take me to Jafar! Genie: You got it, boss! Buckle up, 'cause here...we...gooo! (He waves his arms and they are transported to the Desert outside a large cave in the shape of a tiger's head) Sora: Looks like time is flowing normally here. Genie: Correctamundo! The spell was just on the city. Sora: Good. No more running around on borrowed time. (They see Jafar just outside the cave) Sora: Jafar! Jafar (whirling around): What!? How did you get here? (He sees the Genie) Jafar: Ah, of course. So you have obtained the real lamp. And that preposterous weapon is no doubt also to blame. Sora: What did you go with Jasmine? Jafar: My future queen is resting, on the far side of the door. Sora: Door? What door? Jafar: What door indeed? You will never find it, boy. Sora: You'll tell me once I'm done with you! Jafar: Oh ho, I think not. Sadly, I must go steal Jasmine's heart. And you will not interfere again. (He takes out the copied lamp) Jafar: Spirit of the lamp! Heed my second wish! Keep these pests from following me! Sora: What are you-- (The world flashes again and Jafar is gone) Sora: Hey! The mouth of the cave has closed! It must be glitched, too. (Sora finds the backdoor and fixed the glitch in the data. When he returns, the cave mouth is open again) Sora: There. Much better. Jafar must be inside. (Sora enters the cave and the genie appears) Genie: Hmm, this isn't going to be easy, chief. I'm picking up a triple dose of traps on my lamp-dar. Sora: It's that stupid lamp Jafar's got. But if he's cranking up the security, that can only mean Jasmine's inside. Genie: Smells like a theory to me. Sora: Let's go find her and put Jafar in his place. Genie: Right on, Master. You need any help, just rub-a-dub-dub. (The Genie disappears. Sora makes his way through the Cave of Wonders, dodging traps along the way. He reaches a doorway and sees...) Sora: A waterfall of sand... (The waterfall distorts) Sora: Wait. There's more here than meets the eye. (Sora finds a backdoor and fixes the glitch) Sora: Did that do the trick? (Sora enters the doorway now that the sand has vanished) Genie: Hmm, this place smells fishy, and we're a long way from water. Sora: Jafar must be close, then. You think there's hope for Aladdin and the city? Genie: Well, sure there is! A few swift kicks in Jafar's caboose oughta kickstart time for Agrabah. And Al will be free as a bird! I"m jealous, really. I'd give anything for that freedom... But, I'm stuck until my master wishes me free. Sora: You want to be free... Gosh, sorry. I never put myself in your shoes. Genie: That's okay. I don't have any. But there's genie-hood for you! Phenomenal, cosmic power... Itty-bitty living space. ...Wow, déjŕ vu! I think I said the same thing to Al. Ya know, he seemed to understand more than the others... Sora: This is where you two met, right? Aladdin's a good friend. When we first met, he was looking out for me, too. Come on, Genie. He needs us. Genie: Lead the way! (Sora makes his way through the Gauntlet until he reaches a descending platform) Sora: The floor--it's sinking! Better be careful. I don't wanna fall off! (He defeats Heartless until the platform reaches the bottom, where he enters the Lamp Chamber) Sora: It's over, Jafar! You've got no place else to run! Jafar: What? How could you have eluded all those traps? Hmph, it seems clear to me now... You are no street rat. Why not serve me? Whatever you desire, I can make happen. Sora: Whatever I desire, huh? All right... I desire for Aladdin to be sultan. Make that happen! Jafar: Him!? Do not toy with me. Perhaps you need a lesson in what a true ruler can do. That is, IF you can tell the true ruler from the others! (He raises his snake staff and its eyes glow. Jafar is surrounded by a red aura and his form splits into three Jafars. They each teleport around the battlefield aiming various attacks at Sora. Eventually, Sora lands the decisive blow on Jafar) Sora: Give up, Jafar! Let Jasmine go. The city, too! Jafar: Rrgh! You leave me little choice. I was saving my final wish to make Jasmine love me, but now I will simply have to take princess and city by force! (He takes out the lamp) Jafar: Spirit of the lamp! I wish for you to make me an all-powerful genie! (The world flashes) Sora: Where'd he go? Jafar: HA, ha ha haaa! I told you, boy. You will never find the far side of the door. And now...such power! Nothing can stop me from shaping the world as I see fit! Savor your final moments, boy. Soon, I will crush you! Sora: Now what do I do? If he has Genie's power... Mickey: Don't panic, Sora. Jafar's closer than you think. Sora: Mickey! Are you sure? Mickey: Think about it--what do we know about hidden doors? Jafar must be inside the Keyhole! You've got to find it, and quickly. Sora: Leave it to me. (Sora destroys a pile of blocks and finds the Keyhole behind it) Sora: Aha! Now, time to face Jafar... Here goes! (Sora opens the Keyhole with the Keyblade and runs inside. He finds himself in a large room with a fiery pit below. Jafar bursts out of the lava in his new red genie form and gazes down at Sora, arms crossed) Jafar: Impressive, boy. But your persistence has won you nothing. I am invincible? What can you possibly do? Sora: Rrgh, I'll get back to you on that. Genie: *Bzzrt bfft* Genie here. Do you read me, Sora? Sora: Loud and clear, Genie! Genie: He's not kidding about the invincible part. None of your attacks can hurt him. But, Jafar is a genie now. Which means... (Sora sees Iago fly past him, carrying the lamp) Sora: The lamp! Genie: Nab that, and you've got a shot, kiddo. Just be careful! Jafar still has the power to call time-out. Sora: Roger that, Genie. Over and out! (Sora runs after Iago while dodging attacks from Jafar) Jafar: Hold still, you bothersome brat! Rrgh, very well... See how you handle this! (Jafar manipulates the blocks around the area to hinder Sora's pursuit of Iago) Iago: Huff...huff... Hoo! I'm gettin' all flapped out. Genie: Now's your chance, Sora! Knock down that lamp! But you can't give Iago the old one-two if you can't reach him... See anything around that'll give a leg-up? Sora: Sure do! Thanks, Genie! Jafar: You've scurried around long enough. This is the end, boy! (Sora dodges Jafar's attacks and goes after Iago, who drops the lamp) Iago: Eep! Okay, okay, I give up! Just watch the tail feathers! Jafar: No! My lamp! Genie: Now, Sora! Sora: Right! Time for you to see your new home, Jafar! (Jafar gets caught in a swirl of energy and is sucked into the lamp) Pete: Grrrrrr! No fair! That clown was supposed to cast this world into darkness! Sora: Huh? Pete! You're not getting away this time! (He vanishes in a data cloud) Sora: Or...maybe you are. (The genie appears) Genie: Sora! Leaving already? Sora: Yeah, Genie... I've gotta go. Will you help Jasmine back to town and give the lamp to Aladdin? Genie: Consider it done! That's wish number two. So what's on the menu for numero tres, amigo? Sora: Well, I know what I want to wish for. But I think Aladdin would want the same thing, and we can't both wish it. He found the lamp first... Well, what matters is, he was your friend first. He'll do what's right. Genie: Gosh, Sora... That was beautiful! I'll tell Al that's how ya feel. Thanks. Sora: Are you kidding? Thank YOU! Take care, Genie. Tell everybody I said "hi." (A message appears on the computer screen: "Gathering data... Assembling data... Data recovery... 30%". Sora leaves the Cave and sees Pete) Sora: All right, Pete! You're through running. Pete: Heh heh heh. Who said anything about running? Sora: Huh? Pete: All right, come on out and show him who's boss...Maleficent. (The evil witch Maleficent appears) Sora: Who are you? Maleficent: An amusing jest, boy, but one I will not abide. If you desire a reminder of my power... Then I shall give you one! (Her staff flashes as she raises it high and Sora is knocked backwards, his Keyblade sent flying. It strikes the sand keys-down and draws Maleficent's attention) Maleficent: Isn't that odd? (Sora looks up in horror as Maleficent uses her staff to float the Keyblade over to her, orb glowing with a greenish aura. She slices the staff in the air and the Keyblade shatters into pieces, shocking Sora beyond belief. Maleficent laughs as the shards fall around her) Maleficent: So we see, 'twas but a lie. And now that it's gone, this entire world shall be mine to rule. (A horde of Shadow Heartless appear around her as Sora tries to stand) Maleficent: Yes, my loyal minions. Drag all that you see into deepest darkness! (Sora shields himself as the Shadows pounce but are dismissed as Riku and King Mickey arrive) Riku: You okay? (Sora looks up and smiles) Sora: Riku... Mickey (They both nod) Mickey: Maleficent. What are you doing here in the datascape? Maleficent: "Date escape"? Spare me your dull details. Pete: But since you're wonderin', it was all my idea, you bozo. (The scene shifts to Disney Castle, where Pete is sneaking through the Colonnade) Pete (voiceover): We caught wind right away you was up to somethin', see. (Pete reaches the door to the Library and peeks in) Pete (voiceover): So, I decided to pay ya a little visit on Maleficent's orders. And what do I find? (Pete watches Mickey, Donald, Jiminy, and Goofy staring at the computer monitor. A flash appears) Mickey: What's that bright light? (The light engulfs them and they are turned into data, taking Pete along with them) Pete (voiceover): And that's how yours truly got sucked into the light show. (Pete finds himself in a room with pictures of the various data worlds) Pete (voiceover): I woke up all by my lonesome in the weirdest place. (He sits up suddenly and looks around, scratching his head) Pete: Oh! (He stands up and shouts) Pete: Maleficent! You seein' this? Better get here right away! Maleficent (entering in a fiery portal): You'll take no such tone with me. (She walks toward him and looks around the bright room) Maleficent: What is this place? Pete: I ain't no expert, but I think it's hookin' a bunch of places together. Could come in handy for takin' over them worlds, huh? Maleficent: It does seem...for once you may have done something right. (She grins and the scene shifts back to Agrabah) Pete: And there ya have it. We's been diggin' around in here ever since. Turns out this place connects right to that there castle o' yours. Or at least it DID, before I took control of the only way out. Sora: So you're the one who cut the link! Maleficent: Rest assured, both worlds shall be mine before long. Once I have immersed this one in darkness, I can send my Heartless horde back into your castle! Mickey: No! Maleficent: The long slumber has ended, and a new era has begun--one where all worlds belong to me! But my worlds must be free of light, and yours shine far too brightly. This time, it is you who will sleep! Riku: Wrong. This is one world I won't let you touch! Maleficent: Hmph! Foolish boy! (Her staff glows as he moves into attack, but is stopped in his tracks) Riku: Arrrgh! Mickey: Riku! Maleficent: Now, you boy... You belong to the darkness, not the light. I shall take this one with me. I am sure he will prove...useful. (Maleficent and Riku vanish in a dark portal) Pete: Check, AAAND mate! So long, suckers. (He laughs and disappears in a data cloud) Sora: No! Riku... (They return to Disney Castle) Jiminy: This is terrible! Poor Riku. Goofy: Say, fellas, hasn't Riku got all the journal data inside him? If Maleficent casts him into the darkness... Donald: Then the whole datascape will go kaplooie. Mickey: How many worlds still have bugs, Jiminy? Jiminy: Err...just one, it looks like. We were so close, but now... Sora: That was your way home, huh... Guys, I'm so sorry. I really blew it. Mickey: It's not your fault, Sora. And don't you worry. I'll take care of this. Jiminy: Y-you, Your Majesty? Mickey: Well, why not? I'll find another way to fix the bugs, and rescue Riku, too! Sora: Let me help, Mickey! This time, I won't let anyone take the Key... Huh? That's weird. The Keyblade's not... I can't summon it! Mickey: Sora... I'm sorry. Maleficent destroyed your Keyblade. Sora (sadly): For good? Mickey: I have to be honest with you. That Keyblade was something we wrote into the datascape from the outside. Now that we're trapped inside the datascape, there's no way for us to get it back. Sora: But I want to-- Mickey: I know. But you've already done a lot for us! It's time for me to see what I can do. Now, you all sit tight right here! (Mickey leaves) Donald: I'm worried. Do you think the King needs help? Goofy: Aw, he'll manage. You don't get to be "King" for nothin'! A-hyuck! Donald: Well, he can show those Heartless a thing or two, but... Jiminy: Now Maleficent and Pete are on the loose. And let's not forget-- Goofy: The bugs... Gawrsh, this worryin' thing is contagious. Donald: But he definitely said to sit tight. (Sora runs out) Donald: Sora, what do you think we should do? ...Um, Sora? Jiminy: He was there a second ago. Goofy: Uh, fellas, you don't think... (Sora runs to the Rising Falls of Hollow Bastion) Sora: The Keyblade's not everything. I can still help. Even if it just means getting Riku out of here... (Pete turns around, seeing him) Pete: Hm? You again? What's a has-been like you doin' here? Sora: Start talking, Pete! Where are you keeping Riku? Pete: Well, shucks, if ya wanna find out that bad...you're just gonna have to catch me--YA NITWIT! And good luck tryin'. I just finished rigging the joint, Pete-style! You won't last ten steps. (He leaves) Sora: H-hey! That's what you think! (Sora rushes after him) Pete: So long, sucker! (Pete runs into the castle. Sora follows him but sees the doors are closed) Sora: Nngh... These doors won't budge. There has to be a switch or something to open them... (Sora makes his way to the other end of the walkway, dodging Heartless and blocks, and finds a lift) Sora: Looks like this'll take me somewhere... It's worth a shot. (Sora takes the lift to an underground waterway) Sora: Pete said he rigged this place. I better keep my eyes peeled. (Sora activates a switch to unlock a door) Sora: Yeah! Now we're talking. (Sora reaches a switch connected to a series of mechanical parts) Sora: What's this switch? (He turns it and hears a rumbling) Sora: That sounds like something heavy moving... The doors? (Sora heads back upstairs to the double doors, which are now open. He reaches the Entrance Hall and is surrounded by a wall of blocks) Sora: Hey! Pete must want to trap me in. (Pete appears and laughs at him) Pete: You're a real piece of work, waltzin' in here when you can't do nothin'! Sora: I can do enough to wipe that smug look off your face! Pete: Oh, I'm shakin' in my boots. Heartless? Get 'im! (He summons a group of Shadows) Pete: Now you all play nice while I finish settin' up our little puppet show. (Pete leaves) Sora: Get back here! (Sora avoids the Heartless for as long as he can) Sora: Rrgh! This is ridiculous. If I had my Keyblade, these guys would be toast. Well, this is it. Do or die-- Goofy: Look out, Sora! Waa-ha-hoo-hooey! (He charges in and takes out the Heartless, to Sora's surprise) Goofy: Gawrsh, Sora! The King said to stay put. Sora: Goofy! Goofy: You shouldn'ta run off on your own like that. Sora: I know, I'm sorry, I just-- Goofy: Nope. Not another word. Let's get goin'. Sora: All right...I'm going. (He turns toward the door) Goofy: A-hyuck, goin' where? It's this direction! (He motions toward the stairs) Sora: Huh? Goofy: We're chasin' after Pete, aren't we? Let's hurry, before he gets too far! Sora: You're not mad? Thanks, Goofy, I owe ya. Goofy: Owe me for what? Ya said it yourself, Sora. Friends don't keep score! Sora: Right! Goofy (readying his shield): Uh-oh! Company! Leave it to me. Sora: Thanks! (Goofy defeats the Heartless) Goofy: You didn't happen to see Donald, did ya? We were lookin' for ya together, but musta got split up somewhere along the way. Sora: You don't know where? But this castle is huge! I hope he's okay. We'll have to keep and eye out while we look for Pete. (They reach a door with an insignia on it) Goofy: Pete went through there, right? Sora: I think so. Goofy (pushing on it): Doesn't seem to...nngh, wanna open... Sora: Wait, check out these slots on the door. This shape must be the Heartless's emblem. If we find the pieces that fit in the slots... (They search for the emblem pieces. When they return to the Castle Gates, they see someone running along the walkway) Sora: Huh? Isn't that... Hey, Donald! Wait up! Goofy: We better go after him, Sora. Sora: Right. Hurry! (They descend to the waterway in search of Donald) Sora: Where'd Donald run off to? Goofy: I think he's close. (They activate a series of switches and find Donald) Sora: Donald! Goofy: We finally caught up. Donald: Sora! (His expression turns furious) Donald: And Goofy! Where did you wander off to? This is no time to go missing! Goofy: Me? Sora: Yeah, Donald. Aren't YOU the one who went missing? Donald (stamping the ground): Oh, whatever! Do you have any idea how worried I was? Goofy: Sorry, Donald. Sora: Me too. I dragged you guys into a real mess, and I hardly even know you. Donald: Now just wait a second! Sora: Huh? Goofy: We kinda like gettin' dragged into your messes. Sora: Um...why? Donald: It's no fun watching from the other side of the computer screen! We've been looking for an excuse to help--so we can go on adventures together, just like old times. Goofy: We may not be a new Keyblade, but you sure can count on us! Sora: I don't know what to say. But I'll start with "thanks"! Donald: You just leave the Heartless to me! I'll show 'em who's boss! (Donald shoots a spell and it activates a crystal switch) Sora: Whaddaya know... This thing responded to your magic. Donald (surprised): It did? Er, it did! Just like I...planned? (They find one of the emblem pieces in the waterway) Sora: This has gotta be one of the pieces that fits in that door. (They return to the castle and find another switch in the library) Sora: Donald, will your magic work on this thing? Donald: I'll give it a try! (He shoots a spell at it and a bookshelf slides over to reveal a doorway. They continue rearranging the library until they reach the upper level of the Entrance Hall, where they find the rest of the emblem pieces) Sora: Okay! That's the last emblem piece. Let's hope it does the trick with that weird door. Donald: Yeah! We gotta stop Pete! Sora: C'mon! (They return to the door with the insignia and Sora inserts the pieces in their places) Sora: There! How's that for a perfect fit? Donald: You said Pete went through here, right? Sora: Yeah... Something about a..."puppet show." Goofy: Whatever's in there, fellas, we better watch out. Donald: Pete's the one that's gonna have to watch out. (They take the Lift Stop to the High Tower) Sora: Donald, Goofy... I'm glad I have you guys. Goofy: A-hyuck, where did that come from? Sora: It's just...weird, ya know? When I'm with you two, I feel like I can do anything. Don't laugh, but... Well, it almost feels like we've done this before. Donald: Well, that right there is a sign you've found true friends! Goofy: It's kinda fun to make the same friend twice. Donald: But right now, it's time to get serious. Goofy: Right! Don't forget, Riku's still waitin' for us! Sora: Okay, c'mon! (They debug a system sector and find Pete in the Grand Hall) Sora: We've got you now, Pete! Pete: Couldn't do a thing by yourself, so you went cryin' to your pals, eh? Well it won't do ya a lick of good! (He summons a group of Heartless) Sora: Incoming Heartless! Donald: Lemme at 'em! Pete: Heh heh, gotcha! (As they fend off the Heartless, a trail of blocks goes after Sora) Donald: Sora! Goofy: Look out! (Donald and Goofy run toward Sora but the blocks turn and surround them both) Donald: Wak! We're trapped! Goofy: I can't...move... Sora: Donald! Goofy! What do I do? Pete: Gah ha ha ha! What a pair of rubes! Why risk your necks for a lump of data? Oh yeah, I know all about this phony. Youse guys MADE him, just like that phony Keyblade he's got! Donald: Don't you ever talk about Sora like that! He's our friend in this world and every other one, too! Sora: Donald... Pete: Hmph, maybe on the outside, but he's just an empty shell. The kid don't got a heart. Goofy: That's not true! We've got Sora's heart right here! Pete: Oh yeah? Donald: You'd see it too, if you were looking. Why would he keep fighting for us--no matter the danger, no matter how hard things got--if he didn't care? Goofy: A-yep! And we'll fight for him too. Ya know why? Because he's in our hearts as much as we're in his. Our friend is our power! Donald: And we'll always be his! Sora: We're...connected. Pete: Aww, can your mush! Youse guys are finished! Let's see your "power" protect ya from this! (The blocks begin to crush Donald and Goofy) Donald: Wak! Goofy: Yeowch! Sora: Donald, no! Goofy! (Sora looks defeated) Sora: Stop... Please, don't hurt them... Pete: Nighty-night, losers! (The blocks continue moving) Sora: NO!!! (There is a flash and the blocks are gone. In Sora's hand is the Keyblade) Sora: What...just... The Keyblade? Pete (shocked): W-what's the big idea!? I saw Maleficent destroy that thing! Mickey: Sora, you're just full of surprises! (Mickey enters) Sora: Mickey! Sora: Why? What did I do? Mickey: I'm not sure, Sora. All I can say is that something in you has changed. The Keyblade takes its power from the wielder's strength of heart. But an old friend of mine once said, "A heart is so much more than any system." I gave you the Keyblade as data, and never expected it to match the real Keyblade's power. But during your journey, you made a connection...with us. You've risen above the system, Sora, and gained power unlike anybody else's. And THAT's what brought your Keyblade back. Sora: Wow... Mickey: I guess we were meant to handle this world's bugs together! (The four of them ready their weapons and face Pete) Pete: It ain't fair! Sproutin' a new Keyblade is cheating! Better make a strategic retreat, before-- Sora: Not so fast! First, hand over Riku...or else. Pete (backing away): Uhmmm... Now, let's TALK about this... (The world begins to rumble and shake) Sora: Huh? What now? (A message appears on the computer screen: "Gathering data... Assembling data... Data recovery... 60%". In the Grand Hall, a Keyhole appears) Pete: So long, chumps! (He disappears in a cloud of data) Sora: No! We lost him! Goofy: But we FOUND a Keyhole! Donald: Let's head inside! Sora: Hold on, guys. Leave this one to me. Donald: Why? Sora: I never would have made it here without the three of you. But it's my turn now. Let me be your light, and I'll show you the way home! Donald: Um, isn't that hamming it up a little? Sora (laughing): Yeesh... Let me have my moment. (Mickey, Donald, and Goofy laugh along with him) Goofy: A-hyuck! We'll let it slide this time. Mickey: You don't have to do this alone, Sora. Remember that you're part of a team. When you get hurt, it hurts us, too. Sora: How could I forget? I promise I'll come back safe. (Sora enters the Keyhole and catches up to Pete) Sora: End of the road, Pete! Pete: Whuh? Don't you know when to quit? Sora: Do yourself a favor and come quietly. Pete: Hmph! After all the times you've ruined my plans? Not likely! It's my turn to teach you a trick or three of my own! (Pete fights Sora but is easily dismissed) Pete: Hmph, not bad, bozo... No more Mr. Nice Pete! (Pete turns into an orb of lightning and strikes Sora with several bolts. After returning to normal, Sora defeats him) Pete: Oof.. Not again. Sora: Give up? Pete: Heh! I still gots an ace up my sleeve. Come on out and say hello! (Riku appears in a data cloud, wearing a dark outfit) Sora: Riku? Riku: Stay back, Sora! (He cries out) Sora: Riku? Wha...what's wrong? Pete: I took the liberty of takin' his liberty away. All I had to do was load some of those bug thingies into your pally's data-matronics. (He laughs) Pete: Now, let's see what my new minion can do. Your master orders you to attack! Riku: Hrgh... Not a chance... Pete: Hm? No dice, eh? Guess we need a little more juice... (Riku struggles in pain) Sora: Leave him alone! Pete: That oughta do it. I'll just leave you two to get reacquainted. So long! (Pete exits) Sora: Riku! Talk to me! Mickey: I heard a scream, Sora. What's going on in there!? Sora: Mickey, it's Riku! They put bugs in him! Mickey: What!? Riku, can you hear me? Riku! (Riku says nothing) Sora: Come on, Riku! Can't you hear us? Riku: Nngh... Strike me...down... Sora: What? (Riku draws his weapon and makes an attack, but Sora dodges backwards. Having no choice, he fights his friend. After a while, Riku rests on his knee, holding himself up with his sword. Data forms around him and he gains more power. After more fighting, he is knocked back by the Keyblade and more data surrounds him, helping him back on his feet. Sora fights harder, struggling with the speed and ferocity of his opponent. With the final blow, the two reappear in the Grand Hall. Sora bursts out of the data cloud and runs to Riku, who lies on the floor. Blocks have formed around his body and he lies comatose. A light appears from the Keyblade) Sora: Huh? (Sora lifts it and it points toward Riku, sending out a light toward him. With a shout and a flash, Sora sees another Keyhole appear above Riku as Mickey, Donald, and Goofy rush toward them) Sora: Is he... Do you think... Mickey: Well, if the bugs have taken over Riku...then that means... He might not ever wake up--unless we get rid of the bugs first. (They look sadly towards Riku) Sora: Riku... So if I debug him, Riku will come back to us. Guys, I gotta go inside to look. Donald: But what about you!? Goofy: Who's to say if it's even safe inside Riku? Sora: I know it's risky. But if a friend needs me to be there, I'll be there--to help! (Donald, Goofy, and Mickey smile) Jiminy: Well, I guess that's Sora for ya. Donald: Still can't talk you out of it, huh? Goofy: A-hyuck! But we'll do everything we can to help you out! Sora: Thanks, guys. (Sora stands in front of the Keyhole and raises his Keyblade) Mickey (voiceover): Sora, don't forget--you're not going in there alone. (A light shoots out toward the Keyhole) Mickey (voiceover): Your friends'll be right there fighting alongside ya in spirit, no matter where ya go. (The light surrounds Sora, as he looks toward his friends and smiles. The light is pulled into the Keyhole and disappears. Sora is transported to a black room with data streams lining the walls in haphazard directions) Sora (looking around): So this is Riku's datascape. It's so...empty. (A flash appears in his chest and he gives a shout as several orbs of data float out of him) Sora: Wh...what's going on? I feel k-kinda funny. (Riku appears) Riku: Sora! You okay? Sora: You're asking ME? Riku: You shouldn't be here. I can fight the bugs off a little longer... but they're spreading. Pretty soon they'll take over all my data. You feel weak, right? It's because the bugs have stolen your data. You won't last long in here. Take this and escape while you can. Sora: What is it? Riku: Data I found on my other partition. It doesn't belong in Jiminy's journal. Somebody added it after the fact. Sora: The same person that hid the journal's contents inside you? Riku: I'm not sure. It's up to you now to find out. Thanks to you, all the bugs outside of me are gone. If you can just solve the mystery of this extra data, then the journal will be completely restored. That should open the way back for Mickey and the others. Sora: But what about you? Riku: I'll dive into the darkness, and take these bugs with me. They'll never see the light again. Sora: But... Riku: Go, Sora. While I'm still in control. The bugs are getting stronger, but there's still just enough time. Sora: Well, then...I guess that settles it. Riku: Right, so you better-- Sora: If there's just enough time to escape, then there's just enough time to stop the bugs. We can beat this, Riku! Riku: What? You're not listening! Sora: Heh heh! Come on, Riku. You didn't really think I'd just give up and leave? Riku: Sora, I... Ugh, why do I bother? Once you get an idea in your head, that's it. Sora: Well, at least you learned to stop trying! That's progress! Riku: All right, well the bugs have stolen your powers, so the first thing you've gotta do is get them back. (The world flashes and a portal appears) Riku: That light over there leads deeper into my data. Inside is a world from my memories...and some of the bugs that took your data. Get the data back, get your powers back. It's simple. THEN you can worry about me. Once you've regained your powers and stopped the bugs in one world, another world should open. Be careful. Sora: Right. Be right back! Riku: Good luck in there. And thanks. Sora: Any time! (Sora enters the portal and arrives on the Destiny Islands, which is overrun by blocks) Sora: Yeesh. What a mess! Okay, first I get my powers back. Then I go squash the bugs. (Sora destroys Heartless and blocks around the island and regains some of his power. He finds a system sector on the smaller island) Sora: That must be the source of the bugs. There's something in there... and it's strong. (Sora enters the system sector and debugs the system. Riku appears on the island when he returns) Sora: Riku? Riku: I can access this world now that you've weakened the bugs. It's our island... Sora: Yeah... Hey, remember when you gave me the Keyhole? Riku: You needed a chance to prove yourself with the Keyblade--and to learn how things work in the datascape. Sora: Yeah, the riddles were a nice touch. Did you know I was gonna have to fight that thing inside? Riku: Sink or swim. Sorry. The clock was ticking. Inside the journal, the Heartless had already shattered the walls between worlds, and now the wall between the datascape and the real world was under attack from the bugs. I used that to my advantage and called Mickey and the others here to help. Sora: Some kind of...mysterious message, right? Not much progress there. Riku: I shouldn't have dragged everybody into this without asking. Sora: Well, no big deal, as long as we get them home. So whaddaya say? Back to work? Riku: Right. Come with me. (They transport out of the world and back to the hub inside Riku) Riku: One source of the bugs has been eliminated, so a new world has opened. Keep it up, Sora. Sora: Okay, I'm going in. Riku: The bugs are spreading faster than I thought. Watch yourself in there. Sora: I know, I know. (Sora enters the next world) Sora: Traverse Town... Riku: Sora... Sora: Riku? Riku: The source of the bugs may not be so easy to find this time. Sora: Just leave it to me! (Sora defeats Heartless and blocks in the First District and enters the door into the Third District) Sora (looking around): Hey, wait a second... Riku: What is it, Sora? Sora: How come I took the door to the Third District and wound up in the Second? Riku: The bugs must be messing with the town's layout. Find the source of the bugs and you can fix this. Sora: On my way! (Sora defeats Heartless in the Second District and enters a door in the bell tower. He finds himself still in the Second District and on floor level near the Alleyway) Sora: Hmm, this isn't right either. I've gotta stop these bugs! (After regaining some more of his strength, he finds a backdoor in the First District) Sora: This must be the source of the town's bugs. (Sora debugs the world with another system sector and Riku appears again) Riku: Looks like you've taken care of the bugs here, too. Sora: Riku! Riku: Thanks, Sora. Last time I was here, it was to keep the triplets safe. Sora: Huey, Dewey, and Louie? Riku: Right. They had the pieces of the Keyhole, which made them targets. Somebody had to look out for them. Sora: Riku, why didn't you just tell what was going on? Riku: You still needed to toughen up a little on your own. You had a difficult job ahead, and if you couldn't do it... Well, I guess I would've been on my own. Sora: Riku... You always try to take everything on by yourself. But I LIKE getting dragged into your messes. Donald and Goofy said the same thing to me. Riku: Maybe so, but-- Sora: Forget this "on my own" talk already. Riku: Sorry... You're right. Sora: And stop saying you're sorry. We've got better things to do! You ready? (They teleport back to the data hub, where another portal appears) Sora: Okay, let's check out this next world. Riku: Sora... Sora: Don't you say "sorry" again! Are we friends or not? I'll have this taken care of in no time. (Sora enters Wonderland) Sora: This is where I met Alice. The bugs might be messing with the layout again. Better keep my eyes peeled. (Sora fights Heartless and blocks in the Lotus Forest and regains more of his strength. He finds a backdoor on a ledge) Sora: Here's the source. (Sora enters and debugs the system. Riku appears afterward) Riku: Sora... Really, I'm sor-- Sora: Nope! Don't say it! Riku: Can you blame me? I shouldn't have let the bugs in like this. Every time it's me against some outside force, I give in and-- Sora: Riku, would you can it for a second? How many worlds have we been to now? Riku: Um... Sora: 'Cause not long ago, the answer would've been "one." But now, you and me have been all kinds of places, and instead of dreaming about what's out there, we only have to remember it. We've got the whole universe inside of us. Just let that sink in for a second. Riku: ...Pretty incredible. Sora: All those worlds inside you, and you know what? You're still Riku. Doesn't matter how many "outside forces" you have to face--because everything you touch makes you stronger. Always has. Riku: Th-thanks. Sora: Heh heh, you like that? Sounded wise beyond my years, right? Riku: A little flowery, but you made your point, half-pint. Sora: H-hey! I'll remember that when I'm taller than you! Riku: Ha ha! I look forward to that. And Sora? Sora: Yeah? Riku: ...Never mind. I'll tell you when all this is over. Sora: Sure, okay--when I see you on the other side! (They return to the data hub, and another portal appears) Sora: Think this is the last one? Whaddaya think? One to go? Riku: We're running out of time. The bugs are...w-winning... Sora: You mean the bugs I'm about to squish? Don't worry, Riku. I'll deal with it. (Sora teleports to the next world) Sora: This is that cave in Agrabah. I need to find my way out. (Sora regains more of his strength by battling Heartless and blocks until he finds a system sector on the nose of the Cave of Wonders) Sora: Aha! So this is where it was hiding! (Sora debugs Agrabah and Riku appears) Riku: Remember this place? Sora: Yeah. This is where Maleficent ambushed me. If it wasn't for you, I'd have been a goner. Riku: Mickey and I knew Pete'd have another trick up his sleeve. Sora: Well, it was a good one. I lost the Keyblade. But see, that just proves things are gonna work out! Riku: Um, how? Sora: No matter what you lose, you can always get it back. And that means YOU can get yourself back! Riku: Heh, I sometimes envy how simple your world is. Sora: Is...that a compliment? Riku: I envy whatever makes you think it could be. Sora (laughing): Gee, thanks. Riku: Ha ha ha. Race ya back. (He teleports away) Sora: H-hey, wait up! (Sora follows. When they return to the data hub, there is a flash) Riku: Okay. Enough of the hurt has been undone for you to access the innermost reaches of my data. In there is the source of all the other sources of the bugs. Be careful... We don't know what it is, where it came from, or why it's really here. Sora: No... But we know that taking it out will clear up the last of the datascape's problems. Right? Riku: Right. Everything should go back to the way it was. Sora: Thanks for all this, Riku. I feel like going through your memories has made me stronger. Riku: You don't have to thank me. Sora: Sure I do! You've guided the whole way. You were even there when I first woke up, when I first got the Keyblade. Riku: Huh? No, the first time I saw you was on our island. Sora: What? But I'm sure I saw you there... In your black coat? Hunh. That's weird. Riku: Well, stay focused. Are you ready for this fight? I can't go in with you. About all I can tell you is not to hold back, no matter what you see in there. Sora: Huh? Okay... Wish me luck. Riku: Just remember what I said. Sora: Don't hold back, no matter what I see. I got it. Riku: Good. (Sora enters Hollow Bastion, where he finds...) Sora: Riku!? But you-- Riku: Hmph. Sora: No... You're not him. The bugs must've absorbed his power and taken this form. That explains the warnings. Here goes! (Sora fights the bugged Riku) Sora: Yes! All my strength is back! Which means...Riku has been debugged! Wait'll everybody hears the good news! (A message appears on the computer screen: "Gathering data... Assembling data... Data recovery... 90%. Conditions for awakening met." Sora returns to the data hub) Riku: You did it! Nice work, Sora! Sora: Thanks! Riku: The bug tried to use my power for itself, didn't it? Sora: Yeah... How'd you know? Riku: Just one of those gut feelings. I thought it might try to exploit the darkness inside me. Maybe...I've been a little jealous. You're always surrounded by friends who trust you and are there to support you-- Sora: Okay, stop right there. First of all, I trust you. Second of all, my friends are your friends, too. Just ask 'em! Mickey: Riku! Sora! Are you two all right in there? Donald: Squish some bugs for me, would ya!? Goofy: A-hyuck! Just holler if ya need some help! Riku: Heh heh. Okay, you win. Sora: C'mon. They're all waiting for us! (The room starts to shake) Sora: Um, Riku... Riku: No! Sora, you've got to escape, right now! Someone's trying to close the road back to the outside world! Hurry, or you'll be trapped in here! Sora: O-o-okay! I'm going! (Another portal appears) Riku: There's the exit. Thanks again. I'll see you on the other side! Sora: That's a promise! (Sora races through the exit and finds himself in a room with pipes lining the walls) Sora: Whew, made it out. Hey! Is that... (He rushes forward to find Maleficent) Maleficent: You should have stayed inside, boy. There, the worst fate to befall you would have been eternal slumber. Sora: Maleficent! You did that? Yeesh. When are you gonna quit? Maleficent: Oh, I've only just begun. Such a shame you understand so little of the darkness. The world desires its embrace! Sora: Yeah, right. Maleficent: There is nothing in darkness. No sadness, no cause for hurt... In darkness, one cannot see ones mistakes, or the dreams that failed to be. Sora: And they'll never know happiness, either, or what it is to have fun! You can't force the darkness on a world that never asked for it. That's just giving yourself what YOU want! Maleficent: And what is wrong with that? After all, the Mistress of All Evil has the right and the POWER to see it done! Sora: If you won't listen to reason, I'll have to stop you by force. Maleficent: At last, we agree. I shall put a stop to your meddling here and now! (Flames of green erupt from her body as she waves her staff. She melts into the fire and her body changes into the form of a great black dragon. Sora fights her and the dragon falls) Sora: You can't have this world! Maleficent: All worlds are mine, boy! One day you shall see... (Sora returns to Hollow Bastion) Goofy: Sora! He's back, fellas! Donald: 'Bout time! Goofy was worried. Mickey: Welcome back, Sora. I sure am glad you're not hurt. Sora: Mickey! Guys! You'd never believe the stuff I saw. Mickey: Well, good news: you did it! The last of the bugs has been wiped from the datascape. I can't thank you enough. Sora: Always happy to help. (He looks around) Sora: Hey! Where's Riku? Is he okay!? (Riku joins them) Riku: Fine. Sorry to put you through all that. Sora: There you are! Riku: Looks like we managed to keep that promise. Sora: 'Course! Riku: I wish we had time to sit around and chat, but Mickey and the others need to hurry. This way, guys. (Riku opens a gateway) Riku: As promised, here's your road home to the real world. Mickey: Then this is it... Time to say good-bye to the datascape. Jiminy: Truth be told, I'm sad to go. It sure was something to explore the inside of my journal! Sora: Well, you can come back any time! Goofy: Yep! Hey, next time, let's bring the whole gang! Donald: That sounds like fun! Riku: Actually...there's something important I haven't told you. Now that... Well, it's just... You know what? I shouldn't keep you any longer. I can tell you after you've made it through. Mickey: Well...all right. Thanks for all your help! You two take care, now. Sora: We'll see you soon! (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy enter the gateway) Mickey: Did it work? (They see Chip and Dale in the Library) Dale: Yahoo! They're back! Chip: Welcome home, everybody! Donald: Chip and Dale are here... Goofy: And that means-- Jiminy: We made it! Our real castle in the real world. Home at last! (Riku appears on the computer monitor) Riku: Looks like it worked. Can you all hear me? Mickey: Clear as a bell, Riku! Boy, what would we do without you guys? Riku: Yeah, about that... Me and Sora here can't help you guys anymore. Donald: Huh? Whaddaya mean? Riku: With the bugs gone, the journal will revert to its original state. That much isn't news, right? Jiminy: Right. It should return to the way it was when I wrote it. Riku: Well, that's the thing... Sora and me will also be reset. We won't remember any of this. After all, there's no mention in the journal of the fight to repair the bugs. Goofy: Wait... Ya mean you'll forget about all this time we were together? Even the stuff we're talkin' about right now? Riku: We're data. That's the way it goes. Goofy (sadly): But that's not fair! Sora: Mickey, still there? Mickey: Sora? Sora: Riku explained this to me ahead of time. We should be celebrating! This is how our world is supposed to be. Donald: Yeah, but still. Jiminy: You went through so much to help us! Taking all that away just isn't right! Sora: You're a good friend, Jiminy. Don't worry. You won't get rid of us that easily. We might lose some memories, but we've still got you guys. And whatever part of us doesn't stay in the journal will always stay inside you, right? The words may be gone, but never the memories. You can hang on to them for us. Just keep us in your hearts, and we'll be there when you need us most. Goofy: Oh, Sora... Sora: Well, we should sign off here. Good-bye. Give the "us" out there our best! (An alarm sounds from the computer) Donald: Wh-what's that!? (A message appears on the computer screen: "Data recovery... 100%. Data assembly complete. Glitch found in darkness. Awakening dark glitch. Delete Datascape YES/NO? Y__ YE_ YES In the data Hollow Bastion, the world starts to shake) Riku: Do you feel that? It's a bug! No, it's...it's controlling the bugs. Making them go crazy! Goofy: Bugs!? But I thought we got rid of all those! Riku: I don't know. Maybe we missed some? Donald: What are we gonna do? Riku: It said it was going to delete the datascape. We can't let something this big get loose. Lock the journal data! Hurry! Mickey: But...if we do, we'll lose you and Sora, AND what was in the journal! Jiminy: Ah! Oh, dear, I just remembered! Maleficent and Pete are still inside! They'll be deleted, too! Mickey: Evil or not, we can't let that happen! Riku: Then locking the data isn't an option? The real world is at stake! Sora: Hang tight, guys! Just give me a little time! (Sora runs off) Riku: Wait, Sora! Where are you going? Sora! (Sora approaches the Dark Depths) Riku: Sora, are you crazy? Sora: We can't just leave them! You heard Mickey. I'm going to find them! Riku: Find them where!? Do you have any idea where they are? Sora: Somewhere! Riku: Aren't you afraid? We're not just talking about losing some memories here. We could get erased. This whole world could get erased! Sora: Sure I'm afraid. Weren't you? Riku: Hm? Sora: You've been in my shoes. You've gone up against the impossible alone. Because you knew that was less scary than just sitting around and waiting for the end. I don't know if we can win--but I know I've gotta try. (He runs into the Dark Depths and finds himself in a blue room similar to a system sector, data lining the walls. The floor is cracked and jagged) Sora: The datascape is starting to disappear! I've gotta find those two fast. (He looks around, pointing) Sora: Eenie meenie miney... This way! (He runs toward a light, defeating Heartless along the way, until he hears a voice) ?????????: Long have the fallen wandered. Sora: Huh? ?????????: Now they shall serve the will of darkness. Sora: Who said that!? And why does this feel so familiar? (Sora runs to the end of the tunnel. Pete and Maleficent face a large Darkside Heartless with red marking on its body) Pete: Uhh, Maleficent? We don't seem to be makin' much progress here... Maleficent: Hmph! Any less of an opponent would be an insult. (Sora enters in a data cloud) Sora: This is the thing I fought on the island...isn't it? I thought it got swept into the darkness along with everything else... (He turns to see Pete and the witch) Sora: Maleficent! Pete! You two need to get out of here! Maleficent: I do not take orders from you! Pete: Uh...I vote we listen to the pipsqueak. Maleficent: Silence, coward! You will do as I--What!? (The giant Heartless slams a fist down toward them as Maleficent raises her staff. There is a blinding light and in their place is a dark pool where the hand made contact. The lines on the Heartless's body glow and it surges with energy, data streaming all around it) Sora: Pete! Maleficent! This thing is unbelievable... No way this is the same Heartless I fought before! ?????????: Rage... Hatred... And now, glitches to feed my darkness. Sora: It feeds on the glitches? Riku: Wait...that's it! You're not the only one who evolved within the datascape! Sora: Riku, you wanna fill me in? Riku: I know where the bugs came from. All of them! It's your shadow-- your Heartless! Sora: My Heartless!? Riku: You may not remember it, but you were turned into a Heartless, once. That was written in the journal. But those records vanished along with your memories not long after your first journey. You got your memories back, but the pages of the journal--they stayed blank. Sora: And you think my Heartless is responsible? Riku: It makes sense. Everything in the journal revolved around you. This whole time you've been evolving in the datascape--finding new strength--your Heartless has been absorbing data and doing the same. Sora: But we put all the data back! That weakened it, right? I can still stop it! Riku: No... I should have realized sooner. Normally, defeating Heartless releases hearts which then return to the people who lost them. Defeating Heartless here in the datascape, though--that wouldn't have set any real hearts free. Instead, you released the Heartless's minds. Sora: Their minds? Well, where did those end up? Riku: Right in front of you! Your Heartless has been gathering, then devouring the dark intentions of the fallen Heartless. That's where it gets its power: dark data! And now, just like you, it's become something greater. Sora: If you're right, this thing is way too dangerous to let out into Mickey's world. I have to protect them. And with all the strength they've given me, I can! (Sora's Heartless punches the ground but Sora dodges just in time and gives its fist a few whackings with the Keyblade. The floor lights up and gives Sora just enough time to roll out of the way as three large pillars of ice shoot out of the ground. The Heartless slams his fist down again, releasing a wave of fire and three fireballs. The fireballs hone in on Sora, who blocks and attacks the fist again. The Heartless then sends data in the form of light after Sora, attacking him from below. After a few times of this runaround, the Heartless curls toward the floor and vanishes into data. After a few seconds, a giant fist shoots out of the ground and knocks Sora into the air. After he has a chance to get back up and heal, a white circle appears in the floor and the Heartless bursts out from head to torso almost hitting Sora again. Sora took this opportunity to unleash an attack at the Heartless's chest. It again vanished and appeared next to the platform, seemingly unmoving) Sora: Is it over!? ?????????: Rage... Hatred... Glitches to feed my darkness... And soon, hearts to sate my hunger! Sora: What is it-- It's changing again? No... It's evolving! (Streams of data swirl around Sora's Heartless. A great surge of energy is felt and a powerful wind explodes from the Heartless, causing Sora to shield his eyes. When he opens them again, he sees a black figure in his form. The doppelganger's yellow eyes glow as he readies his own dark Keyblade. Sora's Heartless swirls the Keyblade around himself as he moves toward Sora, who dodges out of the way. The Heartless raises its blade high and sends three glowing data Keyblades that strike Sora in the side. Sora nabs a chance to strike at the Heartless before it starts to float in the air and move around the stage, conjuring more data Keyblades. Sora dodge rolls away when they're sent flying at him, but is struck when the Heartless lunges at him swiftly. Sora strikes the Heartless and heals again once the Heartless stops moving) Sora: Why is it looking at me like that? Wh-what's it about to do? (The Heartless stands up and holds its arms out. To each of its sides appears another dark figure of Sora. Together the three launch an all out assault on Sora, each providing a different method of attack. One Heartless figure floats in the air, sending Keyblades raining down at Sora as another rushes him continuously with physical attacks. Sora tries his best to dodge attacks, but finds it hard to get any of his own hits in without taking a beating himself) Sora: When is this gonna end!? (Eventually, he eliminates the two copies and Sora's Heartless covers himself in a blue orb. He floats high into the air, sending a torrent of Keyblades toward Sora. With each step Sora takes, he can feel each of the Keyblades strike the ground just shy of his position. He runs frantically trying to keep up with them. Then a golden blade strikes the center of the battlefield, catching Sora in its immense wake. Before getting a chance to heal, Sora seizes the opportunity and snatches the golden Keyblade out of the ground. He aims it at the Heartless) Sora: Take this! (A golden light shoots out, creating an orb around Sora's Heartless. Sora sends his Keyblade to the orb, creating swirls of electricity racing around, and it shatters with a flash, with the Heartless having reverted to its Shadow form. Sora attacks it and there is a flash. The giant form of the Heartless reappears, albeit unconscious, blue lightning crawling around its body. Sora takes this chance to strike it in the head before falling back, feeling a bit uneasy. He looks at his Keyblade and it disappears before he collapses to the ground, breathing heavily. The world rumbles and the Heartless grows even larger, readying a crushing blow. Sora hears a voice call out to him) Mickey: You can't give up! (Sora looks up to see Mickey, his Keyblade at the ready, who looks over at him and smiles) Sora: Mickey? What are you doing here? Mickey: Helping my friend. Didn't I tell ya? You never have to face things alone. When the darkness closes in, just look inside--and you'll always find your light! (He raises his Keyblade) Mickey: C'mon! It's time! (Sora stands as the Heartless gathers energy for a punch. Sora reveals his Keyblade and Mickey shoots a beam of light at Sora's Heartless, freezing it in place. The Shadow form appears in front of it and Sora moves in for the killing blow. The world flashes and Sora and Mickey reappear in the Grand Hall where Riku stands with...) Sora: Pete! Maleficent! You're all right! Riku: I found them caught in a rift in the data. Maleficent: Hmph! You will hear no words of thanks from me. Our debt is settled. Pete: I was fixin' to get outta here already! So long, chumps. I'm goin' home! Riku: I'll keep an eye on them on their way out. Pete: Next time, youse guys are in for it! (Pete leaves with Riku and Maleficent) Mickey: The data will start returning to normal soon. The way it was before those bugs showed up. (He frowns) Sora: Then I guess this time it's good-bye for real. ...Huh? What gives? This lump in my throat... Is it another glitch? Mickey: No, Sora. That's just what good-byes feel like. Gosh... Our time together brought back a whole flood of memories. The day I set out on my first adventure. The day I made a new friend. It made me realize that the journal isn't just a list of events. It's a collection of everything we felt together--it's our hearts. I promise we'll tell Sora and Riku what happened here. That way, this journey will be one we can share with you. Those memories will always keep our hearts connected. Friends forever, Sora! Sora: Friends forever, Mick--Your Majesty. (Mickey holds out a hand and chuckles, smiling. Sora sighs before nodding. He kneels down and takes Mickey's hand. Mickey turns and enters the gateway behind him. Sora conjures his Keyblade and shoots a beam of light toward the gateway, sealing this datascape. In the real Disney Castle, Donald and Goofy rush over to where Mickey reappears, chatting excitedly while Chip and Dale jump about on the desk. They all look up at the computer monitor and smile, seeing an avatar of Sora and the words "Thanks, guys!". They remain there in thought for a few moments) Goofy: Hey, ya know...we never did figure out that mysterious message. Donald: Ohh... Wak! (The screen on the computer flashes and Riku appears on it from different angles) Riku: Guys, big news. A new world has shown up inside the journal. Goofy: What do you mean? Riku: I've found another door leading to extra data. Somebody must have added it once all the other data was restored. Mickey: And if we explore that world... (Riku nods and the original journal message appears on the screen) Riku: Then we should get some answers about this message. Mickey: Great! Let's ask Sora to-- Donald: Ah. (Mickey looks over at Donald, who's covers his mouth) Goofy: When we fixed the data, everything in the journal went back to the way it started, remember? Jiminy: Which means that Sora's journey through the datascape--it never happened to him. Why, now he's just the same boy he was before he ever met any of us. Riku: I'm fine, my partition isn't affected. But Sora--we can't send him out there when he doesn't know what's going on. (Donald and Goofy sigh, Mickey following) Mickey: ...Wait. Hey, Riku. Could you help me get back into the datascape one more time? (In a dark alley in a small town, Sora awakes to a dog licking his face. (He stops, seeing King Mickey with his Keyblade out) Mickey: Sora, this was the day that your journey began. I know, because I was here, too. (He turns to look at Sora) Mickey: It's time for the truth. Sora: Where am I? How'd I get here? And who are you? Mickey: The name's Mickey. I've come here from another world. Sora: Seriously? Mickey: Ya see, somebody left me and my friends a mysterious message-- "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it." And you're the only one with the power to solve the mystery. Sora: Me? Why me? (The Keyblade flashes into his hand) Sora: Whoa! Mickey: Good. You lost your memory, but not your powers. Will you help me, Sora? I need to know the truth. (The Keyblade vanishes) Sora: Gosh, but this is so weird. I don't even know you... Err, do I? Something about you does seem vaguely... Nah. So this truth you're after, does it have to do with me? Mickey: Honestly, I'm not sure. But whatever it is, I get the sense that it's something you need to know. Sora: Hmm, fair enough... All right, Mickey. Lead the way. Mickey: Thanks, Sora! Now just hold out that Keyblade of yours. (Mickey points his Keyblade and a Keyhole appears. Sora does the same and a beam of light strikes the Keyhole and the world flashes. Sora finds himself in a white room) Sora: So you think the truth's hiding somewhere in here, Mi... Mickey? Guess he went on ahead. (A cloaked figure appears) Sora: Huh!? Who are you? ?????????: Me? I'm nobody. In this place, to find is to lose and to lose is to find. That's the way of things in Castle Oblivion. Sora: Castle Oblivion? ?????????: Yes... Here you will meet people you know. People you miss. (An object appears in front of Sora) Sora: What is this, a card? There's a picture drawn on it. ?????????: Use that card and press on. You will find the truth that sleeps. (The figure disappears) Sora: H-hey! Use it how? Yeesh... That guy sure knew how to get under my skin. (He looks toward the door at the end of the hall) Sora: Well, let's go see what's behind that door. (Sora holds the card up to the door and enters the room beyond) Sora: What happened? (The figure reappears) ?????????: That card you used will cause you to see people. Illusions, who come from Jiminy's journal--the very same data you fixed. Sora: I fixed what? Who's Jiminy? ?????????: Oh, my mistake. Did someone press the reset button on your memory? Just the same, you'll remember the folks you meet here. Sora: That makes zero sense. So I'm going to meet these...illusions, and then... ?????????: Do whatever you want. Sora: Huh? ?????????: There's no script you have to follow. The journal's the closest thing you've got, but that doesn't mean you'll see the things it says. And you know, who really cares? Everything that happens here, everyone you meet is an illusion. Sora: So I can just do...whatever? ?????????: Anything you want. But remember--the things that you find depend on the actions you take. (He starts to disappear) Sora: Hey, come back! ...He's gone. (Sora sees a girl nearby) Sora: Huh? Hey, isn't that... Selphie! What are you doing in a place like this? Selphie: Uh, hello? I practically LIVE on this island. Sora: This..."island"? You mean "castle." Selphie: No, I mean "island," but we can make-believe it's a castle if you want. Sora: I'm not sure I'm the one playing make-believe here... He said everything that happens here is an illusion. I wonder what Selphie sees. Unless...she's an illusion? Selphie: Sora, you are acting so WEIRD today! And where have you been, anyway? Would you look at the island? We're up to our ears in blocks! Sora: Blocks... Didn't I... Nah, can't be. Selphie: This is totally ruining my day. Do me a favor and find out where the blocks came from. Sora: Okay! Selphie: Thanks, and good luck. I expect a thorough investigation! (Sora finds Wakka) Wakka: Hey! Sora! Things are gettin' hairy here, ya? You okay, brudda? Sora: Umm... It's...been an...interesting day? Wakka: That's great. Hey, could you check up on Tidus for me? He went to investigate the blocks. Sora: Sure! Wakka: Thanks, brudda! He can't have gone too far, but you know him. (Wakka wakks--I mean walks off and the cloaked figure appears) ?????????: Don't let your memories rule your actions. Not when there are other possibilites to be found--other stories waiting to unfold. (Sora finds Tidus) Sora: Tidus, you okay? Tidus: Never better! You think a couple of blocks are gonna faze me? Sora: Yeah, about that... What ARE they? Tidus: Well, I might know a thing or two... Sora: Really? Tidus: Don't believe me? Then you asked for it! Sora: Uh-oh, here he goes... Tidus: You wanna know about the clue I found, you'll just have to earn it. (Sora duels Tidus and wins) Tidus: Oof... I keep forgetting how tough you are. Sora: Just don't forget what you promised. Tidus: Okay, so I saw this stranger walking around over there... Don't you think that's a LITTLE suspicious? Sora: Stranger? I wonder who. (Sora sees a hooded stranger and walks up to him, but he disappears) Sora: Huh? He vanished. (Later, another cloaked figure appears) ????????: Well, you did it again, Sora. Sora: Wait...Riku? What are you doing here? Riku: I've got something you need to see. Sora: Oh yeah? Riku: A hidden truth that isn't part of your memories. I want you to see it. And, I want you to feel it. Sora: Well, okay. I know you wouldn't ask if it wasn't important. Riku: Thanks, Sora. Close your eyes. (The scene shifts to a night sky at the top of a clock tower. Riku stands, gazing at the full moon over the city. He reaches a hand out and pretends to grab the moon. He stares for a bit, wind blowing through his hair. He bows his head, putting his hand over his chest. He turns around to stare at the body of a girl with blank eyes who sits, unmoving) Sora: That's you and Kairi. I was on a journey to find you. Riku: Darkness had taken ahold of my heart, and Kairi had lost hers completely. But at the end of your journey, Sora, you would have saved us. Now, what did me and Kairi have in common? When you watched--what did you feel? Sora: Umm... Riku: It was "hurt." We had both lost ourselves, and we were hurting. So what would you have done? Sora: Help you, of course! I would have figured out how to take the hurt away. Riku: I thought you'd say that. And you're right, you would. You will. Sora: Hmm... So what's with the sneak preview? Riku: I just wanted you to see that you always make the right choices. On the road ahead, more than one truth will come to light. You'll forget things, lose things that you care about, and it won't always make sense. It may hurt so bad you'll feel like you're about to lose yourself. But you won't. Not you. You're like a sponge. No matter how much pain they throw at you, you'll suck it up, squeeze it out, and leave things a little better. Just follow your heart, and you can change lives. You don't have to do anything special. Just do what you do. Sora: All right. Riku: Take care, Sora. (The world ripples and Riku vanishes) Sora: Huh? Wh-who was I just talking to? (Sora returns to the white hall) ?????????: Well? Did you have fun hanging with the ghosts? Sora: Hey, don't say "ghosts"! Sure, something was a little off, but they're still my friends. ?????????: You don't say? What were their names again? Sora: Pfft, that's easy. There was-- What... No, no, I know them! Why can't I remember? ?????????: Like I said--everything in this castle is an illusion. Your actions may lead to true endings or paradoxes, and each outcome will stay with you in the form of a card. But once the illusions vanish, you'll forget all about your little reunion as if it never happened. Sora: What? ?????????: Hey, no big deal. The fact that you can't remember them just means they weren't important to you to begin with. Sora: That's a lie! Of course my friends are important to me! Okay, so maybe I forgot who they are...and what happened... But it'll come back to me. Just watch! ?????????: Hmm. If you say so. (More objects appear in front of him) Sora: More cards? Five of them... (He looks at each of them in turn) Sora: This one's got a picture of some streets at night. Haven't I... Hmm. And this one. Is this a garden? No, a maze! Very strange. This one shows some kind of huge arena, like where tough guys fight it out. And here's a desert city. Nice palace. Are these all real places? Ack, I don't like this one. Just looking at this castle makes me feel empty... ?????????: All of these were created from the data in the journal. And all of them will show you more illusions. But from now on, they won't be your friends. You're fresh off the island, which makes them total strangers. Here's a fun little thought. The folks you're about to meet? You can use and abuse them all you like. Sora (shocked): Huh? ?????????: What do you care? They're all strangers, and illusions at that. Just empty bits of data. They can't tell what's real. They'll look at this castle and see the world they call home. Anyway, the truth would be wasted on them. They're only there until they're not. See where I'm going with this? You can break the little hearts they don't have, and forget right away. No hurt feelings, no baggage. You don't have a heart. It's 100% guilt-free. Sora: No, it's not. ?????????: Oh? Sora: I could never be mean to somebody I just met. If I hurt them, I'd regret it. And...even if I didn't remember what I did, the regret would stay with me. That's what you mean by hurt feelings, right? Why would I want to carry around that kind of hurt? ?????????: And with that, you've arrived at the first question. (He disappears) Sora: Huh? ...I really don't get that guy. So...these cards will show me people I don't remember meeting? Hmm... That actually sounds kind of fun. (Sora holds another card up to the door and enters Traverse Town. He sees Cid) Sora: Hello there. Cid: Hnnh? Hey, kid. Haven't seen you 'round before. Mind if I ask ya a little favor out of the blue? Sora: Why? Everything all right? Cid: No! The triplets went off to investigate the blocks, and... Well, they ain't come back. Sora: Triplets... Didn't I... Nah, can't be. I'll, uh, keep an eye out for 'em. What are their names? Cid: Well, there's Huey--he's the feller in red. Dewey wears blue, and Louie's decked out in green. Just tell 'em, "Cid wants ya." Thanks, kid! (Cid leaves and the stranger appears) ?????????: Bring them back in the same order as last time to find a way out. Not that you'd know what I'm talking about. And anyway, there are other possibilities. Nobody's making you do anything. (He exits and Sora searches the room. He finds a group of Heartless in a corner and defeats them) Huey: Boy, am I glad those bad guys are gone! Now I can go back to investigating these blocks. Sora: Hey, Huey, Cid wants ya. You should go back where it's safe. Huey: Aw, but I don't wanna... Oh, all right. (Huey leaves and Sora finds Dewey) Dewey: Uh, yeah? Can I help you? Sora: You must be Dewey. Cid wants ya. Go on, skedaddle. Dewey: But I was so close to figuring out these blocks... (Dewey leaves. Sora rescues Louie from a column of blocks) Louie: Wow, thanks! I thought I'd be stuck in there forever. Sora: Louie, right? Cid wants ya. Louie: Oh no! I was supposed to be back hours ago! (Louie leaves. Sora fights Heartless on the way back to Cid. He sees Cid standing with each of the three ducks) Cid: Hey, kid! I see you tracked 'em all down. Thanks! Huey: We were gonna try and find out more about these blocks-- Dewey: But I guess we can leave that for another day. Louie: Today we'll find something else to investigate! Right, guys? Cid: Why do I even bother? Thanks for everything, stranger! (Sora returns to the white hall) Sora: Hmm, that guy in the black coat wasn't kidding... Ugh, why can't I remember who I met in there? And... Why do I feel so funny?...I know. I miss them. This squeezing in my chest--this must be heartache. But wait. If I really forgot completely, I shouldn't miss anyone. Which means...I DO remember some part of it! The memory is gone, but the feeling's still there! With the right trigger, I'm sure it would all come back. I just gotta keep looking! (Sora enters Wonderland) Sora: Where am I? (He sees Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Queen of Hearts with her Card Soldiers) Sora: Wonder what they're all up to. (Sora finds the Cheshire Cat) Cheshire Cat: Heh heh. Peekaboo. I seem to have lost one of my findings. (He shows Sora 5 blocks, each with a different letter on it) Cheshire Cat: Choose the block it's hiding in for me and you may or may not be glad you didn't. Here are a few lies you can un-rely on. It's not next to a red block. It's not two blocks away from a block with a star on it. And lastly, it's not next to a very prized block. Your choice, please. (Sora ponders over this and chooses) Cheshire Cat: D? Let's see. (Under the block is an item) Cheshire Cat: Correct! You have found my finding. But now I've lost my losting, so I'll have to find another. (Sora finds Alice) Alice: Oh, whatever am I going to do? Sora: Something wrong? Alice: Yes! I can't remember anything--not even my name! Sora: That's awful! And strangely familiar... Have we met? Alice: Oh, I do hope so! Then you can tell me my name. Sora: Your name is... Alice! Alice: Alice... Yes, yes, that's it! Oh, thank you! Now, if only I could remember everything else... (Sora talks to one the Ace of Hearts) Ace of Hearts: Excuse me, but could you bring this to the Ace of Spades? Sora: Huh? Why me? Ace of Hearts: Well, I can't just abandon my post! Now, be careful not to lose this on the way. (He gives Sora a Potion and Sora gives it to the Ace of Spades) Ace of Spades: Oh, you brought that for me? Thanks! Guard duty can really wear a card down. Here's a little something in return. (He gives Sora some food) Card Soldier: Sorry to jump in like this, but could I have a bite of that? Sora: Wow, you don't look so good. Here. Take it all. Card Soldier: Really!? (Sora gives the food to him) Card Soldier: Wow, thanks! What a guy! Sora: Hey, just glad I could make everybody happy. (Sora speaks to the White Rabbit) White Rabbit: Oh my fur and whiskers! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late! I'd better hurry, or it's off with my head! (He walks away) Sora: Hey, wait! You dropped something! Great, now what? Do I bring it back to him? Or should I just tell him where it is? (Sora decides to pick up the watch and looks around) Sora: Huh? Where'd that rabbit go? Great... Queen of Hearts: You there! Come over here at once! Sora (walking toward her): What's this about? Queen of Hearts: I've been watching you VERY closely. You're the thief who stole my memory! Sora: What? That's ridiculous. Queen of Hearts: You won't pull the wool over MY eyes! I have evidence! You tried to steal that watch! Tsk, tsk... Hmph. I'd list more examples, if you weren't guilty of being so...so half-guilty! Sora: I didn't steal your memory! Queen of Hearts: But all the same, you ARE guilty of something! Guards! Sora: What? This is crazy! Queen of Hearts: Off with his head! Sora: Nooo! (Sora leaves the room as fast as possible) ?????????: So, how was your time with--I'm sorry, who was it again? Sora: You know full well I can't remember. ?????????: Heh. You seem pretty calm. Guess you decided they weren't worth stressing over. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Sora: Wrong. I forgot them, like you said, but I can still feel them. I feel a lot of things. Frustrated... Lonely... You said there would be no hurt feelings. But I am hurting. (The stranger says nothing) Sora: But... That's a good thing, right? Each time the memories slip away, they leave a hole. They leave hurt. But that hurt is the key to getting the memories back. ?????????: ...Right on schedule. (The figure disappears. Sora enters Olympus Coliseum. Hades appears in a puff of smoke) Hades: Heh heh! Who made a Gordian knot outta the Coliseum? Hades, you are one lucky god. Doesn't matter how it happened--this labyrinth is gonna help me trap Wonder Face once and for all! All right, time to go get this kettle cookin'. (He disappears) Sora: He's up to something. Should I try to stop him? (Sora sees Hercules) Sora: Hi there! Hercules: Oh, hello. New around here? Sora: Um, sort of. Hey, could you help me out? It's just... (Sora explains it all) Hercules: What? Hades is up to no good again? Sora: Yeah, something about a labyrinth. We can't let him get away with it! Hercules: Well, don't you worry. I'll go put a stop to him. Sora: What? But I wanna help! Hercules: No, I can't put you in danger. That wouldn't be very hero-like! Sora: (I gotta convince him to let me help.) I know. Why don't you test me? Hercules: Test you? Sora: Yeah, if I can prove to you I can handle a little trouble, will you let me tag along? Hercules: Well...that sounds reasonable enough... C'mon. I'll take you to where I train. If you want to go the distance, you'll need power, speed, and technique. This next challenge will test all three. How many opponents can you defeat before time runs out? (Sora defeats as many Heartless as possible in the time limit) Hercules: Well, that's good enough. With a little work, you might have a future as a hero. Okay, you pass. Let's put a stop to Hades together! Sora: Right, thanks! (Sora sees Cloud) Sora: Hey, do you think you could help us? Cloud: Why should I? Sora: Huh? But...wh... Yeesh. Hey...wait. Are you scared? Cloud: Me? Yeah, right. Sora: It's okay. I'm sorry I asked. (He starts to leave) Cloud: Hold on. I'll help you...IF you pass a little test. Sora: What test? Cloud: A test to see if you're worth my time, how's that? Sora: All right. You're on! Cloud: Let's see you take out all these enemies before time runs out. (Sora defeats as many Heartless as possible in the time limit) Cloud: Good. Now, watch the next enemies closely, and take out ONLY the one that tries to attack you. (Sora does so) Cloud: That's the one. Sora: How'd I do? Cloud: Predictably. There's hope. Well, I can tell your heart's in the right place. Sora: Then you'll help? Cloud: Yeah. I'll help. Sora: Yes! Thank you! (Sora sees Hades) Hades: Here to foil my plans, pipsqueak? Sora: Pretty much. I knew you were out to make trouble! Hades: I was out to rule the cosmos...okay? But what do you care. Once I'm done Styxing it to ya, you'll wish you stayed out of this. Get 'im! (Hades disappears and Sora fights a wave of Heartless) Hercules: Ya did good. Cloud: You don't have much power...but you've got potential. Sora: Thanks! So does that mean I get to be a hero n-- (The world shifts and Cloud and Hercules disappear) Sora: Huh? What am I grinning about? (He returns to the white hall) ?????????: The sadness of knowing you forgot someone who matters--that'll gnaw at you forever. And you believe carrying around that kind of hurt will bring back the memories you lost? Really, Sora? Sora: That's the theory. (The stranger laughs) Sora: What's so funny? ?????????: I just can't believe you fell for it so easily. Sora: Fell for what? ?????????: I told you when you arrived. In this place, to find is to lose and to lose is to find. Well, you've lost your memories and found hurt in return. And by deciding that hurt was the key to remembering, you gave up all hope of ever being free from it! Don't you see? The hurt owns you now, Sora. It's a wound that will never mend. That hole in your heart will grow bigger, and bigger, until darkness finally claims it! Sora: So this was all some trick to drag me into the darkness? ?????????: Afraid so. And all it took was a handful of illusions. Your heart was just way too easy to break. Sora: Yeah, we'll see who breaks first! (The figure disappears and Sora enters Agrabah) Sora: What's this place? ????: Heh heh! Finders keepers, princess! (Sora sees a parrot fly toward him) Jasmine: Stop at once! Someone please--catch him! (Aladdin enters) Aladdin: What's wrong!? Jasmine: Iago has stolen something from me. Aladdin: That's terrible! You give back whatever you took! Iago: Nya ha! Make me, chumps! (He flies off and the world rumbles) Sora: Wh-whoa!? (Blocks appear all over the room) Sora: Blocks! I've gotta help everybody! (Sora destroys some blocks while chasing after Iago, unleashing a phantom of Jafar) Jafar: Your time is running short, street rat! (Sora runs from Jafar and finds Iago) Iago: Ack! Smell ya later! (He flies off again. Not too long after, he catches the bird) Iago: Aww, ya got me! (Sora meets up with Aladdin and Jasmine) Jasmine: Oh, so you stopped Iago! Thank you. Aladdin: Yeah, you did pretty good. Thanks! (Sora returns to the white hall) ?????????: It's not too late to run. Sora: What? ?????????: You can still be free of the hurt. Just tell yourself you forgot them because they don't really matter. You'll have no one to miss. No cause for loneliness. No hurt to keep eating away at your heart. It's your call, Sora. Cling to the memories you've lost and the hurt they bring until it drags you into the darkness. Or...you could just let it all go. Be free. Be happy! Think it over. (The figure disappears) Sora: Wait! (Sora thinks) Sora: Hmm... (He looks toward the door) Sora: Do I really want to use another one of these cards? It's just going to bring more hurt. And if he's right, the darkness will eventually take over. But I don't see any other way out of this place... All I've got are the cards. Unless...maybe the way out is to let go of the hurt. If it's that easy. Maybe I should try. Instead of carrying the hurt around until it consumes me... Ugh, I dunno. Mickey: ...ora? Sora! Can you hear me? Sora: Who's... M...Mickey? Is that you? Where are you? Mickey: Sorry, I'm still trying to get to your position. Sending my voice is all I can manage for now. Sora: That's okay. Hey, Mickey? I've got a problem here. I keep forgetting people in this place. And this guy in black-- He says if I dwell on what I've lost, the hurt will take over. Mickey: Hmm... I see. So, will you let go of the people you've forgotten? (Sora sees an image of Donald and Goofy) Sora: Who are these guys? Mickey: You may not remember them, but they think of you as a friend. Donald: Wak! We've been on a ton of adventures together! Goofy: A-hyuck! And even if you don't know who we are, Sora will always be extra special to us. Sora: But...wait, how does that work? Mickey: Ask your heart. What are you feeling right now? Sora: I feel... Well, I can't remember who they are. I don't think we've ever met. But I feel like...we belong together. Mickey: Memories can disappear, but feelings don't--not even when your data was reset. Somewhere inside your heart, the adventures you shared with them in the datascape live on. And ya know what? So do all the folks those cards showed you. Sora: Then...it's not what's missing that makes me hurt. It's not a hole. It's because of all the stuff that IS in there. And-- (The image of Donald and Goofy fades) Sora: Huh? Mickey: Uh-oh! Looks like I've used up a little too much of my power. I'll be there soon, Sora--I promise. Just hang on! Sora: Mickey!? (He hears nothing) Sora: Aaand...now I'm all alone again. More hurt. Will this really pull me into the darkness if I let it? I'll just have to keep going now. One card left... (Sora enters Hollow Bastion. He finds Pete who laughs at him) Pete: You're a real piece of works, waltzin' in here when you can't do nothin'! Sora: I can do enough to wipe that smug look off your face! Pete: Oh, I'm shakin' in my boots. (He disappears in a data cloud) Sora: Get back here! (Sora searches through rooms before finding Pete at the top of a staircase) Pete: Hmph! Come and get me! (Sora fights Pete) Sora: Gotcha! That wasn't all that hard. Pete: Hmph! I'll hand it to ya... You are one big pain in my posteriority! Well, let's see how you likes my Ultra Top Secret Backup Plan. Oh, Maleficent! You seein' this? Better get here right away! (Maleficent appears beside him) Maleficent: You'll take no such tone with me. (She notices Sora) Maleficent: What? It's that meddling child! Sora: Okay, what are you two scheming about? Maleficent: When all worlds are mantled in darkness, then you shall know! Sora: Like I'll wait around for that to happen. Maleficent: Ha! You will not interfere this time! (She raises her staff and Sora is sucked into a portal. Pete and Maleficent leave the scene. Sora finds himself in a long hallway with a series of platforms. Pete and Maleficent stand at the end of it) Sora: Another room? Maleficent: Such a shame, boy. You were never a match for my power! But I leave nothing to chance. This spell ought to hold you! Sora: What!? (Sora races across the room, dodging Heartless and using a series of switches) Pete: None too shabby there, kid. Maleficent: But not nearly fast enough. Only a fool would waste so much time. Toy with me like this again, and I will destroy you! (Sora returns to the white hall) ?????????: You've used the last of the cards. I'd ask if you enjoyed the trip, but we both know you've forgotten. Bet you feel pretty empty. Sora: Anything but. I don't remember who I met, but I remember meeting them. And now that I've forgotten...I miss them. ?????????: And so you hurt. Well, let's hope you didn't forget my warning. That hurt will drag you into the darkness. You have to cut it loose. Sora: ...No. The hurt is what reminds me I've forgotten. It's proof there's something there, something...important. I won't run from it. It'll stay in my heart until the day I remember again. ?????????: You'll be lost in the darkness long before then. Sora: But if I put aside the hurt, I'll lose my only ties to people that I cared about. No. My mind's made up. I want to carry this hurt with me. I can be free of it the day I remember, but until then, it's what holds together the pieces I left behind...and I accept it. ?????????: You...accept it? Heh! Don't make me laugh! It's time you learned what real hurt feels like! (The hooded figure conjures a white Keyblade in his left hand and black Keyblade in his right. He crosses them in front of him and slashes at Sora. Sora dodges back and blocks another blow. The mysterious enemy engages in battle using beams of light, knocking Sora into the air. Sora is immobilized while the figure strikes at him. He eventually regains his strength after falling to the ground and manages to heal. The figure dashes at him with his blades in the shape of an X, but Sora counters with a successful block before spinning his Keyblade at the man) ?????????: Nice try! (The figure floats into the air unleashing a series of blue pillars of light in all directions) ?????????: You're finished! (The pillars grow wider, catching Sora offguard and the man knocks him into the air again. Feeling dazed, Sora falls to the ground. The man conjures more light around him and dashes toward Sora, sending the pillars straight for him. Sora dodges out of the way and heals. After exchanging a few more blows, Sora manages to defeat him) ?????????: Come on, Sora. Do it! Finish me off. (Sora says nothing) ?????????: What are you--Ah! Hmm. I guess you've seen through the last illusion. ...Me. I'm data, just like the rest. Not even worth the effort, right? No point in destroying what never really existed... Heh. Sora: For an illusion, you pack a punch! You weren't kidding about showing me some real hurt. (The figure says nothing) Sora: But the hurt I just felt is more than bumps and bruises... While we were fighting, I could feel the hurt in you. Sharp, intense pain... But familiar, somehow--almost like it was my own. It felt like we'd connected--like we share the same hurt. If it brings me closer to people like that, then...a little hurt can't be all that bad. (Sora grins) ?????????: "Can't be all that bad"? Heh, I give up. Here. (He gives Sora a final card) ?????????: You pass, Sora. You understand hurt. Now, use this to find the truth. Sora: What do you mean, "pass"? ?????????: My role was to see if you were ready to take ownership of the hurt inside you. And now that role is done. Nothing left for me to do but... go away. Sora: Go home? ?????????: I don't know if I have one, but...there's a place I'd like to be. Sora: Where? (The figure moves forward into Sora) Sora: Huh? What's this feeling? Memories, but...not mine. I see a place. A sunset. Comforting...but also sad. This is where I spent my first...and my last... (Sora sees an image of a boy with blond hair) Roxas: ...summer vacation. (Sora holds a hand over his heart) Sora: Rest easy... Your hurt can be mine now. ??????: Sora! (Mickey enters) Sora: Mickey! Mickey: I finally caught up to ya! Sorry I'm late. I didn't meant for you to do all the work. Sora: Don't even worry about it. Here, check this out! (He shows him the next card) Sora: This card is supposed to lead to the truth. Mickey: Hmm... Then maybe we'll finally find out where that mysterious message came from. Sora: Let's find out--together! (They enter the next room using the card. The room is brighter, containing a large pod in the center. They see a girl in a white dress standing in front of it as if waiting for them) Sora: Who are you? It's like when I met Mickey... Do I...know you? Naminé: Nice to meet you. My name is Naminé. You don't know me, but I know you. Sora: Um...I don't really follow. Mickey: I'll explain. At one point, you lost all of your memories, Sora. Naminé here is the person who saved you. Sora: Wow, then I owe you a lot! Naminé (sadly): No, you really don't. It's true I put your scattered memories back together, but I'm also the one who took them apart in the first place. Not only that, the bugs that appeared in Jiminy's journal-- those were my fault, too. Mickey: What do you mean? Naminé: It all began with these memories that were sleeping way down deep in Sora's heart. (An orb appears in front of them) Sora: These are my memories? Naminé: No. Not yours. These belong to people connected to you. Sora: What? Isn't it weird for somebody else's memories to be inside me? Naminé: Right, it's not usually possible. When I first found them while repairing your memory, I thought I'd made a mistake. But all the evidence I found proved they belong in your heart, where they've been sleeping a long...long time. One day, Sora will have to call them to the surface. They're important memories...but very dangerous ones. Mickey: Dangerous how? Naminé: These memories are too painful. Handled the wrong way, they could damage Sora's heart--even break it. I needed you to find a way to face that kind of hurt. That's why I left the message. Mickey: "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it." That was you? Naminé: When I unraveled Sora and the others' memories, you remember it also erased the words from Jiminy's journal? Well, that shows how deeply the journal and Sora are connected. When I took Sora's memories apart, they stayed in his heart--and in the journal even after the text was gone. That's why you were able to render them as data. Mickey: But the data was a mess because of all the bugs. Jiminy never wrote any of that stuff down. Naminé: No...that was me. When I added these memories to the journal, I added "hurt." I thought that...maybe if you fought the bugs that sprung from these memories, you might learn to face the hurt in the memories themselves. Mickey: Gosh, you sure went through a lot of trouble. Naminé: I'm sorry. I wish I could have told you all this in person. But the real me is gone now. Sora: Um...guys? This is all way over my head... Am I dumb? (Naminé giggles) Naminé: Of course not. After all, you did it. You learned how to face the hurt. Sora: I did? Naminé: Some people think pain is something you can just wipe away--and sometimes, maybe, you can. But not all pain can be erased. The only way to deal with it is to accept it head-on. And if the hurt is too great for you to bear it alone--well, then you turn to a friend close to your heart. Sora: Because the hurt will bring us closer together, and make us stronger. Right, let's give it a try! Naminé: Huh? Sora: With the memories you found. I'm ready to accept them, no matter how painful they are. Naminé: Sora... Mickey: Wait! I'll join you. Sora: Okay! Naminé: Thank you. (She motions toward the orb of light) Naminé: Touch this, and the memories locked inside will flow into your hearts. (Sora reaches a hand toward it) Sora: Nngh! Ahh!? Mickey: Stay strong, Sora! (Sora's vision is enveloped by a bright light. Through the light, he can make out the figures of Roxas and a red-haired man) Sora: Who... Mickey: Ah! Naminé: These are hidden truths that Sora has been keeping locked away deep inside him. Remember, these memories aren't his. (Roxas and the man fade, and Sora sees two young girls) Sora: Naminé, that's you! Who's the other girl? She feels so...familiar... and... W-wow, something terrible happened, didn't it? Naminé: These people are waiting for Sora--the only one who can put an end to their hurt. DiZ told me...he hid something inside you during the year you were asleep. I asked him what, and all he would say was that he was "clearing his conscience." Sora must be the key to saving the people you saw-- (The images of Naminé and the other girl vanish) Naminé: ...and the ones you're about to see. (Two boys and a girl appear) Mickey: It can't be! Naminé: Mickey, maybe you know how much they're hurting. These three were keys, too. They were connected to the truth behind the Keyblade. And, they're still connected, Sora, somewhere way down deep inside of you. Sora: Funny, I feel as though...I've met them. Naminé: Yes, two of them, you have met. As for the third...I never realized it, but...you and he share a very special connection. Sora: Yeah... Mickey: Naminé. You said Sora has to call these memories to the surface. Is it time? Naminé (shaking her head): I can't say for sure. But I do know a day will come when they must rise from their sleep. And then, the only one who can save them...will be Sora. Mickey: The bond they all share--that's gonna be the key, right? Don't worry, Naminé. I'll make sure I pass this on to Sora--you know, the one in the outside world! Naminé: Mm, please do. (Sora and Mickey nod, then look toward each other. Sora places his hands behind his head and smiles as Naminé gives a small laugh) Naminé: Well-- Sora: Just a second. Naminé: Huh? Sora: Our promise... Your promise to the me I don't know. You kept it, right? Naminé: I may be gone, but my promises to him are forever. And anyway... I owe this much. For all the...all those people that I hurt. Sora: So what happens to YOU--the one that's right here? Naminé: I'm really just data made to pass along a message. I shouldn't... exist right now in this journal at all. And now, the record of me will disappear. But when you pass my message on to the other Sora, just remember to tell him the things that you've seen...and that you've felt. If you do that, then we'll be at rest--her, and me too. Sora: Along with everybody connected to Sora... Naminé, you got it. (She smiles) Sora: Oh yeah! Naminé: Hm? Sora: I almost forgot. I have a message for you, too. (He smiles) Sora: Thank you. (She nods in understanding and grins happily. She fades into light and is gone. The scene shifts to the message left in the journal) Mickey (narrating): And so ended our journey to connect "those" memories with "these." (The pages turn back to the words "Thank Naminé" and continue until the book closes. Later, King Mickey sits writing a letter with a quill. A clear bottle sits on the desk next to him) Mickey: I wanted to tell you right away...about memories from the past that sleep within you, and... (The scene shifts to Kairi on the Destiny Islands running across the bridge carrying the same glass bottle) Mickey: ...about the pieces that will tie you to your future. (Sora reads the letter that was inside the bottle, while Riku and Kairi look on) Mickey: Sora, Riku, Kairi... The truth behind the Keyblade has found its way through so many people, and now I know that it rests in your hearts. Sora... You are who you are because of those people, but they're hurting, and you're the only one who can end their sadness. They need you. It's possible that all your journeys so far have been preparing you for this great new task that's waiting for you. I should have known there were no coincidences--only links in a much larger chain of events. And now the door to your next journey...is ready to be opened. (Sora looks to the sky. Later, Mickey meets with Yen Sid at the Mysterious Tower) Mickey: Yen Sid... I think we're finally close to figuring out where Ven's heart is. Yen Sid: Is that so? Then that leaves only Terra. Mickey: Right. And we've gotta save all three of 'em. (Yen Sid strokes his beard, thinking) Yen Sid: Hmm... The question is: What does Xehanort intend to do next? Mickey: Xehanort? But his two halves are gone. There was Ansem, who commanded the Heartless, and Xemnas, who commanded the Nobodies. Didn't Sora defeat them both? Yen Sid: Correct, those two met their end. However, therein lies exactly our problem. Their destruction now guarantees the original Xehanort's reconstruction. Mickey: Huh? Yen Sid: Xehanort's heart, once seized by his Heartless half, is now free. And his body, which had become his Nobody, has been vanquished. Both halves will now be returned to the whole. In short...this means Master Xehanort will return. Mickey: And you think...you think that maybe he's gonna try something? Yen Sid: A man like Xehanort will have left many roads open. Mickey: Well, it doesn't matter what he cooks up. Me and Sora, we'll be ready, and Riku, too! Yen Sid: Yes, they are indeed strong. But...not true Keyblade Masters, like you. (He continues to stroke his beard) Yen Sid: Tell me...would a single one of you suffice if what you faced was not a single one of him? (Mickey jumps up and puts his hands on Yen Sid's desk) Mickey (stunned): What? What do you mean? (Yen Sid stands) Yen Sid: Mickey, please summon Sora hither. Riku as well. Mickey: Of course, but...why? Yen Sid: To show us the Mark of Mastery. "Reconnect." KINGDOM HEARTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alternate and Extra Scenarios in Castle Oblivion ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Destiny Islands - Alternate (Sora sees a girl nearby) Sora: Huh? Sora: Can't right now. Selphie: WHAT? I can't believe you're saying no! Well, whatever. Oh! Wakka was looking for you. (Sora finds Wakka) Wakka: Hey! Sora! Things are gettin' hairy here, ya? You okay, brudda? Sora: Umm... It's...been an...interesting day? Wakka: That's great. Hey, could you check up on Tidus for me? He went to investigate the blocks. Sora: I'm kinda busy... Wakka: Aw, c'mon, brudda! I'm beggin' ya. (Selphie enters) Selphie: Bad news! The blocks have got Tidus! Wakka: What!? Quit messin' around, Tidus! (They see Tidus trapped by the blocks) Tidus: Guys!? A little help here? Sora: All right, I'm coming... Hang on! (Sora rescues Tidus from the blocks and he rejoins the group) Tidus: Hmm? Where are we, guys? I had this dream we were transported to another dimension! Wakka: Your head's always in another dimension. Selphie: So what do we do now? We never did get to the bottom of these blocks. Wakka: Guess we'll just have to kinda...walk around them. Sora: Sorry, I should've helped you guys when you asked. Things might've turned out better. Wakka: Well, what's done is done. C'mon, race ya to the beach! Tidus: We can figure it out from there! Sora: Okay! Thanks, gu--Nngh? What's... Destiny Islands - Extra (Sora sees a girl nearby) Sora: Huh? Hey, isn't that... Selphie! What are you doing in a place like this? Selphie: Uh, hello? (Sora finds an item hidden behind a column of blocks. The hooded figure appears again) ?????????: Impressive. (He leaves again. Several Heartless surround Sora) Sora: Huh? What's going on? (Sora defeats the Heartless and finds another item in the corner of the room, prompting the figure's return) ?????????: More impressive still. But...let's see if you really have what it takes to keep up. (He disappears and more Heartless arrive, an even larger group this time. Sora defeats them) Traverse Town - Alternate (Sora sees Cid) Sora: Hello there. Cid: Hnnh? (Huey leaves. Sora rescues Louie from a column of blocks) Louie: Wow, thanks! I thought I'd be stuck in there forever. Sora: Louie, right? Cid wants ya. Louie: Oh no! I was supposed to be back hours ago! (Louie leaves. Sora finds Dewey) Dewey: Uh, yeah? Can I help you? Sora: You must be Dewey. Cid wants ya. Go on, skedaddle. Dewey: But I was so close to figuring out these blocks... (Dewey leaves. Sora fights Heartless on the way back to Cid. He sees Cid standing with Huey and Louie) Cid: Looks like we're one feller short. Sora: Really? But that's weird... Maybe I should've sent them back in a different order... Traverse Town - Extra (Sora sees Cid) Sora: Hello there. Cid: Hnnh? Hey, kid. Haven't seen you 'round before. Mind if I ask ya a little favor out of the blue? Sora: Why? Everything all right? When he gets there, he sees the three ducks standing around) Sora: Huh? Where's Cid? Don't tell me HE got lost? Did he get worried 'cause they came back in the wrong order? Wonderland - Alternate (Sora enters Wonderland) Sora: Where am I? (Sora runs over to the White Rabbit) Sora: Excuse me, I think you might have dropped something. White Rabbit: Well, I haven't the time to un-drop it. I'm late, I'm-- Huh? My watch! I-i-it's gone! Sora (pointing): You left it right back there. White Rabbit: Oh dear! (He scurries off to get it) Queen of Hearts: You there! B...b-but... You haven't done ANYTHING wrong? Aha! Been covering our tracks, have we? Proof that you're up to no good! Guilty! Off with his head! (Sora leaves the room as fast as possible) Wonderland - Extra (Sora enters Wonderland) Sora: Where am I? The Queen of Hearts! Alice: A queen, you say? Why, yes, I believe you're right! I feel more eminent already. Thank you, you've cheered me right up. Great... (Sora talks to one the Ace of Hearts) Ace of Hearts: Excuse me, but could you bring this to the Ace of Spades? Sora: Huh? Why me? Ace of Hearts: Well, I can't just abandon my post! Sora: Wish I could help. Poor guy. (Sora decides to give the Card Soldier the Potion) Card Soldier: You're a life saver! Except...I think I might have just been hungry. What I really needed was some food. Err, sorry... For example... You told Alice a lie. I saw it! You gave away my card soldier's delivery to someone else. You tried to steal that watch! Tsk, tsk... You failed to finish what you started. Faulty character! Why, I've... I've never seen anyone so UTTERLY guilty in my life! You're so guilty that...that you're guilty of making me explain! Sora: She's really digging here, isn't she? Queen of Hearts: Don't tell me you were trying to be NICE? Cheering that girl up by telling her she was important? Giving things away because you thought someone else needed them more? Trying to...to own up to your failures!? Bah! Go on! Off with you! Sora: Not "off with my head"? Queen of Hearts: The punishment must match the crime! See how YOU like having something NICE done to you! Olympus Coliseum - Alternate (Sora sees Hercules) Sora: Hi there! (Sora tries to defeat Heartless in the time limit) Hercules: Not even one? Hmm... Well...uhh... True strength is about more than beating up bad guys. Okay, you pass. Let's put a stop to Hades together! Sora: Right, thanks! (Sora sees Cloud) Sora: Hey, do you think you could help us? Cloud: Why should I? Sora: Huh? But...wh... Yeesh. Hey...wait. Are you scared? Cloud: Me? Yeah, right. Sora: It's okay. I'm sorry I asked. (He starts to leave) Cloud: Hold on. I'll help you...IF you pass a little test. Sora: What test? Cloud: A test to see if you're worth my time, how's that? Sora: All right. You're on! Cloud: Let's see you take out all these enemies before time runs out. (Sora tries to defeat as many Heartless in the time limit) Cloud: Good. Now, watch the next enemies closely, and take out ONLY the one that tries to attack you. (Sora strikes too soon) Cloud: Wrong. Sora: How'd I do? Cloud: (He really took a beating. I don't know...) Sora: Then you'll help? Cloud: Yeah. I'll help. Sora: Yes! Thank you! (Sora sees Hades) Hades: Here to foil my plans, pipsqueak? Sora: Pretty much. I knew you were out to make trouble! Hades: I was out to rule the cosmos...okay? But what do you care. Once I'm done Styxing it to ya, you'll wish you stayed out of this. Get 'im! (Hades disappears and Sora fights a wave of Heartless) Hercules: Well, I know you tried your best...but maybe you should leave this stuff to the pros. Cloud: That's okay, you're young. You've got time to grow. Hercules: I'm sure we'll make a great team then. Sora: Thanks. I won't let you down. (The world shifts and Cloud and Hercules disappear) Sora: Huh? Sora: Then you'll help? Cloud: Yeah. I'll help. Sora: Yes! Thank you! (Sora sees Hades) Hades: Here to foil my plans, pipsqueak? Sora: Pretty much. I knew you were out to make trouble!
