Version 1.0 121230. - Initial version with complete list of all monsters. Version 1.01 130112. - Minor updates including some fixed spelling errors, a new introduction and an updated legal section. Version 1.02 130825. - Minor update. Fixed some small errors including an entry that was listed twice. II. Introduction. Compared to most JRPGs, the bestiary in Magical Starsign can be a pain in the behind to complete. While there are few missable monsters, almost 20% of the enemies can only be found in the Amigo Dungeon, a local multi-player mode that most people will probably never get to play since you have to have access to two systems and two carts. Considering how long it took me to get all the Amigo mode enemies and their drops, you'll also need a friend with unlimited patience unless you want to suffer the ultimate gaming indignity and play with yourself. Aside from the monsters found in the Amigo Dungeon mode, another 10% can only be found by using special statues on Master Macademus. You'll get one during the story while the rest are found by tagging with other players or in Amigo-exclusive chests. Completing the bestiary took me around 70 hours total, so hopefully this guide will help those who want to find that last elusive monster or drop. The bestiary is complete once you have fought and defeated every monster and gotten every drop. A monster will have a star in front of its name in the bestiary once you have beaten it and gotten its drop. III. Bestiary Enemies 1-178 are regular enemies, sorted by elemental alignment first and level second. 179-224 are the regular bosses, listed in chronological order. 225-228 are bosses from the optional Glissini Cave dungeon while 229-254 are monsters found in figurines. 255 is Macadameus, the closest thing to a "super boss" that you'll find in the game. Every entry is listed in the following format: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Number in the bestiary. Name of monster. Type: The elemental alignment of the monster. Level: I don't have to explain this one. HP: Amount of HP. Bira: How much money you'll recieve for killing it. Experience: The amount of experience you earn if you are at the same level as the monster. If you are at a higher level, you'll recieve less experience and vice-versa. Habitat: Where you'll find the monster. Drops: Item dropped, if any. Description: The in-game description of the monster. Notes: My own notes on the monster including if it's missable, how to find it and, since I can't resist it, some random trivia. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Chippermunk Type: Fire Level: 7 HP: 400 Bira: 5 Experience: 0 Habitat: Will-o'-Wisp Academy (Amigo Mode) Drops: Crimson frog Description: The adorable Chippermunk uses its cute looks as a weapon. It's a common enemy in the Will-o'-Wisp Academy dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 2. Sniffles Type: Fire Level: 8 HP: 240 Bira: 25 Experience: 12 Habitat: Great Dragon Road, Tangerine Beach Drops: Ice cube Description: Its actual name is long and difficult to pronounce, so everyone just calls it "Sniffles" for short. Instead of fire, it sneezes a disgusting gob of green guck. Notes: When you first encounter Sniffles in the Great Dragon Road dungeon, they are frozen into ice chunks (entry 108). Later in the dungeon, they will appear in groups with several Ice Chunks and a Hearty Dog (entry 129). The Hearty Dog will thaw the ice on its first turn, thus turning the Ice Chunk into a Sniffles. Later, they can be found on Tangerine Beach after you've thawed Cassia. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 3. Merlechaun Type: Fire Level: 14 HP: 620 Bira: 30 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Violet frog Description: Born of fire, these flame sprites feel compelled to hang out in the frigid cold. Many suspect this is just to show everyone exactly how crazy they are. Notes: Only found in the Amigo Mode. It's a somewhat common enemy in the Carbonara Jungle dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 4. Atomic Firebat Type: Fire Level: 16 HP: 250 Bira: 80 Experience: 5 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland, World Seam Drops: Bat husk Description: Beware the bite of the Atomic Firebat: it burns hotter than the hottest salsa. Daring chefs try to harvest their glands, with delicious (but often tragic) results. Notes: You'll come to hate this pest during your first visit on Razen. It's very common and capable of causing scorch to one or more characters. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 5. Guyclops Type: Fire Level: 16 HP: 750 Bira: 112 Experience: 8 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland, World Seam Drops: Monster meat Description: This thickheaded giant loves to dance. Its lack of peripheral vision makes this a dangerous prospect. Don't be afraid to share a dance with him! Notes: Like the Atomic Firebat, it's common as dirt on Razen. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 6. Lava Lumpling Type: Fire Level: 18 HP: 650 Bira: 100 Experience: 7 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland, World Seam Drops: Pyramid hat Description: These creatures form when a fireproof seed falls into hot magma. The resulting creature mopes around for a while, wondering if its flower will ever bloom. Notes: A relatively common encounter in the later parts of your first visit on Razen. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 7. Fireclaw Type: Fire Level: 19 HP: 600 Bira: 120 Experience: 8 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland, World Seam Drops: Blaze bomb Description: Nobody knows who crafted the containment unit that allows these fire elementals to leave their molten homes, but whoever it was has a lot of explaining to do. Notes: Fast and annoying, Fireclaw is a common encounter in the World Seam and later parts of the Jalapeno Wasteland. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 8. Gurglegut Type: Fire Level: 19 HP: 600 Bira: 140 Experience: 10 Habitat: World Seam Drops: Bang berry Description: Scientists have yet to figure out what gives the gurglegut dragon such intestinal distress. Until they do, don't approach this creature with any open flames. Notes: A common encounter in the World Seam area. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 9. Ember Jackal Type: Fire Level: 20 HP: 450 Bira: 110 Experience: 9 Habitat: World Seam Drops: Cleats Description: This fiery, two-headed jackal gobbles flames for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For dessert, it indulges on adventurers. If you see one after supper time, RUN! Notes: A common encounter in the World Seam area. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 10. Permalava Type: Fire Level: 20 HP: 400 Bira: 160 Experience: 13 Habitat: World Seam Drops: Flip-flops Description: Permalava spews endless torrents of the most vile curse words in the galaxy. Thankfully, its insults fly so fast and so furiously that no one can understand it. Notes: A repaint of the rare and highly annoying Permafrost, Permalava is both easier to find and less frustrating to beat. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 11. Foul Fly Type: Fire Level: 21 HP: 250 Bira: 95 Experience: 8 Habitat: Shishkebab Cave Drops: Bang berry Description: This monster is notorious for creepily rubbing its hands together as if it is plotting the galaxy's untimely doom. Which it is. Notes: Foul Fly: the Atomic Firebats of the Shishkebab Cave. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 12. Swurly Type: Fire Level: 22 HP: 700 Bira: 140 Experience: 6 Habitat: Shishkebab Cave Drops: Bang berry Description: The blustery Swurly has a low tolerance for irritation. It blows up at the smallest things--literally. It's best to approach this tempestuous terror with a cool head. Notes: Common encounter + drops common junk + gives poor exp for the effort= Use the run command as soon as you have its entry in your bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 13. Mechanibex Type: Fire Level: 22 HP: 420 Bira: 70 Experience: 10 Habitat: Shishkebab Cave Drops: Bang berry Description: This odd mechanical beast uses gummy frogs to stoke its belly- furnace. As it burns through them rather quickly, it's always hungry for more. Notes: Loves to attack your entire party from the back row. Always kill it first when you encounter it in a formation. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 14. Brawliflower Type: Fire Level: 23 HP: 400 Bira: 40 Experience: 3 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns Drops: Sugarstar Description: Beware the Brawliflower: it may look cute and strangely vegetableish, but this garden terror bites back! Notes: A weak and common enemy in the Capsicum Caverns. Often starts battles scorched. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 15. Pigeonator Type: Fire Level: 24 HP: 900 Bira: 120 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Bang berry Description: When this mechanical menace senses a fight, it goes berserk. The effect is somewhat like looking at a boiling kettle of water dancing on the stove top. Notes: Amigo Mode only. A relatively common encounter in the Capsicum dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 16. Stag Lizard Type: Fire Level: 26 HP: 720 Bira: 130 Experience: 5 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns Drops: Critter horn Description: The Stag Lizard's clacking mandibles can pinch through steel like it's butter. Because they can be used in potions, Stag-Lizard mandibles are highly prized items. Notes: Somewhat common in the innermost regions of the Capsicum Caverns, Stag Lizards can later be found as rare encounters in the area just outside the collapsed entrence. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 17. Charred Tree Type: Fire Level: 28 HP: 1000 Bira: 50 Experience: 8 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Burning path) Drops: Sweet meat Description: This sad sapling holds a grudge against the cruel world that let it catch fire. It can't be fought after you have put out the flames. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 18. Rainboar Type: Fire Level: 30 HP: 1200 Bira: 100 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Orange frog Description: The Rainboar's pink pelt may not help it blend into its surroundings, but with that terrible attitude, the Rainboar doesn't really have to. Notes: Amigo Mode only. While many Amigo-exclusive enemies are simple repaints of foes from the regular game, there are a few unique designs like the this purple pest. A relatively common encounter in the Capsicum Caverns dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^B^Y^^S^T^E^A^M^L^I^N^E^R^8^8^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 19. Scorchberry Type: Fire Level: 36 HP: 900 Bira: 85 Experience: 7 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Green frog Description: This dangerously tart creature gushes spicy juices when it pops. While this is a terrible defense mechanism, it's a great way to give a smoothie a little kick. Notes: Commonly thought of as missable, Scorchberry, like the rest of the enemies from the Path of Five Organs dungeon, later appears in the Phunnel Pit area on Nova. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 20. Mossworm Type: Fire Level: 37 HP: 1000 Bira: 110 Experience: 12 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Catdog boots Description: The Mossworm enjoys an exceptionally long life. "Enjoys" might be the wrong word, though, given that it doesn't move much and is covered in a thick moss. If you see a thick plume of steam, stay away! Notes: Amigo Mode only. A common encounter in the Capsicum Caverns dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 22. Sacrificer Type: Fire Level: 48 HP: 840 Bira: 550 Experience: 6 Habitat: Cocoabutter Valley Drops: Monster meat Description: This cruel monster sacrifices its own kind to advance its own evil plots. Even the vilest creatures don't want to be associated with this loathsome beast. Notes: An uncommon enemy found in the later parts of Cocoabutter Valley on Shadra. Two sacrificers will often team up with one requesting back-up and calling a Condemned (entry 72) into battle while the other uses summon offering to sacrifice the Condemned and summon a Requiel (entry 142). Waiting for this to happen can be annoying, but it is the only way to encounter Requiels. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 23. Firebelcher Type: Fire Level: 49 HP: 2300 Bira: 600 Experience: 10 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: Martial fist Description: The Firebelcher is a traditional fire-breathing dragon. Fun fact: the firebelcher is a not-too-distant cousin to the lagoon dragon. Notes: A common enemy in the later parts of the Chromagar Cave. Strangely enough, there's no enemy called "Lagoon Dragon" in the game. However, a Firebelcher is always paired with a Seagulper (entry 125), a water dragon described as "closely related to the Firebelcher". ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 24. Violent Joe Type: Fire Level: 53 HP: 1300 Bira: 560 Experience: 8 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: Red frog Description: This curious beast is strangely proud of its magnificent chin. It was all but wiped out in a battle against the Punkasaurs over whether chins out-cooled mohawks. Notes: A common enemy in the later parts of the Chromagar Cave. According to the bestiary entry, it fought its pallet-swap Punkasaurus (entry 86) to the death despite both having the same chin and mohawk as its repaint. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 25. Ant Noble Type: Fire Level: 61 HP: 2000 Bira: 610 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Misty studs Description: Despite the name, these ants are not, in fact, royalty. They rely on their money to pay off lackeys who responded to their call in battle. What's noble about that? Notes: Found on the first floor of the Glissina Cave along with Clockwork Goat (entry 74). Not only are they by far the hardest enemies you have fought up until that point, they hit like runnaway trains and love to call for reinforcements. If you haven't paid a visit to the Game Over screen before, the first pack of Ant Nobles will gladly introduce you to it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 26. Crabrador Type: Fire Level: 75 HP: 600 Bira: 1600 Experience: 18 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Nut spread Description: This breed of hermit lab seems to be a shy creature. However, it can show a lot of bravery at almost entirely the wrong times. Notes: Found on the eight floor of the Glissina Caves. Like the rest of the enemies down there, this repaint of the Hermit Lab boss is deadlier than a sack of vipers. Don't let the low HP fool you: it has insanely high magical defence and can be a pain to take down. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 27. Jellybeast Type: Fire Level: 89 HP: 4100 Bira: 890 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Red frog Description: The gluttonous Jellybeast will snack on anything that wanders near its gaping maw. It never brushes its teeth, making its breath just as dangerous as its bite. Notes: Found on the 16th floor of the Glissina Caves. Juniperil Type: Wood Level: 3 HP: 200 Bira: 10 Experience: 0 Habitat: Will-o'-Wisp Academy (Amigo Mode) Drops: Brass frog Description: The Juniperil is a master of the art of caring for diminutive trees. Notes: The first wood monster you'll meet in the game, and also the first to be resistant to one of your spells (Lassi's wind magic does 50% to it). When you encounter Mosslings in the Great Dragon Road dungeon, they are frozen into ice chunks (entry 110). In the later parts of the dungeon, they will appear in groups with several Ice Chunks and a Hearty Dog (entry 129). The Hearty Dog will thaw the ice on its first turn, thus turning the Ice Chunk into a Mossling. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 31. Gold Sneakbug Type: Wood Level: 8 HP: 4 Bira: 0 Experience: 3 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Gold shoes Description: Some monsters have no class. This one spends all day rolling around in piles of money. All it takes is one good hit to knock the spare change out of its pockets. Notes: A rare ancounter in the Quinoa Plains. While the zero bira may seem cheap, the Gold Sneakbug is actually a good source of income. Not only does it drop a pair of expensive gold shoes, it will also drop bira every time you hit it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 32. Spriggan Type: Wood Level: 8 HP: 400 Bira: 5 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Purple frog Description: Notable because of its massive, treelike hair, this spooky tree fairy wanders through the forests, challenging anyone whose hair looks better than its own. Notes: Amigo mode only. A somewhat common enemy in the Carbonara Jungle amigo dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 33. Sneakbug Type: Wood Level: 9 HP: 220 Bira: 55 Experience: 12 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Hiking shoes Description: Anger this aromatic beast, and it will release a stink unlike anything you have ever known...unless you've ever worn the same socks for more than a week. Cuddlemunk Type: Wood Level: 9 HP: 40 Bira: 55 Experience: 11 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Baobab sap Description: This monster is cute! So cute, in fact, that it is impossible to resist giving it a tickle. Once it has lured you in, the coldhearted predator pounces! Notes: A repaint of the Chippermunk (entry 1), this monster is just as cute as the description will have you believe. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 35. Floranha Type: Wood Level: 10 HP: 150 Bira: 40 Experience: 6 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Lucky studs Description: This strange fish developed the ability to swim in air after its natural environment dried up. Notes: Aside from being a fish vulnerable to fire, there's noting remarkable about this common encounter from the later parts of the Carbonara Jungle. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 36. Spiky Nut Type: Wood Level: 11 HP: 180 Bira: 30 Experience: 9 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Baobab sap Description: Just a newborn, this spiky little creature deserves every chance to survive in this cruel world. Fortunately, It's tough enough that it doesn't need much help. Notes: Its decent intelligence and annoying habit of casting Pepperthorn will probably force you to grind a bit before making any real progress in the Carbonara Jungle. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^B^Y^^S^T^E^A^M^L^I^N^E^R^8^8^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 37. Crocobusker Type: Wood Level: 12 HP: 500 Bira: 60 Experience: 10 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Ukulele Description: Some may say it's impossible to rock out with a ukulele, but the Crockobusker laughs at its doubters. It rocks the Ukulele like none hath rocked it before. Notes: An uncommon encounter in the later parts of the Carbonara Jungle. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 38. Elder Beetle Type: Wood Level: 12 HP: 250 Bira: 90 Experience: 12 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Baobab sap Description: The Elder Beetle wears its magnificent horn as proudly as a jewel-encrusted tiara. Poor Thing Type: Wood Level: 12 HP: 1400 Bira: 3 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Rusty screw Description: The poor thing has no money and cannot afford to replace its tattered threads. It uses its bombs to stave off the cold of winter. Notes: Only found in the Amigo Mode. It's a rare enemy in the Carbonara Jungle dungeon. With a worthless drop and minimal bira, the Poor Thing lives up to its name. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 40. Swinger Type: Wood Level: 13 HP: 420 Bira: 80 Experience: 11 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Frog shirt Description: This angry simian flings gummy frogs faster than anyone around. Those gummy frogs might look soft, but at those speeds, they pack quite a wallop. Notes: A common enemy in the Carbonara Jungle. If you manage to reflex guard the Swinger's Frog Toss attack, you'll recieve a green gummy frog instead of taking damage. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 41. Goateesaur Type: Wood Level: 13 HP: 500 Bira: 40 Experience: 10 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Baobab sap Description: This monster will dazzle you with its hilarious moves. That is, until you break its horn--then the beast's confidence deflates like a sad balloon. Notes: A common enemy in the Carbonara Jungle. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 42. Stabby Nut Type: Wood Level: 14 HP: 600 Bira: 70 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Striped frog Description: This little monster is wrapped in a nutty, yet strangely delicious, outer shell. It will feebly swat you with a spiky stick, doing little more than annoying you. Notes: Amigo Mode only. A lot of the Amigo Mode exclusives are pallet swaps of other enemies. A lot of these pallet swaps drop frogs of various colors. Stabby Nut is one of them. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 43. Trilobiter Type: Wood Level: 15 HP: 700 Bira: 45 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Yellow ooze Description: The trilobiter is a master of disguise. Sadly, it emits a fruity, citrusy, and yet intensely gut-wrenching stench that completely ruins any attempt at hiding. Notes: Amigo Mode only. There's nothing special about this Sneakbug repaint. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 44. Bwahahaboon Type: Wood Level: 15 HP: 500 Bira: 50 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Nut spread Description: This strange baboon likes nothing more than a good laugh. You could drop a spoon, and it would laugh itself into a coma. It's especially good for one's self-esteem. Notes: A rare encounter in the Carbonara Jungle amigo dungeon. Is rarity and low drop rate will make it a pain to get into your bestiary. As with the Swinger (entry 40), a successful reflex block of its Frog Toss attack will net you a green frog. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 45. Forest Eel Type: Wood Level: 26 HP: 1120 Bira: 130 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Fuchsia frog Description: This obnoxious beast wanders the forest, lecturing others about their scandalous clothes and bad attitudes and how they're too lazy to chase after adventurers. It's also the only notable thing about the Forest Eel. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 46. Woodschrank Type: Wood Level: 26 HP: 1150 Bira: 130 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Lime frog Description: The woodschrank considers itself the guardian of the forest. It gladly skewers anyone who dares to threaten the sanctity of the grove with its sharp wooden lance. Notes: Amigo mode only. Leafwich Type: Wood Level: 32 HP: 1200 Bira: 140 Experience: 10 Habitat: The Holy Tree Drops: Green frog Description: It's a leaf. It's a sandwich. It's both! Notes: MISSABLE DROP. You fight it by examining leaves in the Holy Tree dungeon. Since there are a finite number of leaves, you have only so many opportunities to add the drop to your bestiary. However, even if you screw up during the dungeon, there's one final chance to get the drop. Holy Sapling (entry 205) will summon a Leafwich if you hit it with fire magic, but farming for drops during a tricky boss encounter is not the best idea in the world. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 48. Weed Devil Type: Wood Level: 38 HP: 1800 Bira: 104 Experience: 11 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Grudge ball Description: This garden-variety weed has a terribly bad disposition. Jamari Type: Wood Level: 46 HP: 1400 Bira: 400 Experience: 9 Habitat: Sugarleaf Plains Drops: Holy incense Description: The Jamari smells like a meadow of flowers after a rainy day. Grample Type: Wood Level: 53 HP: 500 Bira: 650 Experience: 7 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: Thorn bangle Description: Behold its magnificent beard! If beards were a source of profound magical power, this beast would be able to warp the fabric of reality itself. Notes: Possibly the most troublesome regular enemy outside of the Glissini Caves. Its solid defence stat and insane magical resistance makes those 500 hp seem like ten times as much. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 52. Fallwich Type: Wood Level: 67 HP: 3200 Bira: 670 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Dethorn tail Description: It is a very sad sandwich made of very sad, wistful leaves. It's more like a tree zombie, and chlorophyll is not what it hungers for. Notes: Found on the seventh and eight floors of the Glissini Caves. Purely a physical attacker, the Treehemoth is a pushover compared to most foes in the dungeon. It will still slaughter your front row though. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 54. Gnocchalien Type: Wood Level: 91 HP: 3500 Bira: 910 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Self circlet Description: The Gnocchalien thrives in moist, earthy places. This might explain why a sapling has started to grow out of its forhead. Some people call it the "head gardener." Notes: Found on the sixteenth and seventeenth floors of the Glissini Caves. High level + high stats = Highly dangerous. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 55. Choker Type: Wind Level: 5 HP: 450 Bira: 15 Experience: 0 Habitat: Will-o'-Wisp Academy (Amigo Mode) Drops: Lemon jam Description: What's cuter than a fuzzy, little kitty? A fuzzy, little kitty riding on a big, fluffy cloud! How precious! Unless, of course, it's trying to destroy you. Which it is. Notes: Amigo mode only. The adorable Choker and its repaints Mistral and Nimbus (entries 66 and 231, respectively) are almost reason enough to put up with the tedious Amigo Mode. It's a uncommon enemy in the Will-o'-Wisp Amigo dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 56. Skylancer Type: Wind Level: 5 HP: 480 Bira: 10 Experience: 0 Habitat: Will-o'-Wisp Academy (Amigo Mode) Drops: Khaki frog Description: Rider and steed move together with the understated grace of a one-man band. Their combination attacks dazzle and damage anyone close enough to see them. Notes: Amigo mode only. Common encounter. Repaint. Drops unique frog. Boring. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 57. Funguroach Type: Wind Level: 7 HP: 250 Bira: 20 Experience: 9 Habitat: Tangerine Beach, Mandarin Beach, Dragon Beach, Great Dragon Road Drops: Ice cube Description: This filthy insect is covered with a slimy mold. Clean freaks are advised to bolt when the Funguroach is around, as it has no conception at all of personal hygiene. Notes: The first wind monster you'll meet in the game. When you encounter Funguroaches in the Great Dragon Road dungeon, they are frozen into ice chunks (entry 109). In the later parts of the dungeon, they will appear in groups with several Ice Chunks and a Hearty Dog (entry 125). The Hearty Dog will thaw the ice on its first turn, thus turning the Ice Chunk into a Funguroach. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 58. Rairbit Type: Wind Level: 8 HP: 150 Bira: 50 Experience: 5 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Sugarstar Description: Much like the increasingly uncommon yeti, the Rairbit makes a great pet and seldom attacks people. Unlike the yeti, however, Rairbits can be housebroken. Notes: A common enemy on the Quinoa Plains. Weak and pointless unless you go to Puffon before Gren, in which case it's decent grinding material immediately after reaching the planet. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 59. Anisoptera Type: Wind Level: 9 HP: 230 Bira: 60 Experience: 8 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Headband Description: Nobody knows how this fossilized dragon-fly can remain airborne when its wings--and indeed, its entire body--are made entirely of stone. Notes: A common enemy on the Quinoa Plains. Found in the same areas as Rairbit (entry 58), it's decent for grinding a level or two early in the game. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 60. Slashback Type: Wind Level: 10 HP: 350 Bira: 85 Experience: 11 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Bronze ring Description: Don't let the rubber ducky fool you. On its squeaky haunches rides a vicious, cold-blooded monster intent on introducing you to its hatchet. Notes: A common enemy on the Quinoa Plains. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 61. Boomeranger Type: Wind Level: 12 HP: 320 Bira: 70 Experience: 11 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Green frog Description: The Boomeranger's face bears the scar of a tragic boomerang accident. Though it is quite spiteful because of the scar, its dedication to its craft remains admirable. Notes: Loves to attack you with its two-hit boomerang attack. Slows your progress quite a bit in the Carbonara Jungle by forcing you to frequently backtrack and heal. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 62. Airpony Type: Wind Level: 12 HP: 650 Bira: 60 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Salmon frog Description: The Airpony is a hunter, first and foremost, riding high in the sky and looking for prey. This makes it into a valuable soldier. Notes: Amigo Mode only. This somewhat uncommon encounter from the Carbonara Jungle dungeon is yet another frog-dropping repaint. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 63. Hybrena Type: Wind Level: 15 HP: 560 Bira: 40 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Choco frog Description: These two monsters are literally joined at the hip! Like all couples, they often want to pursue individual interests. Too bad for them. That's not happening. Notes: Amigo Mode only. This common encounter from the Carbonara Jungle dungeon is about as exciting as the Airpony (entry 62) above. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 64. Happiloon Type: Wind Level: 25 HP: 350 Bira: 150 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Yellow frog Description: This dainty critter catches the wind with its parasol and floats through the air. This pastime can be costly, as it gets a lot of tickets from the Space Police. Notes: Amigo Mode only. A common encounter from the Capsicum Caverns dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 65. Wanderanger Type: Wind Level: 36 HP: 450 Bira: 70 Experience: 5 Habitat: Ships' Graveyard Drops: Green frog Description: This monster is a master boomerang thrower. It's spent its whole life looking for the one that got away. The boomerang, that is. Notes: Found by looking into worm holes in the Ships' Graveyard. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 66. Mistral Type: Wind Level: 36 HP: 400 Bira: 50 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Thunder bomb Description: The cloud part of the Mistral is made of marshmallow, on which the cat secretly feeds. The adorable kitten on its back is, in fact, a horrible parasitic abomination. Notes: Amigo Mode only. A rare encounter from the Capsicum Caverns dungeon, its rarity and low drop rate combined with the sheer size of the dungeon will give you some serious problems with this entry. As a side note, it has what may be the best description in the entire game. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 67. Feather Vane Type: Wind Level: 39 HP: 2000 Bira: 100 Experience: 7 Habitat: Couscous Ruins Drops: Spinel ring Description: The Feather Vane spins in the slightest breeze, leaving it, more often than not, confused and unsure of its surroundings. Notes: If you attack the Feather Vane with a wind spell or physical attack, the weather vane it sits on will spin, leaving it unable to do anything other than wasting a turn to spin it back into position. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 68. Pandemon Type: Wind Level: 39 HP: 1200 Bira: 108 Experience: 8 Habitat: Couscous Ruins Drops: Dark robe Description: The Pandemon spent its life dreaming of being a pop star. When its dreams failed, it went into marketing and lost its soul, spreading evil to its target demographic. Notes: Often travels in packs with Feather Vanes (Entry 67). The Pandemon's dark robe and the Feather Vane's spinel ring are great when you are grinding for bira. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 69. Shyclone Type: Wind Level: 40 HP: 1600 Bira: 140 Experience: 10 Habitat: Couscous Ruins Drops: Grudge ball Description: While the tornado it rides looks quite menacing, it also serves to hide this monster from the world. The poor thing suffers from an incredible shyness. Notes: Common as dirt in the later parts of the Couscous Ruins. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 70. Horus Type: Wind Level: 40 HP: 1500 Bira: 80 Experience: 10 Habitat: Couscous Ruins Drops: Sparrow wings Description: This king of the birds adores his subjects, singing songs and, at times, kissing them. Sometimes, he eats them. His subjects are justifiably paranoid when he comes by. Notes: A common encounter in the outdoor sections of the Couscous Ruins. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 71. Manmoo Rider Type: Wind Level: 42 HP: 2000 Bira: 320 Experience: 9 Habitat: Sugarleaf Plains Drops: Blue frog Description: The Manmoo Rider dreams of finding a legendary bronco and breaking it. Until that time, it is content to ride the plains on the back of this unsettling beast. Notes: A common encounter on the Sugarleaf Plains. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 72. Condemned Type: Wind Level: 49 HP: 1200 Bira: 500 Experience: 9 Habitat: Cocoabutter Valley Drops: Grudge ball Description: Also known as the overreactor, this monster is feared by all for its ability to blow things out of propotions. Watch out! It can make a mountain out of a molehill. Notes: Also know as the favorite food of Requiel (entry 142), this monster is summoned by Sacrificer (entry 22) and promptly sacrificed to summon a Requiel. You can also find it as a random encouter, which is a far easier way to get it into your bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 73. Haroeris Type: Wind Level: 53 HP: 1800 Bira: 200 Experience: 10 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: Heaven boots Description: This strange bird has lips instead of a beak. That alone is disturbing, but to top things off, when it sneezes, it kicks up a terrible and mucousy tornado. Notes: A repaint of the Horus (entry 70). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 74. Clockwork Goat Type: Wind Level: 61 HP: 2500 Bira: 610 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Bang berry Description: Its tail serves as the key to wind up its spring. Because it never truly tires, the Clockwork Goat makes a good watchgoat. But don't forget to wind it up at night! Notes: Part of the set group of monsters you battle on the first floor of the Glissini Caves and also found as a random encounter on the second floor. Its attacks are very stong and target the entire party. Taking out any Clockwork Goats you encounter first should be your number one priority when you brave the dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 75. Gazellebear Type: Wind Level: 76 HP: 3200 Bira: 150 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Puce frog Description: Although the Gazellebear boasts powerful claws that can tear through anything, its hidden shame is that it needs a weekly manicure to keep its claws in good shape. Notes: Amigo Mode only. Other than bosses and figurines, no monster outside of the Glissini Caves boasts a higher level. Since most enemies in the Capsicum Caverns are in the mid-twenties, this juggernaut will be a very unplesant surprise when you first encounter it. Fun trivia: the final boss of the story mode (entry 224) is at level 58. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 76. Short-Fuser Type: Wind Level: 78 HP: 3000 Bira: 780 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Lemon jam Description: If the Short-Fuser gets mad, the tornado it rides swells to mammoth proportions. It's like a cake baking in the oven, except that it's terrifying instead of delicious. Notes: Found on the tenth and eleventh floors of the Glissina Caves. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 77. Whimsy Bolt Type: Wind Level: 82 HP: 3400 Bira: 820 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Misty boots Description: This weather vane goes wherever the wind blows, never showing any interest in the things around it. It can't even be relied on to show the wind direction accurately. Notes: Found on the twelfth floor of the Glissina Caves. Like the Feather Vane (entry 67), if you attack the Whimsy Bolt with a wind spell or physical attack, the weather vane it sits on will spin, leaving the Whimsy Bolt unable to do anything other than wasting a turn to spin it back into position. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 78. Balloonfish Type: Wind Level: 94 HP: 3800 Bira: 940 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Undizzy tail Description: Ages ago, the first Balloonfish swelled up to intimidate an attacking parakeet shark. Its descendants never managed to return to its normal size. Notes: Found on the eighteenth floor of the Glissina Caves. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 79. Dust Punisher Type: Wind Level: 95 HP: 3200 Bira: 950 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Lemon jam Description: The Dust Punisher is on a mission to clean everything in sight, including your clock! Notes: Found on the eighteenth floor of the Glissina Caves. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 80. Mud Jammer Type: Earth Level: 1 HP: 200 Bira: 15 Experience: 5 Habitat: Forgotten Land, Ant Hole Drops: Yellow worm Description: This is a cautionary tale of what can happen when jam goes bad. It loses its sweetness, starts to move, and tries to destroy you. Eat it at you own risk. Notes: The first real enemy you'll fight in story mode. First appears in the worm holes just south of the prison on Erd and later, after the worm holes are gone, as a rare encounter in the Ant Hole. Has an annoyingly low drop rate. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 81. Soldier Ant Type: Earth Level: 3 HP: 50 Bira: 10 Experience: 8 Habitat: Ant Hole Drops: Green frog Description: This brave and loyal ant uses its sword to protect itself and its queen. This is all very admirable, but that doesn't mean you should refrain from squishing it. Notes: A common encounter in the Ant Hole. The Ant Queen (entry 183) is joined in battle by a Soldier Ant and a Magician Ant (entry 82). She will summon more if you kill her escort. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 82. Magician Ant Type: Earth Level: 3 HP: 50 Bira: 10 Experience: 8 Habitat: Ant Hole Drops: Yellow worm Description: This fierce ant uses magic to serve its queen. Because it knows so much about magic, it is largely immune to magical attacks. Notes: A common encounter in the Ant Hole. The Ant Queen (entry 183) is joined in battle by a Magician Ant and a Soldier Ant (entry 81). She will summon more if you kill her escort.Note that the Magician Ants that she summons look a bit different from the ones you fight as random encounters. There's no separate entry for them though. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 83. Meteorn Type: Earth Level: 6 HP: 80 Bira: 25 Experience: 0 Habitat: Will-o'-Wisp Academy (Amigo Mode) Drops: Brown frog Description: These creatures thrive on the many meteors that coast through Baklava. This one must have crashed onto Erd recently. It seems surprisingly fragile. Notes: Amigo Mode only. Seeing that it crashed on Erd, how did it end up on Kovomaka? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 84. Buffalope Type: Earth Level: 10 HP: 250 Bira: 35 Experience: 10 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Silver ring Description: On its own, the Buffalope is fairly weak. However, when many of them join together, they become very powerful. It's a good idea to keep that from happening. Notes: A lone Buffalope will usually use Request Backup to summon another. If there are more than one and a free space in the middle of the row they'll often summon a Sheepdevil (entry 153). Allowing the Buffalopes to do this is the only way to fight a Sheepdevil. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 85. Hoody Thing Type: Earth Level: 15 HP: 320 Bira: 60 Experience: 5 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland Drops: Bang berry Description: The Hoody Thing's hood protects it against dry skin. When it wants a fresh look, it wears its hood at a rakish tilt. It's not the most fashion forward of monsters. Notes: An uncommon encounter in the Jalapeno Wasteland. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 86. Punkasaur Type: Earth Level: 16 HP: 1020 Bira: 20 Experience: 0 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle (Amigo Mode) Drops: Taupe frog Description: Much to the Punkasaur's dismay, its glorious mohawk is thinning. It might be time to update its look to something a little more contemporary, like a mullet. Notes: Amigo Mode only. Apparently has a history of violence with Violent Joe (entry 24). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 86. Cabong Type: Earth Level: 19 HP: 80 Bira: 80 Experience: 10 Habitat: World Seam Drops: Nut spread Description: This monster has two moods: mad and really mad. It has no patience for softies, so don't let it catch you petting a puppy or anything like that. Notes: A common enemy in the World Seam. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 88. Eggkeeper Type: Earth Level: 24 HP: 950 Bira: 87 Experience: 4 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns Drops: Dragon egg Description: Filled with an instinctive need to sit on eggs and a genetic inability to produce them, this creature is a terrible caretaker and wildly irresponsible. Notes: A somewhat common enemy in the parts of the Capsicum Caverns that you won't be able to revisit after the entrance collapses. It can also be found just outside the entrance, but it's a bit less common in this area. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 89. Sarcophaghoul Type: Earth Level: 25 HP: 340 Bira: 10 Experience: 4 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns Drops: Cashwad cloak Description: It's said that this coffin holds the mysteries of the universe. Or a dead guy. No one's really sure. Or it might be full of money. Only one way to find out! Notes: A somewhat rare enemy in the Capsicum Caverns. Vulnerable to physical attacks. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 90. Gobbler Type: Earth Level: 26 HP: 950 Bira: 110 Experience: 0 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns (Amigo Mode) Drops: Magenta frog Description: This monster has a huge mouth, but it's actually quite a picky eater. Just another sign that you can't judge a monster by its gaping maw. Notes: Amigo Mode only. A pallets swap of a regular monster. Drops a rare colored frog. Is far from unique. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 91. Unihorn Type: Earth Level: 28 HP: 1300 Bira: 90 Experience: 10 Habitat: Granule Island Drops: Platinum ring Description: The Unihorn rally loves its horn, and with good reason. By swinging it, it can create strong winds, and by drilling it into the ground, it can shake the earth. Notes: The platinum ring it drops is a good source of income when you first encounter Unihorns. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 92. Monster Chest Type: Earth Level: 29 HP: 120 Bira: 350 Experience: 1 Habitat: Holy Water Pyramid Drops: Rock robe Description: This monster chest may look vicious, but it's actually quite delicate. Handle it with care, or the treasure inside of it will turn to sand. Notes: You must deal between 120 and 140 damage to it if you want it to drop a rock robe. If you do more damage, it will literally turn to sand robbing you of the chance to get a rock robe. Having Sorbet use Hailstorm from the back row or letting Lassi hit it with a physical attack are probably the easiest ways to get the drop. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 93. Bagong Type: Earth Level: 36 HP: 130 Bira: 80 Experience: 10 Habitat: Ships' Graveyard Drops: Green frog Description: This monster is created in earthquakes that shake massive rocks loose from the hillsides. According to studies, another Bagong is born every three seconds on Erd. Notes: Found in worm holes in the Ships' Graveyard. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 94. Smiley Leech Type: Earth Level: 36 HP: 800 Bira: 75 Experience: 10 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Green frog Description: Every battle begins with a kiss, thanks to the smile leech's friendliness and utter lack of personal boundaries. What happens after that is up to you. Notes: Since you can't revisit the Path of Five Organs dungeon, the enemies in it are often and incorrectly assumed to be missable. Fortunately, that's not the case as all the monsters from that dungeon are found in the Phunnel Pit on Nova. For some reason, the Smiley Leech is called "smile leech" in the text in the in-game bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 95. Wood Warrior Type: Earth Level: 36 HP: 920 Bira: 110 Experience: 8 Habitat: Ships' Graveyard Drops: Nut spread Description: The Wood Warrior travels the wilderness seeking powerful opponents to challenge. Its devil-may-care attitude throws of even the most steely of opponents. Notes: Found in worm holes in the Ships' Graveyard. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 96. Pegmafly Type: Earth Level: 36 HP: 180 Bira: 100 Experience: 8 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Bird charm Description: This monster, made of pegmalite ore, moves very stiffly because of the rigid crystals that make up its body. Notes: Since you can't revisit the Path of Five Organs dungeon, the enemies in it are often and incorrectly assumed to be missable. Fortunately, that's not the case as all the monsters from that dungeon are found in the Phunnel Pit on Nova. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^B^Y^^S^T^E^A^M^L^I^N^E^R^8^8^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 97. Clodling Type: Earth Level: 37 HP: 9000 Bira: 800 Experience: 60 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Gold dust Description: Clods live inside the stone giant like huge parasites. When two clods bump into each other, they become one. Eventually, they are expelled from the giant. Notes: When you attack it, it will divide into two Dirtlings (entry 98). The only way to get its description into the bestiary is to kill it in one hit. Unfortunately, the 9000 HP stated above is not a typo. The best way I've found to do this is to move Lassi into the fron row, boost her intelligence and use Pteranodon. Needless to say, it won't happen when you first meet them in the Path of Five Organs. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 98. Dirtling Type: Earth Level: 37 HP: 2000 Bira: 500 Experience: 20 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Gold dust Description: When a Clodling breaks apart, it forms Dirtlings. Science has long wondered how many more times a Dirtling can be divided. Notes: Dirtlings are found by attacking Clodlings (entry 97). If you deal less than 9000 damage to the Clodling, it will split into two Dirtlings. To get the Dirtling's information into the bestiary, you must deal at least 2000 damage to one. If you do less than that, it will split into two Dustlings (entry 99). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 99. Dustling Type: Earth Level: 37 HP: 100 Bira: 80 Experience: 5 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Gold dust Description: Dustlings form when Dirtlings break down. And thus, the cycle of life continues. Notes: If you deal less than 2000 damage to a Dirtling, it will split into two Dustlings. Fortunately, the Dustlings will not split again, no matter how weak your attacks are. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 100. Elder Dragon Type: Earth Level: 38 HP: 1700 Bira: 350 Experience: 10 Habitat: Path of Five Organs, Phunnel Pit Drops: Heavy metal Description: The Elder Dragon has lived inside the stone giant for ages. It devours anything in sight. The sheer monotony of its surroundings turned it into a bored eater. Notes: Like every other enamy from the Path of Five Organs dungeon, the Elder Dragon returns in the Phunnel Pit on Nova. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 101. Boogaclops Type: Earth Level: 50 HP: 2800 Bira: 400 Experience: 5 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: Berry jam Description: This four-armed foe has a face only a mother could love and a chip on its shoulder the size of a moon. But have no fear: its arms are shorter than they look. Notes: A common encounter on the first floor of the Chromagar Cave. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 102. Planetern Type: Earth Level: 52 HP: 1600 Bira: 400 Experience: 8 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: Quake bomb Description: This monster is made from the rubble of many meteors. Legend has it that its beady eyes can see the truth of the universe. Notes: A common encounter on the first floor of the Chromagar Cave. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 103. Faded Stone Type: Earth Level: 63 HP: 1500 Bira: 630 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Stoneoff tail Description: "The secret to making a piecrust that is both flaky and tender is--" Oh, no! The rest of the words have been rubbed off! Now we're doomed to eating leaden pies! Notes: Found on the second and third floors of the Glissini Caves. It's resistant to magic, forcing you to trade blows with it. Not a very healthy idea seeing that you are going up against a laughing tombstone that hits like a frieght train, but it's the only way to beat it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 104. Mad Cashbox Type: Earth Level: 80 HP: 100 Bira: 2000 Experience: 40 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Diamond studs Description: Someone hid this strange treasure chest so well that it remained hidden for thousands of years. Notes: A rare encounter on the eleventh floor of the Glissini Caves. It's not part of any of the set encounters in the cave, making it easy to miss. Just like the Monster Chest (entry 92), it will crumble to dust if you hit it too hard, taking its drop and bestiary entry with it. Despite its low HP, it's far easier to handle than the Monster Chest. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 105. Peewee Type: Earth Level: 81 HP: 6000 Bira: 810 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Ancient mitts Description: The Peewee is attracted to bright light because its eyesight is so terrible. Sometimes, it attacks its own lure filament, much to its own dismay. Notes: Found on the tenth and eleventh floors of the Glissini Caves. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 106. Sand Carrier Type: Earth Level: 84 HP: 3000 Bira: 840 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Gold nugget Description: This robot was programed to carry sand. While this seems like a waste of effort, it sometimes stumbles across a gold nugget of two hidden buried in the sands. Notes: Found on the twelfth and thirteenth floors of the Glissini Caves. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 107. Sand Crab Type: Earth Level: 93 HP: 4500 Bira: 930 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Misty ring Description: Some call it the shark of the desert. If you see its massive claws approaching you in the sand, you would do well to head for safer ground. Notes: Unfortunately, it's found on the seventeenth floor of the Glissini Caves. There's nothing even resembling safe ground that deep into the dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 108. Ice Chunk Type: Water Level: 1 HP: 100 Bira: 5 Experience: 5 Habitat: Great Dragon Road Drops: Ice cube Description: This monster has been frozen into an unmoving chunk of ice. Notes: MISSABLE. Has no moves in battle. In the later parts of the Great Dragon Road dungeon, Ice Chunks will appear alongside a Hearty Dog (entry 129). The Hearty Dog will thaw the ice on its first turn, thus turning the Ice Chunk into a Sniffles (entry 2). Note that there are three different Ice Chunks (entries 108, 109 and 110). Make sure you have all three and their drops before you complete the dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 109. The Hearty Dog will thaw the ice on its first turn, thus turning the Ice Chunk into a Funguroach (entry 57). Note that there are three different Ice Chunks (entries 108, 109 and 110). Make sure you have all three and their drops before you complete the dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 110. The Hearty Dog will thaw the ice on its first turn, thus turning the Ice Chunk into a Mossling (entry 30). Note that there are three different Ice Chunks (entries 108, 109 and 110). Make sure you have all three and their drops before you complete the dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 111. Frozen Coral Type: Water Level: 5 HP: 100 Bira: 20 Experience: 10 Habitat: Tangerine Beach Drops: Green frog Description: What once was beautiful coral became an icy monstrosity when the planet Cassia froze. Notes: MISSABLE. Frozen Coral can't be fought after you have beaten the Great Dragon Road. It's very common though, so it's highly unlikely that you'll actually miss it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^B^Y^^S^T^E^A^M^L^I^N^E^R^8^8^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 112. Squid Mage Type: Water Level: 6 HP: 150 Bira: 20 Experience: 10 Habitat: Great Dragon Road, Mandarin Beach, Dragon Beach, Tangerine Beach Drops: Tentacle Description: Its wiggling limbs captivate anyone who sees them dance. Be careful when you see those tentacles start to move, though, as it's beginning to cast a spell. Notes: A common monster in most parts of Cassia. It doesn't appear on the beaches until you have thawed the planet. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 113. Seapony Type: Water Level: 6 HP: 180 Bira: 5 Experience: 11 Habitat: Great Dragon Road, Mandarin Beach, Dragon Beach, Tangerine Beach Drops: Rainbow shell Description: The Seapony is so obsessed with keeping the water clean that it picks a fight with anybody who looks even remotely unkempt. Naturally, it has very few friends. Notes: A common monster in most parts of Cassia. It doesn't appear on the beaches until you have thawed the planet. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 114. Umbrellon Type: Water Level: 7 HP: 450 Bira: 12 Experience: 0 Habitat: Will-o'-Wisp Academy (Amigo Mode) Drops: Rainbow shell Description: Its trademark parasol gives this creature away. However, we do not recommend taking refuge in its shade, and we hold no responsibility for what happens if you do. Notes: Amigo Mode only. Nightmop Type: Dark Level: 65 HP: 2300 Bira: 650 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Decursy tail Description: The Nightmop executes its dastardly, clandestine cleaning operations under the shroud of inky darkness. Notes: A common encounter on the third and forth floors of the Glissini Caves. It has strong physical attacks, but is a pushover compared to some of the other monsters down there. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 177. Graver Type: Dark Level: 96 HP: 3500 Bira: 960 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Fossil charm Description: The Graver is the spirit of an evildoer who has possessed a whole grave and returned to life. It gets its kicks from freaking out people visiting the cemetery. Notes: A common encounter on the seventeenth floor of the Glissini Caves. Did you think that Faded stone (entry 103) was a pain? Wait until you reach the last few floors of the Glissini Caves and come face-to-stone with its bigger brother. Like most enemies down there, it will kill your party if you make a single mistake. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^' 178. Armagel Type: Dark Level: 98 HP: 4400 Bira: 980 Experience: 5 Habitat: Glissini Caves Drops: Space ring Description: This mysterious enigma has been revived to serve eternally as a soldier. Somehow, he lost the lower half of his body in the process. His only dream? To run again. Notes: Found on the bottom floor of the Glissini Caves. On its own, a single one of these is far more dangerous than most regular bosses including Shadra (entry 224). Unfortunately for you, they travel in groups. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 179. Magic Dummy Type: Fire Level: 1 HP: 160 Bira: 0 Experience: 35 Habitat: Magic Academy Drops: None Description: Magic Dummies live only to be crushed, sliced, soaked, frozen, buried, incinerated, and nailed in the head with roundhouse kicks. Then they go back in the closet. Notes: You beat up Magic Dummies during the tiresome tutorial on Kovomaka. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 180. Ant Lion Type: Earth Level: 2 HP: 650 Bira: 50 Experience: 40 Habitat: Quiet Plateau Drops: Green frog Description: The Ant Lion lurks below the sandy waves, waiting for the pattering of little footsteps before launching out of the ground to feast on its prey. Notes: The first real boss in the game. It looks huge and intimidating, but is a complete puchover. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 181. Sentry Mk 1 Type: Earth Level: 2 HP: 70 Bira: 5 Experience: 5 Habitat: Khave Ruins Drops: None Description: These robots approach you silently, with a coolness that only the mechanical can pull off. Watch out, though: it will surprise you with a lightning-fast rocket punch! Notes: Not sure why these are listed in the boss section. You'll encounter groups of them in the Khave Ruins. Most can be skipped, but since the experience points are are good at such an early point in the game, I recommend that you fight all of them. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 182. Securitron Type: Earth Level: 2 HP: 700 Bira: 30 Experience: 50 Habitat: Gumbo Gaol Drops: Rusty screw Description: Like all super-high tech gadgets, this bleeding-edge security robot is expensive, extremely fragile, and...already outdated. Notes: The first boss to put up any kind of fight. Still not much of a problem though. Has the most useless drop in the game. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 183. Ant Queen Type: Earth Level: 5 HP: 800 Bira: 150 Experience: 70 Habitat: Queen's Chambers Drops: None Description: This ant queen lives underground on Erd. She's selfish and violent on a good day. Catch her on a bad day, and she'll sic her entire army on you without a thought. Notes: A not-too tricky boss who loves to have her minions Magician Ant (entry 82) and Soldier Ant (entry 81) do her dirty work for her. Note that the Magician Ants that she summons are slightly lighter blue than the ones that you fought earlier in the Ant Hole. They don't have a seperate entry though. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 184. Sentry mk 2 Type: Earth Level: 5 HP: 100 Bira: 15 Experience: 5 Habitat: Khave Ruins, Quiet Plateau Drops: None Description: Robots don't care about basic courtesy. These robots will attack you without even so much as a simple "hello." They vary in strength depending on their level. Notes: A souped-up Sentry Mk 1 (entry 181). You'll fight groups of them during the last part of your first visit to Erd. Like its smalller brother (or should that be sister?), its inclusion in the boss section of the bestiary is puzzling at best. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 185. Sentry mk 3 Type: Earth Level: 6 HP: 340 Bira: 30 Experience: 7 Habitat: Khave Ruins Drops: None Description: These callous robots will sneak up to attack you without warning. They vary in strength depending on their levels. Never underestimate a robot! Notes: The strongest in the Sentry series of not-bosses, Mk 3 is still nothing more than minor annoyance. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 186. Securitron 2 Type: Earth Level: 6 HP: 1500 Bira: 40 Experience: 12 Habitat: Khave Ruins Drops: Rusty screw Description: Freshly repaired, patched, and reinstalled, this security robot lusts for sweet, roboty revenge. Notes: It's stronger than the first Securitron (entry 182), but by the time you encounter it during your second wisit to the Khave Ruins, you should have leveled enough to beat it easily. In an extraordinary show of laziness, the game designers didn't even bother to repaint Securitron when they upgraded it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 187. Hermit Lab Type: Water Level: 5 HP: 600 Bira: 500 Experience: 20 Habitat: Lover's Cove Drops: Green frog Description: The Hermit Lab is a simple beast with simple tastes: making mischief, swiping stuff, and scratching. Some say it's a messenger of the Dragon God. Notes: Another weak early-game boss. It can whitdraw into its shell to raise its defences and trick you into wasting MP, but doesn't present much of a challenge. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 188. Pirate Otter Type: Water Level: 6 HP: 480 Bira: 80 Experience: 8 Habitat: Great Dragon Road Drops: Rainbow shell Description: Bored with life in the sticks, these otters have started running amok to amuse themselves. They leave a trail of wedgies in their wake. Notes: Pirate Otters come in six different flavors with six different entries in the bestiary. This version is dressed in red and is a set encounter in the Great Dragon Road dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 189. Pirate Otter Type: Water Level: 6 HP: 450 Bira: 40 Experience: 7 Habitat: Great Dragon Road Drops: Rainbow shell Description: Bored with life in the sticks, these otters have started running amok to amuse themselves. They leave a trail of wedgies in their wake. Notes: Pirate Otters come in six different flavors with six different entries in the bestiary. This version is dressed in blue and is a set encounter in the Great Dragon Road dungeon. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 190. Chard Type: Dark Level: 8 HP: 3200 Bira: 1000 Experience: 60 Habitat: Great Dragon Road Drops: Sage hat Description: The leader of the pirate otters suffers from a superiority complex, which isn't helped by his mastery of dark magic. He fought Miss Madeleine at some point... Notes: You'll fight Chard several times during the adventure. The first encounter is also the hardest, mainly due to the low levels and poor equipment you are stuck with at this point. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 191. Mojo Type: Water Level: 10 HP: 2500 Bira: 600 Experience: 20 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Raggedy leaf Description: The pirates keep this mojo as their own vicious pet. This unstoppable, hideous, slobbering fiend is, in fact, stoppable, as long as you attack it with magic. Notes: Not the hardest boss in the world. If you managed to beat Chard (entry 190), this dachshund-like landshark shouldn't be too much of a problem. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 192. Pirate Otter Type: Water Level: 13 HP: 1400 Bira: 20 Experience: 5 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle, Assam, Nata de Coco Door Drops: Rainbow shell Description: Bored with life in the sticks, these otters have started running amok to amuse themselves. They leave a trail of wedgies in their wake. Notes: Pirate Otters come in six different flavors with six different entries in the bestiary. This version wields a saber and is a set encounter in the later parts of the Carbonara Jungle. You'll also fight it in Assam and later along with Chard (entry 196) by the Nata de Coco door. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 193. Totem Bomb Type: Water Level: 13 HP: 1000 (according to Fondue's Reveal. It doesn't matter during the battle) Bira: 150 Experience: 30 Habitat: Carbonara Jungle Drops: Totem studs Description: Like all things annoying, this road-blocking bot comes courtesy of the astro pirates. Get near it, and the crazy thing will hop on you and blow itself up! Notes: A tricky boss if you don't know how to fight them. To beat the two totem poles, you must attack them with physical attacks. Each attack will knock away one Totem Bomb from the pole. Their suicide attacks will also remove a bomb, but the character it targets will likely die in the process. Reduce each pole to zero to beat the Totem Bombs. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 194. Peacock Fish Type: Water Level: 14 HP: 3600 Bira: 750 Experience: 30 Habitat: Port Assam Drops: Rainbow shell Description: The Peacock Fish attracts its mate by spreading its majestic fins. The brighter the fins, the less likely it is to spend its Friday nights playing role-playing games. Notes: Not the hardest of bosses as long as you don't expect Pico to survive the battle. Just focus on keeping your uselful characters alive and you'll be fine. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 195. Mugwort Type: Wood Level: 15 HP: 4500 Bira: 2500 Experience: 60 Habitat: Honey Mint Drops: None Description: Although he's a deputy police chief in Bena Rikashi, he got this one-day job because he didn't mind massaging the chief's shoulders. It's not a glamorous job. Notes: First you save his behind when he's out of tp, then he forces you to fight him? Ungrateful jerk. On an unrelated note, he's the first character in the game to use Celestial Swap. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 196. Chard Type: Dark Level: 16 HP: 6800 Bira: 7000 Experience: 120 Habitat: Nata de Coco Door Drops: Sage band Description: The leader of the pirate otters suffers from delusions of grandeur. He claims he held his punches last time. This time, he means business! Notes: Like his otter underlings, Chard keeps reappering throughout the game (and as a result, the bestiary). This time he brought some sword-wielding Pirate Otters (entry 192) and a new attack or two. He's still not much of a challenge though. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 197. Pooka Type: Dark Level: 20 HP: 2200 Bira: 650 Experience: 60 Habitat: World Seam Drops: None Description: This mysterious enigma is more of a grunt, possessing powerful attacks and empty, terrifying eyes. Notes: Not really a boss, but listed in this part of the bestiary since it's a set encounter. If you chose a dark hero/heroine and tag with 100 people in amigo mode, you'll get an egg that can be hatched for a cute baby Pooka, making it the only enemy you can actually control. You'll fight a stronger version of Pooka in the Cocoabutter Valley, but for some reason, it doesn't get its own entry in the bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 198. Policeman Type: Light Level: 20 HP: 1000 Bira: 100 Experience: 15 Habitat: World Seam Drops: None Description: The noble police officer works hard day and night to protect space. The motto of the Space Police: "Arrest 'em all, and let prison sort 'em out!" Notes: Not really a boss, but listed in this part of the bestiary since it's a space police. You'll first fight them in the prison section of the World Seam and later encounter them in other parts of Razen. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 199. Buck Private Type: Light Level: 22 HP: 4000 Bira: 20 Experience: 5 Habitat: Shishkebab Cave Drops: None Description: This trooper is one of Gil Mudflap's personal guard. He treats his men like footstools. Literally. Notes: MISSABLE. Only fought alongside Mudflap (entry 200). If you kill Mudflap before at least one of the two Buck Privates, you'll not be able to get the entry for the bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 200. Mudflap Type: Earth Level: 24 HP: 6500 Bira: 8000 Experience: 80 Habitat: Shishkebab Cave Drops: Pigheaded hat Description: Mudflap is one of Bena Rikashi's police inspectors. He looks--and smells--powerful. Be careful not to let him smother you. Notes: A somewhat tricky boss even if you are well-prepared. Mudflap loves to inflict satatus on you, including the ever-annoying sick that prevents you from using magic. He'll also use one of his Buck Privates (entry 199) as a springbord to deal some hefty damage to a single character. Make sure you take out at least one of the two Buck Privates before you finish off Mudflap since this is your only chance to get them in your bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 201. Major Type: Light Level: 23 HP: 620 Bira: 200 Experience: 12 Habitat: World Seam Drops: None Description: The elite Space Police sniper is in charge of only one thing: silently obliterating the enemy without warning, anytime and anywhere. Notes: Like all space police-type enemies, Major is listed in the boss section of the bestiary. He's summoned as backup by Cuckoo Claxon (entry 133). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 202. Dab Hasnel Type: Dark Level: 26 HP: 8000 Bira: 900 Experience: 60 Habitat: Capsicum Caverns, Cocoabutter Valley Drops: None Description: This swift enigma is battle-ready and deadly, possessing a hard outer shell and agile limbs. It relies on its natural springiness to attack its foes. Notes: Again, not a real boss. You'll fight Dab Hasnel as a set encounter in the Capsicum Caverns and later as a regular enemy in the first part of the Cocoabutter Valley on Shadra. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^B^Y^^S^T^E^A^M^L^I^N^E^R^8^8^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 203. Demar Type: Water Level: 32 HP: 12 000 Bira: 10 000 Experience: 65 Habitat: Holy Water Pyramid Drops: Shampoo cap Description: This Bena Rikashi police commissioner possesses an almost inexplicable charm. One glance with those bright eyes of his, and you can't help but fall for him. Notes: A vain and somewhat feminine man, Abalon Demar puts up quite a fight due to his ability to inflict various statuses including charm, which makes an affected character unable to attack him. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 204. Sergeant Type: Light Level: 35 HP: 1300 Bira: 240 Experience: 9 Habitat: Holy Water Pyramid Drops: None Description: This Space Police squad specializes in charging blindly into battle. More often than not, this results in what they playfully call "friendly head trauma." Notes: A set encounter during your second visit to Cassia, Sergeants are easy to take out if you know how to do it. When they have their shields in front of them, use magic. When they hold their shields above their heads, use melee attacks. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 205. Holy Sapling Type: Wood Level: 35 HP: 19 000 Bira: 12 000 Experience: 70 Habitat: The Holy Tree Drops: Garden mitts Description: Farina raised this gigantic and bloodthirsty tree from a sapling, nurturing it on a steady diet of villagers. Notes: One of the harder bosses. Its wood magic will usually kill Lassi in one hit, forcing you to spam wakey tails unless you want your party to be grinded down by its other spells. Keep Lassi alive and cast Healing wing every time it uses an attack that damages the whole party and you should be able to outlast it. Note that while Pico's fire spells are super effective, they will also cause Holy Sapling to summon a Leafwich (entry 47). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 206. Gummy Girl Type: Dark Level: 36 HP: 22 000 Bira: 10 000 Experience: 70 Habitat: Khave Ruins Drops: Sage string Description: This mysterious girl has been gummified. Nobody knows who she is, but she had a very mysterious item with her. What will happen if you stop to use it? Notes: An optional boss fought by examining the circular containment unit on the top floor of the Khave Ruins (after recharging Mokka's battery). She's not too hard, if you managed to cut down the Holy Sapling, you shouldn't have any problems with Gummy Girl. Beating her will not only get you a Sage string (part of the exp up set), but also an access card that you can use on the computer in Rio Villa to learn more about Erd's history and the rise of the robots. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 207. Sr. Patrolman Type: Light Level: 43 HP: 2200 Bira: 150 Experience: 8 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland, Rio Villa, Ships' Graveyard, Plateau of the Giant, Paella, Sugarleaf Plains West Drops: None Description: This senior Space Police officer may spend most of his time behind a desk, but he's not afraid to glower and shuffle some papers. Notes: Yet another Space Police. You'll fight them at several different locations towards the ends of the story. Sr. Patrolman is nothing but a Policeman (entry 198) with better stats. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 208. Muzzleflash Type: Fire Level: 39 HP: 22 000 Bira: 15 000 Experience: 70 Habitat: Path of Five Organs Drops: Loincloth Description: Muzzleflash is a reckless fighter, notorious for gunning down friend and foe alike. After his last battle, he was imprisoned for the safety of the galaxy. Notes: Considering that Magnus Muzzleflash is depicted as some kind of insane power house, this battle is easy. While he hits hard and can cause scorch, Muzzie shouldn't cause you any problems unless you are woefully unprepared to fight him. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 209. Pourri Type: Wind Level: 42 HP: 18 000 Bira: 12 000 Experience: 70 Habitat: Couscous Ruins Drops: Airy sleeves Description: As the chief of the Space Police in Bena Rikashi, Brie Pourri possesses unrivaled leadership skills, although she does question the decisions made by the brass. Notes: With her impractical heart-shaped flying saucer/backpack, Brie looks more like a heroine that a bunch of girls in kindergarten would come up with than a space police chief. Her annoying Cyclone Waltz attack will temporarily take a character out of the battle for a couple of turns, making her a bit more of a threat than her apperence suggests. Still not really a challenge though. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 210. Odd Beetle Type: Light Level: 43 HP: 18 000 Bira: 5000 Experience: 120 Habitat: Couscous Ruins Drops: Fairy tiara Description: What manner of insect is this? A mutation? Or is it perhaps the product of some experiment? Notes: Like Pourri (entry 209), Odd Beetle is able to take one of your characters out of the battle for a few turns with its cocoon attack. The beetle has some excellent defences and will take awhile to wear down, but as long as it doesn't put Lassi in a cocoon, you should be able to outlast it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 211. Pirate Otter Type: Water Level: 41 HP: 1600 Bira: 300 Experience: 5 Habitat: Condimen Tower, Phunnel Pit Drops: None Description: Bored with life in the sticks, these otters have started running amok to amuse themselves. They leave a trail of wedgies in their wake. Notes: Pirate Otters come in six different flavors with six different entries in the bestiary. This version is dressed in green and is a set encounter in the Condimen Tower during the Space police's assault. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 212. Pirate Otter Type: Water Level: 42 HP: 2200 Bira: 250 Experience: 5 Habitat: Condimen Tower, Phunnel Pit Drops: None Description: Don't let its adorable exterior fool you. The otter buccaneer is a fierce fighter equipped with an anchor that can smash items--and it's not afraid to use it! Notes: Pirate Otters come in six different flavors with six different entries in the bestiary. This version carries an anchor and is a set encounter in the Condimen Tower during the Space police's assault. It uses its anchor to destroy items from your inventory when it attacks you. I've never seen one destroy anything more valuable than a blue frog, so it's not as bad as it sounds. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 213. Pirate Otter Type: Water Level: 42 HP: 1900 Bira: 500 Experience: 5 Habitat: Condimen Tower, Phunnel Pit Drops: None Description: Like all otters, the otter rogue loves to fish--especially when it's fishing for wallets. Notes: Pirate Otters come in six different flavors with six different entries in the bestiary. This version carries a fishing rod and is a set encounter in the Condimen Tower during the Space police's assault. It uses its fishing rod to steal small amounts of bira from your wallet. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 214. CSI Type: Light Level: 43 HP: 680 Bira: 250 Experience: 10 Habitat: Paella, Sugarleaf Plains West Drops: None Description: These investigators specialize in forensic crime-scene analysis. They're always looking for new ways to drum up business, so try not to look nervous around them. Notes: Yet another space police enemy. You'll fight them during the attack on Condimen Tower after collecting all the millenium gummies. For some reason the bestiary lists their habitat as Jalapeno Wastelands, but you'll only fight them in Paella and Sugarleaf Plaines West. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 215. Inspector Type: Light Level: 43 HP: 920 Bira: 280 Experience: 10 Habitat: Jalapeno Wasteland, Paella, Sugarleaf Plains West Drops: None Description: The chief inspector of the Space Police wastes no time on investigations. He keeps himself free for more important things, like throwing bombs at civilians. Notes: Yet another space police enemy, this time wielding a trumpet. You'll fight them during the attack on Condimen Tower after collecting all the millenium gummies. For some reason the bestiary lists their habitat as Jalapeno Wastelands, but you'll only fight them in Paella and Sugarleaf Plaines West. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^B^Y^^S^T^E^A^M^L^I^N^E^R^8^8^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 216. Cybersaurus Type: Dark Level: 46 HP: 20 000 Bira: 0 Experience: 70 Habitat: Sugarleaf Plains West Drops: Manic shoes Description: Once, this creature wandered freely, terrorizing the locals as it pleased. The Space Police captured it and brought it under their control with cybernetic parts. Notes: Finally a real boss after all those fishy otters and spaced-out cops. Probably the hardest boss you've encountered up to this point, the Cybersaurus is accompanied by a Space Warden (entry 217). Like the CSI (entry 214) and inspector (215), Cybersaurus and Space warden are incorrectly listed as habitants of the Jalapeno Wastelands. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 217. Space Warden Type: Dark Level: 46 HP: 8000 Bira: 20 000 Experience: 20 Habitat: Sugarleaf Plains West Drops: None Description: The warden of the Space Police prisons has a brilliant mind and never makes mistakes. He controls the Cybersaurus with a remote that never leaves his side. Notes: Fought alongside the Cybersaurus (entry 216), Space Warden is possibly missable. I've never beaten the Cybersaurus before killing the Space Warden, but I assume that, like with Buck Private (entry 199), you must kill him first to get his entry in the bestiary. Cybersaurus and Space warden are incorrectly listed as habitants of the Jalapeno Wastelands. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 218. Fowler Type: Dark Level: 48 HP: 20 000 Bira: 30 000 Experience: 75 Habitat: Starway Drops: Hill boots Description: Chief fighting instructor for the Space Police and a (mostly) unparalleled martial artist, Biek Fowler's slightly sleazy style has bested many a lawbreaker. Notes: Every time you meet Biek Fowler during the story, he comes across as a real bad-ass. Unfortunately, he turns out to be a (mainly) physical attacker, not a good thing in a game where everything revolves around magic... A weak and disappointing boss who won't last long if you know what you are doing. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 219. Equillekrew Type: Dark Level: 50 HP: 8000 Bira: 1200 Experience: 25 Habitat: Cocoabutter Valley Drops: None Description: On top of being a powerful conjurer, the Equillekrew is also quite the smooth talker, leaving many an adventurer with a broken heart. Notes: Not a boss, but like the otters and space cops, he/she/it still manages to get lumped with the big dudes. Equillekrews wander around the map in Cocoabutter Valley, triggering an encounter if you touch them. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 220. Chard Type: Dark Level: 52 HP: 20 000 Bira: 16 000 Experience: 70 Habitat: Cocoabutter Valley Drops: None Description: You've beaten him twice, but now the dark planet is feeding his power. Is this the last stand of a man obsessed with the dark teachings of Master Kale? Notes: Considering that Chard is one of the final bosses of the story and caused you quite a few problems earlier in the game, one could assume that he would put up quite a fight, right? He doesn't. He's remarkably easy. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 221. Giant Larva Type: Light Level: 53 HP: 25 000 Bira: 0 Experience: 70 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: None Description: This mysterious insect larva seems to absorb any magic around it insatiably, as though its feeding off of the magical energies. Will it ever turn into a cocoon? Notes: The infant form of the final boss of the story and the first of a string of three boss battles that you have to finish in one go. Don't save after beating it since there's no way to go back afterwards. Finishing the game and restarting from your last save point will get it into your bestiary without getting you stuck in the last area without means of going back. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 222. Kale Type: Light or dark, depending on your hero. Kale will always be the opposite element of you. Level: 56 HP: 18 000 Bira: 0 Experience: 80 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: None Description: This former Will-o'-Wisp Academy student manipulated the Space Police and led them on a mad crusade against magicians. He possesses vast knowledge. Notes: Fought alongside Gummy Giant (entry 223), Kale is the second of a string of three boss battles that you have to finish in one go. Don't save after beating him since there's no way to go back afterwards. Finishing the game and restarting from your last save point will get him into your bestiary without getting you stuck in the last area without means of going back. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 223. Gummy Giant Type: Light or dark, depending on your hero. Gummy Giant will always be the same element as you. Level: 55 HP: 14 000 Bira: 0 Experience: 80 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: None Description: Fueled by the power of Kale's sinister magic, this creature has no mind of its own. It simply carries out any order it receives, no matter how cruel. Notes: Fought alongside Kale (entry 222), it is part of the second of a string of three boss battles that you have to finish in one go. Don't save after beating it since there's no way to go back afterwards. Finishing the game and restarting from your last save point will get it into your bestiary without getting you stuck in the last area without means of going back. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 224. Shadra Type: Changes during the battle (first form)/the opposite element of the hero (second form). Level: 58 HP: 35 000 Bira: 0 Experience: 0 Habitat: Chromagar Cave Drops: None Description: Shadra has transformed into a giant, sun-devouring monstrosity. Legends say that when the sun has been consumed, a new universe will be born. Notes: The last boss in the story, Shadra is actually quite tricky, especially if the two boss encounters before forced you to waste supplies. It will change element during the first part of the battle before morphing into a gruesome monster. Make sure to revive Mocca at the start of the battle since having him in the front row will take a lot of pressure of your other characters. Finishing the game and restarting from your last save point will get it into your bestiary. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 225. Securitron 3 Type: Earth Level: 70 HP: 40 000 Bira: 16 000 Experience: 30 Habitat: Glissini Caves (5th floor) Drops: None Description: These mighty robots were built using the pinnacle of Espresso technology. The war ended before they could be used. They've been mothballed underground since. Notes: The first boss of the Glissini Caves and so hard it will make Shadra seem like a poorly told joke in comparasion. To even stand a chance against Securitron 3 and its escort of four Zap Hounds (entry 146) you'll need to do three things; kill the Zap Hounds before they tear up your party, make sure to have everybody's aura aligned and pray for luck. Securitron 3 have two attacks. The first is a combo of lock on and a missile barrage. If it uses it, good, because the attack takes two turns and will "only" cause three hits, making it entirely possible for you to have everybody survive the assault. The other attack, Zap Net, is a single turn attack that hits everybody for massive damage. If Securitron 3 uses it five times in a row, you are basically dead no matter what you do. Easily one of the three hardest bosses in the game. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 226. Elder Tree Type: Wood Level: 80 HP: 50 000 Bira: 20 000 Experience: 30 Habitat: Glissini Caves (10th floor) Drops: None Description: Long ago, the Elder Tree's seeds gave birth to the planets. Its great, gigantic flowers will bloom until the end of time...or a really huge giant picks them. Notes: It's basically a super charged version of Holy Sapling (entry 205). Not that it says much, but the Elder Tree is by far the weakest of the bosses in the Glissini Caves. If you got past Securiton 3 (entry 225) this battle shouldn't be much of a problem. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 227. The Espressos caught it and sent it to anger management therapy. It now leads a quiet life. Notes: It may share its name and (minor palette swap aside) looks with the Cybersaurus (entry 216) you fought on Razen, but this thing is far stronger. Not only does it wield insanely powerfull attacks that will kill half your party in one hit, it comes with an escort consisting of a starsign-swapping Erilyn and two Jellybeasts (entry 27). Other than Macadameus (entry 249), it's the hardest boss in the game. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 228. Notes: A much stronger version of Shadra. Not as hard as some of the enemies you fought to get there, but still a formidable opponent. Beat it and a chest containing the final putty pea will apear. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 229. Monocorn Type: Wind Level: 13 HP: 2200 Bira: 800 Experience: 20 Habitat: Figurine Drops: Antenna Description: Its big body and useless wings may seem funny, but consider the tragedy of its situation: the Monocorn weeps itself to sleep with impossible dreams of flight. Macadameus Type: Wind Level: 99 HP: 85 000 Bira: 0 Experience: 0 Habitat: Quinoa Plain Drops: Warrior's nose Description: This master of martial arts lives a hermit's life. He has fought every battle a hundred times in his head before the first blow ever lands. Handle with care. Notes: You'll meet Macadameus early in the game, but it's not a good idea to challenge him until you are at level 80 or higher and have beaten the Glissini Caves. You'll also need the best available equipment for everybody (or at least Misty sets) and a good supply of wakey tails and red worms. I had every character at level 99 and the best possible gear (including one Egg set from the Amigo Tag Mode and a Bath set for Lassi), but still struggled to beat him after several tries. Since the battle won't start until you attack Macadameus, take your time to set up the planets and boost your stats as much as possible. Note that the first hit you land will cause most damage, so make sure that it's a boosted Cactus Crush from Chai. Macadameus will one-hit kill Mokka most of the time, so hiding behind him won't help you here. Try to keep him alive anyway since he will at least take a hit that would have killed one of your crucial characters like Lassi or Chai. You can fight Macadameus multiple times and beating him once will not prevent you from returning to him to use figurines and bean pops on him. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ IV.
