Bowser****************************ML5*************************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Bowser | | Location: Peach's Castle | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 35 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Fire Cloud: Jump to dodge. | | Coins : None. | | | Item Drops : None. | | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O This is a fairly simple battle. You'll get the basics of battling from Toadsworth. To attack, use the D-Pad to select a command and hit A. This command (currently Jump) will begin. With Jump, press A as you are about to hit Bowser to deal more damage and obtain one extra Jump (first Jump only); be sure to hit A again to deal more damage. As for dodging, just use A to jump over the fire cloud whenever it is launched. After Toadsworth runs off, just continually bounce on Bowser's thick head until the battle ends. 6. Midbus****************************ML6*************************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Midbus | | Location: Cavi Cape | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: ??? / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Spinning Tackle: Punch to counter. | | Coins : None. | | | Item Drops : None. | | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O This is just another tutorial battle. You'll learn the basics of fighting using Bowser. Punch using X when the power is most built up to deal a lot of hurt. You can punch to counter Midbus's spinning tackle. Et cetera. 7. Broque Monsieur****************************ML7****************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Broque Monsieur | | Location: Plack Beach | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: ??? / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 30 | - Coin Block: No effect. | | Coins : 19+ | - Mushroom Block: Restores 30 of Bowser's HP. | | Item Drops : None. | - Giga Mushroom Block: Punch to counter. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - Punching the Broque Monsieur when he is head-only will net you one Coin | | per hit. You have a base of 19 reward Coins. | | - You'll receive the Retry Clock during the battle. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O A rather simple tutorial battle. You'll learn how to use the Vacuum Block -- select it from the command menu, then rapidly press X to suck in certain things. Some will head to Mario and Luigi for defeating; others will be used by Bowser to restore HP or get temporal stat boosts. Other than that, there is little to mention in this battle. GameFAQs user kirby5790 sent in a tip for Coins. Basically, have Bowser only Vacuum the Broque Monsieur. In this way, you can have the Mario Bros. spam Green Shell to get multiple Coins. 8. Sea Pipe Statue / Stone Blooper****************************ML8************** O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Sea Pipe Statue | | Location: Plack Beach | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 320 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 120 | - Fire at Bowser: Punch to deflect. No damage | | Coins : 50 | is dealt, however. It is | | Item Drops : Hot Drumstick| dependent on the pipe used. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - The above is as from Bowser's viewpoint. | O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Stone Blooper | | Location: Plack Beach -> In Bowser | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 320 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 30 | - Aerial Tackles: Hammer counters. | | Coins : 0 | - Ground-Pound: Jump to dodge. | | Item Drops : None. | - Drill: Unavoidable; damages Bowser for 8 HP.| O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - The above is as from Mario and Luigi's viewpoint. | O=============================================================================O A simple boss with a simple strategy. Begin by Vacuuming the Stone Blooper down into Bowser, where it'll (at least) once damage him via a Drill. At this point, has Mario and Luigi continually use their Green Shell so as maximize the damage dealt. During this time, also counter EVERY SINGLE MOVE POSSIBLE. After countering the tackle when the Stone Blooper turns red, it'll fly out of Bowser and impale the statue. Have Bowser punch it until it reasserts itself atop the statue, then repeat from the beginning. 9. Scutlet****************************ML9************************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Scutlet | | Location: Flame Pipe | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 280 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 200 | - Lick: Counter via jump. | | Coins : 50 | - Aerial "Tackle": Counter with a jump. | | Item Drops : 1-Up Deluxe | - Starlow Cannon: Counter with the hammer. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O So, our first real boss, in my opinion. The moves above have targets based upon whatever the Scutlet looks at, although having both brothers jump during the aerial tackle is quite a bit safer. For the majority of the battle, the Bros. should be both using the Green Shell Special (it is easier to successfully execute than Fire Flower, deals similar damage, and costs less). Once they run low on or out of SP, just stick with jumping or hammering; whichever you're better at. A fairly basic boss, eh? Just note that the Scutlet will get two attacks per turn late in the battle. 10. Broggy****************************ML10************************************* O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Broggy | | Location: Plack Beach | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 198 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 60 | - Tackle: Counter with a punch. | | Coins : 0+ | - Ground-Pound: Use the shell to guard twice. | | Item Drops : None. | | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - Punching Broggy when his back is to you will net you one Coin per hit. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O You'll begin by learning of the flame attack -- it is executed similarly to the punch; you simply press AND HOLD Y when the flame is at the maximum power. The shell guard also is taught; it is a ducking defensive move done by holding Y down. Broggy should first be hit with fire, and then repeatedly punched. Let that process repeat. FYI, you'll know he is doing a ground-pound when he crouches down - he'll double around to try and hit again. 11. Wiggler****************************ML11************************************ O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Wiggler | | Location: Dimble Woods | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 540 / 810 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 340 | - Tackle: Three punches, shell guard. | | Coins : 150 | - Wiggler's Turnip: Punch. | | Item Drops : 1-Up Deluxe | - Wiggler's Shyguy: Shell guard. | | | - Circling Run: Punch counters. A head hit | | | ends the attack. | | | - Shyguys' Vegetable: Unblockable. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - This boss is fought by Bowser. | | - Wiggler cannot be damaged until his four body segments become yellow. | | - Wiggler remains yellow for only two turns. Save your SP for then! | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | SUB-BOSSES: Leaf Guys | | Location: Dimble Woods -> In Bowser | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 56 / 84 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 20 | - Tackle: Hammer counter. | | Coins : 0 | | | Item Drops : Fighter Wear | | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - These enemies are fought by the Mario Bros. | | - They are fought when Bowser Vacuums when the Leaf Guys holding the large | | vegetable are nearby. (FYI, that severely damages Wiggler. ^_^ ) | | - The hammer and Green Shell special are ineffective as the enemies fly. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O For the Wiggler, your immediate goal is to save SP and damage Wiggler. You need to change Wiggler's body to yellow to start doing the latter. Do so by hitting the body parts, preferably back-to-front (for self-defense reasons), that are red. IGNORE THE HEAD -- it won't be damaged under most circumstances. Once the four body parts are yellow, begin using your Special move on Wiggler over the next two turns, unless you have a dire need for healing. After those two turns, the cycle begins again. Additionally, during the battle, watch the top screen. Every so often, two Leaf Guys will arrive holding an extra-large vegetable. Vacuum the Leaf Guys for the Mario Bros. to fight while the vegetable damages Wiggler. You actually better do this -- the Leaf Guys will eventually drop this vegetable on you if you don't suck 'em up! And they say vegetables are good for you... :P 12. Durmite****************************ML12************************************ O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Durmite | | Location: Nerve Cluster | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 326 / 489 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 300 | - Tackle: Hammer counter. | | Coins : 120 | - Silk String: Jump over it. | | Item Drops : Syrup Jar | - Vacuum & Spit: Jump over the shot Biffidus. | | POW Gloves | - Straw: Jump/Hammer it or the Durmite will | | | restore some HP! | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - During the battle, some Biffidus enemies may join. They are too weak to | | be considered truly part of the boss (or even sub-boss). They only have | | 10/15 HP and only tackle (jump to counter). | | - FYI, the Straw has 16/24 HP. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O This is a fairly basic boss battle; your goal is simply damage the Durmite a bunch. I prefer using the Green Shell Special for the majority of the battle. Always remember to immediately target the Straw whenever it appears. Additionally, during the Tackle attack, watch for the speed the Durmite's body is turning red -- the tackle only initiates when all of its segments are red. If Mario/Luigi is caught with the silk string, that brother is sucked up and shot at the other one (jump to dodge). 13. Bowser's Castle****************************ML13**************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Bowser's Castle | | Location: Dimble Woods | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 535 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 380 | - Tackle: Punch counter. | | Coins : 200 | - Airship Strike: Fireball counter. | | Item Drops : Star Candy | - Spiky Enemy Release: Fire breath. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O This is mostly a tutorial on these giant battles, of which there are four or so. Punching (offensive) is done by tapping the corresponding button and sliding the stylus approximately along the arrow as far and fast as possible. Your offensive fire breath is done by blowing into the mic for as long as possible. (Remember to not be too close!) Defensive punching is similar to offensive punching. As for the fireball defense, you'll tap a point in the marked area; the fireball will shoot in a straight line from Bowser's mouth through that point. Don't shoot too much, or Bowser will run low on power with them. Anyhow, just basically punch or flame the castle for the battle, based on whichever you work best with. Also be sure to flame when the castle sends out those spiky enemies. Nothing else really to mention. 14. Midbus****************************ML14************************************* O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Midbus | | Location: Bowser's Castle | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 950 / 1,425 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 550 | - Rotating Iron Ball: Shell guard. | | Coins : 300+ | - Thrown Iron Ball: Punch or shell guard. | | Item Drops : TNT Drumstick| - Ground-Pound: Punch or shell guard. | | | - Punch: Counter with nine punches. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - Those two attacks marked with "Punch or shell guard" depend on the | | situation. If the ball is thrown AT you, or Midbus is going to land in | | front of you, punch. If either is going land ON you, shell guard. | | - For doing "Excellent" attacks, the audience throws Coins at you, a | | potential reference to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. | | - Additionally, food can be thrown at Midbus, which is eaten on later | | turns. He can have Donuts (+10 HP), Cake (+20 HP), or Meat (+50 HP and | | POW Up) thrown. Always Vacuum when they are just left on the field -- | | Bowser will then earn the effects! | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O A fairly basic battle, other than the notices above (that chart is practically becoming the whole strategy for the bosses). I'd prefer to use the Shy Guy Special, because it is generally more powerful. 15. Alpha Kretin****************************ML15******************************* O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Alpha Kretin | | Location: Flab Zone | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 385 / 577 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 700 | - Light Sphere: Hammer block. | | Coins : 300 | - Thunderbolt: Jump over it. | | Item Drops : Max Syrup Jar| | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - When the six orbs are connected, each has 20/30 HP. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O At the beginning of the battle, the six orbs are connected and are colored either green or red. Mario is to jump on the red ones, and Luigi on the green. Otherwise, the attack is pointless. After an orb is hit, those it is connected to will change color. Try to use this so the next brother can hit an enemy. You will need to hit each orb for 20/30 damage so it changes to blue. Once all six do, things change. The boss will split apart and one will remain. Rarely, you'll get a free turn, so use your new Special against it. On its next turn, it will summon five more orbs to help attack. After this, one will flash and jump around -- KEEP TRACK OF THAT ONE! This is the one you'll need to focus on with your new Special, as it is the real boss, and the others are mere fakes. This cycle will continue if you take too long to defeat the single orb, at which point we go from the start, albeit slightly damaged. UPDATE -- During the time that the Alpha Kretin is split up, you can use a Fire Flower or two to easily eliminate the clones of Alpha Kretin, which will reveal the real one. This is best used if you lose track of the real one during the shuffling moment. Thanks to Jacob Weiler for this tip!! 16. Bowser****************************ML16************************************* O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Bowser | | Location: Toad Town | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 1,215/1,821 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 1,000 | - Punch (with puff): Do nothing! | | Coins : 500 | - Punch (without puff): Jump. | | Item Drops : Shell Boots | - Fire Breath: Jump and hold onto Starlow. | | | - Goomba Storm (first half): Jump on/over. | | | - Goomba Storm (second half): Hammer counter. | | | - Shy Guy Attack: Multiple hammer counters. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - When the Shy Guy attack occurs, note that Bowser will go from one bro | | to the other. This attack will not be executed unless Bowser has learned | | the Shy Guy Special. (Thanks to kirby5790 for mentioning that.) | | - When Starlow appears to help with the Fire Breath attack dodging, be | | absolutely sure to hold Mario and Luigi onto her for the whole attack; | | do not let go of A or B or, odds are, you'll sustain a substantial | | amount of damage. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O Now is another prime example of the charts absorbing most of the strategy. Heh heh... Anyhow, a combination of the Excellent!-Powerful Badges and the Jump Helmet Special seem to be preferable here, as far as offense goes. Be ready to heal as well - if you begin screwing up, you'll lose a lot of HP in a small amount of time. 17. Tower of Yikk****************************ML17****************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Tower of Yikk | | Location: Blubble Lake | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 508 / --- | Attacks: | | EXP. : 1,800 | - Bomb: (Multiple) Punch counters. | | Coins : 800 | - Air Raid: Burn the ships down. | | Item Drops : Star Candy | - Repairs: Burn the worker down on your turn. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O This boss has been armored, so a punch doesn't damage it. However, punching it does move it back, quite a bit if it is "Excellent". Continue punching until the tower ends up in the water. Punch its head on your turn and, on its turns, repeatedly tap the marked area to keep it in the water. This way, you'll deal more damage. However, just note that the tower can use its attacks to knock you into the lake and therefore damage YOU quite a bit. At this point, I would recommend using a regular jump on the magic rod. Why? Well, the goal is to defeat the Wisdurm Durmite, not the rod. Attacking the rod lowers the gauge; once it empties, the boss shrinks again. The opposite is true as well: attack the boss and the gauge remains full and the boss will never shrink. The boss is overall more powerful enlargened, and we want to save our SP for later, when it is small and more damage can be dealt. Of course, once the boss shrinks, let the cycle continue as before. 19. This will continue for a bit on the train continues onward. You'll eventually reach a gray, rocky structure. When given the opportunity, repeatedly and rapidly punch it before you get hit by the missiles! Further along, the train will run into a green structure, looking like the hills in the original SMB games. Initially, you'll want to flame it, after which you can go with either fire breath or punches while it wears this thing. After that, it is much like the start. Near the final train station before the bridge, it will begin launching robots. Punch the one in front of you so as to hit the others in the counter - it will damage the train as well! You'll succeed if the train explodes before it crosses the bridge. 20. Do this by initially using both Mario and Luigi's turns to deal two Jump Helmet Specials to L. Then go to M, then L, swapping with each turn. If you need to restore SP, be sure to heal both Mario and Luigi's SP, so as to not disrupt the pattern. If you're lucky (as in Bowser Memory L doesn't heal - use a Green Shell on him if he does, by the way), Bowser Memory L will not be able to revive his partner, who then falls on the next Special. 21. When it is just the Junker, use the Falling Star Special for optimal damage. If he summons some Trash Bins, and hasn't taken away Luigi, use Snack Basket. If he DOES take Luigi, repeatedly jump on the Bin in which Luigi is in. Otherwise, be healing. I'd recommend the use of Ultra/Max Nuts/Syrup Jars for the healing of one stat, although Star Candies are highly preferable for multi-stat healing. 22. Magikoopa Mob or the one with Broggy (forgot what it was) are preferable. It is fairly simple for this portion of the fight. Now, what if Midbus summons those four Snawfuls? Well, we DON'T want them there: Midbus will get 30/60/90/120 HP per turn, depending on how many are left. Vacuum them and let the Mario Bros. deal with them - a decent Snack Basket will finish them right off. Whenever a Vacuumed Snawful is gotten rid of, a counter goes up. Around the time it hits 8, Midbus will stop being able to summon any Snawfuls. Of course, you better heal when you need to (as Bowser; if Mario and Luigi need help, you're SEVERELY underleveled) - one screw-up with the snowball attacks will easily end it for you. I'm not joking - if the first of the multi-snowballs knocks you over, you may be going to take over 200 damage, although it kind of depends on your level and all that. 23. Initially, it is impossible to damage. So either heal or use Jumps to raise the Badge meter. After a few turns, it will summon two Dark Satellites. I'd prefer you attack these with normal Jumps, but, if you're low-leveled, the Snack Basket Special also is good. After defeating both the Dark Satellites (they turn and blink red), they soon do a kamikaze move by launching both it and a bomb at you. You are to hit the Dark Satellite. Often, it can be tough to tell which is which, which is why a double hammer counter from the Mario Bros. will definitely work, although one bro will take some damage. After both Dark Satellites have been sent into the Dark Star, we are now able to damage it, and damage it well. If you're using the Powerful Badge, and the gauge is full, use it and begin to use the Falling Star Special. Do this over the next several turns. Eventually, the Dark Star will force us to revert to the beginning of the battle, sort of, where it is undamageable. Repeat this process until the Dark Star loses all of its HP. After this, it will try one last-ditch move. Repeatedly press A and B to dodge this attack. It isn't painful -- I was around Lv. 25 and it did ~45 damage -- but it still might KO a character. 24. Peach's Castle****************************ML24***************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | BOSS: Peach's Castle | | Location: Peach's Castle | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. You are to avoid them and the consequential damage (black holes have infinite gravity, after all) by simply punching Peach's Castle away from you. When the boss's HP is around 3/4, it will fire the unavoidable laser and send you into the black hole. Escape as usual and another black hole will be summoned and deflected to be behind your opponent. You can now repeatedly punch the castle to send it into there. Just note that, if you send it in there, it, like you, has a chance to punch you. Counter with your own. When the boss's HP is around 1/2, the black holes are drawn closer together and the shield in the previous phase is released. Use your fire breath a few times to hope for a Mushroom (you never know when you'll need it, after all). When the boss's HP is around 1/5, both you and the castle are forced into the black holes. Now, just time your tackles to avoid the spikes (tackle around a second after the spikes are raised) and to defeat the castle. 25. So, I'll go to where Fawful removes his helmet. Vacuum it into Bowser to let the Mario Bros. fight it. Once you do, free your bro (the Vacuum Helmet always does this to me after being Vacuumed up). Next, assuming your Specials haven't been Vacuumed yet, proceed to use Falling Star. If, unfortunately, it does, you'll have to go with your regular attacks until it regurgitates it. It is, in essence, a hurt-and-dodge kinda fight; no real strategy to it other than brute force. A similar thing goes for later, when you recommence the battle versus Fawful. Use Broggy Bonker or Magikoopa Mog on Fawful until he's KO'ed. Dodge all of his attacks, and heal when needed. Again, no real strategy. 26. Seeing as you SHOULD only fight him for this purpose once, bring out your best Special -- Broggy Bonker or Magikoopa Mob. Repeat it a few times until his HP is depleted. Nothing special for now. After this, the Dark Star Core will actually revive and enlargen Dark Bowser. You'll need to deal with the Minion attack - the reactions are fairly reasonable. Just shell guard twice at the end! After this, punch Dark Bowser in the gut and the Dark Star Core will be spit out. Activate your Vacuum and VERY RAPIDLY press X -- if you don't ingest it, you'll need to start from the beginning! Once you do Vacuum it... Okay, as for the Dark Star Core. We first should focus on its eyes. I prefer to do this with normal jumps, so as to save the SP for later -- it does cost a fair deal for easy winning, SP-wise. After finishing BOTH eyes, I think you might be able to use Snack Basket to take out the three legs in one go; if not, just continue normally attacking them. Once those five parts are dead, we just have to deal with the Core. This is where you definitely want to activate the badge's effect if it involves the Powerful badge. Over the next few turns, use Falling Star, degrading to your next best (based on performance - I'd use Snack Basket or Mighty Meteor) when SP runs low. Don't worry about healing by this point if the Mario Bros. where fully healed at the start and didn't take much damage. Now, I emphasize SPEED in this battle, and I don't mean the stat. When you fight the Core, if you are too slow, you'll pretty much have to start the whole battle over, depleted of HP, SP, and items. Use your most powerful attacks and only use Star Candies or Max Nuts for healing. Good luck! 27. I prefer using the Jump Helmet Special for the majority of the battle. 28. Mario is to jump on the red ones, and Luigi on the green. Otherwise, the attack is pointless. After an orb is hit, those it is connected to will change color. Try to use this so the next brother can hit an enemy. You will need to hit each orb for 135+/207+ damage so it changes to blue. Once all six do, things change. The boss will split apart and one will remain. Rarely, you'll get a free turn, so use your Jump Helmet/Mighty Meteor against it. On its next turn, it will summon five more orbs to help attack. After this, one will flash and jump around -- KEEP TRACK OF THAT ONE! This is the one you'll need to focus on with the aforementioned Special, as it is the real boss, and the others are mere fakes. Medal: 575 / 867 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Tackle: Hammer counter. | | Coins : 0 | - Silk String: Jump over it. | | Item Drops : None | - Vacuum & Spit: Jump over the shot Biffidus. | | | - Straw: Jump/Hammer it or the Durmite will | | | restore some HP! | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - During the battle, some Biffidus enemies may join. They are too weak to | | be considered truly part of the boss (or even sub-boss). They only have | | ~ 60/90 HP and only tackle (jump to counter). | | - FYI, the Straw has 40/60 HP. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O Just constantly use Falling Star - one/two hits will do it. O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Alpha Kretin X | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O============================O================================================O | HP/C. Medal: 810 / 1,215 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Light Sphere: Hammer block. | | Coins : 0 | - Thunderbolt: Jump over it. | | Item Drops : None. | | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - When the six orbs are connected, each has 135/207 HP. You will need to hit each orb for 135+/207+ damage so it changes to blue. Once all six do, things change. The boss will split apart and one will remain. Rarely, you'll get a free turn, so use only your Falling Star against it. Later, on its next turn, it will summon five more orbs to help attack. After this, one will flash and jump around -- KEEP TRACK OF THAT ONE! This is the one you'll need to focus on with the aforementioned Special, as it is the real boss, and the others are mere fakes. This cycle will continue if you take too long to defeat the single orb, at which point we go from the start, albeit slightly damaged. O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Wisdurm Durmite X | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O============================O================================================O | HP/C. Medal: 2,380/3,570 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Silk Swing: Hammer counter. | | Coins : 0 | - Shrinking: Hammer the boss a few times. | | Item Drops : None. | - Heart Drop: Multiple hammer counters. | | | - Star Beam: Jump over. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - When the Wisdurm Durmite is small, it only can use the Silk Swing. The | | gauge above it increases as it takes damage. Once it is full, the boss | | gets bigger and swaps the Silk Swing for the other three attacks. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O Okay, as mentioned above, the Wisdurm Durmite will begin small. At this point, I fully recommend using Falling Star on it. Eventually, the gauge will fill up fill up and the Wisdurm Durmite enlargens. At this point, I would recommend using a regular jumps on the magic rod. Note that you can go ahead and just damage the boss in the enlargened form; if you're down to less than 5 turns, go for it! O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Bowser Memory MX | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O============================O================================================O | HP/C. Medal: 3,000/4,500 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Dashing With Boo: Jump ONLY to avoid Boo! | | Coins : 0 | - Hammer Toss: Counter with Hammer. | | Item Drops : None. | - Mushroom: Heals or revives; unavoidable. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - This boss is fought alongside Bowser Memory MX, detailed above. | | - For the "Dashing With Boo" attack above, stomping on Boo ends the | | attack. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O Okay, this boss battle is fairly simple, for the most part. The only bump in the road is that Bowser Memory L can revive its partner. So, what to do? This would begin early on the battle. You'll want to try to deal damage evenly. Do this by initially using both Mario and Luigi's turns to deal a Falling Star Special to L. Then go to M, then L, swapping with each turn. If you are fully consistent with this Special, you should be able to KO Bowser Memory L, then M on the next turn. Alternate, SP-conserving method: Do the initial Falling Star on L to even out the HP - even it further if you feel a need. Then just do Snack Basket each turn. This prevents the need for double-healing, thereby dealing somewhat more damage. NOTICE - By this point, be trying to maintain higher SP levels. O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Junker X | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O=============================O===============================================O | HP/C. Medal: 3,080 / 4,620 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Thwomp: Jump to delay movement and dodge. | | Coins : 0 | - Garbage Toss-and-Tackle: Jump over. | | Item Drops : None. | - Garbage Bin: Jump over all but Cheep Cheep.| O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - The boss may toss Luigi into one of the Trash Bins. Keep track of which | | one Luigi went into and defeat it! | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O O=============================================================================O | SUB-BOSSES: Trash Bins | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O============================O================================================O | HP/C. Medal: 143 / 214 | Bin Contents When Emptied: | | EXP. : 0 | - Chain Chomp: Hammer counter. | | Coins : 0 | - Dead Fish: Hammer counter. | | Item Drops : None. | - Nooz: Watch carefully; counter with hammer. | | | | | | Actual Attack: | | | - Tackle: Pull out your hammer when it is | | | close. You'll learn why... | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O Okay, again, a simple concept. Offensively, you should be doing one of several things. When it is just the Junker, use the Falling Star Special for optimal damage. If he summons some Trash Bins, and hasn't taken away Luigi, use Snack Basket. If he DOES take Luigi, repeatedly jump on the Bin in which Luigi is in. Otherwise, be healing or jumping. NOTICE - By this point, be trying to maintain higher SP levels. O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Dark Star X | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O============================O================================================O | HP/C. Medal: 416 / 624 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Laser: Jump over if from ground; otherwise, | | Coins : 0 | do nothing. | | Item Drops : None. | - Suicide with Bomb: Hammer the enemy. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O We'll begin with just the Dark Star. Initially, it is impossible to damage. So use Jumps to raise the Badge meter. After a few turns, it will summon two Dark Satellites. I'd prefer you attack via the Snack Basket Special. O=============================================================================O | BOSS: Bowser X | | Location: Challenge Node -> Gauntlet | O============================O================================================O | HP/C. Medal: 7,155/9,999 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 0 | - Punch (with puff): Do nothing! | | Coins : 0 | - Punch (without puff): Jump. | | Item Drops : None. | - Fire Breath: Jump and hold onto Starlow. | | | - Goomba Storm (first half): Jump on/over. | | | - Goomba Storm (second half): Hammer counter. | | | - Shy Guy Attack: ~10 hammer counters. | | | - Fireballs: Hammer counter. | | | - Giga Bowser: Jump and dodge. | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O Well ... to keep it short and sweet ... this is really just a hit-and-dodge fight. Luckily, you'll be hurting more than dodging. Long story short, use the Bro Badge when possible, items when needed, and ALWAYS be using the Falling Star Special when possible. Of course, Bowser will suck in a used Special, so you'll have to resort to your second-best, then third-best Special and so on until you get the good ones back. Good luck! 34. Shroob (x3)****************************ML34******************************** O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O | OPTIONAL BOSS: Shroob (x3) | | Location: Bowser's Castle | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | HP/C. Medal: 500 / 750 | Attacks: | | EXP. : 300 | - Laser: Jump to dodge. | | Coins : 100 | - Multi-Laser: Jump over to dodge. | | Item Drops : Shroob Boots | | | Star Candy | | O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O | Notices: | | - This above stats are for each individual Shroob. | | - Totals: 1,500/2,250 HP; 900 EXP.; 300 Coins. | O-----------------------------------------------------------------------------O A very simple and easy battle, although it depends on when you came here. The best Special to use is Snack Basket, and you should have enough SP between Mario and Luigi to use it the 2~3 times you'll need to defeat the three Shroobs. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ +++ +++ This is the end of KeyBlade999's +++ +++ Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Enemy/Boss FAQ. +++ +++ +++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ________________ | ____________ | | | | | | | | | | |____________| |________________________________________ | |____________| |_________________________ | | | | | | |\ /\ /| | | | | | | | \ / \ / | | | |____________| | | | (_) (_) | | |________________| |_| |_| ___ ___ ___ /'__`\ /'__`\ /'__`\ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \ \_\ \ \_\ \ \_\ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ KeyBlade999
