OPENING \ _____ / | | | | | | | | |_____| -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- |_____| Welcome all to the New Super Mario Bros. FAQ/Walkthrough written by yours truly. In this project I will be taking on my first Mario RPG game. I've always looked forward to FAQing one of them but never had the chance until now. I hope you find it helpful as you and I play our way through the game together. If you have any thoughts, comments, or questions don't hesitate to ask. Email me at bbeltchris92@netscape.net and I'll respond to you as quickly as I can. I hope you enjoy my FAQ/Walkthrough! PLEASE NOTE before I begin the guide...World 4 and World 7 are only accessible by beating the World 3 and 6 bosses as regular Mario. If you face these bosses having used a mushroom and not being in the form of smaller Mario, you will move onto World 5 and World 8. Make sure you beat these bosses as regular Mario so that you can easily follow along with my guide. I will go about doing the Walkthrough by doing Worlds...1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ _______ _______ / \ -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- / \ | | | | \ _____ / 03. STORY \ _____ / | | | | | | | | |_____| -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- |_____| EMERGENCY NEWS FLASH! Princess Peach has been kidnapped! While enjoying a nice walk with Mario, the beloved ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom was whisked away by an unknown assailant. How could this happen with Mario around? According to eyewitnesses, the walk was going swimmingly when Mario and the princess spotted smoke billowing out of Peach's castle. The mustachioed marvel immediately jumped into action and sped off toward the fire. The moment he left her side, the princess vanished! Who's behind Princess Peach's disappearance? Who's behind the attack on Peach's Castle? Are the two incidents related? Didn't Bowser Jr. once think Princess Peach might be his mother? Looks like Mario's going to need all the Mega Mushrooms he can find to get to the bottom of this mess! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ _ _____ _______ / \ -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- / \ | | | | \ _____ / 04. WORLD 1 \ _____ / | | | | | | | | |_____| -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- |_____| Walk forward onto the red circle. ********** World 1-1 ********** As soon as the zone begins walk forward and jump up onto the "?" box to get a coin. A goomba will move toward you. Jump on it to kill it and continue on. Up ahead will be two "?" blocks. Hit the one on the right first and get the coin. Then hit the one on the left and a mushroom will come down on the right side. Run into it and become Super Mario. For now begin playing carefully. Leap up the two ledges and get the six coins. On the next ledge jump onto the next ledge and hit the brick to get the coin. Step down from the ledge onto the ground. Here you will see three brick boxes, and one above the middle. Take out the side bricks and then jump up on the middle brick. Leap onto it on the top and jump up continuously. Doing this will give you a coin for every hit you make on the brick. It only lasts for 5 seconds so try and jump onto the brick box as many times as you can. After that, step down and get the 4 coins. Kill the gooba coming after you and continue on. Leap over the pipe and then over the gap between the land. On the other side get the four coins and kill the oncoming gooba. Walk forward and leap up onto the "?" block. A super mushroom will come out of it. Once it hits the ground run into it and you will become mega Mario. Once you're mega Mario nothing can kill you and you can run over everything including pipes. When you're mega Mario try and run forward as fast as you can so that you can move deeper and deeper into the zone. Continue to run forward and you will pass the middle of the zone. By the time your mega Mario meter runs out you will be right near the end of the level. Two 1-Up mushrooms will drop down from above so grab them. Kill the standing koopa. Destroy the brick boxes and leap onto the mountain of unbreakable boxes. At the top leap towards the flag and slide down. The higher you jump the more EXP points you get. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 1-2 ********** You will be dropped down the wall as the level begins. Once you've broken through the bricks leap up. Drop down the stairs and jump up breaking the flying "?" block. A 1-Up mushroom will drop out so make sure to grab it. After this continue across the level. Once you come to an opening, ground pound it to get more coins. In order to ground pound, press the "A" button and press down on the D-Pad. Get the flower power or mushroom on the left and the coin on the right. On the last time you ground pound, do it all the way down the wall. On the bottom get all of the coins including those in the "?" boxes. After this, walk to the right and use the spring to vault back up onto the ground. Walk back and get the coins and kill the oncoming gooba. Walk forward and jump onto the bricks to get the star coin. After this, drop down and kill the two goobas. Get the coins and then move on to the right. Walking forward, get the mushroom/flower power. Here you will also see your first Koopa Troopa. Leap onto it's shell and send it flying in the other direction. Or if you're fire Mario kill it with a fireball. Continue on after this. Walking forward kill the two goobas and continue. Kill the Koopa Troopa and walk forward where you'll be stopped by a long block. Leap up and destroy the bricks so that you'll have enough room to jump over onto the other side. On the other side of the block, kill the gooba and leap across the gap to the other side. Over here, kill the koopa troopa and leap onto the bricks. On the pyramid of the bricks, ground pound on the top to get down to the Star Coin. After this leap onto the balancer and walk across. On the other side of the balancer leap onto the row of bricks. Kill the goopa and then drop down and continue on forward. Over here you will pass the halfway point to the level. Kill the plant with with your fireball if you are fire Mario but otherwise avoid it and continue on. Jump into the last gap between pipes and kill the goopa. Leap onto the plant and fall down on the other side. Leap onto the ledge and kill the standing koopa. Leap from pike to pike and land back on the bricks. Kill the oncoming standing koopa and break some of the brick boxes. Leap down off of the ledge and kill the two goobas. From here leap forward and walk onto the balancer. Walk across and get the coins. Leap onto the bricks on the other side and run across picking up the coins as you go. Leap off and then hop over the gap. Climb the stairs and then enter the verticle pipe. When you come up you'll be near the stairwell of unbreakable bricks. Leap to the top and dash across onto the pole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 1-3 ********** As world 1-3 starts up, leap onto the mushroom ledge and grab the four coins. Leap down onto the green mushroom and jump onto the swaying mushroom. When the mushroom sways to the right, leap off of it onto the mushroom platform. On here, kill the standing red koops and leap up to grab the coins. On top of the mushroom ledge is a "?" box with a mushroom in it. Grab it and then continue on to the right and leap the gap. Grab the coins and leap over the spring and kill the remaining four goobas. After you kill them, go next to the spring. Leap onto the spring and hold down A so that you're propelled up high into the air and onto the green mushroom ledge. Collect all of the coins and then do the same thing you just did on the spring to the right. This next pink ledge is a trampoline ledge. As soon as you come down and hit it, press A and rise up to get the coins. Come back down again and propel yourself to the right. On the way down in the air, keep your finger on the right side of the D-Pad collecting the coins. In the air, you'll collect some coins throughout places and also pass the halfway point in the level. When you come down, you'll be on a rising mushroom ledge. Leap off of it onto the next one to the right. On the next one there is a "?" block so get the coin and leap to the right getting two more coins. After this, get the star coin. Leap off and then kill the standing green koopa. Leap through the red ring, and then the 8 red coins will become available. Get them all as you leap from ledge to ledge. Collect them quickly or else they will fade away. When you land on the final greeen ledge, kill the standing green koopa and leap onto the swaying red mushroom ledge. Jump to the other swaying mushroom on the right. On this mushroom, wait till it rises in the air to the right and leap onto the pole ending the level. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ************** World 1- ^^^ ||| ||| ************** In the tower, wait till the platform drops down and collect the four coins. As it rises up, leap onto one of the ledges and avoid the drybones. These guys will die for 5 seconds or so after you kill them but then they're bones will reconnect and they will come back to life. Get out of their quickly after you nail him. On the left get the mushroom/flower power. When the two horizontal towers separate, leap up onto one of them. Above, wait for the towers to open a little and then leap onto the right tower. Get the four coins and then do the same thing two times over to get out of the horizontal tower section of the zone. Up here, hit the drybones and then run to the left. Leap up the two ledges and then wait for the upper tower to raise and then the vertical towers to rise with it. Slide underneath it and then on the other side, wait for them to drop once more. Once they drop, scamper across the left. Over hear, take a shortcut and jump four times from ledge to ledge. Over here you'll be in a new section. Wait for the horizontal towers to form like stairs and then climb up them one by one. Once you've reached the top step leap onto the ledge. Over here, take a left and then go down in the pipe. The pipe will rocket you up and then you will be on a ledge. While going up, you would have passed the halfway point in the zone. Up here, keep climbing up on the right side from ledge to ledge. Up here try to time it right and sink into the pipe when the horizontal towers are not together. This will rocket you up to the top ledge. On here go through the door to fight the mini boss. ******************************************************************************* Mini Boss Bowser Jr. Difficulty: 1/5 ******************************************************************************* This is about as easy as they come. In order to damage him leap on his head. As you hit him, he will fall down and go under his shell. When he goes under, do not strike him or you will die or lose a Mario level. Once he comes back out, hit him again. He'll go under his shell. Don't hit him when he does this, but when he comes out hit him for the third and final time. Once you beat him, he will run away across World 1. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After you beat him, you'll get your EXP. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 1-4 ********** As the level begins, run down the hill and kill the oncoming three goobas. At the bottom of the hill, go up the hill to the right and kill the standing green koopa. Once the koops has been taken care of, grab the coins and go down the hill. Down here kill another green koopa and ground pound the "?" block so that you can get the mushroom. After this, hit the two middle bricks to get two coins. Continue onward killing the two oncoming goobas and going up the two small hills. Up here, get the two coins and then drop down. Down here break the two bricks. The one on the left will give you coins for five seconds to maximize on that. After this, continue right by leaping onto the pipe and over. Fire the flying green koopa's shell to the left so you won't have to deal with it any longer then break the brick in front of you on the right. Once you do, a blue mushroom will come out. Grab it and it will make you Mini Mario. Once you're mini Mario you can go a lot faster and glide when you jump. Once you're mini Mario continue heading forward. You can't kill enemies but they can kill you so watch out. Get the coins and ignore the pipe that produces goobas. Leap over the gap, and on the other side break the three "?" blocks. The ends have coins but the middle has a mushroom which will send you back to Big Mario. Leap up and over the row of hard blocks and down. Run quickly because the red pipe above you produces goobas at a fast rate. At this point in the level you will have passed the midway point. Continuing on, get the two coins and drop down. Break the "?" block to get the mushroom and then run forward to your right. If you're still mini mario, leap across the grab and get the star coin. If not continue on leaping over the ledge and dropping down on the right. Run forward and grab the two coins. Kill some of the oncoming goobas if you want to but there is a pipe which keeps producing them at the end so don't worry about it to much. At the end of the open area, leap onto the pipe and jump off onto the flagpole. Side down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 1-5 ********** As the level starts, grab the coins and then leap over the gap onto the trampoline purple mushrooms. You will be on these for the majority of the zone so get used to them. Over here, break the "?" blocks on the sides and the mushroom in the middle. Continue on in the level until you see the star coin. Press the A button to jump higher and grab it. While up here, grab the four coins that were on the side. Once you've finished doing this, continue on to the right. Eventually you will be right near a flat green ledge. Jump onto it and kill the standing red koopa. Grab the coins and then leap onto the the trampoline mushrooms to the right. Kill the standing green koopa and then continue on. Kill the oncoming standing green koopa and grab the coins above you. Coming behind him is another standing green koopa so kill that one too. Continue forward and you will come across another pack of three standing green koopas. Kill all of them and then continue on to the right. After about five mushrooms you will see an oncoming green koopa. Kill it and then continue on. Up here you will find a standing red koopa. Kill it and then leap across the small gap and grab the coins. Jump onto the next trampoline mushrooms to the right and kill another standing red koopa. After this leap onto the flat mushroom ledge. Continue forward and leap up onto another platform. Up here you will see a balancer. Once the two platforms are towards the middle, leap across to the top mushroom platform. Up here, get the star coin and then leap down. Continue right and then take a ride on the second balancer. Leap across when both platforms are in the middle and then leap across to the right. On the right is another balancer so quickly leap across onto a raised mushroom platform. Drop down and then leap across the next platform avoiding the flying green koopa. Once you land you will have passed the halfway point in the zone. After you're on the platform, avoid the flying green koopa and back onto the trampoline mushrooms. Over here break the 6 "?" blocks. The fourth one to the right will have a mushroom. Once you've broken them all leap across the gap and onto another trampoline mushroom. On here leap across onto more trampoline mushrooms. Over here, grab the red ring. Eight coins will appear so try and grab them all. If you do, you will get a prize. After this continue on to the right. Over here, leap over the gap and then continue to the right. Leap up onto the raised up trampoline platform. Jump to the other side when the flying green koopa is out of the way. Continue onto the right leaping up and down on ledges of trampoline mushrooms. Drop down and then leap up to get the two coins. On the ledge to the right, get the two coins and then leap off to the right. Ground pound onto the four bricks here and get some heavy coins. Leap off and grab the two coins and then leap over the two gaps with a mushroom platform in the middle getting four coins. Over here, leap up onto another raised up ledge and grab the two coins. Leap to the right, and then leap over the gap and onto the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ***************** World 1-^.......^ ||..~..|| ||./o\.|| ****************** Begin the level by running forward, jumping on the ledge and collecting the three coins. Jump onto the rope and run across to the other side dodging the fire bolts. On the other side collect the coins and continue on. Leap down onto the rope and run across to the other side. Over here, jump onto the moving block and get the mushroom/flower power. Leap over the fire and onto another block. Leap across again onto another one. When the firebolt is not in your way leap across onto another block. Follow this step two more times and land on the ledge to the right. Drop down and then kill the drybones. Once the spike wall has lifted up, run across into a gap. Break the "?" block and get the coin. Once the spike wall rises up, run under it. In the gap break the brick that will give you coins for 5 seconds. Once your coin spree is over, go under another spike wall. On the right, stop on the two blue squares and wait for the spike walls to rise up again. Once they're up in the air, run across, onto the ledge and then run under another spike wall. Once you get to the gap, rest for awhile as the spike walls come down and rise up again. Once they go up in the air once more leap onto the ledge and run under the next spike wall. At the end of this stretch you will finally come to a break from the spike walls. You will then reach the halfway point in the zone. Leap across the rope to the right and break the "?" block. Grab the mushroom/flower power and then leap into the block in the middle. Once you're ready leap onto the rope to the right and then to the rope above it. Drop down to another rope and then jump onto the block to the right. When you're ready leap across the rope to the right and dodge the firebolt before moving on. At the end of the rope, leap across onto another rope. Wait for the firebolt to pass and then continue on. Grab the coins and then leap across the fire onto a big block. Nail the drybones and then leap to the next block on the right. Avoid the firebolt and then leap across the fire onto the ledge. Here, enter the door to the right. In here, run to the right and ignore the stone statues. Over to your right you will find yourself in a classic battle from the old Super Mario Brothers days. ******************************************************************************* End of World Boss Bowser Difficulty: 1/5 ******************************************************************************* Bowser Jr. will leap into the next room and put up a stone which will block you from getting to him. Bowser will then drop from above. If you're in Flower Power mode or have a flower power as an item, use it now. 10 fire bolts will end Bowser before he has a chance at you. If not, you have to attack Bower from above by jumping on his head. After a couple of hits, he will fall into the fire below. Once he does, they will show Bowser "dying". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hit the switch block and the stone wall will come down. In the next room you will see Bower Jr. and Peach. Bowser will grab her and run into World Two. You will give chase and end up in World 2. _______ _______ / \ -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- / \ | | | | \ _____ / 06.B. WORLD 2 \ _____ / | | | | | | | | |_____| -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- |_____| Once you've beaten Bowser and you're ready to start World 2, save your game. Once you're ready, walk forward onto the red circle. Press the "A" button and the next zone will begin. ********** World 2-1 ********** As the level begins move ahead to the right and break the two "?" blocks to get the coin and the mushroom/flower power. If you're flower power Mario, break down the worm's body parts piece by piece. If not, try to leap above it in order to get past it. On the other side, walk forward and collect the coins. Break the three bricks for some coins and then walk forward. After walking a couple of paces you will come to the next worm. Try to break it down if you're in flower power mode but if not leap above it and try to jump past it using the smile blocks. Past the worm leap onto the ledge and move to the right getting the coins. Grab the star coin and then break down the worm piece by piece or leap over it. Leap onto the ledge and then drop down onto the flat land. To the right is another worm so break it down and kill it or try to jump over it using the lift. Leap onto the high ledge and then you'll come to another worm. Break it down piece by piece or when the lift the worm's on goes down leap across the gap. Repeat the step on the next ledge. After leaping across the gap jump onto the hanging wall and you'll land on a small ledge. Kill the worm slowly as it comes down from the lift it's on. Once the worm has been dealt with or is up in the air on the lift, leap across and grab the star coin. Once you land on the other side, kill the worm two lifts over or leap onto the first lift and leap over it. On the other ledge to the right of the worm you will hit the halfway point in the zone. Over here, drop down and hit all four "?" blocks. The first three are coins but the final "?" block is a mushroom/flower power. After you've broken the "?" blocks, jump onto the small incline and then leap across the gap onto a ledge. From the ledge kill the worm with firebolts or try to leap over it to the moving ledge. Once the ledge stops on the right, leap off onto one of the small towers below. From the tower, leap to the right onto the ledge in the air. From the ledge leap onto the big tower. On the big tower, fire at the worm or get a dash start and leap over the worm onto the other side. Once you have killed or dodged this worm, leap onto one of the ledges and grab the star coin. To your right is another troublesome worm so either kill it or leap onto the ledge above and leap over it to the other side. On here you will be on two towers. Drop down and then leap onto one of the lifts going up. Wait for it to hit the top and then leap onto one of the lifts going down. Try to get as high a jumping point as possible when the worm's lift is down. Leap across and run into the pipe. When you come out of the pipe, break the two "?" blocks and the brick. The brick will have a switch block. Once you hit it, leap onto the brick sticking out above. Leap up and then jump across the gap and ignore the worm below underneath the raised up bricks. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 2-2 ********** As the level begins drop down off the ledge where you'll come to an area of pipes and standing red koopas. Kill all three koopas by jumping from pipe to pipe and then get the mushroom/flower power underneath them. Once you're done, leap across the gap and jump onto the ledge. In the sky, a Lakitu will come charging forth. These guys throw fire balls from their clouds. If one of them gets you it will take away the Mario you have and reduce it by a level. Therefore, if you're regular Mario, you're toast. The best thing to do in this level is just to speed across and try dodging all of the fireballs. Drop down and try to get the coins above. Keep running and leap across the gap. On the other side, leap up, down, and across the ledge. Over here leap up and over to the right and continue running. Eventually, drop down onto flat ground in an area similar to one we saw at the first point in the zone. Speed across it getting a running start and then jump over the gap and pipe onto a rock layer. Jump off the rock layer and run across the bridge of bricks. Leap over the pipe and onto flat ground again. Over hear, leap up onto the bricks and "?" blocks and run across the bridge. Once you've reached the other side of the bridge, jump down onto flat ground where you'll reach the halfway point in the level. Here, run to the right and over the wide gap. Jump up onto the rock layer and quickly grab the mushroom/flower power. Here you have a good chance of killing the Lakitu. Jump above it and then land on its head. If you don't think you have a shot at getting him, then jump down off to the right. Over here you will be in an area of bricks. Don't worry about them and leap over onto the pink and green pipes. Leap off to the right onto the swaying red mushroom. If you killed the Lakitu before, another one will come soaring toward you. Quickly get off of the mushroom and back onto solid ground. Leap to the right and onto another swaying mushroom. Run past the halfway point of the bridge and you will see the Lakitu disappear. Look ahead and you will see the flagpole. Run to the end of the bridge and when it is raised up on your side, leap across. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 2-3 ********** Once the zone begins, walk over to the right and jump on the rock layer. Jump onto the pipe to the right and then sink down into it. Here, you will be in a diagonal tunnel. Jump up as much as you can and try to get a crawling green koopa. Fire it's shell down which should take out the storm of koopas coming your way. Continue on down and you will be dropped down into a new, open room. Walk over to the right and up the hill. Up here, break the three "?" boxes grabbing the three coins. Once that's taken care of, continue on to the right and jump onto the small platform. Pile drive it and the platform will spin sending you down. Down here, run down the hill and make your way left. A lever will open up allowing you to move on. (Kind of like one of those poles on the Mass. Pike, eh?) Over here grab the mushroom/flower power and walk on. From above that blue bat will fly down. Fireball it or jump on it before continuing on. After the blue bat is killed, leap over the gap to the right. Over here, you will come to another small platform. Pile drive it, and it will shoot you down two of the platforms. On the third, pile drive it again sending you down even more. When you land, continue on right until you come to two levels. Walk toward the one on the right and it will go down. Over here, firebolt the piranha plant or leap over it using the levers. Above it, grab the star coin if you can. On the other side, go to the lever on the right and it will drop you down. Continue on right and you'll pass through to a new area. Walk forward and you will pass the halfway point in the zone. Over here, drop down the diagonal tunnel until you reach the bottom. On the new ground, walk to the right and leap above the ledge. Hit the switch block and the whole area will become submerged in water. Continue on to the right and grab the coins. Using the water, get to the right side where you'll see the arrow pointing right. Before the water comes down and the level goes back to normal get on that ledge or you'll have to hit the switch block again and repeat the step. When you come out into the new area, walk forward and drop down where you'll see a huge piranha plant. Firebolt it a couple of times and it will be killed. If you don't have a Flower Power Mario, just run into it and continue on taking the blow. If you're normal Mario, try to leap over it onto the other side. On the other side, continue winding your way right. When you come to a fork, go straight and you'll come to two "?" boxes. The one on the left contains a coin and the one on the right has a mushroom/flower power. Head back out to the left and leap onto the tunnel. Continue up until you reach the top. On the right, continue leaping up from ledge to ledge and then jump up onto ground through the spinning platform. Up here, continue right and the level will drop. Over here, flower power the plant or just try to get a running start and leap right across onto the ledge with the arrow. After the plant is dealt with, leap from where it was onto the ledge and then run right following the arrow. When you come out, you will see a flagpole. Leap from the horizontal pipe. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 2-4 ********** As the level begins, walk to the right and kill the gooba. Leap up onto the ledge and hit the switch block. The land will quickly rise up so as soon as you hit the block, leap to the right. On the hilled land, break the three "?" blocks. The middle one will have a mushroom and the two ends contain coins. Once you get everything, head right. Leap onto the platform to the right and then onto the square of bricks. Leap across the gap to the right and kill the two oncoming green koopas. Break the bricks and "?" blocks here if you want to, but the only think in the blocks are coins. Once you're done, drop down and kill the koopa. Leap onto the small log and jump across the gap to the other side. Over here, kill the flying red koopa and then leap up onto the ledge where the red koopa is. Kill the koopa and then jump onto the ledge above. Either kill the plant with a firebolt or drop down once it's in the pipe. Continue dropping on down onto a pipe where you'll see water. Leap into the water and swim to the right onto a ledge above water. Hit the switch block and a bunch of coins will come up. Quickly collect them all and then jump off of the ledge over to the right and climb the stairs. Watch out for the goobas coming down. At the top, go past the plant in the pipe and continue on to the right. Continue climbing up the steps and dodging the plant. At the top, leap to the right onto a bridge. Kill the two standing red koopas and then continue on eastward. Leap onto the ledge and run across where you will drop down. Kill the gooba with wings and then drop down onto flat ground. Walk across and then drop down again. Over here, break the "?" block and pick up a mushroom/flower power. Here you will have reached the halfway point in the zone. Continue on and either kill or leap over the piranha plant. Grab the coin and kill the gooba with wings and then you will come to another piranha plant. Kill it, or leap over it as you continue on to the right. Once all of the enemies in this stretch of land have been dealt with, stop and head back to the left. Over here near the "?" block, break the brick and a switch block will appear. Jump on it and the land to your right will rise up. Leap onto the hill and then run across and leap. You will then land on another hill which has been raised up after you jumped on the switch block. From the hill, leap onto the ledge here and then continue on to the right. Drop down where you will come face to face with some of the most annoying enemies in the game and past Mario games...Hammer Bros. Kill them by leaping up and breaking the brick that they are standing on, or blast them with fire bolts. Once the two of those have been dealt with, grab the star coin in between the two rows of bricks. Break the two "?" blocks for some coins and then continue on. Moving on, jump onto the ledge and kill the standing red koopa. Leap across the gap onto a land with stairs of rocks. Coming down will be a standing green koopa. Kill that, and then climb to the top of the stairs. Leap across the gap and when you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ************** World 2- ^^^ ||| ||| ************** As the tower zone begins, walk to the right and leap onto the ledge collecting the coins. From here, leap onto one of the ledges of the spinning wheel to the right. When the wheel spins to the bottom right, leap onto the connected two ledges. From here, leap onto a ledge of the next spinning wheel. Wait until the wheel spins all the way around to the top, and then leap on top of the three connected "?" blocks. On here, leap up onto one of the ledges of the above spinning wheel. Once the wheel spins around to the left, leap off onto a wide ledge. On here, nail the Drybones and then leap onto the rock structure to the ledge. On the rock structure, leap above onto the rope and climb across to another area. Jump up using the ledge where you will come to flat ground. From here, leap up onto one of the ledges of the spinning wheels above. Once the spinning wheel spins all the way up to the top, leap up onto another rope. Continue shifting across the rope until you come to a red ring. Once you hit it, the 8 coins will appear below you on the spinning wheel. Hop onto one of the ledges and get each coin as you continue spinning. Once you've collected all 8, you will receive a mushroom/flower power. Once that's done, wait until the spinning wheel spins enough so that you are in the northeast. Leap to the right and onto a ledge. Drop down and then use the spring to get yourself into the pipe. Also hold the upper button of the D-Pad to get you through here. When you come out, leap off of the pipe to the right. Once you do this, you will have hit the halfway point in the level. Once you've hit the marker, you will see a "?" block. Break it and you will get another mushroom/flower power. Continue on right, and leap onto the rotating blocks to get to the right. Jump on them when the ledges on them are lying flat or else you'll just fall down. Over here, hit the mini block which will activate a big block. Jump across all three blocks and you will land on a small ledge. From here, leap up twice and you'll come to a row of rock. Run across to the right and kill the two Drybones. On the right, break the mini block which will activate two more blocks. Leap onto the first, and then over to the second. On the second one, leap up once if you have to just to get the pannel straight. Leap up, and press the D-Pad up and the pipe will suck you up. When you come out, drop down to the right and go through the door. ******************************************************************************* Mini Boss #2 Bowser Jr. Difficulty: 1.5/5 ******************************************************************************* This mini boss fight with Bower Jr. is still quite simple yet a little harder than the first. In it, you and Bowser Jr. will be on a small ledge which you cannot jump off of. In the beginning, Bower Jr. will come running at you. Dodge him, and then jump on his head. He will then go into his shell mode. Do not leap on him when he is under his shell or else you will drop down a Mario level, or have to start over again from the halfway point. Once he's out of his shell, he will be standing there for a little while before coming after you. Jump up and then hit him from above. This will then kill him (Only after two hits)! Bowser Jr. will then jump out of the tower and run into the castle with Peach. ********** World 2-5 ********** As the zone begins, walk forward and ground pound the three "?" blocks. The first two will have coins and the third contains a mushroom/flower power. Continue on and ground pound the bricks and "?" block to get a coin. These will be called brick-block towers from now on. Break all three brick-block towers here and then continue on. Once the three towers, have been dealt with, you will come to a brick-block enemy. These guys are like towers but have an enemy inside of them. They jump on you from above, so make sure you groundpound them before they kill you. After the brick-block enemy has been killed a mushroom/flower power will be released from the "?" block under it. After you pick up the item, continue on and kill or avoid the red shell. Up ahead are two brick-block enemies so watch out. When you're trying to kill one, the other may jump on top of you. If possible, avoid these guys and continue on. Up ahead, leap onto the structure and kill the brick-block enemy. Watch out for the shell and jump over onto a small rock to the right. Continue climbing up the rocks and when you get to the top kill the brick-block enemy. Jump onto the big rock to the right and collect the coins above your head. Drop down and continue on. Over to the right, jump up onto another rock and kill the brick-block enemy. Continue on by jumping across onto the big rock and dropping down. On this small ledge will be a brick-block enemy so handle it and the "?" block below it will give you a mushroom/flower power. Once you've become your new Mario form, drop down. Once you are finally on solid ground, leap onto the green block to a second green block on the right. Break the "?" block and you will receive a mushroom/flower power. Here you will have reached the halfway point in the zone. Drop down and grab the two coins, then leap onto the small rock. Avoid the fire worm that will come toward you and leap onto a green block structure. Avoid the brick-block enemy and drop down back onto solid ground. Leap onto a small rock and jump across the gap to the other side. Continue forward and avoid the fire worm. Leap up onto a ledge and you will see a brick-block enemy. Kill it and then continue on to the right. Climb to the top of the green block structure and grab the coins. Drop down onto solid ground and then leap across the gap onto a big rock. Leap onto the lift and wait until it ascends next to the ledge. Step off and then jump over the sandpit onto a ledge. Here you will see your first boomerang bro. of the game. These guys have two boomerangs which they fire at you. Once both have been released, jump on their head to dispose of them, or simply leap over it continuing on. Watch out for the boomerangs, as they come flying back just like with the ones we have here. On the other side of the hammer bro., jump up below the pipe and hold up on the D-Pad. The pipe will suck you up. When you come out, continue right and drop down. Watch out for the brick-block enemy. Don't kill it when you see it. Land on it, and when it leaps up in the air, leap to the right. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 2-6 ********** As the level begins, leap across the gap and land on the pipes. Leap across the gap and onto a ledge. Grab the two coins inside of the "?" blocks and then continue right. Once you're at the end of the ledge, jump into the pipe and it will suck you up. When you land, walk forward and you will land onto a lift. The lift will then begin to move to the right. Stay on the lift and grab the 6 coins above you. After this, get the two coins, and break the "?" block on the right to get a mushroom/flower power. Having Fire Bolt Mario in this level is key. As the lift continues on, stay where you are as you pass over the two piranha plants. As the lift moves further right, a piranha plant will then land on your lift. Stay away from it to the left. As the lift keeps moving, grab the three coins above you. Break the three "?" blocks to get three coins. As the lift continues chugging along, another piranha plant will land on the left. Stay in the middle and they won't get you. Soon, you will see a pipe. Duck down and avoid the piranha plant. As it goes to the right, grab the coins, and the plant on the right will be taken off the lift by a smaller lift. Walk to the right side of the lift and jump up to get the star coin. Continue on along and another plant will land on the right side. Up ahead, there will be another lift above you. Leap onto it and get the mushroom/flower power if you can. The plant on the right will then be risen up to where you are, so stay away from it. As the lift continues on, leap to the top one, and below you will see a gigantic plant on a smaller lift below. Don't worry about it for now, and walk forward as the lift continues on. Soon enough, you will start to see the lift get shorter and shorter. Leap off of it onto one of the platforms moving up and down. Continue leaping from platform to platform. On the third one in, grab the star coin and then continue leaping from platform to platform. At the end of all the platforms will be a rock structure. Leap onto it and then drop down. Here you will see an air pumper. Keep jumping on the pumper until the block inside of the pipe is ejected out. Once the block it out, go over to the pipe, and sink down through it. When you come out, leap across the gap onto another platform. Run across and leap over the plant onto the third platform or just kill the plant if you're Flower Power Mario. On the third platform, run across it and leap across the gap. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ***************** World 2-^.......^ ||..~..|| ||./o\.|| ****************** As the level begins, stand still as the huge spike boulder crashes down and falls through the gap. After this, leap across the gap and onto a ledge of rock. Break the "?" block for a coin and then grab the three coins as you leap across the gap to the right. Over to the right, wait until the spike boulder comes and then jump over it. Continue on and break the "?" block for a mushroom/flower power. Once you have this, jump over the spike boulder and continue on. Over to the right, step down once the spike boulder has gone to the other side. Break the two "?" blocks for two coins and then hop up onto a ledge. On the right, leap onto the rope and jump to the right once the rope has swung over in that direction. Over here grab the coins and then leap across the gap to the right. When you land, wait for the spike boulder to pass and then break the "?" blocks. The two ends contain coins and the middle one has a mushroom/flower power for you. Once you've grown to your new Mario level, continue on. At the first gap in the floor, duck down and wait for the spike boulder to pass over you. Once it has, continue on to the right. At the second gap in the floor, drop down again and wait for the spike boulder to pass over you. After it has, continue on and jump up onto the row of rocks. Below, a spike boulder will go by. Once it has, drop down to the right and continue on. Over here, drop down and walk across the floor. At the end, leap to the right over a gap onto another ledge. Hop up the two ledges and enter the door before a spike boulder comes. When you enter the door, you will come out in a new area. Walk forward to the right and you will have reached the halfway point in the zone. Ahead, you will see a rocket coming for you. Leap over it, or duck down but continue on. I'm sure you remember these machines from the old Super Mario Bros. versions. These machines spit out rockets and if they hit you, your Mario level will decrease by one. To destroy them, you must jump on them. Up ahead, break the two "?" blocks. One will have a coin, but the other contains a mushroom/flower power. Up ahead, you will see even more machines. Go through the mosh pit here and dodge all of the rockets that come after you. Over to the right, you will be on a ledge with a switch block. Hit it, and the land below you will sink down. Drop down and be careful of the rockets. Leap across the gap avoiding the spike boulder and climb up the other side. When you come up, continue on and you will see an area below with a giant spike boulder. Leap onto the rope above and jump off of it to the right avoiding the spike boulder. On the other end, drop down and head under to the end of the rock. Wait for the spike boulder to drop into the gap and then leap across the gap onto the other side. Climb up the rocks like steps and avoid the spike boulders. Ahead you will see a bridge. Leap over the spike boulder and continue across it. Leap up onto a ledge and continue across it. Avoid the dormant spike boulder, and on the right you will see a switch block. Hit it, and the land will sink down as before. The door will appear and the spike boulder will begin swinging from left to right. Once the spike boulder is moving toward the left drop down and quickly enter the door. On the other side, continue to the right and you will come to a small area. The pillars will appear and Bower Jr will be there. He'll get out of the way, and a giant worm will appear. ******************************************************************************* End of World Boss Giant Worm Difficulty: 1.5/5 ******************************************************************************* This worm is like the ones we saw in the first zone of world 2 except it's a little better at dodging your attacks and it moves around a little bit more. As soon as it comes out, leap onto its head. It is still getting its surroundings when it first comes out so strike it early and quickly. Once you get the first hit in, it will sink down and then appear on your left. Once it appears on your left, wait for it to come down a tad and then jump on it's head killing it. This boss (As with the mini boss for World 2) only takes two hits to kill so it isn't that challenging. It's only attack move is shooting out little silver balls so make sure you watch out for those. If you strike it quick enough, it shouldn't even have the chance to fire one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once the giant worm has been defeated, you will receive a key. The pillars will then be knocked down and over on the right you will see Bowser Jr. and Peach. Bowser Jr. will run across the end of World 2 and into World 3. Sink below the pipe and you will come out underwater. Swim forward to the right and break the three "?" blocks which all have coins. Swim in a northeast direction and grab all of the coins. Watch out for the huge fish above. Continue on right and sink down avoiding all of the little fish. Break the "?" block for a coin and then swim in a northeast direction. Up here you will see a red circle. Swim through it and then swim in a southeast direction and get all of the red coins. If you do this, you will receive a mushroom/flower power. Continue on to the right and swim up. Don't go for the coins below because near them are a school of fish. Keep swimming right and you will hit the halfway marker in the level. Once you've gone past the marker, grab the coins in the bubbles and break the slot of star/mushroom/flower power/blue shell. Continue on to the right and avoid the fish. Near a pipe, you will see a big purple fish. Swim towards the top or else the fish will catch up to you and eat you. Continue swimming to the right and grab the two coins in the bubbles. On the right, grab the four coins and then swim to the top and get the star coin in the middle of the two pipes. Continue swimming forward and getting away from the purple fish which will continue chasing after you. Up ahead, swim under the bricks and then hit the switch block. All the bricks will then turn to coins. Grab as many coins as you want until the first appears. Once you see the fish, continue swimming to the right and then swim up to get the star coin. Make sure that you're keeping some distance between you and the fish and then continue on. Once you begin swimming again, grab the multiple coins in bubbles and then you will see another red circle. Swim through it, and 8 red coins will appear. Try to get them all before you see the fish. If the fish comes into view before you finish getting them, don't worry about it and continue on. Over to the right, you will see a pipe. Quickly go to it and then have the pipe suck you up. When you come out, leap to the right onto two blocks. Run across the blocks and leap to the right. Break the "?" block ahead and collect the mushroom/flower power. Once that's been taken care of, walk over to the right and break the "?" block to receive the coin. After that, jump off of the mushroom onto the ledge to the right. Leap onto the next level and jump off onto another swaying mushroom. Kill the standing red koopa and the gooba. On the right of the mushroom, jump off, grab the two coins, and land on a next swaying mushroom. On the next mushroom, kill the standing red koopa and then the three goobas. Collect the coins and then jump off of the swaying mushroom off onto another ledge. On here, kill the two oncoming goobas and then continue on right. On the right, break the three bricks for coins and then leap onto them from the ledge. On the bricks, jump in a northeast direction onto another ledge. On the ledge, leap onto the balancer and then leap to the other side. From the right balance platform, leap onto another ledge above. Kill the oncoming gooba and then walk forward where you will hit the halfway marker in the zone. Once you've killed the gooba, leap onto the pipe and drop down. Kill the two oncoming goobas and then break the two "?" blocks. The one on the left contains a mushroom/flower power and the one on the right contains a coin. Once you've broken both of them continue on to the right. Jump onto the pipe and then leap across the gap onto the balancer. Quickly leap from balancer platform to balancer platform until you see the ledge. Leap off of the balancer onto the structure and then continue onto the right. On the end of the ledge, leap onto the mushroom. The mushroom will turn into a roller coaster ride and carry you across. Make sure you stay in the middle or you could risk falling off. Once the mushroom has dropped you off, leap onto the balancer and run through the red coin. Jump from balancer platform to the next collecting the red coins. By the time you have gotten the 8th coin, the balancer ride will be over and you will receive a mushroom/flower power. After this, step onto the mushroom to the right. This one is another roller coaster ride, so be careful. This time, you will see two flying green koopas so kill them both while trying to stay in the middle. At the end of the ride, leap off onto the two blocks. Run across the blocks and then leap to the right. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Go through the door here and you will come out into a new area. In the new area, leap up onto the fence above. Continue climbing up to the top. Continue climbing up the fences above to the left. There will be many red and green koopas to dodge, but it's pretty much the same story from fence to fence. On the 5th fence up, leap to the northeast onto a small structure of blocks. Go through the door here and you will come out to a new area. In this new area, walk over to the right and onto the block. Leap to the northwest, and continue to the left. Once it pops back up, hit it again early on. If you let him run around for a couple of seconds, he will begin to dodge your attacks. Once the second hit has been inflicted, Bowser Jr. will go into shell mode once more. Don't attack it just as with the first time. Once it comes out from under it's shell, hit it once more and the battle will be over. Bowser Jr. will run off with Princess Peach into the castle of World 3. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After you beat him, you'll get your EXP. Swim up avoiding the blooper, and then swim over to the right going through the pipes. When you sink down onto a small brick-shaped rock, you will have reached the halfway point in the zone. From the rock, continue heading south and run through the red circle. 8 red coins will appear in a circle mixed in with regular coins. Swim quickly around the circle and try to collect all of the red coins before the vanish. If you do, you will receive a prize. After this, swim to the right. Swim in a northeast direction going up the row of pipes. (Cingular should use these pipes in their cell phone service commercials). Grab the coins on the right, and then you will be shot to the right by the currents. Over here, let the currents zig-zag you down to an area below. Grab the star coin and then quickly swim up. When you grab the coin, four bloopers will come out of no where. Once you've gotten the star coin, let the currents zig-zag you all the way to the top again. When you're up here, go up through the pipe that the arrow is pointing to. When you come out, you will be on top of a pipe. Once it's up in the air, leap onto the bridge above, and then jump off to the right onto a ledge. Drop down and jump on the dry bones. Once the spike pole has gone down on the right, leap across the gap and onto the two squares. You will only have a small amount of time before the squares fall down under you, so jump to the right as soon as the spike pole has risen. On the ledge to the right, break the "?" block which contains a mushroom/flower power. Walk forward to the right and you will have reached the halfway marker in the zone. Over to the right, you will see a thwamp. Wait until it falls forward, and then leap onto its back and across. When you come to the next twamp, do the same. On the right of the two thwamps, you will see an area of spikes, and a twamp. Wait until it falls forward, and then leap down onto its back. Quickly run across its back and onto the pole to the right. Climb up it and then jump off to the right onto a ledge. Drop down off of the ledge and into the water. Keep taping the "A" button to keep yourself afloat. The thwamp will fall down creating a bridge. Swim to the ledge, leap onto the bridge and then jump across the gap onto the thwamp's back. Continue onto the right and drop down onto a new ledge. Once you see the spike pole go into the water on the right, leap onto the two squares above the water. Quickly leap off onto a ledge to the right and break the "?" block. Pick up a new (And probably needed) mushroom/flower power. Look forward to the right and when the spike pole is raised, run across and onto one of the two gray rocks. Once the spike pole to the right has risen and the second one to the right has gone down, run under the first and then leap across the gap on the second. Wait until the spike poles move up or down and then continue on. On the last spike pole, wait until it has gone down and then leap across onto the gap to the right. Don't jump to high or you'll land on the small bridge and lose a life once the spike pole has ascended. On the right, go through the door where we'll meet the boss. ******************************************************************************* End of World Boss Cheepskipper Difficulty: 3.5/5 ******************************************************************************* This boss is easily the hardest boss you've had to face in the game so far. Once you see Bowser Jr., he'll leap to the right and the pillars will come down. A huge cheepskipper will swim in with three cheap-cheaps following right behind. As soon as they swim in, the battle will begin. My strategy for this boss is not to worry about the cheap-cheaps. They're small and easy to dodge. Plus, killing them won't win you the fight. The cheepskipper is the one who you're going to want to aim your attacks towards. It takes three hits to kill it. Once you see it moving towards the top of the water, that's usually a sign that he's going to jump. When you see this, begin to jump in the air, and he should pop out. Jump on it from above and that will be one hit. Continue to dodge the cheap-cheaps and then follow the same directions twice. Once the cheepskipper has been hit three times, a key will appear. Grab it, and the pillars will break down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the next room, you will see Bowser Jr. and Peach. They will run across the land and into the tower of World 5. You'll give chase and end up in the Ice Land of World 5. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ _______ _______ / \ -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- / \ | | | | \ _____ / 06.D. On the next land, kill the three Scuttlebugs, leap onto the platform and jump across the gap to the other side of the land collecting a few coins as you go. On the next land, kill the Gooba and the Koopa. Fire the red Koopa shell to the right taking out the Scuttlebug. Break all the "?" boxes collecting three coins and another mushroom. Leap across the gap onto a small platform collecting two coins, and then leap across to another small platform collecting two more coins. On this platform, kill the Koopa and fire its shell to the right killing the Scuttlebug. Leap across the gap onto another platform and kill the Koopa. Leap across the next gap onto the Scuttlebug and collect the Star Coin. In the next area, break the three boxes and kill the Koopa. Leap across the gap killing another Scuttlebug and on the next land platform, kill the Koopa. Drop down and hop on our old friend Nessie and you will have reached the halfway marker in the zone. Leap over the gap to the right where you will land on a green platform. Continue to the right to the edge of the platform and leap across the gap onto another purple swaying platform, killing the flying Koopa. Hurry over to the right and you will see a Red Ring. Run through it and the eight red coins will appear. Collect all 8 coins by running across and then dropping down snagging the rest of them on a level platform. Upon collection of the eight red coins, you will receive an item. From here, leap up onto the swaying purple platform and hop across the gap killing the flying Koopa. Continue up the stairs and hop onto a platform, killing a Red Shelled Koopa. Hop down onto the swaying purple platform and hop across the gap onto a red platform. Here, kill the Red Shelled Koopa and hop up onto another purple swaying platform. Hop down onto the green platform and grab the two coins. Leap across the gap to the right onto a purple swaying platform and hop across the gap onto another purple swaying platform. When you come to the platform with the Red Shelled Koopa, kill it and hop up onto the next purple swaying platform. Head to the end of this platform and leap to the right. When you leap you will land on the flagpole. Slide down and get your EXP. Once you finish, Mario will take a bow and the zone will end. On the map, a new circle will become available. Walk forward and press the "A" button. The next zone will begin. ********** World 4-3 ********** As the zone begins, drop down the grass steps and hop onto the Warp Pipe. Drop down into the Warp Pipe and you will come out underwater. When you're underwater, swim to the right and break the two "?" blocks both containing coins. Avoid the Cheep-Cheeps and swim down as far as you can go, avoiding the Mega Unagi. Continue swimming along grabbing as many coins as you can and then swim between the two rock structures at the top of the screen. Quickly swim down and to the left where you can grab the Star Coin. From here, swim as high as you can go as to avoid another Mega Unagi that is coming through. Up here, you will find a Red Ring. Swim through it and grab all eight coins that appear. Upon snagging all of these coins, you will receive an item. Continue swimming to the right and pass through the two rock structures. On the other side, you will have reached the halfway marker in the zone. Break the "?" box for a mushroom and swim as far down as you can to avoid another Mega Unagi. Once it has swam through, drop down in between the rock structures and grab the Star Coin. Make sure to avoid the Unagi's here and then continue swimming to the right. Grab as many coins as you can and avoid the Cheep-Cheeps. Up ahead, hit the switch to stop the flow of bubbles from the underwater Warp Pipes and then swim as fast as you can to the lower half of the screen to avoid another Mega Unagi. Continue swimming to the right and swim over the rock structure in the middle of the screen. Continue swimming at a high elevation to avoid yet another Mega Unagi. Avoid the Cheep-Cheep and swim around the rock structure collecting eight coins. Swim over to the right and swim up collecting many coins while avoiding the Unagis. Swim over to the right and avoid the Cheep-Cheep. You will see a Warp Pipe so go over and Warp yourself back out of the water. The next zone will begin. ************** World 4- ^^^ ||| ||| ************** Upon starting the zone, leap to the right onto the ledge and take out the Drybones. Wait for the stone pillars to open and hop onto the bottom one. They will begin to close, pillar by pillar so continue hopping up until you have reached a new area at the top of the pillars. Up here on the left, break the "?" box for a mushroom and then hop across the gap to the right and go through the door. In this new room, leap up the two ledges onto the right and hop onto the fence. Continue climbing as high and as fast as you can because the fire below will continue rising. Once you've climbed fairly high, you will come to an area with two vertical pillars with spikes on the end. Wait until the pillar is raised and go under it. Collect the coins and break the "?" block for a mushroom. Wait until the next pillar is raised and continue under leaping up onto another fence. Climb all the way up and drop down over to the left and you will have reached the halfway point in the zone. Take out the Drybones and hop onto another fence to the left. Wait for the large, horizontal pillar to go inside the wall structure and leap up onto another fence. Drop over to the right, take out the Drybones and wait for the fast-moving, horizontal pillar to go all the way over to the left. Quickly leap onto the ledge and hop up onto another fence. Continue climbing up fences and avoiding pillars and you will see a Red Circle. Walk through it and eight Red Coins will appear. Try to collect them as quickly as possible but if you can't get all the coins on time it won't hinder you but if you're able to snag all eight coins you'll receive an item. Hop up onto another fence and then leap up onto one last fence. At the top, hop off on the ledge to the right and go through the door. In this new area, you will meet up with Bowser Jr. once more. ******************************************************************************* Mini Boss #4 Bowser Jr. Difficulty: 2.5/5 ******************************************************************************* This Bowser Jr. fight is a little different than the other fights. Instead of just attacking Bowser Jr. head on by jumping on him, here if you try that attack he will go into his rock hard shell causing you damage. So, instead, you have to avoid Bowser Jr. as he comes charging at you and get him frustrated. Once he gets angry enough he will throw a green Koopa shell at you. You must hop onto this Koopa shell stopping its momentum and then fire it back the other way towards Bowser Jr. This will cause Bowser Jr. to fall over on his back. When he is stunned, quickly leap on his stomach causing him damage. You can only attack him once at a time but only three times are needed to defeat him. Be careful however, because the speed in which Bowser Jr. throws his Koopa shells gradually increases as he receives more hits. Even though this Mini Boss fight is a little different than previous ones it still is rather simple to defeat. At the end of the fight, Bowser Jr. will run off. ********** World 4-4 ********** As the zone begins, break the two “?” blocks for two coins and kill the oncoming Gooba. Ascend the steps and ignore the Worm. Break the “?” block for a Mushroom. Continue to the right, grab the three coins, drop down the platform, and kill the Red Koopa. Leap across the gap collecting three more coins. Drop down, break the “?” block for a coin. Avoiding both Worms, leap across the gap onto another platform. On this new level, hop through the Red Ring and eight Red Coins will appear. Use the worm to Super Jump up to the top layer of Red Coins, collecting all eight. After collecting the coins, you will receive an item. Afterwards, hop onto a new level and leap across the gap collecting three coins. Hop up onto a new level, avoid the Worm, and hop up onto another level killing the Red Koopa. Hop up onto a new level, hop across the gap collecting three coins, and kill another Red Koopa. Continue to the right and drop down the stairs onto the bridge. Avoid the Worm and continue quickly along the bridge. Jump across the gap and you will have reached the halfway point in the zone. After hitting the halfway marker in the zone, continue to the right and collect your item from the item box. Head back over to the left and break the “?” block revealing a beanstalk. Climb the beanstalk and drop down to the left. Avoid the Worm and break the “?” block, collecting a coin. Head back to the right of the beanstalk and kill the Red Koopa.
