Notifying me about any errors or corrections in this guide is also welcome no matter how small, even if it’s just a typo. Oh, and it’d be helpful putting the words ‘The World Ends With You’, ‘TWEWY’, ‘food guide’, or something like that so I can distinguish it from spam. X3 *If it's been a very long time since the last revision of this guide, I may not know the game as well anymore. In TWEWY, food is any item that you can insert into the slot under a character’s picture on the menu. Actually...you can try and insert any item into that slot but the best (and only) results come from the ones designed to be eaten. Foods you own are listed under the button with the fork and knife. To eat, simply drag the food with your stylus or whatever you use to the (should be) empty box under the character’s image. Food items are No. 281 to No. 322. ----- -Bytes ----- You see all those small squares under the character picture and yellow word ‘Food’? Well, there are a total of 24 squares, also known as ‘bytes’. Whenever your character eats something, these squares fill up (turn green, yellow, and red). For every battle you fight, each colored square will turn gray. If you fight a chain battle, the number of battles in the chain battle will equal the amount of colored squares that turn gray. When all of the colored squares turn gray, your character ‘digests’ the food and will be able to eat another food item. However, the gray squares will remain and if the food item exceeds the number of blank squares left, your character will not be able to eat it. Gray squares will disappear on a daily basis in real time. Note that SIX squares will ALWAYS remain, so as long as a food is 6 bytes or smaller, you can eat as much as you want. There is an exception (or two), to this. If you obtain the Konishi Sticker: Hollow Leg, colored squares will simply disappear instead of turning into gray squares and your character(s) can eat as much as they want (you still need to digest the food). This item is a quest item that requires 3x Scarletite. The store that sells this is ‘Real life solutions’ located in the Shibu-Q Heads department. The other way to get past this is to simply change your DS calendar date to the next. If your character is still eating something when the next day comes, the colored squares do not go away, only gray squares will. ----- -Food Effects ----- When any food item is eaten, it will raise the character’s Sync Rate by the percent or amount noted in the description. The higher the Sync Rate, the higher advantage your characters will have in battle. Sync Rate extends the time the light puck stays in battle. A high Sync Rate also makes the return speed rating of the light puck more lenient. When a food is fully digested, the character will gain the aftereffects. All of the aftereffects other than ones effecting Sync Rate, are permanent. The effects of food can boost your health points, attack power, defense, bravery, and even your drop rate. ----- -Character Tastes ----- All four characters, Neku, Shiki, Joshua, and Beat, have their own tastes! You can tell how much they like the food by their reactions and the increase in their Sync Rate. If a character likes what they eat, they get additional points or percentage added to their Sync Rate and if a character eats something they don’t like, they get less points or percentage added to their Sync Rate than what the description of the food item states. Each character’s reaction is listed below from what they like to what they don’t like. Their personal tastes will not affect foods’ aftereffects. Favorite: Sync Rate increase X 2 Good: Sync Rate increase X 1.5 Acceptable: Sync Rate increase X 1 Bad: Sync Rate increase X .75 Hate: Sync Rate increase X .5 If you still don’t understand, here’s an example: Let’s say a food item description says it boosts Sync Rate by 10%. If it is a character favorite, then the Sync Rate that is received is 2x or 20% instead of 10%. If the character thinks the food is good, the Sync Rate that is received is 1.5x or 15% instead of 10%. If it is just acceptable, the Sync Rate is 1x or just 10%. If the character doesn’t like the food, the Sync Rate is .75x or 7.5% instead of 10%. If the character hates the food, the Sync Rate is .5x or 5% instead of 10%. "That’s good." "Not bad." "It’s edible." "Gross!" "Augh, nas(ty)!" or "Augh, pass!" "It’s delicious!" "Soo yummy!" "Food’s food." "Eugh!" "You finish it." "Mmm...I’m in paradise." "Compliments to the chef." "It’ll have to do." "Whatever doesn’t kill me." "Nnn-no thank you." "It’s a party in my mouth!" "This is great!" "That hit the spot!" "Ugh! Barf!" "Ugh, take it away!" ----- Food Layout ----- All food is first categorized according to the item number.
