'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' 01=============================== quick notes ================================== This is a shorter version of my original walkthrough for Yggdra Union [GBA], now including new features from the PSP version. The original walkthrough was lost when my laptop crashed, unfortunately, but I managed to recover some of it, including the most important part, the credits! They've been added to the bottom of this document. This is all spoiler. Comments, edits, etc. should be sent to: shadowchaser91 (at) gmail (dot) com I'm not including directions on how to play, controls, etc. That can be found elsewhere and is pretty intuitive. The game also has its own tutorial that you can use. You should read the ENTIRE battlefield section that you're playing as you're choosing characters, equipping items, and such. There may be various strategies or obtainable items that require specific items or characters to be selected before you begin the battlefield. ** PSP VERSION ** Anything tagged [PSP] is only applicable to the PSP version. Note: Small changes in the PSP version won't be mentioned. Also, hidden values such as turns for MVP +2 may be different for the PSP version. ** Copyright ** Please don't post this on your site unless you have my permission, and give me credit if you're using something from this guide. In the PSP version, to get the MVP +2, you must use Flunky to attack the Bandit and move Milanor next to the Assassin after he wins. To do this all and get the Hair Band in your first turn, you have to use Steal, which has just enough movement to accomplish all this. And yes, Milanor still has invincibility status. * Win: Defeat all enemies * MVP +2: 4 turns -- Battlefield 2: Jaws of the Wolf [Part 1]------------------------------1.2.1-- Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[1] 1. Yggdra can get some nice EXP and MVP here. The enemy doesn't move, but attacks if you're next to them. * Advance: Defeat Inzaghi -- Battlefield 2: Jaws of the Wolf [Part 2] -----------------------------1.2.2-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[T] | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[V] * Enemies: Knight (x1) Leon GEN: 2 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 4800 Item: Phalanx [1]: [O] > Archers Knight (x6) Heavy Knight GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 1940 * Tactics: All knights have Invincibility status. Just have Yggdra and Milanor head straight up and get to Durant. With the awkward positioning of sword and spear units, expect to lose some fights on the Imperial turns. * Advance: Rendezvous with Durant (Move everyone next to Durant) -- Battlefield 3: West Orlando [Part 2] ---------------------------------1.3.2-- * Battle Map: [V]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[3] [2]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [V] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[B]-[ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[B]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [1] | | | | [ ] [ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | [V]-[ ]-[ ] [ ] [ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] 1. Trade: Fur -> Fur Coat 2. Discovery: Kokorinut 3. Discovery: Trap * Enemies: Witch (x1) Eudy GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 3700 Item: Ruby Staff [1]: Fire attack UP Witch (x3) Court Magician GEN: 1 | ATK: 1 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 1390 Knight (x3) Imperial Soldier GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 1450 Fencer (x2) Imperial Soldier GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 1240 * Tactics: It's hard to take down Eudy since she's carrying a staff, but do the best you can. I recommend Milanor first and Yggdra second so Yggdra will fight Eudy 6-5 for an advantage (and you should win 1-0). If you're planning to use Durant for the rest of the game, then place him on the bridge, obviously. * [PSP] Tactics: You almost have to use Durant in a 3-on-1 against Eudy here because of the changed battle system. It's possible to win with only Yggdra and Milanor if you put Milanor first and take advantage of Eudy's battle penalty and Yggdra's [O] Block counter, but be prepared to lose quite a bit of Morale. * Advance: Defeat all Enemies -- Battlefield 3: West Orlando [Part 3] ---------------------------------1.3.3-- * Enemies: Valkyrie (x1) Aegina GEN: 2 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 4100 Item: Flamberg [2]: [O] Fire attack UP Valkyrie (x3) Protective Guard GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 1350 * Tactics: Don't use Milanor for this unless you're going after Aegina's Flamberg. Yggdra's Void Holy is good, since it gives her quite a long time where she'll take virtually no damage except from smashes. If you are trying to get the Flamberg, keep Milanor third in formation but make sure he's the one to defeat Aegina. * [PSP] Tactics: New battle system means Milanor should be out of these fights entirely. Generally, battle status (red star, blue triangle, etc.) now outweighs attack stats. For example, an assassin by herself can come back from a 1-7 deficit against a witch because Bow > Staff (though she did have 6 ATK against the witch's 3, I believe, but that definitely wouldn't have been possible with GBA battle system). Anyway, the point is not to worry about the Flamberg now because you'll get another shot at it later. * Win: Defeat Aegina * MVP +2: 32 turns -- Battlefield 4: East Orlando [Part 1] ---------------------------------1.4.1-- * Battle Map: [ ] | [ ]-[ ] [V] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[B]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[F] | | | | [ ]-[1]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[V] 1. Discovery: Imperial Warfare 2 !. Discovery: Four Leaf Clover (Yggdra). Must be on a grass tile anywhere, any time of day. * Enemies Knight (x1) Garrison Captain GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 2470 Fencer (x3) Sentry GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 1410 * Tactics: Use the team to defeat a fencer in the fort and put Yggdra there for a bonus fighting status and she'll win fairly easily. However, if she fights on her own, she gets good EXP at the cost of only +1 MVP. * [PSP] Tactics: Note that the GEO effect calculation has changed. Units on fort tile have a 40% reduction of morale damage AFTER all other effects have been calculated, which makes closer battles deal more morale damage than before. Anyone can take down the knights, so large unions are the key to the MVP +2 here. * Advance: Gain control of East Stronghold 1 (Move an ally to East Stronghold 1) -- Battlefield 4: East Orlando [Part 2] ---------------------------------1.4.2-- * Battle Map: [ ] | [ ]-[ ] [V] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[B]-[1]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[F] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[F]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[1] | | | [ ]-[V] [ ] 1. Otherwise, do what you've been doing before and this should be pretty simple. * Win: Gain control of East Stronghold 3 (Move an ally to East Stronghold 3) * MVP +2: 18 turns < Chapter 2 - Lost Days 2.0 > -- Battlefield 5: Lorca Lakeside ------------------------------------------2.5-- * Battle Map: [V] | [ ]-[ ]-( ) ( )-( )-( ) | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-[ ]-[V]-( ) | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[V] * Enemies: Undine (x1) Ishiene GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 3600 Item: Ice Javelin [5]: [O] Ice attack UP Undine (x3) Undine GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 1500 * Tactics: To avoid the water bonus and 50% GEO effect, move Milanor to the bottom right tile below the Undine and attack from there. That'll move Ishiene out of water and onto the town on her next turn for a much easier victory. * Win: Defeat Ishiene * MVP +2: 7 turns -- Battlefield 6: Phelinas Lakeside [Part 1] ----------------------------2.6.1-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[V]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-( )-[2]-( ) | | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-[ ]-( ) | | | | | [ ]-( )-( )-[ ]-( ) | | | [ ]-( ) ( ) | [1] 1. In addition, if you want his item, you must defeat him on your turn and take the item before the undines steal it on their turn. They will also steal it if Ortega loses on his turn. Milanor should be targeting the undines, Yggdra against bandits. * Advance: Liberate Lake Town Velas (Move an ally to "Lake Town Velas") -- Battlefield 6: Phelinas Lakeside [Part 2] ----------------------------2.6.2-- * Battle Map 6.2: [ ]-[V]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-( )-[V]-( ) | | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-[ ]-( ) | | | | | [ ]-( )-( )-[3]-( ) | | | [ ]-( ) ( ) | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-[4]-( )-[V] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] 3. Otherwise, she'll join at the end but won't have the equip item. * Enemies: Assassin (x1) Zilva GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 2760 Item: Stell Persona [1]: [O] Evade Panic Assassin (x1) Elena GEN: 1 | ATK: 1 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 1930 Item: Gale Bow [1]: [O] Instant Charge Fencer (x3) Imperial Soldier GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 1140 * Tactics: The assassin team goes first. Remaining Undines join in the attack as well, so you can finish them off for their Medallions and EXP. Elena will never attack you on her own, but all other units will. Also, try to stay 2 tiles away from an Undine to make her come out of the water for easier combat. And don't fight the assassins at night. That's common sense. * Win: Defeat Zilva * MVP +2: 18 turns -- Battlefield 7: Elise, The Water Capital [Part 1] ---------------------2.7.1-- Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-( )-( )-( ) | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-( )-( )-( ) | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[V]-[ ] [ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ] * Enemies: Undine (x1) Ishiene GEN: 3 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 3940 Item: Brave Ring [2]: [O] Recover Morale when low Undine (x3) Undine GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 1500 * Tactics: The only time you'd want to have Yggdra in is if you want EXP or you're using Revolution with her. Other than that, use Milanor and Nietzsche. Hate Undines in Water because of the 50% GEO effect? Let the Undines use Diamond Dust and the water tiles will freeze to ice. Just be sure that your own units aren't on ice after you end your turn at night. * Advance: Secure the Bridge to Florand (Move an ally to "Bridge") -- Battlefield 7: Elise, The Water Capital [Part 2] ---------------------2.7.2-- * Battle Map: [V]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-( )-( )-( )-( )-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[V]-[ ] | | | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-( )-( )-( )-( )-( )-( )-[V]-[ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[V]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-( )-( ) | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] [1]-[ ]-( )-( )-(2) | | | | [ ] ( )-( )-( ) | | [ ]-[ ] [3] 1. Discovery: Aquarius 2. Discovery: Pretty Shell (Nietzsche only, not even another character walking over the ice can find it.) 3. Discovery: Elemina Mint (Nietzsche only) * Enemies: Undine (x1) Ishiene GEN: 3 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 4480 Item: Gungnir [4]: [O] Double A-Skill time Undine (x3) Undine GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 1670 Undine (x2) Undine GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 1500 * Tactics: No Yggdra, as usual, for Undine fights. Keep Milanor to the top left, though, for items in a second. Emelone isn't hard to take down, just takes a while. After your second turn of attacks, Mizer will appear. * [PSP] Tactics: Because of the 8 unit system and Yggdra's [O] Block Counter, you can't attack with Revolution and expect to win, so leave Yggdra out of this until she can attack from the Fort terrain. * More enemies: Hunter (x1) Mizer GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 4 | Morale: 3780 Item: Winged Sandals [2]: [-] GEO 0% Bandit (x1) Bounty Hunter GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 1 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 1460 * Tactics: Move Yggdra onto Fort terrain at the right and she can face the undines. If you kept Milanor top left, he needs to Steal Mizer's equip so you can get more equipment from Mizer later unless Milanor happens to have 4 LUK as well. Note: If the Bandit retreats, then Mizer attacks and he loses, Mizer will retreat too, no matter how much Morale he has left, so getting those Winged Sandals might be harder than it sounds. For all you Steal-happy users out there, note that you can't Steal the Gungnir if you also want the Winged Sandals (and other better items) from Mizer. So you'll just have to deal with Emelone's 3 GEN for now. * Win: Defeat Queen Emelone * MVP +2: 21 turns -- Battlefield 8: Black Rose Domain [Part 1] ----------------------------2.8.1-- * Battle Map: [V]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[A] | | | [ ] [ ] [ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[V]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | [V] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[V]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-( ) * Ally: Necromancer (x1) Roswell GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 4020 Item: Gargoyle Rod [3]: [O] Night Happy * Enemies: Witch (x1) Rosary GEN: 3 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 4 | Morale: 4640 Item: Lucky Broom [1]: [O] Drop rate 100% Golem (x2) GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 1 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 1740 * Tactics: Yggdra is [O] > Golem. If you take out the Golems before turn 7, Mizer will not appear. Also, Rosary will never attack on her own. * More enemies: Hunter (x1) Mizer GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 4140 Item: Tough Boots [1]: [O] Void Poison (effect and terrain) Bandit (x1) Bounty Hunter GEN: 1 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 1 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 1750 * Advance: Defeat All Golems -- Battlefield 8: Black Rose Domain [Part 2] ----------------------------2.8.2-- * Battle Map: [1]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[A] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ] [ ] | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[2]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[V]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-( ) 1. Russell has Morale Protect, so his Morale will always be 1 or more. After Roswell fires the Ankh, Russell won't have Morale Protect anymore. * [PSP] Tactics: Thunderbolt's Stun ability is a pain, since it stops you from moving. Nietzsche is good in water, so you can go for Rosary and include her in formation while she's in water. Roswell's Skeletons are asleep during the day, so they're easy 6-0 wins. Rosary seems harder because her assistant Witches are on +40% Fort terrain, whereas Roswell's assistant Necromancers are on Grass terrain, so no GEO. Good ways to win: Nietzsche + Water + Ice Javelin ([O] Ice attack UP) + Diamond Dust (Blizzard). Kick a White Rose Soldier or Black Rose Soldier out of their Fort area and move Yggdra there, since she's [O] Fort Happy. Milanor and 1 on 1 = win is good, but you might want to save that item for later. Durant is Road Happy, so keep him on the road for better results. If you want a challenge, more items, or both, then I suggest you (after choosing a house to attack) send Milanor to the OTHER house and stealing the equip item from over there and then getting the hell outta there! Be very careful if you're sending him down to Rosary's. If a Golem breaks out when Milanor is 1-2 tiles away from either bridge, then the bridge will break(!) and Milanor can't get back! Important: Note that the enemy does not start using their Ankh until a fight breaks out between a unit from one side against yours, so I suggest moving your units over to one side in formation before attacking, or you're going to get Ankhed-on early. Also, let the enemy attack first if you don't want to get hit by the Ankh. Not a huge deal, though. * Advance: Wait until mist covers the area (Turn 24) Right now, you have two choices: Either go the easy way, i.e. the way you're supposed to go and not engage in any more enemies, OR face Baldus and Aegina. You have to face them both at the same time, because you'll run out of cards if you don't, which means you'll need to split up your forces and that makes them weaker. However, it's not impossible... Numbers used in the Tactics Summary below. * Tactics: It's hard, but it's possible! You should have prepared this before you started this battlefield. Milanor should have Kill Blade equipped. Yggdra should have Mage Ring or some other good equipment. Durant can have whatever, as long as it raises his stats. Phalanx is good when you put him against the Hunters or Assassins. Nietzsche should have Icicle Spear if you have Diamond Dust as well. That is Overkill (literally) against Griffon Riders, who are [X] < Ice, so you auto-win, and Fatal Damage against all other units. And all of your units should have their morale close to max. Move Milanor and Rosary/Roswell toward the left and Yggdra and Durant/Nietzsche to the right. Don't engage the enemy until you've moved Yggdra's team up towards Aegina's party and Milanor's team toward Baldus. Put Yggdra and Durant/Nietzsche in formation. Put Durant/Nietzsche on [1] and Yggdra on either [2] depending on male/female formations. Put Milanor on either [4]. End your turn. On the NEXT turn, choose a useful card, e.g. Shield Barrier, and move Rosary/Roswell to [3] and engage the enemy. (Don't worry about MVP, since there's absolutely no way you can get a +2 for this.) Once you move Roswell/Rosary to [3], your turn will automatically end, which means the enemy attacks first. Here are the cards I always use: - Mind Change. Have Nietzsche or Yggdra against Aegina. Make sure either girl has high TEC and hope that on the initial charge/counter, the TOTAL NUMBER of figures remaining is 7 or less. Otherwise, you won't be able to defeat Aegina in time before her Break Out with Revolution and that 1 on 1 = win will auto- matically give her the win. - Shield Barrier. Essential against either Aegina or Baldus, but note that, like all other cards, you only have 1 turn, so use it wisely. Break Out right before Aegina goes MAX to protect yourself from Revolution and recharge the bit you lost by going Passive and Break Out again to save your units and Aegina will lose. Against Baldus, just use it whenever to protect your units a bit from his high ATK stat. - Sanctuary. If you have 4 TEC or more on any unit, fight during the day against Baldus and you won't lose as long as you keep going passive and Breaking Out. Even Yggdra didn't lose against Baldus, though she had 4 ATK as well. Note that this won't work on Aegina since you don't have time to use Sanctuary after she does her Revolution and 1 on 1 = win combo. - Revolution. Use with Yggdra on Baldus, of course. Note that this won't always work out the way you want it to. As a matter of fact, you need a strong Yggdra for this to actually work. You can't use it on Aegina because once again, Aegina will win because of her Zolfy. - Blizzard. If you have Nietzsche and have equipped the Ice Javelin item on her. Break Out whenever to cause nice and effective Fatal Damage. If you use this combo against an enemy Griffon Rider, that's an Overkill, which results in an automatic KO for the Griffon Rider. If you're almost down to the enemy leader, then wait until so and you'll automatically win with Fatal Damage. Your card power will vary, but you should use the cards you've always been using and powering up. Otherwise the enemy's high status carries them back up to full Morale. Mine usually range from about 2000 to 3200. I find that Banshee's Cry isn't very effective because the enemy can still hurt you with 1 ATK and your gauge drains while you use it. Their high status actually gives them something like an ATK +1 boost, so that's 2 ATK basically. I'd much rather use Shield Barrier and null all damage, even if Shield Barrier wears away faster. Also, it's true that Ace Guard helps you get a better counter, but a good counter is not guaranteed. Also, if you're suffering from the Battle Penalty, then Ace Guard doesn't really help that much. The weak counter ratio after 2 rounds of Battle Penalty is about 85%, which means that 85% of the time, your charge/ counter will have an obvious lesser strength than if you had the full 6 figures (or 3 for large units). Also, Ace Guard wouldn't be particularly useful against Aegina because she Breaks Out with Revolution too quickly. Once you've taken out either Aegina or Baldus, regroup and attack the other set of enemies. If you're low on cards, don't use your last power card until you're forming a 3-on-1 or 4-on-1 union against Aegina or Baldus. That's the only way they'll fall. If you waste your last power card, then you might as well restart the battlefield. * [PSP] Tactics: If you thought this was hard in the GBA version, it's now nearly impossible because of the new battle system. For one, the Mind Change strategy against Aegina is no longer possible. In addition, the extended amount of time spent in battle really hurts, since supporting enemy units will also be MAX-ed out extremely quickly. However, if you charge up Nietzsche + Ice attack UP + Diamond Dust and release X right as Aegina falls to 1 unit (before Revolution), you'll Fatal Damage her before she Revolution + 1 on 1 = wins you. Even so, that doesn't nearly bring her Morale down enough to take her down on the next turn. So unless someone else finds a strategy for Battlefield 13, my advice is don't go this path. * Win: Defeat all enemies * MVP +2: 35 turns... not that you'll get it... -- [PSP] Battlefield 14I: Lenessey Mt. Baldus approaches from the left, so don't put your first unit in such a way that Baldus will include the catapault in his formation. That means on his side, your closest unit should be diagonally from the cannon. If you do this, skip to Battlefield 16. Otherwise, continue here. * Tactics: If you have Nietzsche, put her in water at the bottom left. As for Durant, leave him on the road tiles or on the bridge tile. You may or may not want to pick a good card for your second turn, since when the enemy appears, they will immediately attack from the bridge. If you have Yggdra equipped with Zolfy and have decided not to level up Durant or Nietzsche, then put her on the very left flagged tile. Whatever you do, DON'T put Milanor on the left. If you have Roswell, put him on the top left village where you got the Straw Hat if you want easy access to an item. * Battle Map: [1]-[ ] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [V]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | ( )-[ ] [V]-[ ]-( )-( )-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | [ ]-( ) ( )-[B] ( ) [ ] | | | | | ( )-[B] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[V] [ ] | | | | ( )-[T]-[T]-[T]-[T] [ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [G] [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] 1. Discovery: Golden Wheat * Enemies: Valkyrie (x1) Aegina GEN: 2 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 5 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 5880 Item: Death Bringer [2]: [O] Critical 50% Valkyrie (x4) Protective Guard GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 2220 * [PSP] Tactics: The 8-unit battle system hurts much more than the 6-unit one. Unless you somehow bring the valkyries to 1-3 figures after the initial charge/ counter, they're guaranteed to use Revolution. They also will wait for the best time to use it, which makes them and the 2800 card power pretty deadly. (I won't explain the mechanics of Revolution here, but the chances of winning after using that card aren't actually random, and the AI uses this fact to make it harder.) Mind Change is also less effective now due to having 8 units since you're much less likely to get it down to a winning situation before Revolution brings it to 1 on 1. If you somehow obtained Zolfy back in BF13, then you can equip it on Yggdra for an (almost) always win, but since you're playing the PSP version, this was highly unlikely. To defeat Aegina, you must first take out all of her supporting valkyrie units and then focus her down before she can Revolution the crap out of all your units. * Tactics: Watch out for Revolution. All enemies have HIGH status. If you don't have something else to counter against Revolution, such as Shield Barrier, you're most likely going to lose 0-1 and 1500+ Morale. Have Durant block the Valkyries coming down, or Nietzsche in the water to attack (at least she gets a -50% GEO effect if she loses.) Oh, and watch out for Aegina's [O] Critical 50% on her charge. (Nietzsche with the Shell Breastplate voids this, Yggdra with Iron Choker voids this too, but Yggdra has a worse time against Revolution.) By the way, [O] 1 on 1 = win does not work if your leader was already downed by a critical, so Milanor doesn't work no matter what item he has. If you have Rosary and Doll Craft, you can summon a Golem and use it to destroy the bridge to stop Aegina's unit from coming over. Note that this is risky, since if you summon it to the wrong spot and the Valkyries attack it, golems are [X] < Valkyrie and valkyries are [O] > Golem. Good if you're low on morale or just don't want to fight. (However, doing this prevents you from getting the Golden Wheat item unless Nietzsche helps defeat Aegina's unit.) If you do use this tactic, then the only way you can gain EXP is by using Nietzsche on the water tile that was where the bridge was. And good EXP gains can be made here. Also note that whatever card you end on for this battlefield will carry over and be your default card for BF16. Remember that your mission is NOT to defeat all enemy Valkyrie, but to get all units to the flagged tiles. This means that if you can't defeat all enemies, you don't have to. And if you do, then you don't need Roswell to get the Golden Wheat at the top. Send any unit up to get it after Aegina leaves. * Win: Move everyone to the Target points on Rodney Road * MVP +2: 12 turns -- Battlefield 16: North Paltina [Part 1] ------------------------------3.16.1-- * Battle Map: [G] | [3]-[6]-[7]-[7]-[7] | | [5] [7] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[4]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[1] [ ]-[V] | | | [ ] [2]-[B]-( ) | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[8]-( ) | | | | [V] ( )-( )-( ) 1. You can only do this once per playthrough. Some people might interpret that as you need to win by using Flame (as in Fatal Damage). That's not true; you get the Grilled Griffon as long as you use Flame first and then win. * Tactics: Emilia moves first, so watch which unit you choose for first and second extra. The position will be key in determining who wins the first round. Also units with low GEN, beware of Gravity Chaos. Bad pun.) and you take 10% hit on Morale as usual. Just attack the three Witches and wait. The Knights are invincible at the moment unless you inflict Fatal Damage on them. * [PSP] Tactics: The knights on the left are no longer invincible, but still have Morale Protect. You can fight them for EXP and help your MVP +2 by bringing them down to 1 Morale. Keep 1 unit down at the village 2 tiles to the right of where Eudy is. Trust me. Just have your units be hit by the cannon about 6 times. (Each character counts as 1 time, so you can get hit 4 "times" per turn.) However, still keep that unit down at the village closest to Eudy on her right. Kylier will show up after you get hit by the cannon 6 times. * Battle Map: [G] | [V]-[ ]-< >-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | < >-[1] [ ] [ ] [ ] | | | | -< > < >-[ ]-[ ] [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | | <4> < > < >-[ ] [ ] [ ]-[V] [ ]-[V] | | | | | | < >-< >-< >--< >-[2] [ ] [V]-[B]-( ) | | | | | | | | [ ]-< >-< > [ ]-[ ] [A]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[B]-( ) | | | | | | | | | | [ ] < > [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[3]-[ ]-[ ] [V] ( )-( )-( ) 1. However, if you equipped Zolfy on her, then send her against Leon and she'll almost always win, especially if she's on Fort terrain (lower bottom left of the map where Leon is). You can also use the Revolution + Zolfy = 1 on 1 = win trick. Kylier doesn't need to be next to the cannon to use it, which is odd, but good, since there are 2 items that only she can get. If you want the Treasure Map, you need to get it fast, since there's only one way down the path. If Leon decides to move up, he'll block you from getting that for good. (No Roswell to warp since time is fixed Noon. If you have Durant, though, he can move past enemy units to get the Treasure Map.) * Win: Defeat Black Knight Leon * MVP +2: 21 turns * Challenge: For anyone who has played this a lot, try completing this game without using Gravity Chaos. -- Battlefield 17: South Paltina [Part 1] ------------------------------3.17.1-- * Battle Map: [ ] [A] | | [ ] [1]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ] [ ] | | [G]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ]-< >-< > | | | [ ]-[V]-< > | | | | [V]-[ ]-[ ]-< >-< > [G] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] 1. As always, make sure your formation does well against the enemy lineup and you should be able to take out the Griffon Riders and Hunters without a problem. * [PSP] Tactics: Most of this area is Town, so Mistel does well here if she's up to 3 or 4 ATK. * Advance: Defeat Baldus, the God of War -- Battlefield 17: South Paltina [Part 2] ------------------------------3.17.2-- * Battle Map: [ ] [ ]-[ ] [A] | | | | [ ] [1]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ] [ ] | | [G]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ]-< >-< > | | | [ ]-[V]-< > | | | | [V]-[ ]-[ ]-< >-< > [G] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] 1. Stay on good GEO ground and wait for him to come to you. Only Roswell/Rosary have a weapon that's neutral to scythes, but don't think they'll help you win, because on their own, they're no match for Gulcasa's 4 ATK. Gravity Chaos is amazing here. Stealing his item is another way to help you win, but this might not work very well. 1 on 1 = win works, if you equipped Zolfy on Yggdra last battlefield. However, if Gulcasa uses Genocide, then 1 on 1 = win will NOT work! There are 2 water tiles on the bottom right that'll give Nietzsche an [O] fighting status against him and a 50% GEO effect. Durant is good on the Road. Also, the Gate down at the bottom right counts as Fort and Yggdra is Fort Happy. You'll have to run past the enemy to get to the water and fort tiles though, so plan accordingly. Yggdra can get there with the movement from Revolution, but if she doesn't have moderately high stats (same goes for Nietzsche), then she'll still lose, so don't think getting there means auto-win. Kylier isn't that good against Gulcasa and since she has [-] No GEO Effect, she won't receive any GEO reductions if she loses. As for Milanor, his main purpose there is to have high ATK (at least 4), to use Steal to rid Gulcasa of his item, and to be the Ace for Gravity Chaos. * [PSP] Tactics: Keep Mistel in the Town area. If she has 3 ATK, then she can probably beat Gulcasa with Oblivious Dawn to stop him from Genociding. Other than that, Milanor should've equipped Kill Blade to stop Aegina's 1 on 1 = win (when both units have that ability, they cancel each other and nothing happens) and can steal some items to weaken the two bosses. Other than that, Rosary isn't actually that good here because of the new battle system and her low ATK stat, so don't expect too much out of her. * Win: Defeat Gulcasa * MVP +2: 17 turns -- Battlefield 18: Machina Bridge [Part 1] -----------------------------3.18.1-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | [B] | [B] | [B] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] * Ally: Sword Maiden (x1) Yggdra GEN: 3 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 6140 Yggdra's stats will be the same as they were before. These are her stats for my sixth playthrough. Her Card Points will change, though, for some odd reason. Any equip item that she would have right now has disappeared (so if you equipped something like Zolfy [2] on her last battlefield, she'll have nothing here.) In the JP version of Yggdra Union, she'll have the Silk Corset back again or something, though it won't change her stats; she'll just have the [O] Block Counter special effect. * Enemies: Dragon Knight (x1) Gulcasa GEN: 3 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 6320 Just watch what happens. Nothing you can do here. Once Milanor's team shows up, you'll advance to the next part of the battlefield. -- Battlefield 18: Machina Bridge [Part 2] -----------------------------3.18.2-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] * Enemies: Dragon Knight (x1) Gulcasa GEN: 3 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 6320 Valkyrie (x1) Aegina GEN: 2 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 4 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 5680 Valkyrie (x2) Ambusher GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 2350 * Tactics: Take your turn. Save your strong cards and just select a waste one. Move all units up (as far as you can) unless you want to be attacked. If so, then choose a card that you can use and leave one unit down at the bottom and anyone else you're using in formation. If you look carefully, you'll notice that Yggdra's Morale damage calculations are incorrect when she loses--this is done on purpose to make sure she loses, so even if she has 6 GEN (which I doubt she does unless you're cheating) she won't survive Gulcasa and Aegina's first attack wave with high Ability Differ- ence. Her [O] Void Holy doesn't do anything either. -- Battlefield 18: Machina Bridge [Part 3] -----------------------------3.18.3-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[1] | | | [ ]-[T]-[ ] 1. After he Breaks Out, he'll change classes, which means his special effects will change as well, so you can't in- flict status ailments before he uses Reincarnation, but you CAN do it after the Break Out. In the JP version, however, his Special Effects remains the same even after his Break Out, so you can never inflict a Status Ailment on him. Also, in the JP version, Nessiah will remain [-] to swords, axes, and spears after his shift even if the other figures on his side would be [O], so that's the upside. * Tactics: Try NOT to attack Nessiah since you'll probably lose. If you want his equip item, however, then you have to Steal. You can do this in two ways. One, is to have Milanor go 1-on-5, attacking the Knight on the left or right. He's going to lose at least 2 fights, but... The second way is to have Milanor and another unit go 2-on-5 with Milanor attacking the Knight in the middle. Nessiah will be last on the enemy list, so Milanor will be going 4-on-6. Try to Steal before you're badly beaten. You can attack everyone else for EXP and card power, but they all have Protect status. Stall for time or don't attack at all. You will only have to do this for 2 turns. * [PSP] Tactics: If you haven't noticed it from the GBA version, all units here have boosted stats, so fighting them won't be as easy as it looks. Nessiah is impossible, even with 6 ATK, 1 on 1 = win Milanor because of the hidden value modifiers. Gravity Chaos is a must here, and since the enemy default formation has changed since GBA, it's only possible to Steal from Nessiah by Milanor going solo. If you attempt this, Milanor must start at high morale, because he will lose quite a bit. Also, if you're trying to steal, make sure Milanor starts with 100% gauge when facing Nessiah. It might be wise to position him close to the enemy using the Steal card, but end your turn so that he only has to deal with one wave of attacks instead of two (which would probably kill him). * Advance: Survive until Turn 23 * [PSP] Advance: If you fought well, you only need to survive until Turn 20. Other than that, everything isn't very hard, but the 40% GEO is annoying, since it takes that much longer to defeat your enemies. Go Passive when they put up their Shield Barrier, obviously, so (assuming you don't lose during that time) you have a full gauge, unless you want to use your own skill to cancel their's. * Win: Infiltrate the Prison Tower (Move Milanor to "The Tower") * MVP +2: 13 turns -- Battlefield 20: The Tower ---------------------------------------------4.20-- Just follow the maps. You need a spear unit or Mistel with 4 ATK and use two cards with around 3200 power each. [O] Always Ace is good, since that allows them to use Gravity Chaos so that you win with 4 or 5 figures remaining each time. Even then, you must bring down Aegina before Turn 8 (you can only start attacking on Turn 5) and the Fort terrain gives her a huge defensive bonus, especially with the new damage calculation system. As a matter of fact, the PSP version requires two 3600 to 3800 power cards assuming decent (4-0) wins and no criticals. * MVP +2: 9 turns (Must have faced Aegina) -- Battlefield 21: Amatorium Square --------------------------------------4.21-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [G]-[G] [ ] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [1] 1. Inzaghi is good if she has Shell Breastplate, since she avoids all critical hits. Other than that, watch out if Russell attacks and uses his Break Out, since that will destroy equipped items (though it sucks because it does nothing else). If you're going to get Russell, don't hurt him too badly. His Morale doesn't change when he joins. And if he dies, he doesn't join at all, I believe. Another way to increase Morale damage dealt is to use items like Flute of Deception, which nullifies all enemy GEO. Just keep at it. If you saved Flone and aren't done with the battlefield, then don't accidentally put a unit next to Russell. * Win: (If you didn't rescue Flone) Get through Castle Karona Gates (Defeat Inzaghi and Russell) * Win: (If you did rescue Flone) Move an ally next to Russell * MVP +2: 13 turns -- Battlefield 22: Castle Karona [Part 1] ------------------------------4.22.1-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[A] [2]-[ ] [ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[3] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [1] | | | | [V]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [V] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [G]-[G] 1. Have Nietzsche or Durant deal with Aegina again, or even Milanor can, if he's leading and you're using Gravity Chaos. Durant + Catastrophe + Gravity Chaos = auto win. Move your units up near the place where you get the Elegant Spear as a different unit stands on the tile that Aegina was standing on to advance to the next objective. Trust me. Moving your units up is crucial. If you're using Roswell however, you can leave him near the starting point and warp up directly toward Gulcasa in the next section. * Advance: Liberate Rosamil City (Move an ally to "Rosamil City") -- Battlefield 22: Castle Karona [Part 2] ------------------------------4.22.2-- Battle Map: [1]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[3] | | | | [ ]-[A] [ ]-< > [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-< >-< > [ ] [ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-< > < > < >-[ ]-[2] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-< >-< > < > < > [ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ] < > < >-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[V] < >-< >-[ ] | | | [ ]-[V]-[ ] [V] | | | | [V]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [V] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [G]-[G] 1. Save around 2-3 strong cards for Gulcasa, though he's weaker than before. You can either go all against Eudy then move on to Gulcasa or split your forces. If you're doing the latter, having a unit with [O] Always Ace helps a lot. And Gravity Chaos works well. * [PSP] Tactics: To deal with Eudy's unit, Rosary and Mistel + Mind Change works well, and the proximity of their unit to the main path allows unions while only sending 1 unit into Eudy's corner, which saves some movement. You'll need a male unit to start the fight, however. * Win: Defeat Emperor Gulcasa * MVP +2: 29 turns -- Battlefield 23: Southwest Marduk --------------------------------------4.23-- Similar style to BF20, except there are tiles you want to avoid. If she has the Demon Tail equipped, then have 2 units attack her at noon with a 3500+ card and she'll leave, but if she has Pamela's Broom equipped, then you'll need a 4-unit union with a 3500+ card to win. If Pamela Breaks Out with Fortune, your units will be at a huge dis- advantage because Pamela has 5 LUK. Good luck. * [PSP] Recruit: If you fulfilled the conditions from Battlefield 23, you need to uncover Pamela with Nietzsche again. Send 1 or 2 units down to free Yggdra since you're going to be going back the way you came. However, the other units back at the start will be fighting too. Keep Durant/Nietzsche back at the start if you chose them, and Russell is good at the beginning too. Durant/Nietzsche should be on [2] and any supporting unit(s) should be on or near [3]. GEN: 3 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 3180 * Tactics: Milanor is [O] Wasteland. He and Rosary/Roswell are the only units that can hopefully survive the first attackwave from Gulcasa. Attack back if you think you can, but Gulcasa has HIGH and Protect status. The others can be taken down for 80 card points and nice EXP each. Aegina will show up after you end your second turn, so I suggest you choose a card like Mind Change for if Nietzsche was back there. I don't recommend having Cruz in formation, since he can't counter. * [PSP] Tactics: Because of the new battle system, which weights battle status over ATK power, only Milanor with Cardinal Cloak or some other Void Fire item can hold off Gulcasa. Mistel can also hold him off if she has both 5 ATK and a Void Fire item like Platinum Ornament. Remember that Gulcasa's HIGH status increases all of his stats and his [O] Wasteland Happy bonus makes Mistel a worse matchup against him than Milanor. * Battle Map 28.3: [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [T] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [ ] [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[1]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | [ ] * Enemies Valkyrie (x1) Aegina GEN: 3 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 5 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 6920 Item: Bloody Rapier [1]: [X] Move: Morale DOWN Valkyrie (x1) Imperial Soldier GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 2950 Bandit (x2) Imperial Soldier GEN: 2 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 1 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 2760 Hunter (x2) Imperial Soldier GEN: 3 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 4 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 3030 * Tactics: If you left a high-leveled Nietzsche or Durant back at the start, then you should have few problems as long as you form a double union. That means Nietzsche and 1 other unit like Roswell. Otherwise, you're going to do well against Aegina, but badly against the 2 Bandits that are second and fourth in Aegina's formation. If Milanor has 6 ATK, 5+ GEN, and 5+ TEC, just leave him near Gulcasa's starting point and let him at Gulcasa. Just don't put him on the fortress or he'll lose. If Milanor isn't carrying a [O] Void Fire item, then you're kind of screwed since Gulcasa has 5 ATK plus hidden value bonuses. If you're running away, then just leave the Dragon Knights alone because they'll move together in a pack. If you defeat all but Gulcasa, then Gulcasa will have all 10 moves of Genocide to himself and will literally hunt you down. * [PSP] Tactics: Only Aegina and Gulcasa have Morale Protect, so you can now defeat the other units. In Hard mode, Coma Karma is pretty OP, since Pamela has high TEC (though if she gets criticaled, she's taking a LOT of Morale damage due to her abysmally low GEN. This shouldn't happen very often with her 5 LUK, however.) Aegina also voids Sleep. * Advance: Survive -- Battlefield 28: Galleon Prison [Part 3] -----------------------------4.28.3-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ] [T] [ ]-[ ] | | | [2] [ ] [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | | | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[1]-[ ] [ ]-[ ] | [ ] 1. (However, a slight glitch is that you don't lose anyone if your [O] Void element ability is in effect.) Mardym has a staff, so Elena works very well. Nietzsche is also good when she's unioned in the water. Overall, this shouldn't be hard, as long as you prevent your units from being poisoned. Note that Mardym will move towards you if you're three tiles away from him, so if you're just using Movement cards to get all the items before attacking him, then keep your units at least 4 tiles away and he won't come after you (and you won't accidentally finish him off before you got every item). * Win: Defeat Archbishop Mardym MVP: 47 turns -- Battlefield 32: St. Meriata Diocese [Part 1] ------------------------5.32.1-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[B]-[ ]-( )-{ }-[B] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] ( )-( )-[ ]-( )-( )-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-{ }-{ }-[ ]-( )-{ }-[ ] | | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] [3]-( )-( )-[B]-{ }-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | [ ]-{ }-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-{ } | | | | | ( )-( )-{ }-{ }-{ } | | | [1]-( )-( ) | | ( )-( ) | | [2]-{ }-{ } 1. They have a [.] formation, which means that if attacked normally, they don't union with any other enemy. Save your power cards and just use neutral ones on them. I would send Nietzsche down there and beat up the Griffon Riders with ice or just defeat Mardym to make them go away. After you defeat 2 of the three skeletons blocking the top path, the knight will probably move over to engage with the [O] Road Happy bonus. If you're using the card, try to end with Mind Change when you defeat Juvelon, or some other card that Gordon himself can use. * [PSP] Tactics: New battle system means that you're much more likely to get hit by Medusa Eye. (I would've said "get stoned" but that depends on how you interpret it.) Try not to have your units block the top because you might as well start over. Milanor is [O] Void stone and any 4 GEN or higher units will be okay, but you must take down Amareus in 1 turn because you can't counter her, and she WILL Break Out every time. Pamela also voids all ailments, but staves are weak to bows. * [PSP] Note: Refreshment only raises morale of all units within 2 tiles. It does NOT restore their statuses, only the card user's status, making it worth- less if you're trying to rescue one of your units from petrify status. * Advance: Defeat Cardinal Juvelon -- Battlefield 32: St. Meriata Diocese [Part 2] ------------------------5.32.2-- Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[B]-[ ]-( )-{ }-[B] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] ( )-( )-[ ]-( )-( )-[ ] | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-{ }-{ }-[ ]-( )-{ }-[ ] | | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-( )-( )-[B]-{ }-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | | | [G] [ ]-{ }-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-{ } | | | | | | [B]-[B] ( )-( )-{ }-{ }-{ } | | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-( )-( ) | | | [B] ( )-( ) | | | [T] [ ]-{ }-{ } * Enemies: Dragoon (x1) Gulcasa GEN: 4 | ATK: 5 | TEC: 4 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 8000 Item: Burning Sun [3]: [O] Day Happy Imperial Knight (x3) Imperi... Bonuses are what's going to keep you alive, e.g. Nietzsche [O] Water Happy, Durant [O] Road Happy. [O] Evening Happy items are good too. Using Gravity Chaos on Gulcasa won't inflict him with a status ailment since he's <>High. Remember that your goal is not to win, but to survive. Use cards like Shield Barrier if you're having a tough time. If you have Rosary, summoning Golems will help stall for time. Rosary is also [O] Void Fire, so she won't lose while Gulcasa's in Rage. This might actually backfire if she doesn't defeat Gulcasa while he's in Rage mode, since he'll eventually use Genocide to kill. Alternatives include using the Dragon Killer card, which also has a 50% bonus. * Advance: Defend the Church for 15 more turns! -- Battlefield 32: St. Meriata Diocese [Part 3] ------------------------5.32.3-- * Tactics: Win. Also, equip any Morale Recovery items on units that will be fighting Baldus's Knights. If you think one unit is going to die anyway, equip that unit with something that's [O] No Zero Reset if you want to preserve EXP. Anything that raises GEO effect would work nicely as well, such as the Mirage Coat or those Boots that you got off Mizer. If you want to try to win, then bring in Crusade, Bloody Claw, and any attack UP items and the respective card (i.e. Thunder attack UP + Thunderbolt) Also, if you still have it, equip Yggdra with Mage Ring or Magical Sword if you wish for the [O] Gauge Fills effect. Any other [O] Gauge Fills item can be equipped too, but note that doing this will not allow you to equip a second attacK UP item, so choose carefully. This means that when choosing your cards, only choose Crusade, Bloody Claw, and element cards that you can use. All other cards won't work anyway (you won't get any power-ups for them), so just bring cards with high MOV. It seems like you can bring in Revolution for this too, if Yggdra is up to level 15 and you have the Etherion item. (This requires double Revolution = auto KO.) [PSP] Since Baldus's unit has had their invincibility status removed in the PSP version, you can win normally now. However, note that because of the increased card power, their GENs have all been raised by 1 from the GBA version. * Battle Map: [ ]-[A] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[B] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[B] [B] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] * Enemies: Witch (x1) Eudy GEN: 3 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 5 | LUK: 4 | Morale: 7410 Item: Formular [1]: [O] Gauge = Max Guardian Knight (x1) Baldus GEN: 5 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 8180 Item: Mars Shield [1]: [O] Block Charge Steel Knight (x5) Imperial ... GEN: 5 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 5490 * [PSP] Tactics: You have to lose 7 times or more to advance to the next objective. The knights are no longer invincible, but still have Morale Protect, which might actually be a problem because if you keep winning then you'll run out of cards. In addition, there's no point in "farming" EXP here since you get less than 1 EXP point for every fight. Also, low GEN units should stay out of battle for the most part since every once in a while, the knights will get a huge counter with their [O] Road Happy / [O] Bridge Happy bonus. (Pamela only had 2 GEN for me at this point, which hurts.) * Tactics: All enemies are "invincible" right now, so don't choose a power card, since you won't get anything for it. Choose units that you want to raise EXP for and have them attack (and fail) and then, the enemy will attack you. After you lose 10 fights, you advance to the next objective. If you're a rebel, then you can use Crusade to end any fight. If you did equip Yggdra with a [O] Gauge fills item, then have her go 1-on-5 and win all of them by breaking out with Crusade. Bloody Claw will end the fight only if the enemy Steel Knight leader is alone. I believe you can't get critical hits here, or if the head is defeated, any remaining figure will still be invincible. Any Fatal Damage to one remaining enemy Steel Knight will let you win (i.e. Elena + Lightning Bow {[O] Thunder attack UP} + Thunderbolt, Yggdra + Black Rose Crest {[O] Dark attack UP} + Gravity Chaos, etc.) If you use Revolution with Yggdra, she will win if it was 1 on 1 for about four seconds. (Otherwise, the enemy leader will still be alive.) The other way to get around this is to use Revolution twice, but you'll need Etherion's [O] Gauge fills fast effect or Yggdra will lose, even with 6 ATK, if the enemy is MAXed. Unfortunately, 1 on 1 = win items don't work, so don't waste your time there. Eudy will fire the cannon on her turn as well, causing 10% Morale damage. If you want Baldus's Mars Shield you MUST use Milanor to Steal it. There's no other way to get that item, as Baldus remains invincible and has Morale Protect. For even more EXP for your units (at lesser Morale cost), use Banshee's Cry just as your unit is about to lose to give you a better Ability Difference rating so you basically get free or almost free EXP. This can't be done in the PSP version because you get virtually no EXP for these fights. * Note: Your cards do NOT reset after you lose 10 times, so you might have some difficulties moving your units down to the target points if you dawdled too much. Save cards with at least 70 MOV remaining or you probably won't make it. The way around this is to lose 10 times first, open up the next objective, then attack Baldus and his Knights while completing the second objective. * Battle Map: [ ]-[A] [ ]-[ ]-<1> | | [ ]- | | [ ]-< >-< >----[T] | | | < >- | | | < >-< >-< >-< >-< >-[ ] | | | | [ ] [ ]-< >-< >-< > | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-< > | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [2] | | | [T]-[T]-[T]-[ ] | | | [T]-[T]-[T] 1. Eudy is untouchable. Include cards with high move (7-12) or you'll miss the MVP +2. If you're planning to let one character die, give him/her the [O] No Zero Reset if you want to save their EXP. Also, Milanor and Elena will not be fighting here, so you can take this time to give either of them something to eat. [GBA] If you have Rosary, you can try bringing in Doll Craft, Earthquake, and equip a unit with Marchen Wings if you want. See the strategy for that below. This does NOT work for the PSP version. [PSP] As a rough guide, this is what I'm bringing in. Note that this is the Hard mode playthrough and I'm powering up Yggdra, Milanor, Rosary, Mistel, and Pamela, so everyone except Yggdra is good against spears. GEN: 5 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 5490 * [PSP] Tactics: Once again, all knights no longer have invincibility status but still have Morale Protect. A couple things you can do: If you still have Zolfy put it on Yggdra because [O] 1 on 1 = win now works and Revolution is a nice combo. Just make sure you win, because you will take a lot of morale damage if you lose because of your lowered GEN. Some [O] Gauge Fills action is also nice and definitely worth it, since you'll either want to go as Aggressive as you can, or get some easy Break Outs. If done correctly, you shouldn't lose any units (though Yggdra had less than 800 morale left for me). * Tactics: Move all units to their respective positions, but everyone should be at their appropriate positions at night to save yourself some morale damage. Fighting the sentries shouldn't be too hard. Once you get within cannon range, Eudy will fire the cannon for Morale damage. Also, to prepare for the next fight, I would suggest that you Summon golems/skeletons and make them help take off some of the Morale damage that will almost definitely be done to your units. Then again, that was just a theory and I'm not sure if that can actually be done. No harm in trying, though. Once again, only the following work: A unit equipped with [O] attack UP and card Break Out of that element and, of course, Yggdra with Crusade. If you still have the Magical Sword equipped on Yggdra, then, once again, you should be able to go 1-on-5 against the Knights and win all to get a total of somewhere around 400 card power. Revolution is good too, but if you equipped the Etherion earlier, then you won't have it now. * Note: Your formation is set until someone dies. If you have a male unit in front, he's the only person that can be used in a union (and therefore will take quite a hit on Morale). See next battle map. Units with [O] No Zero Reset, take your positions carefully. (In other words, take a hit for the team.) One unit is almost definitely going to retreat, so make that be the one with No Zero Reset so at least he/she doesn't lose EXP. This is most likely going to either be the leader of the charge (unless it's Yggdra, in which case you should use Crusade to buy yourself 1 turn) or the unit right behind him/her (on the right). Second note, try to move all units to the target points at Night. That way, you'll start out at night next, which will prove useful. * Advance: Split into 2 groups and start the mission! Move Milanor and Elena to "Toward Mountain Pass" and everyone else to "South Gate" -- Battlefield 36: South Gate - Mountain Bypass [Part 2] ---------------7.36.2-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[A] [ ]-[ ]-< > | | [ ]- | | [ ]-< >-< >-<1>-<1>-<1>-[1] | | < >- | | [G] -< >- | | | | [ ] [ ]--< >-< > | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-< > | | | | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ] | | [T]-[ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [V] | | | | | [T] [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] 1. Your units are stuck here until one of them loses. * [PSP] Tactics: It's not worth attacking the knights on your turn to gain EXP because you get virtually nothing. To have an easier time against Baldus, try to have Mistel (if she's strong enough) face him because he does NOT have a Road or Bridge bonus. He will always be last in the enemy formation. * Tactics: You're enclosed and you will have to fight. If you want it to be over quickly, then let one unit lose his/her Morale and retreat. Then move everyone back. Since the Guardian Knights only attack and don't move, you'll avoid more fights. Ways to protect your Morale: When you're down to 1 figure, use Banshee's Cry. That'll give somewhere around a -40% Ability difference and if you're lucky, you can use that to avoid all Morale damage for one union. You can also equip items that raise your GEN up to 6 to get about a -30% Ability Difference without Banshee's Cry. Or, you can al- ways Crusade for the win, or element combos for the win, so you don't lose any Morale. The third way is to equip Morale Recovery items like Nana's Candy. Even though fences have been set up, there's a way around that. This strategy won't help any of your units get free from Baldus's army... or will it? This is how it works: * The Golem Strategy: * [PSP] This can't be done in the PSP version because the bridges and fences won't be destroyed. Even if they were, the changed battle map prevents any units from moving out of attack range. [GBA] First, have Rosary summon a Golem. Yggdra should be first, Rosary second, and any unit third is okay. Choose Doll Craft and since Yggdra has [O] Always Ace, Rosary will be able to summon on her turn. Hopefully, the Golem will be 2 tiles to the left of Yggdra (surrounded by 4 Knights). Don't worry; the Knights won't attack the Golem on their turn. Next turn, choose Earthquake and have the Golem attack the Knight on the right (between it and Yggdra). Check when the Golem will fight the Knight at the very bottom. This is very important. It should be the 4th engagement. Let the Golem Break Out with Earth- quake in the FIRST and FOURTH fights only. You should destroy the bridges and the fences, and the knights standing on the bridges should've drowned. Now, any unit equipped with Dragon Boots which gives the [O] Move -> Dragon effect can move over enemy units and over water to safety. [-] Move -> Fly units can do so as well, but [-] Move -> Horse and [O] Move -> Swim can't do it. ... but remember, your objective is to move Elena and Milanor. Going for Eudy first nets you more EXP and card power, but your cards didn't get reset, so you might run out if you aren't careful. Also, note that since Baldus is [O] Void Ailments and [O] Void All Attr. (Attributes), cards like Gravity Chaos have no effect on him. As a matter of fact, you can't even go Aggressive on him with Yggdra, Nietzsche, Rosary, Roswell, Russell, Elena because they add an element when they're Aggressive. * [PSP] Tactics: Careful with Pamela here since she's [X] < Undine. Milanor should be good against Baldus and even Yggdra with 6 ATK, GEN, and TEC can win. Elena at night and Cruz at noon work well, but move them out of formation when after you charge, since bow-users can't counter. Putting Rainbow Arc on Elena is nice. So, wipe out all other units and then go 3-on-1 or 4-on-1 on Baldus and you should win. Units with low attack (5 or less) be careful. If you have to use a last resort, use Kylier, since she's [O] > Knight and Baldus is [X] < Griffon Rider. To win and do decent damage, though, use Shield Barrier, Bloody Claw, and maybe even Fortune. Finally, if you want to get the item, Rag in the next battlefield, you'll need to have a total of less than 14 REP. The next battlefield will be really easy, so take the chance to lose now (and with 40% GEO effect from the Fort, eliminate a lot of Morale damage) to get that item. * [PSP] Tactics: It's not possible to stop Baldus from Breaking Out unless Elena's killing him at night, Mistel is using Oblivious Dawn, etc. Large unions are unavoidable either, since Baldus will recover all morale on his turn, so you'll just have to deal with his guard. * Win: Defeat Baldus * MVP +2: 14 turns -- Battlefield 40: Bardot Hill [Part 1] --------------------------------7.40.1-- * Battle Map: [V] | [ ]-[ ] | [ ] [B]-[C] | | [B]-[ ]-[F] | | | ( )-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [C]-[ ]-[ ] | | [F]-[ ]-[V] | | [B]-[ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] * Enemies: Fencer (x1) Cannan GEN: 4 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 1 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 5660 Item: Lionheart [1]: [O] No battle penalty Valkyrie (x1) Monica GEN: 3 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 5100 Item: Rosary of Hope [2]: [O] Gauge = maybe max Valkyrie (x1) Militia GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 2220 Hunter (x1) Militia GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 2110 Knight (x1) Militia GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 1 | Morale: 2410 Bandit (x1) Militia GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 1 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 2030 Undine (x1) Militia GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 2220 * Advance: Capture Fort Ronaris! Only Aegina and Luciana can use it, so if they're fourth or fifth in line to fight, then they'll most likely be at MAX when they fight. If you don't get a Critical hit on them, they will use Revolution and you're basically screwed unless you have Yggdra using Crusade, Durant going Aggressivewith 6 ATK, or are using Shield Barrier. He doesn't have <>High at this point, so that should help. Yggdra is Fort Happy. GEN: 4 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 6130 * Tactics: Gulcasa appears on the left side of the gates, so any units within 8-9 tiles will probably be attacked. Your first priority is the Valkyrie unit. If you're trapped, just take her down to end this quickly.... However, if you aren't in trouble, then you should try to take out some of the Imperial Knights before finishing the Valkyries off. * [PSP] Tactics: [-] Counter same damage now works properly, so you lose 1 large figure or 2 small figures for every figure you take down on your charge. This means that you actually need to have a better fighting status against Gulcasa to defeat him. And yes, this ability also takes into account units lost due to catapaults. * Advance: Defeat Aegina -- OR -- * Advance: Defeat Luciana -- Battlefield 44: Castle Bronquia [Part 3] ----------------------------8.44.3-- * Tactics: Once the Valkyries are gone, Gulcasa will try to return to the castle. The only way to stop him is to have Yggdra equipped with Marchen Wings fly over and block his path. If you can defeat him before he transforms, continue in Battlefield 45. Otherwise, attack the Imperial Knights for some EXP and what card power you can get off them, and be prepared to fight Gulcasa's transformation. * Note: Whether you defeat him before or after his transformation, You MUST Steal Gulcasa's item if you want to have a shot at getting another equip item this playthrough! If Milanor doesn't have 6 TEC, then he can only Steal after Gulcasa transforms. Gulcasa will NOT drop his item if you defeat him normally. * Win: Defeat Emperor Gulcasa (Go to Battlefield 45) * MVP +2: 50 turns -- Battlefield 44: Castle Bronquia [Part 4] ----------------------------8.44.4-- * Changed enemy: Brongaa Knight (x1) Gulcasa GEN: 1 | ATK: 6 | TEC: 4 | LUK: 5 | Morale: 6540 - [O] Void ailments - [O] Wasteland Happy - [O] Void all elements Item: Salamandora [1]: [-] Counter same damage * Win: Defeat Emperor Gulcasa (Go to Battlefield 45) * MVP +2: 50 turns -- Battlefield 45: Chamber of Brongaa ------------------------------------8.45-- * Battle Map: [G] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [1] [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] [ ] | | [ ] [T]-[ ] * Enemy: Brongaa Knight (x1) Gulcasa GEN: 1 | ATK: 6 | TEC: 6 | LUK: 6 | Morale: 6600 Item: Prominence [2]: [O] Gauge fills * Win: Defeat Gulcasa * [PSP] Tactics: Take advantage of terrain. The starting position is kind of awkward since you don't get terrain bonuses, which hurts. If you move Yggdra down 1 tile and Milanor left 1 tile, then on your second turn, you can move Yggdra to Fort and Milanor to Wasteland. Now would be a good time to equip items that give [O] Critical 50% or [O] 1 on 1 = win, though the latter might not be useful if Gulcasa has Prominence equipped since he Breaks Out too fast. * MVP +2: 4 turns * Note: If you fail to defeat Gulcasa before he reaches the Target Point, you'll have a third ending right now instead of going on to Battlefield 48. I'd lose on purpose if you want to collect all CGs, since you get to restart right here in Battlefield 45 when the ending is done anyway. < Chapter 9 - Battle on the Requiem 9.0 > -- Battlefield 46: Ancardia, the Lost Paradise ---------------------------9.46-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] [ ] | | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] * Enemy: [NA Version] Griffon Rider (x1) Kylier GEN: 1 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 4 | Morale: 5920 -- OR -- * Enemy: [JP Version] Griffon Rider (x1) Kylier GEN: 1 | ATK: 5 | TEC: 4 | LUK: 4 | Morale: 5920 Item: Bloody Rose [0]: [O] Power 25% UP * Win: Defeat Kylier * MVP +2: 7 turns -- Battlefield 47: Great Temple ------------------------------------------9.47-- * Battle Map: [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] [ ] [1] | | | [ ]-[ ] [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-(2)-[ ] | | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] 1. (*gasp!* Nietzsche finally found it!!) * Enemies: The Ancient (x1) Nessiah GEN: 6 | ATK: 5 | TEC: 6 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 9320 Item: Revelations of the Gods [!] // Extra Contents --> Cards Note: Nessiah's Special Effects stats only remain like they are above as long as he hasn't used his Break Out for that union. After he Breaks Out, he'll change classes, which means his special effects will change as well, so you can't in- flict status ailments before he uses Reincarnation, but you CAN do it after the Break Out. In JP version, however, this does not apply (he'll keep his Special Effects even after breaking out). Astarte (x3) Astarte GEN: 2 | ATK: 3 | TEC: 4 | LUK: 3 | Morale: 5700 Skeleton (x2) Soulless One GEN: 2 | ATK: 2 | TEC: 3 | LUK: 4 | Morale: 3560 Golem (x2) Soulless One GEN: 4 | ATK: 4 | TEC: 2 | LUK: 2 | Morale: 3800 * Tactics: Get rid of the Astarte first if you want to nullify Nessiah's High status, or, if you're looking for a challenge, try to beat him WITH his High. Anyway, if you attack him directly, you'd better win before he uses his Break Out. Try to do it this way: Attack 3-on-1 at minimum. Your first two should have 6 ATK and bring him down both times. Before your third character attacks, Nessiah should be close to MAX. When you go the third time, go passive and fill up as much gauge as you can before he Breaks Out to Reincarnate. After that, go all-out Aggressive against him and hopefully you can even overcome one Reincarnation. If you can't, then you're screwed and will lose 0-5 at worst. Since he has 8000+ card power, that'll hurt. There is more than one way to win, of course, but what I've given you there is something good to start with. Elena is especially good since Bows > Books and she's Night Happy. This was a lot easier than Gulcasa... or maybe it's because I have both Elena and Cruz up to level 18. Oh, well. It would've been more of a challenge if Nessiah kept his High when the Astarte lost.... * [PSP] Tactics: Nessiah will not use Reincarnation if he can't change to a class that is strong against your unit. This means that if Elena or Mistel face him he won't use Reincarnation because nothing is strong against bows or scythes. * Win: Defeat the Fallen Angel, Nessiah * MVP +2: 10 turns -- Battlefield 48: Heaven's Gate -----------------------------------------9.48-- * Battle Map 48.1: [ ] | [ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ] [ ] * Enemy: Archangel (x1) ??? At the close of the war with Bronquia, Yggdra, the 32nd Monarch of Fantasinia, renounced all military force forever and sealed the Holy Sword in the Great Temple. She vowed never to allow war to give rise to any more sorrow or hatred. Acknowledging this, the Guardian Angel Marietta gave Yggdra her holy Scepter of Wisdom, and Yggdra swore to be driven by wisdom rather than power. A gentle breeze has begun to flow, bringing a new age of peace to Paltina... Fin. -- Second Ending --------------------------------------------------------------- * Battle Map: [ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ] | [ ] | [ ] | [ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ]-[ ] | | [ ]-[ ] * Tactics: You should've filled everyone's Morale to maximum or close to that. Also, have any Morale Recovering items, i.e. Cat Ears [3] equipped if your units have low GEN. Time is still Fixed Night, so Noon/Evening cards will have no effect. The [O] A.S. Shield blocks just about everything anyway, including criticals, 1 on 1 = win and damaging card effects such as Banish. And yes, I know you always lose, but keep attacking anyway, and make sure it's always 4-on-1 or 5-on-1, or you'll run out of cards. Only a few cards out of your entire list will have any effect, which include things that affect your own party, such as Shield Barrier, Banshee's Cry. Also, Marietta's HP control system allows her to modify her own HP in battle, though I believe this costs her Morale points. Even if you lose, most units will gain enough EXP to raise them a level or something close to it, so all of your units will probably end up at lv 20 by the end of this... Anyway, how to win: Well, as I mentioned, her Morale goes down after battles. By the time you're on turn 12, check her Morale. Don't worry if it's still ????, but if it shows up as somewhere in the 9000s, then you're already halfway done. (This can be done as early as the end of Turn 9 if you kept attacking properly. Check your own units' Morales and hope you still have more than half left, especially Yggdra.) If you don't see it, check again on about turn 17. If by turn 21 you still haven't seen her Morale drop below 10000, then there's a problem. The longer you're in battle against her, the more her Morale will de- crease. Units with good ATK power can really bring her down by about 500-600 Morale points each. When she's down to exactly 1 Morale, she'll switch to an S. Shield. That's when you use Crusade. Don't mess up, as in when you're down to 1 La Pucelle v. 1 Archangel, don't let her keep smashing you and canceling your charge, or you're going to lose before you have the chance to Break Out. [PSP] Yes, it is possible to get smashed 5 times in a row now, which means you lose if you're down to 1 on 1 and this happens. * Win: Defeat Marietta You also get the Angel Halo for doing this. * [PSP] MVP +2: 15 turns * [PSP] In Hard mode, if you do this, advance to Battlefield 49 instead. You will get the ending here if you defeat Marietta in Easy mode. ------ The Advent of Ragnarok ------------------------------------------ Ancardia, the Lost Paradise, continued to rise during the fierce battle with Nessiah, reaching the boundary between the realm of the humans and that of the gods, known as Heaven's Gate. The guardian angel Marietta flew down to deliver the words of the gods to the Royal Army. Yggdra, who believed in the absolute justice of the Holy Sword which has served as a pillar of Fantasinia, responded by slaying her with the Gran Centurio. Violent thunder roared and lightning rent the clouds. The war had been carried into the heavens... A titanic clash between Yggdra's forces and the gods... The great battle that came to be known as "Ragnarok" was about to begin... I'm not sure what the mechanism for determing Judgment Zero damage is, since I've had Overkills against Mistel and weak hits on Yggdra and medium hits on Pamela. You can use card skills such as the elementals, terrains, and they'll hurt No. 367 even if it doesn't look like it's doing anything. Pamela used three Flames in a row with [O] Gauge fills and won easily. * [PSP] Win: Defeat No. 367 You also get the Judgment Zero card, which is unusable, but completes your Cards list. * [PSP] MVP +2: n/a Enjoy Ending D. 03=================================== end ====================================== Credits, not in any particular order.
