You can edit skills by pressing the Up/Down Buttons next to each skill. Clicking the skill will give a description of that skill. Character Traits can be modified by clicking on the boxes next to each skill. Please remember you cannot have more than 2 of each trait and for every equipped trait you will either need more or less experience to gain a level. Known Potions can be changed by selecting/deselecting the box next to each recipe. Mage/Priest Spells can be edited by clicking on the box next to each spell. When the spell is a level one spell there will be one rune next to the box, when the spell is level two there will be two runes and so on. If there are no runes it means you haven't learnt the spell yet. ============= Do Healing [a3eg_dohl] ============= Clicking on this option will heal the character. =========== Energize [a3eg_ener] =========== Clicking on this option will restore the character's Spell Points. ================= Identification [a3eg_iden] ================= Unidentified objects in a characters inventory will be coloured blue. In the second box you must type in how many of that item you want (that's your choice). Number 0: Unused. Number 1: Unused. Number 2: Unused. Number 3: Unused. Number 4: Unused. Number 5: Unused. Number 6: Unused. Number 7: Unused. Number 8: Unused. Number 9: Unused. Number 10: Unused. Number 11: Twisted Steel Key - You found this strangely shaped, polished steel key in a cavern filled with rubble. That cave was where the two New Formellans were found dead. Number 12: Giant's Key - You found this rusty iron key in the lair of Guhkbar. It smells funny Number 13: Stone Key - This is a rather pretty polished stone key you found in the Cult of the Sacred Item Number 14: Lost Papers - You found these papers on a dead courier west of Fort Emergence. They were addressed to someone named Thereza. They are records of supply movements. Nothing very interesting to you. Number 15: Reward Slip - You were given this ticket by Mayor Scowcroft in Softport. Supposedly, if you give it to an official in Blackcrag Fortress, you will receive a reward. Number 16: Key to Hawke's Manse - When you bought Hawke's Manse, a beautiful home in the city of Lorelei, you were given this key to get in. It's small, iron and pretty nondescript looking. Number 17: Silver Key - You bought this key, at great expense, from the travelling bard Foxfire. It will supposedly let you into the home of some bizzare, violent cult on the southernmost of the Remote Isles, in far southeastern Valorim. Number 18: Large, Iron Key - You found this massive, iron key in the home of the hill giants. It's crudely made, and as long as your arm. Number 19: Vahnatai Crypt Key - This is a small platinum key, which you found in an ancient vahnatai ruin near the surface in northwest Valorim. Number 20: Electrum Key - You purchased this key in the city of Gale. It will, supposedly , let you into the library there. Number 21: Twisted Gold Key - This is a small, oddly bent gold key, found in the vahnatai chambers under the Keep of Tinraya. It is quite similar to the one you found in the cave in Upper Avernum. Number 22: Stolen Package - You found this package in an inn in Delis. Tearing away a corner reveals what's inside: skribbane herb. It's an addictive, illegal substance which improves the strength of the user. It is no good to you, though , It hasn't been processed. Number 23: Dirty Anama Ring - The Anama wear these thin gold bands to mark their membership in their sect. This one is scratched and covered with dried slime. A single word is engraved on the outside: "Grunders." Number 24: Scroll from Prazac - This is a diplomatic message of some sort, given to you by Empress Prazac herself to take to Anaximander. Number 25: Scroll from Anaximander - This is a message from Anaximander to Prazac, agreeing to her offer that if you destroy the monsters plaguing the world, the Empire will give Avernum land on the surface. Number 26: Soul Crystal - This is a vahnatai magical device - a small crystal which can hold the images of monsters, and then be used to recreate copies of those monsters. See the mage spells Capture Soul and Simulacrum. Number 27: Drawing of Rune - This is a drawing of the rune you found well hidden in the lair of the alien slime. You made it in the hope of identifying it and getting an idea of who might have created the horrible creature. Number 28: Withered Scales - These are several exceptionally large lizard scales you found mixed in with garbage in the cockroach pit. You took them hoping they were a clue to who might have created the disgusting place. Number 29: Crystal Shards - These are shards of the magical crystal that was creating the barrier holding the troglodytes and hill giants apart. After destroying the crystal, you took some of the shards, hoping they would provide a clue to who made the thing. Number 30: Hot Crystal Shards - These shards of blue crystal remain hot to the touch long after the strange crystal creature creating the golems was destroyed. You kept them, hoping you might be able to use them to determine who was making the golems. Number 31: Silver Runed Amulet - You found this amulet in a bedroom in the Tower of Magi, just where Denise, a mage in the Portal Fortress, told you you'd find it. Number 32: Crystal Statue - This is a small, beautiful crystal statue of a vahnatai female. Number 33: Cooling Amulets - These amulets were prepared for you in case you need to somehow penetrate the Archmage Erika's defences. They will protect you from her fire magic, and, to a lesser extent, from fire of all sorts. Number 34: Thought Crystal - This is a peculiar, experimental item made for you by the wizards of the Bunker. It is a slightly sentinent crystal, which might be able to interfere with vahnatai crystal magic being used against you. Or, it might not. Number 35: Book on Teleportation - This is a book called 'Teleportation for Dummies.' You stole it from the home of a wizard named Ernest. Looking through it quickly reveals that you don't understand a word of it. Number 36: Blessed Athame - This extremely rare artifact is a small ceremonial knife, echanted and blessed to the point where it can cut practically anything. Number 37: Erika's Amulet - This is a copper amulet with Erika's symbol on it. It cannot be removed, and its purpose is to let Erika track your progress so the she can (maybe) help you if you get into trouble. Number 38: Metal Lumps - These are some lumps of something that seems like metal, but are far less dense or shiny than any metal you've ever encountered.Perhaps someone with great skill could make something out of this metal. Number 39: Egg of the Phoenix - You were given the Egg of the Phoenix by Purgatos, in Kneece. He told you it would unleash flames which could destroy the home of the roaches, if taken to the deepest part of their lair. Getting there, however, is your problem. Number 40: Anama Rings - These delicate silver rings are permanently affixed to your fingers, and are stronger than they look. They mark you as members of the Anama church, based on the Isle of Bigail. Number 41: Suspicious Package - You are supposed to take this package of musty smelling, mind-altering leaves to Kendra, in Lorelei. They're quite illegal. You were warned to be careful about where you took them. Number 42: Scroll of Passage - This scroll was given to you by Mayor Knight of Sharimik. It was sent to him by the king of troglodytes. The bearer will be allowed into Castle Troglo. Number 43: Sharimik Ring - This ring belonged to Ginny the food seller, was given to Sloan the archer, and then was lost. You found it. And thank goodness for that. Number 44: Troglodyte Message - This message was given to you by Vothkaro, king of the troglodytes, to return to Mayor Knight of Sharimik. Number 45: Silver Ring - You found this dull, non-magical trinket on an island out on Lake Tomor. It was on the body of a sailor who died in a shipwreck. Number 46: Love Letter - You found this letter from a soldier to his love back in Lorelei in the caverns of the giants. Number 47: Good Luck Charm - You found this luck charm on the body of a soldier in the giant's caverns. It obviously didn't work too well. However, it may have sentimental value for someone back home. Number 48: Embroided Favour - You found this favor among the looted personal effects of a Lorelei soldier. It must have been given to him by his lover before he got killed. Number 49: Locket with Painting - This locket contains a small, highly detailed painting of a young man. What value it's supposed to have for you is not clear, but the family of whatever soldier it belonged to probably want it back. Number 50: General Baziron Message - This is a scroll given to you by an Empire Dervish in an encampment southwest of the town of Tevrono. You're supposed to deliver it to General Baziron in Tevrono. Number 51: Unused. Number 52: Blue Crystal Key - This key was concealed inside the Golem Factory. Is is small and carefully carved out of a single, large blue crystal. Number 53: Guardian Key - This simple iron key was taken off the body of a guardian in an old vahnatai factory. Number 54: Key - (No Description Given) Number 55: Grimoire of Thren - This heavy tome is bound in black leather and smells of smoke. You open it and find nothing but sloppy handwriting and strange geometrical drawings. You can't understand anything in it. ==================== Set Stuff Done Flag [a3eg_ssdf] =================== A Stuff Done Flag is a special flag used by Avernum 3 to record whether you've done something or not. For Example: If you haven't defeated the slimes yet a flag may be 100 1 2 0. After you defeat the Alien Slime, this flag may have changed to 100 1 2 1. So when it comes to special messages, missions, characters, towns etc, the game will know which set to display. So if the flag is 100 1 2 0, the mayor will ask you to defeat the slimes, but if the flat is 100 1 2 1, the games knows you have defeated the slimes, he will congradulate you. That is how Avernum 3 and most other games work. If you didn't understand that, an SDF is simply something that tells the game wether you've done something or not. There are many ways this options can be used to fix games. Say you cheated in the game and you accidentally killed a character you needed to talk to. Using this option will allow you to change the SDF, meaning the game thinks he was never killed, making him alive! When you click on option you will see a dialog box pop up. Insert the correct number. Repeat this for the second, third and fourth boxes. Please Note: SDF means Stuff Done Flag. Please do not meddle around with this option unless you know what you are doing. In the Avernum series, there is no editable game script meaning that no-one except the people who work a Spiderweb Software knows which SDF does what. When dealing with Stuff Done Flag remember to always back up your savegame before trying. It could adversly affect your game. ============= Give An Item [a3eg_gait] ============= Each item in Avernum has a unique code.
