Basics of the Game ******************************HAWK_6********************* =============================================================================== Controls =============================================================================== All controls are keyboard-based: -- Left Arrow : Move left. -- "A" button : Move left. -- Right Arrow: Move right. -- "D" button : Move right. -- Up Arrow : Move up. -- "W" button : Move up. -- Down Arrow : Move down. -- "S" button : Move down. -- Spacebar: Fire all weapons simultaneously. -- CTRL : Fire guns only. -- Shift : Fire only bombs and missiles. -- "P" button: Pause game. -- "F" button: Enter full screen mode. -- Esc : Exit full screen mode. -- "H" button: Open help menu. -- "Q" button: Quit. -- Alt + F4 : Exit game entirely. =============================================================================== Object of the Game =============================================================================== Across four levels, you will play. During the course of each level, you are to mostly survive and kill enemies. To do so, you shoot at pretty much ANYTHING that moves (except yourself, of course). To destroy an enemy, it's a bit more complicated. Aerial enemies only can be hit with the basic gun and missiles; ground enemies only are hit with bombs or the basic gun. Terrain structures (e.g. buildings, trees) can only be hit with bombs. Destroying an enemy will net you points, and getting members of a group in a consecutive order builds a point multiplier. You may also find some icons after defeating an enemy. Both ideas (scoring and power-ups) are detailed further on. At the end of each of these four levels is a boss, which is just a more powerful and strategic enemy. Of course, you have to defeat it. You also have a limited number of lives. Each time you are hit with an enemy missile, laser, or the enemy itself, to name some examples, your chopper will crash to the ground. In doing so, there will be an explosion which damages all nearby enemies (most of the ones on-screen). Some of the power-ups you had grabbed will also come onto the screen, letting you grab them when your chopper regenerates. When it does, you have a limited time of invulnerability and you can grab the dropped power-ups. Your game ends when you lose every life; extra ones are gained every 100,000 points. =============================================================================== Scoring =============================================================================== Each enemy has a score value attached to it (not visibly, but you get what I mean). Destroying the enemy will get you those points. Those points may be "filtered" through a multiplier. Multipliers are found when you destroy enemies of a certain group consecutively and they'll progress from x1 to x2, x3, x4, and so on. Another way to earn points is obtain the star-marked power-up. It will net you 2,000 points. You'll gain lives every 100,000 points. =============================================================================== Power-Ups =============================================================================== As you destroy enemies and terrain-based structures in levels, you'll soon find some different-looking icons. Each of these icons have a specific function that is beneficial to you, and some can even be shot at until you get the one you want! -- The Rotor power-up looks like a helicopter rotor. It will boost your movement speed. Shoot at it to switch it to a Gun power-up. -- The Gun power-up looks like a crosshair with a red background. It will increase your guns' power, number of bullets fired, and their spread, but it may take more than one pickup to increase the latter two. Your Rotor level will lower with each one picked up. Shoot this power-up to make it a Rotor power-up. -- The Missile power-up looks like a missile. It increases missile number and strength. Shoot it to make it into a Bomb power-up. -- The Bomb power-up looks like a bomb. It increases the number and the power of the bombs you launch. Shoot it to make it into a Missile power-up. -- The Tesla power-up looks almost like a certain Greek letter. It adds the Tesla point defense system. Tesla knocks out nearby aerial enemies and enemy missiles. -- The Wingman power-up gives you an extra ally, sort of like the dual-fire ship in the Galaga arcade games. Your ally follows you and shoots down your enemies. He CAN be upgraded, but is also destroyable. -- The star-marked power-up merely gives you an extra 2,000 points. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ +++ +++ This is the end of KeyBlade999's +++ +++ Blackhawk Striker 2 FAQ. +++ +++ +++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ________________ | ____________ | | | | | | | | | | |____________| |________________________________________ | |____________| |_________________________ | | | | | | |\ /\ /| | | | | | | | \ / \ / | | | |____________| | | | (_) (_) | | |________________| |_| |_| ___ ___ ___ /'__`\ /'__`\ /'__`\ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \ \_\ \ \_\ \ \_\ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ KeyBlade999
