III. Skills ==================== This is the section where I tell you what skills to get first. -------------------- Thief -------------------- As a Thief all types of Assassins should have these ending skills. It is recommended that you get these skills in order. Currently Gravity says that the required job level to become an assassin WILL BE job level 44. IF you want to change at job level 40, leave steal at level 5. Double Slash Level 10 Increase Dodge Level 10 Envenom Level 10 Steal Level 10 Hiding Level 3 Detoxify Level 1 -------------------- Critical Assassin -------------------- These are the skills recommended for a critical assassin. You may get them in any order you please. You can waste any remanding skill points on anything you want. Katar Mastery Level 10 Sonic Blow Level 10 Cloaking Level 5 Grimtooth Level 5 Enchant Poison Level 5 Venom Dust Level 5 Poison React Level 5 Venom Splasher Level 5 -------------------- Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- These are the skills recommended for a perfect dodge assassin. You may get them in any order you please. You can waste any remaining skill points on anything you want. Katar Mastery Level 10 Right Hand Mastery Level 5 Left Hand Mastery Level 5 Cloaking Level 5 Sonic Blow Level 5 Grimtooth Level 5 Venom Dust Level 5 Poison React Level 5 Venom Splasher Level 5 -------------------- Hybrid Perfect Dodge/Critical Assassin -------------------- These are the skills recommended for a Hybrid assassin. Leveling / Game Guide ==================== -------------------- All: -------------------- Well in this section I will explain where to level ,what weapons you should use, etc. No matter which road you pick you will have to begin the same way. You will begin in the training grounds. If you are new to the game this will teach you many things about the game so you don't act like an idiot while playing. They will put you through many tests and if you answer the questions correctly you will be rewarded. At the end of the training grounds you will take a test which will determine which class suits you the best. If you end up with them recommending you to be a thief you will be teleported to morroc and given extra zenny, but if you get stuck with another class tell them you want to go with your original class which is a thief and tell them to teleport you to Morroc. You are now in Midgard the ragnarok world. This is the equipment/items/zenny they give you at the beginning: 1 Knife 1 Cotton Shirt The items depend on how many questions you answered correctly. Your zenny depends on if they recommended you to be a thief. From now you will begin training. Head to the northern exit which leads to the dessert. In the dessert you will find a couple types of monsters. You will see porings, pickys, Pecco Eggs, and Condors. At the beginning you will have to level on just porings, pecco eggs, and the occasional picky. When your HP gets low just use a healing item or wait until your HP recharges. Once you are base level 6 you should be able to kill Condors. Keep on killing these monsters until you are job level 10. When you are job level 10 head back into Morroc and then go to the north western exit which will lead you to a dessert with a fountain and pyramids. Prepare your healing items because it will be the toughest run of your life so far. Don't even bother attacking any monsters in here, you will just get killed. Walk into the pyramid and try to stick to people that are stronger than you. Walk through the maze until you find stairs that lead down. If you are in the right place you should be in a hallway. Go straight down the hallway and a NPC should be behind a counter. Talk to the NPC and he will send you out on a quest. You now exit the pyramid and head to the fountain outside. There should be another NPC waiting for you that will let you into a dungeon. Now you must collect a semi-rare mushroom. This shouldn't take more than a while but beware, there are aggressive monsters there. Once you finish you should become a thief. Now walk into Morroc and take the northern exit. You must now make a journey to Prontera. If you have lots of zenny you can just buy a warp but if you don't you'll have to walk through the dessert. I recommend you walk through the dessert, it’s a good way to get EXP. Once you are in Prontera you can sell what you have collected in monster drops and you should have enough zenny to buy a Cutter or Main Gauche. After you are done selling/buying head to the building in the northwest part of town. There you must sign up in a mission to kill the monsters in prontera's sewers. After you sign up you will be teleported to the dungeon. Once inside try killing thief bugs that are alone and eventually Tarou's and bats. -------------------- By Base lv.20 -------------------- You should go to culverts level 2 and kill anything that you can kill. If you are lucky you will be able to find Blades which you can either use or just sell for money. Try to stay away from big groups of people because they will only bring lag. Always leave atleast 1 jellopy on the ground to attract monsters. If you gather too many thief bugs and you attack there is a chance that they will all gang on you at the same time so carry a couple of pots or carrots. The culverts 2 is a very good place to gather money because of the constant monsters. -------------------- Base Lv.30 -------------------- You should now go deeper into the culverts and fight the monsters in culverts 3. While down here you'll notice one big difference from culverts 2, the thief bugs are now larger. These larger thief bugs are much stronger and give out more exp. While down here you will also fight Hydras which have ranged attacks, if you lose HP for no reason a hydra is attacking you. Like in culverts 2 try to stay away from groups of people. Do not go into the next screen if you value your life. Try to drop as much Jellopys as you can to attract alot of monsters. You will need a couple of healing items down here, -------------------- Base Lv.35 -------------------- You should now leave the culverts and go to Prontera to sell your earnings. At this point you should have enough to buy a Stilleto from a discount merchant. If you have any extra money buy a wooden mail. After that do not buy any more armor...you won't be needing it. After you buy a stilleto you will now make a journey to the closest upgrade NPC. There are upgrade NPCs in Prontera, Payon and Morroc. Once in one of those places head for the upgrade shop. Here you will have to pay to upgrade your stilleto. Upgrade your Stilleto until you get it to +7. Once you are done upgrading leave. Keep in mind there's a chance of failure. Now you will have to walk to Geffen. If you still have any money left warp but it isn't a very long walk. Once in Geffen go to the eastern exit and then on the next map go to northern exit. You will now be in a map with Squirrels and Snails (Cocos and Ambermites). Fight here until you are Base Lv.40. The cocos give decent drops so try to fight more of them. -------------------- Base Lv.40 -------------------- You can go one map east of the map with Cocos and Ambermites to fight Horns. By fighting here you will get more money and rares because Horns have a good chance of dropping valuable items. With the money each type of Assassin should gather the money necessary for some of their equipment. The horns WILL hit you always carry pots here. There are Cocos, Horns, and Lunatics in this map. From what I've seen the Lunatics here have a high percentage of dropping Pierrot Noses( In 1 hour I found 3 of them). The exp may seem slow but its better than wandering around and wasting time trying to find a decent leveling place for your level(which you won't). -------------------- Base Lv.45 -------------------- Now this is where the types of Assassins split. -------------------- Critical Assassin -------------------- A critical assassin should now go to Izlude to fight in bibiland dungeon level 2 until they reach the job level required to be an assassin. If you have followed my guideline for stats you should be able to handle some Orc Zombies with the help of pots. Bibiland 2 will end up costing less than Orc Dungeon and you will really need the money in the future. -------------------- Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- You will have to stay fighting horns. You need the money that you will get from the rares. The exp from horns is almost equivalent to the exp you would get in bibiland 2. Try to look for people selling Fortune Swords when ever you go to town. If you see a slotted Muffler or slotted shoes buy them. -------------------- Hybrid Perfect Dodge/Critical Assassin -------------------- A Hybrid assassin should now go to izlude to fight in bibiland dungeon level 2 until they reach the job level required to be an assassin. Money is a big factor in this build, even Jellopys are important. Pick up any item you see even if it is just a jellopy. Orc Dungeon is not a good place for this build because you will waste too much money on pots. While leveling in Bibiland try to stay in small places, like behind the lv.3 entrance. I have found more enemies fighting around the lv.3 entrance than anywhere else in Bibiland. You'll get very lonely at times if you want to get out of the dungeon DO NOT WALK OUT. When you see that there is no people around you this is a signal for a giant group of Hydras somewhere up above. -------------------- Max Attack Speed Build -------------------- A ASPD assassin should now go to izlude to fight in bibiland dungeon level 2 until they reach the job level required to be an assassin. Orc Dungeon would be a decent place for this build. You will make a measly profit but you will get ALOT of experience. If you want to fight in Orc Dungeon I suggest you fight with a group of people. -------------------- Base Lv.65 -------------------- At this point All types should now be Assassins. -------------------- Critical Assassin -------------------- A new critical assassin should head to the Coal Mine to fine a 3-Slotted Jur. After you buy of find the jur head down to an upgrade NPC and upgrade it till it is a +7 Jur. After you are done upgrading head north to Payon. Once in Payon check if anyone is selling any of the equipment you need and if so buy it. If no one has the equipment you need head to payon dungeon. You should stick to payon dungeon level 2 and 3. These 2 levels have monsters that will help you get important pieces of equipment. The skeleton soldier should drop the 3 cards you need for your Jur and the Munaks should drop the ninja suits which will help you get zenny. If the exp seems to get slow just go deeper into the dungeon, but beware of the Moonlight. -------------------- Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- Just like a new critical assassin a perfect dodge assassin should head to the coal mine to find a 3-Slotted Jur. After the Jur is bough head down to Alberta and upgrade it till it is a +7 Jur. The skeleton soldiers should drop some rare items and the Munaks should drop the ninja suits which will help you get zenny. -------------------- Hybrid Perfect Dodge/Critical Assassin -------------------- Just like the others a Hybrid assassin should head to the coal mine to find a 3-Slotted Jur. After the Jur is bough head down to Alberta and upgrade it till it is a +7 Jur. The skeleton soldiers should drop the Skeleton soldier cards you need and the Munaks should drop the ninja suits which will help you get zenny. -------------------- Max Attack Speed Build -------------------- Just like the others an ASPD should head to the coal mine to find a 3-Slotted Jur. After the Jur is bough head down to Alberta and upgrade it till it is a +7 Jur. The skeleton soldiers should drop the Skeleton soldier cards you need and the Munaks should drop the ninja suits which will help you get zenny. -------------------- Base Lv.70 -------------------- -------------------- Critical Assassin -------------------- After acquiring the cards head to Geffen. You will now have to hunt Kobolds which spawn 2 screens west of Geffen and Petites which are 1 screen east of Glast Heim. From the Kobolds you will need 2 Kobold Cards which will add 10% critical rate. You will need to hunt the Petites until they drop 2 clips. Once they do insert the Kobold Cards into them and equip them. -------------------- Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- After acquiring the cards head to Geffen. Petites, which spawn 1 screen east of Glast Heim. You will need to hunt the Petites until they drop 2 clips. Once they do insert your Yoyo Cards into your clips and equip them. -------------------- Hybrid Perfect Dodge/Critical Assassin -------------------- After acquiring the Skeleton Soldier cards head to Prontera. You will now have to hunt Yoyos which spawn 1 screen north and 1 east of prontera. From the Yoyos you will need 2 Yoyo Cards which will add 10% perfect dodge rate and 2 agi. You will also need to hunt the Petites until they drop 2 clips. Petites spawn 1 screen east of Glast Heim. Once you get the clips insert the Yoyo Cards into them and equip them. -------------------- Max Attack Speed Build -------------------- After acquiring the Skeleton Soldier cards head to Prontera. You may also want to get the zenny necessary to buy a Ghost Bandana in the streets. If you don't see anyone selling one, you will have to find one. -------------------- Base Lv.75 -------------------- -------------------- Critical Assassin -------------------- After you got the cards that add to criticals go hunt in Pyramids Basement 1 and 2. While you are here try and get your slotted thieves clothes. Skeleton Archers are very annoying, so always kill them first. If you see a mob anywhere near you grimtooth it to death. -------------------- Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- After you get the cards needed you will now have to get a whisper card. This will be the toughest card to get. Whispers are immune to ALL physical attacks, rendering your assassin useless. You have to do one of the following to get the Whisper card a) Buy it at an insane price. b) Get it from a friend. c) Get it from another character d) Use an elemental Dagger e) Try using envenom to kill the Whispers. You will also need to get your slotted thieves clothes by killing mummies in the Pyramids. The most important task is now at hand. You will now have to fight Phreeoni infinite amount of times until you get your fortune swords. -------------------- Hybrid Perfect Dodge/Critical Assassin -------------------- Do the same as the Perfect Dodge Assassin. -------------------- Max Attack Speed Build -------------------- Do the same as the Perfect Dodge Assassin. -------------------- Base Lv.80 -------------------- -------------------- Critical Assassin -------------------- Now that you have your equipment you should now be an MVP machine. You can now hunt anywhere you want and only have trouble in place with mobs. -------------------- Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- At this point you should have all your equipment and cards. You should now be able to dominate mobs easily. You will never be touched. -------------------- Hybrid Perfect Dodge/Critical Assassin -------------------- At this point you will take mobs on decently and you will be a critical machine. -------------------- Max Attack Speed Build -------------------- You are the quickest thing in Midgard. You should get 4 hits in every second. 80% of your hits will be criticals and you will hit most of the time because of the high hit rate. You will fare decently against mobs and you will be able to dodge most things. If you want to be really fast use sonic blow as often as you can. -------------------- Alternating Critical/Perfect Dodge Assassin -------------------- Well here’s the best part about being an assassin. With the right amount of money you can change a critical assassin into a decent perfect dodge assassin and vice-versa. When you want to kill mobs, use the perfect dodge build. When you are going MVP hunting be a critical assassin. ==================== VI.
