DRAGONBALL Z BUDOKAI 3 - SAIYAN GUIDE This guide was written in Courier font size 10. _______________________________________________________________________________ Content 1 - Intro (I1) 2 - Character Guide Layout (CGL2) 3 - Character Guide (CG3) 4 - Fusion Characters (FC4) 5 - Dragon Universe Guide Layout (DL5) 6 - Dragon Universe Guide a: Goku (DG6a) b: Kid Gohan (DG6b) c: Teen Gohan (DG6c) d: Gohan (DG6d) e: Vegeta (DG6e) f: Broly (DG6f) 7 - Capsule Guide Layout (CL7) 7 - Capsule Guide a: Equipment Capsules (CG8a) b: Item Capsules (CG8b) 8 - Copyright & Contact Details (CC9) _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Intro (I1) I’ve wanted to do a game guide for a while now but due to college taking up a lot of my time I’ve haven’t had the chance until recently. The reason I decided on Budokai 3 was because I wanted to do a guide on a game that I enjoyed and was experienced at playing but was also quite short so that I could do it in the spare time available to me. I chose to focus the guide on the Saiyan fighters as they’re my favourite fighters in the game. Final Update - This will be the last major update of the guide. I've added a new section detailing all the equipment and item capsules and their effects. I've added details about the amount of damage done by techniques when using the Breakthrough capsule. I've also corrected some flaws in the previous parts of the guide. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Character Guide Layout (CGL2) Controls: P = Punch (Square button) K = Kick (Triangle button) G = Guard(X button) E = Ki Blast (Circle button) > = Right directional button < = Left Directional button Gained: How the fighter is gained, "Automatically" refers to fighters available at the start of the game. Character Note: Basic description of fighter’s abilities and powers. Attack: This is to give a basic example of fighter attack levels and allow comparisons of different fighters. Each attack is always done at the fighter’s base power. level. "Punch" is the damage from a single punch, "Punch Combo" is the damage from a combo of 4 punches, "Kick" is the damage from a single kick, "Kick Combo" is the damage from a combo of 5 kicks (This combo, although hitting with 5 kicks, is activated by pressing K 4 times). Attack Note: Specific information about a fighter’s attack. Transformations: This lists the transformation name, the attack increase from the previous form and the total attack increase from the original form. Transformation Note: Specific information about a fighter’s transformations. Techniques: This lists the name of a technique, and the amount of damage done. The damage done by attacks is altered depending on the combo used to activate them. In the case of Death moves I used the E combo to activate them. In the case of Dragonrush moves I used the P+K combo to activate them. "Single" and "Double" refer to whether 1 or 2 copies of a technique have been equipped. "Triple" refers to when the Breakthrough capsule is equipped. "W/Ki" refers to Goku’s and Vegeta’s second death-moves, where pressing >E at the end of the combo will cause a ki attack to be used. "Win" and "Loss" refer to Attack win and Defence win during Ultimate Attacks. Beside the names of the UA, the required transformations are listed. "Equipped" is when a transformation has been equipped without being used i.e. Goku’s Super Spirit Bomb, Goku needs SS equipped but must be in normal or Kaoiken form to use the attack. "Requires" is when a fighter needs to be in a specific or higher form to activate the attack i.e. Vegeta’s Big Bang Attack can only be used when Vegeta is in SS form or higher. "Gained" is when an attack can only be gained in a specific form i.e. Goku’s Spirit Bomb will change to Super Dragon Fist when Goku goes to SS or higher. Technique Note: Specific information about a fighter’s techniques. Ability Capsules: List of fighter’s ability capsules. Equipment Capsules: List of fighter’s equipment capsules. This only lists fighter specific capsules and their effects, capsules like rage, which are available to all fighters have been listed in a seperate section. Skill Setups: This is a list of suggested skill setups for a fighter. Spelling note: Although I’ve used English U.K. when writing this guide, some of the capsule names are in English U.S., and I’ve used those spellings in this guide. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Character Guide (CG3) Goku - Gained: Automatically Character Note: Goku is you’re basic good all-rounder, he has decent attack power and good speed. Unfortunately, he has the same flaw as he had in the previous Budokai games, to many transformations. So you’re forced to choose between lots of transformations and few techniques or multiple techniques and few transformations. Saying that, whatever option you choose Goku is usually powerful enough to win most fights. Attack: Punch - 30 dmg Punch Combo - 127 dmg Kick - 50 dmg Kick Combo - 215 dmg Transformations: Total Kaioken - 5% increase 105% SS1 - 5% increase 110% SS2 - 5% increase 115% SS3 - 10% increase 125% SS4 - 15% increase 140% Techniques: Kamehameha Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Dragon Fist(requires Kaioken) Single - 261 dmg W/Ki - 429 dmg Double - 324 dmg W/Ki - 534 dmg Triple - 392 dmg W/Ki - 644 dmg Warp Kamehameha Single - 1470 dmg Double - 1685 dmg Triple - 1900 Spirit Bomb(No higher than Kaioken, w/o SS equipped) Single Win - 1000 dmg Single Loss - 600 dmg Double Win - 1250 dmg Double Loss - 750 dmg Super Spirit Bomb(No higher than Kaioken, SS equipped) Single Win - 1540 dmg Single Loss - 800 dmg Double Win - 1925 dmg Double Loss - 1000 dmg Triple Win - 2310 dmg Triple Loss - 1200 Super Dragon Fist(Gained SS) Single Win - 1100 dmg Single Loss - 330 dmg Double Win - 1375 dmg Double Loss - 412 dmg Triple Win - 1650 dmg Triple Loss - 495 dmg 10xKamehameha(Gained SS4) Single - 602 dmg Double - 751 dmg Triple - 903 dmg Technique Note: Spirit Bomb - Spirit Bomb cannot be used when Breakthrough is equipped, as Breakthough gives Goku all his transformations, Super Spirit Bomb will be used instead. Super Dragon Fist - The Spirit Bomb changes into Super Dragon Fist when Goku transforms to SS or higher. 10xKamehameha - Kamehameha changes to 10xKamehameha when Goku transforms to SS4. Ability Capsules: Kaioken, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan 4, Kamehameha, Dragon Fist, Warp Kamehameha, Spirit Bomb, Fusion , Fusion , Potara , Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Z-Sword - 10% attack increase. Although he doesn’t have any transformations, using just two of his equipment capsules can make him even more powerful than an SS4. Kid Goku is one of the few characters equipped with a weapon and can be used for multiple moves. The combo attack is initiated by

E, doing so will cause Kid Goku to repeat the Rock Punch multiple times. I haven’t recorded the dmg from doing this because it can be activated at any point in the combo. Also using >P,P,P,P will cause Kid Goku to just use a single Rock Punch while yelling Paper, replicating a scene from the Dragon ball anime. Ability Capsules: Kamehameha, Rock-Scissors-Paper, Super Dragon Fist, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Juice! - 10% attack increase. Vest From Grandpa Gohan - 10% defence increase. Vest With Hole For Tale - 20% defence increase. Turtle School Vest - 30% defence increase. Kami's Vest - 40% defence increase. Full Moon's Glow - Attack increase over four stages every ten secs. Attack starts at 110% then 120%, 130% and 140%. Going All-out!! - 25% attack increase, 30% defence increase, disables guard. Grandpa Gohan's Teachings - Decrease ki consumption in Hyper mode. Skill Setups: 1 - Kamehamehax2, Rock-Scissors-Paper, Super Dragon Fistx2 Full Moon’s Glow, Going All-out!! Max Power: 165% 2 - Kamehamehax2 Super Dragon Fistx2, Juice!, Full Moon’s Glow, Going All-out!! Max Power: 175% 3 - Kamehamehax2, Juice!, Full Moon’s Glow, Going All-out!!, Overtension Max Power: 205% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kid Gohan - Gained: Automatically Character Note: Kid Gohan is one of the weaker fighters in the game; he only has a basic transformation and basic death move to use. His one advantage is that his punch combos do more damage than normal. The best way to fight as Kid Gohan is to equip a lot of equipment and item capsules and rely heavily on his speed to pull off combo and dragon rush attacks during a fight. Attack: Punch - 29 dmg Punch Combo - 148 dmg Kick - 48 dmg Kick Combo - 203 dmg Transformations: Total Unlock Potential - 5% increase 105% Techniques: Masenko Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Ability Capsules: Unlock Potential, Masenko, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Fruits of Training - 10% attack increase. Mixed Blood Power - 8% attack increase, 8% defence increase. Ultimate Power - Attack/Defence increase over four stages every ten secs. Attack starts at 106% then 112%, 118% and 124%. Defence starts at 108% then 116%, 124% and 132%. Power Near The Limit - 45% attack increase when health reaches 1/6. The increase goes down if Kid Gohan is healed. Dende's Recovery - Damage taken is reduced in exchange for ki. Chi-Chi's Wish - Decrease ki consumption in Hyper mode. Skill Setups: 1 - Unlock Potential, Masenkox2, Fruits of Training, Evil Training Uniform, Mixed Blood Power Max Power: 123% 2 - Masenko, Fruits of Training, Mixed Blood Power, Senzu Bean Max Power: 118% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Teen Gohan - Gained: Complete Kid Gohan’s Dragon Universe Character Note: Teen Gohan is an average all rounder, he still has Kid Gohan’s powerful punch combo as well as an improved kick combo. Even though he is not that short he still acts like one of the small characters meaning that he’s got better than average speed, he also has one of the most powerful ultimate attacks in the game. Unfortunately, despite the powerful attacks and the lack of any obvious disadvantage, Teen Gohan will never be one of the better fighters. Attack: Punch - 29 dmg Punch Combo - 148 dmg Kick - 48 dmg Kick Combo - 216 dmg Tranformations: Total SS1 - 5% increase 105% SS2 - 10% increase 115% Techniques: Kamehameha Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Soaring Dragon Strike(Requires SS2) Single - 460 dmg Double - 574 dmg Triple - 690 dmg Father-Son Kamehameha(Requires SS2) Single win - 1610 dmg Single Loss - 920 dmg Double Win - 2012 dmg Double Loss - 1150 dmg Triple Win - 2415 dmg Triple Loss - 1380 dmg Ability Capsules: Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Kamehameha, Soaring Dragon Strike, Father-Son Kamehameha, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Fruits of Training - 10% attack increase. Dende's Recovery - Damage taken is reduced in exchange for ki. Meditation - 40% decrease in the amount of ki used by techniques. Chi-Chi's Wish - Decrease ki consumption in Hyper mode. Skill Setups: 1 - SS1-2, Kamehamehax2, Soaring Dragon Strike Mixed Blood Power Max Power: 123% 2 - SS1-2 Kamehamehax2, Father-Son Kamehameha, Fruits of Training, Mixed Blood Power Max Power: 133% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gohan - Gained: Complete Teen Gohan’s Dragon Universe Character Note: Gohan is one of the best fighters in the game; his attack power is the same as Goku’s except for more powerful Kick Combos. Although his abilities seem fairly similar to Teen Gohan’s, there are a couple of noticeable differences. His Soaring Dragon Strike doesn’t require SS2 and although it does less damage than Teen Gohan’s version it does send an opponent into the air allowing for pursuit attacks. His ultimate attack is weaker as well but his more powerful transformations make up for that. Like Teen Gohan, Gohan has no obvious disadvantages. Attack: Punch - 30 dmg Punch Combo - 127 dmg Kick - 50 dmg Kick Combo - 223 dmg Transformations: Total SS1 - 10% increase 110% SS2 - 5% increase 115% Elder Kai Unlock Ability - 15% increase 130% Techniques: Kamehameha Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Soaring Dragon Strike Single - 380 dmg Double - 474 dmg Triple - 570 dmg Super Kamehameha(Requires SS) Single Win - 1320 dmg Single Loss - 880 dmg Double Win - 1650 dmg Double Loss - 1100 dmg Triple Win - 1980 dmg Triple Loss - 1320 dmg Ability Capsules: Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Elder Kai Unlock Ability, Kamehameha, Soaring dragon Strike, Super Kamehameha, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Z-sword - 10% attack increase. His one main advantage in a fight is his 2 death moves, Justice Punch does more damage than a normal death move and both are very effective at causing ring outs during tournament fights. Unlike other fighters, Saiyaman has no armour in his equipment capsules. Attack: Punch - 30 dmg Punch Combo - 137 dmg Kick - 50 dmg Kick Combo - 227 dmg Techniques: Justice Punch Single - 300 dmg Double - 374 dmg Triple - 450 dmg Justice Kick Single - 300 dmg Double - 374 dmg Triple - 450 dmg Justice Pose - 0 dmg, Halves opponents Ki, increases own attack by 5% (can only increase three times) Ability Capsules: Justice Punch, Justice Kick, Justice Pose, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Videl’s Kiss - 10% attack increase. He has a standard Kamehameha, a Super Saiyan transformation and a second death move, Charge, but it’s not very reliable. Dende's Recovery - Damage taken is reduced in exchange for ki. Ki Control - 20% decrease in the amount of ki used by techniques. Chi-Chi's Wish - Decrease ki consumption in Hyper mode. Skill Setups: 1 - SS, Kamehamehax2, Fruits of Training, Training Vest, Mixed Blood Power Max Power: 128% 2 - Kamehameha, Overtension, Senzu Bean Max Power: 130% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vegeta - Gained: Beat Vegeta in Goku’s Dragon Universe Character Note: Vegeta is one of the best fighters in the game, he can achieve the same power level as Goku but only requires 3 transformations compared to Goku’s 5. Although his ultimate attack isn’t as powerful as Goku’s, he has more space in the custom tray to set capsules. Attack: Punch - 30 dmg Punch Combo - 123 dmg Kick - 50 dmg Kick Combo - 259 dmg Transformations: Total SS1 - 10% increase 110% SS2 - 5% increase 115% SS4 - 25% increase 140% Majin - 25% increase 125% Techniques: Galick Gun Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Final Impact Single - 220 dmg W/Ki - 370 dmg Double - 274 dmg W/Ki - 461 dmg Triple - 330 dmg W/Ki - 555 dmg Final Flash Single - 1570 dmg Double - 1795 dmg Triple - 2020 dmg Big Bang Attack(Requires SS) Single Win - 1200 dmg Single Loss - 660 dmg Double Win - 1511 dmg Double Loss - 825 dmg Triple Win - 1815 dmg Triple Loss - 990 dmg Final Shine(Gained SS4) Single - 602 dmg Double - 751 dmg Triple - 903 dmg Atomic Blast(Gained Majin) 500 dmg Final Explosion(Gained Majin) Win - Automatic Victory Loss - Automatic Loss Techniques Note: Final shine - Galick Gun changes to Final Shine when Vegeta transforms into SS4 Majin - Atomic Blast and Final Explosion are gained automatically in this form, if Galick Gun and Big Bang Attack are already equipped they will be replaced. He is a fairly standard fighter. Trunks is one of the few fighters equipped with a weapon, his sword combos can be activated with >P+K and do a decent amount of damage. Attack: Punch - 30 dmg Punch Combo - 123 dmg Kick - 50 dmg Kick Combo - 259 dmg Attack Note: Kick Combo - Trunks can only use his 5 kick combo in the air, while on the ground his fourth kick will knock the opponent into the air ending the combo. The ground combo does 253 dmg. Fairly similar to Goten with a Super Saiyan transformation and standard death move. Unlike Goten, Kid Trunks’ second death move is fairly useful and the finishing blow in the attack sends the opponent into the air, allowing Kid Trunks to teleport after them and use pursuit attacks. Attack: Punch - 29 dmg Punch Combo - 118 dmg Kick - 48 dmg Kick Combo - 207 dmg Attack Note: Like Trunks, Kid Trunks’ Kick combo ends on the fourth blow sending the opponent into the air. Unlike Trunks, Kid Trunks will attack with 4 hits whether on the ground or in the air. His powerful combos and second death move make up for the lack of an ultimate attack. He's not the fastest fighter but his speed isn't bad and he has good reach. The best way to fight using Raditz is to use death moves from a distance, when up close side step the other fighter’s combos and death moves and strike before the opponent’s ready to use another attack. Attack: Punch - 29 dmg Punch Combo - 133 dmg Kick - 54 dmg Kick Combo - 268 dmg Techniques: Double Sunday Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Saturday Crush Single - 400 dmg Double - 500 dmg Triple - 600 dmg Ability Capsules: Double Sunday, Saturday Crush, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Battle Testament - 10% attack increase. The increase goes down if Raditz is healed. Medical Machine - Damage taken is reduced in exchange for ki. Saiyan Spirit - 25% attack increase, 30% defence increase, disable guard. Warrior’s Career - 20% decrease in the amount of ki used by techniques. Loyalty to Frieza - Decrease ki consumption in Hyper mode. Skill Setups: Double Sundayx2, Saturday Crushx2, Battle Testament, Moon Light, Saiyan Spirit Max Power: 155% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nappa - Gained: Automatically Character Note: A fairly substandard fighter despite his high attack. He is probably the slowest fighter in the game. His combos are easy to dodge and he has one of the weakest ultimate attacks in the game. He can hold his own against slower opponents without much difficulty, but the faster fighters can be much more of a problem especially the shorter ones. The best method for winning with Nappa is to keep his ki up and teleport behind opponents when they attack. Attack: Punch - 47 dmg Punch Combo - 179 dmg Kick - 53 dmg Kick Combo - 178 dmg Attack Note: Unlike other characters Nappa can only use a 3 kick combo. Techniques: Bomber DX Single - 250 dmg Double - 312 dmg Triple - 375 dmg Break Cannon Single - 400 dmg Double - 500 dmg Triple - 600 dmg Giant Storm Single Win - 800 dmg Single Loss - 549 dmg Double Win - 1000 dmg Double Loss - 687 dmg Triple Win - 1200 dmg Triple Loss - 825 dmg Ability Capsules: Bomber DX, Break Cannon, Giant Storm, Breakthrough Equipment Capsules: Battle Testament - 10% attack increase. He has no obvious disadvantage and is equally good against all opponents. The only problem with Bardock is that his first death move, Riot Javelin, is a thrown ki ball that will sometimes miss opponents by going over their heads, but that only happens on rare occasions. I generally prefer to go with him in his normal form as even without the transformation he is still one of the most powerful fighters in the game. He has no weaknesses and his one flaw is, as I have already said, the fact that his 2nd death move and ultimate attack are easily dodged. Attack: Punch - 48 dmg Punch Combo - 249 dmg Kick - 60 dmg Kick Combo - 297 dmg Transformation: Total LSS - 20% increase 120% Transformation Note: Unlike other SS transformations, Broly’s is permanent and he cannot revert to his original form. The Attack lists both characters’ attack power in their fused form. Gogeta - Gained: Goku/Vegeta - Before fight against Gotenks in Dragon Universe OR Buy in Skill Shop Character Note: Gogeta is the weakest and least useful of the 3 Goku/Vegeta fusions. Despite good speed and some decent combos he can't really do much damage in the time limit. The one problem with the move is that because its a combo hit an opponent can teleport even while being hit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vegito - Gained: Goku/Vegeta: Before fight against Super Buu w/Gohan absorbed OR Buy in Skill Shop Character Note: Although initially, Vegito might seem to be the weakest of the three fusions, the fact that this fusion is permanent and has a further Super Saiyan transformation means that it far surpasses the Gogeta fusion. Attack: Goku: Punch - 39 dmg Punch Combo - 164 dmg Kick - 65 dmg Kick Combo - 280 dmg Vegeta: Punch - 39 dmg Punch Combo - 159 dmg Kick - 65 dmg Kick Combo - 337 dmg Transformation: Total Fusion - 30% increase 130% Super Vegito - 15% increase 145% Techniques: Goku: Kamehameha normal - 375 dmg fused - 487 dmg Vegeta: Galick Gun normal - 375 dmg fused - 487 dmg Spirit Cannon - 780 dmg Spirit Sword(requires Super Vegito) win - 2175 dmg loss - 1522 dmg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gotenks - Gained: Goten/Kid Trunks: Buy in Skill Shop Character Note: An amped up version of a small fighter, with high speed and high attack. Galactica Donuts - The in-game skills list says that this move can only be done in normal Fused form, but SS is required for this move. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Dragon Universe Guide Layout (DL5) Character/Play/Saga: This DU guide has been split into multiple parts. The guide is first split in to the different characters - Goku, Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan, Gohan, Vegeta and Broly. The character's guide are split into First and Second Play; First Play refers to when the character's DU is completed for the first time, new opponents and options become available when the DU is completed the first time and these are detailed in the Second Play Each Play is split into different Sagas - Saiyan, Namek, Android and Buu. Dragon Radar: The location of the Dragon Radar, each saga will have one Dragon Radar hidden on the map. Dragon Ball: The location of the Dragon Balls, the balls will be spread out through the different sagas of each DU. Note: As the locations are always the same I will only list the Dragon Radar and Dragon Ball locations in the character’s First Play. When collecting the Dragon balls, get the Dragon Radar first, as some of my directions for the Dragon Balls are vague due to the lack of prominent landmarks. Walkthrough: This will describe how to get through the DU, listing opponents, item locations "RD" refers to the Red Dots that appear on the map, these are story events that will usually involve a scene with another character and then there will be an event where the character fights, gets an item, gets a level increase or gets sent back to the map. "Marker" refers to the scenes which can be found on the map but aren’t marked with RDs. The Markers can be seen when using Ki search. The Markers work in the same way as the RDs. There are items on the map that don't have Markers, although I've listed some of these items, most of them haven't been listed. I have listed all the opponents in the DUs, except for those at the Battle Points, normally only the opponents name will be listed but in the case of particularly tough opponents I will also provide some brief strategies on how to beat them. When a capsule is gained from winning a fight it will be listed in brackets beside the opponents name. Difficulty settings: The DU guide was written and completed while playing on Normal and Hard difficulty settings. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Dragon Universe Guide Goku (DG6a) First Play Saiyan Saga Dragon Radar - East of the lake near Central City. Go to the RD then go to the next RD to fuse with Vegeta and become Vegito and get the Potaro capsule then fight Super Buu w/Gohan(Super Buu). Straight away you fight Super Buu(Absorption). Super Buu: This is the games first challenging fight. The 2 main problems are the decreasing health effect and Buu's constant use of Hypermode and Dragon Rush. To deal with the health effect equip an item capsule which can heal Goku's health. Attack Buu straight away and don't bother using Death Moves, Buu will normally only block when hit with a regular attack and even while blocking still take some damage but if a death move is used he will just teleport meaning that he will take no damage and be in a position to attack. Constantly attacking Buu is the best way to make sure he can't use Hypermode, should Buu achieve Hypermode don't bother blocking instead just dodge and sidestep. Go to the RD for the fight against Kid Buu(Kid Buu). Kid Buu: Although not as tough as the last fight it can still be difficult to win at times. Like Super Buu, Kid Buu uses Hypermode constantly but he's much tougher to dodge than Super Buu was. He has the same combos that Majin and Super Buu had but he can use them much faster than the other 2 Buus could. Try to keep Goku's Ki high whenever possible and avoid going higher than Kaoiken. The best time to do the most damage to Buu is when he exhausts his Ki during hypermode, attack using Super Spirit Bomb, or Super Dragon Fist if Goku's SS or higher. If you didn't use Super Spirit Bomb then the DU will end at this stage, if you did the DU will be extended. Go to the island south east of Kame house to get the SS4 capsule. Go to the RD for an easy fight against Uub(Uub). Second Play Saiyan Saga Walkthrough - Go to the saiyan ship north of East City to get Bardock as a character. The saga now plays out the same as it did in the First Play till after the fight against Raditz. Go over to Grandpa Gohan's House to get Kid Goku as a character. The saga now finishes in the same way it did in the First Play. Namek Saga Walkthrough - This saga plays out the same as it did in the First Play till after the first fight against Frieza. At this stage, there are now 3 RDs and 3 different Paths to complete the Namek Saga. First go to the island south of the central continent to get the Frieza's Space Ship capsule. RD 1: The south eastern RD will lead you to the SS capsule and the fight against 100% Full Power Frieza(Frieza). RD 2: The south western RD will have a scene with Vegeta defeating Frieza and the next RD will lead to a fight against Super Saiyan Vegeta. Go to the RD then the one after that to fight Cooler(Cooler). Following this path is the only way to get Cooler as a playable character. RD 3: The northern RD will have a scene with Cooler and the next will lead to a fight with Cooler. Go north of Cooler's ship to get the Cooler's Space Ship capsule. Go to the RD and then the next for a fight against Metal Cooler. Android Saga Walkthrough - This saga plays out the same as it did in the First Play. Buu Saga Walkthrough - This saga plays out the same as it did in the First Play till after the fight against Majin Buu. There are now 2 RDs and 2 Paths to complete the Buu saga RD 1: The south western RD will lead to a scene with Kibitoshin. The next RD will lead fusing to become Vegito, getting the Potaro capsule then fighting Super Buu w/Gohan(Super Buu). Straight away you fight Super Buu(Absorption). Super Buu: Goku's higher level means that this fight won't be particularly difficult anymore. Go to the RD and fight Broly(Broly). Go to West City, then go to the new RD to get the Fusion capsule and fight Gotenks. Go to West City to get a caspule then go to the RD to get the fusion capsule and fight Omega Shenron(Omega Shenron) Omega Shenron: Despite being the games ultimate boss Omega Shenron can be fairly easy to beat if you know what you're doing. If you do it right he can be beaten with 2 or 3 Big Bang Kamehamehas each hitting 3-4 times, but if Omega Shenron teleports away to often then the fusion will end with only minimal damage done to Omega Shenron. RD 2:The north eastern RD will lead to fusing with Vegeta to become Vegito, getting the Potaro capsule then fighting Super Buu w/Gohan(Super Buu). Straight away you fight Super Buu(Absorption).Go to the RD for the fight against Kid Buu(Kid Buu) Kid Buu: As with Super Buu, Goku's level should be high enough for Kid Buu to present no real challenge. If you use the Super Spirit Bomb you will go on to face Uub at the World Tournament and end the DU. If you don't use Super Spirit Bomb the DU will end with Buu's defeat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kid Gohan (DG6b) First Play Saiyan Saga Dragon Radar - Located directly north of West city. Walkthrough - Go through the first 4 RDs, these are all story events with no fights. At the 5th RD you will gain the Unlock Potential capsule. The next 3 RDs are also story events with no fights. The next RD will have a fairly easy fight against Recoome(Planet Namek). Go to a small island near where the dragon radar was found to get an item capsule. Go to next RD then the one after that for a fight against Third Form Frieza. At the end of this saga you will gain Teen Gohan as a character. Second Play Saiyan Saga Walkthrough - There are 2 RDs and 2 paths to complete this saga. RD 1: The south western RD will allow you to complete the saga the way it was completed in the First Play. RD 2: The north eastern RD will have a scene with Goku. Go to East City to get a capsule. Go to the RD to fight Goku(Grandpa Gohan's House). Go to West City for an armour capsule, then go to the RD for a fight against a single Saibaman. Go to the next RD for a fight against Nappa. Namek Saga Walkthrough - This saga plays out the same as it did in the First Play till after the fight against Recoome(Planet Namek). There are now 2 RDs RD 1: The eastern RD will allow you to complete the saga the way it was completed in the First Play. RD 2: The western RD will let you fight Goku. Go to the RD to fight Cooler. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Teen Gohan (DG6c) First Play Android Saga Dragon Radar - Along the north east coast of the main continent, between mountains and a forest near the northern half of the snow island. Dragon Ball - 1: Eastern side of the snow island. 2: North of Central City, near a group of 3 houses. 3: Small forested island, west of Central City. 4: Near middle of sea, north of south City. 5: Mountain area, north east of Baba’s Palace. 6: Sea, directly south of South City. 7: Small island, west of Kame House. Go to West City for a scene, then to Kame House than back to West City to get an item capsule. Head to the RD for an easy fight with Piccolo then head to the new RD for an even easier fight against Krillin. Go to the RD to get the Super Saiyan transformation and for a fight with Goku. Go to Kami’s Lookout for an armour capsule, then Korin’s Tower for a capsule and then West City for another capsule. Go to the RD for the first fight against Perfect Form Cell (Cell). Go to the Time Machine in the forest north of Korin’s Tower to get a capsule, then go to the RD for the SS2 capsule, the Father-Son Kamehameha capsule and the final fight against Super Perfect Form Cell (Super Perfect Form). SPF Cell: The game’s first challenging fight for a while, the main problem with this fight is that you have to fight with a preset list of capsules instead of your own customised skill setup meaning that Gohan will be weaker than normal. The 2 best methods for beating Cell are either to keep a lot of distance between them and rely on Ki attacks or stay up close and rely on Gohan’s superior speed. The first method is safest of the 2 but takes the longest to win. The second is my preferred method, up close Gohan’s speed gives him an advantage over Cell the only problem is down to Cell’s longer reach, should he pull away he will be able to hit Gohan quite easily before the gap is closed. Cell will rely on the Spirit Bomb a lot but its easy enough to get a defensive win and minimise the damage. At the end of this saga you will gain Gohan as a character. Second Play Android Saga Walkthrough - This saga plays out the same as it did in the First Play. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gohan (DG6d) First Play Buu Saga Dragon Radar - East side of the lake, just north of Central City.
