The game is for the Playstation 2 and it is currently only available in Japan. This is my first posted walkthrough so I encourage any tips on style or structure. If you would like to contact me my email is mikamikem457@yahoo.com. About the game - #ING The game takes place after the first season of the Ghost in the Shell series in the year 2029. In the Japan in 2029 life is much different. AI has evolved to amazing proportions and some issues have arisen between humans and there artificial counterparts. The movie and series tries to show the potential problems of realistic AI and cause the viewer to contemplate the difference between a robot with a personality and a human. About the guide - #INI This guide is my first posted guide so I am a little new at it. I greatly enjoyed the game and I hope that you will as well. I have listed seek numbers to allow easy searching. If you have any suggestions or changes I would be glad to insert them. Send your name and any changes to me at mikamikem457@yahoo.com. Version History - #INH Version 0.95 - (4/16/04) - cheatcc.com, cheatplanet.com, and neoseeker.com are also hosting the guide now and I have added the information about saving in the FAQ and also a new pickup has been added. Version 0.9 - (4/9/04) - I have updated the pickup section so everything I know of is included. If you see anything I am missing please tell me at mikamikem457@yahoo.com. Version 0.8 - (4/4/04) - The guide is posted today with almost everything done. I need to work on the story section however I don't know Japanese so I need help! Also I am having trouble getting the game to run so I can't get the sniper model name and I think there is a second rocket launcher however I don't have a name for that yet either. If anyone can help post on the message boards or email me. If you can help me out please email me at mikamikem457@yahoo.com. Training - #TRU Walking - #TRW First off, all throughout the training and the real game you will see gray dots with a distance marked on them. Whenever you see those you usually need to go there, unless there is something to pick up before that. In this first section of the training course you simply need to follow the gray dots. You move with the left analog stick and the camera moves with the right analog stick. After going up the spiral ramps run over the last gray dot and you will move on to the next training area. Crouching - #TRC In this next section you will learn about crouching. This is easy just push in on the left joystick and you will crouch. You don't need to hold it down to stay crouched or even to walk just click it once! After going through the tunnel you move on to the next section. Jumping - #TRJ This section introduces jumping. Jump over the first two steps by hitting R2 and then go down the other side to the gray dot to proceed to the next section. Ledges - #TRE In the next room you learn about ledges. Go up to the wall in front of you and jump up (R2) and at the top of the jump press and hold R1. You need to hold down R1 as long as you want to hold onto the ledge. While holding down R1 move the left analog stick to the right and when you get to where the cliff stops and there is a ledge push up on the left analog stick to climb on. Head forward to the gray dot to continue. Ladders - #TRA Run up to the ladder in this next room and hold down R1. While holding down R1 you can move up to ascend or down to descend. At the top of the ladder head across the platform and press and hold R1 when you reach the ladder at the other side. This will allow you to descend down the ladder. At the bottom run over the gray dot and you will proceed to the next section. Double Jump - #TRDJ In this section you will learn how to jump off walls. Run in-between the two ledges and face forward (not looking at either ledge). Walk right next to one of the walls and hit jump while pushing the left analog stick in that direction. At the top of the jump hit R2 again and you should jump off that wall and towards the other. If you don't quite make it the first time try again. At the top of the cliff there is a gray dot to finish off this section. Basic Weapons Training - #TRBWT Finally, the part we were all waiting for, Weapons Training. Now this section gets a little interesting as you are required to use the camera to aim. Walk up to the fence area and target an enemy. Press and hold L1 when the target turns red. Kill the three in this room to continue. Sniper Training - #TRST In here run to the sniper rifle lying on the ground. Press X to pick up the gun and then press Triangle to switch your main weapon to the sniper rifle. Walk up to the fence and press in on the right analog stick. Press the right analog stick once more to zoom in farther and another time to zoom out. Firing the sniper rifle is the same as firing any other gun, just use the L1 button to shoot. Take out the three enemies here to continue. Close Combat - #TRLC Here you need to beat up a guy that for whatever reason will not fight back (Hehe). Simply run up to each enemy and hit L2 repeatedly to take them out. After they are all dead you are done with this section. Grenade Training - #TRGT Now this is fun! Grenades take a little getting used to but they are incredibly fun. Walk over to the pile and pick them up (X). Make sure to hit Square to change the secondary weapon to the grenades. Then aim for the group on the right with the camera and press L2 to throw it. Kill all the enemies in the room and you can continue. Dodging Attacks - #TRDA This section is probably the hardest of the training missions. If you want to try to get up close and personal with the enemies you can try (I have managed to kill two of the enemies), however you just need to survive for 30 seconds so you can just hang out at the one end running back and forth and taking no damage at all! Hacking - #TRH In here move over to the dead enemy laying on the ground with a gray arrow above him. Press (O) and then move back so you can see the enemy standing on the second step completely. When the arrow is flashing Blue you can hack into him by pressing (O). Once you have hacked into him the only thing the game will let you do is hit (O) to kill him. After this the training is over. Walkthrough - #WAU Mission 01 - #WAM1U After the intro you receive a call from Aramaki and you find yourself on top of a ledge. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM1F1 Jump onto the crates to the left and proceed to the end of the row. From here aim for the fan which is on a beam at the top of the building in front of you. From here jump down to the ground and either head straight up the road and kill the man lying there or go off to the right side and take him out from a higher altitude. It doesn't matter which way you go just take him out and head for where he was standing. Next to him is a computer, hack it with the (O) button and you will be able to get inside with another press of the (O) button next to the gate. In this area head to the left container and crouch behind it. Then look around the corner to see if the enemy is still there. As soon as he goes around the corner run around and take him out. Then another guard will come to the spot he died from the left and you need to take him out as well. After that pick up the ammo and the SMG27 and head to the left going over to a ledge that is only one container high. Jump onto it and crouch and then target the enemy to the left. Take him out and go after the enemy that runs in after. Then head over to the crate with an enemy on top. Take him out, jump on top of the crate if his body is up there, grab the grenade, and head around the corner to the right. Once here follow the gray dot to the computer. Hack the computer and it will start the crane up. Side Area If you look to your right there is a small opening between two stacks of crates. If you jump and bounce between them starting with the right side you can get to the top. At the top head to the left crate that is somewhat higher using the ledge grabbing technique. Then jump and grab the ledge across the long gap and walk to the left. This area is a side area and you can get an AS17 and a HUD update for this area. After killing the enemy on the ground take the gun and then hack his nano-implants to get the HUD update. Then go to the platform with another enemy on top and, facing the water, jump from the left side up. After taking out the guard go back and up the ledge so that you can get on top of the extra large stack. Then look towards the water and you should see a smaller stack next to the one you are on. Jump to that stack and then across the gap grabbing the ledge. From here jump down and you should be next to the computer terminal again. Turn right and head straight back the way you came. Now the crane should be moving and you should see a pile of boxes that the crane moves around. Climb the boxes and wait at the top for the crane to come back. When it gets relatively close jump towards it and hold R1 to grab onto the ledge. Then pull yourself up and jump to the next ledge ahead. When the crane gets close to the far ledge jump off the top and onto the crate stack. Once on the stack take out the enemy across the gap and then turn right. From here jump across the gap and grab the ledge ahead. Now head all the way over to the end of this row of crates. From here wait for an enemy to come towards you and then take him out. Head forward a bit and look for a blue crate only one high. Jump up this crate onto the ledge with a guard. Take out the guard and jump back down. Head across the area to your right and you should see a similar stack with a guard on top. Take him out as well and then look to your left. Head towards the ledge where the previous guard was on. In the next section there are three guards. The first is visible at all times because he is level with you straight across the area. The second and third are on the ground and do laps of about half the area. The first guard on the ground will walk right in front of you. Take him out when he is close and then move to your left behind the crates. If you were quick the second guard on the ground shouldn't be visible. You need to go right next to the crate with a guard standing on top of it. Once there the second guard should walk right next to you and you can take him out. To take out the last guard I jumped onto the crane on the right side (facing the big door) and waited until it got to the same spot as the guard. You just need to jump and grab the ledge near one of the wheels you don't need to go extra high. After the guards are dead you can go over to the big metal door and press the button. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM1F2 Go left from the button and around the crate to the far corner. Stand here and face the building and the second fan should be very close to you. After you press the button head over to the left side of the crane (facing away from the door) and jump onto the yellow platform in the middle. From there wait until the crane is next to a ledge and jump on. Jump off the ledge you are on in the direction of the gray dot and head up the ledge that used to have a guard on it and run and jump into the gray dot to continue. Once in this new section jump off the ledge you are on and head for the right side of the small area you are in. Jump towards the darker section of the wall and jump off and forward to get onto the next ledge. This may take a few tries as it is a tricky jump, but it is doable. From here jump across to the ledge of the stack across the gap. There is one guard to the right you need to take out. Hack the guard to get the HUD update for this area. Turn left and you should see a stack of two crates to your right. There should be a guard on top of the stack to your left and more guards on the other side. Jump off the two- crate stack and onto the ledge with a guard (you need to grab the ledge to make it). Take out the guard and then jump back to the ledge behind you (opposite from the ledge with a guard on it). Shoot the guard a few times until his arrow turns blue and then hack him. From here take out all the guards in the area. Now head over there and collect the SMG27 ammo, a grenade, and a restoration kit. Flip the switch and head back to where you took out the first guard in this area. From here head into the elevator and activate it to continue. This next section gets a little interesting as there is a total of eight guards here and they are very close together. First head around the left side of the tower in front of you. You should get a call. At this point look to the right of the stack of crates across the area. When you see a guard back off to almost the place you started at, but so you can still see the left side of the stack. From here wait until you see another guard come around that side. Once he rounds the corner run for him and take him out. Hack him to get the HUD update and then head for the safety of the V-shaped stack next to you (probably to your right). From here wait and watch the HUD to watch another guard come around in the same path. When he rounds the corner take him out and then go to the right side of the V. Watch for a guard to come around the right corner (look through the chain fence). First he will come from the right to the left and then left to right. After he goes left to right sneak over to the crate and jump to the top. Take out the guard here and wait for the other guard to show up. Take him out and then jump back up to the ledge. From here wait until there is no one in front of you and then jump down from the ledge. After falling to the ground you need to move into the elevator to the right. Once inside wait for a guard to walk in-between the elevator and the water side of the area. Once he is there head out and attack him. Now run back past the elevator and up on top of the stack of crates. Watch for one man to go off to the right to a side area. From here wait until the two guards closest start walking away and then run for the lone guard. After taking him out grab the 10 Gauge ammo if you need it and then watch for another guard to come very close to you. When the guard is between the tower and the fence move in to attack. After quickly taking him out head for the stair area and get underneath the stairs. Grab the restoration kit if you need it and then wait under the stairs for another guard. Immediately move towards the tower and not the stairs. One guard will come around to meet you and you can take him out easily. After that it's just one-on-one with the last guard. I have managed to take out all the guards without being seen once, but it is much easier said than done. After the guards are gone head up the stairs and activate the panel. Then head back to the elevator (not the one closest to the stairs) and travel up to continue. Head out and do a U-Turn to find a ladder. Climb the ladder and go half-way across the bridge. Look to your right and you should see three platforms suspended above the ground. Jump from platform to platform until you reach the other bridge. These jumps are tricky so don't worry if you fall a few times. Head down the bridge to the left and you should see a switch. Activate it without killing the guard (don't worry he's blind) and the alarm will go off. At this point there are annoying helicopter gun robots that fly around. You need to aim really well to take them out, but it isn't impossible. After taking out the guard grab the HUD update and take out the helicopter robots. Then head down to where the guard originally was. On the left side of the bridge is another section of suspended platforms. Jump across this section and take out the two guards there. Jump across the next section of suspended platforms and take out the two human guards and the two (one per side of the platform) helicopter robots. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM1F3 Go to the opposite side of the platform you are on and you should see a block of cement blocking your way. Walk backwards and look up until you can see the very front end of the metal casing. Jump to the beam and grab on to get on top of the case. From here jump forward to the cement block and then look to your left. The cement block on the other platform is where the last fan is so shoot it and then head back to the platform and to the other side. Then walk over to the ladder, activate the computer and descend. Activate the panel and the elevator will descend. This section of the level is somewhat difficult as there are snipers in three spots. You can tell if you are in range of a snipe by a laser flashing around you. You must move almost constantly in order to avoid these. First run forward and start going to the right. You should see a crane and right next to it a single teal crate. Run to the left of this crate and take out the guard there. After that take out the two remaining guards in the area who are both right around the corner of the next stack of crates going clockwise. Grab the HUD update from the second guard and get the restoration kit if you need it. From here you should see a crane and two large stacks of boxes. Move between the two and you should see a large tower. On top of the tower is a guard with a blue arrow above him. Hack him and take out the other two snipers with his sniper rifle. You can also have him jump to his death to get rid of him and gain a sniper rifle for later use. After the snipers are gone head back to where you started and head to the left. This area is now accessible with the lack of snipers. Going around to the left side of the farthest left crate stack you should see a guard coming around the corner. The two guards that are left are very easy to take out. Just wait until one is alone and move in. From here you can grab a restoration kit by the sniper tower and then continue by jumping onto the one crate section. In here jump down and go under the crane. If the guard on the ground sticks around take him out otherwise climb the stack to get to the other guard. Grab the HUD update and then head to the right to take out the guard there. If you haven't taken out the guard by the crane do that now and then get the sniper rifle (if you dropped it earlier). With the sniper rifle head towards the crane and then climb the stack to the tallest section. You may want to jump back to the section behind you (facing the building) so you wont be noticed. Then take out the guards on the roof with your snipe and jump back down towards the crane. If you didn't get the snipe just follow the rest of the instructions and take out the guards on the roof when you get up there. Head toward the fence and turn right. The blue crates to your right should have a section where they decrease to one crate. Jump onto this section and then bounce up the cliff to the top. From here jump over the fence and take out the three guards here. Then head back to the front of the building (the side with the fence) and jump onto the ledge over the door. Climb the ladder to the roof and take out any guards still alive and then go over to the robot and hack in. This will finish mission 1. Mission 02 - #WAM2U Head to the left and around the corner, activate the panel and then take out the three robot guards. Take out the four remaining guards in the area and then head for the area with a barricade type gate. Activate the control panel and then head up the ramp. At the top of the ramp take out the robot guard and then the human guard (he has a grenade launcher which hurts more than a machine gun). Then take out the two remaining robot guards. Make sure to grab the guns, the HUD update, and activate the green computer screen on the left side of the wall. You can take out the robots from the side you are currently on with the grenade launcher. If you don't get them all thats alright just take them out with your machine gun. Jump on to the narrow metal strip to get across the gap. Take out the remaining robot guards and the one human guard. Head over to the right and grab the restoration kit and activate the panel. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM2F1 Look to your right above the wooden fence and on the far right side should be the first fan. Now walk back across the thin metal strip to get to the door for the stairs. Run up the stairs, skip the first door and head straight for the second. Take out the first enemy you see right across from you to get the HUD update. Take out the one human guard left and hack the other behind a wall and then proceed back to where the first guard was. After crossing the metal strip there are six guards that come in pairs so take each out as you make your way around the semi-circle. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM2F2 After taking out the guards on this level go as far back around the circle as you can and their should be a gate blocking the upper level. Get close to the gate and look to your left. Their should be a fence on the other side of the gate and the fan is on top of that. At the end of the route there is a walkway to the right. Get on and walk across it taking the right path. Then at the end of the path descend the ladder. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM2F3 The final fan for this mission is at the bottom of the ladder. Turn around and look above the wooden fence at the far right side. The fan should be there. Jump onto the skinny metal platform and walk forward until you see a red SUV on the left side. There is a sniper dressed in white hiding just visible there. Take him out and head across the rest of the platform. Once across take out all the guards to the left. Head back towards the objective and take out a guard hiding in-between the van and the wall. After that take out the few guards further along but don't go around the second corner yet. There are two snipers hiding there and they are easy to take out if you know how. First peek around the corner to line up vertically the first sniper. Then sneak around the corner and shoot once, quickly retreat, and then shoot again. After that run for the other side of the road and hide behind that wall. Then do the same thing for the second sniper. When you are done head back to the van and examine it. Examine the box and the mission is over. Mission 3 - #WAM3U Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM3F1 Jump straight up and grab the ledge. Pull yourself up and shoot the fan at the end of the beam. Head to the left and hide between one of the crates. Wait until one of the robots comes in front of you and then kill it. Take out the other two with your gun long range. Then come around to the other side to take out the last one. From here head to the door at the opposite end that you entered. Inside climb the stairs until you get to a level with two guards. One should give you a HUD update so get that and then climb more stairs until you have reached the top. Once here head through the door and kill the robot guard and then activate the panel on the right side. As the cube robot head forward and to the left. Head through the door and to the right. Go inside the vent and follow it until you reach the other side of the door. Head to the left and go down the stairs all the way to the bottom. Turn the corner and the robot will start doing something. After you disconnect jump down to the bottom and a call will come in. Head for the second floor and activate the panel. Go down the stairs to the bottom and take out the two guards. Take out the two robot guards per level and then head for the top to activate the computer. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM3F2 Turn around and face the opposite way of the exit. There should be another fan up towards the ceiling in that direction. Next jump all the way down to activate the door. Head forward destroying the two robot guards and activate the switch on the left. Once inside jump onto the iron beam right above you. Once on top jump across the gap to the ledge and pull yourself up. Then head over to the bridge/lift. Jump up towards the ledge above and pull up. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM3F3 Look back towards the entrance and then look up at the ceiling. Way up high is the third fan. Then examine the object in the box. After you examine it some guards show up. I suggest taking them out from up above with a machine gun and then jumping down to collect ammo. Activate the switch and the mission is over. Mission 4 - #WAM4U Head forward and to the right to find a panel with a yellow light on it. Examine it and then go down the stairs. Take out the two guards on the first and second levels and then the two on the bottom. One will give you a HUD update. After you are done head to the first level below the starting point and go to the far left corner. Jump up and grab on to the ledge above. Slide across to the right and land on the ledge below. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM4F1 Walk to the opposite edge of the platform and look at the stair-type rocks. Some ways down there is a fan that is so far away you can only just hit it. You need to aim until the target is not crossed out. It may flicker on and off but that will most likely still work. Walk to the end of this platform and then jump up to the ledge above. Slide past the first platform all the way as far as you can go. Land on the skinny walkway and go around the side of the building. To get around the second corner simply jump up and grab the ledge so you can slide around the corner. Do the same to get to the lower ledge and then walk to the far edge of that platform. Look down and find the platform you need to land on and then fall and land on the platform. From here jump down to the building roof and then take out the guard. Get on top of the white box and then jump towards the second roof. Aim for the large outcropping and grab on to the ledge to make it. Take out the guards here and activate the elevator with both switches. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM4F2 This fan is tricky. First head right at the first chance you get. Now go as far into the corner as possible. What you need to do is jump onto the corner fence post. I suggest looking straight down and then jumping and inching the left analog stick slightly to get on. From here you need to move toward the edge as far as possible without falling. Now turn around and look back at where you came. You should see a fence and at about the top of the fence is a fan. Jump up and shoot the fan to collect it. Head into the large building on the right and take out the four human guards here. Then head outside and take care of the two robot helicopter guards. Go down the stairs and take out the guard at the bottom to get a HUD update. Activate the panel at the right end and head back into the building. Activate the elevator buttons to continue. Go left and around the corner to see a long hallway. Jump starting on the right side and bounce up the wall to the platform with a broken ladder attached (don't use the ladder). Then jump and bounce off the left wall onto the platform indicated by the gray dot. Head as far to the right of the platform as you can get and then bounce off the right wall to get to the next ledge. From here shoot the robot on the ledge behind you. Head over to that platform using the ledge above if you want two grenades otherwise continue with the instructions. Head over to the far left ledge and activate the computer. After this jump all the way down and follow the gray dot to the elevator. Activate both buttons to continue. Once up here again go outside and down the stairs to activate the computer again. Head forward and take out the two guards. Get the HUD update and then examine the phone. Head up the stairs and take out the first three guards. The third should give you another HUD update. At the top of the stairs is the active camouflage pickup. Once you get it you only have so much time before you lose it so go straight to the lobby to get the most use out of it. Jump back down to the bottom of the stairs and then head up the second set. At the first fork turn left. There are a few guards here and a whole bunch soon. Take out all the guards on the stairs and then take out all the guards in the lobby area. After they are gone activate the elevator buttons. First jump straight up the hole in the roof. Then once you are on the roof of the elevator get to the right side. This jump is extremely tricky. I suggest trying out the technique on the bottom level first. Jump up to the ledge and hold on. If you are not already over to the right go there now. Then jump and hold forward and right. If you do the move correctly you should go up to the next level. This takes some practice, but it does work. Once at the top take out the two guards and get the HUD update and walk around the exterior ledge. If you accidentally made the first two guards fall you can get the HUD update from the guard on the right ledge. From here look to your left and jump down on to the ledge. Jump up to the next level and kill the three helicopter robots and five human guards. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM4F3 Go back to the start of this platform and find the water tower. Crouch next to it and shoot the fan underneath. Then activate the elevator buttons to finish the level. Mission 5 - #WAM5U Run forward and take out the guards as you go. The one in the middle has a grenade launcher and HUD update which are both very important. Once the guards are down take out the turrets. I actually ended up using the machine gun, however you can use the grenade launcher if you have good aim. Activate the panel to the right first and then take out the turrets. Next head back to the building on the right where the gray dot is selecting. Head down the stairs to the left to get a restoration pack and then activate the elevator buttons. Follow the path until the first split. At the first split go right and then go left. Then go left and up the stairs. Half way down this hall on the left side is a ladder. Go up the ladder and crouch to get into the vents. Follow the path of the vent until you see an open vent at the end. Shoot the two guards and then activate the button. Leave through the door and shoot the guard to get a HUD update. Then fight your way through until you get to the first split. Take the left path and take out the guards there. After they are gone examine the door. Head to the left and down the stairs. Take out the two robot guards and then continue straight. Head up the stairs and take out the robot guards and human guards. Then activate the panel. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM5F1 Turn to your right 1/4 turn and jump up to the level of the ledge above. The fan is up there so jump and shoot to collect it. Head back make a left and continue on until you see a ladder to your right. Take it down and grab the armor after destroying the robot guard. Then head back up and take a left at the top. Head towards the way you came and make a left. Follow the path around and down the stairs and at the bottom go right. Go down the first flight of stairs and take out the two guards there. Then head down the next flight and take out the two guards. Head left at the bottom and at the end of the path activate the elevator buttons. Take a right and go down the stairs. At the bottom go right and take out the four guards to get a HUD update. Head back up the stairs and continue past the elevator. After climbing the next set of stairs follow the path and take a right at the first split. Take out the guards and get the ammo in the room. Head out of the room and at the first split make a right. Head down the stairs and at the bottom make a left. Take out the three guards here and grab the ammo and restoration kit. Activate the button on the console and then head out of the room making a right at the first split. Go up the stairs and then continue straight past the second split and past the elevators. Go down the stairs and into the room at the end of the hall. Head down the flight of stairs and jump into the hole between the orange piece of metal. Head up the tube (not down to your death) and in the door. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM5F2 Before heading through the door look at the rock pile to the right of the door. Jump up onto the first few rocks and look through the hole in the pile to find the second fan. Inside take out the two robot and two human guards and then go left. Take out the one guard at the bottom of the stairs and then go left until you meet a guard and a ladder. Take out the guard and climb the ladder. Enter the room and hit the big button. Now go through the door to continue. From here head right and then at the split go right again. Then on the right side of the hall there is a ladder. You have to face the way you came to see it so once you find it climb it. Go in the vent and at the first split go right to get ammo and left to continue. At the second split go left to get a restoration kit and right to continue. At the end of the vent jump down and take out the guard to the right. Grab the HUD update and then take out the other two guards. Go down the stairs to the right and after the first flight you can hack one of the guards. As the guard take out the other guard standing there and then go past yourself and take out the guard at the bottom of the second flight. As yourself again pick up the ammo where the two guards where hiding and then grab any other ammo from the guards. When you are done head up all four flights of stairs and go left at the top. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM5F3 Before going left at the top head that way a little and look back. You should see a transport and to the right and under the transport there is a fan. Take out the eight guards here and then continue to the door in the direction of the gray dot and then activate the two elevator buttons to continue. Once outside you have to battle a helicopter so good luck there and then the mission is over. Mission 6 - #WAM6U Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM6F1 Turn around from the starting spot and walk to the left of the gate. Look through the grate at a piece of machinery next to the small building. Shoot the fan above it by jumping straight up and shooting. Head forward until you see a small building to your left. Jump onto the smaller machine and then jump up to grab the fence. Once on top of the roof look around for an armor pick-up. Jump off the roof on the right side so you land back on the level you started at. On the far right corner from where you started there should be a section of the fence that juts in. Look down from here and you should see a ledge not too far below. Jump down to here and take out the two guards. Walk around the corner of the building and you should see an opening in the fence. If you look down from there you should be able to see another ledge. Jump down to there and take out the eight guards here and grab the HUD update. Head over to the left side that meets the larger building. There should be, on the right side of this section, a hole in the fence. Look down from here and you should see a platform down and to the left. Jump down to this platform and head for a section of the fence that looks like two metal gates. Jump over them and onto the glass platform below. Turn around and jump down to the next platform taking out the three guards there. There is a guard in the glass tube you stand on that can be hacked to take care of the other three however it is not necessary. Once you are done if you need health go to the far end (opposite the glass tube you came on) and turn right. Jump over the metal object and you can get a restoration kit. When you are done activate the switch by the second door. From here head forward and go through the door to your right. Walk as far as you can away from the door and then jump straight up to grab the ledge above. Walk over and pick up invisibility and then head as far as you can around the building. Jump up facing the building to get onto a thin ledge. Then press jump while still holding down grab and move towards the ledge to your left. From here jump up another level to a thin ledge and repeat to get on to the next balcony. Take out the sleeping guard and pick up the sniper rifle if you want and the HUD update. From here take out the sniper rifle and look for another sniper on a pillar slightly higher than you. If you do all this fast enough the sniper may never see you. From here head up one more level to get two grenades. At the top most ledge look down towards the ground. You should see a ledge with some plants on it to the left. Jump for the ledge and grab on the whole way down. You don't want to land on the ledge you want to grab the ledge because there is a sniper in the area. If you do it right the sniper wont know you're there and you wont be dead. From here get behind a tree and then pull yourself up. Quickly zoom in with the sniper rifle and take him out. Fan Collection - Important Note If you plan on collecting the third fan in this area you must keep the sniper rifle with a few shots until the end of the level so if you plan on collecting all the fans don't use this gun after this point or throw it away. From here there are only three guards to take out in this area. Grab the stealth camouflage and run over to the remaining three guards in the other section and you are ready to continue. Now head into the little alcove in the building and activate the panel. From here go to the gray dot and activate that panel and walk inside the elevator. Head down the stairs to the left and then continue up the following flight of stairs. Then take a left at the top and take out the nine human guards and the two robot turrets on the two levels and then grab the HUD update. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM6F2 Go up to the second floor and take out any guards still alive. Now move to the side farthest from the laptop and in the middle between the two stairs. At this point the platform should bulge out a bit. Move back towards the wall (away from the fence) and look up towards the ceiling. Straight ahead and on a ledge is the second fan. Then use the laptop on the beams indicated by the gray dot. Then use the elevator. Head forward and take a left (following the curve) and jump up to the next level after running over the fallen floor. Take out the six guards in the next room on multiple levels. Continue around the circle until you cannot go any farther and then jump up to the next level. From here continue about 1/4 of the way around the building and jump up to the next level. Take out the two guards here and grab the HUD update. There is 10 guage ammo if you jump down the hole otherwise head to where you can see another section of the floor (not connected to it) on the right side of the hole. Look up and you should see a beam. Jump and grab on to the beam and pull yourself up. Run across and jump down to the ledge on the other side. Next jump up to the ledge with a door frame in it. Head through the hallway and five guards here. Next head to the area where there is no ceiling (not the corner the side area) and then jump off the solid wall to your left and bounce off the glass wall to your right. If you are close enough you can either land or grab on to the ledge above. From here enter the elevator to continue. If you can't get to the ledge make sure you are on the elevator side of the pile of rubble. Head down the stairs and over the gap of missing stairs until you cannot go any farther. Then jump to the machine hanging off the side of the building. Drop off the side and take out the guard in the alleyway closest to you. From here another few guards will come to check it out. Take out the first three and any helicopter robot guards that appear. Make your way to the end of the alleyway (without turning left at a split) and then go left and at the first split go right. Walk to the end of this section and look to your left. You should see a group of four guards in the next area. After taking these out and grabbing the HUD update you may attract the attention of a nearby group of three guards. If you do or not take them out and grab the HUD update. Next head past the "Do not enter" sign and the phone and go right around the next pathway split and take out the group of three human and two helicopter robot guards. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM6F3 The third fan is tricky to get to. First head right from the computer terminal and look for a glass tube. From here go right and you should see a blueish building to your right. Jump off this building and onto the glass tube. Walk as far away from the computer and mission objective while staying on the glass. Once you are at the far wall walk as close to the edge as you can and turn around. From here pull out the sniper rifle, zoom in, and aim for the section of the glass tube that meets the building. Now move the scope right and a little down and you should see the fan spinning on a ledge. After this use the computer and the mission is over. Mission 7 - #WAM7U Head forward and around the path and barbed wire. Take out the first seven guards in this area and grab the HUD update. The next area has a whole lot of enemy guards and a tank so grab the rocket launcher from one of the first guards and then blow up the tank right away. From here it is just a process of taking them out one by one. I suggest staying back by the door to take out the first few and then moving in to take out the rest. After taking out the guards head over to the small metal shack indicated by the gray dot. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM7F1 Move right up to the metal shack and then look to the right and in the trees is the fan. Activate the panel and the inner button to continue. Head out and to the left following the path around for a while until you find two guards. Take them out and continue until you come to a large sign. You can use this as a shield while taking out the four guards here. Continue through the hall and go left at the first split. Stand behind the containers on the right and take out the two turrets. Grab the armor and then head back to the split and again take the left path. Go to the door and activate the console to continue. Continue past the barricades and take out the three guards here. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM7F2 Face the control panel and then move clockwise around the tower. Now back up a little and look straight up at the top of the tower. At the top is the fan spinning around. Then continue on to the skinny section between the two fences but pass the hole in the fence and continue into the next section. In here take out the three guards and grab the HUD update. Continue on into the next section taking a right at the first split. Take out the two guards and grab the HUD update. Activate the computer and then head back to the split and take the right path that curves back towards the computer. On your way you may see a hackable target. Hack the mech and try to take out the turrets. If you die thats alright just do as much damage as you can first. After that head through to the section with the turrets and guards. If you did enough damage you should be fine otherwise you will probably die very fast. When you've taken out any remaining enemies activate the control panel indicated by the gray dot. Head right and at the first split go right again. At the end of this hallway take out the two guards and grab the HUD update. Now head back to the split and go right again. After a little walking you will meet three guards. Take them out and grab the HUD update and then continue on. You can hack one of the guards that is some distance away to take out some enemies for later if you want. The enemy you hack is actually a turret and there is another turret right next to you. I suggest taking that out first and then going after the guards. A little ways down the hall is a camouflage pick-up. Grab that and continue on. Take out the guards that are left and then activate the switch and the elevator switch inside. This next area has a tank and three human guards. Take them all out (starting with the tank) and then continue on. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM7F3 Before continuing on jump onto the tank and look towards the outer fence (the one without any doors in it). Facing that direction look up and to the right a little and you should see the fan on an outer building walkway. If you are having trouble shooting it from the tank get closer. There is some ammo around the tank so grab that if you need it. Head into the tunnel and take out the first two guards. Take out the next three and activate the button. Mission 8 - #WAM8U Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM8F1 The easiest fan in the game is right in the middle of this area. The very center of the circle in the center of the room. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM8F2 Facing the opposite way of the elevator and the exit look up in the ceiling and it should be right to the left of the pillar and on a walkway very high up. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM8F3 For the last fan head to the exit and turn around. Look up towards the ceiling and you should see a tower in the middle of the platform above the room and a fan at its base. This section is entirely in a Tachikoma so enjoy it while it lasts. There isn't a whole lot I can explain for a strategy so just take them all out. The other tanks require two rocket blasts (L2), but otherwise the rest can be taken out with machine guns or one rocket. Head over to the elevator to continue. Mission 9 - #WAM9U Run for the far left door and go down the stairs. Take out the two guards at the bottom and exit through the door and make a dash for the other door. From here take out the two guards and go down the stairs to the bottom. The next section you need to run out and jump down the pit. As quickly as you can start running back the way you came and go through the door again. Take out the two guards here and then out the door at the bottom again. This time the path is clear and you can run straight for the next door. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM9F1 Right before you go in the door back up a bit and walk to your right as far as you can. You should see a fan on the ledge below. Run down the stairs and back out again. This time you must activate the door. Once inside head down the stairs and then go on the path to the right. Side Area If you are having trouble taking out the boss at the end of the level (or you want to make it easier) head to the left instead of the right. This will take you out in the open and you need to make for the door on the other end. From here head down the stairs and out the door at the bottom. Now head across the next open section to the door at the other side. From here head right at the first split and in the door at the end of the hallway. Now you can use the computer in here (facing the window it's about 1:00) to hack a rocket turret on the ground. You can do some damage but the helicopter eventually (or quickly depending on the difficulty setting) gets smart and shoots rockets at you. Hopefully this will damage him enough for the higher difficulties. From here make a right at the first split and up the stairs and ladder. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM9F2 For this fan you need to jump onto the part of the pillar sticking out of the ground. There is a light in the middle of the pillar so stay on the side farthest from the edge. You need to be careful as the helicopter is shooting at you the whole time so pick a good point when he is using machine guns more than rockets. Now look back towards the door you came out of and there should be a connecting bridge down and to the right. The second fan is on top of this bridge. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM9F3 To get the final fan of this level you need to head over to where you got the grenade launcher. From here face towards the small building with the door in it and jump off the left side (the fence) and onto the building ledge. From here pull yourself up and shoot the fan. Go through the door and turn the corner to find a sleeping guard. Take him out and steal his grenade launcher. Grab some ammo and a restoration pack and then start killing the helicopter. When it is really flaming and flies close to the platform you need to jump in. Mission 10 - #WAM10U Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM10F1 From the starting point look to the right until you see a column with caution designs painted on it. Look straight up and at the top of this column is the first fan. From here activate the panel to the left and ride the elevator down. At the bottom of the hole take out the robot guards and then shoot the tanks next to them. On the far right side of the room there is a station with an armor pick-up and a computer grab the armor and activate the computer to open the door. Now head through the door and activate the elevator. Ride it down until it stops and then use the door that is visible. Go down the stairs until you get to the very bottom. Grab the AR27 if you want it and then head up two floors. Go through the green door to continue. Head right and take a left at the first split. From here go right and jump down to the next platform. Continue down the next two platforms taking out the two guards at the top and bottom levels. Then jump down to the ground floor and take out the three guards there. Next jump up to the yellow platform and activate the switch. Continue down to the next platform and take out the three guards there. Take out the two guards on the next platform and continue down to the ground floor. Take out the guard down there and activate the switch on the yellow platform with a gate on it. Jump up and bounce off the right side and grab the ledge. Continue to the edge of the path and then jump (single not bounce) to the next platform and do the same for the next. At the top run to the end of the tunnel and jump/bounce up this one as well. You need to triple jump to get to the ledge. You will most likely be on the wrong side but slide around to the thick ledge and pull yourself up. From here jump up to the top by bouncing once off the right side. At the top bring out your gun as there is a sniper ahead. Crouch and slide forward to see where he is and then target him. He is usually right next to the door almost in the center of the screen. Take him out quickly or find where he is and back off before taking him out. Look down at the ledge on your right and take out the three guards there. Walk to the edge of the ledge with (R1) held down. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM10F2 From here fall down and quickly grip the ledge right below. Now head to your right to get to a platform with armor or to your left to get to a platform with the second fan. Once on the platform the fan and armor are both inside the alcoves. After gripping the ledge fall straight down and then jump down to the ledge with the three guards. Take any out you missed and grab the HUD update. Turn around and go back the way you came, but jump down to the lower level and the one below that. Here flip the switch and look across to the other side of the hole. Take out the guard there and then jump down to the next platform on your left. Take out the two guards here and then if you have a grenade throw it into the middle of the room. Grab the HUD update and then jump down to the next platform. Work your way around taking out any enemies you missed. When you get to the objective activate it to continue. Take out the first guard here to get an HUD update and then activate the lift. At the bottom take out the three robot guards and then get on the next lift. If you need health grab the restoration kit and the ammo on the ledge in front of the lift and then proceed down the lift. At the bottom of this lift is a mech and two human guards. Take out the mech first, but the human with a grenade launcher is about as damaging. Next jump down and activate the door to continue. In here take out the two helicopter robot guards that come out right away and then jump down to the next platform. Take out as many guards as you can before you get to their level and then jump down. Proceed down each level grabbing a HUD update at the second and another HUD update at the fourth. When you get to the level with six guards on it take them all out and jump down to the metal beam. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM10F3 Don't jump down if you want to get the third fan. You need to be on the walk one level up from the last guarded level. On this level there is only one walk across the middle and it leads to two empty alcoves on either end. From here look off to the left of the catwalk (look at the end of the catwalk that is more to the right of the alcove than the center) and at a 90 degree angle is the last fan. The fan is down three levels and is on a beam going at about a 45 to the catwalk you are on. If you cannot shoot it from the beam you are on you can try jumping down. I accidentally committed suicide to get this fan. From here you need to jump down from beam to beam to get to the ground floor. All of these jumps can be made without grabbing on to a ledge so they are not that difficult. At the bottom go through the opening to finish the mission. Mission 11 - #WAM11U In here run through the lasers and punch out the robot guards. Grab the gun if you want it and then continue through the door. Run through the lasers here, but note that these robots fight back so take them out with a gun. Head to the left at the split and go through the door. Activate the robots and take them out. Continue through the door and shoot the turrets on the right path of the first split. Grab the ammo and then head down the left path. At the end jump down the hole and head through the tunnel. At the first split head right and jump down the hole. Continue through the hole and up the ladder. Continue straight and through the door grab the restoration kit on the right path of the first split and then continue down the left. Go through the next two doors and then at the first split take a right. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM11F1 To get this fan look beneath a pipe lying close to the ground on the left side of the right path. The pipe should curve down into the ground and underneath it is the fan. This pipe is close to the computer. Head forward and through the doors until you see the switch indicated by the gray dot. Activate it and then run through everything until you get back to a door with darkened lights. If you want to kill all the robots thats fine, but you may die a few times trying. Once you reach the door turn around and take the left path. Inside activate the lasers and kill all the robots picking up both codes. From here head back out to the darkened door and take the right path this time. Now you need to take out the robots in each section and gather the code they contain. I suggest crouching and creeping towards the door and look for a line on the ground. When you cross that line it will open the door and you can start shooting. If you start to lose health back up and the door will close. It works well, but whatever strategy you use you must defeat all the robots to get all the codes. Once you are done head back to the split with a lit middle control panel. Activate it and if you collected all the codes it will turn off the alarm. Now head on the right path and go through the doors to activate the switch that originally set off the alarm. At the bottom of the elevator head forward and down as far as you can go until you get to the first circular room. The doors in each of these rooms have two sizes. Head through the small door on the left side. Halfway down this hallway all the doors will open up and human guards will pop out. I suggest running past most of them and hiding on the other end of the hallway (around the corner from the door frame). Sneak out from the side and take out a few. I found it easier to stay in the door frame instead of constantly moving back and forth as it was easier to aim. Head back down the hallway to get the HUD update when all the guards are taken out. From here head to the circular room with the marking c05 on it. In this room again head to the small left door and go all the way down the stairs. The markings on this room should be c04 so once you are in the right room take out the two guards there. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM11F2 In here head to the 5:00 position on the center area. From here look under the grate at the floor below and you should see a fan there. Next head through the large door to your left and take out the guard there. From here head into the small left door and proceed down the hallway. The room ahead should say b04. Take out the three humans and one tank in this area and grab the HUD update. Now head for the small door leading to a stair. Head all the way down the stairs and at the very bottom there are three guards that can all be hacked. Pick one before they see you (stay up one floor before you hack) and take the rest out. From here proceed down and through the indicated door to continue. Ignore the guards above and head through the second door on the right. Take out the five guards here and grab the HUD update. Activate the computer and climb the ladder. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM11F3 Climb the ladder to the right (facing the tank) and walk backwards (away from the tank) a little. Now look back at the tank and go directly up towards the ceiling. The third fan should be there on top of some equipment. Follow the path around to the next room and take out the three guards here. Grab the HUD update and head into the next room. Take out the seven guards here on the two levels and grab the rocket launcher. Activate the computer by the large door to continue. Activate the elevator and ride it down until you get to the bottom. Go left and take out the two mech guards and then activate the switch at the split. Now head to the right path and go through the open door. At the next circular room (at the end of the tunnel) there are multiple tunnels branching off. Every other tunnel has a squad of robot guards. Take them out with something big like a grenade or rocket. After taking them all out head down the left-most open tunnel. At the end activate the elevator to finish the mission. Mission 12 - #WAM12U This level has three parts. First off they all are about the tank and the one driving so get used to shooting at the tank. The objective at the moment is to find laptops hidden in the field all around. Run around the outer limits of the fields to find most of these. Once you find one you can only activate it if it is lit. To get the laptops to activate you need to take out the human guards and grab the codes from the leader. Fan Collection - Fan 1 - #WAM12F1 The first fan is by the grave with a hat on top. Head right from the starting point and through the field and you should see a patch without anything in it. Look for this and a grave. Once you get all the laptops and in the correct order the hologram deactivates and you have to fight the tank. Fan Collection - Fan 2 - #WAM12F2 Look behind from where you start and you should see an alcove at the second level (look for gray bands and you will see what I mean by levels) off to the right just a little. Now turn to the left until you see another alcove at the same level. In this alcove at the top of what looks like a ladder is the second fan. Fan Collection - Fan 3 - #WAM12F3 Looking at the exact same place for fan two continue turning left at the same height and the second alcove has the final fan in the game. The strategy for this section is just to shoot an AR-27, grenade launcher, or anything of reasonable firepower at the tank. Once it is taken out jump on top of the tank and the ending plays. She is almost all cyborg and is an expert spy. Motoko works for Section 9, a secret government organization that works on particularly risky or politically sticky missions. She leads the field team and is also a skilled hacker. Batou The main male character in the game, series, and movie. Batou uses some older cyborg technology and is much more powerful but also less maneuverable. He can use larger guns than the fast Motoko however he cannot do tricky jumps. Batou is second in charge and sometimes takes over the research and surveillance operations. Tachikoma The Tachikomas are robots resembling spiders. They are fast and maneuverable as well as highly armed. In the series the Tachikomas are developing a personality and this comes out in the game. Daisuke Aramaki Aramaki is the leader of Section 9. He controls everything (or almost everything) that goes on in the group. The team is loyal to Aramaki and his orders are always followed. Aramaki does not do field work however he usually coordinates the surveillance and also does negotiations with political figures. Ishikawa Ishikawa is the main hacker of Section 9. He is always staying in the background but provides important support. If you need a security system hacked or a door opened Ishikawa can do it so he provides the most make-or-break solutions. Saito Saito is the sniper of Section 9. Saito is trained in many long-range weapons and can take out anything from a distance. Togusa Togusa is an ex-cop that is now working for Section 9. He provides backup for Batou and Motoko with his ancient (20th century) guns. Togusa is also very human as he has little cyborg implants. Boma Another research and hacking agent for Section 9. He is not as involved in the story as the other characters. Pick-Ups - #PU Machine guns: Seburd C26A - Original machine gun. Some power and good accuracy. SMG27 - A somewhat useful weapon with an average fire rate. AR-27 - Powerful fast fire rate machine gun. Rocket launchers: M23-GL - Regular grenade launcher. Good for taking out groups but not as powerful as others. RP18-AS - Regular rocket launcher. This weapon cannot lock on however it deals as good of a blast as the MMP-A2. MMP-A2 - This is an ultimate weapon. It is able to lock on to 4 targets and launch missiles at almost the same time. M17-Napalm - Special napalm launcher for Motoko only. This weapon is earned by collecting all the fans. Other: AS17 - A shotgun with average range and large dispersement of shrapnel. EN-PTLG30 - Laser gun for Batou only. This weapon is earned by collecting all the fans. Seburd CSR29 - Sniper rifle. Extra long range weapon with slow reload rate, however on easy and normal most targets can be taken out with just one shot. M688 - Grenade. The average grenade with a good effective range. EM402 - Electro-magnetic grenade. Sends out large bursts of lightning and takes out a larger range. Throwing Knives - Highly deadly although most targets are too fast to be hit by the knives. T-0 Camouflage - Camouflage. This causes any character to become invisible for some time. IIIA Body Armor - Armor. Highly protective against bullets and shells however any fire damage bypasses armor and affects health directly. Restoration Kit - This acts as a health pack and will heal you different amounts depending on the difficulty setting. Slow Motion - This is more of a power up you earn when you get shot. When your health is in red on easy, normal, or hard. At this point it appears in your secondary weapon slot as the last item. If you do not activate it before you regain health you will lose it. This powerup lasts for 6 seconds and works with both Motoko and Batau. Credit for this goes to dougisonline for pointing it out on the boards. Story - #ST FAQ - #FAQ What's this game about? This game follows the story of the Ghost in the Shell movie and the Stand Alone Complex series. Because of the Tachikoma's presence I would say that this takes place somewhere after the end of the first series. What language is the game in? The game is in Japanese with the exception of most of the menus. If you do not read in Japanese (like me) you will not get the story, however the game is still playable without much trouble. What type of game is it? The game is a third person shooter. Is there multiplayer? The game includes a Death Match style multiplayer and it works with 2-4 players (3-4 need multitap). The multiplayer levels are somewhat small, but there are a bunch of them. Is it a hard game? The game has three difficulty settings, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Playing through on easy is no problem at all. When you get to hard some levels are very long and require tricky jumps so they may take a while, however there is a nice continue system set up so you usually don't have to start the whole mission over again. Where are the fans I can't see any of them? You must first beat the game once and then the fans will appear in the locations specified in the guide. What do the fans look like? A picture of the fans can be found on the memory card you save to. The save file has a picture of the first mission objective and the robot is holding a fan. Is there another place for the fan list yours doesn't make sense. AKD found a site with a complete list and pictures so if my definitions don't make sense you can use these. Be warned though the page is in Japanese so you most likely wont be able to read the locations however the pictures help. The site is http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~horihori/ps2ksac.htm How do I save my game? The game automatically saves your progress when you complete a mission. After doing a few playable levels the game will play a nice cinematic scene and then it should say saving. The checkpoints are the only way that you can "save" while playing through a mission. What are the save options for in the options menu? That option is to save your preferences not the game. You didn't answer my question!
