The amount of health you lose depends on the severity of the hit. You can restore your health by breaking the clear boxes with blue orbs in them. As you defeat enemies, you will gain experience. When you gain enough experience, your health will level up and give you an extra hit point. The maximum amount of hit points you can get is 50 in normal mode, and 75 in challenge mode. ----------- Weapons ----------- You can purchase weapons from the various "Gadgetron" vendors in the game. As you use weapons, their ammo will run down. When your ammo for that weapon gets to zero, you can't use that weapon until you find or buy more ammo from "Gadgetron" vendors. When you kill an enemy with a weapon, that weapon will gain experience. When you gain enough experience, your weapon's level will increase. Higher levels generally mean more ammo, more power, and added effects. After you get your weapon to the fourth level, it will be renamed and will receive a new feature. In "Challenge Mode", you can purchase special versions of each weapon, called "Titan" weapons. These weapons further increase the power of each weapon, but cost much more than normal weapons. ----------- Gadgets ----------- Gadgets are tools that help you through certain parts of the game. Each gadget has a different ability and can only be used in certain situations. Gadgets don't to any damage to enemies and can't level up. ---------------- Quick Select ---------------- The quick select menu is brought up when you press the "Triangle" button. It is a wheel that you can place weapons and gadgets on for quick access during battle. You can change what weapons and gadgets are on the quick select wheel at any time by going to the pause menu, then pressing "Quick Select". Weapons that are not on the quick select wheel are accessable by going to the pause menu and pressing "Weapons". --------------- Grind Locks --------------- After you acquire the Shrink Ray on Kalidon, you will find these puzzles. Ratchet will shrink down and use his grind boots to grind on rails inside of the locks. You can jump from rail to rail, as well as over obstacles. The main goal of these is to use your wrench to hit the switches (they look like red, glowing triangles) to lower the forcefields and make it into the locks. These are all pretty simple. ================== Weapons (WAOS) ================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lacerator - First Purchase: In inventory at beginning of the game - Price: Free - Upgrade Name: Dual Lacerators - Ammo: -Level 1: 60 -Level 2: 70 -Level 3: 80 -Level 4: 120 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast This will probably be the first weapon you level up to level 4. - Other Comments: My personal favorite gun. You will probably use this quite a lot for general use. Not very effective in boss situations, however. Titan Dual Lacerators - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Dual Lacerators - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 120 -Level 2: 120 -Level 3: 120 -Level 4: 120 Upgrades: - Double Barrel Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 30,000 Bolts Adds another barrel to your Lacerator (Or one to each Dual Lacerator), thus making it twice as powerful. One of the best upgrades in the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acid Bomb Glove - First Purchase: In inventory at beginning of the game - Price: Free - Upgrade Name: Acid Detonator - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 7 -Level 3: 9 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast This weapon is very, very easy to level up especially when you use it around large groups of enemies. - Other Comments: I didn't use this weapon that much on my first playthrough, but it does become useful in challenge mode. Titan Acid Detonator - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Acid Detonator - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 Upgrades: - Acid Burn Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 30,000 Bolts Makes enemies that are in the acid that the acid bomb produces catch on fire. They continue to stay on fire even when outside of the acid. Works great in combonation with the Epoxy Mod. -Epoxy Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 50,000 Bolts When enemies walk through the acid made by the acid bomb, their speed is reduced to 50%. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concussion Gun - First Purchase: Pokitaru - Price: 10,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Concussion Cannon - Ammo: -Level 1: 25 -Level 2: 25 -Level 3: 30 -Level 4: 30 - Upgrade Speed: Medium It takes quite a while to level this one up because you have to very close to enemies to use it effectively, and getting in close to enemies is very risky. - Other Comments: I have never, ever leveled this weapon up past level one. This weapon is totally useless. You can save yourself the 10,000 bolts and purchase something useful. Titan Concussion Cannon - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Concussion Cannon - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 25 -Level 2: 25 -Level 3: 25 -Level 4: 25 Upgrades: - Wide Barrel Mod: - First Available: Kalidon - Cost: 15,000 Bolts Increases the width of the blast from the gun. It works fine, if you can find any use for the gun. - Lock On Mod - First Available: Kalidon - Cost: 5,000 Bolts Your gun will now lock onto enemies. It's pretty much useless though, as most of your gun's fire still won't hit the enemy. - Charge Up Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 50,000 Bolts Press and hold circle down to charge up the gun. Does much more damage than a single normal shot would do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agents of Doom - First Purchase: Ryllus - Price: 25,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Agents of Dread - Ammo: -Level 1: 6 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Fast If you use them a lot, they are pretty fast to level up, but their later levels can require a lot of use. - Other Comments: These guys are really useful near the end of the game, so leveling them up early is quite smart. These guys get special powers with each level up. Level 1: Run along the ground and attack enemies with their fists. Level 2: Run along the ground, but now have cannons that they can use for long distance combat. Level 3: Almost exactly the same as level 2, but they do slightly more damage. Level 4: Fly behind Ratchet and shoot enemies from afar. Titan Agents of Dread - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Agents of Dread - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 10 -Level 2: 10 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 Upgrades: - Launcher Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 20,000 Bolts Makes the Agents of Doom/Dread do more damage. Really useful for bosses and the final planet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scorcher - First Purchase: Kalidon - Price: 20,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Incinerator - Ammo: -Level 1: 60 -Level 2: 90 -Level 3: 90 -Level 4: 90 - Upgrade Speed: Fast You can level this up really quickly if you can find a large group of weak enemies, and since there are a lot of those, you will probably upgrade this one in a few planets. - Other Comments: This weapon is really powerful, but hard to use. If you really want to use it effectively, strafe around your enemies and keep firing. The ammo will run our quickly, however. Great for bosses, in my experience. Titan Incinerator - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Incinerator - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 90 -Level 2: 90 -Level 3: 90 -Level 4: 90 Upgrades: - Spitfire Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 15,000 Bolts Whenever the Scorcher/Incinerator stops firing, it releases a fireball. The size of the fireball depends on the length of time you were firing. The longer you were firing, the larger the fireball released is. - Sunflare Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 200,000 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suck Cannon - First Purchase: Ratchet's Dream - Price: 30,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Vortex Cannon - Ammo: Ammo for this gun is done a little differently, since you have to suck up enemies or crates to use them as ammo. Below are the number of items you can suck up at once at each level. -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 10 -Level 3: 12 -Level 4: 16 - Upgrade Speed: Fast You can suck up crates anywhere. - Other Comments: I haven't used this weapon that much except for Ratchet's Dream, so I don't know that much about it. It does fire out extremely powerful shots, however. Titan Vortex Cannon - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Vortex Cannon - Price: 300,000 Bolts - Ammo: Ammo for this gun is done a little differently, since you have to suck up enemies to use them as ammo. Below are the number of enemies you can up at once at each level. -Level 1: 10 -Level 2: 12 -Level 3: 14 -Level 4: 16 Upgrades: - Bounce Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 600,000 Bolts Makes the enemies you fire out of your Suck/Vortex Cannon bounce off of walls. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bee Mine Glove - First Purchase: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Killer Bee Mine Glove - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast If you can find an area where you can toss the mine down into a group of enemies, you can level this quite easily. Works well with the Agents of Doom/Dread. - Other Comments: I absolutely love this weapon. It is quite weak in its first two levels, but levels 3 and 4 are extremely strong. Titan Killer Bee Mine Glove - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Killer Bee Mine Glove - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 12 Upgrades: - Worker Mod: - First Available: Challax - Cost: 5,000 Bolts Makes the bees that come out of the hives collect bolts and health orbs for you. Also makes them stay outside of the hive a little bit longer before the hive disappears. - Hive Bomb Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 300,000 Bolts When all of the bees from a hive have been expended, the hive will explode, causing damage to nearby enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sniper Mine - First Purchase: Challax - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Deadeye Mine - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Medium This weapon will only level up quickly if you use it to snipe enemies from a distance. If you try and use it in close combat, you will find that it doesn't level up easily. - Other Comments: I see the use for this gun, sniping from long distances, but I can't find any practical applications for it in the game. There are almost situations where you would use this weapon. My advice is to skip this gun and use the 50,000 bolts for something a little more useful. Titan Deadeye Mine - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Deadeye Mine - Price: 250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 Upgrades: - Split Beam Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 25,000 Bolts When you fire the mine, the beam hurts enemies near your target. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shock Rocket - First Purchase: Dayni Moon - Price: 55,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Electro Rocket - Ammo: -Level 1: 20 -Level 2: 20 -Level 3: 22 -Level 4: 22 - Upgrade Speed: Slow In it's first two levels, you will find that it upgrades quite easily. From level 3 on, however, it takes an enormous amount of experience to level up. - Other Comments: I used this weapon quite a lot from when I got it. Very useful on bosses and large groups of foes, due to the electrical arcs that hurt nearby enemies when they are near the missile. Titan Electro Rocket - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Electro Rocket - Price: 1,250,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 18 -Level 2: 20 -Level 3: 22 -Level 4: 24 Upgrades: - After Shock Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 25,000 Bolts The missiles from the weapon will do more damage, as will the electricity that comes from the missile. - Lock On Mod: - First Available: Quadrona - Cost: 5,000 Bolts Lock on to enemies. Really useful, because enemies around that enemy will be hurt too. - Multi-Launcher Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 2,000,000 Bolts Fires more missiles, and thus does more damage. Worth the cost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mootator - First Purchase: Found on Dayni Moon - Price: No Price/Free - Obtained By: Beating all Dayni Moon Clank Challenges - Upgrade Name: Armoogeddon - Ammo: -Level 1: N/A -Level 2: N/A -Level 3: N/A -Level 4: N/A - Upgrade Speed: Slow Best use on small, weak enemies, and lots of them. - Other Comments: This weapon is pretty much useless. The only real reason to use it would be for the one skill point you need it for on Pokitaru. Titan Armoogeddon - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Armoogeddon - Price: 1,500,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: N/A -Level 2: N/A -Level 3: N/A -Level 4: N/A Upgrades: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Static Barrier - First Purchase: Inside Clank - Price: 65,000 - Upgrade Name: Repulser Field - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 5 -Level 3: 5 -Level 4: 5 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Fast If you purchase this one immediately, you will find that you will almost have it leveled up to it's max by the end of the game. - Other Comments: Purchase this one as soon as it becomes available. It is the most useful weapon in the game by far. The final boss is almost impossible without it. Titan Repulser Field - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Repulser Field - Price: 2,500,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 5 -Level 3: 5 -Level 4: 5 Upgrades: - Reflection Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 250,000 Bolts If an enemy fires a laser attack at you, it reflects back and hits them. - Mirage Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 1,250,000 Bolts When you have a shield over you, it leaves behind a Ratchet decoy that you enemies will fire on, instead of you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laser Tracer - First Purchase: Quadrona - Price: 85,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Optical Laser Array - Ammo: -Level 1: 200 -Level 2: 200 -Level 3: 300 -Level 4: 300 - Upgrade Speed: Very Slow Chances are you won't even level this one up once by the end of the game. - Other Comments: While this gun is very, very strong, it has a major problem. You have to stand still to use it. This is partially helped by the fact that there is a small shield on the front that protects you from enemy fire. Titan Optical Laser Array - First Purchase: Challenge Mode, Must Have Level 4 Optical Laser Array - Price: 3,000,000 Bolts - Ammo: -Level 1: 300 -Level 2: 300 -Level 3: 300 -Level 4: 300 Upgrades: - Pierce Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 1,250,000 Bolts When you fire the weapon, it will go through enemies and hit an enemy behind them. - Ricochet Mod: - First Available: Challenge Mode - Cost: 500,000 Bolts The Laser Tracer beam will bounce off of walls. For best effect, use in small rooms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RYNO (Rip You a New One) - First Purchase: Pokitaru, Challenge Mode Only - Price: 9,999,000 - Upgrade Name: Rynocerator - Ammo: -Level 1: 30 -Level 2: 30 -Level 3: 40 -Level 4: 50 - Upgrade Speed: Very Slow It will probably take you a couple of challenge mode run throughs to level this one up. - Other Comments: Without a doubt, this is the strongest weapon in the game. If you have it, there's no reason to ever use any other weapon. Can make mincemeat of the final boss. Upgrades: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================== Gadgets (GDES) ================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hypershot - First Obtained: In inventory at beginning of game - Price: Free - Obtained By: In inventory at beginning of game - Other Comments: This is probably the gadget you will use most often. You don't need to have it in your quick select, however. Just jump towards the floating nodes and press circle to automatically activate it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sprout-O-Matic - First Obtained: Ryllus - Price: Free - Obtained By: Given to you in an unskippable cutscene - Other Comments: You might want to keep this one on your quick select, as you will use it fairly often. To use, just spray a little water on a plant, then lead it over to a patch of dirt. Spray a little into the dirt and it will grow. It should be noted that on Dayni Moon, plants will not grow at night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Polarizer - First Obtained: On Medical Outpost Omega, after it gets blown up - Price: Free - Obtained By: Win skyboard race - Other Comments: You will only use this a few times, so it doesn't really warrant a place on your quick select menu. To use, just point it at an applicable object and press and hold fire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PDA - First Obtained: Challax - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchasing from a Gadgetron vendor. - Other Comments: This gadget is really only useful during the long boss fights. The main problem with this is that you can only buy ammo, and the ammo that you buy is five times it's regular price. You may want it on your quick select, you may not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shrink Ray - First Obtained: Kalidon - Price: Free - Obtained By: Win the "Learner's Permit" skyboard race - Other Comments: You don't have to equip this one, it is automatically used in grind lock puzzles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bolt Grabber - First Obtained: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 5,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchase from a Gadgetron vendor - Other Comments: Automatically used. Doubles the distance in which Ratchet attracts bolts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Box Breaker - First Obtained: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 20,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchase from a Gadgetron vendor - Other Comments: Automatically used. When you do an overhead smash (Jump + Swing Wrench), it increases the area in which boxes are broken from the impact. Does not increase the distance in which you do damage to enemies, however. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Map-O-Matic - First Obtained: Dayni Moon - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Obtained By: Purchase from a Gadgetron vendor - Other Comments: Shows all areas of a map, including secret ones. Its pretty useless if you follow this guide, but if you want to explore on your own, go ahead and buy it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================== Armour Pieces (AMPE) ======================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wildfire - Wildfire Helmet: - Ryllus This will be floating in front of the temple (where Clank enters the hole in the wall). - Wildfire Body Armour: - Pokitaru At the end of the training session with Luna, it will come up on the bridge that you are forced to raise. - Wildfire Gloves: - Pokitaru Near the Gadgetron vendor before the boat portion of the level. - Wildfire Boots: - Kalidon After you finish the section where the elevator goes down and enemies come out of doors on the side, it will be right in front of you when you come up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sludge Mk. 9 - Sludge Mk. 9 Helmet: - Metalis Beat the Clank Challenge "Nigh Impossible." - Sludge Mk. 9 Body Armour: - Kalidon It will be on the bridge after you defeat Mungo. - Sludge Mk. 9 Gloves: - Kalidon Complete the "Master Challenge" Skyboard race. - Sludge Mk. 9 Boots: - Ryllus When you first get the Sprout-O-Matic, you plant a bomb plant. These are called "Gadgetron Vendors" and they are where you will purchase weapons, ammo, and some gadgets. Press triangle to interact with it. So far the only thing you'll see is the "Concussion Gun." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concussion Gun - First Purchase: Pokitaru - Price: 10,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Concussion Cannon - Ammo: -Level 1: 25 -Level 2: 25 -Level 3: 30 -Level 4: 30 - Upgrade Speed: Medium It takes quite a while to level this one up because you have to very close to enemies to use it effectively, and getting in close to enemies is very risky. - Other Comments: I have never, ever leveled this weapon up past level one. This weapon is totally useless. You can save yourself the 10,000 bolts and purchase something useful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Press triangle again to exit the vendor, since you don't have enough money to buy that gun right now. Follow the girl up the path near the vendor. Two crabs will come and attack you. Press square near them to use your wrench and kill them. Do you see those golden objects that just came towards you? Those are called "bolts" and they are the currency of the game. Now press and hold triangle. That circle that comes up is called your "quick select" menu. You can put weapons and gadgets on it for quick access in battle. For now, move your analog stick/nub to the right and equip the "Lacerator." Press "X" to jump over the log. On the other side, either use your wrench to attack the crabs or use your "Lacerator." To use your gun, press circle for a single shot, or press and hold for the gun to continue firing. To best use guns, press and hold L2 in the PS2 version, or use the D-Pad on the PSP version to strafe. This will keep your gun towrads the enemies and make hitting them much easier. When you're done with the enemies, approach the crates to either side. Use your wrench to break these, yielding bolts. Do the same for the set on the other side. Approach the large earthen stairs and press "X" to jump up them. When you approach the wall, the girl will tell you what to do. High jump over the wall. On the other side, use either your wrench or the Lacerator to defeat the enemies that approach you. When you have defeated all of them, run up to the bolt in the middle. Press "square" and rotate the analog stick/nub slowly and Ratchet will open the door ahead. Enter through, and long jump over the crevice. Break the boxes and approach the large door. Enter first person mode as instructed and use your Lacerator to shoot at the target on the door. Enter through the door and be careful, as several crabs will apprear from behind the waterfall at your right. Take them out and head behind the waterfall where they appeared for some more crates. Break them and head back out. Approach the large land mass and either high jump or double jump onto it. Break the boxes, but don't jump to the other side just yet. Instead, pull out your Lacerator and attack the enemies from here to ensure you don't get hit. When they're done for, jump over and slide down the dirt ramp. On the bottom, take out all of the enemies, and the gate ahead will open, yielding a few more baddies. If you run out of ammunition, press and hold triangle to open the quick select and rotate the analog stick/nub to equip the "Acid Bomb Glove." Head through the newly opened door and deal with the crabs any way you know how. Continue around the corner for two Gadgetron boxes (which hold ammo instead of bolts) and some more enemies. Take them out. When you're done with them, break the chairs for a few extra bolts and long jump over to the island. Break the crates. Here you will find a clear crate with a blue sphere inside. These will heal part of your wounds if you are damaged. Rotate the bolt to raise the bridge. Head across and grab your first piece of armour. [WILDFIRE BODY ARMOUR OBTAINED] Head all the way across the bridge to finish this objective. ----------------------------------------- Objective Complete: Complete Training ----------------------------------------- [Cutscene] -------------------------------- New Objective: Find The Girl -------------------------------- To get a skill point, quickly retrace your steps around the training course. If you did it quick enough, you'll end up with a fancy new skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (1/25)] Head to the Gadgetron vendor to buy some ammo. Break the boxes near you and kill the bot hovering near the house remnants. Be careful, when the bot blows up, a spider bot will come out of it's remains and attack you. Continue past the broken house. [Continue Point] On the wooden platform, some crabs will attack you, so take them out and continue along. Take out the spider bots, then head up the path and take out the hover bots. Be careful of the spiders that come out of them. Break the boxes to your left and approach the metal wall. Walk up the wall as instructed and take out the bots on top. Approach the zip-line, but don't use it yet. Instead, turn to face the giant rock to the left of the zip-line. If you look to the right of it you can see a platform. Long jump to it to find your first Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (1/20)] Long jump back. Approach the zip-line and use it by standing under it and jumping. Break the boxes quickly, as spider bots will begin emerging from the houses on either side. Continue along the path to the right of the right house to enter a cave. Take out all of the enemies and head to the other side of the cave to find some gloves. [WILDFIRE GLOVES OBTAINED] Break the boxes to the left of the Gadgetron vendor, then watch out. Some crabs will come up the beach behind you. Take them out then buy your ammo at the vendor. When ready, hop onto the yellow boat. In order to gain a skill point, be sure not to be hit at all from now until you dock. To do this easily, just keep double jumping on the front of your boat to avoid enemy fire. The boat will auto-drive itself, so all you need to focus on are the enemies that will attack you. Start out using your Lacerator to take out the enemies that are dropped from the ship. When your boat reaches the island, take out your Acid Bomb Glove to quickly destroy the crabs. If you don't care about experience, just run over to the other side of the island and hop on the other boat. As your boat approaches the next island, try and snipe the enemies from afar using the Lacerator. When you take them all out, hop onto the island to reap your bolts, along with a couple of Gadgetron boxes. Hop back on your boat. As you are approaching the next island, snipe your enemies using the Lacerator, but be sure to get off on that island. Break all of the boxes, but don't quite hop back on your boat yet. Instead, walk along the beach to the left of the left house to find yet another Titanium bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (2/20)] Hop back on your boat and let it take you to a dock. Hop up the dock and take out the crabs along the way. If you didn't get hit, you'll get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (2/25)] Head along the dock to have more bots attack you. Head along to where they came from and hop onto the elevator. [Cutscene] ------------------------------------- Objective Complete: Find The Girl ------------------------------------- You will automatically ride your ship to Ryllus. ----------------- Ryllus (WLRL) ----------------- ------------------------------------------- New Objective: Investigate The Artifact ------------------------------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Acid Bomb Glove - Lacerator [Cutscene] If both of your weapons haven't leveled up yet, I would recommend going back to Pokitaru and leveling them up. Break all of the boxes here, then head to the Gadgetron vendor to refill your ammo and find a new weapon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agents of Doom - First Purchase: Ryllus - Price: 25,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Agents of Dread - Ammo: -Level 1: 6 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Fast If you use them a lot, they are pretty fast to level up, but their later levels can require a lot of use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have enough money to buy it, go ahead. But I would recommend not buying the concussion gun, since it's pretty much useless. Either way, walk away from the Gadgetron vendor along the tree to the left and fall off of the ledge. You will find a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (3/20)] Head down the stairs near you and you will encounter some enemies. These are called Pymgy Tribesmen. Take them all out. Be sure to break all of the boxes as you go along, since doing so will net you a skill point. Instead of going through the large door near you, camp out a while and destroy some cameras. If you can't find any, wait a while, they respawn. Once you destroy 10, you'll get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (3/25)] Head through the large door and around the corner to encounter a new enemy. Take him out and then smash the crates. Continue for a cutscene. [Cutscene] Head along to encounter a new plant enemy. Take it out, then take out the enemies around the screw. Open the door using the screw and take out the enemies that emerge. Destroy the boxes on either side of the door and approach the man. [SPROUT-O-MATIC OBTAINED] [Continue Point] Destroy the two Gadgetron boxes and then approach the plant in the ground. Use the Sprout-O-Matic on it and it will pop up from the ground and follow you. Take it over the patch of dirt and quickly use the Sprout-O-Matic. (Don't use it too much or the plant will die and you'll have to start all over.) Instead of hitting the plant straight on, go around the other other side (to where you are facing where you got the plant) and hit the bomb over to the crack in the wall to find some armour there. Grab it. [SLUDGE MK. 9 BOOTS OBTAINED] Now hit the plant's bomb over to the ivy covered wall to continue. It will break a hole in the wall. Head over to the hole, but don't jump through yet. Inside, you'll see two plant enemies. These can be quite deadly, so just jump up and shoot them through the hole. Their projectiles wont hit you if you remain on the other side. When they're both done for, jump through the hole. Be sure to get the boxes along the wall you just jumped through, or you won't get the skill point at the end of the planet. Enter the small room to the left and grab the plant from within. Take it back and plant it in the soil, then climb up it. Head through the door and jump down. Don't bother with the plant yet, as some enemies will attack you from your left. After you're done with them, return and uproot the plant. Bring it over to the soil next to where the plant enemy was and plant it. Being sure not to miss the boxes to your left and the Gadgetron box behind you, hit the plant with your wrench to have it send you flying. [Continue Point] Grab whatever from the Gadgetron vendor, then approach the ledge with the Hypershot node. The game says you must equip the Hypershot, but that isn't true. Just jump off of the ledge and press "circle". The game will automatically equip and use it. Land on the other side. Instead of attacking the enemies, dodge the plant's projectiles and wait for some pygmies to come out. When there are at least four out, jump back and grapple the Hypershot node. Wait on the node for a while, holding "circle" and the pygmies will eventually make their way over to the plants... And get eaten. When four pygmies have been eaten by the plants, you'll get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (4/25)] Now jump back over and defeat any enemies left. Destroy the boxes on either side of the plants. When ready, head to the right side of the platform (the one that is near the Gadgetron vendor). Some enemies will pop out. Take them out, then head over to the other side. Take out all of the plants here too. Take their bolts and smash the crates. Take the plant here and plant it in the soil in between both platforms. Use it's bomb to break a hole in the large wall in front of you. Spray some more water on it to destroy it, then grab the other plant from the opposite platform and plant it too. Hit it with your wrench to have it send you through the barrier. Instead of approaching the armour, turn around and run to the barrier you just came from. There will be a Titanium Bolt floating near the wall. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (4/20)] Head up the ramp and grab the armour. [WILDFIRE HELMET OBTAINED] If you want to, use the teleporter to head back to your ship. When ready, approach the door. [Cutscene] [Continue Point] As Clank, approach the button in the middle and stand on it. On the top, go over and attack the stone enemy by pressing "square," it only takes one hit to destroy him. Run over to the glass cases and free your Gadgebots by punching them free. Return to the elevator, and head right. Be sure to break the box here, then position it so that one of your Gadgebots are standing on the button. Press and hold "triangle," then issue the "wait" command. Head through the door, break the boxes, and then stand on the button. Tell your bots to follow you by pressing and holding "Triangle," followed by up. Be sure you are standing on the button, or they won't be able to get through. Head around the corner and up the ramp. Instead of fighting the pygmies by yourself, use the command "attack" and your bots will do it for you. Head in and collect the bolts. If any of your bots died during the attack, just wait. They'll come running around the corner behind you in a few seconds. Press on up the ramp to find more enemies. Make your bots attack again. Follow the path to the right to find an apparatus for Clank. Press "triangle" to enter. In the "Bot Flinger," aim at your Gadgebots and press "Circle" to grab them. Turn around and make sure your cursor is on top of the raised portion, then press "circle" again to throw. Do that with all three, then jump up and issue the "follow" command. Head up the path and around the curved corridor (being sure to break the boxes) to arrive at yet another Bot Flinger. This time instead of just throwing your bots across, toss two of them at the two buttons on either side of the far door. You don't even need to toss the third one. Just issue the "follow" command and walk across the bridge. Head into the hallway. Now some blow darts are hitting the wall near you, so we need to avoid those. Right after the nearest one hits, run. You should be able to make it to the last one before you need to stop again and wait. Head up the ramp. Tell your bots to attack the enemy, then hop into the Bot Flinger. Do you see the round, raised platform at the other end of the room? You need to throw all three bots on it to open the door to your right. When the door is opened, issue the "follow" command (the door will stay open) and head through the door. [Continue Point] Break the boxes to your left. If you have broken all of the boxes thus far you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (5/25)] Break open all of the glass cages and walk up to the ramp with the boulders running down it. When a boulder appears, run after it. At the bottom of the first ramp, enter the small room to the right to save yourself and your bots. Repeat this on the next one. On the third one, just exit to the right to find a Bot Flinger. Even if some of your bots got destroyed on the way down, toss what bots you have into their houses. If some of your bots were destroyed by the boulders on the way down, head up the elevator to grab them. Then, head all the way back down and use the Bot Flinger to toss them into their houses. When they are all in, a door will open. Head through the door, down the ramp, and through the small hole in the wall. Stand on the button near the far door for a cutscene. [Cutscene] ------------------------------------------------ Objective Complete: Investigate The Artifact ------------------------------------------------ Use the teleporter to return to your ship, then enter your ship and head to Kalidon. ------------------- Kalidon (WLKL) ------------------- ---------------------------------- New Objective: Rescue The Girl ---------------------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Sprout-O-Matic - Agents of Doom Head to the Gadgetron vender to restock on ammo and find a new weapon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scorcher - First Purchase: Kalidon - Price: 20,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Incinerator - Ammo: -Level 1: 60 -Level 2: 90 -Level 3: 90 -Level 4: 90 - Upgrade Speed: Fast You can level this up really quickly if you can find a large group of weak enemies, and since there are a lot of those, you will probably upgrade this one in a few planets. - Other Comments: This weapon is really powerful, but hard to use. If you really want to use it effectively, strafe around your enemies and keep firing. The ammo will run our quickly, however. Great for bosses, in my experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you haven't already, purchase the Agents of Doom. Now head diagonal from the Gadgetron vendor and fall off of the ledge. In a small crater you will find a Titanium Bolt. [TITNAIUM BOLT OBTAINED (5/20)] Head around to the right to find an area where you can jump back up. Head down the path and approach the cylindrical object. These are weapon modification vendors. Here, you can upgrade your weapons with more power, new features, and other stuff. I would recommend purchasing the Lock On Mod for the Lacerator. After you're done, head to the right of the vendor to find a purple haired man. [Continue Point] [Cutscene] You will now be able to do skyboard races. +---------------+ | Both Versions | +---------------+----+-------------------+ | Analog Stick/Nub | Move Ratchet | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "X" Button | Jump | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Square" Button | Boost | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Circle" Button | Boost | +--------------------+-------------------+ Here are some general tips: - The red portions of floor are boost pads, they make you go faster. Try and drive over as many of these as possible, but not if you have to go too far out of your way to do it. - The blue floors are pads that slow you down. Press "X" to jump over them. If you don't think you will clear it, tap "circle" to get a small boost and clear the pad. - Pressing "square" when on the ground will give you a slight boost. If you have fuel left at the end of the race, use it all on a boost towards the finish line. If you want to really get a leg up on the competition, use "square" when going over red boost pads in order to go really fast. - You will see some red containers that look like missiles. These are actually fuel. When you press "square" or "circle", you will use up your fuel and go slightly faster. - Be sure to go in straight lines. If you are wobbly or are weaving too much, you will lose speed and fall behind the competition. A way to make going in straight lines easier is to tilt the left thumbstick forward, and then place your thumb behind the stick, not on top of it. The course here is a pretty generic circular path. Just be sure to use your boost over the red pads and avoid hitting walls and you will have these races in the bag. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learner's Permit Reward: Shrink Ray Gadget ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speeding Ticket Reward: 2,500 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tricky Air Reward: 3,500 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Master's Challenge Reward: Sludge Mk. 9 Gloves ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When ready, press "triangle" to start the race. You only have to do "Learner's permit, but I would recommend doing all of them. [SHRINK RAY GADGET OBTAINED] If you did all of them, you will get some armour. Also, if you do one without using boost, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (6/25)] [SLUDGE MK 9. GLOVES OBTAINED] [Continue Point] When done, head back and go the opposite way at the modification vendor. If you want a skill point, avoid being hit from how until you get a skill point notification message. Head around the corner and approach the Hypershot node. [Continue Point] Use the Hyper shot to jump the gap, then destroy the enemies on the other side. Head up the stairs, defeat the enemies, and break the boxes, but don't use the grind lock yet. Instead, face the door, and head left around the side of the building. Behind the tiny wall is a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (6/20)] Head back to the door and use the grind lock. After you are done with the grind lock, head through the door and break the glass cases and the boxes. Continue along the path, destroying the two sentry bots. In the next room, take out all of the bots and break the boxes. Head through the corridor, breaking boxes as you go. [Continue Point] This next part is very difficult, so be sure you have full ammo. When ready, throw two sets of Agents of Doom on the elevator in the middle of the room. Then hop on and press the button in the middle. The elevator will descend and enemies will come out from the walls. This is where I got a skill point for defeating 25 enemies without being hit. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (7/25)] Part of the way down, some targets will appear on the ground below you. When you see these, run. These are bombs that will badly damage you if you are there when they land. After a few more rounds of enemies and bombs, the floor will start smoking. This is your cue to jump off as quick as possible. After breaking the boxes, get your wits about you and press the button. Some green acid will begin rising, as will a platform. Jump on the platform and ride it until it stops. When it stops, quickly jump off and hop along the platforms to your left. Do this a few times until you are safely at the top. At the top, break the boxes and grab the armour piece. [WILDFIRE BOOTS OBTAINED] You now have the entire Wildfire armour set. Equip it from the pause menu. Now when you hit enemies with your wrench, they will catch on fire and take residual damage. Head up the steps and take out the sentry bots. From here, shoot the worker bot. Jump and use the Hypershot to be brought to the conveyour belt. Quickly jump over in the direction of the platform on the other side of the room and use your Hypershot. Land on the platform and break the boxes. Head around the corner and enter the room. In here you will be ambushed by hover bots, so be ready. When you are done with them and have broken the boxes, head onto the elevator. [Continue Point] At the bottom, break the boxes and then rotate the screw to raise some Hypershot nodes. Jump along them, but be careful. The platforms will break if you stand on them too long. Enter the cooridor, break the boxes and head into the next room. In here, you will be ambushed by several waves of enemies. Take them out and then smash the boxes and armour suits. Enter the grind lock and open the door. Head through the door and destroy the enemies here, along with the boxes. Approach the door to cause it to open. Before you enter the sphereical room with all of the magnetic paths, enter first person mode to look for the bolt. When you find it, walk up the right wall in the doorway you are in (the wall near the edge is magnetic) and walk up. When you are on the right wall, walk forward to find that there is a path there. Walk along it, turning right at the intersection, to find the bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (7/20)] Return to the entrence. Now walk along every path and destroy all of the bombs to get a skill point. If there are any you are missing, just enter first person mode and look around. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (8/25)] When you are done with that, return to the entrence. Head straight down, then left at the first intersection. At the next three intersections, turn right. At the final one, you can only go left, so head that way and enter the doorway. Hop onto the conveyor belt. At the end, jump on to the second conveyor belt and take out your Agents of Doom. Toss two sets of them and let them take care of the worker bots. At the end, be sure to jump off and into the doorway. You are approaching a boss, so be sure to stock up on ammo. I would also recommend purchasing the Scorcher. Head forward, over the bridge, to begin the boss battle. +--------------------+ | Boss Battle: Mungo | +-+--------------------+--------------------------------------------------+ | | | Mungo can be quite difficult if you don't know how to approach him. | | Start off the battle by laying two sets of Agents of Doom. Then, | | begin strafing around shooting your Lacerator at him. If he jumps at | | you, quickly double jump away, as he will swing at you, causing major | | damage. | | | | After about a quarter of his health is taken away, he'll begin tossing | | security bots at you. At this point, take out your Scorcher and run | | towards him. Continue strafing in front of him and double jump to | | avoid his arm swing attacks. Be sure to keep firing no matter what. | | His health will quickly drain. | | | | When he has about a half of his health left, he will pick up a giant | | beam and use it to attack you. At this point, drop some more Agents of | | Doom and retreat to using your Lacerator. | | | | When you get his health down to about a fifth left, he will head to the | | center of the arena and begin pounding on the ground, which will | | generate some waves of fire. Jump over them, while continuing to shoot | | with your Lacerator. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | Thanks to Brandon Berry for the following strategy. | | | | First, start with the Scorcher. Just keep firing while he is up close, | | being sure to jump and strafe away from his attacks. Then, when he | | jumps back to throw security bots, whip out the Lacerator (or Dual, if | | they're leveled up by now) with the Lock-On Mod. Keep this strategy up | | for the remainder of the battle, being sure to dodge as many of Mungo's | | attacks as possible. And when he gets down to almost no health, he | | starts throwing security bots again. At this point, I deploy some | | Agents of Doom. When they defeat Mungo, they get a large chunk of they | | experience bar filled at once. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Run and grab the armour from the bridge after the fight. [SLUDGE MK. 9 BODY ARMOUR OBTAINED] Head forward towards the door. Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 3,000 Bolts The main thing to remember during this battle is that you can only attack from the front of your vehicle. Other than that, just be sure to keep getting the health pickup and you will win this one easily. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Showdown! "Take out the mad smasherbot!" Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 4,000 Bolts For the beginning of the battle, ram into him a few times. When your health starts to get low (if it does) retreat to the edge of the arena. Circle the arena along the outside edge a few times, getting the health and the powerup. If the powerup is anything but a missile, use it immediately to get rid of it. Once you get a missile, fire it at the smasherbot and quickly ram the bot once. Return to the outside and continue this pattern until you win. It won't take that long. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Smasherbot's Revenge "Take out the mad smasherbot! Again!" Type: Destruction Derby Reward: Crystallix Helmet For this challenge, start off by circling around the outside, only attacking enemies if they get in your way. After a while, all of the enemies will be gone and it will just be you and Smasherbot. Repeat the strategy above for a simple victory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Little League "Be the first one to throw five Gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 1,000 Bolts The main thing here is to never stop moving. Start by quickly getting the bot and tossing it into the goal. On your second one, grab the bot and make a wide turn in the direction opposite your opponite so they don't punch you and cause you to lose your bot. Keep doing this until you eventually win. If your enemy gets the bot before you do, go up and punch them so that they drop it, then quickly pick it up and toss it into the goal. Don't bother with throwing mines, as they are imprecise and hard to use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Varsity Bracket "Be the first one to throw six Gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 2,000 This is the same as the previous one with one exception, the goal is now on the other side of the posts. Tossing the bot into the red side will cause it to fall to the ground. Just follow the same strategy as above, being careful to toss your bot into the right side of the goal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Collegiate Division "Be the first one to throw eight Gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 3,000 Bolts This time, you have two opponents. Keep doing the same strategy and you will win. This one is actually pretty easy, since the other bots will attack each other most of the time and leave you to grab the bot and toss it into the goal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Professional Level "Be the first one to throw nine Gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 4,000 Bolts This one has the same strategy as the previous ones, so it should be pretty easy. Just be sure to avoid your opponents and punch the bots out of their hands. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Uber Finals "Be the first one to throw ten Gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgetbot Toss Reward: Crystallix Gloves There is a new twist to this challenge, two Gadgetbots, two goals. Don't bother with your opponents, let them fight over one Gadgebot. Take the other Gadgebot and quickly make as many goals as you can before they catch on and come after you. From there, just be sure to hit the bot out of their hands and quickly grab it before they do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Two For The Team "Lead three Gadgebots to the house at the end of the course." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 1,000 Bolts Start: 5 Gadgebots Finish: 3 Gadgebots Let the first bot get over until it is on top of the second level floor. Tell it to detonate. When your first one drops down, let it walk one block and then tell it to detonate as well. The other three will walk to the end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bridge The Gap "Lead five Gadgebots to the house at the end of the course." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 2,000 Bolts Start: 9 Gadgebots Finish: 5 Gadgebots As soon as the first two exit, tell them to turn into bridges. Let the others walk until they reach the teleporter, then electrify them all. They will do the rest of the work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Of Trapeze and Teleporters "Lead four Gadgebots to the house at the end of the course." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 3,000 Bolts Start: 8 Gadgebots Finish: 4 Gadgebots Make the first bot swing across, then the second bot. When the first bot has fallen down, let it walk one block, then detonate it. Make all the other bots swing across, then electrify all of them to finish the challenge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brain Trip "Lead three Gadgebots to the house at the end of the course." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 4,000 Bolts Start: 5 Gadgebots Finish: 3 Gadgebots Have your first, second, and third bots swing. Let your first bot drop down, then walk one more block. Quickly detonate him before he hits the directional pad. Be sure to tell the others to swing across, or they will fall and you will have to start over again. When the second one falls into the hole made by the other bot, let it take one step and then detonate it. All of the other bots will walk into the house. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nigh Impossible "Lead four Gadgebots to the house at the end of the course." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: Sludge Mk. 9 Helmet Start: 9 Gadgebots Finish 4 Gadgebots Make all of your bots swing across, and let them form a line in front of the teleporter. When most of them are there, electrify them all. Make the first one detonate after it's direction is changed. They will enter the house. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you beat them all you get a skill point and some armour. If you beat a Gadgebot Toss challenge without letting the enemy score, you will also get another skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (9/25)] [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (10/25)] [CRYSTALLIX HELMET OBTAINED] [CRYSTALLIX GLOVES OBTAINED] [SLUDGE MK. 9 HELMET OBTAINED] When you are done or ready, head backwards and hop onto the large metal carrier. [Continue Point] On the other side, head forward and right and stand on the large, glowing pad. Press "triangle" to turn into giant Clank and begin a space mission. For this space section, be sure to destroy every enemy you can, as getting over 600 points (found next to your health) will net you a skill point. Some general tips for point scoring are: - Use missiles when there are large groups of enemies on screen, don't save them for the boss. The boss only nets you 100 points, whereas you can do much better with large groups of enemies. - Don't be afraid to get hurt a little. It is worth losing a few points of health to get a few more points. Health regenerates as you kill more enemeies, anyway. - If you die, your score resets to zero, so be sure to avoid dying. The boss can be a little tricky, so here's my strategy for it. +-------------------------------------+ | Boss Battle: Technomite Dreadnaught | +-+-------------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | | | When the battle starts, move to the right of the screen and start | | firing off screen. When the ship appears in the middle of the screen, | | unleash any missiles if you have them. | | | | Then, begin circling around the outside of the screen and observe the | | ships pattern. Look at when the pellets stop and when missiles are | | released. When the pellets stop, move towards the center of the ship | | and fire away. Some pink missiles will shoot at you. When they get | | close to you, make a small circle and they will continue right by you. | | | | Keep up the pattern of circling, shooting, and dodging until the ship | | is done for, it won't take that long. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After the battle, Clank will automatically pick up some armour. [ELECTROSHOCK GLOVES OBTAINED] If you got more than 600 points, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (11/25) [Cutscene] -------------------------- Ratchet's Dream (WLRD) -------------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Agents of Doom - Sprout-O-Matic - Scorcher Break the boxes to your left, then jump across the rocks to the small island. Approach the blue background. It will shatter and birds will come out and attack you. Wipe them out, destroy all of the items on this island, then hop through the hole they came out of. Ignore anything off to the sides and continue around the corner to the Gadgetron vendor. Break the boxes, then fill up on ammo. There is a new weapon here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suck Cannon - First Purchase: Ratchet's Dream - Price: 30,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Vortex Cannon - Ammo: Ammo for this gun is done a little differently, since you have to suck up enemies to use them as ammo. Below are the number of enemies you can up at once at each level. -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 10 -Level 3: 12 -Level 4: 16 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Slow The best place to level it up is Ratchet's Dream, using the birds. - Other Comments: I haven't used this weapon that much except for Ratchet's Dream, so I don't know that much about it. It does fire out extremely powerful shots, however. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wouldn't recommend purchasing the Suck Cannon. You are going to have some great weapons coming up that would be a much better use of your money. Either way, continue on, jumping over the umbrella. Ignore the plant and head forward. Take out the birds, break the boxes, and then go back for the plant. Plant it and hit the "head" that comes out towards the next island to cause a Hypershot node to appear. Use the node to get to the next island and brake the boxes. Don't rush forward quite yet, however. Do you see that rotating eye? If you are caught in it's red beam, then it is an instant kill no matter what your health is. Don't worry, you're safe on this island. When it is rotating away from you, hurry after it and brake the boxes along the way. Once you reach the part near the umbrellas, you are safe. Hop across the umbrellas. Plant the two plants here in either soil and hit them both facing the large gap with lights on either side. Two Hypershot nodes will appear. Hop back across the umbrellas and use the Hypershot nodes to cross the gap. Head around the curved path way, but be careful. Along the way, some birds will ambush you and on the other end, near some umbrellas, you will find a new enemy, chainsaw wielding Captain Quark. Take him out, being sure to avoid the chainsaws he throws. Now equip your Hypershot and stand on the edge very near the umbrellas. Turn to face away from the umbrellas and look up. You should see a Hypershot node. Jump onto the first umbrella, turn around, and quickly shoot at it. On top, you will find a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (8/20)] Hop back down and jump across the umbrellas. On the other end, break the boxes and wait. There are two eyes this time. Wait for them to rotate away from each other, then run across. When you get to the part with boxes, you are safe. Prepare your weapons and hop to the next island. Your ship will disappear and some chainsaws will cut the platform into slices. After they are done, some Quarks will appear take them out, then jump over to the portion of the platform with Luna on it. Luna will disappear and the platform will take you over to some Hypershot nodes. Use them to get to the next island. There are lots more eyes here, but it is pretty easy to get past them. Just wait for them to start rotating away from each other, then quickly run along the left side. You will barely make it. When you are next to some boxes, you are safe. Brake the boxes and head forward. [Cutscene] Use the node to cross the gap, then break the boxes and jump over to the hanger. Brake the boxes outside, but don't go in yet. Instead, face the hangar and go around to the left side of it. Jump through the limbs of the plant to find a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (9/20)] Head back and enter the hangar. Approach the mirror, but don't shoot it. If you do, even more enemies will come out. Kill the bird, then enter the door behind it. Hop to the small island, then use the node to swing across to the island with purple water. Take out the birds that come out of the waterfall then break the boxes and wall jump up to the next area. Break the boxes and hop onto the car. Shortly, the car will stop and another carrying a Quark will appear. Take out the Quark, but don't jump on his car. Stay on your car, fighting another Quark, and hop off when it docks. Break the boxes and head inside. Don't break the mirror here, unless you want more enemies to fight. When you have eliminated the bird, enter the door to the left of the door you just came from. Hop onto the magnetic platform. Some birds will attack you along the way. Take them out and wait for the platform to dock on an island with some Clank heads. Some enemies will appear. If you take them out in less than 45 seconds, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (12/25)] Some nodes will appear. Hop across them. [Continue Point] Restock on ammo. Don't head through the portal yet, however. Enter first person mode and look out into space between the portal and the vendor. Shoot your Lacerator out there. Once you see a flash on your screen, jump across the boxes and grab the Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT (10/20)] Head back, then head through the portal. You will be on a series of bolts, fending off enemies. When you have eliminated all of the enemies, a portal will appear to take you to the next island. After several islands, a portal will take you to an island where you will encounter Giant Clank. [Continue Point] In this battle, the goal isn't to destroy Clank, but rather to survive until the battle is over. Giant Clank has three moves. - He will jump up in the air and land some where, generating a circle of butterflies that you must avoid. - He will punch the ground and generate a wave of butterflies that you can either jump over or jump to the side of. - A bullseye will appear under you. When you see this, run until it stops in place then jump away from the butterfly bom. If you make it through the battle without taking a hit you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (13/25)] After the battle, grab the armour. [CRYSTALLIX BODY ARMOUR OBTAINED] [Cutscene] -------------------------------------- Objective Complete: Rescue Ratchet -------------------------------------- -------------------------------- Medical Outpost Omega (WLMO) -------------------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Agents of Doom - Sprout-O-Matic - Scorcher [Cutscene] ------------------------------------- New Objective: Escape the Outpost ------------------------------------- Break the boxes around the room, then collect your Lacerator by the door. Enter and solve the grind lock. Head through the door and kill the spider bots. The door on the opposite the one you just came out of will open, yielding a robot nurse and some more spider bots. Break the boxes, then head through the door. If you want some extra experience, step on either red pad. A turret will shoot up from the floor on the other end of the hall. If you don't, just jump over them. Head into the next room for a few more robot nurses and spider bots. When they are done for, the door on the opposite side of the room will open. Take out the commando bot that comes out and head through. Jump over the pads and enter the next room. Take out all of the boxes, then have Clank enter the turret. While Ratchet repairs the door, you, as Clank, need to stop the enemies from getting to him. To do this, rotate Clank using the analog stick/nub and press "circle" to fire a freezing beam. If there is an enemy on the ceiling, press "X" to rise up and "X" again to go back down. One Ratchet has repaired the door, head through. [Continue Point] Break the boxes, and jump over the pads. Open the door on the other side to find your Acid Bomb Glove. Take out the enemies in here as well as the enemies that storm in. Be sure that your health is full before you pick up the glowing object, as picking it up causes enemies to storm the room. Be sure to take out the robot nurses before you attack the commando bot, as the nurses provide shields. After you are done with them, head through the hole they made. [Continue Point] In here, break the boxes and stock up with ammo at the Gadgetron vendor. The vendor has a few new items. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bee Mine Glove - First Purchase: Medical Outpost Omega - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Killer Bee Mine Glove - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 8 -Level 4: 8 - Upgrade Speed: Very Fast If you can find an area where you can toss the mine down into a group of enemies, you can level this quite easily. Works well with the Agents of Doom/Dread. - Other Comments: I absolutely love this weapon. It is quite weak in its first two levels, but levels 3 and 4 are extremely strong. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all, buy the Bee Mine Glove. It is one of the best weapons in the game. The two gadgets aren't that useful, so I wouldn't recommend buying them, since some more useful items are coming up. Either way, put Clank in the turret. When Ratchet is done, head through the door and take out the enemies. When you are done with them, hop up the ladder on the left side, then drop down and fight the enemies here. If you want to, stay on top and toss down some bee mines to level it up a little. If you do throw bee mines down, be careful. The commando bot will attack if he can hit you with his missiles. So stand on the side near the door you just came out of and throw them from there. After they are done, head down and enter the door that was behind them. [Cutscene] Run over and grab the armour. [CRYSTALLIX BOOTS OBTAINED] Hop through the hole and ride the slide down. Quickly enter the Clank turret. This one is shorter than the other ones, but there are by far more enemies. Just focus on rotating to your left and your right, but don't worry about the ones on the ceiling. Get them when they drop down. Head through the door. [Continue Point] Wall jump to the top and solve the grind lock. Enter the hangar and get ready for a fight. Tons of enemies will storm you. Be sure to go after the nurse bots first, since they heal and provide forcefields for the others. Don't worry about time, you should have plenty. When you are done, collect their bolts and approach your ship. [Cutscene] ------------------------------------------ Objective Complete: Escape the Outpost ------------------------------------------ Head over to the purple haired dude for some more skyboard races. This course can be quite tricky. The first part of the race is easy, just be sure to avoid the walls and obstacles. However, in the second half of the race, the track will begin to wind like a figure eight. You will have two choices of track to go on, the high road or the low road. Both times, take the high road. It will provide you an easier chance to boost over the competition, who almost always take the low road. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interior Decorating Reward: Polarizer Gadget ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Danger, High Voltage Reward: 5,500 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Vortex Reward: 7,000 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vertigo Reward: Electroshock Boots ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You only have the beat the "Interior Decorating" race, but I would recommend completing them all for the bolts and armour. [ELECTROSHOCK BOOTS OBTAINED] Now head straight across from the skyboard guy, past your ship. Here you can find a bed to re-enter Ratchet's Dream. Walk around to the back of the large piece of debris to find another Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT (11/20)] Head over to your ship and get in. Don't go to Challax yet, however. Go to Kalidon and talk to the purple haired guy there. If you beat the "Master Challenge" in under 3:25, you will get a skill point that you couldn't get before. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (14/25)] Go to Metalis for a Titanium Bolt. Go behind your ship and use the polarizer to pull off the metal grate. Ride the conveyor belt, being careful to avoid the spikes. Jump over the gaps and you'll come to a room with a Gadgetron vender and some bots. Kill the bots and restock if you need to. Continue on, jumping over the fire walls and you'll find more bots. Kill them too, then head to the circular pad near where the robots were. Use your hypershot to cross all of the gaps and then fight the bots on the conveyor belt. Avoid the spikes again, and continue until you see a gap with a hypershot node over it. Jump over the gap with the hypershot to find your bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (12/20)] Use the teleporter to return to your ship. Head over to Challax. ------------------ Challax (WLCA) ------------------ Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Agents of Doom - Sprout-O-Matic - Scorcher - Bee Mine Glove - Polarizer [Cutscene] ---------------------------- New Objective: Find Luna ---------------------------- Instead of going to the Technomite City, turn around and jump off the ledge behind your ship. Walk along counter-clockwise to find a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (13/20)] Head back up and do the Giant Clank space mission. For the most part, the actual space section is quite easy. The boss, however, is a different story. +-------------------------------------+ | Boss Battle: Technomite Dreadnaught | +-+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | Start off at the bottom of the screen, shooting down (off screen). If | | you are in the correct position, you will see it's health begin to | | drain. When the ship is in it's final position, unleash any missiles | | you may have. | | | | Quickly begin circling the outside of the screen. Keep doing this | | until it unleashes smaller ships. Then, when you are skimming across | | the bottom of the screen, shoot the smaller ships. You should get one | | or two missiles. Shoot whatever missiles you got while continuously | | rotating around the screen. Repeat this until the boss is done for. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After the battle, Clank will pick up some armour. If you got over 1535 points, you will also get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (15/25)] [ELECTROSHOCK BODY ARMOUR OBTAINED] Head over and ride the car to the Technomite city. [Continue Point] Refill your ammo from the Gadgetron vendor. It has a few new things for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sniper Mine - First Purchase: Challax - Price: 50,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Deadeye Mine - Ammo: -Level 1: 8 -Level 2: 8 -Level 3: 10 -Level 4: 10 - Upgrade Speed: Medium This weapon will only level up quickly if you use it to snipe enemies from a distance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buy the PDA if you have the money, but avoid buying the Sniper Mine at all costs. It's easily the worst weapon in the game. Either way, solve the grind lock by the door and step on the button inside. At the bottom, use the Polarizer on the magnet. Break the boxes and head through the gate. Break the boxes on the other side, and enter the next room. Don't use the Polarizer just yet, however. Run over to the baggage claim at the back of the room and wait. Eventually a Titanium Bolt will rotate out. Take it. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (14/20)] Now use the Polarizer on the magnet. Take out the enemy that comes out and break the boxes inside. Go to the mod vendor and purchase the Double Barrel mod for your Lacerator, then head outside. Take out the enemies, then go over to the magnet. Rotate the screw first, then use the Polarizer to smash open the gate. Head through. [Continue Point] Take out the enemies, then uproot the plant to the left of the door you just came out of. Immediately take out a weapon and fight the two waves of enemies that emerge. Then bring the plant over and plant it in the soil on the opposite side of the statue. Climb up. Smash the boxes up here, then take the plant and plant it in the soil on the front of the platform. Don't hit it at the statue yet. Go around to the other side and hit it at the wall to cause it to break, yielding a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (15/20)] Now hit the plant's bomb at the statue and climb to the top of the statue when it falls. [Continue Point] Solve the grind rail and enter. If you want a skill point, take out your Agents of Doom and place two sets of them. Then place two bee mines near the center of the elevator. If you want the skill point you have to beat this section without using the Lacerator, Acid Bomb Glove, or Concussion Gun. At this point I also got the "Take Them Down a Shock," skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (16/25)] When you are done with all of the enemies, break the boxes outside and go down the zip-line. If you did the last section without the Lacerator, Acid Bomb Glove, or Concussion Gun, then you will get a skill point here too. [Continue Point] [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (17/25)] Use the teleporter to go back to the hovercar and refill your ammo. You will need it. Then head back through the teleporter. Jump across the pillars and onto the large one to start the next portion of the level. You will be being chased by a dropship, who will destroy platforms as you go along. Just watch where it's next target is and never stop moving. This section isn't too hard. Near the end, some poles will start falling down. Don't worry, you can't be hit by them falling, so keep going at full force and jump over them.At the very end, jump across to the platform with a Gadgetron vendor. [Continue Point] Sinceyou probably didn't use any ammo during that last part, skip the vendor and ride the zip-line down. +-----------------------+ | Boss Battle: Dropship | +-+-----------------------+-----------------------------------------------+ | | | During this battle, there will be two Shock Troopers on the sides of | | the platform. Don't bother with them, just concentrate your fire on | | the boss. | | | | Take out your Lacerator (or Dual Lacerators if they are leveled up by | | now) and fire away. Stand near the back (where you landed from the | | zip-line) and fire until it starts making short sweeps instead of one | | long beam. At this point, head towards the center of the platform and | | flip from side to side, still firing. It won't take that long to wear | | it down. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ When it's all over, go forward and pick up the armour. [ELECTROSHOCK HELMET OBTAINED] Approach the door in front of you. [Cutscene] --------------------------------- Objective Complete: Find Luna --------------------------------- --------------------- Dayni Moon (WLDM) --------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Agents of Doom - Sprout-O-Matic - Scorcher - Bee Mine Glove - PDA ----------------------------- New Objective: Catch Luna ----------------------------- Break the boxes around your ship, then go over the the small raised platform. There are some more Clank challenges here that I would recommend doing for the bolts, armour, and the Mootator. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Dayni "Ram the opponents' vehicles to blow them up." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 1,000 Bolts There are two old enemies and one new enemy. This one's pretty simple, just ram into the other enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round Up! "Defeat three mad sheep." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 2,000 Bolts In this one you have spears on your vehicle. Just try and get all of the sheep together and spear them all at once. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Variety is Shocking "Defeat the other vehicles using the electro torso." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 3,000 Bolts The main thing to remember during this battle is that you can only attack from the front of your vehicle. There are two health orbs that continually regenerate, so stay around one of them and let the enemies come to you. If you wait a while, the enemies might wear each other down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Sawyer "Defeat all the enemy vehicles." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 4,000 Bolts For this challenge, start off by circling around the outside, only attacking enemies if they get in your way. If you get stuck between several enemies, press attack and run away, even if it means leaving your health orb behind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Smasherbot Returns "Take down Smasherbot." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 5,000 Bolts There are no health orbs here, so you only have one life bar to do it on. Stay behind Smasherbot and continually pierce him with your spears. It shouldn't take that long. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HAY-re We Are "Be the first one to throw five Gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 1,000 Bolts Just pick up the bot and make sure not to run into the hay bales that are littered around the arena. There's only one bot, so be sure to punch it from the hands of whoever has it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tri-Bomb Tournament "Be the first one to throw eight gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 2,000 There is more than one goal here, but only one Gadgebot. Take the bot to whatever the closest goal is that isn't being guarded by competitors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Around the Bend "Be the first one to throw five gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 3,000 Bolts There is only one goal here, but there are two Gadgebots. Concentrate on getting one into the goal and letting the other bots fight amongst themselves. Be sure to throw it at the green side of the goal, not the red side. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Thin Bouncy Line "Be the first one to throw six gadgebots into the goal" Type: Gadgebot Toss Reward: 4,000 Bolts There are two goals here, along with two Gadgebots, just let them fight over one while you grab the other and score. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ultimate Showdown "Be the first to throw eight gadgebots into the goal." Type: Gadgetbot Toss Reward: Mega-Bomb Gloves The major twist to this challenge is that there are four goals, and infinite Gadgebots. Whenever someone picks up a Gadgebot, another one immediately spawns. Just race to whatever goal is unoccupied and try to avoid your enemies. Don't bother trying to knock their bots out of their hands unless they are directly in front of you on your way back to the dispenser. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two's A Crowd "Fill both houses with gadgebots." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 1,000 Bolts Start: 8 Gadgebots Finish: 6 Gadgebots, 2 Houses of 3 Each Make the first bot detonate and let the others fall through. Electrify three of them and let the other three walk through to the other house. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reverse Into Victory "Fill three houses with gadgebots." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 2,000 Bolts Start: 8 Gadgebots Finish: 6 Gadgebots, 3 Houses of 2 Each Have the first bot detonate. Let two walk through the teleporter and walk into the highest house. Have the next two electrify when they first hit the teleporter to fill the second house. Have the final two walk past the teleporter innitially, then electrify after being turned around by the directional pad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Emergency Bridge "Fill two houses with gadgebots." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 3,000 Bolts Start: 9 Gadgebots Finish: 6 Gadgebots, 2 Houses of 3 Each Electrify the first three bots at the teleporter to have them walk right into the first house. Have the next two teleport and turn into bridges at the gap the first three fell into. Electrify the final three to cause them to enter the second house. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leap of Faith "Fill one house with gadgebots." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 4,000 Bolts Start: 9 Gadgebots Finish: 5 Gadgebots Have the first two bots swing across the gap and be turned around the the directional pad. When they reach the gap to the left of the house, make both of them turn into bridges. Make the third bot drop down into the gap with the rope instead of swinging. Tell him to detonate right above the two new bridge blocks. Finally, just let the remaining bots fall into the hole and walk to victory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Infinite Improbability "Guide a gadgebot into a house." Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: Sludge Mk. 9 Helmet Start: 6 Gadgebots Finish 1 Gadgebots Have your first bot drop down onto the platform below and detonate on the block right before the rope. Have the second bot drop down two platforms and bridge the gap between the set of two blocks and the single block. Make the third bot drop all the way down to the directional pad, and tell him to bridge the gap between the pad and the teleporter. By now you should have two bots on the screen and another left in your dispenser. First tell the topmost one (who should be almost at the place where your first bot detonated) to bridge, then rush down to the bottom one (who should be next to the teleporter) to electrify. Your final bot should spawn. Tell the guy on the right to bridge after he falls from the platform the teleport exit was on. Have the guy on the left swing across the gap and walk right into the house. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you beat them all, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (18/25)] [MEGA-BOMB GLOVES OBTAINED] [SLUDGE MK. 9 HELMET OBTAINED] [MOOTATOR GADGET OBTAINED] With your new Mootator, head back to Pokitaru and run around the training course again. Shoot all of the crabs with the Mootator. If you don't get a skill point, go to another planet and return. Once you turn 26 crabs into cows, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (19/25)] Now return to Dayni Moon and refill your ammo at the Gadgetron vendor. There is a new weapon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shock Rocket - First Purchase: Dayni Moon - Price: 55,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Electro Rocket - Ammo: -Level 1: 20 -Level 2: 20 -Level 3: 22 -Level 4: 22 - Upgrade Speed: Slow In it's first two levels, you will find that it upgrades quite easily. From level 3 on, however, it takes an enormous amount of experience to level up. - Other Comments: I used this weapon quite a lot from when I got it. Very useful on bosses and large groups of foes, due to the electrical arcs that hurt nearby enemies when they are near the missile. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have the money, by all means, buy it. Head down the slope near the vendor and continue past the sheep. At the bottom, take out the commando bot and enter the barn. Some angry ram enemies will attack you. If you want a skill point, DON'T attack them. Eventually the sun will rise and they will turn back into sheep. Kill the sheep and exit the barn. Break the boxes, then go back through the barn and either plant from the side you entered the barn. Place the plant with the dark blue head in the soil farthest away from the barn and the plant with the light blue head next to the barn. The plants will not grow at night, however, so if it turns to night you have to wait for it to return to day. When they are both planted, jump onto the lower plant. Don't jump to the higher one just yet. Instead, wait for Ratchet to land on the plant and press "X". He should jump higher. Do this 10 times for a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (20/25)] Then, face the barn you just came out of and high jump onto the ledge above the door you just came from for a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (16/20)] Jump back to the low flower, then the high one, then the ledge. [Continue Point] Continue around the corner. Luna will send some angry rams your way. If you are going for the skill point, use the Mootator on them. It won't count as a kill. Either way, you have to eliminate them. Head through the door and break the boxes. Emerge through the other side and fight the commando bot. Go through the door opposite the one you just came from and fight the angry rams here. Remember to use the Mootator if you are going for the skill point. When the sun rises, bring the plant over and plant it in the soil. Hit it with your wrench to be sent over to a bouncy plant. [Continue Point] Jump from this one to the next. This next jump can be quite tricky, so make sure you do a high jump, then slowly glide down. You will barely make it. Take out the commando bots and break the boxes. Go around to the side opposite the one you landed on and complete the grind lock. Bring the light blue plant inside and plant it. High jump and look just above your head for a platform. High jump to it and Ratchet will grab on. Pull up to find a Titanium Bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (17/20)] Hop back down and spray more water on the plant to make it dissapear. Take that plant again and plant it in the soil just outside of the door to the building you just got the Titanium Bolt in. Plant the dark blue plant in the soil next to it. Hop up them and onto the ledge at the top. Take the armour. [MEGA-BOMB HELMET OBTAINED] Go into the barn near you and Luna will start some traps. Just wait until they separate and run through. At the end, restock at the Gadgetron vendor and head forward. [Continue Point] [Cutscene] +-------------------+ | Boss Battle: Luna | +-+-------------------+---------------------------------------------------+ | | | In her first form, Luna will be in a crop duster firing at you. Wait | | until she appears behind you, then jump away from her fire. Eventually | | she will deploy a harvester. Never stop moving and eventually Luna will enter her final | | form. | | | | To start, jump over the harvester as it approaches you. If you have | | Shock Rocket, pull it out and start firing. If you don't, the Dual | | Lacerators will do. Keep circling the edge of the ring. Luna has | | three main attacks. | | | | - She will attempt to ram you with her harvester. Just jump over it. | | - She will shoot beams from her harverster at you. Keep running the | | same way around the outside as you have been and they will miss you. | | - She will send down gas bombs. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (21/25)] ---------------------------------- Objective Complete: Catch Luna ---------------------------------- [Cutscene] ----------------------- Inside Clank (WLIC) ----------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Agents of Doom - Sprout-O-Matic - Scorcher - Bee Mine Glove - PDA [Cutscene] ---------------------------- New Objective: Fix Clank ---------------------------- Go over to the Gadgetron vendor and refill your ammo. There is also a new weapon here for purchase. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Static Barrier - First Purchase: Inside Clank - Price: 65,000 - Upgrade Name: Repulser Field - Ammo: -Level 1: 5 -Level 2: 5 -Level 3: 5 -Level 4: 5 - Upgrade Speed: Medium-Fast If you purchase this one immediately, you will find that you will almost have it leveled up to it's max by the end of the game. - Other Comments: Purchase this one as soon as it becomes available. It is the most useful weapon in the game by far. The final boss is almost impossible without it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Purchase this weapon as soon as possible. It is almost required for the final boss. If you don't have enough money to purchase it right now, go to the "Making Money" portion of the guide to find out how to make enough money to buy it quickly. Now approach the ledge with the zip-line, but don't go down on the zip-line quite yet. Instead, jump off of the edge and turn around. You will see a ladder. Walk over to the left side of the walkway you are on and rotate the camera so that you can see a platform behind the ladder. Jump there. Here, grab the bolt. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (18/20)] Jump back. Down the walkway, you will see some enemies. If you want a skill point, only use your wrench from now until you see a skill point obtained screen. That also means no Static Barrier. Either way, take down the enemies in front of you. Jump ontop of the lights to the left of the doorway, then jump up to the next light. Continue this until you get to the top one. Here, jump up onto the platform to find the Titanium Bolt at the end of the walkway. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (19/20)] Go through the hallway behind them and kill the enemies that try to come up the ramp in here. Break the boxes and approach the large blue door. It will open. Slowly walk down the hall to unleash two enemies. Bring them back into the previous room to fight them, then head further down the hall. This time four enemies will spawn. Take them out and go through the blue door opposite the one you entered through. In here, fight the enemies being sure to avoid the exposed electricity on the floor. It does quite a lot of damage. If you want an easier solution, stand in the doorway of the blue door you just came through. The enemies in here won't be able to hit you, but you can hit them. Either way when you approach the door in the back of the room, three more enemies will come out. Take them out and enter the door they came from. Refill your ammo at the Gadgetron vendor and break the boxes. Enter the next blue door. In here, enemies will come down on an elevator. Plant some bee mines around the elevator and unleash the Agents of Doom/Dread. Then equip your Dual Lacerators or Shock Rocket and fight the enemies as they come down. After two waves, ride the elevator up. Go through the hallway and onto the fan. Ignore the enemies on either side and go towards the center of the fan. Press the button here. Let the fan raise you up until you can see an open floor. Hover over to it. Go around either way, taking out the enemies as you go. Enter the doorway. Destroy the enemies in here, then continue down the hallway for a Gadgetron vendor. Refill on ammo, then go through the blue door. In here, several waves of enemies will attack you from all sides. Just be sure to keep your shield up and use your PDA if you have to. If you are low on health, break a health crate and retreat to a side of the room to reapply your shield. After they are done with, break the boxes in here and go through the newly opened door. [Continue Point] Solve the grind lock. Take out the enemies in the next room, then equip your Polarizer. Jumping to dodge the red waves that are unleased, pick up a piece with the Polarizer and move around the heart until it fits into one of the slots. If you only used your wrench until now, you will get a skill point after all four are in. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (22/25)] --------------------------------- Objective Complete: Fix Clank --------------------------------- Go through the newly opened door, up the ramp, and press the button. [Cutscene] ------------------------------- New Objective: Escape Clank ------------------------------- If you want a skill point, don't get hit from now until you exit Clank. Go forward. [Continue Point] Break the boxes and refill your ammo at the Gadgetron vendor. Go through the blue beam array when it's not firing, then approach the fan. Wait for a gap to form in front of you then run through. Don't jump or you may hit the middle and lose health. Go through the next laser array and equip the Polarizer. Stand on the platform with the pole sticking out of it and use the Polarizer. Go through the array and stand on the next platform. Use the Polarizer here too. Don't go forward too fast. The yellow spark that is tracing the floor will hurt you if you touch it, so wait until it is away from you, then jump over it's track. Hop across the gaps and take out the enemies that appear. Walk up the wall. Near the top, some blue lasers will fire. Wait for them to turn off, then run through. Wait for the next set to turn off and run through those too. Walk down the next portion of wall. Take out the enemies here and refill at the Gadgetron vendor. Avoid the yellow spark and stand on the platform with the pole on it. Use the Polarizer to rotate yourself to the ceiling. Walk through the beams when they aren't on and use the Polarizer on the next platform to rotate yourself to the ground. Hypershot across the next gap and destroy the enemies that spawn. Go through the next doorway. In here, several blue beams will be firing at different intervals. To make it easy to cross, just jump onto the dividers and hop across the room. On the other side, hop onto the platform. [Continue Point] Swing across the Hypershot nodes. Jump to the second platform when the beams turn off. When the first set of beams on the third platform are still on, jump across to land just as they turn off. Be careful of the second laser and use the Hypershot nodes to get to the next platform. Enter the doorway. [Continue Point] Stand on the platform, and use the Polarizer on the magnet in the opposite corner to pull yourself across the gap. Take out the enemies that appear, then go through the laser array. If you want to, break the boxes behind the sparks. Either way, go through the doorway and head down the hall. Stand on the platform and equip the Polarizer. Use it on the magnet that is far away from the blue laser (across from the door you just came out of) and then on the one near the next walkway. Avoid the spark and continue. Stand on the next platform and use the Polarizer on the magnet right in front of you. Now turn to your right and use it on the magnet farthest from the lasers. Now face the magnet you just used it on and turn 180 degrees. Use it on the magnet there. Face the opposite way of that magnet and use it on the magnet farthest from the lasers near you. Finally, use it on the magnet nearest the platform. On the platform you will find some armour. [MEGA-BOMB BODY ARMOUR OBTAINED] Go into the hallway and drop down the chute. If you didn't get hit at all, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (23/25)] [Cutscene] ------------------------------------ Objective Complete: Escape Clank ------------------------------------ Use the teleporter to return to your ship. Hop in your ship and go to the planet Quadrona. ------------------- Quadrona (WLQA) ------------------- Recommended Quick Select: - Hypershot - Lacerator - Acid Bomb Glove - Agents of Doom - Sprout-O-Matic - Scorcher - Bee Mine Glove - PDA [Cutscene] ---------------------------------------- New Objective: Destroy Otto Destruct ---------------------------------------- Refill your ammo at the Gadgetron vendor. There is a new weapon here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laser Tracer - First Purchase: Quadrona - Price: 85,000 Bolts - Upgrade Name: Optical Laser Array - Ammo: -Level 1: 200 -Level 2: 200 -Level 3: 300 -Level 4: 300 - Upgrade Speed: Very Slow Chances are you won't even level this one up once by the end of the game. - Other Comments: While this gun is very, very strong, it has a major problem. You have to stand still to use it. This is partially helped by the fact that there is a small shield on the front that protects you from enemy fire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have enough money, buy it. It makes the last boss much, much easier. Go down the ramp and enter the door. Some enemies and turrets will appear in here. Take them out. Break the boxes in here, then solve the grind lock. Enter the doorway, and quickly take out the two bots in here. Some Ratchet clones will enter through the far door. The key with these guys is to never stop moving. If you keep moving, their attacks will rarely, if ever, hit you. Go out through the door they came from. [Continue Point] Use the Hypershot nodes to make it to the other side. Go through the door and break the boxes. In here, Ratchet clones will break through the green glass and attack you. Slowly proceed through the room so that you don't unleash more than three at a time. After they are all done for, go through the door opposite the one you enterend from. Break the boxes in here, then go through the door. Break the plethora of boxes here, then jump onto the first platform. Your goal here is to wall jump off of the wall across from you to make it to the platform above you. All along, some pillars will be descending. If you are in the air while they are coming down and they hit you, you will have to start all over. The wall jumping can be quite frustrating. It is important to note that you cannot wall jump after a double jump. After the pillar goes through the dark forcefield, quickly wall jump up to the next platform. After the pillar passes, wall jump again. Do it once more to reach the top. [Continue Point] Break the boxes here, then refill with ammo. Go through the doorway, but don't jump down quite yet. Below you, Ratchet clones are training. If you shoot something down there, the platform you are standing on will break and send you down there with them. So shoot something to cause your platform to break, then let them swarm around you. Once they are near the door you just came out of, jump back up to the doorway. The door won't open, but you can still stand there and shoot them. Once they are done with, break the boxes and refill your ammo. Solve the grind lock. Before you enter the next room, toss a few bee mines in there. Spawn some Agents of Doom/Dread, then head in. Enemies will swarm you in waves from different doors around the room. Fight them with your Dual Lacerators or Shock Rocket while keeping up the bee mines and Agents. Be sure to keep strafing to avoid their attacks. After four waves, a door will open. Go through, but don't do too far. To the left of the door is a stack of crates. Hop up these crates to the top to find the Titanium Bolt sitting there. [TITANIUM BOLT OBTAINED (20/20)] Hop back down. Quickly run across the room, ignoring any enemies that come out of crates. Jump on the large red button here, then turn around and quickly enter the large door that it opened. [Continue Point] Don't bother with the vendor quite yet. Instead, approach the far door. [Cutscene] Don't fight these guys, just jump off the edge. You will spawn next to the Gadgetron vendor. Now you can refill your ammo. You will notice that the Ratchet clones are no longer following you from before. Approach the far door again to begin a large battle. In here, you must survive 3 minutes. Don't be bashful about using your PDA in here. You only have one battle left. This is also a great place to level up weapons. If you want to level them up, just jump off of the side before the time runs out. Refill your ammo at the vendor and repeat as desired. If you want a skill point, destroy 70 Ratchet clones in the 3 minutes. The easiest way to do this is to spawn some Agents of Doom/Dread and some bee mines. Then equip your Dual Lacerators or Shock Rocket and fight them like that. Keep spawning the mines and Agents. It may take you a few tries, but you'll get it eventually. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (24/25)] If you don't want the skill point, just run around the edge of the arena until time runs out. [Cutscene] [Continue Point] You are now being chased by giant Otto. Start out by doing several long jumps. If you just run, he'll catch up to you eventually. Dodge the lamps as they fall and watch out for pieces of ground that are different colors. Otto will shrink these, thus making them fall and form a gap. At the end, be sure to jump the final gap. [Cutscene] [Continue Point] You are now in a giant Clank battle with him. This is much, much easier than it seems. As soon as the battle starts, fire as many missiles as you can using the "Circle" button. When he starts floating in the air, jump up and shoot him with more missiles. Continue doing this until he dies. [Cutscene] [Continue Point] Refill ammo at the vendor. If you want a skill point, use the teleporter to return to your ship. Quickly run back to the point before the arena battle. If you do it in under 1:45, you will get a skill point. [SKILL POINT OBTAINED (25/25)] Now approach the door next to the Gadgetron vendor to begin the fight with Otto. +----------------------------+ | Boss Battle: Otto Destruct | +-+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | This boss battle will take you quite a while. Otto will start out with | | a green forcefield over him. If you have the Laser Tracer, use it now. | | The health of his forcefield is shown by the green bar that is over his | | his yellow health bar. | | | | He has two attacks during this stage. The first attack that he will | | use is sending green beams at you. If the beam is close to the ground, | | jump over it. If the beam is higher than ground level, either duck | | under it or run to either side of it. The next attack is that two | | hands will appear next to you. Count to one, then double jump to avoid | | them crushing you. | | | | After his shield goes down, he will start running around, defenseless. | | Switch to the Dual Lacerators or the Shock/Electro Rocket. Keep firing | | until his shield goes back up. Repeat. | | | | Eventually (at about half health) Otto will go back up without his | | shield. At this point he will have some new attacks. He will still | | send energy beams at you, but now they will come in groups of three or | | four. He will also send a ball of energy at you. These will hurt you | | much more than any of his other attacks. His final attack is similar | | to his previous "hands" attack. Instead of crushing you, however, they | | will attempt to punch you. Dodge them in the same way you did the | | other attacks. | | | | In this form, equip your Laser Tracer. After he attacks you, stand | | still and use your Laser Tracer to attack him. Repeat this until the | | end of the battle. Be sure to keep raising your Static Barrier and | | don't worry about using your PDA. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | Thanks to Stephanie Collett for this tip. | | | | in the final boss you can also use the deadeye sniper to take down his | | shield, then use the shock rocket to hurt him. then when he is about | | halfway down on his health he will drop his shield, then use your | | rockets to damage him when you run out oh them use the deadeye. it may | | take a little more time to kill him, but it is safer. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ [Cutscene] Congratulations! You have just completed "Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters!" ======================= Skill Points (SILP) ======================= ------------------- Pokitaru (SKPK) ------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Train Faster "Complete the 'training' portion of Pokitaru in less than 1:32." For those who don't know, the "training" portion of Pokitaru is the first part, where Luna is following you, from the first part where you control Ratchet until you raise the bridge and walk across. The easiest and best way to get this skill point is to go through the course once, eliminating every enemy along the way, then go back through quickly without Luna. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't Rock The Boat "Complete the boat challenge on Pokitaru without taking a single hit." For those who don't know, the "boat" portion of Pokitaru starts when you get on the boat and ends when you enter your ship. While you can techincally get this skill point on your first time there, it's easier to get near the end of the game or in challenge mode. The best advice here is to constantly double jump to avoid enemy fire. You don't have much room on the boat, so flipping away is out of the option. Just equip your strongest weapon and try to avoid enemy fire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do Cows Get Crabby? "Turn 26 crabs into cows with the Moonator/Armoogeddon." This skill point should be done in challenge mode for one simple reason, there are tons more crabs there than there would be by the time you have access to the Moonator/Armoogeddon in your first playthrough. Just be sure not to kill any of the crabs with other weapons until you get the skill point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Ryllus (SKRL) ----------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bury the Pygmies "Get Bury Blossoms to Eat 4 Pygmy Tribesmen." Let's get some terminology out of the way first. "Bury Blossoms" are the large man-eating plants on the second planet, and "Pygmy Tribesmen" are the small yellow creatures that attack you with swords. Simply find four of them, and lead them over close to a bury blossom to have them get eaten. It's easier when you have the static barrier weapon, because you can run in front of the pygmies to block the bury blossom's projectiles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lights, Camera, Action! "Kill 10 floating cameras." Just shoot or wrench the floating cameras that follow you. They respawn, so just wait for them if you can't find any. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ship It "Break all the crates on the level." Just keep doing overhead smashes when you see boxes. You also have to get every box in the Clank portion of the level. If you seem to be missing a box, just run through the level again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Kalidon (SKKL) ------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Explosive Ordnance Disposal "Clear all the remote bombs in the Gravity Boot sphere." Run through the sphere until you get to the end, using whatever weapon to destroy all of the bombs along the way. If you didn't get them all, turn around and use a long range weapon (like the Sniper Mine) to pick off the ones that are still there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Super Lombax "Kill 25 enemies in a row without getting hit." Just equip your static barrier and use your strongest weapon. I would recommend doing this one in challenge mode, because you'll have better weapons. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be A Cool Skyboarder "Win a skyboarding race without using boost." For clarification, "boost" is what causes you to float in the air when you press square or circle. Just do the "Learner's Permit" race and focus on cutting corners and going in straight lines. You can still use the red boost floors, so go for as many of those as you can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ Metalis (SKMT) ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shutout "Win a Gadgebot Toss challenge without letting anyone else score." Just go to the very first Gadgebot Toss challenge and keep using the punch move to make sure the enemy doesn't score. This one's pretty easy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terror of the Skies "Get over 600 points on the Giant Clank challenge." NOTE: In challenge mode, you have to get over 950. Play through the challenge once to learn where enemies are, then go through again. When there are lots of enemies on the screen, use whatever rockets you have stored to clear them all out. When you come across the debris field, try and shoot all of the debris to get more points. Do note that you must get over the point amount, meaning that in normal mode, you have to get at least 601 points, and 951 in challenge mode. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ultimate Gladiator "Complete all Clank arena challenges." Just beat all of the Clank challenges on this planet. Check the "Clank Challenges" section for info on every challenge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- Ratchet's Dream (SKRD) -------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friend's Don't Hurt Friends "Get through the Giant Clank fight without taking a single hit." This one's pretty easy. Just run and jump away from every attack he throws at you. You can only do this once per playthrough, so save beforehand if you want to try it multiple times. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night Terrors "Defeat the waves of enemies on the last island in under 45 seconds." This is best accomplished in challenge mode, when you have all of the more powerful weapons. To make this really easy, use the RYNO. The portion the game is referring to is the island before the last Gadgetron vendor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- Medical Outpost Omega (SKMO) -------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be An Awesome Skyboarder "Beat the master challenge in under 3:25." The biggest tip for this is to use boost on the red boost floors. It will give you an amazingly fast boost. Also, at the end where there are just large chunks of ground floating through the air, use your boost and just fly over them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ Challax (SKCA) ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Them Down A Shock "Kill 23 Shock Trooper without dying." The "Shock Troopers" are the enemies with staffs that shoot electrical beams at you. Just use whatever strongest weapon you have and keep flipping around to avoid their shocks. It works best in challenge mode where you have stronger weapons and there are more enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- High Tech Weapons Master "Beat the enemy segment without using the Lacerator, Acid Bomb Glove, Concussion Gun, Shock Rocket, Laser Tracer, Sniper Mine or the RYNO." The "enemy segment" is the long elevator ride where enemies are coming in through the windows until you ride down the zip-line. There are different strategies on this, but mine has worked for me many times quite easily. Spawn two groups of Agents of Doom/Dread, then put a (Killer) Bee Mine near the center. Step on the button and keep throwing (Killer) Bee Mines and hitting enemies with your wrench. If you have Hyperborean armor on, you will freeze the enemies for a short period of time, thus letting the Agents and bees to get at them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No More Varmints! "Get over 1535 points in the Giant Clank Challenge." NOTE: In challenge mode, you have to get over 2000 points. This skill point is much, much easier to get in challenge mode, so I would recommend waiting until then. Save your missiles until the screen is full of enemies (and trust me, it will be FULL with enemies) and unleash everythin you've got. It might take you a few tries, so be patient. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Dayni Moon (SKDM) --------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ultimate Gladiator "Complete all Clank arena challenges." Some of these challenges are quite difficult, so be sure to check my "Clank Challenges" section for more info on each of them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wool Protest "Complete level 8 without killing any Angry Rams." "Angry Rams" are what sheep turn into at night, you can tell if they are "Angry Rams" because they have red eyes. When in the barn, just wait for it to turn back to day and kill them when they are sheep. You will get the skill point at the end of the planet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy "High Jump on a bouncy plant 10 times in a row." "High jumps" on plants are caused by hopping on a bouncy plant, then pressing "X" every time you land on the flower. You will see that you jump much higher. Do this 10 times in a row. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------- Inside Clank (SKIC) ----------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not the Shock of Me Now "Don't get hit at all while inside Clank's head." The "Clank's head" portion of the level comes after the security guard turns Clank's security system back on. Be sure to have your shield on and be careful around enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ratchet... Just Ratchet "Beat the enemy segment only using the wrench." The "enemy segment" is everything from when you get off of your ship until you repair Clank's heart. Be sure to use your overhead smash, as it is not only the most powerful, but also is helpful to avoid enemy attacks. If you want to make this really easy, equip the "Stalker" armour set. Check the "Armour" portion of the guide to find out what pieces to equip. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Quadrona (SKQA) ------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elite Anihilation "Defeat over 70 Elite clones during the clone fight." This skill point is extremely hard to do in normal mode, so I would recommend doing it in challenge mode. Be sure to wear your shield and use your most powerful weapons. The way I got it is quite easy and painless, however. When you start the round, throw out two sets of Agents of Doom/Dread. Then throw out a (Killer) Bee Mine and switch to your most powerful weapon. Start shooting enemies until your (Killer) Bee Mine runs out. Keep shooting and quickly switch back to your (Killer) Bee Mine Glove. Throw one and return to shooting enemies. I got the skill point with about 45 seconds left in the round. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Storm the Front "Complete the enemy portion of level 10 in less than 1:45." The "enemy portion" is everything from your ship until the arena with the Ratchet clones. Pretty much the only way to do this is to go through and kill all the enemies, then warp back to your ship. Quickly run through again and you will get the skill point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========================= Titanium Bolts (TTNU) ========================= ------------------- Pokitaru (TBPK) ------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 After you walk up the metal, magnetic wall, destroy all of the enemies and walk over to the zip-line. Instead of riding the zip line, turn almost all the way around, to where you are parallel to the edge across from the metal wall you just came up. The platform with the bolt is slightly obscured by a rock. Use your long jump to reach the platform. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 When you are riding the boat, jump off at the island with all of the crabs. Fight the crabs and hop onto the second hovercraft. You can either kill the enemies on the second island or just avoid their fire, it doesn't matter. Jump over to the third island and eliminate all of the enemies. Walk along the beach to the left of the farthest left hut to find the bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Ryllus (TBRL) ----------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 After you exit your ship, turn left 90 degrees and walk over the edge. The bolt will be right there on the platform you land on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 Right before you send Clank into the temple, turn around. The bolt will be floating near the wall you just came through. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Kalidon (TBKL) ------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 Face the direction that you are supposed to head (next to the Gadgetron vendor) and turn 180 degrees. Walk over the edge to find the bolt in a small crater. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 Before you activate the first grind lock, face the door that the grind lock opens. Turn 90 degrees to your left and walk over to the ledge that you are facing, but don't jump off. Instead, turn 90 degrees to your right and walk behind the small wall here to find the bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 3 Before you enter the sphereical room with all of the magnetic paths, enter first person mode to look for the bolt. When you find it, walk up the right wall in the doorway you are in (the wall near the edge is magnetic) and walk up. When you are on the right wall, walk forward to find that there is a path there. Walk along it, turning right at the intersection, to find the bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ Metalis (TBMT) ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 In order to get this Titanium Bolt, you must have the polarizer. Use the teleporter to return to your ship. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- Ratchet's Dream (TBRD) -------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 When you see three umbrellas moving, equip your hypershot and turn around. You will see the target above you. It is easier to jump onto the first umbrella and then hook onto the node. You will find your bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 When you are at the entrence to a large hanger-looking structure, right by a check point, go around to the left side to find it floating there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 3 Near the Gadgetron vendor where there is a blue teleporter, there is a large bolt floating out in space. Shoot it with a weapon until you see a flash on your screen. Use the boxes as platforms to get over to the bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- Medical Outpost Omega (TBMO) -------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 After the Outpost is destroyed, go over to the bed where you can re-enter Ratchet's Dream. Behind some of the garbage there will be the bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ Challax (TBCA) ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 Jump down to the ledge below your ship (don't worry, it goes all the way around) and walk around to find this bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 After you first use the polarizer, enter the second room where you would use the polarizer (it would push suitcases into a machine, along with two of the small baddies) and walk over to the baggage claim area. Wait a while and the bolt will come out of the baggage claim. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 3 After you climb the ladder plant near the giant Otto Statue onto a platform with a room with a bomb plant inside, plant the bomb plant. Instead of sending the bomb toward the Otto statue, turn around and hit it the other way to break the back wall in this room. The bolt will be in the hidden room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Dayni Moon (TBDM) --------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 When you plant the two spring plants, jump on the higher one, and face the ledge that you are supposed to jump to. Turn 180 degrees and jump to the ledge above the barn to get this bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 After you glide over the big gap onto the island with the massive building, kill both enemies here. Go around to the other side from where you landed and solve the grind lock. Take the smaller spring plant inside and plant it. Jump on it, and keep doing high jumps until you find this bolt on a high ledge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------- Inside Clank (TBIC) ----------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 Right at the beginning, where there is the zip-line, approach the ledge with the zip-line. Instead of riding the zip-line, fall straight down. Turn 180 degrees to find a ladder behind you. Walk to the far left of the platform you are currently on and jump and glide to behind the ladder. You will land on a platform with a bolt on it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 2 After you use the zip line, kill the Shock Troopers. Jump up the lights to the left of the doorway and onto the walkway. It is floating at the end of the walkway. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Quadrona (TBQA) ------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Titanium Bolt 1 In the red octogonal room with the four waves of Ratchet clones and all of the Ratchet dummies, kill all four waves. A door will open, go through it. To the left of the door is a bunch of boxes. Climb on top of them to find a platform you can jump on. On the platform will be the bolt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========================= Challenge Mode (CALN) ========================= Challenge Mode is unlocked after beating the game once. In Challenge Mode, you start the game over with all of your armor, skill points, weapons, titanium bolts, and health. Enemies and bosses have more health and do more damage. BOLT MULTIPLIER: In the top right corner of the screen, just below your current bolts, there will be a number. This number is your bolt multiplier. When you defeat enemies without being hit, this multiplier will go up. Whenever you gain bolts, they will be multiplied by the current bolt multiplier. The maximum bolt multiplier is x12. ARMOUR: If there are any armour pieces you did not collect on your first playthrough (like the ones from the Clank Challenges), you can still get them in challenge mode. In addition to the old armour pieces, there are now two extra sets of armour you can find. On your first playthrough in challenge mode, you will find the Hyperborean armour. On your second playthrough, you will find the Chameleon armour. WEAPONS: If there are any weapons that you did not purchase on your first playthrough of the game, you can still buy them now. However, if you have any weapons that are powered up to their level 4 version, you can purchase their "Titan" form. "Titan" weapons are more powerful versions of the old weapons you already have, and you can level them up an additional four levels. ====================== Unlockables (ULCA) ====================== ---------------- Skins (RCSK) ---------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kanga-Ratchet - PS2 Only 2 Titanium Bolts Ratchet looks like a kangaroo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hiro Ratchet - PS2 Only 2 Titanium Bolts Ratchet looks like a samurai. This is a parody of the character "Hiro" from the television show "Heroes". In the show, he travels back to feudal Japan and dresses very much like this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tropical Vacation 4 Titanium Bolts Ratchet looks beach-ready. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plundering Pirate Captain 6 Titanium Bolts Ratchet looks like a pirate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ratchetzilla 6 Titanium Bolts Ratchet looks like Godzilla. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dan Win 10 online matches without getting hit. I'm not sure what this one looks like, due to the fact that I do not own the PSP version. If someone could send me a description, I will add them to the "Special Thanks" section. In the PS2 version, you only need to get all of the Titanium Bolts to unlock this skin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Cheats (RCCA) ----------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Big Headed Giant Clank 1 Skill Point In the space sections, Giant Clanks head gets much bigger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Big Headed Clank 3 Skill Points Clanks head gets massive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Big Headed Ratchet 5 Skill Points Makes Ratchet's head much larger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She's On Fire 7 Skill Points Luna has a fire effect all over her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More Cowbell 9 Skill Points When you kill an enemy that has been turned into a cow with the Moonator/ Armoogeddon, they will make a cow bell sound. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirrored Levels 10 Skill Points Levels are flipped horizontally. You only have to do two of these, "Learner's Permit" on Kalidon and "Interior Decorating" on Medical Outpost Omega, however, it is worth doing all of them in order to get the armour and bolts they provide. ------------------ Kalidon (SCKL) ------------------ The course here is a pretty generic circular path. 9 Gloves ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- Medical Outpost Omega (SCMO) -------------------------------- This course can be quite tricky. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interior Decorating Reward: Polarizer Gadget ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Danger, High Voltage Reward: 5,500 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Vortex Reward: 7,000 Bolts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vertigo Reward: Electroshock Boots ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =========================== Clank Challenges (CAKH) =========================== Clank Challenges come in three types, Destruction Derby, Gadgebot Survival, and Gadgetbot Toss. DESTRUCTION DERBY: +---------------+ | Buzzsaw | +---------------+----+-------------------+ | Analog Stick/Nub | Move Clank | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Square" Button | Start Up Saw | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Circle" Button | Use Powerup | +--------------------+-------------------+ +---------------+ | Ram | +---------------+----+-------------------+ | Analog Stick/Nub | Move Clank | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Square" Button | Charge at Enemy | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Circle" Button | Use Powerup | +--------------------+-------------------+ +---------------+ | Shocker | +---------------+----+-------------------+ | Analog Stick/Nub | Move Clank | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Square" Button | Charge Beam | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Circle" Button | Use Powerup | +--------------------+-------------------+ Clank will man one of three different vehicles and try to destroy his opponents. Every once in a while, Clank will have "Boss" encounters during these events. The bosses are just like regular opponents, but have more health. The three vehicles Clank will pilot are: - The Buzzsaw, which has four saws around it. To use, press "square" to start it up, and then quickly ram into as many enemies as possible to deal damage. Keep doing this to destroy the enemies. - The Ram, which has a blunt front and is used to ram into enemies. To use, aim at the enemy you want to attack, then press "square" to charge at them. - The Shocker, which has a purple light coming out of the front. To use, press "square" when close to an enemy in order to expend into your enemies. GADGEBOT SURVIVAL: +---------------+ | Gadgebots | +---------------+----+-------------------+ | "Triangle" Button | Open Job Menu | +--------------------+-------------------+ | D-Pad or Stick/Nub | Assign a Job | +--------------------+-------------------+ In this mode, Gadgebots will start coming out of a dispenser. You have to use your limited number of Gadgebots to reach the end with enough Gadgebots left to meet the number required to complete the mission. In order to do this, you have to assign them jobs. You can assign jobs to your Gadgebots by pressing and holding "Triangle" and then moving the D-Pad or Analog Stick/Nub in the direction of the job you want them to have. - Swing: The Gadgebot's light will turn white. If you see a rope swinging from the ceiling, Gadgebots in swing mode will use it to swing to the other side of the gap. - Bridge: The Gadgebot's light will turn pink. At the next available gap, the gadgebot will fall down and form a one brick bridge. If the gap is more than one brick wide, you will need to use enough Gadgebots to bridge the entire gap. - Detonate: The Gadgebot's light will turn orange. The Gadgebot will stop right where it is and explode, destroying the brick of ground they are on. Other Gadgebots will now fall through the hole. - Electrify: The Gadgebot's light will turn blue. If a Gadgebot is electrified when it touches a teleporter entrance, it will go through the teleporter. GADGEBOT TOSS: +---------------+ | Gadgebot Toss | +---------------+----+-------------------+ | Analog Stick/Nub | Move Clank | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Square" Button | Punch Enemy | +--------------------+-------------------+ | "Circle" Button | Pick Up/Throw | +--------------------+-------------------+ ------------------ Metalis (CCMT) ------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buzzsaw Blitz "Drive your razor into the opponents' vehicles to blow them up." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 1,000 Bolts Read above on how to control the buzzsaw. This one is pretty easy, just camp out around the health pickup and wait for enemies to come to you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHARGE! "Ram the opponents' vehicles to blow them up." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 2,000 Bolts Use your ram to damage your enemies. Just aim and press "square" to deal major damage. Use the speed boost that the ram gives to get to the health before your opponents do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electric Boogaloo "Drive your electic torso into the opponents' vehicles." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 3,000 Bolts The main thing to remember during this battle is that you can only attack from the front of your vehicle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Dayni Moon (CCDM) --------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Dayni "Ram the opponents' vehicles to blow them up." Type: Destruction Derby Reward: 1,000 Bolts There are two old enemies and one new enemy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================= Bosses (BSSS) ================= ---------------- Mungo (BSMN) ---------------- +--------------------+ | Boss Battle: Mungo | +-+--------------------+--------------------------------------------------+ | | | Mungo can be quite difficult if you don't know how to approach him. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ ------------------- Dropship (BSDO) ------------------- +-----------------------+ | Boss Battle: Dropship | +-+-----------------------+-----------------------------------------------+ | | | During this battle, there will be two Shock Troopers on the sides of | | the platform. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ --------------- Luna (BSLN) --------------- +-------------------+ | Boss Battle: Luna | +-+-------------------+---------------------------------------------------+ | | | In her first form, Luna will be in a crop duster firing at you. Wait | | until she appears behind you, then jump away from her fire. Eventually | | she will deploy a harvester. Ratchet will automatically run away from | | her, so all you need to do is jump over the rocks. | | | | Next, rocks will start to rain down on you. Watch for their shadow and | | run away from the larger shadows, as those rocks are closer to the | | ground. Look for the bullseyes of where they | | will land and avoid them. Be careful not to strafe into them. | | | | This fight may take you a few attempts if you don't have some great | | armour. Just keep trying. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ --------------- Otto (BSOT) --------------- +----------------------------+ | Boss Battle: Otto Destruct | +-+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | This boss battle will take you quite a while. | | | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ ================================ High Impact Treehouse (HGIP) ================================ In previous "Ratchet and Clank"s you could find something called the "Insomniac Museum," which was named after it's previous developer, Insomniac Games. In this museum you could find some features that were either taken out of the game, or were created, but never found their way into the game for various reasons, such as technical limitations or being unfun. The "High Impact Treehouse" is High Impact's version of this. In here you will find some concept art, an extra weapon, and an enemy that was intended for the game, but ultimately shelved. Next to every station there is a sign. These signs tell you more about the object and why it wasn't included in the game. In order to get into the "Treehouse," you can do one of two things. Either get every skill point in the game and activate the cheat "Climb The Tree House," or go to the area where you get the Metalis Titanium Bolt with your system clock set between 2:42 and 2:47 AM to find a teleporter. Some of the concept art includes Technomite designs, multiplayer skins, Clank Challenge vehicles, and some sketches by Japanese children about skins they would like to see in-game. The weapon was the "Turret Launcher". It was a glove that produced a turret when a pellet was thrown. There are no enemies for you to test it against, however. The reason it was ultimately shelved was that it was very similar to the "Bee Mine Glove," and since the Glove was further along in programming, they decided against the "Turret Launcher." The enemy here is another form of the Ratchet clones. It is similar to the large enemies that use "Concussion Cannons," but it would have used a wrench (as is evidenced by it's attack animation). The reason it was ultimately scrapped was that they had three Ratchet clones that used melee weapons already. Outside of the second floor is a bulldozer. This was used to simulate the sequence when you are being chased by Otto at the end of the game. It was created for the first build of the game, so it was never actually intended to be in the game, but rather to test some ideas. On the third floor, outside there is a grind lock for you to try your hand at. It's not that hard, (I got it on my first try) but it is by far one of the most fun grind locks in the game. Prehaps the largest item here however, is the the large TV in the middle of the first floor. This TV contains four new Clank Challenges, all of which are Gadgebot Survival. They are extremely hard. Think "Infinite Improbability," but much, much, much harder. I've provided ASCII art for them, but be sure to check in game to see what I mean. _ = Floor - = Floor | = Wall T = Teleporter Entrance E = Teleporter Exit oo = Spawn Point xx = House >>> or <<< = Directional Pads \ or / = Ropes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ^_________^ Type: Gadgebot Survival Reward: 10,000 Bolts Start: 9 Gadgebots Finish: 3 Gadgebots I have no idea how to solve this one, so if you can solve it, please send me a message on how to solve it. When your first one spawns, make him detonate at the above location that is marked with a "1". 2. Make the second, third, fourth, and fifth swing at the rope. 3. While making sure to continue making bots swing at rope, make the first bot in line detonate at "3". Bot 3 will drop down and enter the house. Make bot 4 bridge where bot 2 detonated. 4. Make bot 5 bridge where "4" is marked on the map. Bot 5 will drop down and enter the second house. 5. Make bot 7 bridge where "5" is on the map. 6. Make bot 8 bridge where "6" is on the map. 7. Bot 11 will drop down and enter the final house, netting you 10,000 bolts. I forgot to right down if there were 11 or 10 bots in this one. If there are 11, than that solution is right, if there are 10, please e-mail me and tell me so I can update the guide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================= Making Money (MKNM) ======================= Making money can be quite difficult if you don't know how. Of course, it's much easier in challenge mode, since you have the bolt multiplier. Here are some of my strategies on how to get bolts, if you have some feel free to send them to me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements: Must be able to go to Dayni Moon, Must have gotten the Titanium Bolt on Metalis and activated the teleporter. Start out on Dayni Moon. If you're in challenge mode, make sure your bolt multiplier is x11 or x12. Break all of the boxes around the ship for some easy money. Then, hop in your ship and head to Metalis. Use the teleporter near your ship to go to the area where you got the Titanium Bolt and break all of the boxes there. Repeat as desired. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements: Must be able to go to Dayni Moon, Must have gotten the Titanium Bolt on Metalis and activated the teleporter. Start out on Dayni Moon. Break all of the boxes around your ship and then head down the path near the Gadgetron vendor. Do everything up until you have to plant the bouncy plants. Instead, return to your ship. Next fly to Metalis and use the teleporter to access the Titanium bolt area. After that head over to Challax and enter the Technomite City. Go all the way through, yes, all the way. Continue this cycle to get tons of bolts and some good experience for your weapons. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements: Must be able to go to Dayni Moon. Thanks to Manttnz1 for this tip. Get up to Dayni Moon, get your multiplier to 12, break all the boxes around your ship, go to any other planet, immediately go back to Dayni Moon, repeat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ============================== Contact Information (CNAT) ============================== Did you find an error in my guide?
