After you load your game, you will need to choose a language. Do that. Little trailers, then titles come up. Then, choose "Get A Life". Build your very first Sim here. ---------------------- -The Sims Introduction ---------------------- You can use this mini type game to get to know the game, and your Sim. You can play on the various different items around the house also. Ignore the girl if she wants you to get in, but you do have to get in. Don't leave it too long. If you feel like exploring, go ahead. I would suggest trying: Vibrating Bed, Snooker Table, Pool, Hydro-Shower and maybe the Pinball. Hurry back after though, because if you don't then the girl will leave and the game is over. ------ Goals: ------ None here ------------ Unlockables: ------------ None here "Buy" and "Build" modes are disabled here. --------------- a - Money From Mom --------------- This level is quite easy, and can be quite fun, if you know what you're doing. Do all the things from collecting mail, building up your knowledge database, repairs and occasional sleeping. ------ Goals: ------ Borrow $800 from Mom This is quite easy. Just keep her happy, and keep asking her whenever she's in a good mood (do this by switching to mom and press R2) Repair TV Mom needs her shows! You can't buy a new TV, that won't work. When you're in a good mood, nip over to the bookcase and catch up on your mechanical skills. 1 Point is fine to repair the TV, but have a read whenever you can because those points are valuable in coming levels. Have a read whenever you can. Cook Dinner Without Starting A Fire Self explanatory, really. Just the same as above, go to the bookcase and read a cooking book. Press R1 to Fast Forward if you're getting bored. Maintain House Value Keep your house in good condition, maybe put a few things in. If the house value drops while you're living there, your mom will charge you the amount the value decreased in. Get a Job You can only do this after you've done all the above goals. After you've done them, grab the newspaper from outside, and have a look for a job. Pick one, then someone will pick you up. ------------ Unlockables: ------------ Aroma Machine: Unlocked when you cook your first meal. Vanity Table: Unlocked after you fix the television. Running Machine: Unlocked when you get your first job. The Museum: This bonus 2 player mission is unlocked when you borrow 800 simoleons from mom. Can be found in the Bonus section in "Get a Life" Beejaphone Electric Guitar: Unlocked if you get through the house in 24 hours or less. -------------- b -Reality Bites -------------- Well, you're finally getting somewhere. You're living in a bigger house, on your own. But the only catch is that the place is a mess, and the electrical appliances are broken. This is where those extra mechanical points come in. Cooking skills are also important here. ------ Goals: ------ Clean The Place Up As you would normally do to clean, get all the junk up from around the house. Don't forget the ash at the back of the house, it is easy to miss. Fix The Broken Stuff As I've said before, you can't just buy new stuff. Read the book to get at least 3 Mechanical Skill Points. Then, just repair the stuff. Upgrade Your Abode When You Go To Buy Mode Self explanatory. But in some fencing, do a tad of decorating, whatever it takes to get your house value up from $34,561 to $35,711. Get Promoted To Career Level 2 Go to work in a good mood, also check you skills menu, and any more skill points you need will be highlighted in yellow. You're gradually climbing the career ladder and working your way up the scale, or so to speak. Social elements are the main goals here, you must get promoted up two levels, throw a party and hopefully find a roommate via the party. I would suggest you work on your promotion before you throw your party and find your roommate. ------ Goals: ------ Throw a raging party Use the phone to call up some mates. Get the hot-tub going, get a beverage bar and call up for some pizza. Upgrade your abode when you go to buy mode Do what you can to get your house level from $53,180 to $54,680. Head In Curio Jar (?): Unlocked if you get through the house in eight days or fewer. ----------- d -Hot to Trot ----------- The ladder is nearly coming to an end! You're near the end of the game now, no doubt you'd have guessed that. Dudley/Mimi hates you now cause you moved out, and this level is all about opportunities. Building up all your skills here will be nice and useful. Nearly there now! ------ Goals: ------ Throw a raging party Self explanatory. Get some pizza, get the hot-tub going, and put on some tunes. You are having kids and getting married (if divorced). Some fun available to have though, concentrate on making babies here. ------ Goals: ------ Get married You will only have to do this is you have had a divorce.
