If you are playing the game on a different system, parts of the game may be different from what I have described. As far as I know the only difference between the Original Version 1.0 and the Greatest Hits Version 1.1 is that Version 1.1 had headset compatibility with the online game. The new features to this game compared to Tony Hawk Pro Skaters 3 on the PlayStation 2 are skitchin' (allows you grab the back of cars in career mode), Improved Flatland Tricks (easier to perform flatland tricks), the Walltap, Spine Transfer (allows you to spine transfer over spines to continue your score lines), better Double and Triple flip tricks (the flip tricks when double and triple pressed move faster than before) and the gap checklist is back (was in the PlayStation 1 version of THPS3 but not the PlayStation 2 version). Some new career mode features are C-O-M-B-O goals (collect all letters in one combo instead of seperate like S-K-A-T-E), competitions are now a normal goal in levels having you score the points within a specific area of the level. If you would like to donate some money to help pay for my college funds or if you just want to help me afford the games to write you a guide please donate some money to me through www.paypal.com at acstupak@yahoo.com Thank you for your support. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTENTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Career Mode ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this career mode you will start in the level without the two minute timer,as well as no list of objectives. When you want to take on a challenge (goal) you now have to skate up to a pedestrian with a coloured arrow above their head to start the goal. Each level has twenty-one objectives to complete with four different difficulty levels: Amateur already unlocked, Amateur still locked, Pro, and Pro Specific challenges. Pro challenges are unlocked after completing ninety Amateur challenges and one pro specific challenge. Pedestrians with blue arrows are with amateur goals. Red arrows are with the Pro goals. Lastly the gold arrows are the Pro Specific goals. You can pick any of the Pro Skaters at any time during career mode. Unlike Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 where everyone had seperate careers, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 is one solid career where everyone contributes. ******************************************************************************* 2.1 - College ******************************************************************************* 21 Goals 25 Cash Icons 3 Mini Games 40 Gaps /////////////////////////////// //High Score of 40,000 Points// /////////////////////////////// In front of and to the right of the kiosks $250 and a stat point Pro Set 3 and "Get a Pro Score of 75,000 Points" Use the handrails and concrete quarter pipes in the central plaza to get good practice on linking your tricks. Turn around and face the wooden spine behind Jamie and launch into the air. Do a couple tricks and then revert into a manual. Go towards the street and use the quarter pipe to do a trick. Land in a revert and immediatly nose manual up the ramp on the right and stall on top. Do a flat-land trick out of it and revert the landing for one more multiplier. ///////////////////// //Collect S-K-A-T-E// ///////////////////// Near the security office in the back left of the level $250 and a stat point S - Cross the street towards Woodland school and grind the blue handrail. Ollie off the rail and grab it above the door. K - Grind the rail in the corner near the parking garage and transfer from the raised gate to get the K. It is just like the Collect S-K-A-T-E goal only you have to collect all five letters in one large combo. First grind the silver rail that curves off to the left by the bridge and take it onto the wooden fence near the grass. Then ollie off the rail and gap the bridge opening to grind on the next one. Get the last letter and hop off to land it so it stays as one combo. ////////////////////////// //Race the inline Skater// ////////////////////////// Near the Philosophy building $250 and a stat point "Medal the High-Combo Competition" You must luge through 15 gates. The red arrow will show the way. All you can do is steer left and right and by pressing X you can hop. You can hold X to get to your top speed to help break your records. Start by heading down the roll-in and through your first gate. Now go down the middle of the stairs and out to the street. Head back in to the park at the next entrance going through another gate. Either hop up the steps or quickly swerve around them to head through the middle of the kiosks and get two more gates. Head up and over the bridge for another gate, then take a left towards the security office hitting three more gates. Once you hit the road turn left and start to slolam through the gates towards the parking garage. ///////////////////////////////// //Nail the tricks they yell out// ///////////////////////////////// In front of Woodland School $250 and a stat point Pro Set 4 and "Nail a 360 Varial McTwist" You have to perform and complete 19 tricks to pass it. You should use the given quarter pipes and spines to help you perform them fast and efficiently. You can have up to 14 tricks in the window at one time however once the 15th trick appears you will lose the goal. Just quickly complete each trick called out to get through it. To make it a little easier, you can place as many tricks as you can in one combo to knock multiple tricks off the list. /////////////////////////////// //Get back at the 5 Frat boys// /////////////////////////////// On the steps in front of the stadium $250 and a stat point "Clock 5 jocks in one combo" 1. You will have to complete a total of 16 flip tricks. You are allowed to grind the EMB ledge and then ollie off in to a manual and perform the tricks on flatground if you would like to do so, just remember to start off or end with the EMB ledge. ========================= =Pro-Specific Challenges= ========================= Chad Muska (Trick out the Beatz) - The easiest way I found to do this challenge was to just skate around and get large combos. You need to get high multipliers as well to make the number below te timer raise to 1000 eight times. This should easily be done if you can do good combos. Kareem Cambell (Roof Gap Challenge) - You will need to first ollie across the building while doing the tricks that are at the bottom of the screen. This will last for about one minute. Then it will switch to combos. All you have to do is do the first trick in the group and land in a manual. Then ollie across the gap while performing the second trick, then land it. Then for the last thirty seconds you need to perform a five trick combo. You can do the first four then land in a manual and ollie over the gap while doing the last trick to make it a little easier. Andrew Reynolds (Drop the Hammer) - You start off having to grind a low sign and ollieing off a ramp to gap the water. Then they bring you back and have you do it again but with a double kickflip, and after that a triple heelflip. After you have acheived this you will be moved to a new location. Move forward to go up and get some speed when you turn around. Use the ramp to launch over the walkway. Then do it again with a double kickflip, and once more with a triple heelflip. After you complete that you will be moved yet again. This time in front of the fountain. You need to grind the two low signs to gain speed and launch yourself aiming at the part that has the metal sticking out for a hole to land through. You will then have to do the same routine with a double kickflip followed by a triple heelflip. Then you will be placed on a walkway. Grind te railing and then go to the blue rail to gain speed. Then launch off the ramp and land in the bowl. Do this two more times, once with a double kickflip and then a triple heelflip. Then you will be placed on the roof of pier 18 for your last set of this Challenge. You need to ollie over the roof gap that Cambell did, grind short on the long rail for some quick speed and launch off the ramp and get across the road. Then perform the good old double kickflip and triple heelflip. ============================================================== =THESE ARE LOCKED UNTIL YOU COMPLETE A PRO-SPECIFIC CHALLENGE= ============================================================== Get a Score of 300,000 - Talk to Cambell near the Slam Brothers Warehouses. Go behind the Slam Brothers Warehouse and use the cement rails to create a robot line with the quarter pipes. Continue busting out the tricks to get the score. Collect Pro C-O-M-B-O - Talk to the skater kid near the Slam Brothers Warehouses. Then skate over to the concrete planter and launch into the air and land in a grind on the right hand side of the bus stop roof to get the C. Quickly ollie over and into a grind on the wires over to the side to get the O. Then right when you get this one get over to the other side and get the M. Then ollie off the wire into a manual and launc up the ramp on the right side to get the B. Revert when landing and manual over to the warehouse over by the water and grind the ramp like wall to snatch the last O. Manual the pad in both directions - Talk to Eric Koston behind pier 18 and next to the pipes. (if you've ever played "ONLINE" you would see people using this area as a robot line) Start off by going towards the pad in the direction of the quarter pipes at the water's edge. Ollie into a manual onto the pad at the very beginning. You need to make sure you get the gap called "Pad manual west" and then ollie off the pad and land in a manual. Take the quarter pipe up and back down. Land using the revert and get into a manual. go across the pad again, going the opposite direction, getting the "heading back" gap. Then get to the end of the pad to get the "Pad manualing east" gap. Land the manual and it will be checked off the list. Do the Spine transfer-transfer - Talk to Chad Muska on the upper balcony of the plaza. You have six seconds to get down the balcony using the quarter pipe in front of you and gain speed. Then down below you will see a new wooden spine set up. Go up it at an angle and going towards the grass. Then hit the spine transfer button when you reach the edge of the coping on the first ramp. If you do it right then you're skater will do a spine transfer in mid-air and land on the other spine ramp also on the opposite side. Grind the blockers off the ledges - (first it may be easier if you turn off the ProSet 1 ramps to reach a part of the objective) If you have skated around long enough in this level looking at things you will have noticed a little red fire alarm under the stone stair case. Use that to distract the guard. Then quickly skate around to the ramp near the street. Skate up it and grind one of the large stone railings to knock off the blockers. Then go back down the other side. If the cop appears back at the bottom. Quickly jump off and set off the alarm again and clear off the remaining ones. ============================== =Side Games for San Francisco= ============================== ************************** *Save the seals Mini Game* ************************** Skate over to where the back entrance to the House of Crabs is, also where the last two wooden pier signs are.
