ABBREVIATIONS: MT = Moogle Throw MH = Moogle Hunt AMH = Advanced Moogle Hunt ROG = Ruby of Grief *~*CAUTION!!!*~* THERE MAY BE SPOILERS IN THIS GUIDE. ESPECIALLY FRAGMENTS THAT REQUIRE YOU TO BEAT THE GAME AND HAVE THE PARADOX SCOPE FRAGMENT SKILL. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. _________________________________________ 2. Fragment Guide -------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1. - New Bodhum -003 AF- - -------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1.1. - Gogmagog Fragment Alpha Prerequisites: None Obtained through normal playthrough upon victory of your first fight with Gogmagog. 2.1.2. - Gogmagog Fragment Beta Prereqs: None Obtained through normal playthrough upon victory of your second fight with Gogmagog. 2.1.3. - Heart Prism Prereqs: Beat Gogmagog the first time After beating Gogmagog for the first time, talk to Nell in the northeast section of town. She'll be sitting on the beach and asks you to get her Medical Kit. It can be found in a treasure box (not sphere) in the northwest section of the map known as Winding Way. Bring it back and she gives you the fragment. Reward: 50 CP 2.1.4. - Graviton Core Alpha Prereqs: Moogle Hunt Ability (Henceforth known as MH), Giant's Artefact This fragment is located in the Tidal Shallows area of the map, There is a small raised metal hatch about mid-way through on the west side of this strip of land. Look carefully, as it's invisible, but Mog should help you find it. Use Moogle Hunt, and presto change-o, there's the graviton core. Reward: 500 CP ------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.2. - New Bodhum -700 AF- - ------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.2.1. - Cartesian Board Prereqs:Moogle Throw (now known as MT), Advanced Moogle Hunt (henceforth known as AMH) Right after you're able to use the AMH, the game pretty much tells you to go check out the area for stuff, so do it. This one is found on a small spit of land as far east as you can go here. Use AMH, toss Mog over there, and he'll pick it up for you. What a nice guy. Reward: 600 CP 2.2.2. - Laplacian Board Prereqs: MT, AMH This can be found in the southwest part of the Town Square. As before, use AMH then MT, and you'll be one fragment happier. Reward: 600 CP 2.2.3. - Hope's Message Prereqs: AMH This is in a treasure box almost in the center of the Town Square - a little west actually, opening this will give you the fragment, a Supply Sphere Access Code, and a short cutscene. Reward: 600 CP, Supply Sphere Access Code 2.2.4. - Noel's Message Prereqs: Paradox Scope Fragment Skill (see Paradox Scope) Come back here with the Paradox Scope activated and it will be at the far west point of the map. Reward: 600 CP 2.2.5. - Serah's Message Prereqs: Paradox Scope Fragment Skill (see Paradox Scope) Come here with Paradox Scope activated, and it will be in the Beachfront part of the map on the southern coast. Reward: 600 CP -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.3. - New Bodhum -Year Unknown- - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.3.1. - Vanille's Fruit Prereqs: None Travel to the Meteorite Impact Site area, and this one will be in a treasure box north and just slightly east of the center. Reward: 600 CP 2.3.2. - Fang's Crown Prereqs: None Again, in the Meteorite Impact Site, this one is south and east of the center in a treasure box. 2.3.3. - Transcript: Fate and Freedom Prereqs: None This also happens to be one of the Paradox Endings. Be sure not to skip the cutscene when talking to Lightning, as you may miss this one. When the Live Trigger comes up, answer "Yes", then sit back and watch a cutscene. Reward: 1,500 CP ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.4. - New Bodhum -??? AF- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.4.1. - Transcript: Beneath a Timeless Sky Prereqs: Paradox Scope Fragment Skill (see Paradox Scope), 'Promises' Gate Seal Ok, here's where things get a little weird. Technically, you get this fragment after going to this location, but you need to unlock this location through a different location. So bear with me.Travel to Academia 4XX AF. Do the main storyline and keep playing until you get to The Void Beyond. Turn on the Scope and fight Caius with Serah by herself. This is a much harder fight than before, but if you do beat him, you unlock New Bodhum ??? AF and after you travel there and watch the cinematic, you'll get this Paradox Ending fragment. Reward: 10,000 CP ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.5. - Bresha Ruins -005 AF- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.5.1. - Atlas Fragment Prereqs: None After you gain access to the control system and weaken Atlas, fight him, kill him, and this fragment is yours. Reward: 2500 CP, 600 Gil (both on defeat of Atlas) 2.5.2. - Ghast Fragment Prereqs: None In pretty much the center of the map, in the area titled Echoes of the Past (which pretty takes up much of this map), you'll see a gate with all kinds of soldiers around. Talk with Chester, and he'll tell to you about a Cie'th wandering the area and asks you to kill it. Ghast can be found in the tunnels in the most northwest point in the map (still in Echoes of the Past). Walk around here, and Ghast should appear. Trust me, you'll know its him, as he's the only Cie'th in the area, and the game will pause and say "Target Located". Kill him. Reward: 600 CP 2.5.3. - Delicate Crystal Prereqs: none When you're going to defeat Atlas for the 2nd time, take the option to try and find a way to weaken him. When you find the control device, a Temporal Rift appears with a Tile Trial. Finish this, it's as simple as that. Reward: 200 CP 2.5.4. - Vita Lyrica Prereqs: MT, MH Ok, slightly more complicated here, but only slightly. To first get to the area you need to be in, you need to use MT. In the area of the map known as Excavation Site, you should have noticed the giant gaping hole in the center of the area. What you may have not noticed, is the treasure sphere located in it. If you climb the steps near the gate though, there is a catwalk that gives you a prime spot to throw Mog down in there to grab it. Or another option, is to grab a chocobo, walk up that same catwalk, and jump off. Your chocobo can navigate the area with a few hops and you should be able to grab it. ANYWAY, after obtaining the Holding Cell Key, go back to the cell you were held in at the start of this level (NW of this area) and you'll be able to unlock the other cell door in there. NOW we can do the part that actually gets you this fragment. Talk to the soldier that you should've passed coming in, named Morris. Then, go into this new area, travel along the tunnels until you come to a T in the road. Take the right, which is a short path, and there will be an out-of-phase treasure box containing an Army Comm Device. Take this to Morris and he gives you the fragment. Reward: 200 CP 2.5.5. - Anima Miseria Prereqs: Defeat Atlas; obtain Unio Mystica, Ars Symphonica, & Ghast fragments; unlock Bresha Ruins 300 AF In the area known as Lamentable Rest, there is a man standing over a grave, his name is Jed. He asks you to grab a flower that only grows in the snow. Seeing as there is no snow here, he thinks he's s.o.l. But you have a secret! Travel to Bresha Ruins 300 AF, where it is, indeed, snowing... or has snowed, or frosty...ish... Anyway, travel back to that same graveyard area, and you should find the Silver Petal without too much trouble. Bring it back and he's amazed... oh, and gives you a fragment. Reward: 200 CP 2.5.6. - Unio Mystica Prereqs: MH In the center of the map, you'll see that big open square where there's a gate and Chocolina and a few soldiers. One of the soldiers gave you the Ghast fragment quest, another, namely, the Captain, wants you to find some drugs. Medical drugs, that is. The first one is a short walk west of your current position, right where the road splits and you can take the tunnels or the other way, head toward the left path, but don't even go down the path, because there is an out-of-phase sphere. MH it, and you should get a Capsule. Now, turn around and take the right path leading to the tunnels. As you round the bend, you'll see a path to your left that leads to some rather impractically large steps. Luckily, Serah and Noel are good jumpers. Hop on down, and at the bottom, there will be another treasure sphere. Crack it open, return them to the Cap, and do a little jig. Or not. Reward: 100 CP 2.5.7. - Ars Symphonia Prereqs: MH, Defeat Atlas, obtain Unio Mystica & Ghast fragments Ok, so in the Excavation Site, there's a girl wandering the area (usually in the north area... usually.) named Cordelia. Talk to her, she can't get to her notes. What? Of course you'll help, it's not like you have to save the world or the entire timeline or anything. Anyway, go west into that little control center room, MH a box there, take it back. Turns out, you took her future notes to her. Good job on saving her some work. Reward: 100 CP 2.5.8. - Graviton Core Beta Prereqs: MH, Defeat Atlas, ability to ride a Chocobo Unless you have this place mapped out 100%, you may have noticed a few areas unexplored, only one of them can be reached in this time period. when, you first enter the Echoes of the Past area from the Excavation Site, you'll notice an area by the stone steps there. Using a chocobo and starting near the top of the steps, you can jump and fly onto that little spit of land. The core is in the north part of this area, and needs to be revealed with MH. Grab the treasure sphere here too, if you haven't already, it holds 8 Power Droplets. Reward: 500 CP ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.6. - Bresha Ruins -100 AF- - ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.6.1. - Kalavinka Fragment Prereqs: Obtain Adamantite Ring fragment This is pretty straightforward. After finishing the adamantite ring sidequest. Talk to Porter right after finishing the Temporal Rift to start this side quest. Giant monster appears, find it and kill it. The game even gives you a waypoint on your map to go to. Kill it, and you get the fragment. Reward: 4,500 CP, Toilet Paper Coupon 2.6.2. - Ruthenium Ring Prereqs: None Talk to Walter. He's in the southeast of the map, at the entrance to a location previously unavailable in other times. He asks you to calm down some meanie. Talk to said person, who is right there, so you can't even get lost. Then say the following: "Are you the famous Raymond?"; "That's an extraordinary weapon!"; and finally, "I'd love for you to teach me how to fight!". Presto. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.6.3. - Rhodium Ring Prereqs: Obtain Palladium Ring, Osmium Ring, and Ruthenium Ring fragments. Talk to a man named Ronan standing by the gravestone in the Lamentable Rest area. Travel to Bresha Ruins -300 AF-. At the same grave, there's a Carbuncle stuffed figure. Examine it, and you receive the Old Device item. Take this back to the man in 100 AF and you're done. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.6.4. - Palladium Ring Prereqs: AMH Talk to Pat, who is just a short walk west from the graveyard area (Lamentable Rest). Continue west and take the northern tunnel to find a treasure box that requires AMH. Use it, open it, return it. Voila. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.6.5. - Osmium Ring Prereqs: AMH In the southwest part of the map, right before you head into the tunnels there will be a chocobo and a professor. Speak to this professor, and he'll ask you to find his assistant for a monster analysis report. Travel through the tunnels until you come to the southeasternmost point in the tunnels. You'll see a silhouette the requires AMH. Use, talk, obtain, return. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.6.6. - Adamantite Ring Prereqs: Obtain the Rhodium Ring fragment, Yaschas Massif 100 AF, 110 AF, & Bresha Ruins 300 AF, MH Go to the area where the Atlas control machine is, talk to the man there. Now you have to find 2 passwords. One he gives you a general idea, the other, he has no clue. How helpful. Well, that's why I'm here. So, for Control Device Password 1 (which is also a fragment), go to Yaschas Massif 100 AF, go to the command center, and there should be a girl there named Uma. She gives you Thorne's Information. Now, travel to Yaschas Massif 110 AF, go south from the dig site/ruins and when you see the chocobo, continue south until you find the out of sync guy down here. Hes labeled "???" when you MH him. Talk to him, he has amnesia. Tell him his name is Thorne. He remembers everything, and gives you the password. Wow, if it was only that easy in real life. Now for Control Device Password 2. Go to Bresha Ruins 300 AF and go to the room with the Atlas control device. Talk to the government jerk there and then you'll have to do a temporal rift. Finish this, and you have the passwords (and two more fragments!). Now, head back to Bresha Ruins 100 AF, talk to Porter again, and he gives you the fragment. Reward: CDP1: 300 CP; CDP2: 400 CP, Ad. ring: 1,000 CP ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.7. - Bresha Ruins -300 AF- - ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.7.1. - Control Device Password 2 Prereqs: Started the Adamantite Ring side quest For info how to obtain this... scroll up about a paragraph. Reward: 400 CP 2.7.2. - Iridium Ring Prereqs: MH Head to the Lamentable Rest area (the graveyard) and you should see a silhouette of a man. MH him, and he asks you to talk to his buddy. Travel down into the southern tunnels, and you should find him pretty quickly. Now you have to tell some jokes. Say, "A job as a shoe salesman would be your best fit", "Need an ark? I Noah guy", "Salt merchants are movers and shakers". (GROAN). He laughs hysterically and gives you "My Buddy's Message". Go back to the graveyard and talk to Lex again, and he promptly disappears, but not before giving you the fragment. Make sure to grab the Wild Fragment that appears when he goes. Reward: 400 CP 2.7.3. - Platinum Ring Prereqs: MH Just north of the gate you arrive in, talk to Jonah. Then, head to the northwest corner of the map and by the chocobo, use MH to get the Recording Device. Take it back. Reward: 400 CP 2.7.4. - Mythril Ring Prereqs: None Head down into the southern tunnels, and find Thurston. He wants to blow up Bresha Ruins. He was you to talk to Commander. He's usually found in the south-eastern part of the map, but he wanders, so keep an eye out. Talk to him, get his report, then take it back. Reward: 400 CP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.8. - Yaschas Massif -010 AF- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.8.1. - Aloeidai Fragment Prereqs: None Obtained through the course of the storyline. Obtained on defeat of Aloeidai Reward: 3,500 CP 2.8.2. - Pathos Jewel Prereqs: MT, MH After you're done talking with Hope and whatnot, travel to the western part of them map, with the ramps leading up to the statue thing. Stand next to the railing as close as you can to the statue and use MH. Then MT to obtain. Reward: 300 CP 2.8.3. - Misery's Bead Prereqs: Finish talking to Hope and have him give you the artefact. At the ramps leading down into/up out of the ruins, you'll see Chocolina, and just south of her is Brenda, who needs a Behemoth Fang, which can be obtained when you kill a Feral Behemoth. Head into the map where the spotlights shine and walk around in the dark til you find one. Kill it, and you'll automatically receive the fang. Take it back, and she's stunned. Reward: 300 CP 2.8.4. - Amur's Sphere Prereqs: Finish talking to Hope, get the artefact, and have access to Yaschas Massif 01X AF Find Cole. He's usually in the ruins, at the bottom of the ramp leading to/from Hope's command center. Then go to Yaschas Massif 01X AF, and head south from the chocobo there in the square to see a few boxes stacked up. Grab it and head back to return it. Reward: 300 CP 2.8.5. - Innocence's Sacred Sphere Prereqs: Grab the artefact from Hope, have access to Yaschas Massif 110 AF, MT Talk to Shannon, who is usually found around the ramps leading to the giant statue. Now, go to Yaschas Massif 110 AF, and head to the northwest part of the map known as the Pass of Paddra. You should come to a cliff-ish area and if you look out there, you can see the sphere. Toss Mog out there and grab the watch, and return it. Reward: 300 CP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.9. - Yaschas Massif -01X AF- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.9.1. - Gorgyra Fragment Prereqs: Complete the storyline conversations with Hope. Talk to Duncan, who's usually found in the ruins by the ramp leading to Hope's command center. He tells you about a Cie'th that you need to kill. Once you do, (its not easy), you get the fragment. She can be found in the very southwesternmost point in the map. Reward: 500 CP 2.9.2. - Orb of Clotho Prereqs: Finish talking with Hope. Talk to Marlow in the square, he should be wandering around the pillars. He wants the Stone Tablet, which is in Yaschas Massif 010 AF, so if you don't already have it, head there. It can be found in the western part of the Pass of Paddra, where there are three kind of open spaces on your map, not lakes, cuz they're not water, but just gouges in the earth you can't get into? Yeah there. Around the southeast side of the longest of the three, you should find it. Return it, etc. Reward: 300 CP 2.9.3. - Sword of Lachesis Prereqs: Finish talking with Hope. At least 1 Gyashl Greens. You may or may not have noticed the raised area the Pass of Paddra that can only be reached via chocobo. Well, jump up there, and talk to Bridget there. The flower she wants is in this exact same area in Yaschas Massif 010 AF. Pick it up, return it, etc. Reward: 300 CP 2.9.4. - Mirror of Atropos Prereqs: MT, MH, Finish talking to Hope Allright, talk to Lester in the square in the ruins. He wants three fallen stars. Great. MH the out-of-sync box there for a service manual, and then head to where the chocobo is in this map. You need to get to that raised platform area in the Pass of Paddra that can only be reached by chocobo. Unfortunately, the only chocobos you can ride are Rambunctious and eat gyashl greens as you ride them, so you gotta be quick, and dismount as soon as you arrive at the platform to avoid getting booted off the platform. Speak to Tipur twice, kill the Goblins, etc, etc. Reward: 300 CP 2.20.3. - Fragment of Invincibility Prereqs: Defeat all three Gigantuars in the Steppe. After defeating the Gigantuars, talk to the hunter right outside the chocobo pen if you havent already. If this is your first time, you will need to travel to the Historia Crux and back real quick to activate Myta's speech bubble request thing. Myrta is at the bottom of the steps leading up to the weather control device. Talk to her, and she'll tell you to kill a beast named Immortal. Change the weather to cloudy (both levers up), and a waypoint should appear on your map. Travel there, and you'll have no trouble spotting him, though you may have trouble beating him. Reward: 30,000 CP 2.20.4. - Ochu Fragment Prereqs: Defeat all three Gigantuars in the Steppe Same as for the previous fragment, you have to have talked to the hunter outsid the chocobo pen after defeating the gigantuars, and then hop to the Historia Crux and back to activate Tipur's request. Talk to Tipur, and he asks you to kill a beast named Ochu. Change the weather to rainy (left lever up, right lever down) and then travel to the waypoint. Again, being a Steppe Boss, he isn't hard to spot once you're in his vicinity. If you have a fairly advanced party though, he is possibly the easiest of the bosses. Reward: 30,000 CP 2.20.5. - Long Gui Fragment Prereqs: Finish storyline objectives for the Archylte Steppe Change the weather to sunny (both levers down), and you should at once see this massive creature. But you know what they say about things being big and falling... or something. Anyway, walk up to him, fight him, kill him, be done with it. Watch out for Ultima. Reward: 30,000 CP 2.20.6. - Yomi Fragment Prereqs: Obtain the Ochu fragment, and go to the Historia Crux and come back; 1 gyashl greens Talk to Tipur and he'll talk to you about the fearsome beast Yomi. Change the weather to stormy (left lever down, right lever up), and ride a chocobo out to the waypoint. Use the chocobo to jump and fly over to the platform you need to be on, and Yomi will automatically come down to fight you. As far as size goes, he's the smallest of the bosses, but you know what they say about size not mattering or judging books by covers, etc, etc. He's tough. Fast, strong attacks, and debuffs you and buffs himself. P.I.T.A. Kill him, and the cp alone is worth it. Reward: 30,000 CP 2.20.7. - Woolly Stone Prereqs: Obtain the Goblin fragment Talk to Myta, and she wants wool from three different sheep. The three packs of sheep roam the area immediately outside the nomad camp. They are headed by one big sheep each, and only the big one can give you the wool, so start tapping A (X for PS users) when you see him, and after you collect all three, return to Myta for this fragment. Reward: 300 CP 2.20.8. - Crimson Crystal Prereqs: None This one is located on the Plains of Eternity directly south of the nomad camp. You have to interact with it and teleport back to obtain the fragment. Reward: 200 CP 2.20.9. - Azure Crystal Prereqs: MH This one is located at the Grave Ridge area, near the east side of the map near a large formation that looks eerily like a giant cactuar. Use MH and use it to get the fragment. Reward: 200 CP 2.20.10. - Forest Crystal Prereqs: MH, Cloudy weather Head down to Grave Ridge again, and in the south of the area, you should see a little whirlwind which is marking the location of the hidden waystone. Use it, it takes you to the Clearwater Marshes and gives you the fragment. Reard: 200 CP 2.20.11. - Amber Crystal Prereqs: MH In the Clearwater Marshes you should see the cactuar waystone outline pretty easily while exploring the western area. MH it and use it. Reward: 200 CP 2.20.12. - Violet Crystal Prereqs: MH, Stormy Weather In the Clearwater Marshes, find the waystone again in the west half of the map. MH, use, ???, profit. Go there, watch the cinematic, and get the fragment and another Paradox Ending. Reward: 10,000 CP ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.22. - Serendipity -Year Unknown- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.22.1. - Chaos Crystal Prereqs: None, but made easier with the Bargain Hunter fragment skill (obtained after completion of Chapter 5) Buy this crystal from a casino vendor for 10,000 casino coins (100,000 gil), or 7,500 (75,000) if you have the Bargain Hunter skill active. Reward: 500 CP 2.22.2. - Setzer's Dice Prereqs: None, but made easier with the Bargain Hunter fragment skill (obtained after completion of Chapter 5) Also bought from a casino vendor for 10,000 coins, or 7,500 with Bargain Hunter. Reward: 1,500 CP 2.22.3. - Chocochick Down Prereqs: None When you walk into the chocobo racing building, immediately turn left and on that west wall, if you look very closely (or just wander until you see the interact prompt), you should see a tiny chocochick. Interact with it, and its yours.... the fragment, not the baby chocobo. Reward: 500 CP 2.22.4. - Lucky Coin Prereqs: None Obtained by amassing a total of 7,777 coins in winnings at the slot machines. Make sure you pay attention to the "moods" that the slot machine has. The phrase you're looking for that will increase the odds of winning the most is "its like a hot summers day!". And also, while auto play is nice and convenient if you rubber band the trigger down, manual play gives slightly better odds of winning. Slightly. My advice, take a lot of coins on your first trip. Its just easier that way. Also, its not a 7,777 profit, you just need to have won that much. so if you hit the 3 mogs in a row 1334 times, you'll get this fragment. And there's no mistaking when you got it, because the screen goes black and there's a dialog between Serah and Noel and the fragment pops. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.22.5. - Priceless Gift Prereqs: None, but made easier with the Bargain Hunter fragment skill (obtained after completion of Chapter 5) Yet again bought from a casino vendor, but this time for 9,800 coins (98,000 gil) or 7,350 coins (73,500 gil) with Bargain Hunter. Buy the item "Just 1 gil!". This could be a pain for anyone, because sometimes there's only a sliver of land you're missing, and you may miss it on your map. If that's the case, your only hope is to just explore every nook and cranny and crevice and niche until you finally see the 100% on your map screen. Also, you need to fully explore the other times for each region too, because there are sometimes areas you can only reach in those periods. So, this is best left until the end of the game when you have access to all locations and time periods. Talk to Miss Horizon in the Alley (she's standing close to Chocolina) and come back after you've explored each region. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.23.3. - Travel Guide: New Bodhum Fully explore New Bodhum 003 AF and 700 AF. If you don't have 100% on 003 AF, make sure to try on the NORA front porch. There are two areas that are easy to miss there. Reward: 100 CP 2.23.4. - Travel Guide: Bresha Ruins Fully explore Bresha Ruins 005, 100 AF, and 300 AF. If you're missing a bit on 005 AF, make sure to check the raised platform at the very south of the map, and also the area you can only reach via chocobo near the stone steps heading toward the first wild gate. Reward: 150 CP 2.23.5. - Travel Guide: Yaschas Massif Fully explore Yaschas Massif. This can be done relatively quickly by exploring 100 & 110 AF. Reward: 200 CP 2.23.6. - Travel Guide: Oerba Fully explore Oerba. This can be done very quickly by simply exploring the 400 AF location Reward: 200 CP 2.23.7. - Travel Guide: Sunleth Waterscape Fully explore Sunleth Waterscape. You can 100% this map after you finish the fight with Mutantomato in 300 AF. Reward: 200 CP 2.23.8. - Travel Guide: Academia Fully explore Academia. A pain because of its many nooks and crannies. And in the case of 500 AF, its random floating platforms. 100% 4XX and 500 AF to get this. Reward: 400 CP 2.23.9. - Travel Guide: Augusta Tower Fully explore Augusta Tower 200 and 300 AF. Don't forget to go to the bottom 13th floor of 300 AF after you obtain its key card in 200 AF. Reward: 400 CP 2.23.10. - Travel Guide: Vile Peaks Fully explore Vile Peaks, which is only possible in the 010 AF map. Reward: 500 CP 2.23.11. - Travel Guide: Archylte Steppe Fully explore the Archylte Steppe. Some easy areas to miss are nooks and crannies in the nomad camp, especially around the building that houses the weather control device; and also the little spit of land that's in the Grave Ridge which can only be reached by flying on a chocobo (where you fight Yomi). Reward: 200 CP 2.23.12. - Travel Guide: A Dying World Fully explore A Dying World. You can only do this after you complete the main storyline objectives, and then returning here via the Historia Crux. This is a pain, because its a huge area. Common area to miss is some land by the oracle drive, but really you shouldn't miss anything if you just pay attention to your map. Reward: 600 CP 2.23.13. - Graviton Core Delta Prereqs: Defeat Zenobia, MH After Zenobia, look on your map for Chocolina, and there is a ramp just north of her leading to this core. Unfortunately, the ramp is moving in the wrong direction for you, with no panel to change the direction, so your only hope is to just repeatedly jump while moving forward to finally reach it. Then you need to hit LB/L1 to bring Mog to you, because he apparently can't just fly. Reward: 500 CP --------------------------------------------------------------- 2.24. - Academia -4XX AF- - --------------------------------------------------------------- 2.24.1. - Academic Rank: Monster Professor Prereqs: Beat the game at least once. Talk to Dr. M in the entrance to the academy, he should be roaming around the reception desk area. Now, your task is a daunting one. You must fight AND kill one of every monster, including multiple forms of some bosses. You do NOT need full info on any of the monsters, so don't worry about using librascopes or fighting them repeatedly, just kill them once and you'll be fine. Use a bestiary guide to find any monsters you may be missing, because that's way too much to fit in here. Just know, that all bosses you have to fight for Paradox Endings are in this count, including about 8 versions of Caius, about 3 versions of Proto Fal'Cie Adam, and the Giant Cactuar, which actually can't be found in the wild. You have to find a normal Cactuar and let it turn into one. Those are some of the tricky ones. Bestiaries are becoming quite popular, so you should have no problem. Come back to him when you find them all and he rewards you. Reward: 1,000 CP 2.24.2. - Quiz Rank: Private Prereqs: MH for all 5 quiz ranks Find Captain Cryptic, who is first at the entrance to the academy, just south of the quiz terminal. MH him, and answer his question and he'll disappear. After this, his position is randomized throughout all of this map. NPCs can give hints as to where he is, if they say he's to the west, he's in New Town, if they say east, he's in the Grand Avenue, and obviously if they say the alley, thats where he's at. Theres only 3 locations where he can appear in New Town, 7 in Grand Avenue, and 1 in the Alley, so check Grand Avenue first, unless an NPC directs you somewhere else. Also, Mog does not react to Cryptic at all, so you have to use your eyes carefully.
