The Final Word ****************************************************************************** 1. INTRODUCTION ****************************************************************************** Hello, everyone! Welcome to my FAQ/Walkthough for LEGO Indiana Jones 2 for the Sony Playstation 3! In this guide, you'll find the means to explore the vast world of this game, as well as help navigating the new and updated interface. Join famous adventurer Indiana Jones as we relive his three greatest adventures and that other one! ****************************************************************************** 2. FAQ ****************************************************************************** Q: What is LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues? A: This is a LEGO-styled action game released in 2009 based around all four movies of the Indiana Jones series. Q: What is the ESRB rating of this game? A: This game is rated E10+, with the added descriptor of Cartoon Violence. Q: Would this game be good for my kids? I remember there being a lot of objective content in the movies. A: All violence is done towards LEGO bricks, so there's no blood, and all "dismemberment" is taken in a humorous stride. Any references to religions or the Nazi regime has been removed (the bad guys are just "enemy soldiers", although all named characters keep their names, including Dietrich and Vogel). As far as positive aspects of the game towards kids, the gameplay is focused on exploration, discovery, and critical thinking. The co-operative gameplay style and forgiving difficulty is also a plus. Q: How many people can play? Can I play online with others/ A: Two, and no. Q: All right. What's changed from the first one? Is it just the first game with tacked on Crystal Skull levels? A: Actually, this game is VERY different from the original LEGO Indy. There are no levels from the original. Everything is retooled from the ground up. I go into rather exhaustive detail about it in Section 4. Q: W... wait. All your other LEGO FAQs have been for Wii. Why suddenly change systems? A: Trophies, mostly. I've been getting e-mails asking about how to get trophies/achievements, and playing on this system will allow me to access and report on them. Don't worry. It's not a commentary on what system I support. ****************************************************************************** 3. BASICS ****************************************************************************** ============== 3A. Controls = ============== General Controls - Control Stick: Move your character. X Button: Jump. Some characters can double jump if you press A again. Square Button: Attack. Circle Button: Use item in hand or interact with environment. Used for building piles of LEGOs, pulling switches, or picking up items. Triangle Button: Shift focus to another character. Start Button: Brings up Pause Menu. Controls can slightly change depending on your situation. If something specific changes per a mission, I'll mention it in the walkthrough. ==================== 3B. Menus/Displays = ==================== Main Menu - New Game: Start a new game. Load Game: Load a previously saved game. Options: Opens Options Menu. --- Options Menu - Music: Toggle music on/off. Audio Volume: Adjust the volume of the audio. Brightness: Adjust the screen's brightness Screen V-Sync: Adjusts V-Sync, whatever that is. Motion Blur: With this on, movement will result in a motion blur. --- Pause Menu - Resume: Get back to the game. Options: Opens Options Menu. Extras: Opens Extras menu, where you can select any extras you've purchased, as well as toggle the Adaptive Difficulty. Exit: Return to the Hub or Warehouse depending on where you are. =========== 3C. Items = =========== Items are basically things your character can carry around that are not bolted to the floor. Many characters come with their own items. Other times you'll find items on the ground. Pick them up using Circle. Depending on the item, use it either with Circle or Square. Happily, you can carry more than one item in this game. Cycle through the items your character is carrying using the Circle button. I believe you can carry a maximum of three items on one character, but there aren't too many points in the game to actually test those limits, so it shouldn't be a problem. Targeting is a new feature in this release as well. Whereas the last game relied on a somewhat shaky auto-targeting, now holding down Square will bring up a targeting reticule, which has hotspots on viable targets (for instance, an enemy for a bar stool). Release Square while over that target to throw, shoot, or whatever your item in that direction. Whip - A long leather strand that was originally used to cause minor amounts of superficial pain in work animals (or people) to get them to move faster. Dr. Jones has apparently modified it to serve as a grappling hook, tie-up device, and whirling dervish of death. So, unlike the first game, the whip is actually a proper item that Indy needs to select. If you simply tap Square repeatedly, you'll spin it around your head, making it actually rather useful as a room clearer. With targeting, you can use the whip for many things. If you target a special whip target (an orange circle hook), you will either yank on it or hang from it. If you target any item on the ground, you can use the whip to automatically bring it to you. If you target any living character, friend or foe, they will be tied up. You can then drag them around to a particular spot, or pick them up and carry them with Circle, to set them down later. Pressing Circle while not next to them will detach the whip, but leaved them tied up (how that works I have no idea). If you find yourself the unfortunate target of a tie-up, press X repeatedly to jump out of it. Carried by: Indiana Jones, Dovchenko --- Box, Chest, Undefined Block or Device - Oftentimes, you'll find items that quite simply need to be picked up and put somewhere else. You'll know these items from background objects because they don't respond to being punched, and have a blue downward arrow pointing at them. Simply pick them up with Circle then press Circle to set them back down again. Look for more downward pointing arrows where you can set them down properly. Most of the time, the items are heavy to the point where you walk more slowly when carrying them. Also, you cannot attack while lugging them around. Throwable - Mostly, this will be in the form of bar stools or chairs. Pick up the object with Circle, then target as described in the beginning of this section. You'll tend to need to use these when your enemies are just out of reach of your punches in certain missions. --- Bazooka - Just as useful for demolition as combat. Each Bazooka has four rockets. Use them on enemies for quick destruction, or use it on shiny LEGO objects to bust them open. There is also a more sizeable missile launcher weapon which is more or less the exact same thing. Carried by: Bazooka Trooper (Raiders), Dietrich, British Commander, Bazooka Trooper (Crusade), General Ross, Russian Officer Black Sleep - This foul concotion renders the recipient under the wielder's total mind control. If you connect this to an enemy, you will then take control of their actions. Carried by: Maharajah, Mola Ram Book - Books are used to "translate heiroglyphs". Basically, while carrying a book, walk up to the 3x3 block of glyphs on the wall and press Circle. A series of four of them will light up. Match that series in order to activate whatever they do. Carried by: Village Elder, Henry Jones, Brody, Stanforth Crystal Skull - The eponymous cranial case is kind of an everlasting torch, in the sense that if there's a carpet of bugs/snakes near you, they will disperse if you run at them while carrying one. Carried by: Oxley Dynamite - That special "auto-lighting" dynamite. Picking up a cluster of this stuff will immediately give you about ten seconds to throw it before it explodes in your hands. Target and throw and you can even take out shiny LEGO objects. Grenade - Tend to be on the belts of bad guy officers. Grenades, like all explosives, can bust up shiny LEGO objects. Simply target and throw. Carried by: Enemy Officer (Desert), Russian Grenadier Key - These look like little gold wind-up keys. The "lock" is generally a device with gold gears. Once you place the key using Circle, press and hold Circle again to turn the device. Machine Gun - A rapid-fire long-range weapon. Fires in bursts of 3 for a total of 24 shots per gun. You can find this with certain bad guys. Carried by: Major Toht, Lao Che, Enemy Soldier (Machine Gun), Panama Hat Man, Donovan, Russian Machine Gunner Perfume - Toss this purple bottle of olfactory delight and enemies will cease to attack you and will attack each other. Carried by: Willie, Dancing Girl Pistol - This is a standard six-shot pistol. In addition to putting holes in your enemies, you can also use guns for hitting red and yellow bullseyes that activate some ancient mechanism. To properly use it, put some distance between yourself and the enemy, else you'll just punch. Carried by: Sherpa Brawler, Enemy Soldier (Desert), Shanghai Hoodlum, Enemy Guard, Enemy Pilot, Colonel Vogel, Mac, Russian (US Disguise), Hangar Guard, Agent, Taylor, Soldier Rifle - Yet another long-range weapon. A few later soldiers will carry this. In the end, it works the same as a pistol, except it holds 12 shots. Shovel - Can be used for combat, but is meant for excavation. Certain piles of rubble glow with sparkles. Hold Circle near these piles to unearth whatever's under them. Carried by: Sallah, Satipo, Russian Digger, Ugha Digger Spear - Tend to be a weapon of indigenous peoples. A nice traditional weapon, of course, but in LEGO Indy 2 they provide the added bonus of an impromptu pole. Look for white circles on the wall with an orange triangle above and you have a place to target your spear, where it will stick in the wall, allowing you to hang and jump from it. Carried by: Hovitos Tribesman, Thuggee Acolyte, Cemetery Warrior, Ugha Warrior Staff of Ra - Originally used to pinpoint the exact location of the Well of Souls in Raiders, this can also cause a good amount of blunt damage if swung hard enough. For the purpose of puzzling, you'll come across several illuminated light sources in the game that require some manipulation in order to use their Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams. Just make sure you aim properly. Carried by: Belloq Sword - A wicked piece of metal (not unlike Motorhead's "Ace of Spades"), the sword is meant for slicing and dicing. Most enemies will fall with one well-placed chop, and certain blade-wielding enemies must actually be "dueled" to disarm them. Furthermore, it can be used as a puzzle implement. If you see a vertical hanging rope with some sparkles on it, throw the sword at it to sever it. Carried by: Masked Bandit, Bandit Swordsman, Thuggee, Pankot Assassin, Hatay King, Grail Knight, Agent Spalko Torch - Used to burn things, mostly dynamite fuses. Can also be used as an impromptu weapon. If carrying one, creepy crawlies on the ground will avoid you, and if there's an area with another torch sconce, you can set the torch there to keep them away. Water Bottle - Water bottles are used for dousing fire, particularly obvious pointy LEGO fire. Target and throw the patch of fire to toss the bottle at it and put it out. Wrench - Can be used for combat, but is meant for repair jobs. You'll find blue engines that are spitting out smoke. Hold Circle near these engines to fix them up, activating the engine. Carried by: Jock, Captain Katanga, Short Round, Coronado Sailor, Mutt There are a couple of other items that are specific to one or two characters that serve no practical purpose, like the Janitor's Broom or the Ugha King's Scepter. I mention them in the Characters section at the bottom, but making separate entries here wouldn't help much. ================ 3D. Hints/Tips = ================ This is for quick reference of things to remember. If you want a more exhaustive version of how to play the game, look at the next section. Smash freakin' everything. Lay waste to the area and rack up an awesome stud total. One of my favorite tactics is to spin Indy's whip around as I run around. It really clears the area out. If they don't go down from whipping, pull out some firepower, or run over it with a vehicle. Studs are available in four denominations, each worth a different multiple of ten: Silver - 10 Gold - 100 Blue - 1000 Purple - 10000 Studs can be hidden in the darnedest of areas. Make sure to check behind things, including the "front wall". You'll never know what could be hidden there until you check, because the camera angle sure won't let you know. ****************************************************************************** 4. NEW GAMEPLAY SETUP ****************************************************************************** Yes, this seriously does warrant its own section, because they changed everything around on us. Well, not EVERYTHING. You're still a little LEGO person running about collecting studs, breaking stuff, and completing missions, but I thought I'd take a section to explain exactly how you go about doing that in this game, because it's different from every other game in the LEGO action series. --- Main Game Structure The game opens in the warehouse (from the end of Raiders and the beginning of Crystal Skull), where you are presented with eight crates as a sort of main menu. In the beginning, one crate will open, allowing you access to a LEGO playset (Crystal Skull Part 1). The major parts of this game are separated by playsets. Once you open the first playset, you'll only have one choice: to start the Story. The fifteen question marks in the top of the menu are the missions in the playset. The top row is the Story Mission set, the second row is the Treasure Mission set, and the bottom row is the Bonus Level set, which I'll explain in turn in a moment. Once you find these within the story, you can access them again at any time from this menu. In the upper-left corner of the menu is the record of your progress with Treasure and Power Bricks. Note that this game now has sets of red, green, and blue Power Bricks. The bottom part of the menu is for characters and vehicles. As you unlock them in the game, they'll be visible down here. Once you complete the first mission in KCS1, you'll unlock Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the Creator. After that, playsets will unlock in chronological order as you complete their Story Missions. --- Starting the Story (The Hub) Once you begin a story, you'll be placed in the Hub for that story. The first thing you may notice is that, unlike the old games where the hub was nothing but a gallery to quickly access each mission, in this game the Hub is a level unto itself. It's a large open area with lots of places to explore and stuff to find. When you first reach a hub, you will more than likely be in a confined space and will be led right to the first Story Mission. Just follow the arrows. As you progress through the Story Missions, more of the hub will open up to you, prompting you to explore further. Take that opportunity. Often you'll be required to perform some kind of task to open the way to the next mission, or perhaps buy a certain vehicle to clear the way. --- Story Missions Green arrows lead to Story Missions. Usually you'll have to perform some minor puzzle to open the way, but sometimes not. As soon as you enter, you'll automatically be given the characters needed to progress through the mission. Sometimes it will be more than two. Remember you can switch characters at any time by pressing Triangle or any of the L/R Buttons. Each mission has its own requirement for completion, but most of them follow one of the following four archetypes: Exploration Mission - Proceed through the puzzles to reach the end. Sometimes might involve constructing something or finding something. Combat Mission - Fight off waves of bad guys. You'll be tasked with busting up certain particular bad guys in order to proceed. Vehicle Mission - Basically a glorified combat mission, in that you're again tasked with smashing certain enemies, only you get a large open area to drive vehicles around in. Boss Mission - Naturally winds up a set of missions. You'll face off against something sizeable, and will need to solve puzzles in order to defeat it. Once you finish the mission, you'll be returned to the Hub where the studs you picked up in that mission will be tallied to your grand total. If this is your first time through the mission, there's a possibility you'll be put in an entirely different part of the Hub once you exit, ideally close to your next mission, but not necessarily. --- Treasure Missions Once you beat a Story Mission, there will still be an arrow pointing to its entrance in the Hub. The difference is that the arrow will now be yellow. If you enter the mission again, you'll start the Treasure Mission. This puts you in a different version of the same level (such as in the aftermath of what you've done, ie. if you blew the place up in the Story, you'll now be in its ruins). The rules have changed in a Treasure Mission. First of all, unlike Story Missions, where you're automatically given characters, in a Treasure Mission, you'll only play as the two characters you're running around with. Also, instead of reaching the end or fighting the bad guys, you'll now have to solve puzzles in order to make a Treasure appear. Furthermore, as soon as you enter the mission, you'll be given pop-up messages telling you what you need to complete it. For example, you'll be told if you need a character with a whip, or a wrench, or a sword. Since you take the characters you enter with, you'll need to prepare beforehand. Usually, this will be only two stipulations, but sometimes the game will get cute and give you three requirements. For instance, if they mention needing a whip, security access, and explosives, then you obviously need Indy, but also an enemy soldier who carries explosives. If you have the proper characters you need already, you won't get any pop-up messages, so you'll know that you're good to go. Solve the puzzles and find the treasure. You'll have it added to your tally and will, of course, keep all the studs you collected. Once you complete the mission, the arrow pointing to it in the Hub will alternate between green and yellow. This means that when you enter, you'll have the option of choosing which you want to play: story or treasure. --- Bonus Levels These are missions hidden throughout the Hub, and the means to access them isn't always obvious. Entry may require buying certain characters or vehicles, or it may just mean bashing the right blocks or moving a puzzle piece around. Once you enter the level, you'll automatically be given two specific characters to play as. Note that if it's a character you haven't yet purchased, you will NOT keep it after leaving. Anyway, once inside, you'll find that these are pretty much extra Treasure Missions. Solve the puzzle to find the Treasure, then you'll leave and reap your rewards. Once you complete it once, you can always return or access it from the playset menu. --- Power Bricks These are no longer in missions, but scattered throughout a Hub. Specifically, there are three sets of ten Power Bricks each in a Hub, each set a different color: red, green, and blue. They are hidden, though, and require you to demolish particular objects to find them. Each set is hidden differently, but all bricks in a Hub of the same color are hidden in the same object. For instance, in Crystal Part 1, all the Red Power Bricks are hidden under fire hydrants. Like most hidden stuff, you may not be able to find all the bricks without purchasing particular characters or vehicles in order to get around. Once you find all ten of any set, the "Extra" is parachuted in to a particular spot on the map via parcel. You need to walk up to it and purchase it (often for a healthy amount of studs) and then it will be added to your Extras Menu. Then, you can pause the game, access the Extras Menu, and turn the Extra off and on as you like. Typically, Red Power Bricks refer to score multipliers, Greens refer to silly aesthetic stuff, and Blues refer to things that get you around faster. --- Treasures and Super Bonus Levels Five Treasure Missions and five Bonus Levels in each playset add up to a grand total of ten Treasures. As you find Treasures, they are placed in a particular spot in the Hub, around a particular conspicuous object. Smash them as they appear to find pieces. Once you get all ten, you can use the pieces to assemble a vehicle which will take you to the playset's Super Bonus Level. In the Super Bonus Level, you'll be put in a LEGO Town setup and will have to collect one million studs to pass. Fortunately, there are plenty of purple and blue studs to boost your total handily, so the effort isn't as daunting as it sounds, nor as it has been in past games. As a final bit of good news, once you pass the one million threshold, you CAN FINALLY KEEP THE STUDS. Yes, that's a cool million tacked onto your total. The only caveat to that is that score multipliers cannot be used for Super Bonus Levels, so no matter how many of those you have, you will still only get a million, no matter what. --- Characters and Vehicles In past games, there was one major character bank where you bought all the characters/vehicles and then took them into missions. Not so much in LEGO Indy 2. Each playset now has its own set of characters/vehicles that can only be used in that particular playset. Furthermore, there's no one place you can go to buy them. You now have to wander around the Hub to find them. You may even be required to solve certain puzzles to access them. Also, in the case of certain enemy characters, you'll be beset upon by several of a single type of enemy. After beating them up, you'll find one with a question mark over it. Beat up that guy so he's stunned and the Circle prompt will appear above its head. At that point, you can purchase that enemy character, after which they will no longer attack you. --- True Adventurer One thing that's maintained since the old games is collecting a certain number of studs in a mission. Attaining True Adventurer only relates to your percent complete, so it's not necessary for unlocking anything, but hey, everyone likes more studs, right? So, anyway, all fifteen missions in any playset (Story, Treasure, Bonus) have a True Adventurer threshold. Once you hit the mark, you cannot lose that status by having your studs lowered through dying, so don't worry about that. Some of the marks can be pretty stringent, and you might need at least the x2 multiplier to comfortably hit it. I notify which missions might have a tight goal for you. ****************************************************************************** 5. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK ****************************************************************************** ================================== 5A. Main Hub/Characters/Vehicles = ================================== Setup - The western area is a Tibetan mountainside. A large portion of the center is the Egyptian desert, which includes the city of Cairo to the north, and a small airport to the south, along with several other buildings dotted around, as well as the Well of Souls to the south. A bridge to the east leads to a harbor. The island where the Ark was opened (Geheimhaven) is in the south, and the Hovitos temple is an island to the north. There are also several tiny islands dotted around the landscape, but they're mostly inconsequential. --- Restricted Areas - You can access most of this area from the get go, except for the harbor to the far east, until after Map Room Mystery, and the island of Geheimhaven after After the Ark. The fenced-in airstrip in the desert is only accessed once you purchase Belloq. --- Characters/Vehicles Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull) Jock Available from the beginning Marion Available after Raven Rescue Sherpa Brawler - 15,000 Just outside of the tavern after Raven Rescue. Sallah Available after Market Mayhem Masked Bandit - 17,000 Available after Market Mayhem, just outside Cairo. Army Jeep - 30,000 Once you unlock Sallah, dig it out of the sand just east of Cairo. Passenger Jet - 100,000 Once you unlock Sallah, dig the plane out near the tavern. Captain Katanga - 25,000 Once you unlock any plane, go to the Hovitos island to the northeast. Use the crank near the top of the temple twice to rotate the lever at the top, then grab onto it to toss out the race pylons. Fly the race to make Katanga appear. Bazooka Trooper (Raiders) - 30,000 Once you unlock the Army Jeep, beat the race just to the southeast of Cairo. He'll appear near the bridge between Tibet and the desert. Bandit Swordsman - 27,000 Once you unlock someone with explosives, blow up the gate at the camel enclosure, then take a camel on the race to the west. Snowmobile - 15,000 After you unlock a soldier of some sort, use the security hut southwest of the tavern to get this. Biplane - 100,000 Once you unlock someone with explosives, go to the Hovitos island to the northeast and blast the chains holding this down. Hovitos Tribesman - 30,000 Once you unlock someone with explosives, go to the Hovitos island to the northeast and enter the Hovitos Temple bonus level. Upon completion, hostile tribesmen (and not just the dancers) will start spilling out of it. Blue Speedboat - 20,000 Green Speedboat - 20,000 After unlocking the Hovitos Tribesman, use his Spears on the winch near the Temple to and grab them to lower the box of parts to reassemble these boats. Satipo - 25,000 After unlocking either of the Speedboats, take it to the nearby race. Win and you'll find Satipo on the temple. Enemy Soldier (Desert) - 15,000 After Map Room Mystery, just outside the Well of Souls. U-Boat 26 - 30,000 After After the Ark, bring someone with explosives to Geheimhaven and blow up the shiny box. Bust up the objects underneath and you'll find a Key. Put it in the nearby crank to open up the sub dock where you'll find this. Major Toht - 50,000 After Belloq Battle, you'll find a snowman head near the tavern. Take the arm twigs and put them on the green panels to make a firepit, then take the Torch from up the stairs and set it there to melt the snowman. Colonel Dietrich - 75,000 After Belloq Battle, you'll find a new box on Geheimhaven. Smash it to find pieces for a pump. Stand on the pump's button for a moment and you'll reinflate Dietrich. Belloq - 500,000 After Belloq Battle, head back to Geheimhaven and reassemble him. Enemy Officer (Desert) - 25,000 Flying Wing - 250,000 You need Belloq for this. Put the yellow lights in the light fixture. Most are in front of the fixture, but there's one near the ice cream stand to the north, and another further to the east near the race marker. Once that's assembled, direct the light into the reflector to open the gate. Enemy Boxer - 20,000 You need the Flying Wing. Take off with the Wing with both characters in it (so you can shoot) and seek out hot air balloons. Shoot down all five to make this guy appear. --- Power Bricks Red Bricks - Brown Barrels From the beginning: 1: In a stack to the east of the tavern. 2: In a stack to the east of the tavern. 3: In a stack to the east of the tavern. 4: Pull on the rope just west of the tavern. 5: In the south part of the desert area, near the roasted pig. 6: In the south part of the desert area, west of the roasted pig. Use the whip switch. After purchasing someone with a gun or Map Room Mystery (and taking a gun). 7: Another near the roasted pig, only high up on a tower. Shoot it. After After the Ark: 8: In the harbor area. Use the whip switch to drop it. 9: In the harbor area, use the switch to move the magnet above the water. After Purchasing Belloq: 10: In the enclosed airstrip area. Reassemble the light fixture, then use Belloq's Staff to reflect the light. Extra: Score x3 (2,000,000) Green Bricks - Christmas Trees From the beginning: 1: To the left of the tavern door. 2: Further left of the tavern door. 3: To the east of the tavern. 4: To the east of the tavern. 5: Southwest of the downed plane. 6: Southwest of the downed plane. 7: Southwest of the downed plane. 8: Southwest of the downed plane. 9: Southeast of the tavern. 10: Southeast of the tarvern. Extra: Poo Money (60,000) With this extra, if riding an animal, press Blue Bricks - Satellite Dishes From the beginning: 1: To the left of the tavern door. 2: In the south part of the desert area, near the roasted pig. Throw a nearby chair at it. 3: On the white building west of the drawbridge leading to the harbor. 4: On the white building southwest of the drawbridge leading to the harbor. 5: Just outside the door to Cairo. 6: Near the security hut southwest of the tavern. You'll probably need to throw something or shoot to reach it. If you don't want to unlock someone with a gun, you can always use the Masked Bandit's sword or something. After After the Ark: 7: In the harbor on the west side. 8: In the harbor near the gate. 9: After riding on the ship, on the west side of Geheimhaven. After Purchasing Belloq: 10: In the enclosed airstrip area. Reassemble the light fixture, then use Belloq's Staff to reflect the light. Extra: Fast Build (500,000) ==================== 5B. Story Missions = ==================== Starting Characters - Indiana Jones, Jock Having already come and gone to the Hovitos Temple, you'll begin at a crashed landing strip right outside Marion's bar in Tibet. Head on inside. --- Raven Rescue - TA @ 25k - Once the guns start firing, it'll be tough to hang on to your studs, so focus on the studs early, since you pretty much have the whole area open to you. It's possible to hit the mark as early as assembling the second dish. Characters - Indiana Jones, Marion Boss Mission Uh oh. Seems like someone's figured out how to use the Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams. In case you didn't know by this point, light beams are not instantly deadly, but are harmful if you stand in them for a while. At just about any point in the mission, you can throw something solid at Toht to stun him momentarily. Anyway, smash up the objects near the bar in the foreground and you'll find pieces to make a push track, as well as a reflector dish. Once Toht's beam is on the dish, push it along the track so it reflects directly back at him. After the hit, he'll open up with his machine gun for a bit, and some Sherpas will attack. Hold off the bad guys until Toht starts using the beam again, then go to the right side of the room and assemble another track and dish. Now, note the lit-up portion of each track on the floor. Push each dish onto that lit-up spot to properly reflect the beam. Next follows another machine gun barrage, only one of the Sherpas will be armed with a gun, too. To properly take him down, tie him up with the whip, then punch him. Once Toht moves back to beams, push the two dishes to the new lit spots and lure Toht's beam over to the right side. Toht will now jump down to fight you directly, so punch his hearts away. --- With Marion on your team, you can now go just west of the Cairo location and jump up and grab the lever to drop a Key. Use the Key on the door to the city. --- Market Mayhem - TA @ 13k - As this is a combat mission, it's best to focus on studs early. Characters - Indiana Jones (Desert), Sallah Combat Mission Wave 1: Five Masked Bandits. Fight normally. Wave 2: Five Enemy Soldiers (Desert). Masked Bandits will continue to harrass you. Use a Sword or Pistol to clear the area quickly. Wave 3: Eight Enemy Soldiers (Desert) and two green-clad Camel Riders. Either shoot or throw a sword at the camels to knock the riders off, then tie up the soldiers with the whip so you can finish them. Wave 4: Two black-clad Riflemen and eight Masked Bandits. Use the whip beneath each Rifleman to unseat them. Wave 5: Five Bandit Swordsmen. The game will tell you this, but you need to find a Sword and repeatedly press Square against one of these guys to disarm them. Take out the first three on the ground, then go to the back right of the area, find a Banana, and toss it at the monkey to get the key for the platform on the right. Climb up and deal with the last two. --- Head south from Cairo and dig up the area near the Sphinx. --- Map Room Mystery - TA @ 25k - There are two areas to this, so don't think you have to get ALL the studs in the first area. Howeer, a Purple hiding behind some of the map blocks will definitely give you a nice boost. Characters - Indiana Jones (Desert Disguise), Sallah (Desert) Exploration Mission You'll automatically begin with a Staff of Ra in hand. Mind the snakes, because there are several in here, and Indy won't budge near them. Anyway, dig in the back right corner to uncover some pieces to put on the track. Also, smash the walls back here to assemble the rest of the statue. Push it to the left and its staff will tilt into a railing. This will let you jump up to the scaffolding in the back. Take the Torch and bring it to the snake pit on the right. Press Circle to place it so the snakes don't come back, then throw the switch to extend a ledge. Now, use the whip target in the bottom right, then smash the statue. Grab the dish and place it up the ledge to the right. Now, head to the platform on the left end of the room and press Circle to use the Staff. Aim the beam at the statue on the back wall, which will open up a compartment on the left wall. Put together the whip target, then yank on it to pull out a block. Hop up to the Key and use it near the platform. Now, use the Staff, which will open a hole below you. You have lost Sallah, but now have Marion (Evening Dress). Have Marion punch out all the snakes in the area. Grab the Torches on the back wall and put them in the sconces on the left and right walls. Pull each of the switches you have access to now. The one on the right pulls out a ledge, and the one on the left gives you a Spear. Throw the Spear at a hole on the east wall. The other Spear on the back wall can be whipped, so use it on the other hole. Have Marion hop up the ledge and across the Spears to grab the big Anubis statue. Have Indy hop on while she has it pulled down and you'll bust open the wall to your escape. --- Use the whip to rope the soldiers off their horses, then have both Indy and Marion take them. Leap them across the downed bridge, then step on both vehicle buttons and continue on. --- After the Ark - TA @ 100k - Standard procedure for Vehicles: Find powerups before getting big studs as you get a double and a Stud Magnet with every powerup. Characters - Indiana Jones, Sallah (Desert) Vehicle Mission Wave 1 - Four Gunner Jeeps. Ditch the horse as soon as possible and hop aboard an enemy car. Ram the jeeps. Wave 2 - Two Gunner Jeeps and two Trucks. Once the jeeps are down, look for a tan truck, because your car can't hurt the trucks. Wave 3 - Two Trucks and two more Gunner Jeeps. Don't be afraid to use that ledge of death on the west side. You now have (tan) Gunner Jeeps as a ride option if you want to get shooty. Wave 4 - The Ark Truck. Smash into it with your own truck, then climb aboard once it stops. Done! Wave 5 - Belloq's Car. Run it down with the Ark! --- Smash up the boxes near the water and assemble the rope tow. Hop aboard the ship. After the ride, walk up to the opening site. --- Belloq Battle - TA @ 25k - There's a purple behind the outhouse to the east, and another behind some crates to the west. Should cover most of it. Characters - Indiana Jones (Army Disguise), Marion (Nightgown) Boss Mission Yep. It's time to duel with the Ark Spirit. All those lightning bolts spilling out of it are very damaging. The way to avoid all this mayhem is to hide in a barrel. Make your way to the east and remove the barrel once the bolts aren't harrassing you anymore. First, use Marion to jump up to the obvious ledge, grab the device and put it near the gray and green machine. Use the two nearby whip targets and climb up the ramps, then the rope to the top ledge where you'll find another object to place on the machine. This will bust up some pieces so you can create a reflector dish. Now, make your way to the west side and hop up to the high ledge. Push the box of the edge, assemble the resulting pieces, then push the reflector dish off the track. Now, the spirit is on the ropes. Get under a barrel and move up to the weird engine thing. Have both characters stand on the buttons and that should do it! ======================= 5C. Treasure Missions = ======================= Toasty Tavern - Needed: Sword (Masked Bandit), Explosives (Bazooka Trooper (Raiders)) TA @ 33k - There are purples in plain sight, so use them. Throw your Sword at the rope to drop stuff to make some tables so you can cross the fire. Blast the two drums and the hanging drum with your explosives to create parts for a button and allow the barrels to be pushed to the back. With the barrels in place and the button pushed, go up the stairs and grab the Treasure. --- Cairo Conundrum - Needed: Spear (Hovitos Tribesman), Staff of Ra (Belloq) TA @ 24k - Just clean up the main area. That should be enough. To begin with using our Hovitos friend, use a Spear on a socket to the right, then climb up, grab the lever, and place it in the indicated spot to the south. Now, Belloq's the real star here, as the idea is to do a multiple light reflection. First, head to the left side and punch up a gray box to find parts to put on the push tracks, which, when pushed to the rest of the device, will fire up your light that you need. Further, head to the south and find another box to blow up, which has parts for a rotating reflector dish. Now, situate Belloq on the light spot and start shining light to the right. Move the first dish so it's pointing south and ever so slightly to the left. The second dish (on the right) should be facing west. The third dish (on the bottom) should be facing north. The last dish should be facing east, just a bit to the south. It's going to take a lot of trial and error to get this perfect, but it can be done. --- Cryptic Crypt - Needed: Whip (Indy), Sword (Masked Bandit) TA @ 23k - There's a purple hidden on the right side near the Anubis statue. Smash up the map area to find a Wrench, then use it on the engine to raise a box of parts. Place the box, then use the parts to construct an arm. The other arm is in the map area. To place it, you first need a lift. Use a Sword on the rope on the left side to drop parts for a lever. Assemble it and push the sphinx statue. Hop Indy onto the front end, then have him whip the arm and place it. --- Desert Dash - TA @ 90k - Just don't forget the covered bridge in the middle with the purple. Vehicle missions are about popping ten blue balloons to make the Treasure appear: Balloon 1: West of the start high above a bridge. This is probably one of the tougher ones to get in the game. Get a Jump powerup, then drive from the west and leap just before the bridge ramps downward. Balloon 2: Leap from a ramp at the western rocks. The ramp has a Boost in front of it. Balloon 3: In the market area on the west side, between some buildings and off a ramp. Balloon 4: In the market area on the west side, on top of a fountain surrounded by blue studs. Balloon 5: East of Balloon 4 is a ramp over the river, where this one floats. Balloon 6: At the far south end high above a bridge. Definitely easier to jump to than #1. Balloon 7: At the southwest corner of the market. You'll probably need to jump to reach it. Balloon 8: Southeast of the starting point above a wooden platform. You'll need a Jump to reach it. Balloon 9: In the eastern excavation area is a ramp leading to all the chutes and scaffolding, where this floats. Balloon 10: At the far east excavation area, at the very end. --- Buildozer - Needed: Spear (Hovitos Tribesman), Shovel (Sallah) TA @ 43k - Shouldn't be a problem. Studs are everywhere. Use Sallah to dig up the dirt under the big skull, which makes a mess, but at least you can assemble the bulldozer. Use the Hovitos' spear on the holes on the west wall to climb up to a box. Push the box off and assemble the ramp. Now, drive the bulldozer up to the vehicle button. ================== 5D. Bonus Levels = ================== Mountain Shack - Entry: Buy a ground vehicle of some kind and drive up the mountain to the left of the tavern. Enter the shack at the top. TA @ 51k - Plenty hidden in corners and the like. Be sure to use the water level to go back and get studs you couldn't reach before. Characters: Indiana Jones, Satipo Head to the right up the stairs, then spin the crank at the far right to fill up the area with water. Swim to the north then step on the two buttons to start up the fan. Head west then south with the moving platforms, then turn the next crank to raise the water higher. Go north and step on the next two buttons to put the water at its highest. Now, you can reach the two switches in the eastern portion to open the door to the Treasure. --- Airstrip Hangar - Entry: You need Belloq in order to enter the enclosed airstrip. Reassemble the pieces of the light fixture and use his Staff to reflect the light. Once inside, throw the switch to open it. TA @ 6k - Try to stay out of the lava if you can help it. There's a very small amount here to begin with. Characters: Indiana Jones, Jock Jump to the right across the traps, then find the Spear at the far right end. Throw it at the hole on the back wall, right side, then climb up to the switch. On the left side, hop across the platforms, avoiding the trap idol, all the way to the left. Use the whip to grab the Spear, then head back and throw it at the hole near the center. Push the box into place and hop up. Go left across the sawblades to get a gun, then shoot the target to open the door so you can throw the second switch. Now you can get up elevators in the middle to reach the treasure. --- Hovitos Temple - Entry: You need someone with explosives. Head northeast to the Hovitos island and blow open the shiny skulls blocking the entrance. TA @ 50k - There are two lodes you need to consider yourself with. The first is on the left path. At the light beams, go south across the platforms, but this is peanuts compared to the right path. As you go down the path, you'll see a whip switch. Use it to raise a platform to the south. On these platforms, push the boxes off the ledges so all the beams are running, then hop across the bottom to the far side to reach the rest of the studs. Characters: Indiana Jones, Sallah Climb up the stairs and whip across at the south wall to find three Spears for the holes on the north wall. Cross the Spears and head further to the right. Use Sallah to dig up the push tracks so you can move the box, hop over the gap, and throw the switch to get some platforms. Have both characters stand on the two buttons and you can proceed north. Throw the switch at the end to lower the lava a bit. Smash up the skeletons down the next path and step on the two buttons, which will raise more platforms north. You now have to go two different paths. Left path: Take out the Hovitos, then dig up the push tracks. Push the two boxes into the top corners, then throw the switch to start the light beams, which will open the door. Head through, push the box, and hop over to the switch. Right path: Turn north with the path, then whip to the north across the gap. Head west then south, then push the box east so that Sallah can get through to dig up the ladder. Grab some dynamite and toss it at the shiny wall. Hit that switch. The way is now open to the Treasure. --- Bantu Wind - Entry: After travelling to Geheimhaven, simply go right back into the ship's hold. TA @ 20k - There's a purple hidden in the upper-left corner up the ladder behind the low wall. Characters: Indiana Jones, Sallah Have Sallah dig up the ladder, climb up and swing across to turn the crank, which opens the door. Now, ride the bike through the door, and avoid the spike traps. Drive onto the vehicle button, which will raise a platform you can cross. On this side, have Sallah dig up the ladder and assemble it, then pull the whip switch to raise the ramp. Drive the bike onto the new vehicle button and then cross the moving platform to the Treasure. --- Submarine Base - Entry: You must purchase U-Boat 26. Drive it to the north of its main dock to find another dock. TA @ 15k - Plenty lying around. Nothing really hidden. Characters: Indiana Jones, Jock Head to the right, smashing bushes so the light beams can pass. Beat up the soldiers and take their guns, then have Jock fix the engine. Continue up the steps. Use the whip switch behind some bushes on the left, and shoot a gun at the target on the right. You should now have a full set of ramps leading up to the vehicle button at the top, so take a bike up there to unlock the Treasure. --- Lost World - The ten treasures are placed at the south of the desert area, near the fenced-in airstrip. Assemble the device and throw the switch to blow open the volcano. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Grab a vehicle and cruise around, collecting a million studs. Use the whip for close quarters work. There are horses in the southeast corner, and you should use their high jump for certain high purples. ****************************************************************************** 6. THE TEMPLE OF DOOM ****************************************************************************** ================================== 6A. Main Hub/Characters/Vehicles = ================================== Setup - Shanghai is the northeastern portion. The Pankot region dominates the rest of the map, starting at a raging river at the north end. At the end of the river is the village of Mayapore, which sits in the west area. Further south of that is Pankot Palace. Below that is the entrace to the mines and the Temple of Kali. Further east is the canyon and its rope bridge. Other areas are mainly connectors. There's a beach that stretches all along the south shore, and paths leading to the northeast to the Shanghai area. --- Restricted Areas In the beginning you're confined to the Shanghai area. Once you beat Lao Chase, you pretty much have your run of the entire area, and the gate to Shanghai will open. The only missing piece is a small patch of mountain land that you need to drop onto from a plane. --- Characters/Vehicles Indiana Jones Willie Available at the beginning Short Round Available after Lao Che Chase Junk Boat - 35,000 Available after Lao Che Chase, sitting in the water at the south end. Extra: Stud Magnet (200,000) ==================== 6B. Story Missions = ==================== Begin by having Willie jump up at the marked spot to step on a button and find a whip switch. Carry that over to the south and have Indy whip it. Enter the mission. --- Lao Chase - TA @ 25k - Seems low for a vehicle mission, which of course means that there aren't many to be had. Seek ye them powerups. Characters - Indiana Jones (Dinner Suit), Short Round Vehicle Mission Wave 1 - Four Tuk Tuks. Hop in the nearby car and smash 'em. Wave 2 - Two Gangster Cars, Two Rickshaws, Two Motor Scooters. Your car should be fine for it. Unless you really want to ride shotgun on a Tuk Tuk. Wave 3 - Four Motor Scooters, Three Armored Cars. For the cars, hijack a Rickshaw, from which you can throw dynamite. Seriously! Wave 4 - Lao Che's Car. You can switch up to a Tuk Tuk, since gunning him down is easier than tagging him with dynamite. --- Grab the raft and float downstream. Get off at the end then head west and into the village. --- Monkey Mischief - TA @ 40k - There's a purple behind the front wall near the palm tree with the monkey on it. You'll need it. Characters - Indiana Jones, Willie (Dinner Suit), Short Round Exploration Mission Oh the MONKEYS took the stones. Who knew? Anyway, the point of this mission is to get the three Sankara Stones back from the monkeys. First thing's first. Monkeys need bananas. So have Short Round fix the engine near the water wheel, then pull the whip switch. This will cause water to flow in the river and bananas to grow on the tree. Monkey 1: On top of a nearby palm tree. Toss a banana at him and he'll toss the stone back. One down. Monkey 2: Take the Torch from the back wall near the pot, then use it on the pot to make a steam jet that Indy can ride up, then whip across to the right and push the box off the edge. Assemble the scaffolding then turn the key at the top to raise it up with Willie on it. Have Willie hop across the railings to the right, then kick the rope ladder down. Now, get a banana up to the monkey. Monkey 3: To the east of Monkey 2 is a weak wooden roof that can be dropped into. Use the Sword inside to cut the rope blocking your way out, then take the Key to the lock to the east. In the eastern area is a wall that can be knocked down. Crawl through the vent behind it with Short Round, then have him stand in the gondola (the cable car kind) to your right. Have someone turn the Key down at ground level to move Shorty to the right, then have him kick down the ladder. Have Indy pull down the whip switch to grab the Shovel, then hop into the elephant enclosure, dig up the pieces, and put together the panel to push the gate open. Ride the elephant to the east to find a large button so you can open the gate to the last monkey. Banana. Stone. Replace. Done. --- Take the nearby elephant south, then west to Pankot Palace. Stand on the vehicle button and you can enter. --- Malice at the Palace - TA @ 22k - This one had me stumped for a while, but the means to do it without a multiplier is to make sure you grab onto the elephant statue tusks at either end of the area. You'll get a good 4,000 from them. Characters - Indiana Jones, Willie (Evening Dress), Short Round Combat Mission Wave 1 - Six Pankot Guards. Get punchy. Wave 2 - Three Pankot Guards, Three Pankot Swordsmen. Throw cups off the table at the swordsmen. Wave 3 - Five Pankot Swordsmen, Two Thuggee Riflemen, One Pankot Assassin. Use the whip to drop the Riflemen to your level, and duel the Assassin with a sword. Wave 4 - Three Pankot Swordsmen, Five Pankot Assassins. More of the same, really. Get sword-swingin'. --- Drop down south and enter the temple. --- Temple Tantrum - TA @ 45k - The motherlode is in the back right corner. Smash down the wall and search the area for some purples. Be sure to poke behind the walls. Characters - Indiana Jones, Willie (Ceremony), Short Round Boss Mission Your objective here is to snap our beloved Maharajah from his Black Sleep stupor. First, head west with Willie and climb up the ladder, jump across the railing, and push down the ladder near the blue and white platform. Climb up with Short Round and enter the vent. Wait for the other two characters to get on the platform, then turn the switch to move the platform to the other side CAREFULLY so they don't get burned by the fire. Kick down the ladder and have Indy whip the two targets to make platforms so you can reach the Maharajah. This won't stop him, but it will give you a Key. Use this Key on the winch in the middle of the room. This releases one of three blue gears. Place the gear to the right on one of the green axles. You need to get the other two, now. Punch up some of the Thuggee Acolytes (the white guys) and take a hat they drop. Now use the "Thuggee Statue" in the center of the room. This falls away to reveal an elevator to Blue Gear #2. Place it. The final gear is on the far right. Climb up the ladder, whip-swing across, and there it is. Have Shorty fix up the gears. --- Take control of the Maharajah and use his Black Sleep on the guard in the watchtower to the northeast. Have the guard throw the switch, then jump up to the rope bridge. --- Mola Rampage - TA @ 30k - The four purples very obviously in the area should have you covered. Characters: Indiana Jones (Kali), Short Round Boss Mission Admit it. This is a lot cooler than the bridge standoff. The giant Kali statue stomps towards you, swings a mean sword, and is on fire. First, grab a Water Bottle and chuck it at the flaming foot. This gives Shorty an opportunity to crawl up the foot. Once at the top, punch Mola Ram. You'll now spot a whip target on Kali. Pull it. That's pretty much the entire fight. Water Bottle, crawl, whip. Sure, Kali mixes it up a bit with some flashy moves, such as cracks in the earth spewing fire, but you shouldn't need to change your tactics too much. ======================= 6C. Treasure Missions = ======================= Shang-High - TA @ 28k - Difficult given the small amount of studs. Rely on powerups to help you out. Vehicle missions are about popping ten blue balloons to make the Treasure appear: Balloon 1: On the left side of the buildings in the east area. Balloon 2: On the railing on the north wall west of the entrance. Balloon 3: In the market area in the northwest corner, between some stalls. Balloon 4: In the market area in the northwest corner, on a raised platform. Balloon 5: In the alley along the west wall. Balloon 6: Above the ramp west of the open square. Balloon 7: On the ramp south of the open square. Balloon 8: In the southeast corner near the fountain. Balloon 9: On the platform in the northeast corner. Balloon 10: On the right side of the buildings in the east area. --- Wrong Gong Rung - Needed: Whip (Indiana Jones), Explosives (British Commander) TA @ 25k - The purple here is inside the cabin that the Thuggees hide in. Use the Bazooka to blow up shiny stuff, specifically the cage blocking the elephant and the crate which has parts to put together the gong mallet. Use the whip switch to bang it, which will release ten Thuggees to beat up. Once they're gone, ride the elephant and jump off it near the palm tree with the Treasure. --- Disarming Duel - Needed: Whip (Indiana Jones), Sword (Thuggee) TA @ 18k - Be sure to hang from the elephant statue tusks for a few blues. Get this done before you start tying up the bad guys. Five buttons here, so you'll need to get Indy to tie up the swordsmen, which only works AFTER they've been disarmed. Drag each one over to a button until there are two left, then stand on those buttons. --- Lava Lake - 60k Needed: Book (Village Elder), Spear (Thuggee Acolyte) TA @ 60k - The vast majority is found once you get on the lava. You need to collect five boxes to put on the green panels. Ignore the fighting going on. The Thuggees are just in panic mode, and the soldiers are only targeting them. Box #1: Right near the cage. Box #2: Head left and use Spears on the sockets to climb the back wall, then jump around to the middle. Box #3: At the far left, climb up the ladder with the Elder and head to the back corner to translate the heiroglyphs. Box #4: Go to the back right corner and smash down the wall. Box #5: Ride up the elevator near the middle and head to the back and stand on the platform. Have the other character operate the crank at ground level to send him to the right, then have the first guy push down the box to make a ladder. Throw a Spear at the socket on the wall, then hop across to the box. Assemble the raft and float to the Treasure. --- Cliff Clamber - Needed: Sword (Thuggee), Spear (Thuggee Acolyte) TA @ 40k - Simply don't stop at the Treasure but move past and keep climbing to find mucho studs on upper ledges. Toss Spears on the three sockets to the right. Climb up the ledges and across the rope. Throw a Sword at the rope on the right to climb up the ladder, then head to the left. Keep going left until you come across a plunger. Stand on it to blow up some shiny rocks and uncover another rope to throw a Sword at. Ride the scaffolding up, then go left across the moving platform to grab some Dynamite. Throw it at the pile of shiny rocks to blow them away, then cross further to the right to a point with more wall sockets to throw Spears at. Climb up then move left. You'll find more sockets for Spears, so keep throwing and going left until you hit the Treasure. ================== 6D. Bonus Levels = ================== Club ObiWan - Entry: You need the British Commander. Blast open the main door and enter. TA @ 26k - Check the front walls. Fortunately, the purple is in a rather obvious place. Characters: Indiana Jones, Short Round Have Short Round crawl through the vent and fix the engine to get the platforms moving. Ride up and head across the blade traps. Head east, then down across the thin platforms. Climb up and push the box so you can leap over the fire, then swing to the left to grab a Spear for the socket on the right. Continue to the right then hop above the blade trap to get Water Bottles for the fire. Throw the switch to get platforms moving, then cross and use the whip switch on the left. --- Beachside Cave - Entry: You need the Village Elder and his Book. The cave is on the south side of the area, not far from the canyon. TA @ 25k - There's a purple hiding just to the right of the vent for Short Round. Characters: Indiana Jones, Short Round Drop down and grab a Grenade. Push the box so you can climb back up to the top and blast the shiny rocks to get a Spear. Toss it at one of the far wall sockets. Now, have Short Round go through the vent. Turn the crank to raise the water. Hop across the raised platforms and grab another Spear at the far end. Toss it into the socket near the back wall and climb up to the top so you can reach the Treasure. NOTE: If you want to shorten this mess, you only need one Spear and the water raised. Chuck the one Spear at the lower socket, then jump from it around to the railing, then climb up from the railing. --- Slave Driver Cave - Entry: Use a Thuggee-type to move the Thuggee statue behind the village. The Maharajah works and is free. TA @ 14k - You can always go back later to get studs. Focus on the actual mission until you stop the rocks. Characters: Indiana Jones, Maharajah Oh this one's fun. The idea is to beat a rolling rock to the end of an obstacle course. Pull the first switch, then watch out for the blades as you navigate the tunnels. At the end, use the whip switch quickly before it hits the "failure" rocket. The next leg is pretty much the same thing, only a bit longer. --- Mountain Cave - Entry: Buy the Stunt Plane and parachute onto the snowy area west of Shanghai. TA @ 40k - You'll easily hit this in the process of the mission. Characters: Indiana Jones, Maharajah Head up the stairs and throw the crank to drop the platforms so you can jump into the enclosure. Take the Bazooka inside, then head out on the path that goes south. Blast the shiny barrels at the bottom and throw the switch to raise a bunch of platforms that lead east. Have the Maharajah climb up the vent and throw the switch at the end of the path, which opens the gates. Now, note the 30k switch over there. Smash up stuff and collect studs. Grab a Bazooka and blast the metal chest for a Shovel so you can dig up more stuff, including two shiny rocks that have Spears inside. Throw the Spears plus the one on the rack in the three wall sockets, then climb up, jump across the fires and grab as many studs as you can. Go through the door that should now be open and climb up the steps. Push all the boxes into the trench so that when you turn the crank, all three light beams connect, which extends the ramp to the Treasure. --- Princess Rescue - Entry: Take a character with a sword and throw it at the rope hanging west of the gate to Pankot Palace. TA @ 9k - Should be more than enough just on the south side. Characters: Indiana Jones, British Commander Grab the two Spears with the whip and toss them on the right wall to cross. Use the crank to extend platforms to make a way back. Climb up the ladder and pull the whip switch to open the gate to a Shovel, with which you can dig up shiny rocks that you can blow up with a Bazooka. Take the resulting Wrench and fix the engine to get platforms moving on the left side. Cross these platforms, then climb up the railings to the ledge with Water Bottles and use them to put out the fire. Throw the switch, which opens a gate on the upper level with a button behind it. Stand on that button while the other characters stands on the lower button to get the lift moving to the Treasure. --- Treasure Trap Grab all ten Treasures then head to the southwest area where a pirate ship sits. Arrrr. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mac Not much to say about this one, except that there are probably a lot more than you'll need. ****************************************************************************** 7. THE LAST CRUSADE ****************************************************************************** ================================== 7A. Main Hub/Characters/Vehicles = ================================== Setup - The whole mess begins on a ship in the water, which you'll discover is in the southern part of the area. The southwestern area is Venice, which then connects to Castle Brunwald to the northeast. Further east from that is an enclosed military area meant to represent Berlin. The northern area is the Hatay Region, with mountains surrounding the Temple of the Sun. The only other point of interest is an island in the south just west of the ship, where characters from that mission end up. --- Restricted Areas The beginning puts you on the ship in the water. Once you complete Coronado Caper, you'll end up in Venice, and will be able to access Castle Brunwald, and much of the surrounding area, even a little bit of the desert area at the far north if you don't mind the swim. After Brunwald Blaze, you'll be able to open the Berlin area. Lastly, you'll have the rest of the area open to you once you complete Berlin Brawl and get a Shovel using person. As an added note, there's an awning in western Venice that needs to be blown apart with explosives. Once you do so, pull it down and you'll have a quick means from Venice to the desert area. --- Characters/Vehicles Indiana Jones Sallah Available from the beginning. Elsa Available after Coronado Caper. Coronado Sailor - 25,000 After Coronado Caper, found on the small island at the south end of the map. Gondola - 10,000 After Coronado Caper, you can find this just south of your starting point. Remember that you need a character with a Shovel to paddle this. Venice Speedboat - 25,000 After Coronado Caper, you can find this east of your starting point. Green Speedboat - 25,000 After Coronado Caper, found north of your starting point. Librarian - 20,000 After Coronado Caper, go to Castle Brunwald and smash the bush to the left of the castle doors to find a Key. Use this Key to open the water gate to the west. Now, purchase the Green Speedboat and start the race. With the gate open, you can finish it. Henry Jones Available after Brunwald Blaze. Bike 'n Side - 5,000 After Brunwald Blaze, you're required to buy this to proceed. Army Jeep - 30,000 After buying the Bike 'n Side, run the nearby race to unlock this near the Super Bonus Level. Enemy Guard - 15,000 After Brunwald Blaze, this guy is found outside the castle. Staff Car - 40,000 After purchasing an enemy soldier, use the security hut to the southeast of Brunwald near the road to uncover this. Bazooka Trooper (Crusade) - 30,000 After Berlin Brawl, you'll find this guy in Berlin. Panama Hat Man - 50,000 After you purchase Bazooka Trooper (Crusade), head to the far south island and blast the shiny tree to drop this guy. Biplane - 100,000 After you purchase Bazooka Trooper (Crusade), go the northern desert area and blast the plane's anchor. Turn the crank several times to release the plane. Enemy Pilot - 20,000 After you purchase the Biplane, fly to the southwest to find the race marker. Complete the race and he'll appear in Berlin. Only problem is that you can't get to him until after Cannon Canyon. Then you'll have a book and can open the airport. Enemy Soldier (Machine Gun) - 20,000 After Cannon Canyon, you'll find this soldier in the same area. Tank - 50,000 After Cannon Canyon, this is sitting right in front of the Temple of the Sun. Zeppelin - 100,000 After Cannon Canyon, go to Berlin and use Henry's Book to decipher the heiroglyphs so you can open the airport. Colonel Vogel - 50,000 You need either a Bazooka Trooper or the Tank. After Cannon Canyon, there's a statue to the right of the ruins blocking entry into the Temple of the Sun. Blast that and four more will pop up. Two to the west, one to the north next to the temple, and the last on the ledge to the northeast. You need to blast all of these in a limited time to make Vogel appear. Which of the two you use is up to you. I find the Trooper is slower but he's easier to maneuver. The Tank is faster but you're limited to where you can go. Brody - 25,000 After Trial & Terror, he's walking around in Venice, near the Gondola. Grail Knight - 45,000 After Trial & Terror, he's milling about in front of the temple. Donovan - 500,000 After Trial & Terror, reassemble him in front of the temple. Hatay King - 25,000 After unlocking the Grail Knight, chuck his sword at the camel enclosure rope, then ride a camel through the race to the east. --- Power Bricks Red Bricks - Red Flower Seeds, walk over brown spots to make flowers sprout. You need to find seeds that sprout red flowers. After Coronado Caper: 1: Head northeast of the Beach Pit to find some seeds just south of the road bend. 2: Just northeast of the Super Bonus Level. 3: West of Brunwald, and just east of the river blockade door. 4: Just west of the main gate at Brunwald. 5: Just east of the main gate at Brunwald. 6: Further east of the main gate at Brunwald. 7: Northeast of the eastern gate at Brunwald. 8: Inside the Castle Brunwald walls, on the west side. 9: Inside the Castle Brunwald walls, south of the drawbridge. 10: Inside the Castle Brunwals walls, on the east side. Extra: Score x8 (6,000,000) Green Bricks - Red and White Pylons After Coronado Caper: 1: Right next to the Gondola. 2: Northwest of the Gondola dock. 3, 4, 5: Further west of #2, all together. 6, 7, 8: Near the Venice Library. 9, 10: To the east of the Gondola dock. Extra: Beep Beep (25,000) Blue Bricks - Pink and Blue Lounge Chairs After Coronado Caper: 1, 2: On the west edge of Venice, west of the fountain. 3, 4: The south end of Venice, near the dig spot to Beach Pit. 5: On the small island at the far south end of the map. 6, 7: South of the Super Bonus Level. 8: Northwest of Castle Brunwald. 9, 10: On the north side of the desert area. Extra: Invincibility (1,000,000) ==================== 7B. Story Missions = ==================== Dropping right on the ship, use the whip switch so you come up from the smokestack, then drop down to the right and enter by the door. --- Coronado Caper - TA @ 35k - Three important purples in this one since you'll probably be dying more than once. The first is front and left, quite visible. The second is behind the large stack of crates on the right, and the last is behind a door that PHM will open after you knock off his first heart. Characters - Indiana Jones, Sallah (Fez) Boss Mission Ah yes, the classic battle with Panama Hat Man. If you want to avoid being shot up while you work, I suggest tossing something at PHM to stun him, but it won't reduce his hearts. No, that takes some work. First, smash up the crates in the upper-right corner, including whipping down the hanging crate. Assemble all the myriad pieces together to make a harpoon gun, that gets water on PHM, which is his TRUE weakness, apparently. For the second heart, whip the box behind the door PHM just opened. Smash the crate to reveal a blue thingy. Smash the two green drums to make parts for a spot to place the blue thingy. Now, turn the nearby switch to blow PHM off with a foghorn. He'll reappear on the big stack of crates near some convient dynamite. For the last part, smash up all the objects that are now on the deck to find pieces (and a box), that when assembled will make a crank that will move the overhanging ropes. Whip to the lowest one, then jump to the higher one and land next to the PHM. --- From Venice, start heading east up the road until you reach Castle Brunwald's gate. Have Elsa grab onto the lever on the left side and Indy whip the switch on the right side to enter the castle grounds. Stand on both buttons by the moat and use the whip switch to lower the drawbridge so you can enter. --- Brunwald Blaze - TA @ 26k - Make sure you take the time to do extra little things, like filling up the bookshelves. There's also a nook on the west wall that hides a purple. Characters - Indiana Jones, Henry Jones Exploration Mission Give yourself a second and you'll free yourselves. Whip-swing across to the left, then grab Water Bottles so you can free Henry. At the back of the room is a painting with a familiar face. Assemble the railing nearby, then grab onto with one of the characters to hold open a secret door. Have the other character grab a bladed weapon from one of the racks, go through the door, then cut the rope, which opens a curtain covering a crank that you can use to hold open the door permanently. Now, on this side of the fire, you'll need to put out another patch of LEGO flames which sit in front of a box. Place the box and assemble the ladder. Climb up and push the armor off the edge. Reassemble it at the bottom, then stand on the remaining two buttons, and your way out is clear. --- Purchase the Bike 'n Side, then ride out the east gate, northeast up the road, and drive onto the vehicle button, which will open the gate to the Berlin area. Drive up to the mission. --- Berlin Brawl - TA @ 50k - A tough one. Requires you to die as little as possible. Smash up everything, and make sure you whip all the whip targets at the west and east ends. They'll give you good amounts. Characters - Indiana Jones (Officer), Henry Jones Combat Mission Wave 1 - Five Enemy Guards. Smash and bash. Wave 2 - Four Enemy Guards, Two Enemy Machine Gunners. To beat up the gunners, get an Enemy Guard's pistol. Wave 3 - Two Enemy Machine Gunners, Four Heavy Soldiers. The Heavies (in black) have either rifles or bazookas. You'll need to whip the platform they're standing on to get them. Wave 4 - Four Motorcycles, Four Heavy Soldiers. For the bikes, you'll need some decent firepower, like the Bazookas the Heavies carry. --- You're now over in the north part of the map, in the desert. Dig up the Tank to enter the next mission. --- Cannon Canyon - TA @ 100k - Standard procedure for Vehicles: Find powerups before getting big studs as you get a double and a Stud Magnet with every powerup. There's a big old payoff in the last area, up the hill to the east. Characters - Indiana Jones, Sallah (Fez) Vehicle Mission This one's a bit special in that the Tank will continually open up new areas to explore as you beat waves. That's about it, though. Wave 1 - Two Gunner Jeeps. Dump the animal and grab the nearby cars to start ramming. Wave 2 - Two Gunner Jeeps, Three Trucks. Grab a tan truck and join the fun. Wave 3 - Three Army Jeeps, Three Armored Jeeps. Stay in the truck for this. Wave 4 - Four Army Jeeps. The Tank will start raining death down on you, so stay wary. Wave 5 - The Tank. You need to grab a Mine Layer vehicle, which is a small treaded vehicle. Lay mines in front of the Tank to demolish it. --- Now that Henry has his Grail Diary, you can have Sallah dig out the path to the Temple of the Sun, then have Henry decipher the heiroglyphs on the door and enter. --- Trial & Terror - TA @ 38k - Shouldn't be too difficult. Purples are placed in good locations. Characters - Indiana Jones, Sallah (Fez) Exploration/Boss Mission Hop past the blade traps. Use the whip on the Key and use it on the crank to deactivate the last blades. Dig the pillar to the ground and you'll face off against Donovan. Use the whip switch below him (man takes spike traps surprisingly well), then do the same when he runs to the other side. After two hearts are knocked off, the statues on the tracks will arise. The left one can simply be pushed, but the right one needs a whip to release some pieces. Once both statues are in place, the trap floor will appear. The way across is on the back wall: butterfly, skull, phoenix, grail. In the next room, have each character grab the ropes on the lion statues to create a path. At the end, Donovan will become the Grail Wind Demon thingy. It cannot normally be touched, but the Missile Launchers in the area are a place to start. There are three dig spots for Sallah and two whip switches on the left and right walls for Indy. These all release something shiny metal. Wait for Donovan to suck them up into his whirlwind, then fire to damage him. Once all five metal objects are shot, you've defeated him. ======================= 7C. Treasure Missions = ======================= Crab Cake Confusion - Needed: Sword (Grail Knight), Gun (Enemy Guard) TA @ 29k - Well, there are no enemies to kill you, so the amount of studs is pretty much just enough to reach the total. Shoot the target to the left, and the target far to the south while you're in the water. Switch the Sword guy and hop across the boxes, then throw the Sword at the rope with the balloons, which gets rid of the crab. Continue to the east and throw another Sword at the balloons over the tentacle to get rid of it, then hop to the Treasure. --- Castle Quench - Needed: Explosives (Bazooka Trooper (Crusade)), Female High Jump (Elsa) TA @ 35k - There's a purple behind the center table and another in a nook on the west side. Blast everything in the area. The idea here is to use Water Bottles to put out all the fires. First, to FIND the Water Bottles. Use Elsa to hop up to the upper-right area and grab the box. Head to the left with it and put it next to the closet. Boom. Water Bottles. Douse all ten fires. --- Perilous Parking - Needed: Shovel (Sallah), Wrench (Coronado Sailor) TA @ 18k - Should be juuuust enough to get 18,000. The idea behind this one is to get all your vehicles onto all the vehicle buttons. First, smash up the stuff near the exit to find a Bazooka, then blow up both shiny statues. Grab the motorcycle and drive up the ramps to the left for the first button. The second button requires you to jump on a horse and hop across the low pillars to the right. Fix the truck with your Wrench and drive onto the center button. For the last one, the toughest button, you need to dig up the jeep near the book pile, then jump the nearby ramp over the pile to land on the button and stay there. --- Canyon Quest - TA @ 125k - That big payoff from last time is still there in the last area at the far east. Vehicle missions are about popping ten blue balloons to make the Treasure appear: Balloon 1: On a rock in the first area. Balloon 2: Off a ramp in the second area. Balloon 3: In the west part of the third area, on a ramp. Balloon 4: In the south part of the third area, on a ramp. Balloon 5: In the north part of the third area. Balloon 6: In the northeast part of the third area, on a ramp. Balloon 7: In the west part of the last area. Balloon 8: Also in the west part of the last area. Balloon 9: In the middle of the last area. Balloon 10: Drive to the far east of the last area, then north up the slope to find this one off a ramp back to the third area. Just for your benefit, I'll let you know that the Treasure appears in the third area, in a cave in the middle of the back wall. --- Chalice Challenge - Needed: Whip (Indiana Jones), Sword (Grail Knight) TA @ 25k - There's a purple in the water font under the cage, so be sure to hop into it. The idea here is to find a bunch of chalices and return them to the back wall. There are ten altogether. Chalice 1, 2, 3: Grab the Shovel and dig up the three dig spots. Chalice 4, 5: In the two bushes in the back. Chalice 6, 7: Use the whip switches on either side of the room to drop them. Chalice 8, 9: Use the Sword on the ropes on either side to raise the cage over the font. Chalice 10: Use the whip switch over the font to find the last one. ================== 7D. Bonus Levels = ================== Venice Library - Entry: You need someone with a Book, like Henry Jones after Cannon Canyon. Go to the library in the middle of Venice and decipher the heiroglyphs. TA @ 24k - There are plenty of studs to fine, not to mention a purple on the jump onto the Treasure. Characters: Indiana Jones, Brody Use Brody's book on the heiroglyphs up the stairs which will open the left gate. Go to the right and assemble the push tracks, then push the box to the wall. Jump and roll up to the ledge, then leap out to the rope and snag the whip switch to open the right gate. Now stand on both buttons to raise a platform so you can jump to the Treasure. --- Beach Pit - Entry: You need Sallah, who you can only use in Venice after Berlin Brawl. The southeast beach of Venice has a dig spot, so dig up and assemble a crank so you can open this pit. TA @ 18k - There's a purple in the water to the northeast of the starting point. Characters: Indiana Jones, Elsa Hop up to the top-left with Elsa and turn the crank to raise a platform. Cross and use the whip switch on the back wall near the gate to open it. Hop up to the crank with Elsa, which will release the boulder to the north. Proceed up to that ramp and grab a Sword. Head to the left and toss the Sword at the rope, which will lower a platform so you can go and grab a Spear from the upper ledge. Toss it at the socket on the left so Indy can climb up to the ledge with the whip switch, which lowers another platform so Elsa can reach the Treasure. Alternatively, just use Indy to grab the Spear with his whip and save yourself some time. --- Berlin Airport - Entry: You need someone with a Book, like Henry Jones after Cannon Canyon, and an enemy soldier. Decipher the heiroglyphs in Berlin to open the airport, then use the soldier's security access on the guard hut near the Zeppelin. TA @ 15k - There's a purple behind a pillar where the sword-carrying soldier sits. Characters: Indiana Jones, Sallah Pull the whip switch and climb up the ramp. Dig up the push tracks and push the box to unblock the light beam, then hop down the platforms. In this next area, you'll need to start up three light beams to proceed. The first is started by the nearby switch. For the second, dig up a ladder in the southwest to reach the platform with a sword-carrying soldier. Take the Sword and use it to cut the rope on the far right, which will open up a back area. Take the Spears from that area and the area with the first soldier to stick them in the sockets on the right wall, to climb up to the second switch. For the third switch, go to the back right area and use the whip switch to lower the platforms so you can climb to it. This starts up a fan nearby so float up and turn the crank to raise some platforms to yet another switch. Throw it and platforms above will start moving. Cross the platforms to the left to reach the Treasure. --- Castle Cave - Entry: You need the Biplane or Zeppelin. Fly over Castle Brunwald and parachute down to the roof. Push the green panels together and step on the button to remove the rocks blocking the cave. TA @ 26k - The stud trails on the jumps have a purple in them, as well as several blues, so use them. Characters: Indiana Jones, Henry Jones Decipher the heiroglyphs to open the nearby gate, then punch up the soldier and grab his gun. Shoot the targets in the back wall, which will raise a platform. Go and grab the Sword and use it to cut the rope. Head to the right and grab more guns to shoot three more targets in the back, which will raise another platform to reach the Keys. Take one and use it to open the device on the right. You now have two more targets to shoot. Aim carefully to shoot between the saw blades. After shooting the two targets, hop onto the platform and tug on the whip switch to open the next gate. Jump up to the horses and use them to jump across all the way to the left where the Treasure is. --- Venice Tunnel - Entry: You need someone with a gun. On the road south of Brunwald is a series of three targets. Shoot all three to open a grating in the canal. TA @ 23k - There's a purple hiding in the left corner. Characters: Indiana Jones, Sallah Head to the right and whip the Spear on the wall (near the arrow) and toss it into the socket to the left of the gate. Dig up the push tracks and push the box into position so you can jump to the Spear, then to the left. Turn the crank there to open the gate. Beat up the soldier behind it and take his gun. Shoot the target to get platforms moving and ride them to the bottom of the area to throw a switch to get the rest of the platforms moving. Hop across the platforms to the north end of the area to grab the Treasure. --- Lionheart Once you find all ten Treasures, head to the east end just south of Berlin and assemble what appears to be Mount Rushmore. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt One special thing here: Drive over all the vehicle buttons and a platform will raise in the center to a crank that allows you to go into that big old stud pile in the water. ****************************************************************************** 8. KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL - PART 1 ****************************************************************************** ================================== 8A. Main Hub/Characters/Vehicles = ================================== Setup - This area opens in Marshall College and the surrounding city, which takes up the north corner of the area. Aftewards, the majority of the area will open up, and you can visit the military installation at the south end, as well as explore the rest of the desert area. Extra: Fast Fix (300,000) ==================== 8B. Story Missions = ==================== As we begin, you'll be outside Marshall College. Smash open the nearby blue post box to find a banana. Throw it at the monkey in the nearby tree (target by holding down Square, then release when the crosshair is on the monkey), and you'll get a Key in return. Use it on the nearby device to open the way to the train. --- Hangar Havoc - TA @ 59k - There's a purple near the statue that will help. To get to it, you need to break a crate on top of a button that's near a fan, that you can ride up. Otherwise, smash everything. Characters - Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mac Exploration/Boss Mission Take the nearby box and place it on the green panel so you can hop up to the top of the crates. Use Indy's whip to swing across to the right, then push the box back to the left and off the edge so Mac can assemble the railings and climb up. On the other side, bust up the crates until you find two with a box of pieces, as well as the big one with the statue. Put the boxes on the green panels, then assemble the pieces. Now to activate this guy. Use Mac's pistol to shoot the target on the crate to the right to reveal Staffs of Ra. Take a staff each, stand in the light spot, and press Circle to focus light. Direct it on the yellow dishes and the statue will come to life and make a mess. Assemble the statue pieces to make steps, then take the Water Bottles near the box of Staffs. Throw the bottle where you can bullseye the fire on the boxes to put it out. You need to do this twice before you can hop over. On the other side, smash open a nearby crate to find Spears. Chuck three at the holes on the back wall, then climb up them and push the box off the edge, which will send some metal stuff over to another crate. Now, head to that crate, jump past it and onto the hanging chains. Jump to the right and push the other box of metal parts off the edge. This will reveal the crate you're looking for. Mac will now replaced with Janitor. You're now facing off against Dovchenko, who is chucking grenades at you. Take the jeep and drive it to one of the vehicle buttons to the east. Now, climb up to the top of the large crate with the buttons and stand on one. The AI partner should stand on the other, opening the crate and revealing a Tricycle. Drive it onto the other vehicle button, which will open the gate to the far east, and a switch you can pull. This will lower a nearby ladder. Now, go up to Dovchenko. He'll run away, so chase after him using the chains, then climbing the ladder. Get to him on the scaffolding and he'll jump down onto a glass floor, where you should follow him. You're now facing Dovchenko on top of a rocket engine. What you need to do is whip him to tie him up, then drag him off the engine onto the floor. Have both characters step on the buttons in the back, which will fire up the engine, and is the only way to damage him. Hit him three times to finish. --- Back in the hub, you're trapped in this area, so simply head northeast into the house. --- Doom Town - TA @ 37k - You may think you're cutting it close in this one, but there is a purple in the last room behind the radio. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Janitor Exploration Mission If you haven't seen the movie yet, the idea is to get your hinder into a fridge before the bomb blows. First find two objects to place on the green panels. These will create push plates for the dresser so you can move it aside and throw the switch that opens the gate upstairs. Head upstairs and left into the bathroom. Smash the back wall near the tub to find a whip target, then pull it to find a Key. Put the Key in the device in the hallway and turn it to lower an attic ladder with a whip target. Climb up to the attic, then head left, assemble the box and push it to the end of the track. Jump up and grab the rope to lower a bunch of stuff to the lower level, then drop down yourself. Smash and assemble to put together a red and green pushing panel and stick it on the sliding door to your right. Once outside, grab the box and then drop down to the yard (if you fall first, you can smash the bush near the door and assemble the railing to get back up). Put the box on the panel, then assemble the lawnmower to get it running into the door. Now, use the whip target on the nearby shed, and take the Shovel. Use it to dig up the dig spot in the lower-right corner and grab some Dynamite. Throw it at the big lock on the fridge and get inside. --- You'll end up just west of the diner. Head on inside. --- Cafe Chaos - TA @ 8k - The smallest, yet tough. Make sure you smash up all the stuff near the walls and do it quickly before you die and lose the studs. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Combat Mission Wave 1 - Six Agents. Just pound them. Wave 2 - Three Machine Gun Agents. Either throw stools at them or tie them up with the whip and punch them. If you can grab a gun, it'll all go easier. Wave 3 - Three Machine Gun Agents, Three Agents. Nothing special about this, just go as before. --- Head northwest from the diner to find a motorcycle on a lift. Use Mutt to fix the engine. --- Motorbike Mayhem - TA @ 120k - Vehicle missions have high totals, but there's an easy way to go about it. Find the powerups lying around and you'll get double score AND Stud Magnet for a short amount of time, in addition to whatever the powerup itself gives you. Explore behind and through things for purples. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Vehicle Mission Wave 1 - Three Motorbikes. I would ditch the bike and grab a car, if for no other reason than the fact that bikes fall over a lot. Wave 2 - Two Motorbikes, Two Cars. If you didn't take a car by now, you'll have to for this one, as you can't cause damage with just a bike. Wave 3 - Three Cars, Two Vans. More of the same, really. --- Head east to the train that you took in the beginning. --- Crane Train - TA @ 24k - Since you're operating in a very small area, the only studs you'll need are at the extreme left and right, as well as on the crane itself. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Boss Mission Man, the Russians get all the cool gadgets. First, use Indy to whip to the center whip target, then jump to either the left or right hanging chain. This will disable the crane arm so you can punch it. Continue to disable and punch until all three claws are off each arm. A whip target will fall off the left hand arm, and the right hand arm will be disabled so Mutt can repair it with his wrench. After repairing, stick the whip target on it so Indy can swing out to it and be carried on top of the cabin, where he can drop down and punch the operator in the face. ======================= 8C. Treasure Missions = ======================= Forklift Fun - Needed: Wrench (Mutt), Security Access (General Ross) TA @ 47k - You should have just enough here, including the purple in the last area. The idea here is to build two forklifts to put on the vehicle buttons. Climb up the crates to the left and push the box onto the lift to drop it, then assemble the pieces and fix the forklift. For the other, head to the right and use your security access on the kiosk to open the gate. You need two boxes to put on the two green panels. One is up a ladder to the left, and the other is on top of some crates to the right. Assemble the forklift and drive both on the buttons, then grab the Treasure. --- Dummy Run - Needed: Wrench (Mutt), Shovel and Security Access (Russian Digger) TA @ 37k - You need the purple that's in the kitchen. It's near the door to the hallway, behind the counter. Even then, this is a tough number to hit. Try to catch every falling stud and take out the dummies as soon as possible. First use the security hut with the Digger, then dig up the dig spot in the southeast corner. Put the box and gears on the machine, then fix it, then ZOMBIE ATTACK! Assemble the the ladder to climb up to the veranda, then into the next room. Drop down into the kitchen, then move left through the house to the living room. Assemble the couches and bounce up to the bathroom. Destroy the tub in the back and climb the rope that results from it, then move east to grab the Treasure. --- Diner Distraction - Needed: Wrench (Mutt), Female High Jump (Mannequin (Girl)) TA @ 20k - Shouldn't be difficult, just smash everything. It's rat patrol! You need to bust up everything in the diner and find ten rats and smash them up. Once you smash up all ten, you'll get the Treasure. You'll need the female character to reach the railing in back with the three blues on it, which opens a compartment. Also, you'll need to use Mutt to fix the jukebox, and then find two records to put into it, which you'll discover by smashing. --- Bike Hike - TA @ 135k - Pretty simple run. Vehicle missions are about popping ten blue balloons to make the Treasure appear: Balloon 1: On the center vertical street, off the ramp. Balloon 2: On the south horizontal street, west side, off a ramp. Balloon 3: On the north horizontal street, west side, off a ramp. Balloon 4: On the east vertical street, on scaffolding. Balloon 5: On the north horizontal street, east side, on a ramp that goes into the park. Balloon 6: In the park, west side, on a ramp leading back to the street. Balloon 7: In the park, west side, on a ramp just south of the library. Balloon 8: Out the window in the library. Balloon 9: In the park, in the passage beneath the clock tower. Balloon 10: In the park, west side, on a ramp leading back to the east side. --- Target Training - Needed: Gun (Mac), Female High Jump (Mannequin (Girl)) TA @ 40k - Just grab all four purples hanging above you. That's what you need the Female High Jump for. All you really need to do here is take Mac's gun and shoot all the targets on the back train in order. I think you may need to do one shot per target without missing. ================== 8D. Bonus Levels = ================== Marshall College - Entry: You need Stanforth and his Book. Decode the heiroglyphs at the college door. TA @ 14k - Make sure to drop down on the left and grab the four blues, then jump over the deadly vent so you don't get caught. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Stanforth Once you bust up the Agents in the area, ride up the fan, then whip swing over to the left. Push the box off the edge, then have Stanforth jump up so both characters can step on the buttons, which gets the platforms moving. Jump up the platform and smash the Agents to grab the Water Bottle. Ride the platforms to the right and throw the bottle at the fire. Throw the switch and ride up the platform. Take the Sword from one of the Agents and throw it at the rope in the center area. Grab the Bazooka (near the TV) and bust open the metal chests, then use the whip on the switch to extend a ramp so you can reach the Treasure. --- Gas Station - Entry: Take any ground vehicle and drive it on the vehicle button in front of the gas station. TA @ 30k - Get both sets of blue and green balloons to access a nice pile of studs. Still, you can get a heavy amount just from the bushes. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mac Grab the cars and run the course. The balloons are just for the studs. All you have to do is reach the end to get the Treasure. --- Doom Town House 2 - Entry: You need a Female High Jumper. Go to the south of the Doom Town area and hop over the tall fence and enter the house. TA @ 50k - A patient exploration should hit the amount easily enough. There are three purples, one on top of the back left wall, another between the two trampolines, and a third near the fridge, hidden by the front wall. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Brawler Smash up the plants behind the fence and grab the Key to open the door to the left. Inside the living room, find a Sword to cut the rope on the left, then climb up and throw the switch to open the next door. In the kitchen, head to the back and grab the Shovel on the way out. Dig in the back center spot to find a Bazooka. Take the Bazooka and blast the metal chest blocking the light beam in the living room. Now, take a Tricycle and place it on the vehicle button. Hop up to the Treasure. --- Interrogation Room - Entry: You need Mutt. Use his Wrench in the military base, on the engine near the bunker. TA @ 40k - Most of it is down in the lava pit, but there are also some behind the front wall. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), General Ross Use the whip to swing across to the right side, then throw the switch so the general can cross. Bust open the boxes with Ross' Bazooka to find a Key, then use it on the nearby device to get the nearby platforms moving. Cross the platforms, then whip across to the left. Throw the switch on this side to get another platform moving which allows General Ross to fire on the target at the end of the alcove, which will open a door way back at the beginning. Grab the car behind it and drive it over to the vehicle button, then throw the switch to drop the lava. You can now grab the Treasure. --- Hangar 52 - Entry: You need to have purchased the Sabre Jet. Drop down into the fenced-in military base and you'll find the hangar inside. TA @ 40k - The upper right corner has a purple to snag. That's all there really is to say about this one. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Janitor First, use the whip switch to open the gate to the right. Assemble the nearby push tracks and move the box to the end so you can jump up to the ledge to swing across to the box full of Torches. Use it on the barrels of TNT. This uncovers a button which turns on the nearby fan. You can now ride up to the Water Bottles, so throw one on the fire, then throw the switch to open the back gate. Turn the crank to raise the platform. You can ride up the fan, then whip swing across to the right and flip the switch. --- Space Rocket Assemble the ten Treasures near Doom Town to make the rocket, then climb in to reach this Super Bonus Level. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Collect one million studs. Points of interest include the soccer thing in the southwest corner, the purples on top of the fire station, the ladder leading on top of the east house. ****************************************************************************** 9. KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL - PART 2 ****************************************************************************** ================================== 9A. Main Hub/Characters/Vehicles = ================================== Setup - You'll begin at the north edge of the map, where there's an airstrip and a Peruvian market to the west. Just south of that is the hospital. Further beyond the hospital is a graveyard/catacomb area. Further past that is a land bridge leading over a rushing river. The river itself runs from the northeast corner falls to a basin near the center, where there's a giant LEGO man Nazca drawing. Southeast of all that is a Soviet base camp, and a couple of other clearings. Southwest of the camp is a path split that leads to a jungle and beach to the south, and to an huge ant colony to the north. --- Restricted Areas You'll first be confined to just the airstrip area leading up to the hospital. After Peru Cell Perusal, you'll be on the other side where you can open the way back to the airstrip, but can't proceed too far into the jungle without running into ants. After Tomb Doom, you'll have a crystal skull which will allow you to explore up to the Soviet camp and buy the Jungle Cutter which will give you the privilege of taking down the trees in your way. After Rainforest Rumble, you'll be able to explore the rest of the southern portion of the area. --- Characters/Vehicles Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull) Mutt Available from the beginning Bus - 15,000 Available from the beginning, sitting near the airstrip. Motorbike - 20,000 Available from the beginning, to the east of the airstrip. Patient - 15,000 Purchase the Motorbike, then complete the nearby Motorbike race to unlock this. Jungle Cutter - 5,000 Required to buy after Mac Attack. Use Marion to hop up to the rocks to get the box needed to finish it. Market Trader - 20,000 After purchasing the Jungle Cutter, take it northeast of the camp, then southeast. After mowing down a solitary tree, several more will spring up. Raze them all to make this guy appear. Russian Officer - 30,000 Army Jeep - 30,000 Available after Rainforest Rumble, just outside the mission's entrance. Nazca Racer - 25,000 Nazca Drifter - 25,000 After buying the Russian Officer, go to the north of the camp and blast the rocks blocking the path up to the top of the waterfall. Grab the nearby Shovel and ride the raft down the river race to unlock these. Russian Grenadier - 30,000 After buying either the Nazca Racer or Nazca Drifter, run the race in the area to unlock this guy. Biplane - 250,000 After buying the Russian Officer, blast the chains holding the plane down at the airport. Peru Nurse - 25,000 After buying the Biplane, go to the west to find the plane race. Complete it and she'll appear at the airport. Cemetery Warrior King - 20,000 Available after Dovchenko Duel, near Tomb Doom. Dovchenko - 500,000 After Dovchenko Duel, bring a shovel to the mission's area and dig him up. Bicycle - 7,000 After finding all ten Treasures, you'll have access to this. --- Power Bricks Red Bricks - Red Spiders sitting on rocks. From the beginning: 1: Right near the motorbike racetrack. 2: East of the Biplane. After Peru Cell Perusal: 3: Just east of the hospital exit. 4: Northeast of Tomb Doom. 5: Just west of the Nazca drawing. 6: Just east of the Nazca drawing. After Tomb Doom: 7: Just east of Mac Attack. After Mac Attack: 8: Take the Jungle Cutter northeast of the camp, then southeast to a large clearing. 9: Drive the Jungle Cutter southwest of the camp and you'll stumble over this one. After Rainforest Rumble: 10: Just east of Rainforest Rumble. Extra: Score x4 (3,000,000) Green Bricks - Desert Plants with Purple Flowers that sprout when you hit them. From the beginning 1: At the west end, in the little market near the hospital. 2: East of Tomb Doom. After Peru Cell Perusal: 3: On the ledge southeast of the Nazca drawing. 4: West of the Nazca drawing. 5: East of the Nazca drawing. After Tomb Doom: 6: Just west of Mac Attack. After Mac Attack: 7: Take the Jungle Cutter northeast of the camp, then southeast to a large clearing. 8: Go northeast of the camp, then south to find a small path which leads to the Temple Tussle bonus level. The plant's right outside its door. 9: Go northeast of the camp, then north up the steep path to find this one near the shiny rocks. After Rainforest Rumble: 10: Go southeast of the entrance to Rainforest Rumble to find this. Extra: Silhouettes (20,000) Blue Bricks - Tool Boxes From the beginning: 1: East of the Biplane. Just use the nearby whip switch to drop it. After Peru Cell Perusal: 2: In the pit where you find the Tomb Doom level, right next to the entrance. After Tomb Doom: 3: Just east of Mac Attack, use the whip switch on the bird cage to free it. After Mac Attack: 4: Go northeast of the camp, then south down a small path to find a skull structure. Find the Key nearby and use it to drop this box. 5: Drive the Jungle Cutter southwest of the camp and you'll stumble over this one. 6: Go southwest of the camp until you hit the beach. Use the whip on the shed at the east end to find a Shovel, then dig this one up nearby. After Rainforest Rumble: 7: Go southeast of Rainforest Rumble to find a beach. Throw a switch there to pull this one out of the water. 8: Go southeast of Rainforest Rumble to find a plane wreck. Have Mutt fix the propeller and ride up to this one. After Dovchenko Duel: 9: You need to drive into rocks at the Nazca drawing. The one in particular you need to break is the one by its foot. While this is more easily done with the Nazca Racer/Drifter, you can also do it with the Jungle Cutter by driving it through the trees to the south via the ant swarm. After Purchasing Russian Officer: 10: Northeast of the camp is a path leading north to a shiny pile of rocks. Blast them away, then bring Marion to jump up the marked ledges to this one. Extra: Fast Dig (300,000) ==================== 9B. Story Missions = ==================== Start by heading to the left and down to find the hospital. --- Peru Cell Perusal - TA @ 30k - A pretty tough threshold, but there's a purple hidden behind the front wall on the right side of Oxley's cell. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Exploration Mission Have Mutt fix the blue engine in the back, which makes the rope work. One character holds down the rope while the other goes through the gate and pushes the nearby box under the gate to hold it up. To get into Oxley's cell, you'll need a Key, which a Patient just happens to have, but if you get close, he'll grab it and run back to his cell. The trick is to wait at a distance until he puts it outside, then to whip it to grab it. Place it and open the cell. You now need to find three clumps of pieces to make Oxley's map. For the first clump, smash up the toilets to find a button, which will lower a stone pillar. Have one character on the button, and the other on the pillar to push off the box with the first clump. Next, jump off Oxley's bed and onto the window sill with the whip target, then place it and use it. For the last clump, assemble the railing on the right side of the room, then climb across to the fan vent, which will blow out the last set of pieces. Assemble them all. --- Head to the east and push the object so you can open a way back to the beginning. Now, go further east, whip open the shed, and grab the Shovel. Head south to the dig site and dig up all the spots so you can enter the next mission. --- Tomb Doom - TA @ 60k - There's a rather obvious alcove partway in that has a purple in the back. Once you begin the chase, you'll see another two purples rather obviously in your path. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Exploration Mission Head down to the right and use the whip target on the right-hand wall to open the way further in. Hop past the vine in the tunnel and smash the stuff for a Shovel, then drop down to the bottom. Use the whip to open the back wall in the next room, then have Mutt fix the engine, which opens the door to your left. Use the Shovel to dig up the skull idol, then bring it down the ramp and place it on the circular platform. There's another on the back wall in this room, and when both are placed, a vine drops so you can cross to the next room. In this room, you'll need to place three shield objects on the green panels. The first two are right nearby, in the coffins, but the third is high up on the wall. To get to it, you need to smash another vault where you'll find a Spear. Toss it on the hole so you can climb up to the coffin. Place all three shield objects to find the Crystal Skull. Now, you need to chase after the Cemetary Warrior King to get the skull back. Time your movements past the spike traps, then hop over the spike pits. Follow him all the way back to the entrance, where you'll need to repeatedly punch him until he drops the skull. Take it and leave by the entrance. --- For the time being, Indy now has a Crystal Skull. Head southeast across the rock bridge and walk through the ants and pick up the plunger. Set it down on the detonator and step on it to blow up the rocks. You can now proceed south to the enemy camp and the next mission. --- Mac Attack - TA @ 18k - Take a quick explore before you do any serious fighting. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt, Marion (Crystal Skull) Combat Mission Wave 1 - Six Soldiers. Get to beatin'. Wave 2 - Six Russian Machine Gunners. Whip them off the platform that they stand on. Wave 3 - Eight Russian Machine Gunners. These ones just drop right in front of you as they attack. Wave 4 - Mac, and he comes with support. Just punch him whenever you can get close. Use the whip switch to drop the rifleman off the bridge. --- Use Marion to jump up to the rocks on the right and take the box. Use the box to reassemble and purchase the Jungle Cutter. Now take it southwest through the trees, then east along the path to automatically go to the next mission. --- Rainforest Rumble - TA @ 150k - I think this is the toughest vehicle mission, as a lot of the high count studs are hidden away from powerups, making doubling difficult, and the Jungle Cutter's not very manueverable, but nothing else can cut through trees as efficiently. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Oxley Vehicle Mission Wave 1 - Four Gunner Jeeps. Simply use the Cutter to mow them down. Wave 2 - Three Gunner Jeeps, One Truck. Again, Cutter. Wave 3 - Six Gunner Jeeps. They're on the east side of the jungle. To get there, you have to take the Cutter west, then south, then east and cut down all the trees in front of the jump. Now, take the Cutter out of there and grab a car or something and jump the gap, after which you can resume ramming bad guys. Wave 4 - Jungle Cutter. Only thing that takes down a Cutter is another Cutter, so hop back over and find the one you left behind and demolish your adversary. --- Take Oxley and his Crystal Skull over to the ant pile to the northwest, but first, grab the banana just west of it. Head through the ants and toss the banana at the monkey above the pit, who will toss you a Key to the nearby crank to raise the pit so you can move on. --- Dovchenko Duel - TA @ 50k - Just walk around and you'll collect the required amount, found in purples. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Boss Mission Technically, Oxley is also along for the ride, but he just wanders around with the skull, keeping the ants at bay. Anyway, ANTS. Lots of them. Beat up Dovchenko and watch as he becames the ANT MONSTER, or something. What you need to do to beat the construct is to stop the flow of ants. Specifically grab some orange cones and place them on the ant hills that are spewing out ants. Once you place them, Dovchenko will attack you again, so keep punching him. After you drain his hearts again, the construct will reappear, so now you have to plug up more holes. Use the cones you get from whipping the truck on the far east side and from fixing the engine on the far west side. After a while, you'll just see clusters of ants carrying them around, so use those. Keep plugging holes and punching Dovchenko until they're beaten. Oh, and the "ant shark"? Best thing ever. ======================= 9C. Treasure Missions = ======================= Musical Mania - Needed: Whip (Indiana Jones), Explosives (Russian Officer) TA @ 20k - The purple high up in Oxley's cell is essential for this one. It's a tough jump to reach it, too, but you have to leap from the bed to the stone pillar to get there. The objective here is to push all five buttons at once, and you'll need some Patients to help you. Blast the device and assemble it to open all the prison gates. Now, head east to Oxley's cell. Use the Shovel to dig under the pillar to get one piece, then pick up two other pieces in the cell and place them in the right corner to make a gramaphone. Smack it to start the music. The patients will now stop and dance. This makes it easier to snag them with the whip and drag them on top of the buttons. Once you have three placed, use your two characters on the last two. --- Tomb Time - Needed: Crystal Skull (Oxley), Explosives (Russian Officer) TA @ 50k - Two purples in the alcove, same place as last time. "Time" is the operative word here. The objective is to push four buttons in a certain amount of time to lower the ladder to the Treasure. First, blow up the crate to uncover one. Now, take Oxley. The four buttons are: down in the pit to the left, on the ledge to the left, where that crate was a second ago, and down by the door on the right side. That's the order you need to hit them in before any reset. --- Mirror Mayhem - Needed: Crystal Skull (Oxley), Explosives (Russian Officer) TA @ 17k - Much like your first time here, studs are not in short supply. Blast the nearby crate and place the dish on the idol. Blast the chains in the back holding up the bridge, then cross as Oxley and throw the switch. Follow the beam and blow up the next metal box to find pieces for the next idol. For the next idol, have Oxley go north through the ants and grab the dish for it. Now, blast the metal chest at the back left end near the statues, which will drop a Key that Oxley can use on the crank under the statues. Blast open the gate and take the Treasure. --- Forest Forage - TA @ 170k - Just make sure to find the nooks on the extreme edges of the map. Vehicle missions are about popping ten blue balloons to make the Treasure appear: Balloon 1: As you drive west, bear north to find a stud trail that leads up to this one. It's about the center of the map on the northern edge. Balloon 2: Drive west until you reach a drop-off. Use a Jump powerup to catch this one. Balloon 3: In the northwest corner is a small path that goes back around some trees. The balloon is there. Balloon 4: At the far western edge, near a ledge. Balloon 5: At the south end, the jump over the river that you take to reach the eastern parts. Balloon 6: At the far eastern edge, drive to the southeast corner and then north past the crash barriers. Balloon 7: In the southeast area, on the path that drives just north of the cliff ledge. Balloon 8: In the southeast area, on the path that drives just north of the cliff ledge. Balloon 9: From the southern central area, jump off the ramp to the north. Balloon 10: From the northeast corner, jump off the ramp to the west. --- Jungle Jump - Needed: Crystal Skull (Oxley), Explosives (Russian Officer) TA @ 40k - Big studs everywhere. This shouldn't be a problem. Use the Russian Officer to blow up the metal crate, and the metal chest at the end of this course. Use Oxley to make the jumps, just so a fall doesn't kill you. ================== 9D. Bonus Levels = ================== Peru Airport - Entry: You need a soldier. Use the security hut near the airstrip to open the door. TA @ 25k - Not much to be said here. Just search the front walls. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Russian Officer Blast the metal chest near the light beam to find a Shovel. Use it to dig up the push tracks so you can move the box out of the way of the light beam and get up to the ledge to reach the box of Keys. Take a Key, use it on the lock to the south, then push the box again to unblock this light beam. You can now go to the back of the room and pull the whip switch to lower a platform to the east. Continue east to the other side of the room, then blast the metal chest to get a Sword. Use it to cut the rope in the back of the room, then dig up the push tracks and push the box so you can reach the top of the room. Turn the crank to raise the water level, then swim wouth to the Treasure. --- Peruvian Market - Entry: You need Marion to go to the northwest corner market and jump up to the lever which will open the door. TA @ 20k - Purple in the lava pit on the far left side for your consideration. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Grab a gun from the box. This one's about shooting, so let's start by going to the right. Use the two whip switches to uncover two targets. Shoot those as well as the four behind the elevators. Turn the crank at the far right edge to get rid of the lava, then enter the pit on the left side and turn the crank to lower the ramps blocking the targets. Also, bounce up on the trampoline on the left to find Water Bottles for the fire. For the TNT barrels, use your whip on the right side to grab a Torch, then blow them up. Shoot all the now uncovered targets to open the way to the Treasure. --- Graveyard Tomb - Entry: You need the Russian Officer. Go to the ruins east of Tomb Doom and blast down the shiny skull door. TA @ 20k - Stay out of the quicksand as much as possible. Most all of your studs should be in view, though. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Turn the crank and use the whip switch to your left. Hop over the platforms to the northwest and grab the Sword from the enemies. Use it to sever the rope and whip swing across to the right. Hop up the steps to the north and turn the crank to allow Mutt to proceed. Have Mutt fix the engine to the northeast so you can hit the next switch, then hop across the platforms to the south. Hit another switch so you can hop across these platforms and reach the Treasure. --- Temple Tussle - Entry: You need a Cemetery Warrior. Any time after Mac Attack, go northeast from the camp, then southeast and look for a small path southwest. Follow it to the end to find the entrance. Throw Spears at either side and pull on them to enter. TA @ 28k - Make sure you take advantage of the lowered lava to hunt for studs. Also, there's a purple high on the upper-left side that you'll need Water Bottles to get to. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Head straight north and turn the green crank to lower the lava. Have Mutt fix the two engines to open the door to the box of Keys. Grab one, then head back south and turn the other crank to raise two platforms. Let's head left first. Smash the bad guys, reassemble the push tracks, push the box, and jump up to the crank for the Key and turn it. Next, head right, use the whip switch, and bounce up to the switch. Throw it, and you should be able to reach the Treasure now. --- Gorge in the Jungle - Entry: After Rainforest Rumble, go southeast with Indy. Once you find the temple, use the whip to grab the small idol sitting high on the ledge, then place it on the bigger idol to open the way. TA @ 20k - Straight south against the front wall is a purple. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mac Have Mac shoot up the snakes, then head west. Grab a Shovel in the corner and use it to dig up and assemble the push tracks. Push the box against to end of the tracks. Now, go east, swing across the rope and grab a Bazooka. Go back to the box and hop over the fire. Use Indy to pull the whip switch so the platform lowers, then jump over and blast the metal chest to find a Sword. Use it to sever the rope on the right side to start the buzzsaws moving so Mac can shoot the target. This will get an elevator moving, so ride up and throw the switch so you can reach the Treasure. --- Bike Fright Once you find all ten Treasures, assemble the pod on the water in the south corner, then buy the Bicycle and ride it onto the fan to be blown up to the Super Bonus Level. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt This one's kinda intersting, as you have to get 400,000 before you can go to the upper area, but that's about it. Just make sure you have enough speed to make the jump. ****************************************************************************** 10. KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL - PART 3 ****************************************************************************** =================================== 10A. Main Hub/Characters/Vehicles = =================================== Setup - Beginning again at the north end, in the jungle, this area is actually a rather complicated maze of paths, with a river running almost through the entirety going mostly north to south. Ruins and temples dot the area. Of particular note is the Temple of Akator situated roughly in the center of the map, where the latter three missions take place. --- Restricted Areas In the beginning, you're blocked by a gate to the east and ants to the west. After Repair Scare, you'll be able to pass through the ants and out to the southwest, leading right to River Ruckus. After that, the rest of the area is open to you, save the Akator area, which progressively opens up as you complete the third and fourth missions. --- Characters/Vehicles Indiana Jones Marion Mac Mutt Oxley Available from the beginning Car Boat - 5,000 After Repair Scare, required to advance. Soldier - 15,000 After Repair Scare, found near that entrance. Russian Officer - 30,000 After River Ruckus, run the Car Boat race just south of where you end up. Jungle Jeep - 30,000 After River Ruckus, you can find this at the south end, near the entrance to Treasure Room. Russian Machine Gunner - 20,000 Ice Cream Truck - 30,000 After you buy the Jungle Jeep, run the nearby race. Civilian Jeep - 20,000 After River Ruckus, some ways west of the giant spaceship. Blue Motorbike - 15,000 After River Ruckus, in the northwest corner. Green Motorbike - 15,000 After River Ruckus, in the southwest corner. Ugha Warrior - 20,000 After Temple Tangle, head to the southwest ruins. Ugha Digger - 15,000 After Temple Tangle, go to the right of the ziggurat to find a skull idol. Smack it to raise up five other idols. The first is back near the waterfall to the left. The second is further east along the path. The third is further east still. Ride up the flower to reach it. Head further right and up the ladder to the fourth one, then make a large jump to the left (might need Marion) to reach the last. Ugha Assassin - 30,000 After Ugha Struggle, outside their temple. Agent Spalko - 1,000,000 After Akator Ambush, reassemble her outside the Akator temple. Ugha King - 20,000 Once you buy Agent Spalko and the Ugha Digger, go to the raft that's up the river west of the giant spaceship. Cut the rope, then hop on as the Digger and paddle down the raft race. If you win, he'll appear by the temple. UFO Ride - 250,000 After Akator Ambush, this can be found in the southeast corner. Interdimensional Being - 1,500,000 Once you buy the UFO, ride it to the west to find the race marker, then complete the race. --- Power Bricks Red Bricks - Whip Flowers From the beginning: 1: Just west of Repair Scare. After River Ruckus: 2: The far southeast, near the UFO Ride area. You'll need to bring a box of ladder parts there if you're coming from the bottom. 3: In a mid-west area, right near the bonus level Digger's Delight. 4: Southwest of the giant spaceship. 5: In the northeast corner, down the trail a bit from the vehicle button. 6: In the west area, just north of the green lit-up platform. 7: In the midwest area, where the two branches of river meet. 8: In the southwest corner, near the Green Motorbike. 9: Get in the water at the south end, then travel west to find a ledge with this on it. 10: South of the giant spaceship, over the wall near the lake. Extra: Score x10 (8,000,000) Green Bricks - Tongue Idols After River Ruckus: 1: In the southeast corner, ride up the yellow flower up to the ledge. Smash the wall, then assemble the idol. 2: In the southwest corner, in the middle of a stone circle. 3: In the east area, near the giant spaceship. 4: Just west of #3, in the middle of a stone circle. 5: Just west of #4. Drive a vehicle into the stone vault to smash it up. 6: On the west side, just south of the green lit-up platform, inside a stone vault that you'll need to drive a vehicle into. 7: In the midwest area, downstream from the raft race. 8: On an island in the middle of the lake. 9: Get in the water at the south end, then travel west to find a ledge. Ride up the yellow flower to the idol. After Ugha Struggle: 10: Take Oxley into the ant pile downhill from the Akator temple. Extra: Snake Whip (250,000) Blue Bricks - Golden Urn After River Ruckus: 1: From the north end, jump down the rope in front of the Cave Capers bonus level, then jump across the branches to the right. 2: In the west area, just north of the green lit-up platform. 3: In the southwest area, rather obviously on a jet of water. Place the nearby whip switch on the device and pull it so you can reach the urn. 4: Southwest of the giant spaceship, past the water, is a windup bird thing. Turn it to release the urn. 5: On the island in the middle of the lake. Smack the contraption near the water to raise the urn. 6: Southeast of #5, smack the pedestal to knock the urn off. 7: In the southeast corner. From the lake above, drop off the water and grab the rope so you can lower yourself to the urn. After Temple Tangle: 8: To the southeast of the temple on a ledge. It might be possible to hit this with a gun from the lower level. After Ugha Struggle: 9: To the left of said mission is a small idol. Carry it up the stairs to the right with Oxley and place it on the pedestal. 10: On top of the Akator temple. To get there, you need to purchase an Ugha Warrior and throw his Spears at the sockets. Have Marion climb up on top of the pillar they're on, then leap over to the urn. Extra: Fearless (1,000,000) ===================== 10B. Story Missions = ===================== Head straight to the right and into the mission. --- Repair Scare - TA @ 30k - There's a purple behind the hanging cage, and another one behind the plants near the monkey. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt, Oxley Exploration Mission The point of this mission is to repair the duck (the car boat). You'll need three boxes of parts to do this. Box #1: Head east and use Indy to pull the whip switch on the rocks. Have Oxley reassemble the rocks into steps to reach it. Box #2: Grab a Bazooka from the box and use it to blow up the shiny rocks to release ants. Now, have Oxley punch the palm trees nearby to drop a banana to toss to the monkey to get the Key. Use it on the bridge to repair it. The box is on the other side of the bridge. Box #3: From where you found the last box, climb up a vine to the upper rocks. Go east and use Indy's whip on the switch, then have Mutt fix the blue winch with the cage. Have Oxley grab the box and place it. --- Head to the west, buy the Car Boat you just made and head on through the rocks. --- River Ruckus - TA @ 250k - The highest total, but it's pretty easy, as there are powerups and high count studs everywhere. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Vehicle Mission Wave 1 - Four Gunner Jeeps. Smash them with your duck. Wave 2 - Two Gunner Jeeps, Three Car Boats. Smash them the same. Wave 3 - Two Car Boats, One Armored Car Boat. No differences here. --- You've now been deposited down river. The next area is behind the whip switch to your right. --- Temple Tangle - TA @ 25k - Nothing big, but if you're strapped at the end, head straight towards the screen from the middle to find a few extra blues. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Marion (Crystal Skull) Boss Mission You need to find two skulls to put on the two skeletons in the middle room. First Skull: Head west, watching out for trapped pressure plates. Have Marion leap up to the switch that raises the platform. Stand Indy on the platform and then have Marion flip the switch again to send him across. Have Indy whip the switch on the back wall, and then change all the switches so that the bottom matches the top. Have Marion throw the lever at the end and the compartment with the skull will open. Carry it back to the middle and place it. Second Skull: Head east, again watching out for traps. Whip across the pit further east, then assemble the push tracks and push both statues into the back wall. Take the Key that was uncovered and use it on the nearby lock to extend a walkway for Marion. Now, head further east and pick up the gold dish near the next set of traps. Place it on the green pedestal, then push the red/green panel to turn it. Now, just run to the far right wall and jump onto the chain to to reflect the light beam and open the alcove to the skull. With both skulls found, the Ugha King will attack. Note from the cutscene that he's not a fan of spikes, so whip him and drag him into the spike traps to the right. Do this three times to finish the area. --- Head through the now open pass and into the temple. --- Ugha Struggle - TA @ 20k - Most of the junk around the grounds should be enough to put you close to the threshold, but if you're strapped, you can always check the left and right walls as you climb for a few extra. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Marion (Crystal Skull), Mutt Combat Mission Wave 1 - Six Ugha Warriors. They have Spears, but don't fret. Wave 2 - Six Ugha Warriors. Second verse, same as the first. Wave 3 - Four Ugha Assassins, Four Ugha Spear Throwers. Once you climb up the stairs, the Assassins will attack you head on, while the Spear Throwers will be just out of range. Either throw their own Spears back at them or Go to the left or right ledges to find some. Wave 4 - Two Ugha Spear Throwers. Two Ugha High Priests. The Spear Throwers are as normal, but to take out the High Priests, you'll need to go to the left and use the whip switch, then go to the right and have Marion jump to the vine. --- Now that you have Oxley again, take him to up the stairs to the ants. Bash the object to the left to drop a Key, then place it in the lock so you can climb the stairs. At the top, use the whip switches, tug on the bars, and shoot and punch out the stones to remove the sand weight and enter. --- Akator Ambush - TA @ 30k - There are two purples just to your right as you begin. Try not to die too much before you hit the threshold, naturally. If you don't die at all, you'll hit it with the studs in the second area. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Marion (Crystal Skull) Boss Mission Personally, I think it's very sweet that Indy and Marion end up fighting two bosses together throughout the course of this game. Not enough games have couples fighting side by side like that. ANYWAY, it's Super Spalko! The idea here is to push buttons. As Spalko slams the chunk of stone down, step on both buttons. Do this for each of her four chunks of stone. For the second part, first have Indy whip to the underside of one of the platforms, then drop onto one of the buttons. After that, have Marion step on the other button of the same platform. Continue this until three are gone, then the last platform will dip low enough so Indy can just jump on it. For the final part, grab either of the Missile Launchers in the room and fire when Spalko grabs a rock. I think it only works when her right hand grabs the rock from above, but I'm not sure. Anyway, five hits and that'll suck Spalko out of existence. Yay! ======================== 10C. Treasure Missions = ======================== Campfire Countdown - Needed: Female High Jump, Sword (Agent Spalko), Whip (Indiana Jones) TA @ 20k - There are a fair number of blues near the south end of the area that you wouldn't normally see. Use them and try not to sink into the muck too much. The deal here is that you need to light ten fires. To do this, you need to find ten bundles of kindling, and ten Torches to light them with. Here we go! Oh, as a note to begin, I was never able to jump straight across the bridge, even with Spalko. A much simpler way is to go up to the rock on the west side and jump across from there. Six torches are very easily accessed. There are three on the east wall, one just west of the starting point, another on the south end of the bridge, and the sixth in the southwest corner. Let's address the other four: Torch #7: Use the whip switch on the far west side to move the idol blocking this one Torch #8, #9: Once you cross the quicksand river, these are on ground level. Torch #10: High up on the back rock. Throw a Sword at the rope to the left of it to make a platform you can climb up to. Kindling #1: Right by the entrance. Kindling #2: In the southeast corner is a pile of rubble which will make kindling when smashed and assembled. Kindling #3: High on the rock on the east side. Spalko can get up to it. Kindling #4: After using the whip switch for Torch #7, a bundle will also be uncovered. Kindling #5: Assemble the pulled-down idol mentioned in Torch #7 into a step so Spalko can jump up to it. Kindling #6: Once on the other side of the mud, turn the crank to fix the bridge, then carry the box back across to the green panel. Kindling #7: Once across the bridge as Indy, use the Whip on the Shovel in the muck, then dig up the nearby dig spot. Kindling #8: There's another dig spot closer to the entrance. Kindling #9, #10: Both of these are on the northern rock. Get there when you go for Torch #10. --- Riverside Rush - TA @ 250k - Like always, powerups and big motherlodes help a lot. Check under the waterfalls. Vehicle missions are about popping ten blue balloons to make the Treasure appear: Balloon 1: At the far west end alcove. Balloon 2: Above the water near the western waterfall. Jump up to it. Balloon 3: Behind the western waterfall. Balloon 4: Below the eastern waterfall. Balloon 5: Behind the eastern waterfall. Balloon 6: Further down river from the eastern waterfall. Balloon 7: In the hollowed-out log over the river. Balloon 8: At the south end of the river, where it falls. Balloon 9: Near the northeastern path. Balloon 10: At the very far east end. --- Trick or Treasure - Needed: Gun (Mac), Sword (Agent Spalko) TA @ 50k - Just like the original, check the south end for studs. There are purples at the very west AND east end. This one's kinda fun. There are boxes all over the place. Five have emeralds inside. The rest have Ughas. You need to find the emeralds to make the Treasure appear. Emerald #1: Just left of the entrance, throw Spalko's Sword at the rope above it. Emerald #2: South of the entrance, shoot the target. Emerald #3: The east area, on the second set of floor traps. Shoot the target. Emerald #4: The west area, on the first set of floor traps. Shoot the target. Emerald #5: The west area, the only one at the far end that needs to be shot. --- Tie Up High Up - Needed: Whip (Indiana Jones), Explosives (Russian Officer) TA @ 30k - Most of the studs are quite obvious. The ground level has a ton of them, too. The term "tie up" isn't just a name. At the bottom are a few Ughas. You need to grab them with your whip and drag them up to the top. At the top are four buttons (use the explosives to get rid of the two shiny objects). Put two Ugha on the bottom two buttons, and stand on the other two. It's actually quite a pain in the butt to pull off. You have to move quickly between the two so the other one doesn't escape. --- Pit of Peril - Needed: Spear (Ugha Warrior), Explosives (Russian Officer) TA @ 40k - There are like four purples at the bottom, so don't sweat this one. First, stick two Spears on the wall to your right. Climb up and blast the rocks. Step on the switch to lower the water. That's all there really is to this puzzle. There are two more piles of shiny rocks hiding buttons, one on the left side, the other on the right side. Blast both from whatever range, then use Spears on sockets to reach the buttons. Once all three are pressed, you'll be at the bottom with the Treasure. =================== 10D. Bonus Levels = =================== Jungle Jinx - Entry: You need the Ugha Warrior. Just south of the initial area, on the wall, is an obvious cave entrance. Throw two Spears at either side of the entrance and grab both of them to open the door. TA @ 15k - There's a purple just below the second crank (in the middle). Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Agent Spalko Throw Spalko's Sword at the rope, and reassemble the push tracks. Jump up to the box and push it off the edge. Whip swing to the right with Indy, then turn the crank up the stairs to create a platform for Spalko to cross. Take the two Spears the Ugha left behind and use them on the sockets on the back wall, then leap across and turn the crank so Indy can join you. Whip across to the right and throw the switch in the trench so Spalko can get up to the high platform with the Shovels. Take one, drop down to the left and dig up the ladder pieces. Assemble the ladder and press both buttons to get the Treasure. NOTE: If you can't get Indy out of the trench on the far right side, try whipping and see if that boosts him up. --- Lake Crypt - Entry: Take Marion to the lake and have her jump onto the crypt. Take the idol from on top and place it on the side to open it. TA @ 20k - Brave the saw blades to get that purple in the back and you should be golden. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mac Have Mac shoot the target to raise the platforms. Head to the east, then to the northeast corner to throw the switch. Head back south, then west to a box of Spears. Throw two at the wall sockets on the north wall, then climb up to the left. Use the whip to grab the Shovel at the west wall, then use it to dig up the pieces, assemble them, then push the box so you can reach the Treasure. --- Digger's Delight - Entry: You need to purchase the Ugha Digger. Go to the northwest island in the middle of the river to find a large spot to dig. Dig up all the points to drop in. TA @ 25k - As always, check the front wall for hiding blues. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Grab the Shovel, then dig up the ladder. Assemble it and climb up to the right. Defeat all the soldiers, then dig up the Key. You can use it on the nearby crank to drop a Water Bottle that you can use on the fire (if the Bottle doesn't drop, just whip it). With the fire doused, grab a Spear and stick it on the back wall. Next, go back to the right and use the whip switch to move a platform. Have Mutt grab the nearby railing then leap to the platform so he can reach the engine to fix it. This will start the west elevator moving, so hop on. In the room, the hard part isn't getting the Spear, it's getting out. Use the whip switch to raise some ramps. Turn the crank in the northeast to make a platform. Dig in the south to find a chest with a Torch inside, and use that on the barrels of TNT to release the bike. Drive the bike onto the vehicle button, which raises and elevator so you can take the Spear back to the middle to attach it and get the Treasure. --- Treasure Room - Entry: Take Marion to the south end, then climb up the marked rocks to the switch. Throw it to open the door. TA @ 20k - The purple is on the way out, so as long as you have 10k at that point, you're fine. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Ugha Assassin Use the Assassin's blowpipe to hit the two targets. You can go either left or right. Going right will lead you to a Shovel. Dig up the middle dig spot to find a Water Bottle. Use it to douse the fire near the rope in the northeast corner. Shoot the target nearby with the blowpipe to get the platform moving, then hop up to the switch. Go left and dig up the push tracks. Push the box so you can jump to the rope, and then to the other switch. With both switches thrown, you can reach the Treasure in the middle. --- Cave Capers - Entry: Take Marion and the Ugha Warrior into the water in the south and all the way around to the west, preferably in the Car Boat. At the very far end of the island, throw Spears at the sockets and have Marion jump up. TA @ 32k - Hidden just north of the Treasure are two purples. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Soldier Whip across to the west and turn the crank. Take the Water Bottles and douse the fire all the way to the right. Whip swing across and turn this crank to raise a platform for the Soldier. Shoot the target over here to open the gate so you can hop across platforms and reach a Torch. Use it on the barrels of TNT to uncover two buttons. Stand on them to get the platforms to the west in motion. Take Water Bottles from nearby to throw at the fire blocking your path to the Treasure. --- Alien Ship With all ten Treasures, go to the giant spaceship on the east side and assemble it. Enter via the hatch. Characters: Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull), Mutt Not much to say about this one, really. There's a whip switch, but I'm sure you know what those look like by now. ****************************************************************************** 11. CREATOR ****************************************************************************** So, finally we're allowed to craft little missions of our own to dazzle our friends and fool our enemies. First of all, a note on limitations: missions created here will resemble the Bonus Levels you find in the game. You'll not be creating stuff with the kind of art direction you'll find in the story levels. You can't make cutscenes, nor any kind of detailed background. What you'll have is a rectangular area to start with and you'll build it up from there, or you can start with an established bonus level and modify it to your tastes. The Creator Menu consists of four elements. ============= Level Builder - This is the most involved area of the Creator, and also the area where you'll add to the percentage. Before going to complete this, I suggest you have a decent amount of studs, at least a million or two, as you'll have to buy to unlock certain things in the builder. Once you finish the first tutorial, you can then create. First, you'll select your theme. The theme dictates what kind of objects you can use. You can select the theme of any of the playsets and Super Bonus Levels. Under each theme, you can choose an empty level or choose to base your creation off an existing bonus level. Once you pick your theme, you can then choose location. All location does is determine the "background" of the area. What you can use to build is all based on theme. Controls while building are explained to you in the upper corners, except for a few: R1/L1 Buttons: Switch builder character. X Button: Jump. You may continue to jump indefinitely in midair. Other than that, everything's based around selection, placement, and menus, so refer to the corner for info. --- Tutorials Select any empty file and then Create. Before you can do anything else, you need to complete the first tutorial, so do so. Follow the instructions in it and you'll gain access to the construction worker character for building. Tutorial 1 is about simple movement, controls, and object building. Once you complete it, you'll be able to select anything else, including creating a level, or the other three tutorials. Tutorial 2 is about elevation. You'll be able to use the UFO to raise and lower the playing field to your tastes. You'll learn smooth elevation change and sharp elevation change (ie. cliffs) Tutorial 3 is about enemies and vehicles. You'll use Mola Ram to place vehicles in the level, but he's also used for enemy placement and behavior. Tutorial 4 is about baseplates. You'll use the Enemy Boxer to place road panels. --- Builder Characters/Menus With all four characters unlocked, you can have some fun with your creating. Objects - The construction worker covers objects that can be placed in the field. These include: Switches: These are used to change things. Usually once you place a switch, you'll want to find something to connect it to. You will be given a "socket" to do just that. Adventure: These objects are things that you can climb, push, hang from, etc. They're part of the level and indestructible. Props: These are objects that just sit around and can be smashed for studs. Special: These are objects that are base to the workings of the level. They include start points, exits, studs, camera cuts, and item chests and stands, among a few other things. Bricks: These are basic bricks that can be used for color and structure. Fun: As advertised, these are for cute little things like balloons, races, boulders, and goofy kinds of switches. Hazards: These are for things that can kill you. Landscape - The UFO covers shifting the land. You usually have a choice of these or baseplates, as they don't really work together. Shape # Cliff - Use this and you can raise and lower the land independently of what's outside the shape size. Press Square in the menu to select what size you want to use. Shape # Smooth - Use this and when you adjust the area, the surrounding area will be adjusted too, in a hill-like sense. Random Cliffs - This will throw random ledges in the area. Random Hills - This will throw random hills in the area. Flatten Landscape - Brings you back to square one on elevation. Enemies - Use Mola Ram to place enemies and vehicles. Vehicles - Select vehicles based on the theme that you can ride around. Characters - Select enemies to be fought in the level. Creatures - Select animals, either hostile critters, or helpful pack animals. Baseplates - These are for pieces that go into the ground. If you don't want to shift the land using the UFO, this will make things less dreary. Blank Baseplates: As advertised, these have no features. Road Baseplates: Plates with roads on them. Complex Baseplates: These plates already have items on them. You can use them if you wish to skip the tedium of placing little trees, flowers, and whatever. --- Other Menus Options - Every character has options at the top of his menu circle: Undo - Remove your last change. Redo - Reinstate your last undo. Player 1/Player 2 - Select the characters you want to implement into this level. Level Name - Pick the name of your level. Camera - Adjust how the camera looks at the level while you build. Item Manipulation - Walk up to any placed item and press Square and you can play around with it. Nudge - Use this mode to move the item without you having to walk with it. You can choose to move it along the ground, turn it, or raise it up and down if it's something that can float. Copy & ??? - Use this to take a placed item, and make another that you can either nudge, carry, or just pick up the placed one depending on what you select. Delete - Use this to remove the item. Dig-it - On Props, you can select this and turn it on and then it will need to be dug up with a Shovel. Items - On Props and some others, you can select this to "hide" an item in it to be used later, or just put studs in it. Most Props will automatically start with studs in them. Grab Socket - On switch-related items, you can use this to find the socket for the manipulation of this object. Adjust - On platforms and sockets, you can use this to adjust how high they'll be, or how much time they take to effect. Movement - On Enemy Characters, you can choose how they move, if at all, while they can't see you. Reaction - On Enemy Characters, you can choose how they react to you, whether they ignore you, attack, run away, or panic. Attack is usually the default. A note on sockets: Sockets are basically things that cause other things to happen. There are two types: cause (green) and effect (red). Switches are of the cause type, and adventure or fun objects like doors or platforms are of the effect type. Whenever you make a switch that you want to change something, you'll need to put the two respective sockets on top of one another. Sockets will not appear in the game; they're invisible triggers. So, a green socket not connected to anything does nothing, but a red socket not connected to anything will just operate on its own, especially if it's a moving platform or a hazard. You can "adjust" that socket with an amount of time if you want the thing to delay its movements for any reason. --- Finishing Up When you've finished your masterpiece, press Start and select Test Level. If you can complete the level, it will offically be "validated" (a check mark will appear next to it on the menu) and you can use it for Quick Play or Build Your Own Adventure. If you hold Triangle to test the level, you will NOT get it validated. You must do so from the Pause Menu. --- Getting 100% That's all well and good, but if you're like me, and I know I am, you just want to know how to get the 100% and move on. Well, here's how it goes: Complete all four tutorials. Only worth 1% each, but that's 1% you need. The rest of it is in purchasing stuff from the menus. The Enemies and Landscape menus will have nothing to buy (the former being based off what you've unlocked in the main game), but the Objects and Baseplates section will. Access each sub-menu and look for things you need to purchase. Furthermore, EACH of the seven themes has stuff to purchase. There are some objects that appear in more than one theme, and you won't have to buy them twice, but each theme has its own set of unique items, meaning you have to start a level with each theme and search the menus for stuff to buy. The good news is that you don't have to save, test, or complete each level in order to have the fact that you bought all its stuff. HOWEVER, I would make sure you create a level once at the very end so that the game does an auto save, because buying the stuff will NOT trigger the save function. Make sure the game does a save before you turn off the console, or else your progress in the creator is lost. Also, make sure you watch the menus, because you'll notice they cycle through different types of things you can use of the same item (for instance, different colors of flowers). On certain specific items, you'll have to buy more than one object in that same spot. For instance, for chests, you'll need to buy the wooden and metal chest separately. Just watch them for a few moments to see if you see any black items. Particularly, windows in KCS levels can be insidious, as bricks tend not to be involved in that. I'm not going to list all the stuff you need to buy, but there's quite a bit, so make sure you check each sub-menu of Objects and Baseplates each time you start a level with a different theme, as some new stuff might have appeared. --- You can create up to forty-five of your own levels per save file, and you can only use them with that save file. ============= Character Creator - Use this to create your own custom people. After creating them, you can activate them in the game using their respective code. Basic controls: Circle - Test: Take your character on a brief spin in this confined area. Triangle - Switch: Change between modifying the left character and the right character. X - Select: Choose to use that item or activate the random or name-changing feature. Control Pad Left/Right - Scroll through the various attributes. Control Pad Up/Down - Adjust the attribute you're on. So, the attributes you can change are weapon, hat, hair, face, head, arms, hands, body, belt, and legs. Also available are a name selection feature for your character's name, the code to use the character, and a randomize function. Once you create the character you like, pause and choose Save & Exit and your character will be put in reserve. If you wish to use the character in the game, you have to pause, go to Extras, and select Enter Code. Alternatively, you can assign the character for play in any level or adventure you create. You can create up to eighteen characters (nine sets of two) per save file. --- Build Your Own Adventure - This is a means for you to create a multi-level adventure. When you first pick "Create", you'll choose the "treasure" you're seeking in this adventure. It's largely cosmetic and has no real bearing on how you go about it. It's just your objective. Once you pick your treasure, you'll need to set up your levels. The square in the middle is which level you choose. You can choose any of the in-game levels (Story, Treasure, Bonus) as well as any level you created yourself. The two circles to the left and the right are the characters you plan on using for the mission, which can be any you've unlocked or created. In addition to the two you select, you'll also be given the two characters needed to complete the mission, unless you already picked one or both of them. After you select characters, another circle will appear below the square. Use this to select the vehicle that will appear in this mission, or select "On Foot" to use none. This is mostly applicable to vehicle missions. Once you finish vehicle selection, you'll be prompted to choose your next level, or you can just pick "Done". You can have up to ten levels in your adventure. With your adventure completed, you can choose at any time to Edit it, copy and paste it elsewhere, rename it, or just delete it. If you play it, you'll go through a quick introductory cutscene where your intial characters are looking for the treasure, play through the levels, then a quick outro showing your celebration over finding it. You can create up to fifteen different adventures per save file, and they can only be accessed on that particular save file. --- Quick Play - As it says on the tin, this allows you to pick any level you've played or created in the game and run through it. Once you select the level, you'll select two characters to play it with, and then you'll be given the characters necessary to complete it in addition. ****************************************************************************** 12. MISCELLANY ****************************************************************************** ============================ 13A. Trophies/Achievements = ============================ All I really have to say here is that I'm sure you figured it out, but all these are quotes from the movies. Saves me having to put them in the guide, I guess. The Holy Grail, Dr. Jones - Earn all the other trophies. --- These next eighteen are for each individual playset. The first of each group of three is for completing all the story missions, the second for completing all the treasure missions, and the last for completing all the bonus levels, INCLUDING the Super Bonus Level. Asps very dangerous you go first I don't believe in hocus-pocus. He was good, he was very good. - Raiders of the Lost Ark You betrayed Shiva! *I'm* a conceited ape? You dare not do that. - Temple of Doom We named the dog Indiana. I can almost reach it! Our situation has not improved. - The Last Crusade I thought that was closer. I meant drop dead... Comrade. What are you, like 80? - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Part 1 Grab the snake! We're not grave robbers. You're one crazy old man. - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Part 2 Three times it drops! They were archaeologists! Into the space in-between spaces - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Part 3 --- So what are you, a triple agent? - Destroy Indy 3 times with Mac. Seeing communists in our soup. - Destroy 50 Russians with Mutt. NOTE: A good place to do this is Mac Attack. Early in the mission, you'll have an infinite number of Russians to smash. "You're a teacher?" "Part time." - Use Scholar access 10 times. NOTE: There are actually not enough heiroglyph panels in the normal game to get ten, so you'll have to return to a bonus level with the feature a few times. I suggest "Venice Library" in Last Crusade. Wiped clean the by the wrath of God. - Edit a Bonus level in the Builder. NOTE: Specifically what you have to do is, instead of starting with an empty level in the Creator, pick one of the existing bonus levels they offer you, edit it, then validate and save it. Obtainer of rare antiquities. - Find all the Artifacts in the game. NOTE: Which is to say, pick up all sixty Treasures. I'd cover my ears if I were you. - Fire a Bazooka 100 times. You know how to fly, don't you? - Complete all plane races. NOTE: Probably something you'll do in the process of unlocking everything. Just make sure that every time you get a flying craft that you fly up and find the race marker. Wow! Holy smoke! Crash landing! - Destroy 100 enemy vehicles. And I even like the color. - Create a validated Builder level. NOTE: Go to the Creator, create a mission, then select "Test Level" in the pause menu and complete it, then save it. Do svidanya, Dr. Jones. - Destroy Indy with Spalko. What are you looking at Daddy-o? - Create a customised character. I taught you self-reliance. - Complete the Builder Tutorial levels. NOTE: There are four tutorials to the Creator. Follow the instructions in each and complete all four. What a vivid imagination. - Complete a "Build Your Own Adventure". NOTE: Complete, meaning create one, then play it all the way through. Of course, when you realize that a valid "adventure" can be created with only one bonus level, just create a simple level, put it in the adventure, and complete it. Get on, Gramps! - Unlock all of the vehicles in the game. Now you're getting nasty. - Unlock all of the enemies in the game. Not as easy as it used to be. - Complete Hangar 51 in under 5 minutes. NOTE: Ah, now this is a tough one. To begin with, before you even consider attempting this, you need to realize that there's a bit of a glitch to this, and it will ONLY work (so far as I've heard) if you attempt it while starting a brand new game. So start a new save file, sit through the opening cutscenes, then get ready to go: 1. Move the crate onto the spot. 2. Climb up and swing across to the right with the whip. 3. Push the box off to the left, then switch to Mac. 4. Assemble the railings and climb up quickly. 5. When you reach the next area, shoot up everything that you need to. You need to shoot the two boxes that have the statue parts in them, as well as the box with the statue itself inside it, and the box with the Ra Staffs. 6. Grab the parts boxes, place them, and build the complete statue. 7. Have each character grab a Staff and point the light at the statue. 8. Quickly grab two Water Bottles and chuck them at the flames. 9. Shoot open the box with Spears and throw three at the back wall. Hop up them and push the box off the edge. 10. From the crate with the skull, hop across the ropes to the right and push the other box off the edge. This will get the cutscene going. 11. Drive the jeep onto the left-hand vehicle pad. 12. Have both characters stand on the buttons above to unlock the tricycle. 13. Drive the trike onto the other vehicle pad. 14. Throw the switch behind the door to lower the ladder above. 15. Now, chase after Dovchenko. Jump across the ropes and up the ladder, then back to the left until he leaps off to the glass floor. 16. You're now at the boss fight. Quickly wrap Dovchenko in the whip, leave him in the path of the rocket, then step on the buttons. If you're lucky, you can get two hearts off with one button press if you're quick on the whipping. If you did it right, you'll get the trophy ding once the cutscene starts. I suppose it goes without saying that this is probably a lot quicker with two people to cover things. A long time to wait. - Unlock the Grail Knight. You choose the wrong friends. - Complete all Story Levels in Quick Play. NOTE: Go to the Creator and select Quick Play in the lower right corner. You need to play all thirty Story Missions from this menu. Now, there's no indicator to let you know which you've played, so you'll have to just remember. After you do this, go into any Story, and play the Super Bonus Level again. For some reason, the Trophy will only activate then. What are they? Spacemen? - Unlock the Interdimensional Being. No defiant last words Dr. Jones? - Complete the game to 100%. NOTE: To get 100%, you need to have 100% on every playset, obviously. To get 100% on the six movie playsets, you need to beat all fifteen missions, buy all characters and vehicles, find all thirty Power Bricks AND purchase the associated extras, and find all ten Treasures and access the Super Bonus Level. The Super Bonus Level playset is obvious: just beat all six of them. To get 100% in the Creator, you need to play the four tutorial missions, and unlock all the purchaseable pieces. Note that each "theme" will have its own set of pieces to purchase. I go over them in more detail in the Creator section, but suffice to say you have to create a level with each of the seven themes, then while building, buy all the stuff in the menus. After you get everything, go into any Story, and play the Super Bonus Level again. For some reason, the Trophy will only activate then. ========================== 13B. Fastest Way to 100% = ========================== So, in the older games, the fastest way to 100% is through score multipliers. Buy and use the multipliers first and avoid everything non-essential and you'll find your way to a quick 100% as your score climbs through the roof. The same, more or less, applies here. The only difference is that the fastest way to get enough studs for your multipliers is a bit different. See, since the Super Bonus Levels actually let you keep your million this time around, the quickest way to high score is through them. So, here's a quick run-down on the fastest means, and it will require a bit of frivolous spending, especially at the early stages. --- Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 1 I'll assume as we go that you're collecting enough studs for True Adventurer in each mission. If you ignore studs then you won't be getting anywhere, of course, so make sure you're scrounging around, both in the hub and in the missions. So, beat the first two missions as normal. In fact, you can go through all five story missions from the get-go. Order isn't important as long as you get everything done. Once you get a decent-sized bank, it's time to start unlocking stuff. You'll need the following things: Mannequin (Girl) - 7,000 (cheapest female high jump) Hot Rod - 30,000 (required for unlocking...) Stanforth - 40,000 (Book needed to access a Bonus Level) Sabre Jet - 250,000 (Needed to access a lot of stuff) Russian Digger - 30,000 (for the Shovel and security access) General Ross - 35,000 (for the Bazooka and security access) That's a required 392,000 to get to the SBL on KCS1. Seems a tall order, but don't forget that Motorbike Mayhem and its Treasure Mission give you a fair amount of studs. Once you get the million from the SBL, break all ten fire hydrants, purchase Score x2, and turn it on. You're now ready to move on. --- Raiders of the Lost Ark Score x2 is useful, but it's really not enough to be raking in the big cash. So, let's go to this one next, requiring 2 million for Score x3 (remember that the SBL can't be multiplied). Go through the motions and unlock the following things: Masked Bandit - 17,000 (for the Sword) Army Jeep - 30,000 (so you can unlock...) Bazooka Trooper (Raiders) - 30,000 (Explosives expert) Passenger Jet - 100,000 (so you can unlock...) Hovitos Tribesman - 30,000 (Spear chucker) Belloq - 500,000 (for the Staff of Ra) U-Boat 26 - 30,000 (to enter the Submarine Base bonus level) 737,000 is a bit steep, especially since you need another million besides, plus the SBL, but it is doable. You can always go back to the driving missions if you need some help. Once you hit 2 mil, break the ten barrels to find and buy Score x3. Activate both multipliers for a Score x6. We're doing better, but it's not quite enough. --- Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 2 We're piling it on, now, but we're going to need just a bit more help to hit a magical number that really rolls in the cash, so let's go over this one for the sake of argument. You'll need: Cemetery Warrior - 20,000 (Spear dude) Jungle Cutter - 5,000 (Duh) Russian Officer - 30,000 (Boom boom and security access) Wait, is that it? Yes! A mere 55,000 will cover all your needs on this mission. The only reason we did the x3 first is because 2 million is easier to hit at x2 than the 3 million needed for x4. So, smash the red spiders to find the red bricks and buy your Score x4 for three million. You now have x24 and at this point, you're pretty much set for the game. --- And the rest... If you want to go in order, the x6 can be found in Temple of Doom, the x8 can be found in Last Crusade, and the x10 is in KCS part 3. After you get any one of these, all bets are pretty much off. Even x144 is a ridiculous multiplier, and the x11520 from all six is just... silly. So, return to the old playsets and buy everything else. The means are found up in the walkthrough, so I don't really intend to repeat them here. The Creator section covers how to 100% Creator, so check that out. Simple answer for that is to play the Tutorials and buy all the extras from each "theme". If anyone has any better means, let me know and I'll include them. =================== 13C. Secret Codes = =================== Press Start and then select Extras, then select "Enter Secret Code". Now, you'll find that not all of these will take an immediate effect. The character ones, for instance, may ONLY be used in their respective playset. If you try to unlock Belloq in KCS1 or something, then the code will work, but he can only be used in Raiders, like normal. Same goes with vehicles. For Extras, though, anything goes. These are taken directly from GameFAQs, which were in turn taken from the LEGO Indy 2 website. I'm assuming they're universal regardless of console you're playing on. Characters 7EQF47 - Enemy Boxer WL4T6N - Dovchenko 7AWX3J - Lao Che U7SMVK - Mannequin: Adult Female QPWDMM - Mannequin: Adult Male 3PG5EL - Mannequin: Child Female 2UJQWC - Mannequin: Child Male 82RMC2 - Mola Ram 2GK562 - Mutt 4C5AKH - Professor Henry Jones FTL48S - Rene Belloq E88YRP - Sallah There were several others on the list, but most of them are pointless. Some were characters you get immediately upon entering a playset, and several were of Jones himself, who is the main character and whom you're never without, so let's skip those, hmm? --- Vehicles 7VLKAF - Biplane (do not know which one) YLG2TN - Hot Rod BC5PTY - Staff Car RM3E84 - Stunt Plane PXT4UP - UFO --- Extras U38VJP - Score x2 PEHHPZ - Score x3 UXGTB3 - Score x4 XWJ5EY - Score x6 S5UZCP - Score x8 V7JYBU - Score x10 FQGPYH - Silhouettes UU3VSC - Beep Beep TY9P4U - Ice Rink Y9TE98 - Disguise SZFAAE - Poo Money 2U7YCV - Snake Whip SNXC2F - Fast Build EGSM5B - Stud Magnet 6JBB65 - Invincibility 3Z7PJX - Fast Fix XYAN83 - Fast Dig TUXNZF - Fearless I have not checked every last one of these codes. If one or more is off, please let me know and I'll either remove or try to get the right ones. ****************************************************************************** 14.
