Dragon Quest 1 Remake Translations Guide Version 1.0 By Red Scarlet (akaiscarlet@hotmail.com) Version 1.0 01/06/02-Guide Created ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This FAQ is for personal use only. It cannot be altered without the consent of the FAQ's owner (me), nor published in any magazines or any reproducted form. This FAQ is not meant for sale and is copyright 2002 Red Scarlet. If you want to use this FAQ on your Website or page, please email me for permission (akaiscarlet@hotmail.com). This FAQ was created using NJSTAR, and to view it properly, I would suggest right clicking the page, then choose 'encoding' and choose Japanese Auto-Select. That is to view it on a PC with Windows, and since I don't have a Mac, I have no idea how to do that with them. So, sorry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A couple years ago, I was given the pleasure of playing through the Dragon Quest 1 remake on the Super Famicom. The new remake has added and changed a few things, like the stat-increasing seeds. This guide is more or less being made due to a request from someone making a DQ/DW card-game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Menu Screen Translations First of all, you should know what all the options are when you turn the game on. They are: ぼうけんをする: Bouken wo Suru (Continue a game.) せっていをかえる: Setti wo Kaeru (Change message speed; 1 is fastest, 9 is slowest.) ぼうけんのしょをつくる: Bouken no Sho wo Tsukuru (New Game.) ぼうけんのしょをうつす: Bouken no Sho wo Utsusu (Copy a game to an open save file.) ぼうけんのしょをけす: Bouken no Sho wo Kesu (Erase a game-permanently.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Command Translations Regular Commands (Non-Battle) A * indicates more options open when that command is selected. はなす: Hanasu (Talk) じゅもん: Jumon (Magic Spell) *つよさ: Tsuyosa (Status) *どうぐ: Dougi (Inventory) とびら: Tobira (Open a Door) しらべる: Shiraberu (Search) When you select つよさ: Tsuyosa (Status), two options open. They are: つかう: Tsukau (Use the item) すてる: Suteru (Throw item away-it doesn't come back, so be careful!) When you select つよさ: Tsuyosa (Status) and then つよさみる: Tsuyosamiru (Look at stats), you get the Status Screen.
