My total experience on this type of stuff is low. My knowledge of the japanese written and spoken word is next to none. Please be gentle with the mistakes you may (read as probably will) find in this guide. I'll do my best to put nothing but correct spelling, grammar, and info in this, but sooner or later I'm bound to screw up somewhere >.> It didn't help that when I copied and pasted this into a program with spell checking, it completely screwed up my spacing, so I trashed that idea. Please bear with any spelling mistakes you may find, I'll do my best to find and fix any that my be within these pages. ************************************************************ ------------------------------------------------------ Section 2 - General Info (Controls, Menus, Etc) [S2GI] ------------------------------------------------------ ++++++++++++ General Info ++++++++++++ Alright, hopefully I'll explain this without confusing to many people, and I apologize in advance if I fail that >.> Like all great arcs in One Piece, the game starts with the crew sailing along. I won't give a story-translation, because I don't have that myself. Anyway, some islands will raise from the water, and the goal of the game seems to be to travel them and help your new buddy, Gaburi, become stronger. You do this by feeding him orbs that the bosses drop upon being defeated. Still with me? Along the way, you'll find various "Orb Points" (OP for short) throughout the islands that require some matrials, and more importantly, an "Orb Meter Points" (a term which I'm just made up). To get the orb meter points, you have to feed Gaburi items you find around the islands. Yeah, it sounds really, really odd in text format, but trust me, the game's a blast ^.^ +++++++++++++ Game Controls +++++++++++++ Joy Stick - Move you character (I'm only putting this here for comletion sake >.>) A Button - Attack Button. Used for nearly every attack in the game. B Button - Jump Button. Used to move somewhere more vertical then you're acustom to walking. - Button - Switch Button. Used to change your character into someone you like better. + Button - Menu Button. Pulls up the menu if you're tired of staring at the scenary. 1 Button - First Person Button. Let's you see more or less what your character is seeing. Still no Mellorine Rader from Sanji... 2 Button - Usless Button. I'm not even sure this button does something in this game. D-Pad - Tools Pad. You can equip various items to the <, v, ^ directions, and put them away with >. C Button - Special Button. Hold down and press A or Shake the Wiimote for a super attack. Also Double Tap and Hold to run. Z Button - Camera Button. Type to (usually) center the camera behind the character. Also used to lock-on to a nearby insect or enemy. A+B Buttons - While not really a button, I still feels it's worth mentioning. Press A+B to do a dodge roll. Shake Wiimote - Used for 1 attack each character and a special attack each character. (Shake by itself, and Shake while holding C respectivly) Above actions that use SP. - Shake Attacks (Self-Replenishing) - Running (Self-Replenishing) - Dodge Roll (Self-Replenishing) - Special Attacks (Not Self-Replenishing) ++++++++++ Main Menu ++++++++++ Here's the main menu layout, with the certified "I'm translating this myself" Razum translation. ----------------------------------------- File 1 ||Load || -Various Info About the Save ||Copy || -All in japanese >.> ||Erase||<======================== -Percent Complete Time Played ||-----|| | || || | File 2 || || | -Various Info About the Save || || | -All in Japanese >.> || || | -Percent Complete Time Played || || | || || | File 3 || || | -Various Info About the Save || || | -All in Japanese >.> || || | -Percent Complete Time Played || || | || || | OTHER MODES || ||<=When this is selected,|changes to ----------------------------------------- VS Mode and Survival Mode. +++++++++++ Normal Menu +++++++++++ This is the menu that pops up whenever you hit the + Button, and are not on the Thousand Sunny. -Inventroy (Press - the throw things out and C to sort the inventory) -Feed Items to Gabuir (Press - the throw things out) -Status Menu -Click a StrawHat to pull up individual status -Click C to look at how to unlock new moves -Making Stuff Refrence List (List only) -Sanji's Cooking -Chopper's Medicane -Ussop's Building -Orb Point List (Lists off the various OP's in the game.) -Treasure Maps (See the various treasure map pieces you've collected) -Info List -Monument List -Tutorials ++++++++++++++++++++++ Menu On Thousand Sunny ++++++++++++++++++++++ This is the menu that pops up when you hit the + Button while on the Thousand Sunny. -Save Game -Yes -No -Return to Main Menu -Yes -No -Item Storage -Store Items -Withdraw Items -Organize Stored Items -Feed Stored Items to Gaburi -Sanji's Cooking List -Chopper's Medicane List -Ussop's Building List -Archives -Animal List -Fish List -Character List -Music Player -Island List (Can also move between the islands here) -Go to Island -Close Menu -Go to normal menu ************************************************************ ------------------------------ Section 3 - Move Lists [S3ML] ------------------------------ Monkey D. Items dropped by and enemy or an animal when you capture it won't be included on in this section, they'll be in the following two subsections. Oh, and if I miss any items that can be found on the islands, let me know so I can add them please. +++++++++ Island 1 +++++++++ Bitter Grass - Dropped from bushes found all over the island. Vaccuming seems to increase chance of them dropping. Medical Herbs - Dropped from bushes found all over the island. Vaccuming seems to increase chance of them dropping. Honey - Dropped from the various color flowers all over the island. Vaccuming seems to increase chance of them dropping. Bamboo - Cut the full-grown stalks of bamboo with either a bladed weapon (Brooke, Zoro, Robin's AirA) or with the pick axe. A majority of them are found near the fishing spot shortly before the second boss. Twisted/Thin Bamboo - Cut the thinner stalks of bamboo with either a bladed weapon (Brooke, Zoro, Robin's AirA) or with the pick axe. A majority of them are found near the fishing spot shortly before the second boss. The chance of it being a thin stalk as opposed to a regular on seems to be random. Coconut - Attack a palm tree on the beach, then attack the coconut that falls from it. For some reason or another, if the coconut hits you as it falls, you lose some SP. Wheat - Head through the cave to the right of Sunny (Sunny's Perspective) and straight out into the water. Break open the boxes to find some wheat inside. Myserty Egg - Can occasionally be found beneath a bush. Attack/vaccum a the various bush groups to find eggs. Vines - Hanging down the left path right after the first boss. Cut them down with either a bladed weapon (Brooke, Zoro, Robin's AirA) or with the pick axe. Bouncing Mango - Found on several small trees scattered throught the island. Attack the tree to lossen the mango, and touch the mango as it bounces. Condensed Poison - Use your vaccum on the poison spewing flowers. 2 are found to the down the right path after the first boss, and 2 are found a bit before the second boss. Blue Shell - 2 can be dug up on in the water on the left side of Sunny (Sunny's Perspective). Hard Rock - Use your pick axe on the various triangle rocks around the island. Most here are 1 time only. Steel - Found by using your pick axe on the blue-crystals in the ground around the island. Failed to keep an accurate list, so I'm not sure on the exact locations. Only a couple on the island, and 1 time dig up. Blue Orb - To the right of Sunny (Sunny's Perspective) there are a couple of small rocks that Brooke can run accross the water to. On one of them is a blue-crystal that comes back. Drops a blue orb. Green Mushroom - There are 2 spots on the island that can have this. The first is on a very small cliff on the beach in front of Sunny. Pick axe the respawning triangle rock there to find it below. The other spot is near the bamboo shortly before the second boss. Same deal, pick axe the triangle rock to find it below. Royal Jelly - Found in 2 trees on the island. The tree is right before the islands Hidden Boss. Can random drop up to 3 times, with each time randomly dropping up to 3 saps. The other is shortly after you cross the cliff on the giant tree trunk. Follow the path straight up the hill to an area with a bunch of large trees that don't drop anything. In the back of the area is a triangle rock that you can pick axe to reveal a muchroom you can bounce on. That leads to a small clearing that has 1 tree that can randomly drop up to 3 bundles, each randomly dropping up to 3 saps. Blue Fruit - Found in 3 trees on the island. One is off the right path after the first boss. Just follow the wall right until you find a tree that can randomly have up to 3. The others are shortly after you cross the cliff on the giant tree trunk. Follow the path straight up the hill to an area with a bunch of large trees that don't drop anything. In the back of the area is a triangle rock that you can pick axe to reveal a muchroom you can bounce on. That leads to a small clearing that has 2 trees that can randomly drop up to 3 blue apples. Marble Block - Found on the cliff that Chopper, Brooke, Nami, and Ussop started the game on. Pick axe the X's on the cliff. Clay - Can be gotten randomly while digging. Low chance. +++++++++ Island 2 +++++++++ Bitter Grass - Dropped from bushes found all over the island. Steel - Found by using your pick axe on the blue-crystals in the ground around the island. Failed to keep an accurate list, so I'm not sure on the exact locations. Only a couple on the island, and 1 time dig up. Bamboo - Cut the full-grown stalks of bamboo with either a bladed weapon (Brooke, Zoro, Robin's AirA) or with the pick axe. Twisted/Thin Bamboo - Cut the thinner stalks of bamboo with either a bladed weapon (Brooke, Zoro, Robin's AirA) or with the pick axe. Wheat - Same as Island 1, break open boxes in the water around the secert fishing spot. Mystery Egg - Can occasionally be found beneath a bush. Attack/vaccum a the various bush groups to find eggs. Bouncing Mango - Found on several small trees scattered throught the island. Attack the tree to lossen the mango, and touch the mango as it bounces. Condensed Poison - Use your vaccum on the purple posion walls or the posion spewing flowers. Marble Block - The area right after the first boss. Look at the ground and pick axe the X's you'll see. There is a good number of them lying around. Log - Right after the first boss. Attack the poor looking trees to get a log. There are 2 in this spot. Clay - There are a couple of axe's on the ground that yield clay. One is the right shortly after getting off Sunny (by the red lizard on the ground). Can also be found randomly by digging. Bone - Found from the trees with a animal skull on the top. Attack it to get the bone. Salty Carrot - Near the second boss. While on the ruins, there should be what looks like an over sized well right next to the OP. Jump down it to find roughly 9 carrots that you can pick axe up. Red Fruit - After the bridge that Franky has to make to continue, jump onto the broken pillar, then jump up to the cliff. Follow the this to the left down a ways until you see a tree that you have to jump down a bit to reach. Randomly has up to 3 red apples. Can also be found in a clearing with a Trap Spot. Exploding Fragment - Several (8 I believe) exploding rocks can be found on the cliffs between the 1st and 2nd bosses. In addition, a couple more can be found across an optional bridge immidiatly left after crossing the first you you build (right after the first boss). Golden Egg - You can find 1 golden egg down the left path where the first bosses OP is. Go down there, climb the cliff, and jump across the bones coming out of the wall to find it. Honestly, I'd just wait till island 3 for these though >.> Brown Fruit - Right after the first boss, follow the left wall to a purple posion wall. After you upgrade your vaccum, you can suck that up and continue. There are two trees down this path that yeild Brown Fruit. +++++++++ Island 3 +++++++++ Bitter Grass - Dropped from bushes found all over the island. Steel - Found by using your pick axe on the blue-crystals in the ground around the island. Failed to keep an accurate list, so I'm not sure on the exact locations. Only a couple on the island, and 1 time dig up. Mystery Egg - Can occasionally be found beneath a bush. Attack/vaccum a the various bush groups to find eggs. Bouncing Mango - Found on several small trees scattered throught the island. Attack the tree to lossen the mango, and touch the mango as it bounces. Condensed Poison - Use your vaccum on the purple posion walls right before the 2nd boss. Honestly though... you chould really need this item anymore, it's only used for one thing >.> Clay - Can be found randomly by digging. Snow Raddish - There are a couple that you can dig up on the island. Just check at the end of any given outdoor cliff, and there's a chance to find some. Just pick axe em and pick them up. Ice Fragment - I really doubt you need this, but... All the ice triangle's around the island. Hit them 3 times with a pick axe, and pick of the spoils. Golden Fruit - Can be dropped from ANY of the little round-topped trees inside a couple of the caves. Though the easiest place to find them is the very first cave on the island. Run in, check the trees, leave, and repeat. Golden Egg - While one or two can be found randomly near the hidden boss, don't bother. It's much easier to just capture the penguine's that spawn on the first ridges of the island. Frozen Meat - After the 1st boss, once you leave the caves, take a right. Follow that until you come to a spot where Franky has to build a ladder. Do so, climb it, and enter the nearest cave. Follow that path down until it leads to a cavern where the back wall is actually a giant forzen mammoth. There are a couple spots that you can pick axe at the bottom of this wall one per visit for 1 frozen meat each. Hard Rock - Oddly enough, I've randomly gotten these when breaking apart an ice triangle... *shrugs* +++++++++ Island 4 +++++++++ Bitter Grass - Dropped from bushes found all over the island. Steel - Found by using your pick axe on the blue-crystals in the ground around the island. Failed to keep an accurate list, so I'm not sure on the exact locations. Only a couple on the island, and 1 time dig up. Mystery Egg - Can occasionally be found beneath a bush. Attack/vaccum a the various bush groups find eggs. Condensed Poison - Use your vaccum on the the posion spewing flowers near the 2nd boss. Clay - Can be found randomly by digging. Exploding Fragment - Some are around the arena of the 2nd boss, and there are a couple more near the hidden boss. Hard Rock - Dear lord, these are everywhere in here... Triangle rocks galor, and if that's not enough, then pick axe the brown walls to not only open up a path, but to also get a bunch more Hard Rocks! Green Mushroom - A couple can randomly be found in the area's with full grown trees. Honestly, if you want green mushrooms, I'd just stick to island 1. Log - In the only area of the cave with lava. A good 4 or 5 are around there. Volcanic Rock - Like above, found only in the lava area. Check the ground to find an abundence of X's, each pick axed to reveal a Lava Fragment. Black Orb - You know the big... ameba(?) like plants? They close up when you approch them? Well, if you dash at them while they are open, and attack them before they close, they have a chance of dropping these. Mysertious Seaweed - In the places of the island that have a small layer of water, you will frequently find small tenticales that don't really do any thing but sit there (not to be mistake for the bigger one's that attack you, often found in the same places). Attack them to randomly get these from them. ************************************************************ --------------------------------------------- Section 4b - Items Dropped By Enemies [S4ED] --------------------------------------------- Whew, this section should be nice and short. These are points that use both material's from your inventory and the points that you've stored up in various color meters (Blue, Green, Red, White, Black, Gold) by feeding items to Gaburi. These points open up a new path on the island for you to travel. Some are required to procced story-wise, some lead down optional paths, some lead to optional bosses, and some just lead to treasure. Either way, opening all the ones you see is generally a good idea. Just keep in mind that you'll have to revisit islands to actually be able to open them all. Gaburi's OP activate something around the area, from spouting a bridge made of a giant tree root, to making the Gaou Cannon fire into a rock. Franky's OP make 1 of 3 things: a Bridge, a ladder, or a tunnel. Fortunatly, most bridges, most ladders, and most tunnels require the same materials as each other of the same type. It's much to easy for me to explain something poorly. Though, as suggested by Milon, if I end up having free time, I'll type out a general overview on the locations of each one in addition to the pictures. ************************************************************ ------------------------ Section 13 - FAQs [S13F] ------------------------ Well, since this is technically in the FAQ section, may as well throw one of these in here. Q: Why isn't there a walkthrough in this guide? A: The game itself is pretty straight forward. Follow the path, find the OP, open, beat boss, repeat. I figured a Walkthrough wasn't really needed. So unless a need for one shows up, I'll keep things like this. Q: How do I use traps? A: Set on in a trap spot, leave for a bit and come back. If it's closed and shaking, you've caught something. If it's closed with a hole in it, the caught thing escaped. If it's still open, leave again and come back. Q: I've unlocked a third special for someone, but how do I use it? A: If you go to the status screen for a character, you can click on one of the special icons and replace it with which every special you want to be used under that command (C+A or C+Shake). Q: What do I do with the X marks on the ground, and X marked rocks? A: After you beat the second boss, you can find a pick axe on the Thousand Sunny. Use that to dig items up from the X marks, and break the X marked rocks. Q: What are the twin rocks that are coming out of the ground every now and then for? A: Those are the spots the you use the Kuwagata item on. The Kuwagata is a giant slingshot that'll send you back to the Thousand Sunny. Great way to save on time when you have to back track. Q: What is this Boss Rush/Time Trial Mode I've heard about? A: Return to the 5th island after beating the game, and go to the monument on the right side. Check it to go into Boss Rush mode. You can either do Normal (Items are usable) or Hard (no items). Either way, the first time you beat it, you'll unlock the Raikotsuken team attack.
