Submission Details / Credits*********************SKY4*********************** O===========================================================================O | Information about Submissions | O===========================================================================O Should you want to submit a boss strategy to this FAQ, or otherwise would wish to contact me concerning this or any of my other FAQs, you have two methods in which to do so: - Through my e-mail (keyblade999.faqs@gmail.com). - PM or Private Message me on the GameFAQs message boards. In either case, assuming you sent a boss strategy, you and/or the strategy must comply with the following conditions: - Firstly, it must be sent in by June 31, 2012. This is primarily chosen as a good point by which all decent strategies have been sent in. After this point, absolutely no more strategies will be accepted. ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ - It is readable. For example, I'd prefer no abbreviations (FYI and BTW are acceptable, but random stuff like LOL and ROFL will probably be not). Proper spelling and semi-proper grammar also are good. - You'll accept that I will probably do some spell-checking and other minor things to it to make it more understandable, but ONLY as needed. There will NOT be any major content changes. - It must be an actual strategy for it, not a "Just hit him a hundred times!" kind of thing. Very few, if any, bosses can described with such a strategy. - If you plagiarize a strategy, it will NOT be accepted. If a posted strategy is found to be plagiarized, it will be IMMEDIATELY removed. - In the subject line of the e-mail or PM, please put "Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Boss FAQ", or something to that effect, lest I misinterpret it as spam and delete it. Also be sure to specifically name the boss you're adding to, as the same boss can repeat multiple times. For example, you could use the nomenclature I use the Contents section. - Finally, you must accept I'll credit you for the strategy in this FAQ. Therefore, you should tell me what you'd like to be credited by. Otherwise, I will use your e-mail or GameFAQs screenname, depending on how you contacted me. I will not always ask, considering that this is here. All clear? One final note - I don't actually check my e-mail and stuff often, about once every week or two. So don't flood my in-box with the same thing over and over. If I accept/reject a strategy, I should let you know within two weeks. If not, send ONE copy of the e-mail/PM again, checking the subject line and all to make sure it doesn't end up as spam in my in-box. Enemy Data ************************************SKY5************************* [enemy name] ~~ Spoils Gotten: [what I've found the enemy to give away] ~~ Appearance : [what the enemy looks like] ~~ Other Notes : [anything else to note] =============================================================================== Ampilus ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A sand-snail, with a red body and grayish shell. ~~ Other Notes : This enemy often attacks with an electric tackle. Shield bash it to stun it, then proceed to defeat it. Aerial Bomb attacks also work. In the cases where the monster was on quicksand, you can temporarily stand on the shell to regain your stamina. Finally, this enemy becomes the Ampilus Egg when it is influenced by a Timeshift Stone. =============================================================================== Ampilus Egg ~~ Spoils Gotten: None. ~~ Appearance : A grayish-white spherical object. ~~ Other Notes : You can't really kill it. You just pick it up somehow (the Hook Beetle is preferable) and bring it to a power source in the building you're in. It will periodically electrify itself as well, so don't risk picking it up by hand. =============================================================================== Aqua Spume ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A bluish enemy that appears in the water; only really visible as a blue lump with eyes. Likes to shoot water. ~~ Other Notes : Hit it with a Bomb or an Arrow to finish it off. According to Shyguymaster777, you can kill it with a Skyward Strike. Such is true; a strategy I myself often use, but never thought too hard about putting in here. =============================================================================== Aracha ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : Whitish scorpion. ~~ Other Notes : None. =============================================================================== Armos ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A moving statue with some red and blue things on top (the propeller). ~~ Other Notes : To defeat them, hit their head propeller with the Gust Bellows until their mouth opens up. Destroy both crystals on both sides -- one needs a thrust. According to Shyguymaster777, it is best to hit the crystal requiring the thrust first to prevent the longer jump. This is a great idea. =============================================================================== Beamos ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A statue with a cylindrical body and cubic head that shoots lasers from an eye on its head. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat these, early on, approach it and hit any body segments with horizontal/horizontal-spin attacks. After the head hits the ground, thrust your sword into the eye. Later, you can use the Bow to directly hit the eye. To stun it, you can shield bash its laser (not recommended for Iron Shields or their upgrades), or twirl its head with the Gust Bellows. =============================================================================== Blue Bokoblin ~~ Spoils Gotten: Ornamental Skulls, Golden Skulls, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A blue imp, more or less. Can wield various weapons, often a sword. ~~ Other Notes : A good strategy to beat it, sent in by The Shadow Princess, is to shield bash and slice at it. =============================================================================== Blue ChuChu ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A blue blob of jelly that appears only when near a certain locations and will split into two when attacked. ~~ Other Notes : If it touches you, shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to free yourself. Also, I have noticed that you can kill these by putting a Bomb in them by throwing or otherwise. =============================================================================== Bokoblin Archer ~~ Spoils Gotten: Ornamental Skulls, Golden Skulls, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A Red Bokoblin with a bow and arrow. ~~ Other Notes : They use a Bow to attack from a distance. You can pick up any Arrows that miss and hit the ground for yourself. =============================================================================== Bokoblin Leader ~~ Spoils Gotten: Ornamental Skulls, Golden Skulls, Monster Horns, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A Red Bokoblin with a Horn it uses to call reinforcements. ~~ Other Notes : The Monster Horn must be stolen via the Whip. A good strategy to beat it, sent in by The Shadow Princess, is to shield bash and slice at it. =============================================================================== Cranioc ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A shark, more or less. ~~ Other Notes : This enemy only appears in flooded, underwater areas. =============================================================================== Cursed Bokoblin ~~ Spoils Gotten: Ornamental Skulls, Golden Skulls, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A purplish Bokoblin. ~~ Other Notes : Killing with a fatal blow is practically the only option. Plus, showing it the (or an upgrade of) the Sacred Shield sort of scares it. UPDATE - According to snowyappaloosa@yahoo.com, you do NOT need to use fatal blows on the ones released during the Koloktos boss. Thanks! UPDATE - Apparently, you don't NEED fatal blows at all, despite the convenience. As Shyguymaster777 says, you just need 25 hits (based on the lowest level of power you get from the Goddess Sword). =============================================================================== Cursed Keese ~~ Spoils Gotten: Evil Crystals, Monster Claws, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A purplish bat. ~~ Other Notes : Don't let it hit you, as you could get cursed. Shyguymaster777 has also sent in an alternative strategy if you struggle with these (or want a laugh) -- shield bash the Keese and use a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Cursed Spume ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Other Notes : Don't let it hit you, as you could get cursed. Also, defeat it with a Bomb or Arrow. According to Shyguymaster777, you can kill it with a Skyward Strike. Such is true; a strategy I myself often use, but never thought too hard about putting in here. =============================================================================== Dark Lizalfos ~~ Spoils Gotten: Lizard Tails (guaranteed), Evil Crystals, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A dark-purple Lizalfos, still with the spiky tail and armguard. ~~ Other Notes : Basically, attack it until it taunts you, then Spin Attack the exposed flank and go into a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Deku Baba ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A blue plant with a bulbous head rising from grass tufts. ~~ Other Notes : They open either horizontally or vertically. Slice them in that manner, depending on the plant, when the plant is open to finish 'em. You can also use the Beetle to cut down any hanging from anywhere; thanks to WilliamAdams for notifying me of this! Shyguymaster777 has an alternative method for beating these, which simply requires that you shield bash the Deku Baba and horizontally slice it with your sword. This, obviously, is only applicable to ground-based ones. An alternative to the alternative he sent in was to throw a Bomb at it and watch the fun -- just hope it puts it in its mouth. You can connect the lines from there. =============================================================================== Electro Spume ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : Only really seen as a yellow lump in the sand with eyes; can shoot electric shocks. ~~ Other Notes : Defeat it with a Bomb or the Bow. According to Shyguymaster777, you can kill it with a Skyward Strike. Such is true; a strategy I myself often use, but never thought too hard about putting in here. =============================================================================== Fire Keese ~~ Spoils Gotten: Monster Claws, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A bat set aflame. ~~ Other Notes : These will burn you if they run into you. Shyguymaster777 has also sent in an alternative strategy if you struggle with these (or want a laugh) -- shield bash the Keese and use a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Froak ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A blowfish, more or less. Can be out of the water, though. ~~ Other Notes : Whenever it is bloated, if it hits a wall after being hit, it will explode. This can remove rock blockades, too. You can use the Gust Bellows as an alternate to using your sword. The Shadow Princess also notes that the Beetles are suitable alternatives. According to Shyguymaster777, if something comes in contact with it when not bloated, it still explodes. Not fun. =============================================================================== Furnix ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A large bird with a lengthy tail. Pokemon players can relate it to a less-fantastic Ho-oh; Final Fantasy players can relate it to a Phoenix, but without flame. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat this enemy, hit its tail with the Whip, pull it to you, and slice the bird up. =============================================================================== Guardian ~~ Spoils Gotten: None. ~~ Appearance : A sword-wielding enemy only in the Silent Realms. ~~ Other Notes : This enemy only appears in the Silent Realms and cannot be hurt. If it attacks you, you'll need to restart the trial. =============================================================================== Guay ~~ Spoils Gotten: Monster Claws, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A raven or blackbird, more or less. ~~ Other Notes : This enemy, found in Faron Woods, is quite tough to defeat. Mainly because it always moves and it usually out of your sword's reach. Just so you know. But it does give Rupees in 5/20 range. Shyguymaster777 also has a tip for how to more easily beat these - use horizontal Skyward Strikes. However, you REALLY need to lock-on to these; it's very tough otherwise. The Shadow Princess also has advise the use of the Slingshot, Bow, or one of the various Beetles to kill it. =============================================================================== Hrok ~~ Spoils Gotten: Red Rupee (guaranteed), Hearts. ~~ Appearance : The large birds of the outdoors Lanayru Desert that love dropping rocks on your head. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat it, you should use the Hook Beetle to grab a Bomb Flower and drop it on its head. An alternate method, sent in by The Shadow Princess, is to actually put it under the influence of a Timeshift Stone. Unlike other enemies that will reappear after exiting the time influence, the Hrok just ... disappears. =============================================================================== Keese ~~ Spoils Gotten: Monster Claws, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A brown bat. ~~ Other Notes : Shyguymaster777 has sent in a strategy for beating these if you struggle with them (or want a laugh) -- shield bash the Keese and use a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Lizalfos ~~ Spoils Gotten: Lizard Tails (guaranteed), Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A green lizard with an armguard and spiky tail. ~~ Other Notes : Basically, try attacking it until it taunts you, then Spin Attack its exposed flank, then head into a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Magmanos ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A lava hand. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat it, thrust at a water plant and go to the enemy. Lock-on to it and do a (preferably) vertical slice to make the enemy solidify. Then repeatedly smack it with your sword. =============================================================================== Magma Spume ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : Only really visible as a red lump in lava with eyes. It loves to shoot fireballs at you. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat it, use a Bomb or Arrow. And don't let it hit you, as you may get burned. According to Shyguymaster777, you can kill it with a Skyward Strike. Such is true; a strategy I myself often use, but never thought too hard about putting in here. =============================================================================== Moblin ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A big, fat beast with an iron or wooden shield. ~~ Other Notes : There is an easy strategy that applies to both types of Moblin. Dash at its shield and jump over, then start hitting the back. Just watch out for when it falls over! =============================================================================== Moldorm ~~ Spoils Gotten: None. ~~ Appearance : The segmented worm-like enemy found underground. ~~ Other Notes : To kill it, attack its glowing tail end a few times. =============================================================================== Octorok ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : The squid-like enemies you can find in the air. More likely to be seen with tufts of grass on their heads on the ground. ~~ Other Notes : When on foot, shield bash their rocks to kill them. In the air, charge at them with your Loftwing. =============================================================================== Pyrup ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : Sort of a cute, red slug. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat them, chase them into a hole, then roll a Bomb into it. If there is no ground opening, there is a sky opening - throw the Bomb in there. =============================================================================== Remlit ~~ Spoils Gotten: None. ~~ Appearance : A whitish-pinkish cat. You had to rescue one real early in the game. ~~ Other Notes : You cannot really kill these, but you can get harmed by them. Weird why people have these as pets... They'll only hurt you at night; they're quite docile during the day. =============================================================================== Quadro Baba ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A plant with yellow bulb for a head. ~~ Other Notes : They open either horizontally or vertically. Slice them in that manner, depending on the direction, when the plant is open to finish 'em. You can also use the Beetle to cut down any hanging from anywhere; thanks to WilliamAdams for notifying me of this! =============================================================================== Red Bokoblin ~~ Spoils Gotten: Ornamental Skulls, Golden Skulls, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A red imp, more or less. ~~ Other Notes : A good strategy to beat it, sent in by The Shadow Princess, is to shield bash and slice at it. =============================================================================== Red ChuChu ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A blob of red jelly that will split into two whenever you hit it. ~~ Other Notes : Should they touch you, shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to free yourself, lest you get burned. Also, I have noticed that you can kill these by putting a Bomb in them by throwing or otherwise. =============================================================================== Sentrobe ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A spherical mechanism that shoots missiles. ~~ Other Notes : First, shield bash its missiles. Then attack the orbs it releases along the blue lines, then shield bash the missiles again. =============================================================================== Skulltula ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A big spider. Seriously, that's all you need. ~~ Other Notes : To defeat them, when in a web, thrust your sword into the purple underside. You can either walk around it or, when on a silk strand, hit it horizontally to find it. As for if it is on the ground, do a down-up vertical slice, then a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Skytail ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees. ~~ Appearance : Pretty much just birds with long tails. ~~ Other Notes : They are found flying around in the Thunderhead. Generally, they'll leave you alone, except late in-game and in Hero Mode. =============================================================================== Staldra ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A snake with three heads. ~~ Other Notes : Defeat it by striking all three heads near-simultaneously. You can do so after stunning it, or failing the deathblow. =============================================================================== Stalfos ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A big skeleton warrior with two swords. ~~ Other Notes : Mainly, just attack where the openings are. =============================================================================== Stalmaster ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A big skeleton warrior with FOUR swords. ~~ Other Notes : Try attacking the openings. =============================================================================== Takkuri ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees. ~~ Appearance : Those birds you find in the sky that carry Rupees. ~~ Other Notes : You can't really defeat it. All you can do is follow it in the air and charge at it to steal its Rupees that it carries. =============================================================================== Technoblin ~~ Spoils Gotten: Ornamental Skulls, Golden Skulls, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A Red Bokoblin with some technological upgrades, notably an electrified weapon. ~~ Other Notes : Avoid attacking the electrified weapon. A good strategy to beat it, sent in by The Shadow Princess, is to shield bash and slice at it. =============================================================================== Thunder Keese ~~ Spoils Gotten: Monster Claws, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A dark-brown Keese with an electric field. ~~ Other Notes : Avoid attacking them when they're electrified, or you'll be hurting. Shyguymaster777 has also sent in an alternative strategy if you struggle with these (or want a laugh) -- shield bash the Keese and use a fatal blow. =============================================================================== Walltula ~~ Spoils Gotten: Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : A small spider, often found on dungeon vinery. ~~ Other Notes : They are usually on vines. The Gust Bellows is a conservative method of removing them, though the Slingshot is the earliest usable method, except for a sword. Later, you can also use a Beetle to knock them down; thanks to WilliamAdams for letting me know this! =============================================================================== Watcher ~~ Spoils Gotten: None. ~~ Appearance : The "watchmen" of the Silent Realms that wield lanterns. ~~ Other Notes : These only appear in Silent Realms, and cannot be hurt at all. They are generally sentries, and when they catch you, the 90-second protection of the last Tear you grabbed is eliminated. =============================================================================== Yellow ChuChus ~~ Spoils Gotten: Jelly Blobs, Rupees, Hearts. ~~ Appearance : Yellow blobs of jelly that occasionally activate an electric field around them and split into two when attacked. ~~ Other Notes : Do NOT attack this enemy while it is electrified, or you'll get hurt. Also, if it touches you, shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to free yourself. Also, I have noticed that you can kill these by putting a Bomb in them by throwing or otherwise. =============================================================================== 6. Ghirahim (Skyview Temple) *********************SKY6************************* =============================================================================== BOSS: Demon Lord Ghirahim Location: Skyview Temple =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the initial part of the battle, Ghirahim will simply walk towards you. He comes with one hand raised upward, glowing red. The purpose of this is to grab your sword when you slice at him. If he DOES grab your sword, do a down-up vertical slice, or he'll steal the sword. During this time, he also can slap you if you take too long to hit. How do you hit him? Well, you need to lead his hand in one way, then quickly swing in a different way. During this time, if he does manage to steal away your sword, you have two options. You can run around until he throws your sword at you, at which point you can grab it, or you can shield bash him during a slice. Continue attacking for a while, after which it'll change a bit. In the second half of the battle, Ghirahim will use his sword and will use three attacks. One involves teleporting and slashing at you (kind of like Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts). Another involves a running tackle-slash combo, and another has Ghirahim launching five red projectiles at you. For the first attack, just jump around, preferably backwards (because he'll appear from behind, and his position is apparently determined upon actually teleporting). For the second, shield bash Ghirahim to stun him and get a few hits in, or swing at him on the side his sword isn't on. And, for the third, dodge to the side or move your sword in a slash that would reflect as many projectiles as possible, or, as Shyguymaster777 suggests, shield bash them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ dragonslayer719@hotmail.com has sent in an additional strategy: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For the first part, hold your sword in one direction, so that he follows it. Next, get close to him and immediately swing your sword in the opposite direction of his hand. If he does grab your sword, do a vertical strike, starting from the bottom. If he disarms you, just run away and he'll throw the sword at you. Target it and pick it up... before he picks it up again. For second part, simply side-jump away from the projectiles he sends at you. When he disappears, simply wait and perform a spin attack. If timed correctly, you'll hit him. If not, you'll get hit. Alternately, do a few back-flips and run up to him after he strikes. When he's in a running stance, wait and shield bash him so you can get a few hits. If you try to run away from him, you can stop targeting him and dash, but this never worked multiple times for me, so don't try it. Repeat these steps and you'll soon win. 7. Scaldera (Earth Temple) *********************SKY7*************************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Scaldera Location: Earth Temple =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Initially, Scaldera will begin by rolling up the incline; stay off to the side to avoid it. Afterwards, make your way to the top of the incline -- there is a supply of hearts and Bomb Flowers are there. Be sure to hit the boss with one to send it to the bottom of the hill (the boss does this automatically by going too far uphill). Upon recovering, the boss will open its mouth and suck in stuff. THROW a Bomb during this time to stun the boss. This also exposes its eye, its weak point, and your target. Hit it a few times. Once Scaldera recovers, dash back uphill. Scaldera then can shoot several fireballs (just sidestep them), roll back uphill, or do another vacuuming move. After this, it is rinse and repeat, more or less. The only things worth noting include that Scaldera will eventually go uphill using its legs; let it go uphill, then it'll roll downhill. Also note the Bomb/heart supplies at the top and bottom of the incline. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shyguymaster777 has sent in an additional strategy: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the start of the fight, run all the way uphill to restock on Bombs without worrying about it following you to the top since the bombs planted near the top will take him down. When Scaldera rolls down, chase it until it stops and starts sucking air to throw fireballs at you. Right there you should chuck a Bomb to it; it will eat it and explode, exposing its eye and reaching the moment to slash at the eye. If you weren't fast enough, the fireballs can easily be side-stepped, so don't worry. When it climbs back up, run uphill until it stops sparkling, then chuck another Bomb at it to repeat the "Bomb-eating sequence". Then it will move to phase two, where it just raises up and becomes harder to hit. This is not a problem though: just go under it when it goes uphill, then stick to a side of the hill. When the Bomb Flowers take it down, it will go to you; just move to the other side and repeat the "Bomb-eating sequence" until it finally dies. 8. Moldarach (Lanayru Mining Facility) *********************SKY8*************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Moldarach Location: Lanayru Mining Facility =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For the first part of the battle, you'll initially be fighting the boss's two pincers. The pincers' weak points are the eyeballs within. You'll have to hit the eye at a certain angle when the pincer is open -- the angle is pretty easy to guess at, and the game is rather generous with this. If you notice a red eyeball at any point, back off or you'll be hit with a tail sweep attack. Continue hitting the claws until both are destroyed. Additionally note that the boss may, with one pincer left, use its tail to hit you from above. Shyguymaster777 also suggests shield-bashing a pincer attack; in doing so, you can get TWO hits in on one pincer. After destroying both pincers, the real fight begins. You'll notice a third eyeball open up where, I guess, the boss's head is. You can only hit this one with a thrust. After a few hits, the boss will dig into the sand. Now, you'll be able to note where the boss's body is. Try to stay away from there, or you'll be hit with its tail. Use the Gust Bellows to blow away the sand near the boss to eventually bring it aboveground again. Continue to thrust at its eye and later dig it up until it is defeated. 9. The Imprisoned (Sealed Grounds) (#1) *********************SKY9************** =============================================================================== BOSS: The Imprisoned Location: Sealed Grounds =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the start of the battle, the boss's main goal is to walk to the top of the pit and to the temple. This boss will stand upright -- how is that important? Well, this boss has four toes per foot (one is in the back). Begin by slicing at the toes on one foot - three hits destroys a toe. After removing the toes from one foot, the boss will move more slowly, but also summon shockwaves upon stepping down. Avoid these while you proceed to cut off the remaining foot's toes. Afterwards, the boss will fall over backwards. Once it does, run around and down the slope to the boss's head and you'll notice the stone pillar from earlier sticking out from its head. (I'd go crazy too if I had something like that in my head.) Anyhow, you'll need to hit it with down-up vertical slices to damage the boss by driving the stone into the head. After three such hits, the boss will stand back up, charge up the incline at a high speed, and continue walking at a slightly faster pace. Repeat the above processes until the boss is dead -- three rounds of this, or nine hits to the head. Nathan Carlisle has another note worth adding. Normally, when you want to go uphill, you'll end up having to walk. However, you can use the air vents on the battlefield. This helps in when, say, you'll want to get on the boss's head and drive the stone spike in from there. 10. Koloktos (Ancient Cistern) *********************SKY10********************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Koloktos Location: Ancient Cistern =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During the first phase of the battle, the boss is immobile for the most part. It initially attacks by swinging arms at you. Dodge the attack by side-jumping or jumping backwards, then pull out the Whip. Use it to hit the valve on its unarmed arm. *chuckle* Repeat this with the other arm. Once you do, the boss's chest will be open to damage. During this time, the axes from two of the arms are thrown at you, and the other arms try to slam you like the other two before it. Run to the weak point and start slicing. After a period of time, you'll repeat the process thus far until you deal a certain amount of damage. The boss then enters its second phase. Koloktos becomes mobile, walking around with some giant legs and also wielding six swords (the weak point is guarded by a cage, now). During the boss's slicing rampage, stay a fair distance back. Eventually, though, three arms will slam down. Unfasten the valves on one arm with the Whip, then pick up the dropped sword. If possible, slice the boss's torso in a horizontal manner, then hit the cage two/three times, opening up the weak point. Then continue slicing at the cage with the big sword you have. UPDATE: Thanks to user ABXInferno, there is something you must know about fighting the arms. They only come down to slam at you when you are in the pillar circle. Thanks for telling me this! 11. Scervo (Sandship) *********************SKY12******************************* =============================================================================== BOSS: Scervo Location: Sandship =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, more of a mini-boss -- but it doesn't really matter. I highly would prefer you stand for this (it is much easier). Raise your shield and target to target Scervo. Shield bash him as he tries to hit you, then hit him a few times with your sword. Continue doing this to push him off of the plank. As he gets close, he'll also pull out an electrified club. At the end of the plank, he'll push you back and the gate (which damages you if touched) will move closer to you. Repeat this same process a few times to end the battle, making a chest appear. 13. Tentalus (Sandship) *********************SKY13***************************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Tentalus Location: Sandship =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will begin by only seeing the boss's tentacles briefly strike the control room. Exit this room and continue your way to the upper deck. As you proceed through the hall, you'll find two of the boss's tentacles staying in the wall. Be wary -- if you get too close, you'll be grabbed and launched out of the ship. Use a Skyward Strike to get rid of both tentacles, then go through the doorway and upstairs. Here, go along the hall and avoid the barrels; they fall in a left-middle-right pattern that is easy to predict. Continue along to the top floor of the ship. Use the nearby Bird Statue, then go through the door to the deck to find your next boss (the actual fight). Now, for the first phase of the actual fight. You'll initially have to Skyward Strike some of the tentacles that break through the deck -- whenever this thing starts to happen, always have a Skyward Strike at the ready. Move around the whole time and avoid being grabbed and hurt by a tentacle. Slice four down to continue. Tentalus will then rise from the water on one side of the deck. Ready your Bow and aim at the boss's yellow eye, shooting when possible. Note that you can still move around while aiming with the Bow (so as to avoid the arm slams). Once you hit the eye, Tentalus will slump onto the deck. Run up to him and start slicing the eye directly. You'll repeat this, starting from the above paragraph, until Tentalus's eye is damaged enough. Once it is, the second phase begins. The tentacles will literally ravage the deck, similar to Bowser from Yoshi's Island, and you'll have to dash-jump on a nearby crate to the higher ledge. Tentalus will focus on using its head tentacles to attack. Slice the tentacles until you can find a time of relative peace, in which you can hit Tentalus's eye with an arrow. Once this opening is found, blast an arrow at him, then start slicing his eye. Repeat the process if needed until dead. 14. Ghirahim (Fire Sanctuary) *********************SKY14*********************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Demon Lord Ghirahim Location: Fire Sanctuary =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. Additionally, you'll probably notice the red projectiles near him. If he grabs the sword and/or you take too long to hit him or get back your sword, they will hit you. How do you hit him? Well, you need to lead his hand in one way, then quickly swing in a different way. If you DO manage to hit him, be sure to hit multiple times, since he will be very temporarily stunned by the initial hit. After taking a hit, he'll also send some of the red projectiles at you -- shield bash them or use the sword block, like in the last battle. During this time, if he does manage to steal away your sword, you have two options. You can run around until he throws your sword at you, at which point you can grab it, or you can shield bash him during a slash. Continue attacking for a while, after which it'll change a bit. In the second half of the battle, Ghirahim will use his two swords and will use three attacks. One involves teleporting and slashing at you (kind of like Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts). Another involves a running tackle-slash combo, and another has Ghirahim surrounding you with red projectiles. Another has him doing a nosedive onto you -- you can only run around to avoid this, although you can get a few hits in when he lands. He also has a (usually) counterattack whenever you hit his swords rather than him when he holds them up in those configurations. For the first attack, just jump around, preferably backwards (because he'll appear from behind, and his position is apparently determined upon actually teleporting). For the second, shield bash Ghirahim to stun him and get a few hits in, or swing at him on the side his sword isn't on. As for the third, execute a spin attack that will hit all of the projectiles. 15. The Imprisoned (Sealed Grounds) (#2) *********************SKY15************ =============================================================================== BOSS: The Imprisoned Location: Sealed Grounds =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Battling the Imprisoned is similar to the first time around. As before, you want to kill it by repeatedly shoving the stone spike into its head three times (nine hits) before it reaches the temple. You can achieve this by either cutting off the boss's eight toes from its feet, or by using the whirlwinds or a jump from a higher ledge to reach the boss's head. With the latter method, you may be shaken off, but, if not, you have a pretty open shot at the spike. To drive the spike in, use vertical slices appropriate to the situation. However, there is another thing the boss can do other than step on you or use its foot shockwaves (which can be guarded with a shield). It can climb walls. That is partly why Groose's catapult is here -- whenever the Imprisoned tries to climb a wall, if possible, press Up and aim to launch a Bomb at it and stun it. You aim with the Wii Remote, use the Control Stick to move along the wooden track, and press A to shoot. If you EVER hit the Imprisoned with a catapulted Bomb, it is stunned. That is where my strategy comes into play. Rather than get repeatedly battered by the boss's feet, go up to a ledge higher than it and stay above its head. Do not yet jump on its head. Wait for Groose to stun it with a Bomb, then jump on the head and do some up-down vertical strikes. Repeat this process another two times. Note that, after being hit with the spike thrice, the boss will shake you off (when applicable) and then usually do a forward charge. Avoid it and follow it, then repeat. User Shyguymaster777 has sent in another tip: to use the Bow from afar to destroy the Imprisoned's toes. This prevents you from having to do all sorts of running around after the boss. This strategy is different from the one above, but if you're having trouble with it, it is a great alternative. After destroying the toes, it's similar to the first fight -- go to the spike and thrust it into the boss's head. Nathan Carlisle has another note worth adding. Normally, when you want to go uphill, you'll end up having to walk. However, you can use the air vents on the battlefield. This helps in when, say, you'll want to get on the boss's head and drive the stone spike in from there. 16. Levias (Inside the Thunderhead) *********************SKY16***************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Levias Location: Inside the Thunderhead =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once the battle begins, collect any hearts around the island you may need. You can also use this place for some health restoration when needed. Afterwards, dive off the edge and call your Loftwing. Once you do, the battle begins. It is actually quite simple -- there are four eyes trailing behind Levias. You are to Spiral Charge into all four. The bad thing is that this battle is pivotal primarily based on your control of a Loftwing (which is hard enough in this game when you demand accuracy). Then there is that Levias is about as fast as you, then that if the tail or eyes' optic nerves hit you, you lose a heart. I tend to try to approach Levias from the side. He is generally circling during this battle, so I kind of make a chord in the circle to beeline for where his tail end will be. Then I try to Spiral Charge an eye and repeat. The battle ends once you eventually hit all four eyes. 17. Bilocyte (Inside the Thunderhead) *********************SKY17*************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Bilocyte Location: Inside the Thunderhead, atop Levias =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During this battle, the Bilocyte's primary motive of dealing damage will be to shoot green orbs of poison at you. Begin by moving to around the middle of the platform. There, you are to counter the orbs by swinging at them with your sword. Hit one with a left-right horizontal slice, and another with a right-left horizontal slice, to hit the boss's head wings. Then hit another orb vertically to stun the boss, then go up to it and bash it with your sword. Repeat the above process and deal enough damage to the eye to continue. For the second phase of the battle, move as far away as possible from the boss. It will continue to throw the yellow orbs at you, but also will move after shooting the orb. Using the same "physics" as before, hit the orb at the head. You can continue to do this for a while. Alternatively, since your Master Sword has a long range with the Skyward Strike, you can attack it directly with those. However, that would put you in more danger, but it WOULD end the battle quicker. 18. The Imprisoned (Sealed Grounds) (#3) *********************SKY18************ =============================================================================== BOSS: The Imprisoned Location: Sealed Grounds =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Battling the Imprisoned is similar to the last time around. As before, you want to kill it by repeatedly shoving the stone spike into its head three times (nine hits) before it reaches the temple. How do you shove the spike in? Well, let's go in order. For the first third of the battle, you'll have to do one of two things. One: cut off all of its toes. This is quite the feat, seeing as it is moving very fast and releasing shockwaves with each step. I recommend hitting it with one of Groose's Bombs to stun it. Take off the toes on the stunned boss, one foot at a time, then shove in the spike with down-up vertical slices. Alternatively, use the above ledges or the central whirlwind to land on the boss's head, atop which you can use up-down vertical slices if you don't get shoved off. The boss will then get up -- way up -- for round two. It now is flying. You cannot get to it whatsoever until Groose hits it with a Bomb. Once he does, you need to go to the center of pit and do some more down-up vertical slices. The Imprisoned will then start flying again. Groose has also lost his Bomb supply, so you need to get up there. Use the whirlwinds around the pit to get up there. Speak with Groose, then get into the catapult. Aim for the boss's head (slowly adjust your aim at the head to go further back, then, when the big blue circle suddenly goes away, fire). Atop its head, do three up-down vertical slices to finish off the boss. Also note that this tip does only apply to the first third of the battle. Nathan Carlisle has another note worth adding. Normally, when you want to go uphill, you'll end up having to walk. However, you can use the air vents on the battlefield. This helps in when, say, you'll want to get on the boss's head and drive the stone spike in from there. 19. Dreadfuse (Sky Keep) *********************SKY19**************************** =============================================================================== BOSS: Dreadfuse Location: Sky Keep =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, more of a mini-boss -- but it doesn't really matter. Much like last time, you should shield bash him whenever he attacks. While he is stunned, you can use thrusts to attack him, although I found that vertical slices, which are easier to do than thrusts, are also more easily usable. After almost knocking him off, he'll lose his electric weapon and the gate will move closer to you -- as before, don't touch it or you'll get hurt. Knock him off almost a second time and he'll lose his left arm and the gate moves even closer. Repeat the process one last time to finish him. 20. Ghirahim (Hylia's Realm) *********************SKY20************************ =============================================================================== BOSS: Demon Lord Ghirahim Location: Hylia's Realm =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This first part of the battle is rather easy. Ghirahim is now covered in some metallic substance, and cannot be really damaged all to easily. If you hit him, all you do is push him back. Seeing as you're on a platform high above the ground, keep hitting him to push him back, using your shield whenever he tries to attack you. After Ghirahim falls off a platform, jump off of it yourself and do a fatal blow. Continue the cycle described above. Eventually, Ghirahim will start making his hands purple near the edge of a platform. When he does, carefully note their positions and slice between them so as not to touch them. There is a fair space of time before he does anything. However, note that if your sword does touch the purple hands, you and he will reverse positions, so quickly move back around! Continue the cycle until Ghirahim summons his weapon. UPDATE - Thanks to Fwahm, it is worth considering to try and attack in the same direction (ie. vertical) four times, so as to knock Ghirahim's sword away. For this second part of the battle, Ghirahim will swing at you when you're close; shield bash his attack. In fact, any time he directly attacks you, shield bash him and, while remaining locked-on, do a thrust to hit the gem in the center of his torso. You'll want to remain close unless you're, sadly, taking time to heal -- if you're too far, he'll merely shoot the red missiles from battles past or a large disc of energy. Both can be shield blocked. However, the disc can also be hit with your sword in a back-and-forth volley with Ghirahim until you succeed in hitting him with it, stunning him, much like the Phantom Ganon bosses of Wind Waker. Anyhow, continue this until he summons his big sword -- makes me think of Cloud Strife, almost. For the third part of the battle, with the large sword, you'll need to get close and attack directly. Ghirahim will use the sword to block -- if he blocks with the sword vertically, do horizontal slices repeatedly; if he blocks horizontally, do vertical slices. Continue to slice this while targetting him (and do it fast -- he'll soon jump back and heal his sword). Once you cut through the sword, do a thrust to damage him. Repeat a few more times and you will win. 21. Demise (???) *********************SKY21************************************ =============================================================================== FINAL BOSS: Demise Location: ??? =============================================================================== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This strategy was developed by KeyBlade999, the author of this FAQ. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During the first part of the battle, Demise more or less only swings his sword at you, usually as a counterattack, but sometimes otherwise. Either way, you will want to shield bash it to stun him and get a hit in. Offensively, you should keep up your shield and wait for the attack to shield bash, or just repeatedly attack. The first several strikes will be blocked, but the fourth or the fifth strike will get through. (Note that, by strike, I mean an actual slice -- Skyward Strikes are disabled here.) After making your hit, he'll counter, you'll (hopefully) shield bash and get another hit in. That's pretty much all for the first part of the battle -- a block-and-strike session. Remember to keep your shield up at all times, in case he makes an unpredicted strike at you. For the second part, a thunderstorm moves in and Demise, now and at random points in the battle, will let his sword be struck by lightning, effectively electrifying it and removing your original method of striking. He also can now do a pseudo-Skyward Strike that is long distance, but can be shield bashed (except perhaps by the Iron Shield and its upgrades). Your only method of attack would be to raise your sword into the air and walk around, hoping to catch a lightning bolt. However, as you do, Demise will likely rush at you and knock you down -- if you did catch the bolt of lightning, it just left your sword. So, be ready to shield bash at any second and keep an eye on Demise, not Link. Now that you have your sword electrified, you have to wait for Demise to launch his own lightning disc from his sword, or you won't hit him. Once his sword is unelectrified, launch your disc of lightning and hit him. Once you do, move in and hit him a few times with your sword. You'll need to repeat the process above until your lightning disc actually knocks Demise over. The first time, COMPLETELY IGNORE the option for a fatal blow, as it is likely to miss. Instead, just charge up another bolt of lightning. The second and later times, do go for the fatal blow. Link's sword will be infused with lightning and, hopefully, pierce Demise's chest, ending the battle. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ +++ +++ This is the end of KeyBlade999's +++ +++ The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Enemy/Boss FAQ. +++ +++ +++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ________________ | ____________ | | | | | | | | | | |____________| |________________________________________ | |____________| |_________________________ | | | | | | |\ /\ /| | | | | | | | \ / \ / | | | |____________| | | | (_) (_) | | |________________| |_| |_| ___ ___ ___ /'__`\ /'__`\ /'__`\ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \ \_\ \ \_\ \ \_\ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ KeyBlade999
