Although I make these guides for free in my spare time, I probably don’t need to point out to gamers that purchasing games is an extremely expensive hobby (games in Australia cost on average $90 - $120) and writing guides for them can be a very long, incredibly difficult and thankless task at the best of times, but one that is very challenging and occasionally rewarding. Considering you could be paying upwards of $20+ for guides in a game shop, these free and easily available guides make a cost-effective substitute. Whilst most are happy to use and move on without a word I would move that a simple donation is a great, easy way to say thanks if you feel that my guide has saved you some time, money and frustration in some small way. By no means feel obligated to donate just for viewing my guide, but if you are feeling a little generous I certainly won’t object! Any amount is appreciated whether it be 10 cents or $10. This will cause additional damage to all necromorphs and will also hinder their movement. > Use stasis an dkeep stasis packs in your inventory at all times. Dead Space 3 has a tendancy to send large numbers of enemies at you quite regularly and stasis has the ability to temporarily pause them in their tracks. This allows you some extra time to either escape or to take down a necromorph or two before it wears off. > Speaking of running away, in higher difficulties it is not always a necessity to kill all enemies before proceeding. Sometimes it is much easier to just stick aggressors into stasis and run for the next door! > Kinesis can be used not only to solve puzzles in the game, but to pick up objects from the environment and throw them at enemies. Try pulling blades from a fallen slasher or melee weapons from a waster and throw them at their friends! > Upgrade your RIG early and often! Additional health/armor and stasis enhancements are all extremely useful. > Explore everywhere - The world is larger than any Dead Space game that has come before and it is not empty! The developers have hidden lots of collectibles and additional items in some odd places to reward exploration. > Experiment with weapon parts, tools, tips and attachments to create a weapon that you feel comfortable with. Creating a decent long range and short range weapon can easily get you through the whole game if you apply upgrade circuits along the way. > Always carry a torque bar or two around with you. These bad boys can be constructed at benches and act like power nodes from Dead Space 1 & 2 in allowing you to unlock doors. > Keep a spare pair of underpants at close range. Whilst it is not as scary as Dead Space or Dead space 2, there are still quite a few jumpy moments and its always best to be prepared! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Got a hint or tip? Send me an email and let me know, if I like it I will include it in the guide and credit you for your contribution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== =============================================================================== =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------[WLKTH] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | || || | | | | _ | | | | | || || | ____| | | _| |_ | | _ ____ ___ _ _ ____| | _ | ||_|| |/ _ | | | / ) _)| || \ / ___) _ \| | | |/ _ | || \ | |___| ( ( | | | |< (| |__| | | | | | |_| | |_| ( ( | | | | | \______|\_||_|_|_| \_)\___)_| |_|_| \___/ \____|\_|| |_| |_| (_____| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== This walkthrough will provide players with the fastest route for each Act from beginning to the end. Lets get started, shall we? =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Awakened 1: Requiem [AWK01] =============================================================================== Collectibles: | ] -------------- ] Artifacts.............0 ] We’ll begin the expansion in an icy cave. Return to the grappling hook. Climb to the top of the cliff and a scene will play. After the cut-scene, follow the ledge around to the left and enter the door that opens at the end. Inside you will find a Bench and a Suit Kiosk use them both if you require them and stomp the crates scattered around the room. On the ground to the right of the bench you will find an UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 1/4]. Grab this and when you are ready continue through the door on the far side of the room from the entry. As you exit, immediately turn right and follow the short path here around the corner to find a WEAPON PART – DIRECTED SUSPENSION FIELD [Weapon part 2/4]. Grab this and return back past the entrance and approach the figure ahead. As you reach him, he will transform into a slasher. Kill him and a pair of Carriers will spawn further on into the room and they will also be joined by a pair of super spitters. Eliminate them all and continue to the far end of the room. Use the panel here to hack open the nearby door and enter when you are able to do so. Climb the ladder in front. At the top immediately turn to your left to see a WEAPON PART – COMPACT STANDARD FRAME [Weapon Part 3/4] on a platform near the wall. Kinesis this to bring it over to you and have Isaac grab it. Follow the walkway around until a scene occurs. Isaac will hallucinate and find himself in a different room. Turn around and you will see a group of shadowy feeders coming at you. Fend them off – there are 3 groups of 4-5 feeders. Once they are dead you’ll be back in the real world. Climb the ladder in front again. Follow the platform around and go through the open door at the end. As you exit through the door a pair of alien necromorphs will appear at the far end of the room. Kill them as they approach and remember to kill those crawlers they send at you as well! When its clear continue across the room and around the corner from where they came. Once the tentacle blocking your way moves, enter the tunnel it was blocking and follow it through to the room at the far end. As soon as you enter the next room, turn right. Follow the small side-passage here to the end and kill the group of 10-12 Feeders present here. Look at the back of the room for a WEAPON PART – AMMO SUPPORT [Weapon Part 4/4]. There is also a scavenger bot location here. When ready, return back to the main room. Continue across until you can see the next door. As you approach it, a group of feeders will attack from in front and behind. At this point, immediately sprint back to the entrance tunnel so that they cannot come up on you from behind and try to pop them all as they approach. There is a large number of them (I lost count at 20). When they stop coming, head back across the room and look under the overhead pipe opposite the exit for an UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 2/4]. Continue through the door. In this next room is a bench on the right if you need it and on a table in the back right hand corner of the room is an AUDIO LOG to listen to. Note that this one does not count towards your collectible totals. Continue through the next door. Continue straight ahead until you see a tentacle blocking your path in the distance. As you approach it a number of necromorph tendrils will emerge from below the cliffs on either side of it. As soon as you see them, immediately turn around – a group of 3 twitchers will have appeared. Kill them all before turning around and killing the three tendrils from a distance outside of their attack range. Once they are gone, the tentacle blocking your path will also be removed. Cross the bridge and kill the pair of twitchers that jump out of the snow on the far side. Destroy the crates here if you like and then hop into the elevator and take it up to the next platform. Run down the passage opposite and enter the door at the end. After going through the door, look to the right to find a TEXT LOG [LOG 1/2]. Exit out the door opposite. You will end up in a courtyard full of cargo crates. You will also notice that it is occupied by stalkers. Conveniently the wind and snow will pick up at this time severely limiting your vision to a few meters in front. There are 4 stalkers in the first area. Once they are dead, follow your objective tracker over to the left. As you continue past a large hole in the ground to the left another group of 6-7 stalkers will attack. Retreat to the courtyard full of crates and take them out. Once it is safe, continue past the hole in the ground I mentioned earlier. Behind this to the left you will find a vehicle with an UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 3/4] sitting on top. Grab it and continue towards where your objective locator wants you to go. You will have to kill another 4 stalkers in this area. When you are done, climb the ladder to the next area. Enter the door here and once you are inside, go on through the door on the right. There is a bench here so use this to make a TORQUE BAR. Explore the right side of the room. Grab the TEXT LOG [Log 2/2] from the counter on the left and use a Torque Bar to unlock the door. Inside on a bookshelf you will find another UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 4/4]. Return to the main room and exit through the door opposite the entrance. Head in the door along the hallway to the left. We are outside again. As you exit the building a scene will play showing you where you need to go. Head to the left and as you approach the makeshift ramp over the pipes in the centre of the area the screen will go red. At this point, 5-6 slashers will appear. Kill them. Once the screen goes back to normal, head over to the ramp in the centre of the area and use it to climb the pipe to the other side of the courtyard. Turn right and hit one of the control panels here. After a short scene run back over to the ladder. As you approach, the screen will go red again and a group of 5-6 slashers will appear. After killing a few of these a pair of lurkers will also show up. Kill them all and the screen will return to normal. Climb the ladder and interact with the control panel on the side of the shuttle here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: At this point you will unlock the achievement/trophy ‘Get to the Chopper!’. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Awakened 2: Infidels [AWK02] =============================================================================== Collectibles: | ] -------------- ] Artifacts.............0 ] From the start of this mission we will be in zero Audio/Text Logs.......3 ] gravity. There is a scavenger bot Circuits..............2 ] location and some oxygen tanks up here if you wish _________________________] to partake in either. When you are ready go on through the unlocked door nearby. In the next hallway, head up the stairs to the left. Enter the lift here and you will notice that the third floor is not yet accessible, so select the second Floor option. Upon exiting, grab the medkit from the floor in front and continue down the hallway to the left and take the door at the end. You will find yourself on the bridge. Look to the right of the pilot’s seats. On a short desk here you will find an UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 1/2]. Go up either set of stairs and kill the pair of wasters at the top. When they are dead, look on the ground below the holographic panel to find a TEXT LOG [Log 1/3]. Use the blue panel here and complete the hacking mini game. After the hacking, backtrack to the previous elevator and this time you can use it to travel up to the third floor. Go ahead and do that when you get the chance. As you exit the lift, look at the floor below the suspended corpse directly in front of you for a TEXT LOG [Log 2/3]. Continue down the short hallway to the right and descend via the ladder at the end. Enter the room via the door at the bottom. There is some kind of religious ceremony going on in here. Watch it if you like and make for the far end of the room. They will not attack you for the moment. When the screen goes red, turn around and look back towards where the cultists were. A number of wasters will appear here and attack. Note that this red gameplay segment goes on and off several times and each time, the wasters may be in a different location. Try not to get cornered and fend them off until the world returns to normal. Loot the area and wait a few moments. After a short period of time, the tram will appear. Enter the tram and use the control panel to ride it to ‘Mid-Station’. After getting off the tram, head up the stairs. Go into the left hand door if you wish to use a bench and find a WEAPON PART – STASIS SUPPORT [Weapon Part 1/2]. When you are ready, return to the main room and use the lift on the right. Get off the lift and head down the hallway to the left. When the screen goes red, be sure to mash the indicated button to continue. Follow the hallway around until you find the next door. Go on through it. Climb the stairs at the back of the rom and as you work your way to the top, you will see more cultists. Again they will not attack you just yet. Approach the leader and as you come into range the screen will go read and he will transform into a super waster. Kill him and the other wasters that show up. After a few moments the red screen will change again and there will be a Waster/Twitcher style enemy that cannot be killed. This is the Unitology prophet. Back away from him until the screen goes back to normal. At this point a swarm of 5-6 feeders will appear. Kill them and the Prophet will appear again. Once more, you will be unable to kill him so back away from him until the world goes back to normal. Climb to the top of the stairs and enter the unlocked door at the far end of the walkways. Note that from now on the Prophet will appear in random spots to freak you out a little. Kill the waster in here and grab the TEXT LOG [Log 3/3] from the table next to the exit door. Before leaving, you will also find a resource cache in this room for your scavenger bot if you are interested. Go through the door and loot the lockers and the crates here before continuing through the door when you are ready to continue. Climb up the stairs in front of you and follow the walkway into the room on the left. Proceed through the door opposite and take the lift on the left down to the lower level. Follow the set path around to the right and through the pair of doors here until you reach a room with a ladder directly in front of you. Before climbing down the ladder, check out the shelves along the walkway to the right for an UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 2/2]. Go down the ladder. At the base of the ladder you will find a Suit Kiosk and a Bench. Use these as required. When you are ready, head back up the ladder and into the lift at the end of the walkway. We are now at the spire at the top of Conning Tower. As you enter, turn to the right and look in the corner along the wall here for a WEAPON PART – DAMAGE SUPPORT [Weapon Part 2/2]. Now look towards the window at the far end of the room. Head over here and approach the blue cylindrical object sitting on a crate at the very front of the room for a scene. You will be teleported to another area. Here the Prophet will appear and walk towards you. Again you will be unable to kill him. Additionally, whilst you avoid him, groups of 3-4 feeders will also spawn and attack. Kill the feeders whilst keeping away from the invulnerable enemy. After a moment you will see a marker on the far side of the area from where you arrived in the area. When it glows yellow you can shoot it. Keep moving around the room avoiding the big bad guy and killing feeders whilst shooting the marker when able. Once the marker has taken enough damage you will be returned to the real world again. When you return, pick up the shock drive to begin the next mission. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Awakened 3: Perdition [AWK03] =============================================================================== Collectibles: | ] -------------- ] Artifacts.............0 ] After grabbing the shock drive, return to the Audio/Text Logs.......0 ] elevator and take it back down. Go through the Weapon Parts..........1 ] next door at the bottom (you can use the ladder to Blueprints............0 ] go down and use the suit kiosk/Bench if you need Circuits..............1 ] them). Kill the waster in here and proceed through _________________________] the nearby door. Follow the walkway around until you reach the lift. Hit the control panel to call the lift. As it reaches the lower level the screen will go red and the invincible Prophet will appear on it. Back away from him until he disappears and then ride the lift up to the next level. Continue along the walkway, down the stairs and through the next door. Approach the door on the left. As you try and open it, the screen will turn red and 5-6 wasters will be in the small room with you. Kill them all (stasis is great for this!) and the world will return to normal. Now go through the door and continue across the next room, enter the next door at the end of the short hallway. Go down the stairs on the far right of the room and enter the unlocked door at the bottom. Backtrack to the elevator leading to the ‘Mid-Section’ tram area. Take it down to where we came from. Get into the tram and take it to the ‘Aft-Section’ station. After arriving, head up either set of stairs. Here you can refill your stasis from the panel on the right if you like and then head on through the unlocked door on the left. Loot this room and use a torque bar on the door to the left here. Inside you will find a WEAPON PART – DIFFRACTION TORUS [Weapon Part 1/1], a large med pack and an UPGRADE CIRCUIT [Circuit 1/1]. Return out of the torque bar room and use the other unlocked door to continue. As you enter this room, use the bench to the right if you need it and then continue up the stairs. After a short conversation the lights will go out. You will now encounter a new enemy that plays almost the same as the Unitology Commandos in the main campaign. As such they will use rapid fire weapons to shoot you and you can see where they are aiming via the laser aimers on their weapons. The screen will go red and they will appear all over the place. It’s a matter of finding and killing them over and over until a scene plays (I killed 8-9 of them before I was done). After the scene you will find yourself in another place again. Move forward until the Prophet appears. Run away from him. Note that this time he can use stasis on you, so try and put as much distance between Isaac and him as you can and avoid the blue balls that come flying in your direction (that sounded unintentionally dirty!). Once the marker on the side of the area starts glowing yellow, shoot it until it’s destroyed. This will stun the Prophet and he will slump to his knees. At this point a pair of ‘super’ feeders and a ‘super’ slasher will spawn and come to attack you. Pop them into stasis immediately. Now try to get in a few shots on the Prophet and shoot him until he disappears. Now kill the other enemies. After a few moments the Prophet will reappear. Note that there are three markers around the area (well 2 now that we have destroyed one). We need to repeat the process of shooting the marker when able, then shooting the Prophet when he falls to his knees. Each time we destroy a marker from here on, you will need to also deal with 2 ‘super’ wasters and 2 ‘super’ feeders each time. So again try to stick them in stasis, kill the prophet and then kill them. Once you have caused the prophet to de-spawn three times, you will return to the real world. The prophet will be on the ground in front of you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: There are two achievements/trophies at this point. If you shoot him, you will earn the achievement/trophy 'Heretic'. If you let him live, you will earn the achievbement/trophy 'True believer'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now head on down to the elevator. Ride it to the next area. Upon exiting the elevator, we are back in the generator room! As you exit the lift, turn left and follow the walkway to the end. Use the stasis recharge station here if you need some stasis and then interact with the nearby generator panel to install the shock drive. Hit the panel next to this. This will cause the core in the centre of the room to start spinning which in turn will allow the room to become a zero gravity environment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: There is an achievement/trophy at this point. To earn this we need to restart the core within 90 seconds. Follow the walkthrough below to get it. If you don’t get it before leaving the room, reload the checkpoint and try again! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you look at the core you will notice that there are three holes in it, one in each of the top, centre and bottom segments. If you look around the room, you should also be able to make out 3 tubes on the walls around the outside of the room with circular yellow labels on them. Below each of these is a crank we can use kinesis on. This will open the tube and release a glowing ball-shaped object. We need to grab this, use stasis on the core to slow it down and fire the ball into one of the holes. After this happens, three glowing yellow pillars will rise up around the base of the core, quickly destroy them (if you don’t you will have to start over again). Repeat the process of opening the tubes, slowing the core, firing the ball into the core and then destroying the heat syncs as they emerge around the base of the core three times. After the core has been reset, go through the open door on the walkway to the right of where we entered. Hit the control panel to the left of the platform to be ejected out of the door. We’ll now be flying towards the platform in the distance. Move Isaac around so that he avoids the falling debris and the flame spouts whilst shooting at the mines in the distance. When you reach the far end, line Isaac up with the vent with green lights surrounding it and hit it for a scene. Go through the next pair of doors, run down the stairs in the next room and when you reach the pilot seats, hit the control panel on the back of the left hand one for a scene to complete the DLC. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: At this point you will unlock the achievement/trophy ‘Bad Moon Rising'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =============================================================================== =============================================================================== =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------[ACHMT] _ _ /\ | | (_) _ / \ ____| | _ _ ____ _ _ ____ ____ ____ ____ | |_ ___ / /\ \ / ___) || \| |/ _ ) | | / _ ) \ / _ ) _ \| _) /___) | |__| ( (___| | | | ( (/ / \ V ( (/ /| | | ( (/ /| | | | |__|___ | |______|\____)_| |_|_|\____) \_/ \____)_|_|_|\____)_| |_|\___|___/ _ _______ _ _ | | (_______) | | (_) ____ ____ _ | | _ ____ ___ ____ | | _ _ ____ ___ / _ | _ \ / || | | | / ___) _ \| _ \| || \| |/ _ )/___) ( ( | | | | ( (_| | | |_____| | | |_| | | | | | | | ( (/ /|___ | \_||_|_| |_|\____| \______)_| \___/| ||_/|_| |_|_|\____|___/ |_| ____________________________________ | Achievements/Trophies Unlock Guide | |____________________________________| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== The Awakened DLC adds on an additional 8 achievements/trophies for you to earn and they are tied mainly into completeing the DLC, although they cover all bases with one for forging a new weapon, a co-op only achievement/trophy and a few mission-specific tasks/choices. Enjoy! =============================================================================== Donations =============================================================================== After a few generous emails and suggestions from readers and because donations seems to be a growing trend among other contemporary guide writers, I have decided to put in the option to allow you to donate some money to me for helping you out if you wish to do so. Thankyou far all that read this far, if you are interested in donating, my Paypal address is listed below, if not, don't forget to hit that recommend button at the top of the page to help me out!
