I have made this FAQ to enhance your experience within Final Fantasy XIII-2. PS. This is my first FAQ so I hope that it’s as good to you as it is to me. Websites allowed to host this guide: www.Gamefaqs.com www.supercheats.com www.neoseeker.com =========================================================================== PURPOSE OF FAQ SEC3 =========================================================================== The purpose of this FAQ is to supply you with the best possible farming areas within the game. To maximize CP and/or Gil gain I will go over the areas in great detail. I will also go over Noteworthy: Items, Fragment Skills and Monsters to make the farming process as smooth and quick as possible. Please Note that this guide is based on you having completed the game however I will note any locations that I find to be a good place to farm pregame. Also if anyone has any farming tips and would like to share them then I will be happy to add them here and give full credit to the contributor. =========================================================================== WHAT IS FARMING SEC4 =========================================================================== What is Farming? Well farming is a process of you killing or doing the same thing over and over again to achieve something. In this case it’s to get Crystarium Points and Gil. =========================================================================== CRYSTARIUM POINT FARMING SEC5 =========================================================================== Right now to the FAQ here is where I believe to be the best places for CP gain. All farming locations Ive noted here is expected to be done Postgame. Now that being said you should have atleast 3-4 roles at lvl 99 to complete most of the locations mentioned. =========================================================================== Academia-400AF =========================================================================== Enemy: Taxim, Nelapsi. Recommended Setup: COM/COM/COM Whats Needed: Rolling in CP fragment skill & Encounter Master Skill. This can be done the first time you come here but it just takes longer I was averaging about 40secs—110secs per battle. Method: With an average encounter of about 1-2 Taxim and 3-4 Nelapsi or 6-7 Nelapsi. The CP per battle is within the region of 800-1400 which is a fair amount giving the fact you get that so quickly. So if we have a battle every 20 or so seconds and they last 20 seconds then we get a return with the x2 CP fragment [72,000-126,000] per hour. =========================================================================== Yaschas Massif 01XAF =========================================================================== Enemy: Narasimha (Behemoth) Recommended Setup: 1.RAV/RAV/COM 2.COM/COM/COM 3.MED/MED/MED Whats Needed: Rolling in CP fragment skill, Battle mania fragment skill and Encounter Master Skill. Location: Area with the searchlights in Yaschas Massif. Now be careful this guy can be a little hard to take down quickly stagger using 1 then finish with 2 heal with 3 if needed. Once dead he offers between 3000-4000 CP with x2 CP fragment skill. So gains are about 80,000-120,000 CP per hour assuming the battles last 60 seconds. =========================================================================== Oerba 400AF =========================================================================== I highly recommend you get most roles 4+ to lvl99 before taking on this enemy. Enemy: Raspital Recommened Setup: 1.COM/COM/COM 2.RAV/RAV/COM 3.SAB/SAB/SYN 4.MED/MED/MED Whats needed: Battle mania fragment skill, Rolling in CP fragment skill, Durable collectors catalog x2 also Encounter Master Skill. This fight can be done without any skills just he will be hard to locate. Location: Rare spawn Oerba 400AF usually found on the beach. Stragety: I would start off with 3 and start debuffing him with Deprotect, Deshell and Imperil. Once completed switch to 2 and build up the stagger guage. When he is staggared switch to 1 and run is HP down rinse and repeat if necessary. !!!Note!!! He will summon minions from time to time just kill them and back to work on Raspital. ETA 3-5 mins Spoils: Raspital gives 50,000 CP and 150,000 Gil just for killing him. He also drops Scarletite x3 so this makes for one of the best places to farm CP and Gil late Postgame. =========================================================================== GIL FARMING SEC6 =========================================================================== Here are the best places I have found so far for GIL Farming. I wont note Raspital method here as its already covered above. !!!NOTE!!! Proto Fal'cie adam (paradox) is a good method who is noted in monster material farming section. =========================================================================== Bresha Ruins-100AF =========================================================================== 3+ Role levels at 99 for this one Enemy: Don Tonberry Whats needed: Battle mania fragment skill,Durable collectors catalog x2 and Encounter Master Skill. Recommended Setup 1.COM/RAV/RAV 2.COM/COM/COM 3.MED/MED/MED Location: Anywhere in the ruins. Rare spawn. Stragety: Start with 1 work the stagger guage once staggered switch to 2 heal using 3 if required. ETA 30-100 Seconds. Spoils: Don Tonberry drops 18,360 Gil per fight He also has a 99% chance of dropping Scarletite sells for 18,700 with haggler. This assumes you are using Durable collectors catalog x2. Total Gains: 37,360 GIL per battle or a maximum of 55,760. Minimum-Maximum gain per hour 1.482.400 GIL - 2,223,600 GIL. =========================================================================== Archylte Steppe-???AF Stormy Weather =========================================================================== Be around 4+ role levels at 99 to farm Yomi effectivly. Enemy: Yomi Whats needed: Durable collectors catalog x2. Recommended Setup 1.COM/COM/COM 2.RAV/RAV/COM 3.MED/SEN/MED 4.SAB/SYN/SYN Stragety: Right what you want to do is open up with 2 try and get a quick stagger if you can swich to 1 and burn him down. When he uses his shield and he will switch to 4 buff up and debuff him when his shield goes down, stagger with 2 and finish him with 1 rinse and repeat if needed. Use 3 if you need to heal. Spoils: Yomi will drop 144,000 per kill, He also drops Trapezohedron. !!!NOTE!!! You need to have done the mission to fight him and to reset, you need to leave to historia Crux. Total Gains: 864,000 per hour give or take how long it takes you to reset. =========================================================================== Academia 500AF =========================================================================== You need to do time reversal here everytime you want to do this fight. Enemy: Pacos Luvulite and Pacos Amethyst Whats needed: Durable collectors catalog x2. Recommended Setup: 1.RAV/RAV/RAV 2.COM/COM/COM 3.SAB/SAB/MED Stragety: If you are doing this post game then you know you can do this. If not you need to start with 4 debuff both enemies then switch to 1 Stagger then nuke down with 2. Don't! kill him yet as you need to kill the other first, Once one is killed quickly kill the other or it will revive his friend. Spoils: He drops Scarletite 30% and Platinum Ingot 1% with both Catalogs you will have a high chance of getting atleast the Scarletite. Gains are about 18,700-147,000 Per Battle Total Gains: 205,700-1.617,000 Per Hour =========================================================================== MONSTERS,ITEMS AND FRAGMENT SKILLS SEC7 =========================================================================== ===================== MONSTERS ===================== --------------- GREEN CHOCOBO --------------- Ability: CPx2 Role: Medic Where to Find: Yaschas Massif 100AF Recruit rate 15% -------------- DON TONBERRY -------------- Ability: CPx2 ROLE: Commando Where to Find: Bresha Ruins 100AF Recruit rate: 10% !!!Note!!! Both of the above monsters require max level to obtain the CPx2 ability. Also I wont list any infusion tips as this is a farming FAQ not a Min-Maxing guide. ---------------- GOLDEN CHOCOBO ---------------- Role: Commando Where to Find: Dying World 700AF Location: Hidden treasure ball north of bridge leading to western area !!!Note!!! Please level this Chocobo to Level 45 before doing the Chocobo Races makes it 10* easier. ------------- CHUNERPETON ------------- Ability: Gilfinder II (Stacks with Durable Collectors Catalog) Role: Commando Where to Find: Yaschas Massif 110AF Recruit Rate: 10% --------- CRAWLER --------- Ability: Gilfinder II Role: Commando Where to Find: Yaschas Massif 100AF Recruit Rate: 10% ------------ Frag Leech ------------ Ability: Gilfinder II Role: Commando Where to Find: Oerba 200AF Recruit Rate: 15% ------------ CALAUTUDON ------------ Ability: Gilfinder II & Item Scavanger II (increases normal drops) Role: Sentinel Where to Find: Sunleth Waterscape 300AF Recruit Rate: 10% ------------ SPIRANTHES ------------ Ability: Item Collector (Increase rare drops) Role: Medic Where to Find: Yaschas Massif 010AF/01XAF Recruit Rate: 25% ===================== ITEMS ===================== ----------------------------------------------- COLLECTORS CATALOG/DURABLE COLLECTORS CATALOG ----------------------------------------------- What it Does: Increased item drop, increased GIL and increased rare item drop STACKS! (Only the Increased Gil stacks.) How to get: You need to win the Chocobo Races at Serendipity. Use the Golden Chocobo (lvl45) for this. Go to Serendipity then race your Chocobo to the Fal’cie class which is the final class I believe. Once there you will want to select the race “Dahaka’s Stake” Win this race two times and vola you have two Catalogs. Once you have both you need to upgrade them with: 4x Sunpetal found on Microchu in Archylte Steppe ???AF During wet weather on the west side. Also 4x Phoenix Blood buy from Serendipity’s shop for 1600 chips (16000 GIL). Once completed buy Durable Collectors Catalog from Chocolina in Archylte Steppe ???AF 30,000 GIL each with haggler fragment skill. ===================== FRAGMENT SKILLS ===================== ----------------------------- BATTLE MANIA FRAGMENT SKILL ----------------------------- What it Does: (Increases the spawn rate of rare monsters) How to get: To get this skill you need to get 100% map completion in all areas and return to Miss Horizon in Academia 400AF. Once her mission is completed return to the Mystic in Serendipity and collect skill. --------------------------------- ENCOUNTER MASTER FRAGMENT SKILL --------------------------------- What it Does: (Increases/Decreases the spawn rate of generic monsters) How to get: To get this skill you will need to collect all Fragments from every version of Yaschas Massif. !!!Note!!! you will need to unlock Bresha Ruins 100AF before you can do this. -------------- CLOCK MASTER -------------- What it Does: (Increases the speed of the entire game includes cutscenes) How to get: You need to collect all 160 fragments to get this skill, So it may take a while to get it but it is worth it to farm alot faster. =========================================================================== MONSTER MATERIAL FARMING SEC8 =========================================================================== Please use Durable Collectors Catalog before farming materials, Encounter Master Skill and Clock Master will help also. ---------------------- GRADE 1 (BIOLOGICAL) ---------------------- Potent Droplet: Location: Bresha Ruins 005AF Anywhere Enemy: Gremlin Setup: COM/COM/COM Gains: 1-5 Per Battle Vitality Location: Do time reversal on Sunleth Waterscape 300AF then when you come to first Royal Ripeness defeat him and afterwards kill him again in full power state (Thats without getting the artefact). Setup: 1.COM/COM/COM 2.RAV/RAV/RAV 3.SAB/SAB/SYN 4.MED/MED/MED Stragety: I would start off with 3 and stick Deprotect and Deshell once that has been done switch to 2 and work up the stagger to about 600%. Then switch to 1 and wither his HP to nothing. Heal using 4 and keep both debuffs on him he also casts poison on your team. Gains: 1-4 Per Battle Mana Crystal: Location: Archylte Steppe ???AF Stormy Weather Clearwater Marshes. Enemy: Ispusteke Setup: 1.RAV/RAV/RAV 2.COM/COM/COM 3.MED/MED/MED Stragety: This guy is a pain not only does he hit hard he also has a sheild until staggared also there are sometimes two of them. Best way to kill him is start with 1 quickly stagger. then use 2 to kill Ispusteke heal using 3 if needed. Gains: 1-6 Per Battle. !!!NOTE!!! if you can kill Ispusteke with his shield up they will drop Vitality Crystals not Mana Crystals (Thanks to a guy named Stacey for that.) Power Crystal: Location: Archylte Steppe ???AF Cloudy/Sunny Weather Clearwater Marshes. Enemy: Moblin Setup: COM/COM/COM Gains: 1-7 Per Drop. !!!NOTE!!! (Thanks to physicsdm for the tip) =========================================================================== Augusta Tower 200AF Sent in by physicsdm =========================================================================== Do time reversal here and just play until you get access to the central lift. Now since you have all keys you can just ride the lift all the way to the top floor. Be around 4+ role levels at 99 for this. Enemy: Proto Fal'cie Adam (Paradox Version) Whats needed: Durable collectors catalog x2 and Paradox Scope fragment skill. Recommended Setup 1.COM/COM/COM 2.RAV/RAV/RAV 3.MED/MED/MED Stragety: Ok even early postgame this fight is quite easy. Start off with 1 kill both of his arms once that is done switch to 2 quickly stagger Adam then once he is at 600% stagger go back to 1 and quickly kill heal using 3 if needed. Spoils: If you kill Adam with 5* battle grade you will get Vitality Generator, Mana Generator and Power Generator all x2 this only takes about 30-90 seconds. !!!NOTE!!! If you reenter Augusta Tower without opening the gate again you can fight Adam again and again till you have enough materials. This is also a good place for gil farming you get six genrators which with haggler fragment skill sell for 4,400 each. Gains: 26,400 Per Battle 528,000 Per Hour. =========================================================================== QUESTIONS & ANSWERS SEC9 =========================================================================== Most questions that people email me with relevance to this FAQ will be posted here with my response. =========================================================================== LEGAL SEC10 =========================================================================== This document is Copyright (c) Ian Cowan (SRGDUCK) This FAQ was written to help all who read it with a no profit intention.
