What this means is that their are going to be Trophies in this guide as well. I also noticed that I somehow forgot to put in the Description for one of the achievements when I posted this. How in the world did that get past my sensors and no one noticed it and told me about for the longest time, I'll never know. It has been corrected. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Part 2: Intro + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hey Guys, welcome to my next guide in my series of works. As you can tell from my user name, my name is Gamer364. This guide is designed to help all players playing this game unlock all the achievements (including the DLC ones). I know there's an achievement guide on GameFAQs already, but it didn't even include the DLC achievements at the time of writing this, so I figured I try to make one. I know you guys probably don't like long Intros, so I'll get on with the guide already. Update: To those playing the PS3 version, replace the word "Achievements" with Trophies, since you guys can play that version of the game now. Warring: This guide can and will contain spoillers. I will do my best to not spoill stuff from the game, but sometimes it just can not be helped, so read at your own risk. ****************************************************************************** | Part 3: Achievement/Trophy Overview | ****************************************************************************** Achievement/Trophy difficulty (on a scale of 1 through 5, 5 being the hardest): 3 Number of Achievements: 49 (with DLC) 45 without DLC Number of Trophies: 47 Least amount of playthroughs to get all Achievements: 3 (more suggested) Number of Missable Achievements/Trophies: 11 Details: While the game is not that hard to play, it does have some time consuming achievements (Mainly the power related ones like the Stasis, and all of the ally achievements, espeically the Asari Ally achievement). Unlocking certain achievements will unlock special perks that you can use in your furture playthroughs. Only your character can use these perks. For example, unlocking the level 50 achievement will give you 5% more Exp. than normal for the duration of your 100% journey and beyond. Other than that, not much to say here. Update: Thanks to the fact that Bioware included this game into the list of games that have Trophies, their are other things I should mention. The PS3 version doesn't have the Pinnacle Station DLC (as far as I know), so I didn't update the DLC with Trophies. Also, I'm not sure if the bounses you get for unlocking some of these achievements also appear in the PS3 version as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Part 4: Your team set-up for your jouney to 100% - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is not something I would normally do in my guides outside of walkthroughs (which I had one in the works at the time), but I really need to include it in this guide. Over the course of your 3+ playthroughs, you'll want to have your character in certain classes, so you can unlock certain achievements/trophies. Two classes have powers that are exclusive to their class. Those 2 classes are: Engineer - Hacking Adept - Singularity For this reason, we'll need to be an Engineer and an Adept at some point. Here are the three classes you should create your characters when starting out and what team set up you should use. Keep in mind, that the team set ups are nothing more than a suggestion, and you can use any team set up you want. Team 1 - Solider Tech Powers - Tali Biotics - Liara Team 2 - Engineer Tank - Ashley Biotics - Kaidan Team 3 - Adept Tank - Wrex Tech Powers - Garrus You generally want to balance your team out as much as possible, but while using different ally characters for the sake of the Ally achievements/trophies. For example, let's say that your character's a Solider. You want to pick the ally characters that would cover up your weakness as a Solider. In this example, the Solider is good in combat, but can't use any Tech or Biotic powers. What I have put up for Team 1 is one way you can do it, but you could have used Kaiden as a Biotic user and Garrus as your Tech user instead (wouldn't suggest it with the latter though). You could have also used Kaiden as your Tech user instead of Tali and Wrex as your Biotics user instead of Liara. If your going for all of the achievements in 3 playthroughs, I would use these three classes I have listed above. If you are going to end up doing more than 3 playthroughs, then you can use the above as your unoffical playthroughs, so you can hook your real character up with your unlocked powers (assuming you are going to go that route of course). If your going to create a new character as your real one, and your character is not going to be one of the 3 classes listed eariler, then you have 3 other classes that you haven't picked yet: Infiltrator, Sentinel and Vanguard. Infiltrators are good when it comes to Sniper Rifles, Sentinels are just good in Botics and Tech and Vanguards are good in the Shotgun department. Here are the team set ups for each class your character can be. Again, it is nothing more than a suggestion, and you can build your team anyway you want. My team set ups are based around having a balanced party. Team 4 - Infiltrator Tank - Wrex Botics - Kaiden Team 5 - Sentinel Tank - Wrex Tank 2 - Ashley Alterative - Garrus (for Tech powers) Team 6 - Vanguard Tech Powers - Kaidan Tank - Garrus Alteratives - Tali (for Tech Powers), Wrex (as a tank) Personally, I was a Vanguard with Wrex and Ashley as my allies (from what I can remember anyway) so I had to lose Kaiden due to *censored due to spoilers*. I wanted to go into my fights guns-a-blazing, and besides, if you train him right, Wrex can be unstopable in battle, so I had to have him tag along. My personal choice of class and my choice of allies proves that you can go with a party that can use guns really well, or you can go with a party that, oh let's say, are masters of Biotics. Like I said though, my team set ups are based around have a balanced party. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ | Part 5: The Game's Non-DLC Achievements/Trophies and How to unlock them | ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is the Meat and potatoes of this guide. Here I decided to I was going to split this part of the guide into seperate sections. Here are the names of the seperate sections. A. Story-Related Achievements/Trophies B. Character Based Achievements/Trophies C. Collection Achievements/Trophies D. Misc. Achievements/Trophies Also, as mentioned eariler, unlocking certain achievements will give you special perks that you use with your next character (or with your same character for certain perks). With these achievements, I'll mention what perk is unlocked when they apply. A. Story-Related Achievements/Trophies Note: This section's achievements are story-related like the group name suggests, so they can't be missed (although, two of them are difficulty based). Also, I will go in order of I think you will end up unlocking them in, but you can unlock these in any order you desire. 1. Distinguished Service Medal Description: Complete Eden Prime Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: This one's the first of two achievements/trophies you'll unlock, no matter how you plan on going about getting 100% in this game, so don't worry about not unlocking this one. Like the description suggests, you'll unlock this when you beat the 1st mission of the game (which takes place in Eden Prime). 2. Spectre Inductee Description: Become a Spectre Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This one's the last of two achievements/trophies you'll unlock, no matter how you plan on going about getting 100% in this game, so don't worry about not unlocking this one either. Like the description suggests, you'll unlock this when you proved that Saren (the game's main bad guy) has gone rouge and your given Spectre status. Note: If you don't bring either Wrex or Garrus with you when you go and see Fist, pick up Tali and become a Spectre, one or the other will wait for you by the elevator leading to your ship, telling that he knows what happen with Fist and that your going after Saren and want to join your mission. If you turn down Wrex, he'll tell you that he'll hang out at Chora's Den if you change your mind. I'm not sure what happens if you turn down Garrus, but since he works at C-Sec, I think he would hang out their if you want him in your party later. 3. Search and Rescue Description: Locate Dr. T'soni in the Artemis Tau cluster Achievement Points: 10G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll unlock this one when you've managed to get Liara (who the description's refering to) and escape the planet alive. Note: If you want to Liara to be your love interest and/or your going after the Asari Ally Achievement, you'll want to do this mission 1st (before you do any side-quests with the latter). 4. Honorarium of Corporate Service Description: Complete Noveria Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Like the description suggests, you'll unlock this when you managed to beat the Noveria mission. Note 1: If you bring Liara to this mission, the boss here will take notice of her and will think you are just using her to get the boss to back down and a fight happens anyway (well, basicly from what I can remember anyway). Note 2: After you beat the boss, you will then get to decide the fate of the Rachni Queen. If you opt to spare her, she'll have someone (specifically, an Asari) relay a message to you in ME 2, giving you an update of what she's been up to. Sorry if I caused some spoilers from ME 2, but I felt like I needed to get that out. 5. Medal of Heroism Description: Complete Feros Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Like the description suggests, you'll unlock this when you managed to beat the Feros mission. Note 1: If you intend on getting the best ending for this mission and/or you want to get the ally achievements, make sure you do the side-quests here before you head for the Exogeni building. Note 2: When you beat the Thorian and get the cipher from the Asari, you may opt to kill her. If you don't, she'll appear along with any and all surviors at the end of the Feros mission. She'll also appear in ME 2 with a side-quest for you. If you do kill her, someone else will show up with the same side-quest in her place (needs confirmation). 6. Council Legion of Merit Description: Complete Virmire Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Like the description suggests, you'll unlock this when you managed to beat the Virmire mission. Note 1: You'll unlock this mission after doing 2 main-mission planets post-spectre status. Note 2: If you have Wrex in your party when you come here, this is your 1st chance at getting the Charismatic achievement (see that achievement for details). Note 3: At some point during the mission, you will have to have one of your allies (specifically Ashley and Kadien) join a Salarian team. At another point of the mission, you must decide if you want to save Ashley or Kaidan. If your pursuing either ally as an love interest and/or if your going to have either ally as part of your team set up, then the choice is crystal clear. Otherwise, choose someone you want to see in ME 2, and maybe even use in ME 3. Here, while I don't remember my team set up was 100%, I personally saved Ashley from Virmire. Who ever was saved in this game will show up at the begining of ME 2 and the end of a mission in the same game. Not 100% sure on this right now, but I believe that the suriving character will show up as a select-able ally in ME 3. Who ever you didn't save on the other hand... To avoid as many spoilers as possible, let's just say that he/she will not show up in ME's 2 nor 3. 7. Medal of Honor Description: Complete 1 Mass Effect Playthrough on any setting Achievement Points: 100G Trophy Color: Gold Guide: You'll get this when you've beaten the game on either Casual, Normal or Veteran (the game's starting difficulty settings). Note 1: Unlocking this achievement/trophy will let you start with the same character you've beaten the game with (New Game+), all stats and weapons in all, unlock the Hardcore difficulty (needed for the Distinguished Combat Medal achievement/trophy) and make 60 the new level cap (starting level cap was 50). Note 2: At the end of the game, you'll be given a choice on weither or not you will save the Citadel Council. If you don't, a human council will take their place. If you do, you'll get to see them again in ME 2. The final boss will happen after you make your choice. I personally saved the Council, and note 3 will assume you've done just that. Note 3: After beating the boss (and sitting through the cut-scenes that follow), you'll then be given a choice on who should repersent the humans. You can choose between Captain Anderson and Ambassador Udina. In the Xbox 360 version, it makes no difference here, as you have to choose again at some point during the 1st missions of ME 2 anyway (this was corrected in the PC version). I'm not sure about the PS3 version, as I didn't know that Bioware was going to give this game a set of Trophies. Anyway, if you pick Anderson, he'll show up in a councilman's suit. Likewise, if you pick Udina (and if you played the game, why would you) he'll be the one in a councilman's suit. I personally chose Anderson to repersent the humans, because Udina is a real son of a ***** (play the game, watch a video walkthrough and/or read a text walkthrough and you'll understand what I'm talking about here). 8. Long Service Medal Description: Complete 2 Mass Effect Playthroughs on any setting Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Technically story-related, since you have to beat the game at least 3 times for 100% anyway. If you were playing on Hardcore when you beat the game for the 2nd time, you'll unlock this along with the Distinguished Combat Medal achievement/trophy. You can use New Game+ for this. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you do 10% more damage to your foes with your weapons. 9. Distinguished Combat Medal Description: Complete 1 Mass Effect playthrough on the Hardcore difficulty setting. Do not change the setting. Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: In order to get this one, you have to have beaten the game for the 1st time (and therefore, unlock the Medal of Honor achievement). Then you need to play the game on Hardcore and beat it on the said difficulty. You can use New Game+ for this, just make sure you change the difficulty before you touch the beacon on Eden Prime the latest (though, just to be safe, I change the difficulty when I 1st get control of my character for this and Medal of Valor achievements/trophies). If you did you 2nd playthrough on this difficulty, you'll unlock this along with the Long Service Medal achievement/trophy. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you Insane as an difficulty option and a Gamerpic of Saren (Xbox 360). 10. Medal of Valor Description: Complete 1 Mass Effect playthrough on the Insanity difficulty setting. Do not change the setting. Achievement Points: 50G Trophy Color: Gold Guide: In order to get this one, you must have beaten the game on Hardcore (and therefore, unlock the Distinguished Combat Medal achievement/trophy). Then you need to play the game on Insane and beat it. You can use New Game+ for this, just make sure you change the difficulty before you touch the beacon on Eden Prime the latest. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a Gamerpic with the N7 logo on it (Xbox 360). B. Character Based Achievements/Trophies 11. Soldier Ally Description: Complete the majority of the game with the Alliance soldier squad member Achievement Points: 20G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: What you generally have to do for the ally achievements/trophies (plus the Completionst achievement/trophy) is to do a lot of side quests. It'll take up way too much space to list them all, but just do all of the side quests you can before doing one of the story-related missions. If you have the Bring Down the Sky and/or maybe Pinnacle Station DLCs (Xbox 360), those seem to help out with the Ally achievements/tropies as well. If you want you get a certain ally achievement/trophy and they all show up around the same time as anyone else, pick up the character you want their ally achievement/trophy for 1st, before anyone else. Do 75% of the game with any of the 6 allies, and you'll unlock any of the achievements based on the characters you spent time with. This one's for Ashley. She joins you in the middle of your Eden Prime mission. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a +10% Hardening Bonus (don't ask me what Hardening does, because I don't have even the slightest idea). 12. Sentinel Ally Description: Complete the majority of the game with the Alliance sentinel squad member Achievement Points: 20G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Soldier Ally for details. This one's for Kaiden. He joins you at the start of your 1st mission. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a +10% Reduced Cooldown for Lift and Throw. 13. Krogan Ally Description: Complete the majority of the game with the krogan squad member Achievement Points: 20G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Soldier Ally for details. This one's for Wrex. He joins you when you pick him up at C-Sec (play the game yourself to know why he's even their in the first place). If you didn't pick him up before you pick up Tali, he'll wait for you in the elevator leading to your ship (or at Chora's Den if you turn down his offer to join you). Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you Regenerate 1 Health point per Second. 14. Turian Ally Description: Complete the majority of the game with the turian squad member Achievement Points: 20G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Soldier Ally for details. This one's for Garrus. He joins you when you pick him up at Medical Clinc (play the game yourself to know why he's even their in the first place). If you didn't pick him up before you pick up Tali, he'll wait for you in the elevator leading to your ship (or at C-Sec if you turn down his offer to join you). (needs confirmation) Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a 10% Reduced Cooldown for Overload and Damping. 15. Quarian Ally Description: Complete the majority of the game with the quarian squad member Achievement Points: 20G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Soldier Ally for details. This one's for Tali. She joins you when save her from an ambush. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a 10% Reduced Cooldown for Sabotage and AI Hacking. 16. Asari Ally Description: Complete the majority of the game with the asari squad member Achievement Points: 10G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Soldier Ally for details. This one's for Liara. She joins you when save her in one of the story-related planets. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a 10% Reduced Cooldown for Barrier and Stasis. C. Collection Achievements/Trophies Note: For a good majority of the achievements/trophies here (and I have to get this out of the way), your character has to the one that lanches the Biotics or Tech Powers. For the weapon achievements, your character has to be the one who makes the kills. For the power-related ones, you can turn squad power useage off, so you'll be the only one who uses the powers to make things somewhat easier. 17. Pistol Expert Description: Register 150 Pistol Kills Achievement Points: 10G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when kill 150 foes using a Pistol. Of the 6 classes you could be, all of them can use a Pistol really well (except for possibility the Sentinel, but it's the Sentinel's main gun of choice, so I consider it the gun of the Sentinel). Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a +25% Marksman Cooldown Bonus. 18. Shotgun Expert Description: Register 150 Shotgun Kills Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when kill 150 foes using a Shotgun. Lift Mastery Description: Use biotic Lift 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Lift 75 times on your foes. Of the 3 classes you could be that uses Biotics, all 3 of them can use Lift. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you use the Lift talent tree for your new, non-biotic character. 22. Throw Mastery Description: Use biotic Throw 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Throw 75 times on your foes. Of the 3 classes you could be that uses Biotics, all 3 of them can use Throw. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you use the Throw talent tree for your new, non-biotic character. 23. Warp Mastery Description: Use biotic Warp 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Warp 75 times on your foes. Of the 3 classes you could be that uses Biotics, Adepts and Vanguards can use Warp. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you use the Warp talent tree for your new, non-biotic character (or for the Sentinel who doesn't know how to use Warp). 24. Singularity Mastery Description: Use biotic Singularity 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Singularity 75 times on your foes. Barrier Mastery Description: Use biotic Barrier 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Barrier 75 times on yourself (this biotic power gives you some extra sheilding if you know what I mean). Stasis Mastery Description: Use biotic Stasis 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Stasis 75 times on your foes. Of the 3 classes you could be that uses Biotics, Adepts and Sentinels can use Stasis. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you use the Stasis talent tree for your new, non-biotic character (or for the Vanguard who doesn't know how to use Stasis, which is properly for the best, since only Bastion Adepts and Sentinels can hurt someone in Stasis). 27. Damping Specialist Description: Use Damping Field 75 times Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this when you use Damping 75 times on your foes. Of the 3 classes you could be that uses Tech Powers, Engineers and Infiltrators can use Damping. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you use the Damping talent tree for your new, non-tech using character (or for the Sentinel who doesn't know how to use Damping). 28. Note 2: Your non-tech using character can also use Medi-Gel just as well as the tech using classes, he/she just can't use the First-Aid talent tree to make it more effective (unless you hook your character up with the said talent tree of course). 32. Rich Description: Exceed 1,000,000 Credits Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: You'll get this when you have 1,000,000 Credits on you at once. You just need to keep killing foes, looting for items to sell during missions and maybe even score Credits during missions if your lucky. Credits is this game's form of money by the way. This will most likely come during the course of your 1st playthrough, unoffical or not. Note: Unlocking this achievement will let you buy Spectre Gear from a couple of shops (I believe those two shops are the one in the Citadel near the elevator near your ship and in the ship where most of your allies like to hang out when not doing missions at). 34. Misc. Achievements/Trophies 36. Scholar Description: Find all primary Alien: Council Races, Extinct Races and Non-Council Races codex entries Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: This one's missable if you don't get all of the races in your log book. I don't want to make this guide any longer than it already is, but here's a Youtube video walking you through this achievement/trophy below. It was made by PJthePlayer of Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3cCQz5FeLg&feature=player_embedded 37. Completionist Description: Complete the majority of the game Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Think of this as kind of an ally achievement/trophy, except you are your own ally. Refer to Soilder Ally for details on how to get this. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a +10% Experience Bonus. 38. Tactician Description: Complete playthrough with shield damage greater than health damage Achievement Points: 25G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Not as hard as it seems, especially if you play on Casual. You have to make it so you suffer more Shield damage than Health Damage. Unlocking Geth Hunter and/or Dog of War can and will help with this, due to the bonuses the game gives you for unlocking them. Not sure if that would apply to the PS3 version yet. Anyway, the bonus for beating the game twice can help, but you'll most likely not need it, especially if your playing on Casual. Barrier may help, but I'm not sure if it counts as taking Sheild damage or not. There's no way to check to see how much Sheild damage you suffered and how much Health Damage you suffered, but you shouldn't have too much trouble with this. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a +10% Shield Bonus. 39. Medal of Exploration Description: Land on an uncharted world Achievement Points: 50G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: This one's insanely easy for 50 points/Silver Trophy, but it's also highly missable if you don't land on an story optional planet. You'll be going for the ally and completionist achievements/trophies anyway, so the it's pretty much impossible to miss this. 40. Power Gamer Description: Reach 50th level with one character Achievement Points: 20G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Extreme Power Gamer for details. This is the game's starting level cap before you beat the game for the 1st time. Note: Unlocking this achievement will give you a +5% Experience Bonus. 41. Extreme Power Gamer Description: Reach 60th level with one character Achievement Points: 50G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: In order to reach levels beyond 50, you need to have unlocked the Medal of Honor achievement/trophy. My best advice for this is to keep killing foes, doing missions and do all the side-quests you can until you reach levels 50 and 60 for the appropriate achievement/trophy. Having any and all experience bonuses will help out here, as well as having any of the 2 DLCs as they give you exp for completing the DLC missions. 42. Renegade Description: Accumulate 75% of total Renegade points Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: For this one, you'll have to be a total jerk off to everyone. What I mean by this, is that you have to make choices that are kind of on the Renegade side. Those Renegade choices will on the bottom part of a choice wheel (or at least, that's where they usually are at). Using Intimidation will net you bonus Renegade points (9 times out of 10 anyway). Refer to Paragon for a way to get infinte Renegade points. 43. Paragon Description: Accumulate 75% of total Paragon points Achievement Points: 15G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: For this one, you'll have to be a really nice guy (or gal if your character's a chick) to everyone. What I mean by this, is that you have to make choices that are kind of on the Paragon side. Those Paragon choices will (most of the time) be on the top part of a choice wheel. Using Charm will net you bonus Paragon points (9 times out of 10 anyway). Alterative Method 1: Their is a way to get as many Paragon points as you want, but I believe it's been patched, so you may have to clear the system of all updates. Update: Xbox Live's Royal Dragon X2 has informed me that this alterative method is not patched, so you can use this at any time if you want and/or need quick Paragon and Renegade Points without having to remove the patches. Anyway, while at Noveria, talk to a Turian named Lorik Qui'in and he'll ask you to break into his office. Do the side-quest until you get to the point where you get approached by Anoleis's assistant. She'll ask you to get Qui'in to testify. Head back to Qui'in and talk him into testifing. He'll refuse, and you'll either have to Charm him, or use Intimidation. If you have enough points in Charm tallent tree, use that and he'll agree to testify. Here comes the glitchy part. Talk to him about Benezia and he'll reply. Then tell him to testify again. He'll once again refuse and you get to Charm him again. Each time you charm him, you'll get an addtional 24 points in the Paragon side of Morality. You can do the same bug to get the Renegade achievement, just make sure you have enough points in the Intimidate talent tree before you do this. Each time you Intimidate him, you'll get an addtional 25 points in the Renegade side of Morality. I'm not sure if this would work in the PS3 version. Alterative Method 2: Their is one more way to get this and get as many Paragon points as you want, but I believe that this has also been patched. Also, this will not net you Renegade points as well. Update: Xbox Live's Royal Dragon X2 has informed me that this alterative method is not patched, so you can use this at any time if you want and/or need quick Paragon Points without having to remove the patches. Anyway, start the side quest UNC: Lost Module. Then find the monkey that has the Module. You must not shoot any of the monkeys, or the glitch will not work. The monkey will be found in and at the end of a cave. Search the monkey to see if it has the Module. If it does, you'll get 6 Paragon points. Save your game here and reload it. Here's the glitchy part. Then search the same monkey you found the Module at. You'll notice that you have gotten another 6 points for Paragon. Keep doing this for as long as you desire. Of the two alterative methods, the 2nd one is the fastest for Paragon points, but the 1st one is the best for when you want to get both Paragon and Renegade points. Besides, the 1st method is the only way to get unlimited Renegade points (at least, as far as I know anyway). I'm not sure if this would work in the PS3 version. 44. Paramour Description: Complete any romance subplot Achievement Points: 10G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This one's missable if you don't go after someone as a love interest. If your character's a male, then you can go after Ashley or Liara. If your character's a female, then you can go after Kaiden or Liara. Yes, you can go after Liara, reguardless of gender. Anyway, you generally want to speak to your love interest after every mission. When you talk to your love interest, You'll generaly want to be Paragon, though if you feel that they are wrong about certain topics, go Neutral. If you Love Interest is Liara, then you'll want to rescue her before you start any of the other story missions. Well... You don't have to necessarily, but it does help. If you try to go after both Ashley/Kaiden and Liara, they will both confront you about it and will make you choose between the two. Choose the one you really want to be with. At some point during the Virmire mission, you'll have to choose who you want to save. If your character's a guy and your going after Ashley, save her. If your character's a girl and your going after Kaiden, save him. If you don't, the subplot will end at Virmire. When you are on your way to Illos, your love interest will show up in your room and tell you that He/She's worried about what will happen at the end of your final mission. You'll eventrally be given the option to, oh let's say, let him/her spend the night in your room. If you opt to do this, a really special, but naughty scene will play out, and the achievement/trophy will unlock. I personally had Liara as my love interest and I was a guy character. 45. Charismatic Description: Use Charm or Intimidate to resolve an impossible situation Achievement Points: 10G Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This is missable if you don't have high enough Charm nor Intimidate to try to do this with. You have two chances at this, and I'll talk about both of them here. 1. Wrex - He'll only need convincing if you plan on having him in your team set up, or if you picked him up for the heck of it. Anyway, on Virmire, you and a Captain Kirrahe will be talking about how we can stop Saren from using cure for the Korgen Genophage for his own gain (play the game yourself to know what I'm talking about). Both of you determine that the only way is to destory the cure. Safe to say, Wrex doesn't like the idea. Confront him about this and Wrex tell you that the cure can't be destroyed because it'll save his race. You have 3 ways to defuse this little bomb without having him killed and earn this achievement here (one of which is a bit glitchy, see way C for details): A. If you have 8 skill points in Charm, you can select the option that says "These aren't your people". This will get him to back down and you'll earn some Paragon points and the achievement. B. If you have 8 skill points in Intimidate, you can select the option that says "Don't be so naive". This will scare Wrex into backing down and you'll earn some Renegade points and the achievement. C. If you completed the Wrex's Armor side-quest for Wrex, he'll remember the events of that quest, but still won't back down unless he know we're destroying the cure for the right reasons. The glitchy part about this is that, if you say either "I wouldn't do this otherwise" or "We Are", Wrex will back off and the achievement will unlock here. If this has been patched and if you want to get it that way, do the Wrex's Armor side-quest, go through the Virmire mission as normal, save your game, remove the patch, reload the game and convince Wrex into backing down using way C. 2. Saren - Yes, you can convince him to stand down. Anyway, you'll need to have really high Charm/Intimidate to earn the achievement this way (Max out either talent tree seems to be the safest and only way to get the achievement). I'm not sure if it's required for this way to work, but if you are able to persuade Saren during your encounter with him on Virmire, it'll help. Anyway, at some point during your conversation with Saren, he'll eventrally see the error of his ways, but feels it's too late for him. Use either your Charm or Intimidate to convince him he can still redeem himself. He'll do this by shooting himself in the head however. The achievement will unlock after that. 46. N7 Elite Description: Acquire all trophies Achievement Points: N/A Trophy Color: Platinum Guide: This is PS3 players only. You'll get this when you score all of the other Trophies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Part 5: The Game's DLC Achievements/Trophies and How to unlock them - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DLC A: Bring Down the Sky Cost: Xbox 360: 400 MSP PC: $5.00 PS3: Comes with the game, so free Note: If you buy the Platinum Hits version of this game, it'll come with this DLC, making the DLC free. This only applies to the Xbox 360 and possibly the PC versions of the game, as this game wasn't on the PS3 at the time of posting this. 1. Colonial Savior Description: Complete the Bring Down the Sky mission. Achievement Points: 50G Trophy Color: Silver Guide: This is the only achievement this DLC has, and it's story-related, so it can't be missed. You'll unlock this when you beat this DLC. DLC B: Pinnacle Station Cost: Xbox 360: 400 MSP PC: $5.00 PS3: Doesn't have this DLC as far as I know Note: I would not suggest doing this DLC on Insane, it's impossible to beat some of the trials on it. Also, I will go in order of when you will unlock this. Also, I don't believe that the PS3 version of this game doesn't have this DLC, so this is the only DLC that's not effected by this update. 2. New Sheriff in Town Description: Take first place in any combat scenario on Pinnacle Station Achievement Points: 50G Guide: Refer to Best of the Best for details. 3. Best of the Best Description: Take first place in 12 combat scenarios on Pinnacle Station Achievement Points: 50G Guide: For this one and New Sheriff in Town, you need to take the top spot on all 12 combat scenarios. The last 4 will not become play-able until you've taken the top spot in the 1st 8. Here are the types of scenarios you can play, the locations these scenarios take place at, and the time you have to beat. Any place marked with a "*" means that this place is only play-able after you've beaten the 1st 2 places for each type of scenario. Hunt: 1. Subterranean - 35 2. Volcanic - 43 3. Tropical* - 50 Time Trial: 1. Tropical - 01:24.67 2. Warehouse - 01:20.94 3. Volcanic* - 01:54:.61 Capture: 1. Tropical - 01:58.67 2. Volcanic - 02:00.53 3. Subterranean* - 01:29.47 Survival: 1. Tropical - 01:46.43 2. Volcanic - 01:31.63 3. Subterranean* - 02:20.57 4. Undisputed Description: Complete Ahern's survival mission Achievement Points: 50G Guide: After getting taking the top spot in all 12 scenarios, Admiral Ahern will have one more scenario for you. This scenario is a lot like a Survival Mission, except for two things: A. You have to stay alive for 5 minutes. B. If you die in this mission, you die for real (meaning it's Game Over of course). Once you managed to survive 5 minutes in this survival mission, the achievement is yours. ****************************************************************************** * Part 6: How to Contact me * ****************************************************************************** You have 2 Main ways of contacting me: 1. Send me an E-mail 2. Send me a message on my Gamertag on X-Box Live My E-mail address: shadowjohn91(at)yahoo(dot)com. My Gamertag is Gamer364. This can be done only through a text message. E-mail or Message me if you: A. See a spelling error: I may have made spelling errors as I was writing this. B. Have a question that needs asking: You may have something that needs clearing up or something to that affect. C. Have a correction to make: I'm not 100% sure on some of the stuff mentioned though out the guide. D. Want to use my guide on your website: I personally have no problem letting you use my guide on your website, as long as you ask me first, and you give me credit for it. E. Think you see someone using my guide without permission: I don't like it when people steal my stuff (at least, not without asking me first). I don't do it to other people (at least without giving other people credit for the idea), so why do it to me anyway? F. Have something to add-on to this or that/there's something I forgot to include: If there something you think I should have included, but I didn't, you are encouraged to send me an Email for this or that. Do note that if you do decide you want to message me, make sure if the topic is about Mass Effect 1. As of right now the only sites that have permission to use my guide: A. GameFAQs (I have an account with them, so they don't really need my permission.) B. Neoseeker (They have advanced permission) C. SuperCheats More to come (maybe). Don't even think about email me if you are going to send me: A. Hate Mail B. Spam C. Name Calling mail D. Barely readable/Unreadable mail E. Mail with mostly creative words (if you get my drift) Letter A I take offence to, because I don't send hate mail to no one. I have a Spam safeguard with yahoo, and it'll tell me if I have spam or not with Letter B. Also, if I think your trying sending me spam on Xbox Live, don't think I won't write a complaint about you, and/or tell Microsoft on you. With letter C, I also take offence, because I get name called in school. Letter D, If your sending me an E-mail, have spell check available to you and you’re not sure of your spelling, then why not use it? Letter E, Unless I messed up that badly, there's really no reason for that anyway. All of these things can and will make me think your a bad person, when in reality your probably not. All in all, just don't do it. Follow these rules, and if you add-on and/or correct something, I'll give you credit for it. Note: Don't get discouraged if I don't answer you right away. Sometimes, I might be on the Computer and sometimes I'll be on Xbox Live. Your best bet is to send both an E-mail and an Xbox Live message. That way if I don't get one of your messages, I'll still be able to get the other message. Even then, I might still not get your message right away. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- | Part 7: Legal Junk, Special Thanks and Other Guides I've Done | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Legal Junk This guide is copyrighted and written by me.
