Goodbye! ****************************************************************************** 1. About the Writer My name is Daniel Graeme (or Graham) Stephen, otherwise known on GameFAQs as DG-le-Ste. I am only 18 years old, but I have a number of years of GTA gaming under my belt. Say what you want to say, but there are millions of kids that aren’t even 13 playing “Grand Theft Auto” games. This is what I think is a simple fact, but I‘ll leave the arguments to you. This is a guide, not a debate. Anyhoo, I come from the northeast of England, but with strong Scottish roots. I was originally born in Aberdeen, in the northeast of Scotland, until my family moved to the northeastern English town of Middlesbrough when I was very young. Most of my lifelong friends are gamers, and that includes me, and so we are a strong group when it comes to opposable thumbs. You could say GTA is my specialty. I grew up going on mad rampages on the comfort of my games console whilst playing as Carl Johnson or Claude Speed. Because of my childhood memories mostly being of this game series, it has inspired me to write these guides. I have studied subjects such as Law and Politics to a high level, which does require very good reading and writing skills. I have honed these skills into my guides. I started writing these guides in the summer of 2012, during the very start of my gap year before I went to university. This gave me a lot of spare time, and thus many of my guides have come to be. I would go into my private life, but this is unnecessary. So, instead of that, we’ll get under way. If you need another GTA guide, or any other guide, here is a list of what I have written: >> "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories" Walkthrough >> "Saints Row 2" Walkthrough >> "Saints Row 2" Multiplayer Badges Walkthrough These guides can be found easily on GameFAQs, as this is where my content is originally posted. Some other guides may be harder to find, but it is possible I had posted the guide on another website due to a gaming website's guide getting oversaturated - what that means is that there are too many mainstream guides. So you may find some of them scattered around the gaming website world for that reason. I didn't really need to go too in-depth with it, but here you go. ****************************************************************************** 2. "Saints Row" In 2006, THQ released what was their take on the sandbox-style shoot-'em-up game inspired by the "Grand Theft Auto" titles at the time. Their take on this was less successful, selling only 2 million copies in its year of release, but it shown what Volition Inc. were capable of. It would soon lead onto their sequels that went onto bigger and better things. The game, set in the present day of 2006, isn't the exact carbon-copy of the GTA game - it includes a different strategy to attempt and complete missions, and alternative objectives such as activities, strongholds and diversions. You can also customize your nameless character - who, in this case, is called The Protagonist for the purposes of this guide. Anyway, let's get onto the bread and butter of the game. ****************************************************************************** 3. Your Protagonist Your Protagonist is always male, but you can make him how you want him to be. When you begin your game, you have the option to customize your Protagonist. This includes race, hair, hair color, facial hair and color, eye color, and the finer details that you can edit, such as the shape of your jaw or the size of your nose. After that, you can begin the game with them. If you are unhappy with the outcome, you can invest $3,000 in-game at a Plastic Surgeon if you want to change it. ****************************************************************************** 4. The Basics We can now learn how to actually play the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4A. Control Schemes (On Foot) ***************************** There are three control schemes you can use, labeled A, B and C. Scheme A --------- Secondary Attack – LT Reload/Grab Weapon – A Weapon Switch – LS & B Sprint – RB Inventory – B Jump – X Enter/Exit Door, Enter Vehicle, Action – Y Block Attack – LT & RT Kick – RB Scheme B --------- Secondary Attack – LT Sprint – A Block Attack – LT & RT Attack – RT Reload/Grab Weapon – RB Inventory – B Jump – X Enter/Exit Door, Enter Vehicle, Action – Y Weapon Switch – LS & B Scheme C --------- Weapon Switch – RS & RB Sprint – A Jump – B Enter/Exit Door, Enter Vehicle, Action – Y Reload/Grab Weapon – B Secondary Attack – LT Block Attack – LT & RT Primary Attack – RT Kick – LB Inventory – RB Obvious controls, such as the Pause Button, are left out for the sake of easiness. You don't need to be told what buttons you need to press when it's used in all the games you play. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4B. Control Schemes (In a Vehicle) *********************************** There are also three control schemes for driving vehicles, labeled A, B and C. Scheme A --------- Look Left – LB Look Right – RB Look Behind – LB & RB Handbrake – LT Attack – RT Weapon Switch – LS & B Nitrous – (click) RS* Accelerate – A Inventory – B Brake/Reverse – X Action/Exit Vehicle – Y Scheme B --------- Weapon Switch – LS & B Nitrous – (click) RS* Attack – A Inventory – B Handbrake – X Action/Exit Car – Y Look Left – LB Look Right – RB Look Behind – LB & RB Brake/Reverse – LT Accelerate – RT Scheme C --------- Weapon Switch – RS & RB Accelerate – A Nitrous – B* Brake Reverse – X Action/Exit Car – Y Handbrake – LT Inventory – RB Attack – RT Camera – RS + LB Toggle Camera – (hold) LB *Nitrous can only be used when it has been installed in your vehicle from a Mechanic Garage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4C. The Pause Menu ******************* Your Pause Menu includes a number of things you need, including... Map - Filter what icons you have on your map and radar, and a GPS system can be used to get from Point A to Point B. Info - See the outline of the missions you've completed, the coverage of Activities, and your brief. Help - If you need some, it's all covered in this section. Cell Phone - Call a Homie, dial a number, or activate any cheats if you choose to use them. Audio Player - Play any playlist created either in-game or any music you have burned onto your Hard Disk Drive. Save/Load - You can save with light-cones in-game, but this is a quicker alternative to that. Options - Fine tune your display, audio, or quit the game if you want to. And that's all you need to know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4D. The Heads-Up Display (HUD) ******************************* On the screen whilst you actually roam around, you will have a number of icons that hold information you may need to know. In the top-right corner, you have the main area of your HUD. This shows your Health, the weapon you are holding, and if applicable, how much ammunition you have for that weapon. You also have your Stamina along the top half as well, telling you when you are likely to tire. You also have your Respect Bar, how full it is and how many bars you have filled. In the bottom right, when you have it up, is your inventory. This shows your weapons and an indicator of how much ammunition you have for them. In the bottom left is your radar, showing you where to go. Above it is your Gang Notoriety meter, and below it is your Cop Notoriety meter. They are explained a little later in the guide. In the top left, when you're on a mission or Activity, is details surrounding it, such as Gang Members Killed, for example. This provides detail and insight into what you're doing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4E. Smoked & Busted ******************** You're not invincible to a gang member who hates you or a cop chasing after you when you've broke the law. You will get a notice where you run out of health and die, telling you that you have been Smoked. The screen fades to black and you respawn at the nearest hospital. The same happens when a cop takes you down and you are Busted, except you are respawned at the nearest police precinct. On each occasion, any mission you were on will be failed and you are billed a percentage of your current bank balance. You'll be glad to know that you will NOT lose your weapons to this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4F. Your Crib ************** After completing certain missions, you have access to a Crib, allowing you to do a number of things. You have different light-cones to do it: Save - Save your game. Wardrobe - Change into a different set of clothes if you have bought or unlocked any. Cache - See what weapons you have to use. Any guns available in the cache are restockable, so any unique ones you would like to keep using are able to be refilled and used again at no cost to you. Stash - Collect on money from any owned Neighborhoods. You usually have to wait one in-game day before the Stash is able to churn out money. Garage - The Garage outside will let you use any cars you put into it or unlocked. Drive a car into it and then leave to put it in your Garage to use later. ****************************************************************************** 5. A Tour of Stilwater Stilwater, a city based off of Detroit and Chicago, is a mixture of Utopia and Hades when it comes to it. The city is split into two islands - one in the north, and the other to the south. The north is a tranquil area, as to the west is the main suburban areas of Misty Lane and Tidal Spring. The high-end retail and downtown districts are based in the center, with all the expensive boutiques and high-rise buildings, and in the east is the museums of Amberbrook and Humbolt Park. Head to the west of the southern island, and you have the gentle areas of the Apartments, the Ultor Arena, Chinatown and the small Airport. However, the idea of a great city is tarnished by the violence in the Barrio, the rundown projects district, the local red light district and the devolving suburb of Saints Row. The factories and the docks in the area are also showing its age. Hopefully, you can settle into the city and get to know it better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5A. Stores *********** In Stilwater, you have access to a number of stores to purchase goods and services. Here is a run on all of them: Car Customization ------------------ Stores: Rim Jobs You can modify your car in terms of bodywork, color and performance. You can install nitrous and hydraulics here, as well as rims. Car Dealership --------------- Stores: Foreign Power Invest in a better, faster car if you have the money to do so. Clothing Shops --------------- Stores: Sloppy Seconds (Thrift) On The Rag (Indie) Branded (Designer) Impressions (High End) Improve the look of your character, or add that dash of variety for him. Food Stores ------------ Stores: Freckle Bitch's Buy food for when you need that quick health boost. Forgive & Forget ----------------- Drive through one of these Confessional Stands and your notoriety is wiped, for a fee. Jewellery Stores ----------------- Stores: On Thin Ice Choose from a steel medallion to a platinum ring. Liquor Stores -------------- Stores: Brown Baggers Whether you're looking to get high or have a liquid breakfast, this place will sell blunts and 40 ozs. under the counter. Movie Theater -------------- Review the cutscenes of missions that you have passed, or replay them if you wanted to. Music Stores ------------- Scratch That will sell all the records that you've heard from the in-game radio and makes it available to listen to on the in-game Audio Player. Plastic Surgeon ---------------- Image as Designed will let you edit your Protagonist once again, for the sum of $3,000. Salon ------ Do It Up allows you to change your hairstyle if you are not happy with it. Tattoo Parlor -------------- Stores: Rusty's Needle Get chest, back or arm tattoos for a good price. Weapon Stores -------------- Stores: Friendly Fire Invest in a new gun or blunt object, and buy more ammunition if you are close to running out. Note that sales will be going on in the game, either temporary ones through the radio or permanent sales as a reward for certain Activities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5B. Respect & Style Bonuses **************************** Respect is an important aspect of game progression. You need a Respect Meter that has been filled at least once to activate a mission. If you have filled your meter 14 times, symbolised by "x14" at the end of the Respect Meter in your HUD, upon activating a mission, this will go down to 13, or "x13". Your Respect is earned through Activities and the diversions within the game. You can also earn a Style Bonus through the game by purchasing expensive goods and even if it is simply purple, symbolizing the 3rd Street Saints. This meter is visible when you are purchasing an item at any Clothing or Jewellery Store. This will then go up and down corresponding to your selection. When you fill up this bar each time, you are given a 5% bonus to the Respect you earn. So, filling it twice gives you a 10% bonus. Bonuses are hard to earn the higher you go, and it can easily fall when buying less expensive items. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5C. Missions & Strongholds *************************** These games wouldn't be worth playing without the missions. Your simple order to go somewhere and cause mayhem has been a pastime for many gamers, and to receive a reward at the end of it. But what Volition Inc. did had a different take on a gang's storyline. A stronghold is like a sub-mission - little detail, and pretty straight- forward objectives to fulfil - which basically serve in this game to gain more neighborhoods. The objectives range to simply fighting your way through the gang to destroy equipment to stealing keys to the boss' car and knocking drug shipments into the water. All missions and strongholds in a gang's storyline need to be beaten in order to defeat the gang, and to get the Achievement that goes with it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5D. Neighborhoods ****************** Neighborhoods, shortened to 'Hoods in the game, are used to show the dominance of gangs in the city. There are thirty-six neighborhoods in Stilwater, panning all thirty-six areas of the city. They are shown in the colors of the gang that rules them - blue for the Westside Rollerz, yellow for the Vice Kings, and red for Los Carnales. The 3rd Street Saints' districts are purple. When you own a Neighborhood, you earn money for doing so in your Crib's Stash. This begins at $200, the second Neighborhood gained will add $400, and so on up to ruling all 36 Neighborhoods, boosting it up at $7,200. This actually will not accumulate, as when you collect from your Stash at its earliest, you only get around $8,000, and if you wait a few more in-game days, this may only reach $16,000 to $17,000. However, that still is good money if you need it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5E. Gang/Police Notoriety ************************** If you kill a gang member, chances are that you are going to get some shtick for it. This is shown on the top of your Notoriety meter, and if you do the same with the police, this will be shown on the bottom of your Notoriety Meter with a Star Icon. The more stars you have around it, the more intense the authority's resistance will be. As there are three different gangs, there are three indicators of which gang you have angered - the cross on the red back- ground is Los Carnales, the crown on the yellow background is the Vice Kings, and the wheel arch on the blue background is the Westside Rollerz. There are five levels of Notoriety: Level 1 -------- Gang: Any gang members that see you will attempt to attack you. Police: Any officer you see will attempt to hunt you down. Level 2 -------- Gang: A lone gang member will pursue you in a vehicle. Police: The S.P.D. squad cars will give chase, and officers will begin using their guns. Level 3 -------- Gang: Two gang members will pursue you in a vehicle. Police: The squad cars will get more aggressive, and SWAT teams will block the way and use spike strips. Level 4 -------- Gang: Three gang members will pursue you in a vehicle, using stronger weapons. Police: A helicopter is called out to stop you, and will also transport SWAT teams to the crime scene you have created. Level 5 -------- Gang: Four gang members will pursue you in a vehicle, making this situation pretty dangerous. Police: This is it. The FBI are called in, and the agents are not scared about taking you down with force. The background of the Notoriety Meter is an indicator of how far you are off from either reducing or increasing your level of Notoriety. Hiding out and not attacking the gang/police will slowly reduce this. Remember that you can also wipe your Notoriety at a Forgive and Forget. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5F. Pushbacks ************** When you have a Neighborhood, the gang that used to hail that area will try to reclaim it. This is known as a Pushback, and you receive a call when one is going down. They will tell you which Neighborhood is under attack, and this area will flash on your map. You have to kill all the gang Lieutenants operating in that area to complete a Pushback. If you die, you will not lose the Neighborhood, but it will still be under a Pushback until it is successfully completed. You can leave Pushbacks until last, but if your bank balance relies on your Stash collection, the money you earn from that Neighborhood will not be counted in it as that 'Hood is not under your full control. ****************************************************************************** 6. The Streets of Stilwater This is simply a cutscene after you have created your character and began the game. The Protagonist walks through a back alley in Saints Row, past a man selling knock-off jewellery, and then gets an "proposition" from one of the working girls. His attention then turns across the street, as a group of Vice Kings stand disgusted by a Westside Rollerz tag that has been sprayed on a wall in front of them. As they begin to spray over it, a group of the gang responsible confronts them, and a fight ensues. A car filled with Los Carnales then pulls up and performs one hell of a drive-by on the group. Eventually, one of the thugs shoots the Carnales gunman, and the cars speeds off and crashes, hitting The Protagonist and setting the car up in flames. A Westside Roller then kills the survivors, before getting shot in the head by a Vice King with a Pistol. The Vice King then prepares to shoot The Protagonist before it fades to black. The Protagonist is unscathed, as a gang member shot the gunman dead, and then help him away from the car, which explodes, setting him down at the street corner. They introduce themselves as Julius and Troy, and after a little debate, they advise that The Protagonist that he comes to the church to become "part of the solution" to ending the violence in the district. You have control over The Protagonist, and you are in an alley that leads up to the church. There is a purple light-cone that begins the first actual mission of the game. ****************************************************************************** 7. The Third Street Saints The Third Street Saints, usually put down to the 3rd Street Saints, are a new gang that are about to come onto the scene. Their aim is to stop gang violence in their home district, and so far only have control of the neighborhood of Mission Beach. The state of their home, the Church, shows the battle scars of the gang attacks that are seemingly endless in the district. With The Protagonist, however, things are set to change. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7A. Key Members **************** There are several members of the 3rd Street Saints, who each play an important part of the gang: Julius Little - Leader: Born and bred in the area of Sunnyvale Gardens, Julius grew up with Vice Kings leader Benjamin King, possibly serving for that gang before moving to Saints Row and then recruiting members for the 3rd Street Saints after the Westside Rollerz, Los Carnales and Vice Kings began battling for the Saints Row district and tearing it apart. Troy Bradshaw - Chief Lieutenant: Troy is your typical tactician, but his approach to some of his tactics and original plans made by others, such as Dex and Julius, can make him a suspicious man in his aims. However, he does seem more than happy to help the 3rd Street Saints. Dexter "Dex" Jackson - Lieutenant: Dex is another tactician within the gang, and is much more superb at this than Troy, and sometimes Julius. He is a clever man, brought into the gang for the same reason as many - to try and end the violence going on in the district of Saint's Row. Many of the gang members can be heard doubting that Dex deserved the role as Lieutenant, and even go so far as to thinking that he will go on to challenge Julius as leader of the Saints. He also gets peeved when people don't use correct terminology, an example of this is when people call Los Carnales "the Los Carnales", when "Los" translates into English as "the". Johnny Gat - Lieutenant: Gat is the 3rd Street Saints' ultimate bad-ass, who likes nothing more than laying bullets into his rivals and causing mayhem to spread his message. He is extremely trigger-happy, and hates it when others prevent him from doing what he does best. Unlike the other Lieutenants, he seems to be the most trust- worthy, disregarding his bloodlusts. Lin - Lieutenant: At the end of the prologue, Lin is assigned to go undercover to infiltrate the young Westside Rollerz gang, and works with The Protagonist to weaken them. Aisha - Gang Member: The long-suffering girlfriend of Johnny Gat, Aisha is a rising R'n'B superstar representing the 3rd Street Saints on a small scale. She has signed a deal with Kingdom Come Records, owned by the Vice Kings, and she is one of the most famous people to ever hail from Stilwater. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7B. Third Street Saints Storyline ********************************** This storyline involves The Protagonist enlisting as a member of the Saints and then setting about taking back their home district. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSS1. "Canonized" ****************** As the thugs, including Johnny Gat and Dex, stand in the yard of the church, Julius begins a rally, Troy standing next to him. He dishes out a speech about the state of Saints Row, and how they are going to do what they need to do in order to claim it and end the violence. After the cheering, the attention then turns to The Protagonist, yet to be "canonized". Troy brings this up to Julius that he has to go through what everybody else had to do after The Protagonist is introduced, and so it begins. This is a tutorial on fighting in the game. First of all, you are fighting one member, and if you get past them, you face two at the same time. It is important that you time your attacks and block the attacks, and then get the final punch in to take them down. Your health usually regenerates, but to make this mission a little more difficult, it will not regenerate. After defeating these two, another pair square up, and you need to defeat them. When your Health reaches a very low amount, you will lose the fight, but getting past all five will get you through as a hard-nut rather than getting beaten up. Win or lose, the next cutscene plays out. Julius reminds the group of who they are and showing that they "ain't fucking around" in order to reclaim the district that rightfully belongs to them. Mission Completed! $1,000 if you won, $200 if you lost Natural Leader - You can now recruit up to one Homie Wheel Woman as a Homie - Call her on your cell phone if you need a ride Achievement - "Canonized" (10G) And this mission leads onto the next... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSS2. "Back To Basics" *********************** Troy comes out from the church to accompany The Protagonist as he gets to grips with the gang scene in the city. The first place he wants to visit is the local Friendly Fire around the way. You want to buy the Vice 9 from here, as this is the most popular weapon amongst many small-time thugs, therefore you will get quite a bit of ammunition in missions for it. Buy as much of it as you can, depending on the cash reward from the first mission. Troy then wants to "clean up the Row" by killing some Vice King thugs around the way. This is essentially a tutorial on shooting and gun-fighting in the city. After you have killed the final group, you need to take the Vice Kings' Compton that has been parked there and lose the notoriety at a Forgive and Forget. Troy will then request a trip to Freckle Bitch's, the local fast food diner. Mission Completed! $500, 500 Respect Saint's Row Loft Crib unlocked You will get a call from Julius, telling The Protagonist that the Saints now need to "lock their rep down", opening an Activity in Harrowgate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSS3. "Saint's Row Snatch" *************************** The Protagonist meets Will, the local pimp, who offers one of his not so beautiful girls. He is unhappy that rival gangs are running the same business, only because they are having more success. He wants The Protagonist to nab some of the competition from the other pimps, and in return, he receives a cut of the action, and he'll spread the word that the Saints are on the way up. This is an introduction to Activities, and the Snatch Activity. All you have to do is kill the abusive pimps, and recruit them before bringing them back to the place you started. You will get some resistance from the Westside Rollerz, but seeing as this is a tutorial, this mission is far from difficult. There are two levels on this variant - Level 1 will have you rescuing only one ho, and Level 2 will have you rescuing two hoes. Complete Level 1 to earn $100 and 2,000 Respect. Complete Level 2 to earn $250 and 2,500 Respect, and unlock Will as a Homie. From here on in, all missions and strongholds will cost you one full bar of Respect. Thankfully, the total of 4,500 Respect will push it over two bars, just enough for the last two things left to do in the Row. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSS4. Stronghold - "Abandoned Storefront" ****************************************** You will get a phone call from Troy, telling The Protagonist of a derelict store that Los Carnales are using as a hideout in Athos Bay. Head to the light cone to begin. Kick the door in, and get past any Carnales that stand in your way. You will then have to chase down the Lieutenant running operations here. You will not be able to stop him just yet, so lay off the bullets and the road rage and chase him. He will then bail out along the coast of Mission Beach. It is then simply making roadkill of this goon to finish off the Stronghold. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Athos Bay ($400 Per Day) This then leads onto the final mission of the Prologue, which is activated at the Church. Julius will call, telling him to pick them up to activate the mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSS5. "Reclamation" ******************** Upon activating this mission, you will have to wait for Troy and Julius, and then you'll have to find a four-door vehicle. There is an Aqua up the street to the north if you need one. The two tell The Protagonist that Troy received a tip-off that all three gangs are having a massive shootout in Harrowgate docks to determine who's in complete control of the district. If the trio could storm it and take out everyone there, their home district would be under their complete control. The two then discuss whether they should've brought Johnny to the fight, but they have trust in The Protagonist, and it would be good experience. Head to the docks, and fight your way through the docklands, avoiding serious damage from Rollerz, Carnales and Vice Kings, whilst hunting down and killing the Lieutenants that are fronting the attacks. When you get through the last of them, Julius and Troy congratulate The Protagonist for his shooting skills, but then the cops arrive. Simply drive away and take out the driver of the squad car, and then head back to the Church. This leads on to... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSS6. "Divide and Conquer" *************************** This is a cutscene after arriving at the church. Julius gives a speech about what has just happened, but they simply cannot stop at clearing out Saint's Row - they need to begin taking out each gang as they come. He begins to appoint positions to each Lieutenant - Dex is put onto Los Carnales, and he is in charge of digging up information on them, their operations, and their relationship with one of Colombia's most powerful cartels. Johnny Gat is more than happy to volunteer as being in charge of operations against the Vice Kings, but is unhappy when he isn't trusted by Julius, having Dex keep a watchful eye over him and what he does to "aid" things. All that leaves is the Westside Rollerz - and an Asian woman named Lin steps forward, wearing their signature blue colors. Julius explains that information about the Rollerz is sketchy, so she is going to go undercover and find out as much as they can on the gang, their operations, and how to take them out. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Harrowgate ($600 Per Day) Achievement - "Reclamationist" (10G) ****************************************************************************** 8. Activities With a lot of missions to get through, we'll need as much Respect as we need to get through them with little hassle when it comes to meeting requirements. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8A. Money & Respect Rewards **************************** There are eight levels to each Activity. There are money and Respect rewards that are standard to each generic Activity, except from Chop Shop, which works off a different scheme, Street Tags and the Loan Sharking Activities. Level 1: $100, 700 Respect + Style Bonus Level 2: $250, 800 Respect + Style Bonus Level 3: $500, 900 Respect + Style Bonus Level 4: $1,000, 1,000 Respect + Style Bonus Level 5: $1,500, 1,100 Respect + Style Bonus Level 6: $2,000, 1,200 Respect + Style Bonus Level 7: $3,000, 1,300 Respect + Style Bonus Level 8: $5,000, 1,400 Respect + Style Bonus, Unique Reward Unique rewards are mostly standard to their Activity; for example, completing Hitman Lists will earn you gun bonuses. When you complete all variants of an Activity, you get a special unique reward and the Achievement that goes along with it. Completion of all Activities from Racing to Hijacking will earn you the "Racket Lord" Achievement, which rewards you a massive 160G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8B. Keeping Track ****************** If you access the Activites section of your Info page in the Pause Menu, you will see the icons for each Activity. Scrolling through them will give you the details of them, mainly completion. On the Chop Shop and Hitman icons, you are able to access the lists for them. On the Loan Shark icon, which is not an Activity per se, it will only show you any outstanding debts you have with Mike & Dan. Without further ado, let's begin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8C. Racing *********** Nothing has been more fun than a game in which you can race vehicles. Racing involves the obvious, and there are three types of race: checkpoint, a simple race from one end of a district or part of the city to the other; lap, a circuit race; and point-to-point, where you have to make your own way through the city from the start to the finish line. Level 7 of all variants is the only point-to-point race in the variant, and Level 8 of all variants is a combination of all other checkpoint races that have gone before. Nitrous is especially useful on Level 7. You cannot out-class your opponents completely - if you bring a sports car, such as the Zenith, your opponents will be driving the same types of vehicle too. Therefore, you want the best cars in their class. A Voxel, driven by the Westside Rollerz, is a brilliant and simple way of making this Activity easy. If you want to push it, the FBI SUV is also a good vehicle to use. Fit your vehicle with nitrous from Rim Jobs, in order to get that extra boost when you need it. Remember only to use nitrous on straights - go into a corner, and you'll be on the receiving end of a wreck. The map and radar will plot a route from checkpoint to checkpoint via the GPS, and it is usually accurate and the best way. But, like in reality, it isn't always reliable, so use common sense as well. If the GPS wants to take you through a set of pillar supports with little-to-no space, ignore it and stick to the roadway. You can always cut corners and make the route a lot more short just as long as you don't miss your checkpoints. Finally, if you find that your car is close to going up in flames, head to a Rim Jobs before you begin a race. Repairs are not too expensive, especially with the money you earn at higher levels. The opponents will get increasingly rough through advancement in levels, making this Activity a challenge to keep on top of things. Otherwise, try not to mess up and use nitrous when possible. You can activate races in your own time after activating the Activity from its light-cone, giving you as much time as you want to get repairs and head to the starting line. Los Carnales Variant --------------------- The Protagonist runs into a guy taking a look at some "tasteful" magazines. He offers him street races, should he be interested. Unique Reward: 10% Discount on any modifications at Rim Jobs Vice Kings Variant ------------------- The Protagonist meets one of Stilwater's prolific racers, having some problems with his crew over the phone. It turns out one of his guys has gone missing over a scrape in one of their street races, and he needs another racer. It's the call of The Protagonist to help out. Unique Reward: 10% Discount on any modifications at Rim Jobs Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- The Protagonist is right in the middle of a group of racers ready to get going. The girl that has organized it gives him a chance to get ready for some street racing if he wants to. Unique Reward: 10% Discount on any modifications at Rim Jobs Rewards - All Three -------------------- A 20% Discount on any modifications at Rim Jobs, adding up to a total of 50%. The "Tuner" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8D. Snatch *********** This is the same deal as what you did with Will in Saint's Row, but four times as long and much harder in later levels. You will get Notoriety for doing this and it will be rough. You need to get a four-door car to start off with, and then switch to other four-door cars when yours gets damaged. At the middle levels, it can be hard to find a replacement, but as you reach higher levels of Notoriety, you can simply steal the vehicles of the rival gang. Another issue with high Notoriety is fighting off the rival gang members. You will want to stock up on your weapons in order to fend them off. You should be using Pistols and SMGs for this Activity, as the majority of shooting will be from your vehicle. Other than shooting and switching vehicles, route planning is good, as you will find yourself picking up eight hoes by the final levels. You also have a time limit, but for most, this isn't an issue. You may need some luck to carry you through, but look at your map and plan your route, and try to determine which group is best, i.e. which group will have three hoes, two hoes, or hoes travelling by the pimp's vehicle. Los Carnales Variant --------------------- The Protagonist meets a female Barrio pimp, who has had all of her girls taken by Los Carnales, presumably, with only "stained bedsheets" to remember them by. Unique Reward: Pimp Clothing - Access it in your Wardrobe Vice Kings Variant ------------------- The Protagonist meets Vicki, after she deals with a troublesome client. She explains how her rivals have taken all of her girls, and she's on the verge of going out of business. If The Protagonist wants to have a fun time here, he needs to bring the girls back Unique Reward: Pimp Jewellery - Access the set in your Wardrobe Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- The Protagonist walks up to Helmers, a slob of a pimp operating from the deck chair outside his trailer. He angers him by knocking over his beer can pyramid and then knocks him down when he tries to attack him. He is struggling in the business with all of his girls running away to a much more secure business that is being properly run. He wants The Protagonist to get them back for him. Unique Reward: Special Variant - Baron (Vehicle) Rewards - All Three -------------------- A Pimp Cane Shotgun, claim it from your Weapons Cache. The "Pimp" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8E. Escort *********** One of the main canons of this game is driving people around. This Activity is no different, having you driving around working girls "dealing" with their V.I.P. clients whilst dodging the media and even Private Investigators. You have a Pleasure Meter, which will fill up over time or by fulfilling the client's requests. There is also a Footage Meter, which goes up when in the radius of a news van. The aim of this Activity is somewhat simple - fill up the Pleasure Meter before the Footage Meter is filled, before dropping off a happy client. After completion of two consecutive levels, you will have to drop off the girl and pick up another girl from the nightclub, before picking up the client and continuing with your job. At the lower levels, you are simply dodging the news vans and driving the two around until the client is fully satisfied. At later levels, they will give out frequent and difficult requests, such as maintaining a speed for a set amount of time, dropping the pair off at a theater, motel or the waterfront in the Red Light District, or by killing a target. Also in the later levels, the media get more persistent and dangerous in the way they obtain their footage. They may set up roadblocks, or hit you head-on. You will have to be quick, try not to mess up, or get stuck in the middle of one of their roadblocks. When you have fulfilled the meter, they will back off and you can continue to drop them off. If you are a good driver, you should be fine. Los Carnales Variant --------------------- The DJ of this nightclub has a proposition for The Protagonist. He has V.I.P. clients that would like to have their "activities" with his girls in complete privacy. He tells The Protagonist to take the car and his girl to the client and keep the media at bay. Unique Reward: A "new set of clothing" in your Wardrobe Vice Kings Variant ------------------- The club owner is unhappy when a snoopy photographer is taking snaps of his girls, and The Protagonist deals with him in a thug's professional manner. He offers him a job in charge of helping his clients keeping their affairs under cover, so to speak. Unique Reward: Samantha as a Homie, call her if you need help Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- The owner of this nightclub thinks that The Protagonist should be in another, "trashier" place to stop and relax. She has a list of clients that are looking for "companionship", and she offers him a job in making sure the media don't find out about their "hobbies". Unique Reward: Special Variant - Anchor (Vehicle) Rewards - All Three -------------------- Special Variant - The Job (Vehicle). The "Fluffer" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8F. Drug Trafficking ********************* Ditch the driving and ride shotgun for this Activity. You are protecting your friend from any heat they may receive, gang members or the authorities, as they meet up with their buyers and to make their profit. Because this is an illegal Activity, and because it is being done on enemy turf, you will receive either a significant Notoriety level in either Police or Gangs, or a middle level of both. You can sometimes use your own weapons, but you usually get a set inventory with a steady amount of ammunition, including infinite Pistol ammunition for each level. You want to be using the pistol if you are very accurate with it. You only need to pop the driver of the squad car and the gang vehicle, and then it will steadily stop and the passenger will get out, and in mostly every case he will not continue the pursuit. By the later levels, you'll be swarmed by enemies, so keeping them off of you is essential to survival. If you aren't the sharp- shooter, make use of the stronger weapons. The vehicles driven - the Topher (Los Carnales), the Aqua (Vice Kings) and the Hannibal (Westside Rollerz) - are pretty crappy cars compared to the other vehicles that are so much better than it. But DO NOT ditch these vehicles. I can confirm that they have a much higher damage resistance compared to the normal, generic vehicles. No matter how slow they accelerate or how crappy they handle, keep inside the vehicle, except from a situation where you have to revive the dealer if they get killed. The higher levels get difficult, especially Level 8 of the Westside Rollerz variant, where you have to fend off the FBI, which is extremely difficult when you think about it. For that, keep on trying and retrying the Activity at this point to get a good handgun, and start killing drivers. Use the other weapons if you need to when they come to a stop where you are. Other than that, don't do anything stupid, like launching RPGs or tossing Grenades at a vehicle that is five feet away from you, have good accuracy and quick timing when it comes to switching weapons, and you should make things easier on yourself. It may be a challenge, but then again, where would the fun be if this was insanely easy instead of moderately difficult? Los Carnales Variant --------------------- The Protagonist finds a dealer/hippie, Tobias, who has just executed his protection for taking more of his money than he should have. This psychotic, possibly weed-growing, trigger-happy lunatic now needs a replacement. The Protagonist will now have to protect him whilst he makes his deals on enemy turf. Unique Reward: An increase on the decay of Los Carnales Notoriety Vice Kings Variant ------------------- The Protagonist meets Marvin, who gets straight into what he wants from him. Business is going good - he has enough drugs to sell to enough buyers to turn a good buck, but the problem is that these buyers are being stolen from his rivals. The Protagonist is promised a good payment for protecting him. Unique Reward: An increase on the decay of Vice Kings Notoriety Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- The Protagonist talks to Laura, a typical stay-at-home soccer mom, who has discovered the lucrative drugs trade for herself. She is worried, however, that it might turn nasty with either the buyers she has lined up or the heat she'll receive on stealing clients from the gangs in the city. If The Protagonist protects Laura, she promises that he will be paid in full. Unique Reward: An increase on the decay of Westside Rollerz Notoriety Laura as a Homie, call her if you need help Reward - All Three ------------------- An increase on the decay of Police Notoriety. The "Pusher" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8G. Hitman *********** Become Agent 47 and perform hits for your clients in order to receive a reward. By visiting the places on the map and activating the Activity, you will receive a list of 8 people for each variant, what weapon has to be used to kill them, and an option to pin them on your HUD. By pinning the target on your HUD, when you begin playing again, you will see their picture, which district the game tells you they're likely to be when you find them, and the weapon icon showing which weapon should be used to kill them. If the game does generate the target, you will find a grey aiming reticule icon, just about the same as the actual Hitman icon, on your map. You may need to be wary of any weapons they may have when you attack them - some will run away, others will try and fight back with a Knife, and some are just plain dangerous. Be careful of some of the later hits, as they are more difficult than the others in terms of attacking them. The reward for the kill alone is how far they were down on the list. Killing the fifth target listed will earn you the same amount of money for completing Level 5 of the generic Activities, for example. There are a few tips on how to do this: Number one - be patient. This Activity will become long, drawn-out and boring if you solely concentrate on it, but you may want to do other things between hunting down your targets. This will be over in a matter of at least a couple of hours of real time, not simply a quick 10 minute job per list. Number two - be sensible and vigilant. It seems stupid to point this out, but it is valid. You will be pissed if you use the wrong weapon, or if you had the icon pop up on your radar and then had it disappear. Make sure you look out for the icon if they are on your HUD, and when you're only metres away, make sure you are using the correct weapon. Number three - take in the detail of the character of your targets. What this means is that if your target is an old man, you want to look around for them in the district in the morning. If the target's a hooker or a player, you want to look around the district in the evening and night time. You get the idea. If you do struggle, keep them off of your HUD and memorize what they look like. When a target is pinned onto the HUD, the game engine will purposely be reluctant on generating that character. If you pop a target that was not on your HUD, you will still get credit for it. Just double-check that they are a perfect match for the target, and gun them down. The hits that were the most difficult for me were made slightly easier by doing this. Remember that not everyone is going to have the same experience as you. For some, this may take hours of gaming; for others, a matter of barely an hour. Sometimes a target will pop up in one place that is completely different to another gamer. This is what makes this a love/hate Activity - depending on what experience you got, it was either a breeze or a chore. Without further ado, we'll get on. HMN1. Los Carnales Variant --------------------------- The Protagonist is shown a picture to a woman in a bar - the person in it is someone she wants killed. She makes a prediction - either he's thinking how he could possibly kill someone he doesn't even know, or how he is going to spend the money on offer. She advises on the latter. The eight hits are as follows: >> Hit: Julia >> Weapon: Vice 9 >> Info: She can be found wandering the Barrio in the morning. >> Hit: Thomas >> Weapon: Baseball Bat >> Info: Seeing as this guy works in construction, he is most likely found at the Docks & Warehouses neighborhoods. >> Hit: Gabriel >> Weapon: Tombstone >> Info: This is yet another construction worker, who is likely to be found on the sidewalk on the road south of the refinery in the Factories district. >> Hit: Chris >> Weapon: SKR-7 Spree >> Info: A mailman, who you can easily stop as he makes his way off the highway at Wardill Airport. If that fails you, look out for a white guy driving a mail truck. >> Hit: Theresa >> Weapon: Knife >> Info: The game was reluctant to spawn her, even without her on the HUD. Find the main road that runs through Encanto, which is the same street as the Image as Designed Plastic Surgeon, and drive up and down it at night, looking for hoes. I scoped her at the top of this street. Stay in Encanto. >> Hit: Tina >> Weapon: GDHC .50 >> Info: A blonde on roller-skates can sometimes stand out a mile off. Ignore where the game advises you to search for her, and look around the Museum district for her. I scoped her near the Max Visions Theater. >> Hit: Bill >> Weapon: Molotov Cocktails >> Info: Look for him around the Factories district. Get right next to him and drop a Molotov at your feet. He will be dead, and you'll need to eat food to make up for the health you lose. It's better than completely missing him and failing when you run out, having to sacrifice finding the target. >> Hit: John >> Weapon: McManus >> Info: This guy will only appear on a Level 4 Police Notoriety, as one of the gunman on the chopper. Get a good aim, pop him, and then lose the heat at a Forgive and Forget. Unique Reward: A Gold GDHC .50 - claim it at your weapons cache This handgun differs from the generic handgun, with a 15-round clip, but less ammunition capacity. But it is pretty bad-ass. HMN2. Vice Kings Variant ------------------------- The Protagonist meets up with a man in the bar, telling him about one of the man's "niggas" who has a court case coming up. He wants The Protagonist to eliminate everyone on the witness stand. The eight hits are as follows: >> Hit: Dick >> Weapon: Knife >> Info: This guy is yet another hard find. Try the Ultor Dome late at night - that's where I found him on a number of occasions. >> Hit: Marty >> Weapon: Baseball Bat >> Info: An easier hit than before - he can easily be found in the Suburbs on a morning. >> Hit: Richard >> Weapon: .44 Shepherd >> Info: This guy is a businessman, so you could catch him driving or walking to work on a morning through Downtown and the High End Retail. >> Hit: Henry >> Weapon: T3K Urban >> Info: You want to drive a Status Quo around the Downtown area to get him out. He is a chauffeur, and therefore he will usually be driving someone around. >> Hit: Billy Bob >> Weapon: 12 Gauge >> Info: You are more likely to find this hick in Downtown on a morning. He's the only guy in that area wearing a cowboy hat, so he should stand out easily. >> Hit: Don >> Weapon: .44 Shepherd >> Info: This guy is a "playa" - he lies about being in a gang in order to pick up girls. No wonder someone wants him dead. His trademark sun- glasses can easily be spotted as he hitches a lift around the Red Light District or going into Saint's Row. >> Hit: Hank >> Weapon: Molotov Cocktails >> Info: This guy drives a delivery truck. Jack it, and then toss the Molotov at your feet, just like you did for Bill for Los Carnales Hitman. Remember to eat something afterwards. >> Hit: Louise >> Weapon: RPG Launcher >> Info: Louise is a meter maid, driving a Quota, and she is easy to spot without the use of pinning the HUD. Park in the middle of the street, and if she pulls up, she is likely to write you a ticket. You can then blow her away. Unique Reward: A Platinum T3K Urban - claim it at your weapons cache Once again, this has a smaller ammunition capacity, but a clip of 65 rounds, which does balance it out in a slight way. HMN3. Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------------- The Protagonist meets Mr. Wong, the owner of the tea shop. He tells The Protagonist, through his translator, that he is honored to meet someone "of his tenacity". He then talks about a list of people who have angered him. The translator tells The Protagonist that they are not to be harmed. Getting that part wrong, Wong shoots his translator in the leg. He then tells The Protagonist, in English, that he actually wants them all dead. The eight hits are as follows: >> Hit: Jackie >> Weapon: Vice 9 >> Info: Jackie is a medic, so pin her up on your HUD and dial 911 until she arrives, and then kill her. >> Hit: Alan >> Weapon: Knife >> Info: This guy is more likely to be found near the Ultor Dome. >> Hit: Jose >> Weapon: T3K Urban >> Info: This guy is a truck driver, more likely to be found driving his rig on the highway through Copperton, the Truck Yard district. >> Hit: Charles >> Weapon: Nightstick >> Info: I found him at night around the Suburbs area. Make sure you beat him down before he can attack you. >> Hit: Roxanne >> Weapon: NR4 >> Info: She can be found in the Apartments district rather than the advised Barrio district. >> Hit: Juan >> Weapon: Tombstone >> Info: Keep Juan off of your HUD - those red pants he is wearing is enough to make him memorable. When you see him taking a jog, usually around the Barrio more commonly than anywhere else, cap him for his fashion sense. >> Hit: Bucky >> Weapon: Grenades >> Info: Again, keep him off of your HUD, and look for a guy in a hotdog suit around the Arena district. Stock up on Grenades, as an accurate toss of one is the only way you're taking him down safely. >> Hit: Bill >> Weapon: K6 Krukov >> Info: Bill works for the FBI, therefore you need to get maximum Police Notoriety. The easiest way to do this is to begin Level 8 of Drug Trafficking in the Suburbs, where you get that level of Notoriety, and make sure you have the K6 Krukov that is provided. You can then kill as many FBI agents as you want until you get the kill. Unique Reward: A Platinum AS12 Riot Shotgun - claim it in your weapons cache This has the same ammunition capacity as the regular Shotguns, but with a 15- round clip of shells. HMN4. Rewards - All Three -------------------------- A Platinum RPG Launcher, with 21 Rockets - claim it at your weapons cache. A 50% Discount on all weapons and ammunition at Friendly Fire. The "Contract Killer" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8H. Insurance Fraud ******************** Throw yourself in front of cars to make some money off of false claims. Press LT or RT in the specified zones to make cash. Spend too long here, and it will move, the timer frozen. Once you make enough, you pass. The difference here is that bonuses are made from the normal reward you get. For example, on Level 1, make double your score, and you make $100 plus a bonus of $100, adding up to $200. This only applies to your cash reward, however - you still earn the same amount of Respect. You also get multipliers for combinations (getting hit by two cars in the same dive), people witnessing it, and so on. The civil bonus, which is a dive involving civil vehicles, such as Ambulances, can be easily exploited by using a Five-O police cruiser and crashing it into oncoming vehicles. Repair it before starting the next level so you don't destroy it. There is an Achievement, "Grifter (10G)", which asks you to get $200,000 in Insurance claims. A couple of levels advancement should do the trick for this. Otherwise, keep on taking the Five-O and breeze through these levels. Los Carnales Variant --------------------- The Protagonist meets Dr. Gonzalez, who boasts the millions he has made in having people faking injuries to claim on the insurance. He wants to run the same thing again with The Protagonist. Unique Reward: You take less damage from car collisions Vice Kings Variant ------------------- The Protagonist sits in the office of Legal Lee, advising one of his clients on making sure she fulfils her fraudulant claim. He then gets onto The Protagonist, and how he could make extra cash. Unique Reward: You take less damage from bullets Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- The Protagonist meets up with a injury lawyer, who has only recently passed his degree in quick time. He promises to make The Protagonist "the richest son-of-a-bitch in the ghetto". Unique Reward: You take less damage from explosions Rewards - All Three -------------------- Your health will now regenerate faster than the standard rate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8I. Demolition Derby ********************* There is only one variant this time around at the Ultor Arena. The Protagonist meets up with two brothers - one telling him to get out of the way, and the other advising him to join in. You have to destroy a certain amount of cars before you run out of opponents to ram or if you get wiped out yourself. You need to get the final blow on the vehicle to have it count as your wreck - setting it in flames and having some other idiot ramming into it will not count. It's more of the final blow rather than the most damage inflicted. Make sure you don't get wrecked, and just set about destroying other vehicles. The better drivers will have a good time with this. Rewards: Rampage and Ruckus Demo Derby vehicles are available in your Garage The "Demo Demon" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8J. Chop Shop ************** There's nothing better than stealing cars and then getting them to a garage in order to make a profit. You have to steal vehicles and make certain modifications to them in order to have the garage accept them. As with the Hitman Activity, there is a list of cars you must obtain. They have their own set rewards, not following the rule of thumb for the regular rewards. The reward is based upon the car's performance statistics and whether it is common or rare. Any modifications required are listed, and can be installed at any Rim Jobs. All these vehicles are generic, and can be found in your own time easily, as once they are pinned on your HUD, they are purposely difficult to find. When you have found the vehicle and the right modifications, deliver them to the chop shop you picked up the list from and that will be it, ticked off the list. This can also take time to do - depending on the vehicles you have or can find this will take, in full, anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. CS1. Los Carnales List ----------------------- The Protagonist meets the owner of the chop shop, who is bound to a wheelchair because of "excessive force", but that's another story. He assures The Protagonist that he still knows what cars are bound to sell, and if he could get them back safely and in one piece, the pair could make a healthy profit. The eight vehicles required for this list are: >> Vehicle: Reaper >> Modifications: None >> Information: The hearse is uncommon, even around the parts of Wardill Airport. If you have beaten the Westside Rollerz mission, "No Time To Mourn" and unlocked Zombie Lin as a Homie, she will arrive in a Reaper that will be accepted by the garage. If you aren't that far through the storyline, it's either doing that or waiting for them. >> Reward: $1,500 >> Vehicle: Ambulance >> Modifications: None >> Information: Simply dial 911 and take this back to the garage. >> Reward: $1,000 >> Vehicle: Destiny >> Modifications: None >> Information: If you struggle to find one, the Wheel Woman (Homie) will drive one, as well as the Saints when you have taken over only a few neighborhoods. >> Reward: $750 >> Vehicle: Taxi >> Modifications: Street Hood >> Information: This is one of the easier finds. A Taxi is obviously common around the city. >> Reward: $750 >> Vehicle: Slingshot >> Modifications: Stylish Hood >> Information: The 3rd Street Saints will drive this small, old vehicle early on in the game, when you don't have that many neighborhoods. >> Reward: $750 >> Vehicle: Bootlegger >> Modifications: Hot Rod Hood >> Information: This vehicle is most common around the Docks & Warehouses at at any time. >> Reward: $1,000 >> Vehicle: Compton >> Modifications: Muscle Hood, Stylish Rims >> Information: Look around Vice Kings territory, as this is one of their gang vehicles. >> Reward: $1,000 >> Vehicle: La Fuerza >> Modifications: Hot Rod Hood, Low-Rider Rims >> Information: This is a car driven by Los Carnales, so try and draw one out by getting Level 3 Notoriety with them. >> Reward: $1,000 Unique Reward: Special Variant - Hollywood (Vehicle) CS2. Unique Reward: Special Variant - Ricochet (Vehicle) CS4. Rewards - All Three ------------------------- A discount for repairing your vehicle at Rim Jobs. The "Scavenger" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8K. Mayhem *********** Where would these games be if you didn't get to destroy public property? This Activity entails causing so much expense to the city in property damage in the time limit. You earn a combo on how much stuff you have destroyed, and the higher your combo, the faster the bar empties, but the value of the property you destroy goes up significantly. The money lies on destroying property in quick succession. You are limited to one district for each level, but then you can wreak havoc anywhere on the final level. You also get an infinite amount of ammunition for certain weapon classes, and using a certain weapon will give you a bonus in the money you make. These bonuses can also be found in killing a certain group of people, or destroying a certain class of vehicle, such as sedans or SUVs. Getting high Notoriety can also be profitable, being able to shoot down helicopters and so on. Just make sure you are in a district where you can cause a large amount of damage. Look out for picket fences as well - they are the single-most, essential piece of property that can be destroyed to make a large profit. Los Carnales Variant --------------------- The Protagonist meets Rico Suave, the owner of this nightclub. He tells how people have been causing him unnecessary stress, and he wants The Protagonist to tear up the city in order to scare them out of this. Unique Reward: Molotov Cocktails - claim them at your weapons cache Vice Kings Variant ------------------- The Protagonist meets the middle-aged owner of this nightclub, and she isn't too happy with her soon-to-be divorced husband, Nathaniel. She has learnt that he has ran off with her sister, and she wants to make him pay by destroying his holdings. The Protagonist has to destroy as much public property to hurt Nathaniel's interests. Unique Reward: Grenades - claim them at your weapons cache Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- The Protagonist meets Reno, who is having problems with a rookie cop who isn't "paying any respect". He is threatening to shut down the nightclub by raiding it with help from the Stilwater PD. Luckily for Reno, he has paid off a few crooked cops, and has discovered the raid is due on this night. He wants The Protagonist to cause damage in other places in the city in order to hold off the cops, providing time to get rid of any incriminating evidence. He promises "hazard pay" to The Protagonist for this. Unique Reward: Pipe Bombs - claim them at your weapons cache Rewards - All Three -------------------- RPG Launcher - Claim it at your weapons cache The "Vandal" Achievement, worth 10G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8L. Hijacking ************** Car-jacking is one of the main focal points of this game, and this Activity focuses on this. On Hijacking, you have to reach a vehicle in a certain time, hijack it, and fend off any resistance back to the truck depot you started out from. This Activity can be used to acquire some of the vehicles from the Chop Shop. The resistance you get depends on the type of vehicle you are hijacking and delivering - if it's a gang vehicle, you're fighting off the local gang. If it's a normal vehicle or a civil service vehicle, such as a Peacekeeper or FBI SUV, you are fighting the authorities. What is difficult is the resistance you get in later levels, so bring as many Homies as you can for this job - I recommend Samantha, Mr. Wong, and then either Laura or Will. This should be left until last for regular Activities, because you will need some extra help to complete later levels. If you are forced to abandon Homies, finish off the level, but don't continue to the next level. You can call them back and get back on with it. The game should also provide a four-door sedan for you parked nearby - it seems the game developers were already one step ahead of you. Otherwise, get to the vehicles quickly and if you need to, lose the Notoriety. Los Carnales Variant --------------------- Ralph is the owner of this failing shipping company. He calls upon The Protagonist to rob shipments of his rival companies so he can get back on his feet with it. The reward is whatever turn-over The Protagonist receives. Reward: Racer's Clothing - access the set in your Wardrobe Vice Kings Variant ------------------- This guy is happy that he finally has his own company, free to drive rigs. He is still peeved, however, because of the companies that turned him down for being street-trash. He wants to get revenge by The Protagonist stealing their shipments, therefore putting them out of business. He is even coined as his "employee". Reward: Racers Jewellery - access the set in your Wardrobe Westside Rollerz Variant ------------------------- After getting the attention of the mechanic, The Protagonist infuriates him by simply wiping his hand from grease. He now needs to prove that he is willing to get his hands dirty, so to speak, by stealing his rivals' shipments. Reward: Special Variant - Attrazione (Vehicle) Rewards - All Three -------------------- Special Variant - Titan (Vehicle) The "Fast and Furious" Achievement, worth 10G. And that's all the regular activities. Enjoy the "Racket Lord (160G)" Achievement if you got it, as well as all the Respect you earned. ****************************************************************************** 9. Other Activities Listed in this section are the Activities that are not included in getting the "Racket Lord" Achievement, and carry their own rewards to go along with the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9A. "Loan Shark" ***************** The First Born Loans Office is located in Downtown, and owned by business partners Mike & Dan. They offer The Protagonist loans that they need paying back, unless he wants to have two gangsters on his back. You can borrow money based on Neighborhood Control, i.e. advancement through the game. This can be anywhere to $5,000 to $50,000, and you have to pay back the loan in a set amount of days. This should only be done to get the "Jumped the Shark" Achievement, worth 10G, and when you have complete control of all 'Hoods to get it over and done with. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9B. Street Tags **************** Around the city, apart from the district of Saint's Row, are 75 Street Tags. There are 25 per gang, and the amount you have completed for a gang can be found in the "Info" section of the Pause Menu, under the Activities. For completing all the tags for one gang, your Sprint meter will decrease a bit more slowly. Complete a second set of all street tags, and another bonus to your Stamina is implemented. Complete all 75 to get the "Getting Up" Achievement, worth 10G, and you unlock the Unlimited Sprint feature. This is a brilliant thing to complete based on what you get out of it in the actual game. The Street Tags have been taken from DSDanielStephen's guide, who has no problem with me using it, because we co-wrote it. He deserves credit for this, seeing as it is his guide I have taken it from. "Hostage" ************** Get in a car filled with passengers, and press Y when prompted to begin the "Hostage" Activity. You have to keep the police off of your back during your time limit to earn a cash reward, along with some Respect. Your rewards get higher when in a more expensive vehicle and with more passenger, and the timer goes up accordingly. Your Notoriety is based off of this as well - it steadily climbs at harder instances, but will rise faster on the easier ones. Stop for more than a couple of seconds, the hostages escape, and that is something we don't want to happen. You can earn anything from $300 to $3,000 for each instance, as well as Respect rewards ranging from 300 upwards. There is not a set number for a reward in the game, but getting ransoms from 50 hostages will get you the "Negotiator" Achievement, worth 10G, plus you will be earning a lot of money from this - at the lowest rate, it will earn you at least $15,000, and at the highest rate, just over $50,000 if you stop at 50. This counts it in Hostages in total, not instances (if you had an instance completing 3 Hostages, the number is at three, but if it counted in instances, it would only be one). The figure can be found in your Statistics in the "Info" section of the Pause Menu. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9E. "Theft" ************ Late at night, when the stores are close, break into a store with a safe in the backroom (the liquor stores, gun stores and music stores all have them) and crack the safe, load up the crates in your vehicle and take them to your local pawnbroker, and you will earn money for it. This is the Theft Activity. You earn Notoriety for hanging around, and if you fail a few times at cracking the safe, the Notoriety gets jacked up to Level 2 or 3. You want to use a fast vehicle and load up as many crates as you can before returning to the pawn- broker. You can also do multiple robberies every night - on my runs, I robbed the Liquor Store, Friendly Fire and Sloppy Seconds in Saint's Row. On the same night, I jacked multiple stores in the Apartments district and the stores in Misty Lane. All in the same night. Start small and then work up to this spree of mass theft. Once again, there is no in-game reward, but if you get 30 boxes to the pawn- brokers, you earn the "Professional Thief" Achievement, worth 10G. Another Achievement unlocker, this one. And so we wave off the Activities, and now we can get onto the storyline. Starting with... ****************************************************************************** 10. Los Carnales Los Carnales, translated into English as "The Brothers", are a gang that has been operating in Stilwater longer than everybody else. Alejandro Lopez set his eye upon Stilwater many years ago, and he was slowly gaining power until he encountered resistance in Sunnyvale Gardens, giving up his spread of power, and the gang now populate the southern reaches of the city, from the Airport to the Barrio. Lopez has died since then, leaving the power to his two sons. They are currently being powered with a strong alliance between them and a Colombian drug cartel. They have lost their position as the strongest gang in the city, but they will still be a hard gang for the Saints to defeat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10A. Key Members ***************** The gang has a hierarchy that pans out like this: Hector Lopez - Leader Hector is the eldest and the most powerful of the Lopez brothers, showing his scars of it with blindness in his right eye, and a scar running down from the right side of his forehead to the right cheek. He is cunning and ruthless - if any of his rivals show hostility, he will figure out where to hit them. Angel Lopez - No. 2 The younger of the Lopez brothers, Angelo clearly shows little in terms of leadership and having sensible priorities, and is easily angered when rival gangs threaten his and Hector's standing in the city. He does seem willing to take the reins from his brother once in a while, but only when he can be trusted enough and depending on certain circumstances. Victor "Tanque" Rodriguez - Main Enforcer You do not get a street name like that for a reason. This guy is the stuff that urban legends are made from - he has apparently survived countless gang attacks, making him top man when it comes to defending honor. His resiliance is what makes him a trusted member of Los Carnales, but only heard speaking occasionally, and only in Spanish. Manuel Orejuela - Representative Orejuela is the main connection between the Lopez Brothers and the Colombian cartel they are allied with. He enjoys nightclubs, strip clubs, and sometimes flirting with Angelo's girlfriend, much to his anger. He seems to have known Alejandro Lopez, or at least what he did in Stilwater before his death. Luz Avalos - Associate Luz is simply Angelo Lopez's girlfriend, enjoying the sun and the shopping she can get and do in the city. She is constantly being advanced upon by Manuel, and is unintentionally the root to some of the problems between the Colombians and the Carnales in terms of Angelo and Manuel's rocky personal relationship. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10B. Los Carnales Storyline **************************** This storyline will have you taking away Los Carnales' connection, drugs and gun trade, and eventually, the complete extermination of the gang itself and taking their territory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC1. "Crackdown" ***************** Dex welcomes The Protagonist into this section of the church, introducing the clipboard littered with pictures of Los Carnales and the figure-heads. He goes into detail on Hector, Angelo, Manuel, Victor and their connection with their Colombians. Dex then tells The Protagonist that in order to get them out of the city, they need to split the connection between them and the Colombians, and then they go after their leaders. The first thing you need to do is destroy two drug labs - one in the Factories and the other in the Barrio. You only have to fight through little resistance from the gangsters, and then having to stand clear of the blast range when you pop a cap on the lab itself. When both are destroyed, the mission is complete. Mission Completed! Neighborhoods Gained - Southern Cross & The Mills ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC2. "The Missing Shipment" **************************** The Protagonist meets Troy & Dex at a gas station, planning an attack on a Carnales building. They are currently stumped on how they are planning an attack on where they're currently cutting their drugs. He then gets onto the subject of the docks - he has people keeping a look out there, and they've seen trucks moving in and out of there that are obviously affliated with the Carnales. He is only interested in the truck itself, and whatever is in it is "just a bonus". Troy wants to know why they are doing this, but Dex is not going to say until he has the truck sorted. Head to the docks in Poseidon Alley to attack the Carnales and steal the truck from them. On the way, Troy tells how he is worried what will happen once the Saints begin to get in deep with the Carnales, and how the Lopez Brothers will react when the rivalry grows. Anyway, once you're there, clear the area filled with Carnales, and protect Troy as he hot-wires the truck. When that is done, protect him to the bridge from the Factories into Saint's Row, where the attacks stop. Until then, protect him from the Carnales by killing the driver, saving on bullets. When he gets to the garage in Mission Beach, a cutscene plays. Hector, Angelo, Victor and Manuel are sat around the table at the poolside of his luxury home, Luz sunbathing nearby. Angelo gets roped into a favor by his brother, although he promised to take his girlfriend shopping. Manuel offers to take her, showing tension between him and Angelo, but Hector eventually settles him. He then gets a phone call, telling him that the Saints stolen his latest shipment. After this, he tells Victor and Angelo to gather their men and prepare them for an attack on Saint's Row. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC3. Stronghold - "Fox Drive Weapons Plant" ******************************************** Over the phone, Julius tells The Protagonist that the refinery he is standing outside of is a new business interest of the Carnales. Because he destroyed the drug labs and stolen their shipment, the Carnales are moving into the gun- running business, using the place to get this arm of the business up and running. Julius wants assurances that they never get this business off of the ground. You first have to kill the protection outside of the plant. Be careful, as the last two you are dealing with will be using McManus sniper rifles from afar, so keep a low head when killing everybody else, get close to them, and then kill them. When they are all dealt with, the warehouse doors concealing the entrance to the plant are opened, so fight your way past the Carnales that will use the support columns as cover and then kick down the door into the interior of the refinery. Whilst fending off the Carnales inside, you have to plant bombs near the chemical pipes, the machinery and the main office, before heading up to the roof to get atop the refinery and plant one final bomb there. You will then have 30 seconds to get clear. Head back down to the roof, and jump onto the scaffolding and down, and then sprint out of the radius. Once you're out, enjoy the fireworks. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Fox Drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC4. "Homeland Security" ************************* The Protagonist finds himself in the company of Dex again, and he tries to explain why he needed that truck. Before he has the opportunity, one of the Saints' thugs comes in, shaken for some reason. He explains his story - some of the crew saw Victor and Angelo and decided to ambush them. They had the pair pinned down, but the tide soon turned and they soon came out unscathed. He was unharmed, as he was watching from a distance. They've swarmed the district, so now they have to fight back. There are sixteen of Carnales thugs dotted all around Saint's Row - some are wreaking havoc at the Station, others are at part of the waterfront, and other gangsters are pulling off drive-bys. Let those in the vehicles come to you, and watch for any of them who attempt to attack you with heavy weaponry. When all sixteen are dead, the mission is completed. This is more of a large-scale Pushback more than anything. Mission Completed! $750 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC5. "Trojan Horse" ******************** The Protagonist meets up with Troy at the local garage in Mission Beach, where the truck has been patched up and ready to use. Finally, Dex reveals why he wanted the truck. The Carnales have a drug lab in the Factories, and it is heavily guarded. The plan is to drive the truck, filled with thugs, into the middle of the lab, and begin a surprise assault on the lab, killing everyone that shows resistance. Dex advises not to cause too much of a ruckus, as the plan is to wipe out this lab, and then take it over and get their nose into the drug business. Take the truck to the marker to have it loaded up. You can then take the gang over to the drug lab in Pilsen. It isn't that big of a surprise, but you can now set about cutting numbers down. You have Homies to look out for, but it may not matter whether you revive them or not when they are killed. Just concentrate on killing the Carnales outside and inside the lab, and everything should be grand. Another cutscene rolls, where Manuel is concerned of the true rumors that the Carnales' biggest drug lab got shut down. Hector tries to gloss over it, and then has to split up a lover's tiff between Angelo and Luz. Manuel does not believe him when "everything's under control", and this angers him, booting away one of the garden chairs. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Pilsen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC6. Stronghold - "Stoughton Shipyard" *************************************** This conversation is once again held over the phone between Julius and The Protagonist at the dockyards in Stoughton. The Carnales have had a large drug shipment come into town, using container crates. Julius doesn't want anyone to have it, seeing as there's way too much to take from them all at once, so he wants The Protagonist to push the crates into the water. A Bulldozer will pull up as soon as you regain control, being chased by Los Carnales. Kill them and take the Bulldozer, and carefully push the crates into the water. The biggest threat from the Carnales is any gangster using an RPG Launcher to attack you, so pick those guys off, and keep on knocking those crates into the water. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Stoughton ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC7. "McManus Says Hello" ************************** Dex, Troy and The Protagonist get a full demonstration of the McManus Sniper Rifle from the Friendly Fire store clerk, and after that, they discuss the Carnales. During the gang attack on the drug lab, one of the thugs that was there picked up a memo regarding the next meeting between Hector and the Colombians. They are meeting at the docks tonight, and Dex has seen an opportunity to break their relationship off for good. The plan is that The Protagonist takes the rifle, goes to the meeting place ahead of time to get a good vantage point, and waits for it to get under way. By killing Hector and everyone involved, his brother should think the Colombians were responsible, breaking their ties with the cartel. You have five minutes to get in position in time for the meeting. Head to Poseidon Alley, and carefully make your way to the top of the warehouse to look over the deal. Use the small concrete block here as cover for when you begin the attack. Wait until prompted to kill Hector, and then the rest of the group. They will assault you with RPGs, so you will want to use cover before taking your shots and cutting them down slowly. You can then see the drugs involved get confiscated by the cops, as well as Victor, who was keeping a close watch, calling Angelo and interrupting his spare time with Luz to inform him of the events. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Poseidon Alley ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC8. Stronghold - "Black Bottom Refinery" ****************************************** Julius informs The Protagonist that with Hector dead, they don't want the Carnales to think they're still street punks. This refinery is riddled with gang tags, and he wants The Protagonist to literally make them remember their name by tagging over all of it in their design. You will have to fight off the Carnales before you set out to spray over the Tag. You want to make sure you're covered when you begin the tagging interface as once you enter it, you cannot get out of it. Make sure every gang member has been taken down, and work your way from the ground up to the higher tags. When you have finished up, the stronghold is completed. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Black Bottom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC9. "Meeting Orejuela" ************************ The Protagonist, Troy and Dex are once again in each other's company. They discuss Manuel Orejuela - the Colombian "mouth-piece" - and they, at first, have mixed views. Troy wants to take this guy out, but Dex warns that if they take him out, it'll be war between them and the Colombians as well, which is not an ideal situation. They need to see what Orejuela's plans are in town first, and then they'll make a decision on whether he's worth working for. A visit to the Carnales' local strip club may do the trick. You are driving to Wardill Airport with Dex to look out for Orejuela. You may want to use a fast car for this one. Dex will also be slightly pedantic on how this will go, and how disorganized the Carnales are at the moment, as they wait for them to fight back. When you get to the strip club, the pair are met by a horrible surprise - Victor, ready to kill them. And he will if you cannot outrun him. Race away from him, and take out the Carnales that come after you, before losing them near Saint's Row, and heading back to the Church. Remember to use a fast car, otherwise you can kiss this goodbye. Mission Completed! $1,500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC10. "Strength In Numbers" **************************** Julius is unhappy that Dex and The Protagonist tried to organize a meeting with Orejuela without consulting him first, and then tells the group that any business that needs to be attended to is the responsibility of him and him alone. To add insult to injury, he tells Dex to stop acting bigger than he actually is. A gang attack then spills into the church, and now the four must fight their way out of this predicament. Clear out the church, and then head onto the south side of the church to fight off the Carnales that flood the graveyard. Make sure you use your best weapon to take them out. You will then have to do the same on the north side of the church. Eventually, Victor will try to make roadkill of you, so you need to destroy his car, whilst fighting off the Carnales attacking you, and then you have to really lay into Victor in order to kill him. When he is dead, you see Angelo toolin' up for trouble before finally losing his cool with Luz. Mission Completed! $3,000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC11. Stronghold - "Cecil Park Drug Lab" ***************************************** Julius phones The Protagonist outside this derelict building, informing him that Dex found out this place is hiding one of the Carnales' drug labs. He is ordered to take it out. You have to first fight your way up to the second level and take out the drug lab itself. The building is then surrounded by snipers and marksmen on the rooftops of nearby buildings. Carefully pop in and out of cover to take them all down, and a final swarm of reinforcements come. Just kill the Lieutenant to finish things off, and the stronghold is completed. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Cecil Park ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC12. "Possession With Intent" ******************************* When The Protagonist comes back to Dex and Troy, they discuss a meeting Julius had with Orejuela and the Colombians. The pair reached an agreement that if the Saints got their merchandise back, the Colombians will work with them, exclusively. Dex wants to storm the precinct where the drugs are being kept, but Troy is against it. He advises him that if they blew a hole in the wall of the evidence locker, the body count would be a lot less than just killing everyone inside the station. Take the Destiny and take it over to the garage nearby to get it loaded up with the explosives. You will have to go easy with the vehicle - one bump can set off the explosive. You have 1 minute and 40 seconds to get to the outside of the police station next to the evidence locker. When you get there, get clear of the blast, and the Saints intervene by parking up and loading the truck. You have to protect the truck for 3 minutes - during that time, your Notoriety steadily climbs to the maximum of Level 5. You will then have to fight off the FBI back to the garage in Mission Beach. You can detour from the normal route by using the Forgive and Forget in the Docks & Warehouses if you want. When you finish up, a cutscene goes to a nightclub, where the deal between the Saints and the Colombians is settled. It is interrupted by Angelo, who tries to kill the group. He flees when it doesn't work out, and everyone is unscathed. Manuel then gives Julius the address to the Lopez Mansion - info that is required to take him down and finish off the Carnales. He tells them "not to kill the senorita". Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Encanto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC13. Stronghold - "Charlestown Warehouse" ******************************************* Julius tells The Protagonist that this area is the grounds for a meeting between Lopez and some "out-of-towners". The plan for the Carnales seems to be is to call in another powerful connection and then rebuild. Julius needs this place to become a warzone to prevent Lopez getting a second shot at the city. First of all, you have to kill all the Carnales located here, before holding your position from attackers for two minutes. When you have done that, the real challenge comes in when two boss-like figures step in. They both have RPG Launchers and a lot of Health, so stand behind the trailers and start laying into them when you can, dodging the missiles. When they are both dead, you can relax. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Charlestown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC14. "House Call" ******************* You don't have a cutscene to have it explained - The Protagonist is taking Dex to the Lopez Mansion in order for him to "get what's comin' to him". He talks about taking it easy until they get there, and then just tearing the mansion apart until Lopez is dead. When you do eventually get to the Mansion, enter kill everyone outside, before heading inside and heading to Angelo's room. When you do get there, The Protagonist and Dex are surprised that they haven't got bullet holes in them, but soon they have to try and gun down Angelo. The Protagonist does manage to get Angelo, but he still makes it to his vehicle, and now they have to chase him down. Protect Dex as he keeps up with Angelo, up to the old drawbridge in the Red Light District. The drawbridge rises, and Angelo just bridges the gap. Dex slams on the brakes just in time, and concedes they have lost him. He will make sure, though, that Angelo does have his day. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Ezpata ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LC15. "What Goes Up..." ************************ Before he has a chance to get into the liquor store, Dex pulls up on The Protagonist, telling him that Angelo has a one-way flight on his jet out of the city. If he gets away, it gives him a chance to rebuild his gang and come back to turn the tide, so it's important that the pair hunt him down before he leaves the tarmac. Get to the Airport in 2-and-a-half minutes. Upon getting there in quick time, Angelo waits for Luz to arrive, and then hears The Protagonist and Dex coming. He gets ready to set off. You have to use the K6 to kill the Carnales. Look out for and take out the gangsters with RPGs, who will make this hard on you. When you get through them you can use the RPG Launcher to damage the plane before it gets off the ground. Upon destroying it, Dex and The Protagonist stop Luz in her tracks as they admire the destruction caused. She arrives, shoes in hand, and a glint of sadness of her lover's death. After multiple orders, Luz finally goes away, and Dex tells The Protagonist to take Angelo's car, and that he'll drop him off at his crib, dropping off the Raycaster he's currently driving as a reward. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Wardill Airport Lopez's Villa can be used as a Crib Lopez's Gunslinger in your Garage Dex's Raycaster in your Garage Los Carnales Gang Vehicles in your Garage The "Colombian Made" Achievement, worth 40G And that finishes off the Carnales storyline. Enjoy your rewards. ****************************************************************************** 11. The Vice Kings Back when Los Carnales began swarming the city, they were halted by resistance in Sunnyvale Gardens. Benjamin King and the local youths had organized this to stop a Hispanic overrule of the city. Eventually, they won this battle, pushing the Carnales to the south. The Vice Kings were born, and expanded their influence to the north, now having near complete control of the North Island. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 11A. Key Members ***************** The Vice Kings hierarchy lines up like this: Benjamin King - Leader Having a gang named in your honor is not something minor - this man is the most prolific criminal in the city. He has confidence with his gang with affliations towards Police Chief Monroe, plus the many business interests he has in the city. He is not to be taken anything other than very seriously. Warren "EZ Money" Williams - Chief Lieutenant A street rapper, Warren is the opposite of King and the interests of his gang, as where King would plan his moves, Warren would prefer to take the whole city by force, taking out everyone who stands in their way. His attitude is no short of relentless, but at most times, Benjamin is able to keep him under control. Anthony "Tony" Green - Enforcer Much like "Tanque" Rodriguez, Tony has made his name by being a hard-ass, able to survive any attacks on him, and defending the gang from most threats. He is currently dating Tanya Winters. Tanya Winters - Lieutenant & Madame This girl runs the Vice King's prostitution ring, the true Madame of the city and not afraid to get her hands dirty when called upon. She still whores herself out, and this can interfere in Vice King business. She is currently dating the VK enforcer, Tony Green, but also likes to have Warren as her regular. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 11B. Vice Kings Storyline ************************** It's time to knock the King off of his throne, so to speak... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK1. "Aisha's Favor" ********************* The Protagonist meets with Johnny Gat in his "office", as the two talk about how much of "surprises" the pair are, in totally different departments. He explains how much of a "professional badass" Benjamin King happens to be, having a gang named after him. He then gets a call from his girl, Aisha, with a predicament on her hands. The Vice Kings have been taking girls off of the streets for some time, and Aisha's sister has fell victim to them. The Protagonist is told to follow a yellow sedan driving around, and get Aisha's sister back. Quickly get a car and heads towards the Vice Kings' car nearby. You will then have two circles on the radar, and you have to stay in the middle of the inner and outer circle. Enter the inner one, then back off before you get spotted. If you end up on the outer circle, you have 30 seconds to get back in it or you lose them. You eventually tail them to a storage space in Bavogian Plaza. Head inside and kill all the Vice Kings guarding Aisha's sister, along with a couple of other girls. They tell The Protagonist that the pimp that ordered the kidnapping has the key, and he's nearby in the Tee 'N' Ay nightclub. Head to the nightclub, not too far from here, and be prepared to take on the pimp and his protection. Get the key, free the girls, and fight your way back to your vehicle. You can finish up by taking them back to the Church. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Bavogian Plaza ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK2. "...To Kingdom Come" ************************** The Protagonist meets Aisha in the flesh, as she and Johnny fight. He thinks that because Aisha is now a massive street artist, she only remembers where she came from when she needs help or a favor. She tells Gat not to hold it over her if he plans to help her in future. Gat actually introduces The Protagonist to her after this argument, and they explain how and why they're going to kill her. Her record contract was signed with Kingdom Come Records, a label owned by the Vice Kings. There is a clause in it, though - once you've signed up, you're not getting out of it. With this, they can rip their talent off and push them around to keep up the agreement. Gat then explains how she has a recording session today, and on the way, he wants The Protagonist to rig her car with explosives, take her to the recording studio, and set off the bomb outside the building. If the call is that Aisha was in, and no-one's left alive to see her get through unscathed by running out the back way, they're going to think Aisha's dead, "settling" their differences, and hurting the Vice King's businesses whilst doing so. Head to the garage nearby to get loaded up with explosives. After doing this, the pair are met by a crazed fan, who isn't scared to knock them around. Take care of him quickly, squeeze through the barricade on this bridge, and then park outside the building. Everything goes according to plan, and the building is wrecked, surprisingly only via this car bomb. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Union Square ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK3. Stronghold - "Sunnyvale Loft" *********************************** Julius contacts The Protagonist on his cell phone as he stands around this wasteland. Warren Williams is staging a sit-down in this area to discuss the gang getting into the drugs trade. Julius doesn't want any additional competition in this business, especially from the likes of the Vice Kings, so he wants The Protagonist to tear up this neighborhood and put them off the talks. First of all, clear out the entire area of the wasteland, then head around the front of this building, kicking down the entrance, and killing the rest of the Vice Kings inside. When you have finished, you are met by reinforcements. Pick up the nearby McManus, and pop all of those who come at you - 17 in total. When they are dead, the stronghold is complete. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Sunnyvale Gardens ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK4. "Always Use Protection" ***************************** Gat and the disguised, now dead Aisha are sat at Freckle Bitch's, tucking into a burger. Aisha soon walks off to "get some air", so The Protagonist then has the opportunity to be enlightened on Johnny's next move on the Vice Kings. He has told information by Aisha's sister about Tanya - the girlfriend of Tony Green, and the regular to King's No. 2, Warren. He thinks that if the Saints go after Tanya, they're messing up their rivals right at the heart of the operations. Seeing as she is the "top pimp", her businesses are mainly focused in Prawn Court and the Red Light District. Head to Prawn Court and take out the four security patrols. There is only two per vehicle, so they are not too dangerous on their own. Upon killing off all eight gangsters, Gat will call, ordering The Protagonist to head to her brothel and kill her. You will first have to get past all the Vice Kings that are guarding this place, head inside, and kill all 14 defenders of the keep. Unfortunately, none of them happened to be Tanya. You are given a cutscene into the boardroom of Benjamin King for the first time, with Tony Green and Warren Williams. They discuss the cost of the studio that has been destroyed, and how they are going to make up their losses. He is not happy that Tanya's not holding down the fort, either. He tells him what the Saints have been doing in the Red Light District, and then Warren gets a little uneasy with them, telling King not to "let these bitches disrespect them". He sits him down, telling him that they are not going to go to blows with them just yet. Tanya then comes in, informing them that the Saints have taken them down in Prawn Court. Warren starts up again, and King truly scalds him this time. He plans to have Chief Monroe put pressure on them, and then they can take it back. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Prawn Court ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK5. "Reinforcements" ********************** This is activated some time after the next mission with a call from Johnny Gat. He informs The Protagonist that the cops have began beating down on some of the boys, and that he needs to get off the street. He then finds out that the Vice Kings are attempting to take back Prawn Court. He needs The Protagonist to ignore what he just said, and to stop the Vice Kings from getting their territory back. This is essentially a Pushback mission, only with the addition of cops. You have to take down all nine Lieutenants in three areas - in a small area loaded with container crates, at the brothel you attacked in the last mission, and beside the rundown housing. When they are all dead, the mission is completed. Mission Completed! $1,500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK6. Stronghold - "Filmore Parking Garage" ******************************************* Julius explains to The Protagonist that the Vice Kings are meeting up once again for a sit-down. Only this time, it's in this parking garage, and they're discussing if they want to make money by rigging sports games. Julius tells The Protagonist that "no-one fucks with his hockey game", so it's his job to disband another meet. Using the Grenades provided, you have to destroy all nine Vice King vehicles. There are two vehicles and some enemies to dispose of on each level, up to the top level. Just stand clear and watch out for enemies hiding behind any of the columns or around the corners of this place. A couple of vehicles will be driven around, so protect yourself from becoming roadkill and kill everyone inside it, and then destroy it. When you get to the top level, the final Vice King gang member tries to escape. Follow him off of the ramp, trying not to screw up your landing, and then shoot the hell out of his car until it blows. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Filmore You will get a phone call from Johnny Gat, enlightening you on the next Vice Kings mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK7. "Best Laid Plans..." ************************** The Protagonist meets up with Johnny Gat at the church, with a lot of weapons on the table in front of him; he watches Johnny struggle to choose a gun for the purposes of this job. He then decides on a Tombstone shotgun, and tells The Protagonist that his boys are going to meet them at an abandoned police station, where Tony and Tanya are supposedly hiding in. Head to the abandoned station in Shivington. You are only dealing with little resistance on "unblocking" the entrance, but the mission can get difficult from here. You are chasing Tanya through the station - don't bother wasting your ammo, as she is invincible. The Vice Kings that are protecting her can pop out from any room, corner or angle. Use the radar to find red dots so you know when to expect some surprise attack. You are eventually led up to the top level, where Tanya stands at the window - an easy shot...but Green was only stood by the doorway where they couldn't see him, and he holds the two at gunpoint. Eventually, Johnny manages to piss him off enough to shoot him in the leg, and then stabs Green in the shin. In the confusion caused, The Protagonist is able to escape. As discussed in that cutscene, the Vice Kings have the Stilwater PD beating down on them yet again, only on a larger scale than before. You have to return to the church, under the orders of Julius, whilst fending off the Vice Kings and Police Notoriety. You shouldn't have much trouble with either, as long as you don't get into a car wreck. King finishes off a phone call with Tony Green, confirming that they have Gat kidnapped and in their hands. Warren still wants to go after the Saints, instead of having them arrested. King warns him not to get into the gang into a gang war himself and getting killed because he wants to "prove something". The pair are soon back to making up, not for the first time. Mission Completed! $1,500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK8. Stronghold - "Abandoned Police Station" ********************************************* Julius talks to The Protagonist over the phone, once again brought to the abandoned police station. He tells The Protagonist that the Vice Kings kept a hold on one of 3rd Street's boys, and he needs them rescued before he gets killed. You have a Homie's Health bar on the top of your screen, and you are fighting your way through the station again. You will have to be on the lookout for any Vice King that hide behind cover and in the other rooms, ready to surprise you. When you get to this staircase, head down and kill all the Vice Kings down here, and recruit him. You will then have to head back up the staircase to the top level, and kill the man running the operations here. He has more health than your regular enemy, so get out a powerful gun and take him down. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Shivington ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK9. "Green With Envy" *********************** The Protagonist meets up with Julius, Dex, and Aisha, worried out of her mind with what happened to Johnny. Julius elaborates on how they plan to get him back. Gat truly hit a nerve with Tony Green after what he said about Tanya, so she is only allowed out of his sight when checking on the reconstruction of the recording studio. This gives her an excuse to continue as usual with Warren, so this is the plan - when she goes in, The Protagonist must kill the limo driver and take his place, and then take her back to Green's apartment, where Johnny is supposedly holed up. Head to the recording studio, and Tanya pulls up, ordering her driver to drive around the block before coming back. Wait for it to get out of eyeshot, and then kill the driver and park back up at the studio. Tanya will then take you on runs to the local stores - first, the Impressions clothing retailer in Nob Hill. You have 1 minute and 20 seconds to get there. You will then have to take her to Friendly Fire in Downtown, in the same time. Upon doing this, you get a call from Julius, telling The Protagonist that Troy's crew ignored the plan and are heading straight towards him to take out Tanya. He doesn't want them hurt, so you will have to out-run them for Tanya, and then drop her off at Green's apartment in Atlantis Avenue. As Tanya goes up the stairs, The Protagonist knocks her out cold, and then sets on rescuing Gat. You will have to deal with Green's protection before taking the man out himself. He wields an AS12 Riot Shotgun, a dangerous weapon in the game, so be careful as you take him out. After untying Gat, he tells The Protagonist that Green has a weapons stash that they may want to make use of. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Atlantis Avenue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK10. "3rd Street Vice Kings" ****************************** The Protagonist stands off-screen for the most part, as Dex and Gat argue about how they will be able to put pressure on the relationship between King and Chief Monroe. He thinks that more violence is the solution, but Dex does not, using the casing on his wounded leg as some evidence as to why. Dex tells him of his plan to cause some mayhem and to get them in the public eye - in order to strain a business relationship, they'll be wearing Vice King colors to make it look like the VKs are doing it. Monroe will have no choice but to have his boys in blue come down on King. He hands the pair of them yellow hoodies, and then it's time to go out and become a public menace. First of all, you need to get some Police Notoriety in order to get the media vans out, recording the footage. Head towards Downtown whilst you do this, as your main focus in this mission is on the Downtown, Museum and High End Retail districts. After earning some Notoriety, you have to head to Nob Hill and kill the store clerks - the one in Impressions and the other in Do It Up. Once that is done, steal a police cruiser if your car isn't fast, or you lost it, and line up on the grass ramp in Downtown. Hit it straight and fast to destroy the bowling pin monument. Your final call is to then steal a Bulldozer in the Museum District and then knock down the statue of Alderman Hughes. That will be enough to fill up the Footage Meter completely. The mission then cuts to King, getting pressure from Hughes on what has just happened. Warren then quizzes him on why the gang is associating with City Hall, pulling out his GDHC .50 in an attempt to display what actual, physical power can be earned on the streets. After that facade, King orders him out of the office. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Nob Hill ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK11. Stronghold - "King's Grocery" ************************************ Julius informs The Protagonist of this Grocery Store near Huntersfield. There has been a lot of sightings of Vice Kings going in and out of the derelict store, and he suspects that there is something valuable there. He wants The Protagonist to take out anyone in his way in order to find out what they are doing. The only entrance is the loading bay door open at the back, and between that and you lie quite a few Vice Kings. Stay from a distance, and pick off the VKs as you head inside. You will then have to kill 12 defending Vice Kings to finish off the stronghold. It turns out that the Vice Kings have been using this place as an armory - which is a good find for the Saints. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Huntersfield ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK12. "Round Peg, Square Hole" ******************************* Dex has a map laid out on Johnny's car, and explains The Protagonist that the Vice Kings' relationship with Monroe and the Stilwater PD was only formed because the Chief is in on the profit made from their protection rackets. Dex wants to go public with it, but as Johnny lays a box filled with RPGs over the map, they go along with a different plan. You are riding shotgun, and you need to use the RPGs in order to break up all the meetings that are being held around town with the SPD and the Vice Kings, and then you can call success on another breakdown in relations. You also have unlimited ammunition for all your guns, so you may want to use your Pistol or machine gun for this. Unless you are a careful and timed shot, I don't advise on the use of the RPG. You have to make sure you get to the meetings, taking down at least one Vice King or cop, and then fend off attacks from both factions as you go about disbanding others. Watch out for the Gat's Car Damage Meter - you obviously want to keep it filled by keeping everyone off of your back. The first meeting is at the precinct in Downtown. Kill one of them, and as you pull away, quickly switch to the RPG and destroy any survivors that give chase to you. The second meeting is at a gas station, so just before you pull in, shoot the tanks to take care of them here. The third meeting is near City Hall so take care of them and any survivors. The fourth meeting is near Kingdom Come Records, so take these guys down. The fifth and final meeting is in Union Square, and you want to take these guys out quickly, as one of them has an RPG Launcher himself. Your Notoriety will now stand at Police Level 3, and Vice Kings (Gang) Level 4. You will have to protect Gat as he heads to Forgive and Forget in Humbolt Park. Two cutscenes play out - one where Gat blows up the car outside the Vice Kings construction site, now putting it beyond repair, and another in King's board- room, where he is surprised by what Monroe tells him regarding the meetings they have had, which obviously didn't end too well for both sides. He agrees to settle it in a civil manner, and then Warren and Tanya come in, angry by King's relaxed attitude towards the Stilwater PD and City Hall; but especially the Saints. Warren rants how a laidback attitude has cost them potential power in the city, and then he gets literally put down by Warren, given a lesson in running a gang in the process. Tanya then brings the boys in - the Vice Kings are about to overthrow the man who earned them their place in the city, under Warren's orders. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Humbolt Park ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK13. "For King and Country" ***************************** The Protagonist arrives in the church, only to find a note left by Johnny, out with Aisha, and tells him to take the day off. Julius soon puts a halt to that as he comes in, looking for Gat as well. He explains what has happened with King - he got out of the building, suffering a bullet wound, and now he's pinned down by his own men in Amberbrook. Julius explains that they grew up in Sunnyvale Gardens together, hinting at his involvement within the Vice Kings back when they were formed, and that the Saints can't let him die. It's The Protagonist's responsibility to get King safely to Julius. You have to get to King before his Health Bar runs out. Upon arriving, you will have to deal with a number of Vice Kings attacking him, but make your way to the steps up to the center of the courtyards, and then take King to his car. He will then want to go after Warren, so get to him and drive-by his car until it goes up in flames. The vehicle will not explode, so just leave it and get King back to the church. Upon arriving, you will get a cutscene showing Warren trying to get out of the burning wreckage. Tanya is stood over him, and eventually shoots him, leaving her in charge of the Vice Kings - potentially the plan all along. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Amberbrook ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK14. Stronghold - "Waterfront Rooftop" **************************************** Julius rings The Protagonist near an apartment in Rebadeaux. Some of the Vice Kings are using this place as a hideout, so The Protagonist needs to clear it out and then put the Vice Kings out of the South Island in terms of territory control. Head through the front entrance, and fight your way up the steps and through the apartment, before heading onto the fire escape and taking out everyone on here too. You will then have to hold your position and use the RPG Launcher nearby to destroy at least five patrols to complete the stronghold. You will have to be a good shot, as you will only have around 7-10 patrols pass by. If you miss too many, the stronghold is failed. When you have destroyed five of them, you can call this Stronghold complete. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Rebadeaux ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK15. "The King and I" *********************** Julius and Ben King are reunited in front of Johnny and The Protagonist, apologies handed out to Anthony Green's murder. King wants to kill Tanya and then get back to his crew - but Julius gives him two choices; he can drop his flags, or he could have his brains blown out right there and then. He doesn't want to walk away, at least not until Tanya has been dealt with. King knows that the Vice Kings will have to be eradicated, and he knows how to. He and The Protagonist have a job to do. The plan is to go to three of the Vice Kings' hideouts, piss them off, and lure them to a trap set up by the cops. You cannot get out of range of them, meaning you must stick close by. You also cannot kill them yourself, so you may want to swap vehicles each time to prevent ending up in a fireball. When you've got all three sets of Vice King crews killed, the mission is complete, and King is a happier man. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Brighton ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VK16. "All The King's Men" *************************** The Protagonist meets up with Johnny Gat again, discussing the Vice Kings. To their luck, Tanya's takeover didn't last long, as the Vice Kings are left fighting each other and the gang just about on its last legs. All it will take now is for Tanya's death, and that will be the end of things. Gat is worried, however, that King is about to pussy out against his old crew, but he is reassured by the man himself that he will do this without question. The first call is to get a keycode for the elevator to Tanya's penthouse suite and King suggests her fashion designer, Stefan, who runs Impressions in Nob Hill. Take King's car, and head over there. King will have him out of the car window, dangling by his ankles. You have two meters for Stefan - his Fear and his Health. You will have to tackle the cops as you drive fast and get the keycode from him. Upon earning full Fear, he gives up the code as 3-1-3-1. It is time to head over to King's Penthouse and finish this. You have to fight off all the gun-wielding, psychopathic hookers that are stopping you from getting to Tanya. Be careful on the top level, as they are bastards for jumping out and attacking you. When you get to her office, the final cutscene ensues, as she is shot multiple times, and left dangling a number of stories high. King stomps on her fingers, releasing her grip and makes her fall to her death in dramatic fashion. King then gives The Protagonist the keys to his car and the Penthouse as a reward. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Adept Way King's Penthouse can be used as a Crib King's Mag in your Garage Vice Kings Gang Vehicles in your Garage The "Regicide" Achievement, worth 40G. And that caps off the Vice Kings. Enjoy your rewards. ****************************************************************************** 12. The Westside Rollerz The Saints, amongst the other gangs, don't exactly know much about this gang, or how they came to be. The Rollerz are presumably boy (and girl) racers from the Suburbs, raised from a wealthy background, or that wealthy enough to buy and modify their supercharged racing vehicles. They specialise in racing, mostly, and everything involving cars - hijacking and selling parts off of the vehicles they steal. It still doesn't explain, though, how the Westside Rollerz have gone from an underground racing syndicate to a weak, yet fully- fledged gang. Lin, the Saints Lieutenant and street racer that grew up in Chinatown, presumably, is in charge on unearthing the organization and then taking it down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 12A. Key Members ***************** The leadership and foundations are shady at first, but information is revealed on the organization of the gang. Joseph Price - Leader The biggest petrol-head, and meat-head, you'll ever witness in this game. You cannot let past, though, the skill he has in handling tuners, but he mainly uses his supercharged Attrazione exotic sports car. He can be seen as clever, but mainly acts slightly like an imbecile. William Sharp - Investor Sharp is Joseph Price's uncle, who runs his own law firm that makes the money that keeps the Westside Rollerz up and running. He exploits his nephew's gang in order to run an illicit auto-parts trade, which may make him profit and cut any losses he makes being a trust fund to Price. He is the brains of the operation, constantly giving advice and even orders to his nephew on how to handle his gang and their affairs. Donnie - Mechanic, Lieutenant Donnie is one of the top mechanics from Stilwater, and is the main man for souping up performance vehicles for the Rollerz. He is a close friend of Joseph's, but Sharp does have a disliking to him, as he and Price show mostly no difference in attitude. He mainly sticks to his trade instead of getting involved with the gang on a higher, more violent level. He will also slowly get emotionally attached to Lin over the course of the storyline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR1. "Stacking the Deck" ************************* Lin is pestered by a couple of Rollerz about the designing of her customized Voxel, and she is far from impressed as the two finally walk off and it is safe for her and The Protagonist to talk. She tells that word is quiet about the Rollerz, but she has heard about a shipment of high-performance tuners that they're having shipped in. Lin wants The Protagonist to jack the truck carrying the vehicles, and take it to Samson, the Saints' local mechanic. They will then have to bide their time for a while before it can go somewhere. The truck and its cargo will be driven along the freeway nearby, only being protected by a lone Roller. Get in front of the cab, making the driver stop, and quickly jack it and high-tail it. You will get some attention from the Rollerz, but this truck will stand up to mostly everything they throw at you. You have to simply drive to the exit ramp of the freeway in Saint's Row, and you're done. Mission Completed! $500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR2. "Samson's Surprise" ************************* You will have to wait for a phone call a few moments after completion of the last Rollerz mission before this becomes available. This also applies to some of the other missions in this storyline. The Protagonist shares a dance with Lin in the nightclub, using it as a way to talk about the Rollerz quietly. Samson has worked his magic, and he has set the cars with bombs that detonate once the engine temperature is high enough. The cars are going to be used by some big-shot Rollerz who are strong racers, and so she wants The Protagonist to race them, and get a good enough lead going into the final strait. Hopefully, this encourages them to use their nitrous, shoot off and end up in a ball of flames. Troy will turn up to drop off the racing tuner you are riding in, but he wants to do this differently. Head to the meeting spot nearby to begin the race. If you have completed the Westside Rollerz variant of the Racing Activity, this may jog your memory of one of the tracks you raced on. The plan is to get your car close enough for Troy to disrespect and taunt the racers, filling the Taunts Meter. Once it is filled, they hit the nitrous and go up in smoke. It doesn't matter if you keep to the circuit, but it is recommended as it makes any move from the racers more predictable with the GPS route marked out. Once you get all three dead, job done and race over. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Chinatown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR3. Stronghold - "Pleasant View Storage" ****************************************** Julius tells The Protagonist over the phone that Lin has found out about a storage complex that the Rollerz are using to store their high-performance vehicles. Julius wants the cars up in flames and off the streets for good. There are eight vehicles to destroy with the Grenades provided if you want to use them. Six of them will remain stationery inside of the garages, whilst two get driven by lunatics around the complex. You will also have some Rollerz on foot trying to kick you out. Deal with the six cars inside the garages, and then concentrate on doing damage to the other two. They follow a set route repeatedly, that never changes once they're in it. Plot the best point where they drive down the longest, and pelt them with an RPG or shoot the hell out of it. If you're a confident and lucky shot, wait in front of them and quickly pop the driver, bearing in mind the risk of getting run over. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Pleasant View ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR4. "Guardian Angel" ********************** The Protagonist and Lin are sat in Mr. Wong's Tea Shop, maybe an old haunt of hers, as they yet again discuss business. She now knows the name of the leader of the Westside Rollerz - Joseph Price. He has a strong friendship in one of Stilwater's top mechanics, Donnie, who owns a garage in Sommerset. If she wants to gain trust with the big boys, she'll need to use her imagination. She has it figured out - The Protagonist must storm the garage, threatening to kill him, and then she comes in and saves the day. If that doesn't work, then nothing will. Head to his garage, and clear out all of the Rollerz protecting Donnie, and watching out not to harm him. The cutscene plays as everything goes well, and now all that is left is to chase Lin and Donnie to the Suburbs, and then lose them. If you're a decent shooter and driver, nothing is as easy as this mission. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Sommerset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR5. "Escort Service" ********************** You will, once again, have to wait for a phone call after completing the last mission for this one to become available. In this conversation, Lin tells The Protagonist that she's got the opportunity to meet with Price, and she wants him to hang around there and see what they have to say. Upon arriving, The Protagonist stands out of eyeshot as Donnie arrives to meet Price, glad to see him after he was attacked. This also introduces William Sharp, Price's uncle, and the man funding the Rollerz. Lin introduces herself, and then insults are traded, ending up with Sharp getting a slap from Lin. He soon leaves, leaving Lin with Donnie and an unimpressed, maybe grumpy Uncle Sharp. Donnie begins to chat about a shipment they are meant to be robbing, blissfully unaware of Lin's presence. Sharp gives a few hints that it is not the situation to be discussing it in, and he says no more. Enough has been said, however. Coincidentally, today happens to be the day a shipment of car parts is coming in, and you will have to get to the convoys in the allotted time before the Rollerz get there first. If they do, extra damage is dealt on them. Upon arrival of the first and second, you won't get any Rollerz attacking you for around 10 seconds, and then it's only light attacking. As you approach the final one in Sommerset, you end getting there late anyway, so take out all the Rollerz surrounding the truck before they wreck it. In the cutscene, it is a simple explanation from Price to Sharp that all did not go to plan. Lin informs them that the 3rd Street Saints are the "mysterious" crew that had taken them out. He nearly lets slip to Lin about their contacts, and then she agrees to help them recover the parts they were going to take. Mission Completed! $1,500 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR6. "One Step Ahead" ********************** Sharp and Price begin to discuss the subject of Donnie and his value to the gang. Price tells him that Donnie's his friend, and he might be an amateur gangster, but he can get through anything when he needs to. The man himself comes back in with Lin, telling them all of his master plan. He and Lin have found the vehicles that they can take and then strip down to sell the parts they need for the buyers. Price likes the plan, and gets his men together to get the cars. Sharp is still unimpressed by their efforts, and Lin ends up getting into an argument with him before she leaves with Donnie. You will get a call, informing The Protagonist of the Rollerz's plans, and you have to stop them taking the cars by destroying them. This is another simple mission, if you don't have a problem fighting off the Rollerz whilst you're at it. You only have to stop them; but destroying them is the most effective way. After you destroy four vehicles in total, you get a final cutscene. Price gets a call from Donnie, informing him that plans have gone sour, and they won't be able to salvage those parts. Sharp then gets clever - only four people knew of their plans, and neither uncle nor nephew sold out their own gang, and Donnie is too loyal to betray Price. That leaves Lin as a mole in their organization. Her cover has been blown. Sharp is going to call the shots on how to deal with her. Mission Completed! $2,000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR7. Stronghold - "Tidal Spring Apartments" ******************************************** Julius informs The Protagonist of the current inhabitants of the apartment complex in this part of the Suburbs. Some of the Rollerz have an upcoming court case, so in an attempt to get them off the hook, Sharp bribed the jury with free money, and free girls. Julius wants the members taken out so they won't get off scot-free. You will be dealing with the Westside Rollerz in this stronghold, as well as a Police Notoriety of Level 5, but if you stay off the ground, it can be disregarded. There are a total of five jurors to take out, on each side of the complex. You will encounter light resistance in the actual room from the juror but killing the Rollerz outside is the only thing you should consider hard. Upon killing of all five jurors, you won't have to worry about Notoriety. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Tidal Spring ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR8. "Liberation" ****************** The Protagonist sits in the church, Julius proud of him for the work he's been doing with Lin against the Rollerz. He then gets a call from her, and is told to get to the pool hall near the Ultor Dome, where she tells that the Rollerz into "something big". Blissfully unaware of this, Sharp is holding the phone to her face, as she is tied up in the backroom. It's clearly a trap, but The Protagonist won't know much about it. Head to the pool hall, and kill all of the Westside Rollerz on the ground and upper floors. Get to the backroom, and The Protagonist will try to untie Lin, but gets a blow to the back of the head, and another to knock him clean. This is a mission that leads straight onto another, so you get the rewards inter- face, and then the cutscene for the next mission. Mission Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Ultor Dome ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR9. "Burying Evidence" ************************ The game resumes at night, with The Protagonist in the trunk of the car with Lin. Sharp stands behind her car, the one they are in the trunk in. Donnie arrives, asking why he was brought her. He is then shown Lin and The Protagonist, and proceeds to shoot the two. Donnie is upset by this, calling Lin his girl, and when offered to help him push the car into the water, he drives off. He eventually has it in the water, and only The Protagonist gets out of it for sure. Swim to shore, get in a vehicle, and hunt down the vehicle that Sharp is being driven around in. You need to focus on damaging his vehicle and killing him, and that is essentially the end of this two-parter. Mission Completed! $3,000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR10. Stronghold - "Copperton Receiving Station" ************************************************* Julius calls up The Protagonist at this truck receiving station, which has come into the interest of the Rollerz. He needs to find out why the station is significant to them. You have to kill all the Rollerz that come after you and hold the station down for three minutes. During this time, your Notoriety steadily increases up to Level 4. Upon holding it down successfully, a Peterliner will try and chase you down. It will come at you head-on, so try and take it out with an RPG or by killing the driver - whichever you can do, or suits you. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Copperton ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR11. "No Time To Mourn" ************************* Julius is outside in the cemetery with The Protagonist, and informs him of bad news - Lin's body was found floating down the river and was reported on the local news. He tells The Protagonist that they are going to take the Rollerz out of Stilwater, now that blood has been traded (Sharp's murder), but Troy puts a stop to that plan. He's been informed that a load of Rollerz are being rounded up, possibly to attack the Row. It'll cut away to Price at his mansion and him rallying his boys and defending their honor after the Saints messed up their attacks and deliveries, and not to mention his uncle, and so leads the battle into Saint's Row. Drive Julius to the entrance to the freeway in the Arena district. From there, you're riding shotgun and taking out the Rollerz racing down this highway. You have to take them out before they reach the Row. You have to destroy all nine Rollerz vehicles, and then it cuts to the chasing down of Price. He slams the brakes, knocking The Protagonist out of the car, and then speeding off. Julius assures him that the fight is far from over. Mission Passed! $4,000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR12. Stronghold - "Price's Mansion" ************************************* Julius calls The Protagonist outside Price's Mansion. He needs to make sure that Price and his boys will not be able to try and attack Saint's Row again, and so orders that he take the keys to Price's sports car, steal it and lose the heat in order to put Price out of his sweet ride. Head up the steps and into the mansion, killing every Roller you see as you claim the keycard. They will be everywhere, so make sure you take every last one of the bastards down. Upon getting the keys, head out to the garage, again watching for enemies, and then get into his car and lose the Notoriety gained at the local Forgive and Forget. Stronghold Completed! Neighborhood Gained - Misty Lane Price's Attrazione in your Garage Note that even though this is the final neighborhood you take from the Rollerz the Achievement will not pop up. That's because you will need to wait for a phone call from Price, opening the final Rollerz mission at the nearby Foreign Power. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WR13. "Semi-Charmed Life" ************************** The Protagonist waits for Price to get here for their final showdown - instead he nearly gets mowed down by his semi-truck. You need to give chase and finish this once and for all. You have to get to Price in two minutes, and you will need a car will full health to challenge him - he will toss pipe bombs that will easily take you out if you slow down, and there's his back-up to contend with. Destroy the vehicles he has hitched onto his truck to cause damage, and when his back-up arrives, kill them. They are most likely the ones to set your vehicle on fire or kill you. When all the cars on his trailer are destroyed, spray his cab and he's a dead man. The Protagonist gets called by Julius as he examines the wreckage, swiping the keys to Price's mansion. He tells that the Rollerz are finished, but still thinks that there's something going on regarding the Rollerz's contacts for the car parts. It's nothing to worry about, though. Mission Completed! $5,000 Price's Mansion as a Crib Julius' Zenith in your Garage Westside Rollerz Gang Cars in your Garage The "Road Warrior" Achievement, worth 40G If you have followed the guide all the way through, you should get the "Ruler of Stilwater" Achievement for defeating all three gangs, worth a massive 160G. Also, if you do not save after this mission, head to the small parking lot that is east of the Hijacking Activity in Copperton. You should find Price's truck, or the Goliath, the actual name of it. It will only appear here if you DO NOT SAVE after the mission before looking for it. A neat bonus car that could make a good addition to your garage. If it is not there first time, go around the block and back again and it should spawn. It has the same spawning behavior as the Nightingale. ****************************************************************************** 13. The Epilogue What, you thought this was over? Not yet, as there's still a few things to clear up first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 13A. "Battlefield Promotion" ***************************** This is a cutscene that plays after conquering all 36 neighborhoods and defeating all three gangs. The Protagonist gets dialled by Julius in the church, and confirms the Saints position in Stilwater - top dogs, and no more problems for the time being. Clips play over, such as Johnny and Aisha, Troy drinking in a bar, Luz Avalos and Manuel Orejuela, Dex, and in the mainframe, Julius riding around in his vehicle. He also discusses what has happened, such as Lin's death (shown by Donnie mourning for her) and Johnny's leg. It also shows Kings as he plans to leave town. Julius soon gets to the point - from now on, The Protagonist is his No. 2, and he has his own crew and position to live up to. Julius then gets pulled over, and The Protagonist gets to grips with being in charge. Credits will roll, but still doesn't spell an end to things. There are three missions left to do, and they will not use up Respect, either. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 13B. "Stuffing the Ballot" *************************** This begins with a call from Chief Monroe, and you have to start moving almost immediately. He tells The Protagonist that he has had Julius arrested, and refers to the events in "Round Peg, Square Hole", and even threatens to "turn Saint's Row into a parking lot". Cutting the crap, Monroe is running in the mayoral elections, and the current mayor, Marshal Winslow, is on his campaign bus. He wants The Protagonist to take the bus with Winslow on it, and park it on the train tracks. You have 3 minutes and 45 seconds to do as he says, or Julius is killed. If The Protagonist does a good job, maybe he'll consider Julius' release. The mayor will obviously be protected, but focus on taking out the bus driver and causing enough damage to it to make it stop. Once that is done, you can get to the tracks in Poseidon Alley, and run clear as the train rams straight through it. Mission Completed! $3,000 Note that will Julius in jail and Troy out of the picture, that makes you leader of the Saints. El jefe (the boss). That should be nice to note. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 13C. "Hail To The Chief" ************************* As The Protagonist wanders into the church, Dex and Gat, the only two Lieutenants left, question whether he heard back from Chief Monroe. At that moment, he calls, telling the trio that "a little more community service" is required to have Julius released. Even Dex doesn't agree with being the errand boys to Monroe, as with Gat and The Protagonist. Johnny wants to blow up City Hall, but would only worsen the situation. But they do have an idea - the mayor's funeral is tonight, and it would be unusual if the Chief of Police didn't show up to the precession. The plan is to kill Monroe at the precession in order to get revenge. Head to Nob Hill, where Gat will be stationed across the street. You are told to take out the guy in the cop car or FBI car - the only problem is that there are a number of them. Take them all out in order to make sure that the Chief is killed, and then make it to the Forgive and Forget before you do anything else. When you get rid of your maximum Notoriety with the cops, the mission is completed. Mission Completed! $5,000 Save and head to Alderman Hughes' boat... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 13D. "Saints and Martyrs" ************************** Contrary to popular belief, this mission is not called "Salting the Earth", as that is merely the name of the cutscene. The actual name derives from the searches you can perform on game files, and is apparently coded "Saints and Martyrs". The Protagonist meets with Alderman Richard Hughes, the mayor by default with the Saints' public assassinations of Chief Monroe and Mayor Winslow. He has brought The Protagonist on his yacht for one reason alone - to tell him that his gang are finished with. Over this, you see Gat and Aisha in bed, King hanging around the Row, Luz looking over the waterfront, Troy holding his police badge (turns out he was a cop), and surprisingly Julius, who looks at his watch and walks away. During their dialogue, the Alderman tells The Protagonist that he is to destroy a "hotbed of criminal activity" by kicking the Saints out of their own district and reforming it. He then tells that The Protagonist will die aboard this boat, and so he may do, when it goes up in flames. The credits roll, during which, Jane Valderamma runs a breaking news report with Jack Armstrong regarding the explosion. "Hurry, Hurry" and "Saint's Row", the games own custom tracks, play over. You are then brought to the main screen to either reload or begin a new game. Your progress before saving and starting "Saints and Martyrs" will not be saved, so you may be screwed if you didn't save beforehand. Anyway, that's how the game ends. Hope you liked it. ****************************************************************************** 14. Achievement Guide Seeing as this is on the Xbox 360, we may as well go for all the Achievements. They are grouped in order as they appear on the game's span of Achievements. There are 43 Achievements, adding up to the full 1000G. Not all Achievement descriptions are word-for-word, simply because it needs to be made a bit more clearer and understandable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 14A. You may want to beat all variants of the Hijacking Activity to unlock the Titan special variant vehicle, as when destroyed, it will give you money that is spewed out of the back. You may want to have unlocked the Platinum RPGs to assist you, meaning Hitman and Hijacking will need completing. You will get, at least, $5,000 from each van. Keep on repairing and destroying it, and you should be fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. This is much harder than the Offline version of this Achievement, as money can take some time to accumulate. In onlines, you get money rewards: -- Complete a game: $15 -- Won the game: $30 -- Five Killstreak: $15 -- Ten Killstreak: $30 -- No deaths: $20 If you get lucky, you are a natural, or some of your friends "boost" towards this, you will only get a little over $100. Be patient to get this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 37. Bulletproof (10G) Complete the Co-Op mission "Turbulence" at the highest difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head into the "Xbox Live" section of the Main Menu, and then "Create Party" so you can organize it with your friends. Select "Co-Op", and then "Turbulence", and then set the difficulty to "Kingpin". You have to get out of the Airport whilst fending off a Stilwater PD ambush. You have 4 lives each, and you may want to try this at a lower difficulty beforehand and to get used to the mission. Stick in cover and try not to be stupid and rush in, as you health will only regenerate very slowly. You may also need to get paired up with a good Saints Row gamer, or at least someone who knows what they're doing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 38. Errand Boy (10G) Complete the Co-Op mission "Mob Rule" at the highest difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the same deal as the Achievement "Bulletproof", except you are playing through the Co-Op mission "Mob Rule". You have to deliver two boxes to a safe zone whilst fending off a Level 3 Notoriety with the Vice Kings. One of you will have to protect the other as they carry the box, so the same applies from "Turbulence". You have the same amount of lives, and you want to be careful when finding enemies. Keep looking at your radar to figure out when and where you're likely to be attacked. Upon delivery of the second box, the mission will be completed. And again, you may want to work up to this by working up to a higher difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 39. Chain Gang (20G) Drop off a total of 500 chains in the "Big Ass Chains" game mode. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You have to drop off chains in this multiplayer mode in order to earn points. You have to either do this in solo or team mode - you must drop off 500 in ONE of the games, not as a combination of the two. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 41. Pimp Killer (20G) Kill the Pimp 50 times in the "Protect tha Pimp" multiplayer mode. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In this game, one team is the defense to the player who has been selected as the Pimp, whilst the other side attempts to kill the Pimp. You may end up on either the same side as the Pimp, or become it yourself, and even then you may not get the last shot on him. This may take a while. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 42. Clocktower Camper (20G) Score 100 headshots on your enemies in a ranked match. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You will obviously need a McManus and a ledge or a good vantage point to prey on your enemies. You will need some practice in getting the headshots, or you could "boost" again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 43. Xzibitionist (20G) Get your team vehicle to Level 4 a number of 50 times in the "Blinged Out Ride" multiplayer mode. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In that minigame, you need to be the first to reach Level 4 in order to win the match. You need to be in the vehicle as it reaches Level 4, 50 times, for it to count. You earn money to upgrade it by killing the other team and trying not to get killed. ****************************************************************************** 15.
