This can be changed to be non-automatic in the options (instead you hit A when prompted on your HUD). Tank Controls - Can be switched between Basic, Free and Advanced. Free and Advanced seperate movement and aiming, Advanced automatically realigns the turret. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Campaign Walkthrough*** [LVL00] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This walkthrough was created while playing on HARD (3 stars), for the purposes of generally being more useful, as well as to cover the achievement "Battle-Hardened". The game isn't that tough on Hard, except for a few segments here and there - most noticeably, the boss battles. Once you get used to the general gameplay mechanics, you should have no real trouble for the most part. Note: If you want to find a specific part of a level quickly, you can also use Ctrl + F and type in your current objective, preceded with "Objective:". Trying searching for "Objective: Go to Reyes" as an example. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 1: Answers*** [LVL01] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * With the Arm of Orion's leadership either deap or captured, * * Section 8 receives reinforcements at their new base on Atlas. * * Corde and First Recon put the new recruits through the paces. * ***************************************************************** After the opening cutscenes, you take control at Ft. Solomon, and are tasked with bringing the new recruits up to snuff. You're facing the firing range when you start. ~ Objective: Go to Reyes ~ Move just a few feet ahead to Reyes and he'll begin to talk to the recruits. You'll then have to demonstrate some firing techniques for them - of course, for us it's actually learning as well! Using RT to shoot and take out the first 5 targets. You'll get a prompt asking if you change to inverted aim. Press A to stay with current vertical aiming or press B to toggle to inverted. Now for distance targets. Use LT for ocular zoom, and take them out. Easy. Next up is Lock-On, activated by pressing down on the Right Stick when the circle appears over the target. Use it take down the moving target. Remember to pay your taxes, folks. You'll notice that the recharge meter for Lock-On appears to the left of your ammo on the HUD. You'll be told to hit Y to change to your secondary weapon, so do so. The Pistol can be a surprisingly good weapon, if you take your time to aim. Take down the 3 targets. Reyes will then talk about Overdrive, then tell you to use it to head across the way to Graves. ~ Objective: Demonstrate Overdrive ~ Click down on the Left Click to begin sprinting. After a few moments, you will automatically engage Overdrive mode. Make note of the bar in the top right of your HUD, it shows how long you can Overdrive for before running out, and when it has refilled automatically. You'll get another prompt, this time to choose between Automatic or Manual Overdrive. Manual Overdrive must be activated by pressing A when prompted (you still have to sprint for a few moments). ~ Objective: Go to Graves ~ Again, just move a few feet up to your target. He wants you to grab Frag Grenades and a Repair Tool from the Supply Depot nearby. ~ Objective: Get Repair Tool and Grenades ~ Supply Depots allow you to change your loadout, including weapons, equipment and upgrades. You don't have much unlocked right now (single player has it's own unlock system that's simply tied to the level you're on), but feel free to toy around with your upgrades if you want. Leaving them as is might be a good idea though. Swap up your Serrated Knife for a Repair Tool - Press A on the knife, select Tools then Repair Tool. Press B to exit. Graves will task you with taking out a turret behind the wall near you, using only your grenades. ~ Objective: Use Grenades on Turret. ~ Make sure you have your grenades select (Left on the D-pad for Equipment 1 and Right for Equipment 2). Go either left or right around the barrier, then chuck some grenades at the turret using RB. Obviously don't stay in the open for too long. You can hold RB to see the trajectory of grenades and some other equipment types. If you run out of grenades, stand near the Supply Depot and it will automatically refill your ammo reserves (as well as your armour). Once the turret is destroyed, you'll then be told to hack the Control Point nearby. ~ Objective: Hack CP ~ Move past the destroyed turret to the newly revealed Control Point. Hit A near it to start hacking. You must stand near the CP for a few seconds before it is hacked. When this is done, you then must wait for a virus to override it - you can watch it's progress by looking at the CP's icon on either your HUD or mini-map - once the blue fills up the square, it's yours. Once it's yours, any nearby buildings tied to the CP are also yours. For example, the turret you just blew up! So now you have to go back and fix it, of course. ~ Objective: Repair Minigun Turret ~ Switch to your Repair Tool using the D-Pad. Go near the turret and hold RB, and your Repair Tool's beam will automatically lock-on to it and start repairing. As Graves mentiones, Repair Tools can fix armour, deployables, and even yourself if no target is in range. ~ Objective: Go to Blackburn ~ That's it for this area. Leave from where you came in, then sprint to the left up the sandy hill. Turn right and go meet Blackburn. Now you have to show the recruits how to do an orbital drop. ~ Objective: Enter Dropship ~ Simply walk up the ramp and Press A on the dropship to enter. You'll get a small cutscene as it lifts off. Right after you'll be launched from the bottom of it, and will start hurtling towards the ground. You'll notice a bar on the right with 3 colours. White means you're up high and can't brake yet. Orange is where you can start braking for a soft landing. Red is where you brake for a hard landing (you can also not brake at all for the same effect. Brake in the orange. After this you are able to move through the air to aim your landing using the Left and Right Sticks. The small dot on your screen shows where exactly you'll land. Aim for the landing pads, naturally. Once you recover, you'll next have to head for the live-fire course. ~ Objective: Go to Matthews ~ Sprint ahead past Blackburn, then turn a bit to the right to meet Matthews. He tells you about the live-fire course, and how you'll need your Jetpack to complete. So thankfully they activate yours for use. ~ Objective: Demonstrate Jetpack ~ Press LB to jump, then hold LB to jetpack. You can also just hold LB but you'll get slightly less height. You can move around with the Left Stick. Like Overdrive, there is a bar in the top right showing you how long you can jetpack and when it's refilled. ~ Objective: Use Console ~ Once you've landed, press A on the console to begin the obstacle course. ~ Obejctive: Run Obstacle Course ~ Go to Platform 1 Use your jetpack to get over the first wall. Land and you'll be in a small maze of walls that pop up. Head left at the first pop-up, then right at the next. Start sprinting forward and a very small ledge will pop up, you can just jump over it. You should be in overdrive now. Sprint forward across the platforms - you're going fast enough that you don't have to jump over the small gaps, but you can if you like. ~ Objective: Run Obstacle Course ~ Shoot Target Set Now right in front of you, some target will appear. Make sure you have your Assault Rifle equipped. Hit all the targets as quick as you can. ~ Objective: Run Obstacle Course ~ Go to Platform 2 Turn to your left and start sprinting. Make sure to jump over the medium sized gap at the end and land on the platform. ~ Objective: Run Obstacle Course ~ Shoot Target Set 2 Another target set for you to shoot. This one has 4 targets, 1 of them moving. So quickly shoot the stationary ones, then use your Lock-On for the one above them. When you're done, turn left and start sprinting. As suggested, overdrive then use your jetpack so you can clear the large gap. Finally, you're in a live minefield. You can see the mine's lights on the ground but they're still tricky to avoid. Try to simply use your jetpack ASAP to fly over all of them to get to the end of the course. You'll receive your course time when you reach Matthews. General Stone will contact you and tells you to come to the brig. ~ Objective: Report to General Stone ~ Move past Matthews and turn left, then sprint up the sandy slope. Turn slightly at the top and aim for the huge gate in front of you. The gate will open for you, then you'll have to wait for a few seconds while inside. Once the next door opens, follow the road to find Stone near the prisoner convoy. Stone wants you to do a visual of the perimeter, starting with the watchtowers. ~ Objective: Investigate Sentry Tower ~ Turn left from Stone, and start heading down the road towards your objective. You'll head inside another gate, and have to wait a few seconds. Keep following the road, and you'll see small slope on the left towards the tower. Before going this way, turn to your right instead. You'll see a building hear, either jetpack up inside it or take the stairs. You'll find a Data Log - these are non-essential items you can find throughout the game that give you a bit of extra info. - Data Log: 1 of 10 Found - Once you've got it, turn back towards the slope mentioned above and go up it, then keep following the path towards your objective. When you reach the elevator you'll get a cutscene. ~ Objective: Defeat invaders 0/8 ~ Jailbreak! Enemies will drop into the area in front of you. Fortunately you've got some backup with you. Head forward and use your Assault Rifle to take them out, feel free to use Lock-On for moving targets and Grenades for anyone close or in cover. After the first 3 enemies, turn to your right around the corner to find the next 2. The last 3 will drop back near the road, on the building across it. Stay longe range and pick them off with your rifle. ~ Objective: Stop Jailbreak ~ Before you leave you can go to a nearby Supply depot and change your loadout a bit if you want. When you're ready, head towards the big gate you came from. You'll once again have to wait a second. when they open, it seems the battle has already begun. Move up but stay behind some cover as enemies will be shooting as you from down the road. One is a Sniper, so watch out. Should be 3 of them there, take them out then start moving up the road again. As you sprint up you'll see Thorne's ship leaving. There are some enemies near you, but you can ignore them if you want as they're occupied fighting others. ~ Objective: Converge on General Stone ~ Move past where the ship was, through the gate and up the stairs to Stone. Stay near Stone because enemies will keep shooting at you from behind. Use cover and take at least most of them out before leaving. ~ Objective: Defend Dropships ~ Head out of this gated area and turn right towards the big gate. Another small wait. When they open 2 enemies will immediately fire in your direction, but now Matthews is here to help out. Move left behind the crashed ship to avoid their fire, and pop out and kill them. Move up with Matthews and engage enemies long-range, remember you can jetpack away or use your Repair Tool if you still have it to heal your armour. Go towards your objective, just in time to see it get blown up. Of course! 3 more enemies will be on your left now, you should have the high ground so it will be no trouble picking them off. Move up but not too far, 2 more enemies show up from up the road. When they're done, sprint towards your objective and you'll get a cutscene. Close call huh? Move to the left around the ship and head forward. More enemies will be up closer to the final dropship. Take them all out, using the varied terrain to your advantage. Now you have to actually do some defending, killing the enemies as they attack you and the ship. Certain enemies - "Demolishers" - will use Missile Launchers to damage the ship, so make them your priority. This part is a little tough on Hard. Just try to shoot at enemies ASAP as they come. You can also camp right beside the nearby Supply Depot as it will help keep you alive, and heal you faster so you can get back in the fight. After you take down a few waves, the dropship is secure. You'll get a cutscene and will have finished the level. ================================================== = Achievement Unlocked: = = Basic Training (5G) = = Complete the Answers level of the Campaign = ================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 2: Into the Breach*** [LVL02] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * Following the jailbreak on Atlas, Corde and Matthews pursue * * Arm Commander Thorne to a remote arctic planet. Arriving * * ahead of the main fleet, Corde and Matthews prepare to recon * * the planet. * ***************************************************************** You'll beging with an orbital drop into a snow-covered area. You're forced to not brake, because after you land you see Matthews ahead take down an enemy with a fatality. ~ Objective: Follow Matthews ~ Move up just a bit with Matthews. An enemy starts coming down the way, and Matthews tells you to use your knife to take him out. ~ Knife Sentry ~ Wait on the left behind the rock for the enemy to come down and around it. He'll run right by you and leave his back exposed, run up and hold RB - you can just knife him normally if you want, but you won't get an achievement! ================================================== = Achievement Unlocked: = = Knife to Meet You (5G) = = Fatality an enemy with the knife = ================================================== ~ Objective: Recon Arm Activity ~ Once the stabby stabby animation is done, you'll get a prompt to choose between manual or automatic fatalities. Make your choice then follow Matthews directly up the hill. At the top you'll get a cutscene. ~ Objective: Take Sniping Position ~ Matthews recommends you head to the bunker on the right to cover him as he disables the jammers. Follow the ridge on the right, and carefully cross the fallen tree (or just jetpack over). When you start to turn past the cliff, slow to a walk. There's a lone Infantry with his back to you - sneak up and do a fatality to dispose of him. Now move to the bunker, and carefully go inside to kill the Infantry inside in the exact same way. ~ Objective: Clear Jammers 0/3 ~ Now that you're in position, look out the window to your left towards the first jammer. It's time for some sniping. A simple but effective combo is to shoot the enemy once, then lock-on so you can easily get a second shot as he moves around. Remember to duck and back into the bunker if you're taking too much fire. Also remember you can click on the left stick for a higher level of zoom. Kill all the enemies on the jammer platform. There are also some in front of it, closet to Matthews, so peak around to get them too. Next some enemies will appear directly off the front side of your bunker, closer to the second jammer. Once they're done, Matthews will move up to the jammer array. ~ Objective: Clear Jammers 1/3 ~ When Matthews is done, more enemies will appear from the last spot you killed enemies before. They'll move across and take up the platform to start shooting at you. Same deal as before. Enemies will use more cover here but you can almost always still hit one of their limbs poking out. There will be a pause as Matthews moves up, then more enemies on the right side of the jammer. One of them has a missile launcher, so be careful! Matthews will move up once they're done. ~ Objective: Clear Jammers 2/3 ~ As mentioned, the last jammer predictably has more enemies to kill. A few enemies will show up near your side of the jammer - take note that one of them is an enemy Sniper, who can very quickly kill you. He shows up near what looks like a small generator on the left. Kill him and the others quick. Matthews moves closer, and enemies appear on the far side of the jammer. Just 3 more here and you're good. Matthews goes up to disable the last one. After a brief chat, Stone sends you a Supply Depot near where Matthews is. ~ Objective: Get Missile Launcher ~ Head towards where Matthews is. Before using the Supply Depot, head into the building directly across from the third jammer. Near the back behind some crates is another Data Log. - Data Log: 2 of 10 Found - Go to the Supply Depot. You need to grab a Missile Launcher, which means leaving one of your current weapons behind. While the Sniper is useful this mission, the Assault Rifle is great for all around combat so it's best to stick with it. You can also pick up some Detpacks, of the Crash variety. These aren't long range like your Missile Launcher but they will save time when you're blowing stuff up, so you can grab them if you want. I recommend a Repair Tool for yourself, and keeping your grenades - but as always, it's up to you! As soon as you exit the Supply Depot, Matthews warns you of hostiles coming from up the road ahead of you. Move to the left near some cover and start taking them out with your Assault Rifle. There are 3 enemies, watch out as one might move to flank you on the right. You'll have another brief chat afterward. ~ Objective: Ambush Convoy 0/3 ~ Move up the road the enemies came from. As you turn the corner, you'll spot the 3 convoy vehicles moving away from you together. Pull out your Missile Launcher and aim on the closest one, just keep your aim true and it will be down quick. Make sure to constantly be moving, primarily left and right, to dodge the convoy's missiles it fires back at you. Move past the wreckage of the first and start firing on the second. Remember you can use your jetpack to make up some distance and to dodge fire at the same time. When you destroy the second, move up to the third but be wary of enemies appearing near a bunker to your left and right (the ones on the right don't bother you much though, Matthews tends to preoccupy them). You can usually destroy the convoy first, then turn your attention to them after. While you're doing this, Stone contacts you again. ~ Objective: Hack Security Network ~ Stone is nice enough to send you another Supply Depot, it appears just up the road a bit. Don't run up to it just yet - as you turn the corner, there's a Minigun Turret that will fire upon you. Take it out with your Missile Launcher. Stay back near the corner and take out the enemies in the bunker behind it too. When it's clear, now you can go to the Supply Depot for ammo and to swap weapons if needed. Make note of the enemies near the bunker on the other side of the gate, and kill them from here as well. You may want to grab a Sniper Rifle before moving to the gate, as a Sniper will be in high tower off to the right in the base. You can usually take him out with just your Assault Rifle if you burst fire a bit. Move up to the stairs in front, but don't go all the way up - alarms go up and enemies appear in the area above. Stay near the top of the stairs and pop up to take out each enemy. Some will come close, while there are some off in the distance, in the bunker. More burst fire is recommended. When they're done, move up into the area and you'll see some ships fly overhead. Move with Matthews to the right side, some enemies will show up there soon. Kill them quickly as soon some enemies show up on the opposite side of this area to fire over at you. Use the beams for cover. Keep going with Matthews on the right side, an enemy comes up to you at the top of a small set of stairs. Watch out for fire off to your right from the bunker. Again, burst fire to take him out. Stone will soon drop off another Supply Depot right to the left of where you are at the moment. More enemies will soon show up on the right side past the next set of stairs. And yet another Infantry will start firing from a bunker, this time straight ahead of you. Move closer to the objective carefully, as a few enemies flood out of it as you get close. Do the usual pop up routine with the stairs so you don't die horribly. Remember to use your Repair Tool for your armour to get back into the battle quicker. Go with Matthews to the security network. As always, be wary - an enemy will be inside, to the right behind some crates. When he's toast, move up to hack the network. Another cutscene. When it's done, move outside of the bunker and turn left and around the building. A minigun is visible just a bit head, so pull out your Missile Launcher to make short work of it. ~ Objective: Pursure Commander Thorne ~ Move up and you'll notice an enemy off in the distance on the right side, pick him off. More enemies will be on the right side, a bit closer, hiding behind cover and the bunker. Manouever around to take them down. Finally, move out towards the Supply Depot. Get ammo and change loadouts if needed, then move on through to the canyon. Go around the bends, but not so quick around the last one as enemies will be behind the barriers just up ahead. Take them out, then move up just a bit and start firing upon the enemies on top of and inside the bunker to the left. You'll come to a bridge that is quite noticeable broken - thankfully, jetpacks come standard! Fly over the gap. Keep following the objective markers through an open field. Two dropships will take off in the distance. Keep going through the canyon, an enemy will show up near some fallen rocks. Past him is another turret, stay on the left side when you shoot at it since there's a bunker around the corner. Carefully peak around and take them out as well. Move up past this bunker to the marker. You'll be overlooking a large camp now. Listen to Graves' explanation of your next objectives. ~ Objective: Infiltrate and Clear ~ Thorne will alert the shipyard to your presence. Drop down and go to the Supply Depot on the right if needed. Move to the door right in front of you, 3 enemies will soon spill out of it. Just fill 'em with bullets. Before going through this door, you can go for a Data Log if you please (you can also wait til you've cleared out more of the enemies so it's safer to grab. For the Data Log, go left of the door and head down this corridor here. You'll be in a little courtyard, there's some crates and stuff on the left here behind the building. On the far side, behind come crates is the Data Log. - Data Log: 3 of 10 Found - Now go back to the door mentioned above. Go in and there will be more enemies on the right side, close to your objective. Don't move out too far when killing them as enemies will be on the platform above. Enemies may also come from the door you just came through, so keep notice. ~ Objective: Hack Crane Controls ~ Move to the console on the lower level. Some cranes will take out the valves. ~ Objective: Activate Flush Controls ~ No, you're not going to the bathroom - jetpack up top to another console and use it. When that's done, move out the front of the bunker and look to your left. More enemies, behind various cover spots and on catwalks. Keep close to the bunker for cover, move up when there's little or no resistance. ~ Objective: Activate Crane Controls ~ (Again!) Move forward to the entrance of the next bunker, valve area, whatever it's called. As always, don't rush in as enemies are inside. Stay near the entrance and use the cover to your advantage. Might be a good idea to toss some nades or even detpacks to the far side of the area. A few enemies will be up on the catwalks as well. You know the drill ... you do know it, right? Hack crane console, then ... ~ Objective: Activate Flush Controls ~ (Again!) ... hack the flush controls upstairs. When that's done, move the entrance and look near the new Supply Depot - more enemies for you to kill. Stay inside and blast them all. Don't move to the Depot yet, as more enemies are past it and will shoot down on you. ~ Objective: Plant Explosives ~ Make sure all the enemies up the stairs, ahead and to the right, are down then move up the stairs. There may be a lone straggler off to the far right or left. Another enemy will show up in front of you at the top of the stairs. Watch out as they may get smart and jetpack behind you! Use your own jetpack to go up the side of the platform. An enemy or two will be there, or come up the stairs on the other side. When they're all down, go to the marker and plant the explosives. A cutscene will play, signalling the end of the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 3: Deadwood*** [LVL03] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * Section 8's main fleet arrives at the arctic planet as * * Corde and Matthews continue their pursuit of Arm Commander * * Thorne. * ***************************************************************** This level starts right where the last one left off. You're surrounded by the wreckage of the recently blown-up shipyard. Stone will give you some more info. ~ Objective: Pursue Commander Thorne ~ As always, hit the Supply Depot if needed. Don't swap out your Missile Launcher though. Otherwise, head around the hill towards the marker. Approach the door for a small cutscene. Yep, gotta fight two mechs out of the blue! Start moving backwards and shooting at one with your Missile Launcher. One of them should go attack Matthews, making the mech easy to destroy. Once it's done, jetpack away to avoid the fire of the second one. Reload and take him out as well. No problem! ~ Objective: Regroup with 5th ~ Time to move out. Head to the door you TRIED to get past last time ... stupid mechs. Head inside, but don't get too close to the door in front of you as it will soon be blown apart. A USIF soldier is waiting on the other side. Move up and past him down the path. You'll receive a notice that the Machine Gun and Mortar are now available. Both are good weapons, so you might want to grab either. Move down the path and more wreckage falls nearby. Turn left onto the platform. Use the Supply Depot. I personally swapped my Assault Rifle for a Machine Gun, and my grenades for a Crash Mortar. Your teammates will chat a bit about your upcoming plans. ~ Objective: Plant Explosives ~ Head down the path towards your objective, make note of the two turrets on your minimap. As you get close you'll spot the giant AA gun. Stay up on the hill near cover since enemies will be shooting up at you in a moment. Use your Missile Launcher, peek around cover and take out the two turrets. There will be lots of fire so be careful. There's lots of enemies down there, so only take out one at a time before going back to cover. If you aim right and don't reload your machinegun, you'll get an achievement for getting 3 kills in a row without reloading. ================================================== = Achievement Unlocked: = = 'Til it Goes Click (5G) = = Kill 3 enemies in a row with the Machine Gun = = without reloading = ================================================== This is just the first opportunity in Campaign for the achievement, you can always get it later of course. There will be some enemies far off past the AA gun. While it may seem a long distance, if you still have lots of Gyro Stabilizers for accuracy in your loadout (by default, you have some), even your Machine Gun is capable of taking out distance targets. If you're unhappy with the Machine Gun, you can go back now to the Supply Depot. When ready, move up to the right of the bunker out front. An enemy will be on the far side past the AA gun, there will be another over to your right up the ledge, and 2 more right near the gun. You can take out the one far away quickly with burst fire, then jetpack up to the right to get the attention of that enemy. Then just go around the corner and kill the ones by the turret. Matthews will tell you when the area is clear, so head up to your marker to plant the explosives. Quickly run up the hill to your right, away from the AA gun. Turn back to get a good view of the destruction. Small cutscene - Graves has arrived! ~ Objective: Clear Arm Outpost ~ Move with Matthews and Graves to the opposite end of the area, right after the marker there will be a very sharp drop. Fall down and move on through the canyon. You'll soon see a mess of enemies and a turret show up on your minimap, just around the corner. So stay back a bit first. There's a rock perfectly situated at the corner so you can hide behind it and peek out. Now is a good time to test out your mortar if you have it. Like grenades, you can tap RB or hold it to see the trajectory. Just aim on an enemy, tap RB and watch it rain down on them. A good idea is to tag them with a mortar first, then start shooting. As they lose shields, the mortar should do most if not all of the rest of the damage. There's also a Sniper up in a tower to the left, so be careful taking him down. Again, burst fire is your best friend over distance. Move up a bit to the low rock that Graves is behind. Pull out your Missile Launcher and destroy the turret directly ahead (you can also use your mortar). Peek around the corner and start picking off enemies just to the left. You'll still have a lot of targets, but they're past some obstacles so you can't kill them from here. Move up behind the fence, towards the yellow pole on the left. Enemies will soon be coming around the corner, a quick short range attack with your Machine Gun should solve that. Stay near the poles and the enemies will converge next to the large black container right in front. ~ Objective: Purchase Bike ~ When they're all dead, Corde contacts Stone. Now you get to call yourself in a Spectre Hover Bike to help you clear out further enemy outposts. A Supply Depot will also be dropped nearby, so make sure to refill on ammo. ~ Objective: Enter Bike ~ Once it's landed, hop on! ~ Objective: Assist 5th ~ As the onscreen text tells you, LB is for your jump jet, RB for missiles, left stick click for a speed bost. And of course LT to zoom in and RT for your machine gun. Make note of the ammo bar on the bottom right, it's shared between both weapons. Move up and fall down another sharp drop. Start heading down the path. Head to the left through the open gate, you'll notice a friendly inside who gives you a rundown. ~ Objective: Assist 5th Destroy Alpha Turrets 0/3 ~ There's a mass of enemy resistance just across the river. Stay on this side and focus on the Turrets first, especially the Missile one just in front of you. Strafe a bit to avoid it's fire, and use your own missiles back. Then take down the turrets on the left and right. ~ Objective: Assist 5th Destroy Echo Turrets 0/3 ~ Once the turrets are done for, focus on the infantry. Move across the shallow bridge to the other side when ready, and look over the small hil. Your machine gun is ideal for the infantry, and continue to use your missiles on the new turrets that drop in. Hide behind the rocks at the top of this hill to avoid the missile fire, including from an enemy on the right with a Missile Launcher. Once the turrets are all done, the enemy starts retreating. ~ Objective: Eliminate Infantry ~ Move up the path, you'll notice a small base ahead with a number of enemies inside. Don't go over the hill, stay on the top near bunker on the right. Look over and destroy the turret on the left first. Now move left and quickly destroy the other turret just on the right. Now the infantry will be no trouble. Stay back and spam your guns and missiles from long range. When there are only a few left, move up as they're no threat now. Tear through them with your machine guns. ~ Objective: Destroy Fuel Depot 0/4 Destroy Comm Relays Destroy Convoys ~ A bunch of new targets for you! Move to the left through the canyon path. You'll notice your targets are spread out to the left, middle and right. We'll take out the convoys first. Move up near the building on the right and turn towards it. Watch out for the Missile Turret right out front of it, destroy it first. Take out the infantry out front as well. More infantry will move in close to attack you, kill them as well. Now you can go destroy the convoys. As Graves says, nothing fancy - just fire a ton of missiles! Head back a bit and go around this convoy base. You'll spot 2 enemy bikes on the right side here. Quickly move in close and start firing, making sure to strafe all the time. The combination of speed, movement and your guns will overwhelm them easily. Now move forward down the path they were near to the fuel depots. There's another Missile Turret just out front, destroy it as well as any infantry nearby. Stay long range from the fuel depots and fill 'em with lead, they get destroyed quickly. When they're toast, move through the fueling area towards your next objectives. There will be a lone infantry near you as you go over a small hill. Also take out the turret you can see from here, near the relays. And also, just to the left of this turret is a mech which you can easily defeat from here. Move closer and look to the left around the barriers surrounding the closest relay, another turret for you to destroy. Now finally move into the barrier covered area and blow up both relays. A Supply Depot will drop nearby. ~ Objective: Infiltrate Compound ~ Before leaving, there's another Data Log for you to grab. From the relay area, look to the southeast and start heading up the hill there. There's a bunker just on the other side of some large rock spikes. Inside is the Data Log on the floor. - Data Log: 4 of 10 Found - You'll have to leave your bike behind unfortunately. Move past the destroyed relays to the ledge Matthews and Graves have gone up. Jetpack up to follow them. Start moving through the tunnel. As you exit you'll reach a small hill, don't be eager to go over it since a Sniper has a perfect view of the top. He's in a tower to the right, so peek over and kill him. There's also a turret just below where he was. Pull out your Missile Launcher to make short work of it. Stick close to the burning wreckage on your left here as another Sniper is in a tower on the left side of the entrance. Kill him and any infantry that comes close to you. Also take out the turret on the left side as well. You'll notice a marker and a health bar appearing on the wall to the left side, you can destroy it to make an opening if you want. It's not really necessary. ~ Objective: Capture Commander Thorne ~ Thorne will show up on your minimap. Move into the base, make sure to hit the Supply Depot on the left for ammo. Now, there are a bunch of infantry at the other end of the base, so let Matthews/Graves move up a bit before you do. You can also take the left side to sneak up a bit. Now start firing on Thorne, he's easily distracted by your teammates. Once you get him down to low health, a cutscene plays as he runs away. ~ Objective: Wait for USIS Nevada 1:00 ~ What you have to do now is defend yourself for a certain time limit so the Nevada can attack the shielded bunker. Right after the cutscenes, Matthews lets you know about a bombing run about to occur and he marks where the bombs will drop on your HUD. Look behind to see the red markers over the middle strip. Quickly get out of the way before they bomb it. Move away from the front of the bunker, as right after a few infantry and turrets will drop in front. Stay around the corner so they don't overwhelm you. Kill the infantry first before destroying both turrets. Make note of when Matthews tells you about another bombing run, and move out of the way of the markers. Keep hiding back near cover and taking out enemies. ~ Objective: Hack Shield Controls ~ You need to disable the shields so the Nevada can get a clear shot. 3 markers will appear on your minimap, go to any one of them and hack the console. Just remember that the bombing runs will keep coming, so jetpack away if needed. Once the console is hacked and the shield is down, make sure to move away from the entrance to watch the fireworks. ~ Objective: Wait for USIS Nevada 0:45 ~ Now you need to repeat the process. Wait for the timer, hide and kill enemies, and dodge bombing runs. Remember the Supply Depot for ammo, and use your Repair Tool to keep you alive. ~ Objective: Hack Shield Controls ~ Hack one of the remaining consoles when told to. Again move back to avoid the strike. ~ Objective: Wait for USIS Nevada 0:45 ~ Same deal. Keep moving, stay near the back of the base if possible, nothing special. Just always stay wary of the airstrikes. ~ Objective: Hack Shield Controls ~ Last console, whichever one you haven't hacked yet. Run over and use it. Move away from the bunker one last time. You've finished the level! Enjoy the cutscene. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 4: Stormfront*** [LVL04] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * As Corde and First Recon search through the wreckage for * * Arm Commander Thorne, Thorne's mysterious ally makes his * * move. * ***************************************************************** The level starts right after the cutscene. You and your team are being attacked by an overwhelming force - so for now, it's time to run! ~ Objective: Regroup with Blackburn ~ Start running down the path in front of you. You'll hear the sounds of enemies shooting down at you. You'll also get a notice that new gear variants are available. When you get to the first objective marker, Graves tells you to watch out for the mining lasers. Just around the corner you'll see what he means - unsurprisingly, the big laser beam is best avoided! Stay on this side for the moment. You'll want to kill at least 1 of the enemies on the other side before moving through. Squeeze through, dodging the laser, when you can. There may be an enemy near the second laser so kill him too. Dodge the second laser, but watch out for the two enemies behind cover right on the other side. Move to the left quickly to take out the right enemy. Stay behind cover because there's an enemy high up to your right who will shoot down at you. Kill all 3 of the enemies here before moving on. Another enemy will be on the right, before the next laser. When you get to the third laser, you'll notice it's moving - a bit trickier to dodge. Might want to kill the enemy on the other side before hand. Quickly squeeze by when the laser starts moving to the other side of the path. Move up a few feet to the marker. Sprint across the thin bridge towards the Supply Depot. Blackburn will contact you. Go up to the Supply Depot but hide behind some cover if you want to use it, there's enemies closeby near the next laser. You can try some of the new gear if you wish, I recommend switching to EMP or normal grenades since it's more close quarters combat for a bit. You may also want to change your Missile Launcher for a different weapon if you haven't already, you won't be doing any destroying for a bit. ~ Objective: Go to Launch Pad ~ When you're ready, move out and towards the laser - one enemy might already be dead from running into the laser. But there will still be some on the other side so watch out. Also watch out for these lasers - they're tricky to dodge! I would stay on this side and take out most if not all enemies on the immediate other side. This next little area has a few cover pieces and a bunch of enemies in hiding still. WATCH OUT as there is also an enemy on the elevated platform to the left, definitely kill him before moving through. When you want to move through, stay close to the laser and sprint through just a bit after it starts moving to the other side. Kill any remaining enemies here. Watch out for them, they hide behind cover near the back but aren't afraid to come out of it towards you. This area can be a little tough. Move up and you'll see 4 moving lasers in a row ... yeah ... Just keep going up to one side, and when the laser is out of your way sprint through. When you get past the 3rd laser, move to cover on whatever side you're on - some mean ol' enemies will appear at the top! Can't you see I'm busy dodging industrial mining lasers? Stay behind the laser machinery, mechanism, whatever. Just peek out and kill your attackers. They WILL come over to your side though if they're able, so you can also just wait for them to come to you. When they're done, move through the final laser for a checkpoint. FINALLY! Move up around the corner. Down the path a bit you'll spot a body on the left. If you go close to it, you spot another Data Log for your collection. - Data Log: 5 of 10 Found - Once you've got it, Keep moving just down the path to the red smoke. Around the corner are some enemies so get ready. Use the crate on the left side of the start of this hall for cover. Kill the first 2 enemies then move up the hall and look around the next corner. More enemies behind cover, but some also appear towards the other side of this room. So stay near the corner for cover so you don't get overwhelmed. It's the usual stuff - don't charge out, try to take on one enemy at a time. Keep going towards the next corner near the marker. Some more enemies just around the corner, one on the slope who will move backwards usually. Kill him, let your shields and armour regen, then peek around again. There's one enemy hiding behind a short wall on the left, and another enemy a bit behind him on top of a rock. Don't move up or the guy behind cover will pop out and start attacking. You can see the enemy on top of the rock first, so kill him. Then take out the guy behind cover. Up to the top of the hill you go. Around the corner Blackburn will tell you he's being attacked. Go down the path to the marker. You'll be on a cliff ledge that gets knocked down to the area below, where Blackburn is. Don't move up to the enemies just yet - a scripted event happens where the platform is blown up. So no sense in running into all those enemies! Best to stay back and kill them for afar. Watch out for an enemy up on the high ledge to the left (when looking towards where the platform was). Make him your priority, jetpack up there if needed. You can then turn your attention to the enemies that were near the platform, but your teammates usually deal with them. ~ Objective: Go to Landing Zone ~ You probably noticed the Supply Depot already, so get ammo and make any swaps you want. You will probably want to grab your Missile Launcher again, more destroyable stuff is up head. But you can usually make do with mortars or other weaponry if you need to. You can grab another Data Log here. Standing next to the Supply Depot, look towards your next objective. Jetpack up the cliff on your right. You'll notice a few metal pillars littering this cliff area. Go past the first two, at the second pillar turn right and follow this path. Right before you reach the third pillar is the Data Log on the ground. - Data Log: 6 of 10 Found - When you're done start heading towards your objective again, towards the platform. A short jog down the path and you'll see a base ahead, there's some cover to your left in the form of a low barrier. Just on the other side of this barrier is a turret so destroy it. I hate turrets also! You can move up to take out the enemies littering the base if you're impatient, otherwise play it safe and kill them from here (or at least don't go charging in to the middle). You may notice more square markers with health bars like in the last level, they're pointing to barrels you can shoot and blow up for splash damage. So if you see an enemy near one, you know what to do. When you get to the far side of this platform, more enemies will drop in just on the other side so be wary. There's also a turret on this side as well, near the stairs. If you stay on the top of this platform/base, enemies don't swarm you as much so you're a bit safer. Then you can shoot through the gaps and over the edges at them. Let your teammates distract them also. Though some enemies may get smart and jetpack up, so be on your guard. Soon enemies will appear on the ridge back behind the left side of the base. One has a Pulse Cannon which can be devastating. Try to hide behind the big mining laser on this side of the base. This part is tough. Don't move out in the open much or you'll get torn to pieces. Only venture out when your teammates have killed all the moving enemies and they'll come with you. When dealing with enemies with Pulse Cannons, your best bet is to always be moving - jetpacking especially, but even bunny hopping around helps dodge their fire. Also hiding behind low cover sometimes work, they might shoot the cover instead of you and you can keep firing at them. If you have grenades or mortars, use them also. When you've dealt with them, use the Supply Depot if needed then move up the path they were guarding. Go up and around the bend to the marker. Your teammates will have a discussion about Orion's Spear. Go around the next bend to the left and up the slope. You'll go into a cave, just follow the slope up through it. You'll get a checkpoint. Go around the icy spikes towards the exit. Big bridge in front of you, Supply Depot just before it on the left. When you get close the bridge is blown up. Jerks! You'll have to use an alternate route. Before moving, I suggest grabbing a Sniper as enemies will start shooting at you from the other side. Go to the left side past the Supply Depot and follow the path here. Snipe all the enemies you can see, then switch to another weapon if you want. I recommend keeping the Sniper. Now go back to the left route and follow it, making some jetpack jumps along the way. When you get to the other side, follow the smoke to the cave ahead. Don't rush into it - there's enemies just past the entrance. Stay behind the big ice spike right in the middle of the entrance. You know the deal, peak out and take one at a time. Your teammates will rush up and help. When they're dead, move up a bit to a thin path around the corner. There's a spike in your way here, blocking your view of an enemy just behind it near some crates. So pop up and kill him. Another enemy is viewable at the end of the cave, use your Sniper if you have it. There's yet another enemy just to the left of where he is, jetpack up the higher ledge on your left here then kill him as well. I recommend staying on this higher ledge and sniping the enemies you can see near and on the large base ahead. Killing everyone you can see here will make your life easier when moving up. When ready move up a bit, towards of the end of this little field of objects. Oh, apparently it's called an "excavator" ... well I'm calling it a base, dammit. Stay here in a cover for a bit and kill anyone you see from safety. Then I recommend jetpacking up to the top of the base, excavtor, you know what I mean. The next set of enemies is are on and around the next little base up ahead. Sniper works well here. Take your time, no rush to get killed right? Finally, jetpack up to the marker on the landing platform. Blackburn will talk to you. ~ Objective: Hold Landing Zone 2:00 ~ So now we have to defend and survive for 2 minutes against some enemies. Stone sends you one more Supply Depot. Enemies will soon start appearing on the far base, and also dropping right behind you in your base too. Stay near the satellite dish on one side of the landing pad for cover. The enemies will move in close to your position quickly, so stay on your guard. Your Machine Gun will be your best bet, just spam it close or mid range. If you need to, fall off the platform so you get out of harm's way, then heal. Make sure to get back up quickly though. A small cutscene will occur and Blackburn gets shot down. You just can't catch a break, can you? I suppose we'll have to go save him ... lame! ~ Objective: Go to Crash Site ~ Start heading through the excavator area towards the marker. There are enemies on the otherside of the final excavator, near the marker. Stay behind the nearby cover, it's pretty abundant. You can also jetpack up the excavator and shoot down, enemies might come up there though. When they're all killed, move to the marker. You'll start moving through a cave, a rumble will knock a lot of the spikes down. Turn left around the bend and head for the exit. Right after the red smoke trails is a shard drop, sprint off the edge and fall down. Head straight for the crashed ship for a cutscene. ~ Objective: Plant Explosives ~ As you'll notice in the cutscene, a bunch of enemies drop in your perimeter. You can ignore them if you feel like it. Use the Supply Depot if needed then jetpack over the ship towards the thin bridge ahead. An attack ship will fly low and shoot at you but don't worry, it doesn't do anything. Now, you can play it safe, flank from the side, and take out all the enemies before moving to plant the explosives. Or you can overdrive-jetpack over the wall of the base, land near the gun, kill the enemy near the explosives planting point, quickly plant them, then run quickly back to where you came from. Phew! It's a bit dangerous but it works. ~ Objective: Regroup with Survivors ~ When you're done, start sprinting down the bridge again. The attack ship shoots it again, this time it DOES do something - be prepared to jetpack as he destroys part of the bridge! When you get to the other side, ignore all the fighting again and head straight for the ship/marker. Another cutscene plays, signaling the end of the level. ================================================== = Achievement Unlocked: = = A Thorne in their Side (10G) = = Complete the Stormfront level of the Campaign = ================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 5: For the Wicked*** [LVL05] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * After taking serious casualties, Section 8 retreats to a * * hidden USIF base on a long-forgotten volanic planet. * ***************************************************************** You start this level in the middle of a friendly base. Stone contacts you a few moments later. ~ Objective: Report to General Stone ~ Simply move a bit ahead of you around the dividing wall, in the back room where Stone is. You'll get a notice that the Shotgun is now available. Stone will tell you a bit more about the backstory of your enemies. ~ Objective: Regroup with Graves ~ Turn around and head up the stairs near where you started, on the left or right. When you get up top, head right and follow the road down to where Graves is. Go up to Graves to have a little chat with him. ~ Objective: Go to Control Center ~ You can follow the path left, or simply jetpack up the cliff face to the Control Center. There's a Supply Depot on the right, as always feel free to switch up your gear. I kept the Machine Gun and Shotgun, and chose a Repair Tool and grenades. A mortar would be handy also. ~ Objective: Deploy Sensor Array ~ Head up the stairs to the top of the control center. Hit Up on the D-pad and put down a Sensor Array where the marker is, near the balcony. ~Objective: Decrypt Transmission ~ You can clearly see your next marker from your perch. Run and jetpack down south to the top of this base. Go to the console up here on the top level and use it. Cutscene! ~ Objective: Defend Tower ~ Now it's time for us to defend another base. If you happen to have played the other modes already, you'll notice this base - and this map, actually - is near identical to Prometheus. It's the same CP you defend in Swarm and it's the bottom CP in Conquest. That being said, if you have experience playing those modes on this map, make sure to use the tactics you've learned there in defending this base. Enemies first spawn behind you to the south-west. Start raining fire down on them. If you have a mortar, a great time to use it is right when the land since they won't be able to move immediately, so you're almost guaranteed a hit. Just stay up top and use the height to your advantage, backing up if you take too much damage. There are a bunch of waves of enemies, probably around 15 or more, so keep your guard up. If you've never used the Shotgun before, a basic tactic is to stay behind cover, pop out, hold LT and quickly aim and shoot your enemy, then go back to cover. Keep repeating this in a quick succession, if you get the rhthym right you can kill them very quickly without taking much damage. The Shotgun can be surprisingly accurate, especially if you have some Gyro Stabilizers. ~ Objective: Defend Tower Deploy Minigun Turrets ~ After all the enemies are down, Stone tells your squad to put down Minigun Turrets. Graves gives you $80 so you can put down 2 of them. The hard part, of course, is choosing just where they should go. Don't worry about choosing quickly, the next set of enemies don't spawn until you put them down. So take the time to use the Supply Depot and switch out gear if needed. I would put one right near where the objective marker is on the top level, so it's overlooking the ridgeline and path to the north. Then I would put the other on the south side of the top level, there's a noticeable gap in the railing so it can look out over a bit more terrain. Remember if you have a Repair Tool you can heal these turrets, so try to keep them repaired! Once you have both turrets down, enemies start spawning. They first appear on the northern ridgeline I mentioned. Stay near your turret/Supply Depot and start firing. Watch out as a Missile Launcher enemy will be just a bit to the left, above the cliff face. Hide behind the Depot to heal your armour. Once the enemies are down, make sure to heal your turret if needed. More enemies drop down, this time just a bit to the east of where the last ones were. Same deal as before, make sure to go to the Supply Depot or simply jetpack up/away if you start taking a lot of damage. This wave shouldn't be a problem either. You get a checkpoint for your troubles. The next wave comes from south, the side your other turret is overlooking. It's in a good position to start firing on enemies but it might be destroyed since way too many of the enemies this wave have Missile Launchers. Don't despair too much if it gets blown up, but you can try to hide behind it and heal it. Otherwise, defend as normal. The enemies like to run up the ramp straight towards you, so have your Shotgun ready when that happens. You can generally kill all these enemies with your Shotgun since they crowd at the bottom of the ramp, pretty close range. Just do the pop out tactic described above and you'll rip 'em apart. Use the big crate on the left at the top of the ramp for solid cover. Once most of the enemies are gone, the rest start retreating and you get a message about a Spear wreck. ~ Objective: Investigate Crash Site ~ Make sure to get ammo from the Supply Depot before heading out. When ready, head out the south side of the base and follow the path just bit to the east to the wreck. Start engaging some of the enemies you can see from here. Graves tends to charge in and provide a nice distraction. When they're all dead, move up to the crash site. ~ Objective: Retrieve Intel ~ Go to the underside of the wreckage to find the intel. Retrieve it. Graves tells you that you need to get the generator started. ~ Objective: Wait For Mech Delivery ~ This objective is pretty tough, but I think you can do it. Wait a few seconds for your mech to drop in front of you. ~ Objective: Enter Mech ~ I hope you've mastered the usage of the A button by now. Hop in. ~ Objective: Go to Generator ~ Mechs are pretty fun. LT is zoom, RT is your machine guns, LB is leap and RB is melee. You can pull of fatalities just like with the knife. Before going anywhere, you can get a Data Log nearby. Be warned as it's in the restricted area so you may die in your attempt (but you get a checkpoint when you enter the mech, so you won't lose any real progress). Jump out of your mech (press A) and turn around, you'll see a path entrance flanked by rocks on either side, it heads east of you. Go downthis path just a bit until you can see the lava waterfall ahead. Peak around the left corner and you'll see the Data Log on the opposite ledge. Now that you know where it is, jetpack to the rock jutting out above it that's right beside you. Move up this rock as far as you can without being in the red zone. When you're ready, jump and land right on the Data Log, grab it, then QUICKLY turn the way you came and jetpack back to safe land. You can now get back in your mech. - Data Log: 7 of 10 Found - Follow Graves down the path. You'll notice some turrets up ahead, first one up and to the left. Take it out with your guns. There's another one around the corner, next to the base. Turn left and look under the bridge. Another turret is just on the other side, on ground level. Move under the bridge. ~ Objective: Clear Hostiles ~ A few enemies will be marked on your HUD, and you might notice there's 2 enemy bikes just up ahead. The infantry are just cannon fodder, your machine guns tear through them. Also make note of a turret on the front side of the base. After a few kills, Graves notes that another squad is dropping in. The bikes have missiles, but they don't tend to do a whole lot of damage and your guns rip through them as well. Overall an easy battle. Just keep moving left or right and melee anyone who gets close. Make sure to kill the Missile Turret on the far side of the base quickly, as it's probably the only real threat. Graves will again remark that another squad is incoming. This time, you need to be wary - a Missile Turret is called in on the side of the base you came from. Try to move in between those circular generator things at the base to get some cover from it. Some of the infantry also have Missile Launcers this time. If things get dangerous, feel free to hop out of your mech (press A) and heal it with your Repair Tool before getting back into the action. Graves will let you know when the area is clear (though he oddly doesn't count any turrets still alive). ~ Objective: Reactive Generators ~ Jump out of your mech and use both consoles for a cutscene. Get back in your mech when it's done. ~ Objective: Go to East Comms ~ Follow Graves down the path to the east. Go around the corner then cross the bridge over troubled lava. Stone talks to you about the intel found earlier. As you get close to the base, you'll notice enemies ahead. More easy kills. You can move in close for melee kills, they also kill quickly. Once they're all dead, an Engineer tells you the importance of the nearby communication dishes. ~ Objective: Defend Comm Relays ~ North Dish Alignment 1:30 There's two of them, a North and South Dish, both with a health bar. Obviously, if either of the health bars reaches 0, you lose. The first wave of enemies appears to the south. Get there quick and engage the enemies so they focus less on the dishes. If you catch an enemy just as he drops you can easily kill him before he even moves. Keep moving at all times to avoid missile fire. Graves will let you know when enemies are coming from the North now. Quickly head to the opposite side. Make sure to kill the turrets from long range before moving to close. After it's done, aame deal as before - get in close to where they drop so you can both distract them and kill them very quickly. ~ Objective: Defend Comm Relays ~ South Dish Alignment 1:30 The enemies switch back to the south side, so head back over there. Two more turrets are dropped right near the base so get rid of them first. Stone lets you know that Spear vehicles have landed. Mechs will attack. Try not to get to close because they can also fatality you, leading to an instant death. Move away from them and full them with lead. You can also melee/fatality them but be careful. Try to do it mainly when they're focusing on something else. They drop another turret just up the slope a bit so take care of it, then just camp where they drop like always. Another 2 mechs are dropped, in a 1-on-1 firefight with comparable health you'll almost always win, so just keep firing. Once the South Dish is aligned, and another chat with Stone and Matthews, the level will end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 6: Beasts*** [LVL06] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * Corde and Graves rush to reactive the generators powering * * the planet's defensive cannons. The Spear fleet moves into * * bombardment position, preparing to annihilate Section 8. * ***************************************************************** This level starts with a cutscene. I don't think rivers of blood would be a nice sight at all, but whatever. You're tasked with reactivating the orbital defense cannons. ~ Objective: Escort Tank ~ But first, an escort mission! Everyone loves those right? At the very least, you can heal the tank with your Repair Tool like always, which comes in handy. Move up the path with the tank. You'll notice a Missile Turret just ahead. There are also 2 infanty up the wall behind it, and 2 infantry to the right of it behind barriers. Try to run ahead and engage them quickly because they'll soon start ripping the tank apart. Get in close to the infantry on the right first and kill 'em quick with your Shotgun. Fly up the wall and deal with the enemies up there in the same way. Now there's a mech coming down the path with some infantry flanking it. Great! Stay back and pick off the infantry. The mech likes to go after Graves unless to aggravate it. It if starts attacking you, run! Jetpack away, behind the tank is a good place to hide. Also staying up the high wall usually shields you from its guns. The tank can deal with the mech slowly for now. Take out any infantry coming from up the slope ahead. Otherwise they'll use their Missiles on the tank. When they're done, start attacking the Mech from up here to get its attention. As long as you're not close and don't stand right in the line of fire, you can kill it somewhat quickly (with your teammates helping, of course). You'll get a notice that the Pulse Cannon is now available. The PC is a fairly powerful weapon, but it's hard to use against moving or flying targets. Follow The tank up the path and around the corner. On the right side here at the far end of this little canyon is a Supply Depot. Run up and use it. I stuck with my Machine Gun and grabbed a Pulse Cannon. I also changed my grenades for a Crash Mortar for deployables (so you don't have to get a Missile Launcher). Make sure to check for new gear varients also. As you move just past the Supply Depot to the top of the hill, watch out as the dropship up ahead takes off and fires at you. Hide behind some cover quick. When it's gone start engaging the enemies down below. The Pulse Cannon can be charged up for a more powerful shot. A good two hit combo is a charged shot for their shields, then another weapon - incendiary if you have it - for their armour. Though it can also be powerful enough to use it entirely to kill an enemy, but you might run out of ammo quickly. You can use it, but a Missile Launcher is probably a better idea for all the deployables and vehicles coming up. As the tank moves up keep an eye one it's health. Move behind it and heal it if necessary. Always make it your priority - it takes damage pretty quickly on Hard. Play it safe, heal it fully then get back in the battle. Another good place to hide is just to the left of where the tank stays, behind a rock that juts out. This way you can be in cover, peak out to shoot at enemies, but also be close enough to heal the tank. Watch out as they drop a mech in just a bit ahead of you. Use a PC or Missile Launcher to take it out pretty quickly. Once this mech and all the regular enemies are down, a tankappears on the far side of the little base here. Look in the distance to the south to spot him rolling up. This tank can kill you VERY quickly if you're out in the open. You can go up to the bunker on the ledge right above where the mech dropped. This way you can fire down on the tank but quickly back up to dodge its shots. Once this tough battle is done, start going down the path ahead of the tank again. Around the corner is another Supply Depot on the left. Head west over the bridge here. Tread carefully as you reach the top of the slope and head around the corner, because you'll be ambushed. Turrets will drop ahead so back up out of their line of fire. Try to quickly kill them fast because they'll tear through your tank if you let them. A mech appears on the right and infantry moves up from the left near the turrets. Stay near your tank so you can heal it, it's gonna need it. Take out any remaining opposition once the mech is gone then heal your tank again. Fortunately you're on the home stretch now. Move through this area to the next one, you can see friendly deployables already. No more annoying escorting! Use the Supply Depot and get ammo. ~ Objective: Talk to Matthews ~ Matthews is inside the bunker right beside the Supply Depot, go around the corner and through the door. ~ Objetice: Repel Hostiles ~ Another day, another base for you to defend. Head up to the front of the base where there's a noticeable gap in the barrier. Enemies will drop just ahead of these, among all the cover, and move up through it. I recommend grabbing a Shotgun again since they like to charge right up to you here. Get mortars if you don't already because turrets will show up also. Defend against the first wave. Stay close-ish to the Supply Depot or other' cover and use your Shotgun when they get in your face. When the second wave comes, turrets are dropped on the left and right so use mortars as soon as you see them. Third wave, two mechs charge up. Quickly grab a Missile Launcher and Detpacks. Circle around the bunker in the middle to avoid direct fire, moving backwards and shooting missiles/throwing and detonating detpacks at the mechs feet as they follow you. You can run inside the bunker if you need a breather also. Once the third wave is down, you're good. ~ Objective: Report to Blackburn ~ As always, use the Supply Depot and switch out your weapons if you want. A Missile Launcher is still a good idea to keep around. When ready, head south to the first marker. Then move right down the grated slope. Turn left, moving past your teammates, into the base. Fly over to Blackburn. ~ Objective: Repair Turrets ~ You probably still have a Repair Tool so no need to grab one. Head east towards the trenches. Looks like a pretty classic battlefield, huh? Try to stay low as Graves recommends. Sprint directly east into the bunker on the hill and repair the turret. Before moving on, look out the window and kill any nearby enemies that might get in your way as you move to the other turret. Head out of the bunker and follow the low path that heads south. You can run to the end to find a Supply Depot under a small ceiling. Turn left at the fork and kill the enemy right here on the left. Then quickly run up and behind the bunker to heal the other turret. ~ Objective: Reactivate First Generator ~ Now you can head out for the generators. Exit the bunker and go to the exit to this area on the east side. Sprint up the slope and move up behind the large barrier here. There are some enemies right on the other side here. Enemies will charge right up to you here, so try moving back just a bit down the slope behind one of the rocky outcroppings here on the left or right. Short range Machine Gun fire will tear through them. When they're all dead, move to the console and activate it. ~ Objective: Go to Second Generator ~ Move to the east side towards the next marker. Down the path there's a Supply Depot. Move left into the industrial park. There's a mech right near the entrance so pull out your Missile Launcher and applicable equipment. Hide behind the wrecked vehicle on the left, and pop in and out to shoot at it. No problem. You may want to temporarily grab a Sniper Rifle, as there's an enemy Sniper up on the catwalk ahead of you. Also watch out for an Engineer that likes to charge to your position. Grab your Missile Launcher again, move through the entrance and destroy the turret just down your path. There's an infantry just to the left of it behind cover, kill him to. Around the corner to the right are two more turrets for you to blow up. You can also cut through the room on your right to get behind the second turret. When they're done, move through the tunnel. Sprint ahead to the second generator. ~ Objective: Defend Second Generator ~ There's a Supply Depot near the friendlies. Stay near it, then guard the "hallway" towards the other end where the enemies are coming from. Grenades or mortars work well defending this spot. The second wave of enemies include a mech. Missiles and mortars will make him no problem. The third wave has 2 mechs, a bit more tricky. Spam missiles at them as they are approaching, and when the get close hide close to the Supply Depot. Pop in and out to fire at them. Hopefully the Depot helps keep you alive. But it's not over yet - next a tank rolls up! Start firing missiles as soon as you see it on the ridge. However, DON'T stay in the open too long because just like the tank near the beginning, it will kill you super quick. Hide behind the Depot and use your Repair Tool as soon as you start taking a bit of damage. The tank doesn't move from it's spot, so you have all the time in the world if you're patient. Move just a bit left of the Depot, do a short jetpack up, fire a missile at it, fall down and heal, repeat 'til it's dead. ~ Objective: Go to Third Generator ~ Graves stays behind with 2nd Recon. Move to the slope where the enemies entered from. Go up the slope but turn right at the top. Head to the edge of this path and fall down the short drop. ~ Objective: Activate Third Generator ~ Now, this next area has some falling ledges so be careful. Move to the second platform and hop over the debris. As your sprint across the third platform it will start to fall apart, so quickly move to the left onto the fourth. Next, onto the fifth which is half-melted. Before going to the next platform, look to your right to spot a Data Log on a ledge across the lava. It's tricky, but you can jetpack right over to it - there's a low ceiling right before the ledge that may push you down, so watch out for that. An alternate, easier way is to move towards the next platform (don't touch it yet though, and jetpack on the the fallen girder that leads over the lava. Follow it to the end, then jetpack the short jump to the ledge here. Follow the ledge right to the Data Log. Make your way back the same way. - Data Log: 8 of 10 Found - Stay on top of the girder, overlooking the next platform. It will almost instantly fall down when you touch it, so simply jump then jetpack over this platform entirely to the next one. From here, run to safe ground ahead. Run ahead and go up the stairs. As Graves guessed, it's a trap - enemies, including a mech, are already on the platform. I found that the mech sometimes gets stuck trying to move to the top of the stairs, so you can quickly shoot some missiles if that happens to destroy him. Otherwise move far back and deal with him from afar. An enemy has a perfect view of the top of the staircase, so just pop out around the corner, do some damage, then move back and hide. There's also a Sniper on the far catwalk, he tends to miss at this range as long as you keep moving. Burst fire to kill him to. Move up and use the console for the third generator. A cutscene plays. ~ Objective: Reactivate Second Generator ~ Blackburn uses an airstrike to clear the main road you avoided before, so Overdrive towards it and start heading through. Nothing will bother you on the way, sprint all the way to the generator area for a cutscene. ~ Objective: Go to Backup Controls ~ Sad face ;_; Oh well, we've got work to do. Go up the path right ahead of you. Around the corner, you'll get a checkpoint but also come face to face with Salvador's gunship! Avoid his fire, then move up across the bridge. ~ Objective: Defeat Salvador's Gunship 2:00 ~ A lot of people have trouble with this battle, but there's simple trick that can make it quite easy. Stay exactly where the objective marker was, right at the end of the bridge under the platform. Pull out your Missile Launcher. Now the idea is pretty simple - pop out from under the platform just enough so you can aim at the gunship, and fire. Keep popping in and out like this and you'll dodge a lot of his fire. He'll shoot missiles at the platform and you'll notice a big red marker around you, but don't worry - it harmlessly hits the walkway above you. Just keep firing - you need to be accurate, you can't miss too many shots or you won't make it in time. You shouldn't need to zoom in though, just fire normally. About half-way through he'll bust up the walkways and they'll fall down above you, but just move a bit to the left away from the fallen section and keep repeating the above process. Don't stay out in the open too long and you'll be fine. I managed to kill him with over 30 seconds left. ~ Objective: Use Backup Controls ~ Move up the stairs behind you, then jetpack up the broken platform to where the console is. It's undamaged - how perfect! Use the console for a cutscene and to end the level. ================================================== = Achievement Unlocked: = = Dig Two Graves (5G) = = Complete the Beasts level of the Campaign = ================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 7: Devolved*** [LVL07] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * Action on captured Spear intelligence, Section 8 moves * * their fleet to New Madrid. Just like For the Wicked, you'll notice that this map is pretty much one of the multiplayer maps - this time, Eden. ~ Objective: Regroup with Blackburn ~ Start heading down the only path you can, thanks to unaccessible red-marked areas. Either sprint around the rocks or jetpack over them to meet up with Blackburn. A Supply Depot is right near him. There are some new gear variants, so feel free to check them out. Make sure to hold on to your Missile Launcher. ~ Objective: Kill Defenders ~ There are some enemies nearby, on the other side of some more rocks. Jetpack up a nearby rock to get the height advantage. The other enemies are under the nearby platform, they're easily killed or distracted by your teammates. 2 mechs will appear from the other side of the platform. Aren't you glad I told you to stick with the Missile Launcher? Pull it out and start firing. You can jetpack up to the topside of the platform you're under to dodge their fire, then fire back down at them from safety. You get a checkpoint, and your team calls in a handful of deployables. Stone tells you that a lab to the southeast must be captured. ~ Objectice: Destroy AA Turrets 0/4 ~ Start heading southeast. As you get closer to the nearest AA turret, some infantry and a mech will attack. Use the rocks to your advantage, hiding behind them if necessary. You can also go behind a rock, then jetpack up and fire, then fall back down - and repeat. Your Machine Gun for the infantry, and your Missile Launcher and mortars if you have them for the mech. The first AA turret is just to the left of where these enemies were, so destroy it. Jetpack on top of the rock just to the left of that turret. Some enemies can see you here but you can move back or fully drop off the rock if needed. You can see another AA turret on your right, down in a shallow pool of water. Once it's destroyed and you've killed any infantry that get in your way, look left and you can just see the top of the next turret on the rocks in front of you. Jetpack to where that turret just was. Finally, peek over the far side of this plateau and destroy the last turret. Watch out as an infantry may jetpack up here to fight you. There are also a bunch of enemies that can see you, they're near the large dome ahead. Move back behind some rocks to avoid their fire. ~ Objective: Hack Lab Database ~ Fall off the left side of the rock you're on. Start moving up, killing any enemies in your way. You'll pass a Supply Depot along the way so get ammo. I also highly recommend grabbing a Shotgun and grenades (EMP if you have an Incendiary weapon to compliment it), there's a very close quarters fight coming up. Go towards the door on this side of the dome. A few more enemies are around the doorway. Lots of stuff to hide behind and your teammates will be helping, so you'll have no troubles. As you move into the dome, watch out for any enemies lurking inside. Move up and hack the database. ~ Objective: Defend Lab Database ~ Another base for you to defend! Fortunately, if you've played this map in Conquest and defended or attacked this point, you'll know it pretty well. There's a door on each side, and the inside room has cover in the form of crates and some lower areas in the corners. If no enemies are near a doorway, you can move outside to avoid fire. The database has a health bar so you can heal it with your Repair Tool. The first enemies come from the north and east doorways. Stay on the other side, even outside the doom entirely, and pop in to kill them. More enemies soon flood in. Hopefully they turn their attention to teammates or the database so you can kill them with ease. Stay somewhat close to the database so you can heal it. Your Shotgun helps immensely here, if you know how to handle it this will be no problem. Just keep moving around the dome and healing the database in the down time between waves. There are 4 waves of enemies. At the end of the 4th wave, a special enemy with a unique name (I'd list it here, but it's hard to read it when fighting him). He can take more damage then your normal grunt so tread carefully. Fortunately, everyone else tends to be dead by the time he shows up so you and your squad mates can focus on him and take him down. Once he's killed, you get a cutscene. ~ Objective: Obtain Enemy Mechs ~ The mechs are outside and around the corner to the middle base on this map. Before you head there, you'll probably want to head back to the Supply Depot to swap weapons - get your Missile Launcher back. Of note, there's another Data Log you can collect before heading to the mechs. When looking down the path that leads to them, look up to the left to the top of the big rock that's to the right of the archways. Jetpack up there and grab it. - Data Log: 9 of 10 Found - Some enemies probably shot at you when you flew up here. You can actually stay up here in safety and let your friends deal with them if you feel like it. Or fire down at enemies and help your team out. Look towards your objective and you'll see an enemy mech in your way. Rain down missiles and mortars to take him out. Move close to the mechs, most if not all enemies should be dead by now. ~ Objective: Hack Override Console ~ The console is just near the mechs, on the wall of the elevator. ~ Objective: Get in Mech ~ Don't wrack your brain too hard figuring this one out. ~ Objective: Destroy Toxin Caches 0/5 ~ Destroy Convoy Trucks 0/1 Follow Blackburn south and around the corner. Head down the slope, then up the other side. A few enemies and the Convoy truck are right ahead of you. The convoy is destroyed quickly between the two of you. Start focusing on the enemies now. Some are on ground level, others litter the platforms and catwalks just above you. The first 3 toxin caches are just on your right here. Destroy them. Focus on the enemies again as they'll be firing on you a lot now. Keep moving, and hop out if you're taking too much damage (unless you're confident you can stop the source of this damage before you die, of course). Go around the farthest platform where the last 2 caches are, there's stairs on the back of it. Go up and destroy them. Another chat with your team members. ~ Objective: Intercept Final Shipment ~ Start heading north, you might have already noticed the dropship coming in. You get a cutscene as you get close to it. ~ Objective: Kill Decimus ~ Too late! We'll just have to settle with killing this guy instead. He's pretty powerful, so be on your guard - he uses Napalm Missiles so watch out for the ground burning below you as it continues to do damage. Head west. There's a Supply Depot here, and an enemy missile turret just west of it. Destroy it then head up the stairs here. You'll spot another turret as you move up the stairs. Now quickly turn right and find another turret, it's up on the egde of the platform the boss is on. Enemies will start moving in close to you now. I recommend jumping down and camping the Supply Depot, then just let them come to you. When they're dead, head up the stairs just beside you. Move forward up to the elevator and take it up. Note: If you die and reload, Decimus seems to no longer spawn on the platform. So you can skip going up the elevator and just go straight to attacking him. Be mindful of another turret on the other side of the platform. This part is tough. He calls in backup when you do some damage, an the Engieneers have Repair Tools and they love to heal him. The best advice I can give is to not charge in, don't try to get many melee kills. Stay back and flank around the platform to attack enemies. Once you kill some of his bodyguards, start focusing on him, dodging his missiles as best you can. Always keep an eye on your shields/armour, retreating is always better then dying! And don't try to constantly fire on Decimus, kill at least some of his bodyguards as they show up. You'll have a tough time killing him if he's constantly being healed. Once you finally kill Decimus, stay on your guard - you can still lose if you let the remaining enemies/turrets kill you! Best idea is to just back up, get out the way of all the fire. After a bit a cutscene commences, and you've beat the level! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Level 8: Prejudice*** [LVL08] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************** * With their superweapon destroyed, the Spear prepare to * * destroy the life-giving atmospheric tower on New Madrid. * * Section 8 rushes headfirst to stop General Salvador's * * genocidal plan. * ***************************************************************** After a brief cutscene, you start this level in a tank - which would be cool if you didn't also start in the line of fire of a few turrets! Quickly aim and destroy both turrets, and also kill the infantry in the tower that's in between them. ~ Objective: Destroy First Generator ~ Protect Tank Move up to the big gap in the wall. An enemy will pop up, fire at him and you'll notice you have some friends in the tank as well! You can switch to any tank spot with each D-pad direction, though you can only move in the main seat (Up). Your tank does heal itself after a bit, so you don't HAVE to use your Repair Tool - just hiding behind something for long enough will do the trick. Move up through the opening. There's another enemy near the bunker just to the left. Enemies and a turret are also along the broken road ahead of you, so take aim and start killin'. In general, mastering both moving and aiming at the same time is the key to surviving in the tank. Start heading down the road. An enemy or two will drop in, and there's also another turret just to the right around the corner of the dividing rock here. Move to the right side of the path, and destroy the turret on the other side of the big pipeline. Look far down your path to your southeast to notice a bunch of turrets. You can easily destroy them from here. Some enemies are also near the generator. Move up to the first generator and destroy the 3 sections of it. ~ Objective: Destroy Second Generator ~ Start heading towards the exit gate - a Supply Depot is dropped just to the right of it. Just around the bend are a few enemies, kill them and stay here to let your armour regen. Look down the path to spot a tank. Hey, if you can kill a tank on foot, I bet you can do it in your own tank! Use the beam of the pipeline and do the usually pop in and out routine. When the tank is down, move up. There will be some enemies near the building in the middle of this area, one of them on the roof. Some more drop onto the left side of the building. All easy targets. At the same time, turrets are dropped - one on the roof, one on the right side of the generators. Even MORE enemies are dropped near the building, on your side this time. Nothing special, just move around and kill them all! Finally, destroy the second generator. ~ Objective: Destroy Final Generator ~ Move east through the canyon towards your next target. Don't move too far past the gate - a tank rounds the corner just ahead. Back up so you can get behind some cover to the left. You know what to do from here. Go around the corner the tank came from. As your approach, multiple mechs come around the corner on the right when you can see the generators. Start moving back and shooting at them. Some turrets are dropped, one just near where the mechs appeared and another to the left of the generators. When you're ready, destroy the final generator. ~ Objective: Regroup with 5th ~ Don't get too close to the exit gate, because as soon as it opens a mech spills out. Destroy him, then you'll notice a bunch of enemies on the other side of some fallen girders. You can try to shoot them with your tank, but eventually you're gonna have to get out and proceed on foot. As you get through the tunnel, a bunch of enemies are on the other side firing in the air at the 5th's dropship. Easy kills since they're distracted. Use the fallen girder here as cover to take out any other enemies. Head east to the Supply Depot for ammo. Hostiles are nearby it, just on the other side of this hill. More enemies litter the area ahead. You can always take the time to kill them one by one and advance slowly ... or, Overdrive past them all through the industrial area ahead. Turrets will drop at the very end and you're forced to destroy them, so don't go running straight for the marker - jetpack to the left near some of the machinery and get on top of it so you can back up and hide. Pop out and destroy them with your Missile Launcher. When they're gone, move up and after a few seconds the map will expand and you can keep moving ahead. As you move up the path you'll see a Supply Depot and a few enemies near it - but they get flattened by some falling rock! Grab an Incendiary Shotgun. Move up to the caves ahead. Just outside the entrance is a Crimson Guard enemy, they're tougher to kill. Fortunately there's just one, so get in close and use your Shotgun. As you move to the entrance of the cave, you'll see some enemies inside. Start killing them from here, using all the rocks inside as cover. Some of the enemies do the same thing, so you can use the usual pop out tactic with the Shotgun. Be wary - an enemy may be on top of the ceiling above, and he'll fire down or fall down to attack you. Move to the next room, it's pretty wide open. There's a turret behind the rocks here and you can see another turret up the slope at the end. You can either run back to temporarily get a Missile Launcher, or just wear them down with your weapons. Use your Shotgun on the close on and your Machine Gun on the far one. When both turrets are down, sprint ahead to the marker and Supply Depot. ~ Objective: Clear Area ~ Time for some good ol' fashioned killing. You've got some teammates to help you out. This area has somewhat tricky design, don't move up so quickly or you'll get caught in a lot of cross fire. Stay on this side and fire down at enemies as they are exposed. You get a cutscene when they're all dead. ~ Objective: Defeat Engineers ~ There's an optional achievement you can go for here, if you care. You get a checkpoint right here so you can try as many times as you like. What you have to do is kill the enemy labelled "Vehicle Engineer" before he calls down a vehicle. What I did was basically charge him with my Shotgun, since it's the best chance of killing him quickly if you get real close. If you're lucky, he'll jump off the front of the balcony to the ground in front of you, so you can attack him without being bothered. This makes the achievement very easy. It should be noted that if you here him say "Mech deploying", you can still get the achievement - it's only when the mech actually lands that you have to retry. But watch out, as another enemy may take the mech and use it, even if the Vehicle Engineer dies. ================================================== = Achievement Unlocked: = = Use More Gun (10G) = = Defeat the Vehicle Engineer in the Prejudice = = Level of Campaign before he deploys a Mech = ================================================== Now, the other Engineer calls in turret and Supply Depots to heal them. He deploys them in a little bunch on his platform, so they can be deadly. Try to spam mortars on the platform, any Incendiary attacks are good since you can run away to avoid damage but keep on damaging the turrets. When they're all destroyed, he quickly calls in another wave so jetpack up and kill him with your Shotgun. ~ Objective: Recon Tower ~ Head past where the Engineers were and go south to the cave entrance. There are enemies inside so tread carefully. Stay near the pipes and use them as cover, you can crouch between them to be hidden from enemy fire. Let your team move up before you make a move. There are some normal enemies on the right side, and 2 more on the left including a Crimson Guard with a Pulse Cannon. Needless to say, watch out for him. You can do the Shotgun trick from the rock to the left near him. Move up, at the corner up ahead are more enemies, some behind rocks. Nothing special here, just the usual tactics. Just remember how awesome the Shotgun can be if you use it right. Fly over or around cover and instantly start aiming and firing. There's another 2 Crimson Guards near the end of the cave behind a rock, they have Siphon Tools which can be deadly. Just try to kill them quick, or stay back if you want so they can't use the Siphon Tool on you. Move to the exit when they're dead. Start moving through the field ahead, there's a Supply Depot here. ~ Objective: Destroy Turret Defenses ~ You have another chance to avoid some fighting here, it's up to you. If you want, sprint through and past the enemies, then jet pack over to the right side near the back - where the second Supply Depot is. If you do this, you'll be right near the turrets. Grab a Napalm Missile Launcher. A team mate will mention that a Supply Depot is healing the 3 enemy turrets. Jetpack up, and fire missiles and mortars towards the Supply Depot. It takes a while, but you'll eventually destroy all the deployables. If you find this doesn't work - the enemies can move up and heal the deployables also - you can try peeking around the corner and firing at them, this is just very dangerous. Be ready to hide and heal yourself if you do this. You can also occasionally take out your Machine Gun and kill the enemies since they'll be low on armour, with all that fire you've been throwing their way. When they're all down, go back to the Supply Depot and grab your Shotgun again, as well as Napalm or EMP Grenades. ~ Objective: Defend Blackburn ~ You don't really need to do anything for this, Blackburn runs over and opens the door. ~ Objective: Go Inside Tower ~ I hope you don't need help with this one! Move inside quickly. ~ Objective: Reactivate Tower Controls ~ Inside, turn to your left immediately to find the last Data Log in the room on the left. - Data Log: 10 of 10 Found - There's also a Supply Depot in the room beside this one. Exit, turn left and move forward, then go left or right, doesn't matter. Follow the hallway down to the room below. When you get down here, all you have to do is simply go to each room and use the console. Well, if only it was that simple ... you get a cutscene when you reach the third console. ~ Objective: Kill General Salvador ~ Final boss time! A lot of people also had difficulty with this one, but he doesn't really have an easy trick like his gunship did. As soon as you start, begin pumping Incendiary Shotgun rounds into him. He'll charge up an "orb" attack - do your best to jetpack and jump around to dodge this. After dodging a few orbs, he'll do a ground pound move - as much as I've tried, I still can't find a way to dodge this. It seems to do less damage if you're far away though. It does a lot of damage and knocks you back. Right after he does this for the first time, 2 enemies with Missile Launchers show up on other side of this circular room. Kill one but NOT the other, because they just respawn eventually if you do this. Kill one and try to stay on this side of the room. Keep using your Shotgun on Salvador. Eventually, he'll kneel down and say something about rebooting the system. Go in close and press A to tear off a core. After doing this, he knocks you backwards. Go on the offensive now. Stay fairly close to Salvador, don't let him regen armour or shields. He'll do that knockback attack again but as long as no enemies are nearby, and you keep dodging the orbs well, you're safe. As long as you're very offensive and aggressive here, this fight actually becomes easier (well, that coupled with you only killing one infantry). You can just keep his armour down the whole time. Grapple when you get the chance, of course. munchmagic86 says: On the last level when you are against General Salvador one trick I found was to have proximity detpacks and lay them in his path or just throw them directly at him, doing this mixed with your shotgun idea I destroyed him with zero problems Ripping out the final core starts a cutscene. Congrats, you've finished the Campaign of Section 8: Prejudice! See Level 6 for walkthrough of this level. ==================================================----------------------[ACH04] = Use More Gun (10G) = = Defeat the Vehicle Engineer in the Prejudice = = level of the Campaign before he deploys a mech = ================================================== This can be gained during the last level of the campaign (see level 8 for a more detailed description of exactly when you can get it). This can be tricky to gain on Hard, but not impossible. You can always replay the level later on Easy to get it. A checkpoint is right before you fight him so you can retry as much as you like. What I did was basically charge him with my Shotgun, since it's the best chance of killing him quickly if you get real close. If you're lucky, he'll jump off the front of the balcony to the ground in front of you, so you can attack him without being bothered. It should be noted that if you here him say "Mech deploying", you can still get the achievement - it's only when the mech actually lands that you have to retry. ==================================================----------------------[ACH05] = Mission Accomplished 2.0 (10G) = = Complete the Campaign on any difficulty = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Aegis Armor ~ Self-explanatory. Obviously just follow the walkthrough and you'll get it. ==================================================----------------------[ACH06] = Battle-Hardened (15G) = = Complete the Campaign on Hard difficulty = ================================================== Self-explanatory. The walkthrough was created while playing on Hard so it should be of use for this difficulty. Experiment with different loadouts as the situation demands and you'll do fine. The toughest parts are generally the few boss battles towards the end. === General Task Achievements === These achievements can be gained in any applicable mode, and are cumulative across these modes. For example, you can get 3 kills with the AA turret while playing Online Conquest, then get 7 more while playing Offline Conquest and you'll pop the achievement. ==================================================----------------------[ACH07] = Knife to Meet You (5G) = = Fatality an enemy with the Knife = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Knife - Siphon Knife ~ This can be gained in any mode. Normally, fatalities can be pulled off when your enemy has no shields and also (I believe) more health then a normal knife hit would take off. You perform them by holding RB with the knife equipped. It's easiest to get this achievement during the Campaign, since the game sets up and enemy for your to fatality in the second level, Into the Breach (see level 2.) ==================================================----------------------[ACH08] = Spice of Life (10G) = = Kill an enemy with each weapon type = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Beacons - Jammer Beacon ~ Simply get a single kill, whether against AIs or human players, with every main weapon. You will no doubt get this just by playing through the Campaign or Conquest if you modify your loadouts a bit. The weapons are: - Assault Rifle - Machine Gun - Shotgun - Sniper Rifle - Pistol - Pulse Cannon - Missile Launcher ==================================================----------------------[ACH09] = I'm the Juggernaut ... (5G) = = Kill an enemy by colliding with them while = = Overdriving = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Tools: Siphon Tool ~ Another achievement that is still possible on Hard, but better attempted on a lower difficulty. Both due to you'll be able to take more bullets, but enemies have less health so it's easier to get the kill. Obviously, you just have to Overdrive into and enemy and do enough damage to kill them. They need to have taken some amount of damage before hand, usually. You can get this in Campaign in a few places. If on Easy, try getting in in the very first level (Answers - level 1) on the enemies that are out on the roads in the beginning. I personally got it during level 5, when the enemies are scripted to retreat from you. Just fire some shots into their back and Overdrive to catch up. ==================================================----------------------[ACH10] = 'Til it Goes Click (5G) = = Kill 3 enemies in a row with the Machine Gun = = without reloading = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Machine Gun - EMP Rounds ~ In Campaign, you first get the Machine Gun in level 3. So you can try to get the 3 kills soon after this. It obviously has a big magazine so it's not too hard to get. If you're still having trouble, try setting up an Offline Conquest game with Trivial bots, they'll have little health so you'll be able to tear through them easily. ==================================================----------------------[ACH11] = Falling with Style (10G) = = Kill an enemy by dropping on them = ================================================== When doing an orbital drop, you have two brakes - soft (orange) and hard (red). You need to brake in the red, or even not brake at all, in almost all cases to get a kill. Brake in the red is your best bet so you can manouever towards your target. This one is a bit tricky. Your enemies tend to move a lot, and furthermore sometimes you hit them but "slide" off to the side and it doesn't give you the achievement (but you'll still get the Feat for an impact kill). I got this one by starting an Offline Swarm game on Whiteout, Trivial bots. Head south around the right side of the base in front of the CP. There is a large cliff jutting upwards in front of you. Enemies will spawn behind and to the right of this large rock, coming down the hill beside it. I got a few kills till I had $20, then placed a Sensor Array. Either let yourself die or suicide (whether by weapons or by pausing, going to "Tacnet", then "Self-Destruct". I waited until enemies showed up on the radar past the large rock described above. I spawned in as they got close to it. They would come down past the rock, turn to the right and just sit there shooting at it to destroy it. I actually had 3 sitting duck targets, I hit one the first time and got the achievement. Let me know if this is a viable, repeatble strategy or if you have any strategies yourself. ==================================================----------------------[ACH12] = Duck Hunt (5G) = = Kill 10 enemies with the deployable AA turret = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Assault Rifle - Automation Mod ~ The AA turret can only be deployed in Conquest and Assault (?). It costs $40. It is automatic, so you have to place one and have get 10 cumulative kills with them. This is much easier offline, because AIs aren't quite as smart as humans (usually). Save up for an AA, then just place it in a good spot. Try sneaking close to an enemy base and dropping one nearby. Or try putting one in the half-way point betweens CPs, since then you will cover the maximum air space. Finally, it's always a good idea to place one at your own base if the base's own AA has been destroyed (feel free to place one if it hasn't been destroyed, but it may steal your AA's kills). ==================================================----------------------[ACH13] = Money in the Banana Stand (15G) = = Purchase every Vehicle and Deployable = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Grenade - EMP Grenade ~ Like the others this is across all game modes, but the only modes where you can call in every type of vehicle/deployable are Conquest and Assault (?). For example, AA turrets and Tanks cannot be bought in Swarm mode. Simply get enough money by killing enemies, helping out the team, etc. then buy all of them at least once. Make sure to not call them in where an enemy AA turret covers or you risk it being destroyed before landing. Sensor Array - $20 (Note: Can also be purchased in Campaign) Supply Depot - $20 Minigun Turret - $40 Missile Turret - $40 Anti-Air Turret - $40 Spectre Hover Bike - $100 (Note: Can also be purchased in Campaign) Beserker Mech - $100 Ragnarok Heavy Tank - $180 ==================================================----------------------[ACH14] = Get to da Choppa (10G) = = Survive against the Elimination DCM = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Shotgun - Concussion Rounds ~ The Elimination DCM occurs in Conquest, to get this achievement the enemy team must activate against your team. When this happens, they must kill everyone on your team at least once to accomplish the DCM. For your team to win, at least one person must not die for the entire time limit shown in the top right. For this achievement, you have to be one of the people who survives. A few notes: You can do this in offline or online. While playing offline, it may be easier to obtain since the AI should come to your aid - especially if you're the last player not yet killed. Keep in mind that you are automatically shown to the enemy team on their map/mini-map, so they will be hunting you down. As far as I know, jammer beacons will still make enemies not able to lock on to you which will help. A good team will make this a lot easier, since you can fortify and back each other up. Check your map, sometimes your team will all go to a spot (usually a control point) and defend everyone there, so head over if you see this happening. If you have friends with the game, consider playing together and helping out if you're on the same team. Overall the best idea is to stay back in your base which hopefully will have some turrets and such to protect you (and of course you can put down your own). Also, if you have the cash you can buy a vehicle which will increase the damage you can take. I personally did this while running around in a mech, I made sure to stick near my teammates and friendly buildings. === Swarm/Conquest/Assault Achievements === These achievements can be gained in the 3 multiplayer modes. Some can be gained in all, while others can only be gained in a specific mode. I will detail what modes apply to each achievement in the description. (I was going to divide it up into each mode, but this got a little confusing with some of the achievements). Please note any achievement with "Ranked matches" in the description can obviously only be gained/worked on in Ranked matches. You need 2 human players for a Swarm match to be ranked, and 4 human players for Conquest/Assault. ==================================================----------------------[ACH15] = Citronell Armor (15G) = = Win a complete game of Swarm without dying on = = Medium or harder difficulty = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Pistol - Concussion Rounds ~ Obviously, you'd be insane to try and do this on anything but Medium. You must survive the entire 15 minute match without dying. While it seems daunting, this is perfectly possible solo, and is how I did it. I will detail my strategy below. This is most likely easier online with humans, however - the more the better, if they're competent. You can either hope randoms will be good enough or find some friends or an online group to help you out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is my solo strategy. It's a bit luck based, but certainly possible - it took me 4 tries. From the main menu, go to Swarm > Offline > Select Medium Difficulty, and for your map choose Whiteout. Start the game, then go to your loadouts. You can play around a bit if you want, but here is what I recommend (some of this stuff will need to be unlocked): Sniper Rifle - Frag Rounds Assault Rifle - Automaton Mod Riot Mortar Repair Tool Standard Armor +2 Tungsten Coating, +2 Gyro Stabilizer, +4 Composite Plating, +2 Repair Field Start the game, drop down and hack the control point. Now look north, facing away from the base, and you should see a set of crates on the ground (2 big, 1 small). This is going to be your own personal defense spot. Go behind them. The general idea is you can hide behind them, peek out around both sides to watch the left and right flanks, as well as crouch in the middle to see enemies going through your base. Use your sniper and start taking out enemies as the come, the use your riot mortar to on groups (try to aim where they're moving too, not where they are unless they're obviously sitting still). As soon as you have $20, place a supply depot right behind the crates with you - make sure it's close enough that it will be resupplying you when you're hiding behind them. Keep fighting as normal, your AI teammates aren't amazing but they should be decent enough that you'll survive. Watch out for enemies come over the hills on the left and right, and enemies going on top of your base. When you get $100, you can buy a mech. While it presents a bigger target, the extra firepower and protection is helpful. The biggest thing you need to know about it is GET OUT if it's taking too much damage, because A) you'll drop out with full personal health and B) you can repair it with your repair tool. You can also stand near supply depots (or jump out of it, leaving it beside one) and it will be automatically repaired. When you get more cash, make sure to jump out and put down rocket turrets (they cost $40). You only get 2, so place one on either side. Make sure to put them far enough out that they'll shoot at targets on the hills - while putting them behind cover will keep the turrets safe, it won't keep you safe. Other tips: - When enemy mechs show up, don't let them get to close to you - they can pull off the instant kill fatality just like you can. You can try to risk pulling it off yourself, but it's safer to move away from them, shooting and letting the turrets help you out. - You can also repair friendly buildings - and even your teammates using your repair tool. Make sure to do so in the small downtimes between waves. - Don't focus too much on the DCMs, most of them aren't worth the trouble. The only one worth noting is the VIP mission, because if you succeed the VIP stays and acts as an extra bot to help you out (he fights and can defuse the control point too). He has more health and shields, but also doesn't regenerate as quickly, so make sure to use your repair tool on him. As mentioned, it's a bit luck based but very possible. Practice and you'll eventually get better at the little details. ==================================================----------------------[ACH16] = Exterminator (10G) = = Win a game on each map in Swarm on Hard or = = Insane difficulty = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Detpacks - Proximity Pack ~ Again, no reason to make this any harder - you'll want to do it on Hard. This achievement is possible, but difficult and annoying to do solo. It's highly recommened to do it in co-op - I personally managed to get it just joining random matches (you can search by difficulty), but of course if you have friends with the game or find an online group it will be that much easier. Smart loadout and deployable use is the name of the game. Don't try to tackle this right off the bat, you need practice with the ins and outs of the game first. Try playing on lower difficulties to find out the best spot for each deployable on the maps. Don't just put out minigun turrets - remember bikes and mechs show up too, and they are the main reason why you lose at Swarm. So put down missile turrets in nice open spots, if possible only put them up when the enemy vehicles actually appear. Here are some good spots I've found (feel free to message me your own ideas): Zephyr: - Turrets can be placed close to the CP on the bottom ledge of the staircase, and the small ledge jutting out on the side with the waterfall. The staircase one is subseptible to enemy fire though, while the ledge one not so much. - You can also put deployables on some of the roof edges (but not all due to the floating structure above), they will be helpful but will probably get destroyed somewhat quickly. Prometheus: - Directly behind the CP, on the side closest to the lava river (the only side no enemies come from), try putting a minigun behind the crates so that it's got a clear line of view to the CP. May get destroyed eventually but it will cover the CP very well. - You can also put turrets right under the cliff faces on the opposite side. Reason is so they're sheltered from some amount of fire, and enemies will jump off the cliff race right into the line of fire. Whiteout: - In general you want to put your miniguns close to the CP, behind the base if possible. Otherwise they'll be blowing up a lot. With a nice defense of them, very little will be able to get close to the CP. - Missile turrets should be a bit more out in the open usually, near the two domes off to the side. This is so they can start taking out vehicles as soon as they appear. Eden: - Try putting minigun turrets right in front of the doorways to the elevators. Two reasons: they'll block enemies from exiting the elevators (but make sure to kill the enemy before they blow your turret up), and they have a nice line of view of the CP for when enemies try to hack it. - Another good idea is to put a missile turret on the CP platform right near the large elevator that mechs use to get up. It can be very annoying when they do this, so it's good to have the turret to distract them as soon as they get to the top. ==================================================----------------------[ACH17] = Loud Cartographer (10G) = = Win a ranked match in each map group in = = Conquest = ================================================== By "map group", they mean that each of the 4 main maps is split into smaller versions when there a less people - these versions contain less Control Points. So for this achievement, you only need to win once on any version of the map - for example, if you win on Eden - West you don't need to win on the full version for the purposes of this achievement. Here are the 4 maps. Just keep playing and you're bound to get this, especially if you're working towards level 50/all 32 badges. - Eden (Circular map with rocky terrain) - Whiteout (Snow map) - Zephyr (Map with those big floaty things above some CPs) - Prometheus (Lava map) ==================================================----------------------[ACH18] = Mission Possible (15G) = = Participate in each DCM successfully in ranked = = matches = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Pulse Cannon - EMP Rounds ~ DCMs, or Dynamic Combat Missions, are "mini-missions" that happen in Conquest. They are activated by an individual player getting enough "feat points" by accomplshing feats. The game gives you a heads up when a DCM is starting. For this achievement, I am not 100% sure but I believe it is referring to only DCMs YOUR team has activated. It is also a bit dubious what "participate" means, but I'm fairly certain that simply being on the team that wins a DCM is good enough. Of course, it's always a good idea to help your team win DCMs anyways. There are 9 DCMs. You can increase the likelyhood of a DCM showing up by selecting it in the DCM menu as a favourite. This applies to when you yourself activate a DCM, it will choose one of your favourites if applicable. You can also read some more details about each DCM in that menu. - Airstrike For this DCM, a marker will appear at one of your friendly bases. Someone on your team must take it to a designated spot near an enemy base. Simply running over the spot with the marker is enough. Once this is done, the enemy team has 15 seconds to stand near the marker and disarm it. Make sure to protect the marker carrier if it's not you, and make sure you fight tooth and nail during those 15 seconds so no one disarms it. - Intelligence The Intelligence is an item that will appear at an enemy base. Someone must pick it up, and transport it to a designated spot at a friendly base. If the carrier is kill, the enemy team must stand near and recover the Intelligence to return it to the base. Either be a good carrier/protect the carrier all the way home, or you can "leapfrog" it by getting a good distance before dying. - Convoy A convoy vehicle beacon will appear on the map and your team must activate it. You can actually lose right away if you don't use the beacon in time. Otherwise, someone on your team must drive the convoy - it has two seats, both with weapons - to a designated spot. Either drive it or do your best to defend it - a Repair Tool will be very handy. - Infiltrator A special pod will appear at one of your bases with the Infiltrator suit inside. You or another must use this pod to put on the suit (it has a specific loadout, with more armour but it doesn't regenerate automatically) and then your team - it doesn't have to be the Infiltrator specifically - has to capture a specific enemy CP. Keep in mind the enemy can do 3 things: sabotage the suit before it's used, kill the infiltrator, or simply defend the specific CP. Try your best to defend the infiltrator and work with your team to get the CP. - Jammer A large Jammer Array will appear somewhere on the map. Check your map/minimap to find out where it's heading. The enemy can hack this Jammer to make it their own - to win, you need to make sure it's still in your teams hands at the end of the time limit. Defending it with minigun and an AA turret, as well as straight up combat, is the way to win - hopefully with your team helping you out. - Outpost This is somewhat similar to the Jammer mission. It must be activated with a beacon like the Convoy. The Outpost will drop - it acts like an AA turret so usually you don't have to worry about enemies dropping right near it. Just stay near it, watching out for enemies that will use missile launchers long range. You can put Supply Depots right beside it to auto-heal it, just like other deployables. - Recover Very simple. A number of recoverable items will appear, spread out over the map - the number depends on how many people are in the game. Your team must spread out and recover each one by standing near and activating it. You've got to be speedy because all the enemy has to do is defend a single item and you lose. -Elimination Your entire team will be marked on the enemies mini-map, and they must kill each of you at least once before time is up. Please see "Get to da Choppa" in the achievement guide for more details on how to survive. -VIP A friendly bot will be dropped onto the map. You must escort the VIP to a CP (the CP isn't marked, he just makes his way there). This one is a bit tough, as if the enemy already has deployables set up by the time you get to the VIP, he's probably screwed. Try to get there first and escort him, you can use your Repair Tool to heal him (he doesn't auto-regen) which will help a lot. ==================================================----------------------[ACH19] = Like a Boss (15G) = = Reach level 50 in ranked matches = ================================================== You need to reach level 50 from gaining XP in ranked matches of Conquest, Swarm or Assault. Level 50 is halfway from top level - Level 100, for those bad at math - and takes (I believe) 14,800 XP. Conquest is definitely your main XP earned. You don't get the amount of XP shown on the leaderboard in Swarm - you only get a fraction, I believe it's a quarter. There's no big secret or trick way of getting this. Just play, play, play. It personally took me around 15 hours of Conquest playtime to unlock this. Find a loadout you like, figure out each map and how to use it to you advanatage, and always try to be a team player. As of now, the game might be difficult to boost due to randoms joining your server and such. But if you are adamant about boosting, here are some ideas you can try. Thanks to munchmagic86 for sending some of these in. - Set up a server with bots (they must be at least Medium for ranked) and you can farm kills, since they are predictable. I have heard this is used to boost for kills and other stats by players, but I do not know the exact parameters. - Simply set up an AA turret and have the other team take off all armour/shield increasing upgrades and fly into them, to receive Auto Kill points. - Deploy several Supply Depots close together, and have a member of the other team place a rocket turret a short distance away. Not too close or they'll destroy the depots before they can heal themselves. You could always try shooting them with rockets, but of course this isn't automatic. This method gets you Auto Heal points. ==================================================----------------------[ACH20] = 32 Pieces of Flair (15G) = = Earn each Badge in ranked matches = ================================================== ~ Unlocks: Sniper Rifle - Rapid Fire Mod ~ For this achievement, you need to unlock all 32 badges during ranked matches. Each badge needs to be done in a single game, but unlike Feats, you can get them across multiple lives (so you can kill 3 players with Equipment, die, respawn, and kill 5 more and you will get the "Specialist" badge). You can see what badges you have and which ones you need by going to the Dropship from the main menu, then choosing "Awards". You need to be online to check which ones you have. Many of the badges require certain DCMs to be active. You can choose your favourite DCMs in the Dropship menu to make them appear when you activate a DCM, but some also require the enemy team to activate certain DCMs which is pretty luck based if you're not boosting. ~~ Combat Badges ~~ -- Infantry Assault -- Kill 3 target players in the Elimination DCM The Elimination DCM tasks your team with killing all of the enemy team members before time runs out. They become marked and visible on your minimap for the duration. This one is pretty easy - since you know exactly where they are, try to sneak up and get the drop on them. Just be quick and get 3 kills before your teammates kill everyone else. -- Specialist -- Kill 8 players with Equipment You can choose 2 pieces of Equipment with every loadout, they are selected with left and right on the D-pad and you use RB to use them. You can use whatever Equipment you're best with, I personally find Detpacks and Mortars the best for straight up kills. Detpacks can be used to place traps and mortars can easily get kills on far away enemies if you're also in a firefight with them. The Siphon tool is also very easy to get kills with and you can increase it with the Enginerring Interface upgrade. -- Marksman -- Kill 20 players with Weapons You get 2 weapons with every loadout, so you just need to pick the ones you're best with and be a bit aggressive. I personally find the Machine Gun is a good all around weapon as it can be used at a fairly decent distance as well. Remember you can upgrade the damage weapons do with certain upgrades, so consider making an "aggressive" loadout based around doing a lot of damage. -- Anti-Vehicular Combat -- Destroy 3 Vehicles Enemy players can call in mechs, bikes and tanks when they have enough cash. You need to destroy 3 of them for this one (I am unsure whether the convoy counts as a vehicle). Obviously, making a loadout with a Missile Launcher, Detpacks, Mortars, anti-vehicle weapons mods, and explosive damage increasing upgrades is the best bet. This one is actually probably easier in a match you're losing since the other team will have lots of cash to spend on vehicles. -- Vehicular Combat -- Kill 8 players with Vehicle weapons You can call in a mech or bike if you have $100 and a tank if you have $180. The tank is the obvious choice but you may be more proficient with the mech or bike, they can all be used well. The mech is great close combat but can be taken down pretty easily from afar. The bike can close the distant quick and can run over enemies as well. The tank is slower but very powerful and tough. Which map you're on will matter as well. Generally, being on a good team will make this easier. -- Point Offense -- Get 6 Offenses Offense kills are gained when you kill an enemy while you are fairly close to an enemy CP (I believe you may have to be hacking it as well). You tend to get these while playing aggressive and attack CPs a lot, so which map you're on matters a lot - try and go for it when you're on a map you're comfortably being offensive on. One CP I personally got a high number of Offense kills on for this very badge was the north CP in Prometheus, it's in a building and there's a little area behind it between the cliff side. You can hide behind the building and pop out to kill people near the CP. -- Retaliation -- Get 4 Avenges You get an Avenge kill when you kill an enemy shortly after they have killed one of your teammate. Honestly, this badge is very easy and you will probably get it many times over your S8:P career. Just be a team player instead of a lone wolf and you'll get this in no time. -- Squad Tactics -- Get 8 Assisted Kills with your squadmates An Assist Kill is when you inflict a good amount of damage on an enemy, but one of your squadmates gets the final blow before you. This is another fairly easy badge that you will probably get with little trouble. But you can try to stop yourself from killing the enemy outright when you have a teammate shooting them as well, and then they'll get the kill and you'll get the Assist. Just stick near your squadmates (light blue on your radar). ~~ Conquest Badges ~~ -- Distinguished Service -- Finish with one of the top 3 Scores in a game with 12 or more players Not much else to say for this one other than play your best. Use your favourite loadout and participate in a lot of DCMs for more points. If you're on a good team, you should be able to soar to the top and there's a little leeway anyways. -- Enduring Service -- Complete a game (must have been in 50% of the game) Simply complete a Conquest match after being in more than 50% of it. So you'll get this one all the time. -- Honorable Service -- Finish a game with the highest Teamwork score of your team Doing things such as repairing, getting assists, capturing CPs, and helping out with DCMs increase your teamwork score. Try to focus on these things and a little less on the killing and it won't be too hard. -- Battlefield Victory -- Win a game with your team (must be in 50% of the game) Best best it to be in a match from the start for this one. You win Conquest by getting 1000 victory points before the opposing team, indicated by the bar in the top of the screen. Having more CPs capture than the other team is the main way of gaining victory points, but DCMs are also very important so don't forget to do them. -- Conquer -- Capture 3 Control Points You hack a CP by going up to the console in the center and press A. Then you need to defend it from enemies until the hack is done to capture it. It must be YOU who initiates the hack, but having teammates around will obviously make this a lot easier. Try to find spots you can hide and ambush enemies as the approach the CP. Also, having the jamming beacon is nice so enemies don't know where you are. -- Objective Support -- Assist in the Capture of 2 Control Points Very simple - you get a Capture assist by being near the CP after another teammate has hacked it. Stay there for the duration and if they capture it, you'll get an assist. -- Guardian -- Get 8 Defenses or Denials A Defense Kill is when you kill an enemy while he is close to one of your team's CPs. A Denial is when you kill an enemy who is actively hacking the control point. Defense are easier to come by, just stick near one of your CPs and defend it. Maybe drop some turrets or just try to ambush them as they come near by hiding around corners. -- Sapper -- Hack 6 Control Points This is a bit easier than it sounds, because you only need to HACK the CPs, not capture. Run to a CP, hack it, then book it to the next CP and repeat the process. If someone stops your hack, you can go back an re-hack it and it counts as another hack. ~~ Mission Badges ~~ -- Jammer -- Recapture your lost Sensor and hold it in a successful DCM This one is fairly specific. You need to have your team start the Jammer mission (so the Jammer is yours to begin with), have an enemy hack it for their team, and then you have to hack it back and win the DCM. You need to be the LAST person who hacks it back to your side, if it keeps going back and forth and another teammate is the last one to hack it, it won't count. I've read that you can also hack an enemy Jammer and hold it for this badge, but cannot confirm it. -- Air Assault -- Successfully call in an Airstrike in a DCM For the Airstrike DMC, a few points will appear on your map. One is the beacon, which you need to pick up, and the others are airstrikes points which are always in front of enemy CPs. You need to grab the beacon and sprint to one of the points, try to go for the one with the least resistance and just book it there. The more CPs the enemy has, the more airstrike points, so you may get lucky and find an airstrike point close to the beacon. -- Espionage -- Return the Intelligence in a DCM This one is quite similar to the Airstrike DCM, except there's only one point to drop off the Intelligence and you don't get a big boom afterwards. The Intelligence is marked with a briefcase icon on your map/radar, you need to grab it and run it over to the marked drop off, hopefully with some help from your teammates. -- Search and Recovery -- Recover 2 pieces of wreckage in the Recover DCM The Recover DCM involves a number of wreckage pieces, usually about 9, appearing around the map. Your team needs to collect them all before time runs out, so for this badge you need to be fast and get 2 of them yourself. When you get to them, hold and while on top of the wreckage to recover it. You can either try to get the "safe" ones near your bases before your team does, or go for the more risky ones - there will be less teammates, but possibly more enemies. -- Interception -- Destroy the Convoy in a DCM When the Convoy DCM starts, a location will be marked where the enemy Convoy will be landing. If you can, get there before they do and put down missile turrets and an AA turret. After it lands, enemies can get in and drive it/use its weapons. You need to use turrets and your weapons to destroy it and get the final blow. This one is a bit luck based, since half your team tends to end up firing on it. -- Special Ops -- Kill the Infiltrator in a DCM When the other team activates this DCM, a suit of armor appears at one of their bases. One of them has to grab the suit and become the Infiltrator, at which point their whole team is tasked with capturing a specific one of your teams CPs, before time runs out and without letting the Infiltrator die. The Infiltrator gets greatly increased health/shields, and gets a pre-definied loadout. So you'll either need a number of teammates to attack him and hope you'll get the final blow, since you'll almost certainly die 1v1 - or you can attack him with a mech using melee, it's pretty effective. The Infiltrator appears as a helmet on the map/radar. -- Outpost Raze -- Destroy the Outpost in a DCM When the other team activates this DCM, they will get a Outpost dropped in at a marked spot on the map. It acts as a Supply Depot and an AA turret, so you won't be able to drop on top of it. You can basically use the same tactics as for the "Interception" badge. Using a Missile Launcher from long range also works well, since the enemy team will probably drop a lot of turrets/depots near the Outpost and you can blow them all up. -- Assassination -- Kill the VIP in a DCM The VIP is an bot who appears on the map and has to travel to a certain CP. He appears as shield on the map. He has increased health and shields, but he only used a pistol and his health does not regenerate, so he relies on his team to heal him. Either take him on as a team and hope to get the killing blow, or use a vehicle to take him out. ~~ Tactics Badges ~~ -- Demolitionist -- Destroy 6 Supply Depots, Sensor Arrays, or AA Turrets This one is easy if you're specifically going for it. Choose a loadout with a Missile Launcher and Mortar, both the anti-structure variants, and the approptiate upgrades. The easiest targets for this DCM are the ones that are at every CP, since they don't belong to any of the players, there's a lower chance someone will be protective of them. Fire at them from a distance and move on to the next enemy CP (the base structures also regenerate after a while). -- Circumvent Defenses -- Destroy 8 Minigun or Missile Turrets See "Demolitionist" above, this one is very similar. -- Security Automation -- Kill 4 players with Turrets Another very easy badge that you will probably get millions of. They key is to know where to place your turrets. Obviously, putting them in the middle of an open field is a bad idea. Try to find points where enemies travel through a lot, and place the turrets around the corner so they run into them. You can also place them on building to have a height advantage, and also place supply depots next to them so they will be auto healed (and heal them yourself if you have the Repair Tool on you). In general, placing turrets to defend CPs will get you lots of kills. -- Intelligence Network -- Deploy 3 Sensor Arrays Incredibly easy, but if you're like me you'll never get this one in normal play since I rarely place Sensor Arrays. What they do is highlight nearby enemies on the radar. Just save up $20 for a Sensor Array and drop it somewhere, advantage, repeat 2 more times for the badge. -- Supplier -- Deploy 4 Supply Depots Supply Depots give you/your team ammo, heal you/them, lets you/them change your loadout, and they also heal vehicles and other structures if they're close enough. They're $20 each, so just save up enough money and place 4 in one match. -- Engineered Defense -- Deploy 4 Turrets Another easy one, since your turrets will most likely get blown up eventually and you'll have to replace them. Both Minigun Turrets and Rocket Turrets are $20, so save up and drop 'em. You'll get this no problem just by defending CPs and doing certain DCMs. -- Repair Automation -- Get 20 Auto Repairs When a Supply Depot is very close to another structure, it will automatically repair it, if it gets damaged. You can easy place one next to your own structure or next to someone elses. Just keep placing them near structures, especially ones that will get attacked by enemies sooner or later, and the 20 Auto Repairs will come quick. -- Field Medic -- Get 16 Repairs You'll need the Repair Tool in your loadout for this one. You can repair both teammates and structures with it. Just run around repairing everything you see. Your radar/map will show different icons for structures and players that need repairing, plus you get an audio clip when there are nearby structures/ players in need of repair. ==================================================----------------------[ACH18] === Overdrive Map Pack Achievements === These are the 3 achievements tied to the Overdrive Map Pack. It contains two new maps, Abaddon and Sky Dock, and costs 320 MSP ($4). ==================================================----------------------[ACH21] = I Feel Like Lightning (20G) = = Hack a Control Point within 30 seconds in = = Assault. Requires Overdrive Map Pack. = ================================================== Very easy. Set up an Offline game on any map you like. Make sure to hit X in map selection so you can play on the large version (thus the enemy team will be more spread out) and set bots to Trivial. Change the player count to 8 so you have less enemies defending. Start up the game. It's random in Assault whether you start as attackers or defenders. If you do start as defenders, quickly switch to the other team by pressing Y before spawning, then selecting the other team. Now, just use your best assault class to charge a base - you can scout out which one has low opposition before the game starts. Make sure your class has a Jammer beacon, it's invaluable for quickly attacking bases. You just have to hack it, so stay near the CP even if you're being attacked. Achievement may take a few seconds to unlock. ==================================================----------------------[ACH22] = Lord of Avernus (10G) = = Win a ranked match on Abaddon. Requires = = Overdrive Map Pack. = ================================================== Pretty self-explanatory. You can do this in Conquest or Assault. Do a Custom search for a ranked game on Abaddon, or just search for ranked games and go through the server list until you spot one (servers are labelled if they have DLC in the map rotation). You can also just wait and hope you play the map in normal online play. Once you're in the game, obviously do your best - and hope your teammates are competent! Otherwise, you'll need 2 friends or boosting partners. Set up a game and have everyone join. Then just let one team win until everyone has the achievement. ==================================================----------------------[ACH23] = Ball Hog (20G) = = Capture 20 Control Points in Assault. = = Requires Overdrive Map Pack. = ================================================== You can either just get this through normal play any maps. Try to always be the person getting into bases and hacking them. Otherwise, here's how to set up games to get this. Set up an Offline game on any map you like, I would use the new maps just for variety. Make sure to hit X in map selection so you can play on the large version (thus more points to capture), and set bots to Trivial. Leave the player amount as 16 (you'll see why in a second). Start up the game. It's random in Assault whether you start as attackers or defenders. If you do start as defenders, quickly switch to the other team by pressing Y before spawning, then selecting the other team. As always, use a good assault class with a Jammer beacon. Drop in and start attacking and hacking CPs. You also need to capture it, so defend them to the best of your abilities. Once you've captured one, move on to another. A few notes. Your teammates may capture CPs as you're busy at another one, this doesn't count for this achievement but you can't really stop it so don't worry. If possible, let the enemies defuse it, then hack it yourself. Once your team has 3 of the CPs, the enemy team goes into sudden death - after you kill an enemy one more time, he can't respawn for this round anymore. This is why you left it as a 16 player game, otherwise you'd quickly wipe out the team and this ends the round immediately. According to the patch notes for the June 1st title update, if you win by killing all the defenders, you still get credit for capture a CP. I would assume this only counts if you were in the process of capturing a CP and the round ends. Once the round is over, quit out of the game and simply start a new one, repeating the steps above. === Frontier Colonies Map Pack Achievements === These are the 3 achievements tied to the Frontier Colonies Map Pack. It contains twonew maps, Overseer and Desolation, and costs 320 MSP ($4). ==================================================----------------------[ACH24] = Shutout (20G) = = Complete a turn without losing a Control Point = = in Assault. Requires Frontier Colonies Map = = Pack. = ================================================== Start up and offline game of Assault, with Trivial bots and 16 players. You can use any map, but playing on a small map is obviously recommended. I personally used Abaddon - North, I find it a very easy map to defend. When you start the game, if you happen to be on the attacking team, hit Y and switch to the defenders. Now drop in, you start with $40 so you can put down a turret at a base - try to put it close to the Control Point - or you could also put an AA turret out a bit far from the base so that you funnel the enemies into more favourable areas. Now you just have to defend the two points, a good idea is to stay near the middle of the map so that you can quickly run to either side if one gets hacked. Find a high up spot so you can see more of the playing field and take out enemies before they even get close to your bases. Make it 5 minutes without losing either CP and the achievement will pop after the round (it may take a few seconds to unlock). ==================================================----------------------[ACH25] = Watchful Eye (15G) = = Win a ranked match on Overseer. Requires = = Frontier Colonies Map Pack. ==================================================----------------------[ACH26] = Desolator (15G) = = Win a ranked match on Desolation. Requires = = Frontier Colonies Map Pack. = ================================================== See above, except this time for Desolation obviously. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Unlock List*** [UNL00] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a list of every item and upgrade that can be unlocked. You can view this info yourself by going to the Main Menu > Dropship > Unlocks. There are 46 items to be unlocked. Items are unlocked in 3 ways: Achievements: Some unlocks are tied to getting a certain achievement. You can view solutions on how to unlock each achievement in the Achievement Guide above. Leveling: Playing in ranked matches of Swarm, Conquest or Assault gets you XP. Gain enough XP to increase your level, which in turn unlocks an item. Stars: Stars are gained by playing Swarm, Conquest, and Assault in Offline mode. There are 3 stars available on each small map - medium and full maps do not gain you stars. You gain 1 star for clearing a map on Easy, 2 for Medium, 3 for Hard. Insane does not gain you any extra stars (though it makes the 3 stars gold coloured). Note: Any item that can be unlocked with Stars can also been unlocked through leveling up. Stars will be referred to with an asterisk * in the below charts. Stars Available: Campaign: 24 (8 levels) Conquest: 24 (4 maps x 2 variants) 48 with DLCs (4 extra maps x 2 variants) Swarm : 12 (4 maps) 24 with DLCs (4 extra maps) Assault : 24 (4 maps x 2 variants) 48 with DLCs (4 extra maps x 2 variants) Total : 84 without DLCs 144 with DLCs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Unlocks by Level*** [UNL01] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are the unlocks sorted by level.
