• September 27th, 2004 - Submitted FAQ
    • Version 1.0

  • September 30th, 2004 - Added Q&A; Added more secrets. 32 kb
    • Version 1.1

  • May 19th, 2012 - Started work on reformatted version...8 years later. lol
    • Version 1.5

  • May 20th, 2012 - Submitted reformatted version.
    • Version 2.0

  • May 22nd, 2012 - Fairly big update. Around 80% size increase to FAQ size (just under 60kb). Mainly worked on FAQ structure and fleshing out FAQ. Structure and Formatting are the biggest time sinks. Added "Items available in this area", which I think is immensely helpful for a person following a FAQ. Made it up to Greatwood Gorge in story.
    • Version 2.1

  • June 7th, 2012 - Small update. Fixed some errors. Changed quite a bit of formatting. Started work on Item tables. You ever think to yourself, "there's just not enough time to play video games"? I sure do.
    • Version 2.2

  • June 10th, 2012 - What?! Did I just totally update the Introduction poem into a Shakespearean Sonnet? Heck yes I did! Mainly worked on Item tables. Tables are now current up to before Greatwood Gorge. Haven't progressed further in the story due to mainly wanting to make sure I get stuff right the first time (or technically second time through, whatever). Added more context to some previous sections. Fixed some statements that were just plain wrong. Fixed a crap-ton of spelling errors. Again, formatting is taking a huge amount of time, but it looks so much nicer. Changed how I breakup my email address. Previously I had it reversed, but since it was clickable, I think it may have been confusing if one were to glance over it. 82.7 kb. Does GFAQs round up or down?
    • Version 2.3

  • July 16th, 2012 - "Down", would be the answer to that question. Added some more text to the item tables. Made it up to the Butterfly House which is just a little past Greatwood Gorge. Added FAQ to Neoseeker.com. Changed email from being broken up to now clickable and added another way to contact me. Does breaking up your email address really affect one's ability to not receiving spam mail? Let's find out. 93kb
    • Version 2.4

Future Updates

  • Faq needs to be fleshed out, badly. Also needs work on structure. A play through is in order.

  • Item (Weapon and Equipment) and enemy appendices could be added.

  • Listing of items at the beginning of each new area could help.

  • Silver Keys locations need to be added.

  • Maybe a section about the "Social Aspect" of the game could be added.

  • Possible section about builds.

  • Demon Door locations.

Introduction

Fable, the epic RPG, or so

It was originally meant to be.

But Peter Molyneux is not your foe,

Though he did hype this more than you or me.

Twelve hours it will take you to finish,

And a linear story it does have.

Finish it, and you will not feel anguish

Remembering the people you did stab.

It is important the Journey you had,

Not the time it took to reach the ending.

Enjoy the fairy tale setting, and sad

You shan't be, as memories are lasting.

So enjoy this FAQ without the filler,

Written by the one, great, NoNameKiller.

Formerly known as NoNameKiller, in case you were wondering why it says this FAQ was written by StuckInMyPants. This is the same account that I've always had, I was just able to change my account name thanks to some policy changes at GameFAQs.

Very Important Notes

  • Clicking the Right Analog stick will zoom in the map, but more importantly, show you the names of the surrounding areas before you zone through. If I don't give explicit directions in the guide, it's because the area is connected to the area you are currently in, so you should be able to find it realtively easy. If the player needs to backtrack through multiple areas, I will generally list which areas the player will need to go through to reach the intended destination. This is probably one of the most useful features. Use it. A lot.

  • I have forgone putting items in the bulk walkthrough, and instead list them at the beginning of each area. This way, the player can read the walkthrough to find the next objective or what to do in a certain situation without a ton of fluff, but the player will still have logical access to item locations as they proceed through the game.

  • After completing quests the player will notice more than one money reward and renown reward. These are the culmination of rewards gained throughout the quest. As such, these numbers are dependent on the actions of the player. One player will probably receive different numbers than other players.

  • Potions that increase your experience (Ages of Might, Ages of Skill, Ages of Will) do so according to the following formula: Experience points gained = 100 x combat multiplier. That means if you just drink it willy nilly, you'll get a piddly 100 points. But if you use Physical shield to your advantage and get your combat multiplier up very high, you can gain a whole lot of points in one go. It's also important to note that in Fable the base points is 100, while in The Lost Chapters the base is 1000. That means if you are playing TLC, the formula is Experience points gained = 1000 x combat multiplier.

  • When you re-enter a area, all of the books, tattoos, and haircuts that you found in bookshelves or the like, will respawn.

  • While this Walkthrough is technically done, there is still a lot of work to do. Hopefully I will have the motivation to work on it for a while. If you have any suggestions, critiques, or just want to say hi, please PM me.

Walkthrough

Important notes about the Walkthrough

  • A (G) beside the quest name means that it is a Main quest. It will be a Gold medallion on your mini-map and in your quest log.

  • A (S) beside the quest name means that it is a Side quest. It will be a Silver medallion on your mini-map and in your quest log.

  • A (B) beside the quest name means that it is a very short Side quest and you won't even be notified that the quest has started or finished. These are less like actual quests and really here for catalouging purposes I guess. It will be a Bronze medallion on your mini-map and in your quest log.

  • In areas with a lot of items, I have listed the items by their item grouping and by their location. I like having the items grouped together by what they are, but I won't deny the usefulness of having the items grouped by their location.

Oakvale

Quest: Birthday Gift (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Get your sister a birthday present.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0

Enter the young hero. It's time to do good deeds so you can buy your sister a birthday present. Your father will reward you with one gold piece for each good deed that you do. Your map is in the top right hand corner and shows each place that you can trigger an event, which is indicated by a green dot. You can press in the right analog stick to get a better view of the map. The flashing gold medallion on your map is where you are supposed to go to complete your current Main Quest. Silver medallions are Side Quests. So, talk to each green dot on the map to find out what you are supposed to do. The closest one is the guy that is behind the building south of where you start.

Now comes your first of many moral decisions. Do you take the gold piece and keep quiet or refuse to take the gold. Hmm...If you are like me then you probably will take the gold piece then go tell his wife. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I love it! That is two gold pieces right there and you only need one more to proceed in the story. So you can either go beat up the bully then return Rosie the Bear to the little girl (which counts as two separate good deeds), or stand in the middle of some boxes while a guy goes to relieve himself....ahem.

An interesting note

  • Inside of your house you can check a bookshelf that will let your read your sisters diary. What implications that are had from these entries are discussed in the next Spoiler box. Read at your own discretion.

Spoiler. Highlight text to view

  • The first entry deals with your mother being away all of the time. Later in the game you find out that she is in fact a Hero.

  • The second entry is foreshadowing the very last part of the game dealing with your sister.

  • The third entry is foreshadowing the main characters home town being burned down on your sisters birthday. Your sister also mentions something about the fields when you first talk to her. She cant remember what is important about them, just that she is standing in them.

  • There is nothing regarding plot devices or foreshadowing in the fourth entry. In fact, it tells you what you already know.

So do your good deeds then talk to your father to receive the gold pieces. After you get the gold, go talk to the trader. You can't miss him, he has the goofy looking 'stache and he's standing in front of the Tavern. Look for the beer mug sign on the building. Now you need to give the chocolates to your sister, who is next to the scarecrow in the Northern Fields. So after talking to her, head out the gate to watch a cutscene. Once over, proceed South across the bridge.

Quest: Guild Training (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Remain at the Guild, learning the abilities you need to graduate as a Hero.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0
  • Items Received
    • Resurrection Phial x2
    • Lamp
    • Health Potion x2
    • Will Potion
    • Apple Pie

As soon as you have control of your character, turn right and go up the stairs. You can search through the bookshelves and guess what you can find? A special Dragon battle!! Oh wait...never mind, it's just the book, Three Haikus by Miko the Bard, oh well...When you walk around, Whisper will inform you of the purpose of each area.

After you are done exploring, head to the Guildmaster, who is standing by the fighting arena. Where's the fighting arena you say? Look at your map and notice the big throbbing Gold Medallion. That's the Guildmaster. Your map always let's you know where to go by the gold medallion. Silver medallions are side quests. After you're done beating up the defenseless dummy, go to the Guild Woods to defeat the beetles.

Quest: Melee Combat Test (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Kill the beetles infesting the Guild Woods.

  • Money Reward: 20
  • Renown Reward: 30

Guild Woods

Beat the Beetles, exit, and watch the cutscene. There's really not much to say here. Youd be hard-pressed to die at this point in the game. Remember, if you are ever having trouble finding where you need to go, look for the throbbing Gold Medallion on the Mini-map.

Heros Guild

Items in this Area (once you advance to your teenage years)

  • Weapons
    • Iron Longsword - Default weapon. Automatically received from starting the Melee test.
    • Yew Longbow - Default weapon. Automatically received from starting the Skill test.
    • Iron Katana - Received from doing the Melee Test after doing the initial tests, but before continuing with Quest: Guild Training (G)
    • Yew Crossbow - Received from doing the Skill Test, same as above.

  • Items
    • Will Potion - Received from doing the Will Test, same as above.
    • Resurrection Phial - Received from doing the Will Test, same as above.

Once back, there are a few extra things you can do before continuing on. First, there is a guy who claims he is the fastest guild member. You can prove him wrong by beating his time of 50 seconds. You must race to the demon door and all the way back to him before time expires. Your reward is just 25 gold. Next, a woman, in the most North East building needs you to bring her four apples to bake a pie. The apples are on the ground in between the Archery Range and the Melee Ring, all relatively close together, and there are a total of five apples, but you only need to collect four. Your reward is a blueberry pie. THE ONLY BLUEBERRY PIE IN THE GAME. Once you are a teenager, and you have access to the bow, you can also kill some sparrows for 5 gold per kill. The guy you need to talk to is standing to the left of the river right about in the middle of the map. Once you're finished, talk to the Guildmaster to progress with the story.

Now you have reached those wonderful pubescent years. You goal is to continue the Quest: Guild Training (G). Head out to the fighting arena again and beat it. Follow the Guildmaster over to the archery range and beat it. Then follow him over by the island so you can use your magic. Beat it. Now you can choose to advance to the final test or play with Whisper and do the strength, skill, and will tests over again to get items. I'd suggest "Playing with Whisper" since you can get some easy items and grow more accustom to the controls. You can beat the challenges again to receive different items, but you must achieve an A to get them. For strength, you get the Iron Katana, which is slightly better than the longsword you have. For Skill, you get the Yew Crossbow, which is better than the Yew Longbow in terms of attack power, but has a slower firing rate. For Will, you get a Will potion and a Resurrection Phial.

Quest: Will Combat Test (S)

  • Quest Summary
    • Go with Whisper Into the Guild Woods.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0

To do the small side quest with Whisper, head to the Guild Woods to meet her. A small cutscene ensues, then you must fight a few bandits. Either use your bow, your crossbow, your lightning magic, or if you want, all of them.

After finishing the sidequest, head back to the Guildmaster to continue the Main story. He'll tell you that you need to go back to the Guild Woods for your final test, which is the last part of the Quest: Guild Training (G). It's pretty self explanatory. You beat it? Then why are you reading this? Exit the Guild Woods. Geez....

Alright, now you've made it back to the main room in the Hero's Guild, the place with the giant map in the middle of the room. There is a green light that you need to step into whenever you want to spend your experience points. So do just that. Step into the green light and buy something. I recommend buying a health upgrade in the strength category. Now it is time to finally see the world. Check the table to see the quests you can take. The only one that you can do is the Wasp menace quest.

An interesting note

Take notice of the other quests listed at this time (the ones that are grayed out). You can NEVER do those quests. So why is it in the game, you ask? Well, more than likely those quests were planned to be in the final game but ended up getting the axe. It appears the programmers were to lazy to take out all of the information so what you see is commonly referred to as a 'dummy' quest. 'Dummy' meaning although the actual quest was taken out, there are still parts of it left in the game. In this case, the quest information was left in. Go figure.

I have seen some people describe these quests as the quests that the other Guild members take or are taking. But if this were true, why is this only time in the game that we see this?

Take the Wasp quest, but before you proceed out into the world, head to the Demon Door. It's the red dot on your map. Talk to him and he says,

"Your path is dark. Only a light will reveal it. And you are not bright enough."

Naturally, one would assume he is referring to one's alignment. But he is not. Remember that lamp you just received from the Guildmaster....Yep, use it. You can go into your menu and equip it or you can press Up on the D-pad and cycle through the quick menu until you get to the Lamp. From there you can assign it to a direction or just use it.

The Library Arcanum

Items in this Area

  • Items
    • Elixir of Life - In the chest

  • Tattoos
    • Howl Tattoo - In the bookshelf directly behind the treasure chest

  • Books
    • Book of Spells - Bookshelf beside Howl Tattoo bookshelf
    • 'Making Friends' - On table

Not much to say about this area, although it's pretty interesting. I'm curious what conclusions you would draw from this room. To me it looks like it's someone's "getaway". A place where they can read and be alone. To view either of the books you picked up, press the back button, go to Logbook, and then Books at the bottom. So exit from here and then exit the Guild altogether. You want to leave through the main gate, next to the quest table.

Picnic Area

Items in this Area

  • Haircuts
    • Standard Beard - On the middle picnic table with the two apples on it

  • Items
    • Apple Pie x2 - On the picnic tables
    • Health Potion - On the picnic table
    • Green Apple x5 - On the picnic tables

Quest: Wasp Menace (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • End the Picnic Area infestation

  • Money Reward: 500
  • Renown Reward: 200
  • Items Received
    • Wasp Queen's Head

Ok, so you've left the Hero's Guild by way of the front gate, near the map table, and you will be stopped by a NPC shortly after your departure. Follow him to the Picnic Area and kill all the wasps. Now you have to fight the Queen Wasp. Your first boss battle. Don't worry, it's easy. Just kill the smaller wasps as they appear, then pull out your bow and shoot. Don't forget about your magic. It comes in handy here too. Rinse and repeat until dead. Yay! You completed your first real quest. Here's a cookie from Kirby.

Lookout Point

Items in this Area

  • Silver Keys
    • Destroy the thorn bushes to the Southeast of the statue. The silver key is down the path.

  • Items
    • Ages of Skill Potion - Buy a fishing rod from Bowerstone or receive one for free at Fisher Creek. Near the Picnic Area there is a gap in the fence. Use the fishing rod there. Look for the ripples in the water.

Now head back to Lookout Point and near the center, where you can help the adventurer get rid of the bully or join in with the bully. There will be many instances like this is the game where interactions will give you a few good or evil points. Also, listen closely to what the Adventurer said. "I used to be an adventuer like you...". I wonder if someone from Bethesda was playing Fable when they were making Skyrim. Now, take notice the statue in the middle of the map. It rotates. Ooh....Ahh.. Well, around 9 P.M. - 11 P.M. it will point to Bowerstone South, and when it does the tavern cellar doors are unlocked and you will have access to a treasure chest that contains a Leather Chest Piece. At 12 P.M. - 3 P.M. it points to the Greatwood Entrance, and a treasure chest will appear in a small alcove to the Northeast. The chest will appear in the small white rectangular box that is in between two statues. But now it is time to head North to Bowerstone to meet Maze.

Quest: Maze's Information (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Maze is waiting for you at Bowerstone Tavern, which can be reached from Lookout Point.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0

Be sure to read the first sentence for Bowerstone Quay section before you actually do the side quest there. You will miss an item if you do it wrong.

So you wandered into Bowerstone did ya? Fine. You need to head to the tavern to talk to Maze......Mmmmmm, corn....uh, sorry. You should try to buy a new weapon while you are here. There is also a sidequest to do in the Bowerstone Quay, if you are so inclined. This is also a really good time to explore, if you couldn't tell from the boxes above. There are a bunch of items to pick up in Bowerstone. Just be careful of the items that are in barrels, or in people's homes. You will need to vandalize or steal these items. Breaking a crate counts as vandalism, and if anyone sees you, you will be reported and there will be a fine placed on you. Likewise, if anyone can see you when you steal something from a bookshelf, a fine will be placed on you as well.

Breaking barrels is best to be done at night, since most of the townspeople are inside. Conversely, stealing from people's homes is best to be done during the day, when their doors are open, and when they are less likely to be home. Just keep an eye on the, well, "eye" in the top left corner. The number shows how many people are around you, and a closed eye means that no one can see you (i.e. the best time to vandalize or steal), while an open eye means people can see exactly what you are doing. It's best to save before you start breaking a lot of stuff, that way you can just load if you get into too much trouble. Anyways, don't feel like you have to put off the Main Quest until after you've explored. The Main Quest in Bowerstone is just a small bit of story, and after it's over, you are free to explore, with your objective being to head back to the Guild to pick up more quests. Before you leave make sure you buy a Spade, a Fishing Rod (but only if you don't want to backtrack in the near future), and a Gift. A gift can be Chocolates, Perfume, a Red Rose, or whatever. You'll need the spade for the rest of the game for some digging spots. You'll also need the fishing rod for a lot of fishing spots throughout the game. And the gift is for the Demon Door at Rosewood Cottage.

    • Will Potion - West of the Barn, in a barrel, next to a tree

  • Haircuts
    • Mutton Chop Beard - Received from man near pier

You can get the Puddin Basin style from the House Southeast of the Barber Shop, in a bookshelf, on the bottom floor.

  • Tattoos
    • Fire Monkey Tattoo - Received from man near pier

Before you talk to the man on the pier, make sure you picked up and have already equipped the Puddin Basin haircut in the previous area, Bowerstone South. You'll get the Warrior Stripe if you do and it is the only way to get Warrior Stripe card.

Quest: Beardy Baldy (B)

  • Quest Summary
    • A man in Bowerstone has an unusual request for you.

  • Money Reward: 100
  • Renown Reward: 100

If you head down to the pier, there is a guy that wants to introduce you to his daughter. The only problem is, she only likes men that have a certain haircut. The man is nice enough to give you the haircut card, so all you have to do is go back to the Barber and change your style. Once done, report back to the man, only to find out that you'll need a different beard style too. Change it and then come back. And once again, he tells you that you aren't quite up too snuff. Also, why does he keep snickering after talking to him? Whatever. After you get the 'stache, come back to him to meet his daugh.....what do you mean 'there's no daughter'? You mean he was just tricking me the entire time? You mean, all of those people in town were laughing at.......me? Ha! Joke's on you. I like this moustache. Anyways that's all there is to do in this area.

In case you had to come back to the quest later, and you aren't sure which haircut to pick, here's the order:

  • Puddin Basin (or Warrior's Stripe if you have Puddin Basin equipped before starting the quest)
    • Mutton Chop Beard
      • Trader Style Moustache

After you are done pillaging and whatnot, head back to the Hero's Guild to pick up another quest card. Use your guild seal to teleport back, by pressing and holding the down button on the D-Pad.

Hero's Guild

About Boasts

This is a good time to talk about Boasts. You'll notice that for some quests, it will say "Maximum Number of Boasts: X". After you accept a quest, you can choose to do it with or without Boasts. Choosing to do a quest with Boasts will immediately take you outside of the Hero's Guild with people cheering you. From here, you can choose different feats that you will try to do during the quest. For example, "Don't get hit", or "Do it only with fists". Choosing any of these, up to the maximum number, will increase your Gold if you complete these Boasts. The catch is, is you fail the boast, the "Wager" amount is subtracted from your total amount of gold at the end of the quest. This is a good way to earn some extra money, so be sure to at least take the ones you feel confident with. If you choose to do a quest without taking any boasts when it prompts you, don't worry. You can still boast if you want to, you'll just need to walk to the platform outside of the Heroes' Guild and a boast menu will open up automatically. So don't feel the need to take one quest, boast, then come back in to take another quest, boast, and then come back in again to take another quest. Take all of the quests at one time without boasting and then either choose to boast when you pick the last available quest, or just make your way to the platform, outside of the Heroes' Guild .

Check the quest table and choose one of the quests. It doesn't matter really which one you choose, you will just receive either good or evil points depending on which one you choose. If you've been following the guide, you should have 2 potions that you can use for more skill points and a health potion that will increase your maximum health. DO NOT USE THE SKILL POINT POTIONS. The Skill point potions are named: Ages of Might, Ages of Skill, and Ages of Will. To maximize the amount of skill points you will receive from the potions, it's best to use them later in the game when you have access to Physical Shield and an area with a lot of enemies. This is because the formula for these potions are:

Experience Received = 100 x Combat multiplier

That means if you just straight up drink your potion all spontaneous like, you'll only get a measely and laughably 100 points. And we will laugh at you. You can however use any potion that increases you life or magic (Elixir of Life and Will Master's Elixir) since those increase your health and magic by a specific amount. After you're done buying some upgrades (if you have some extra points burning a hole in your pocket), follow your map until you get to Greatwood Entrance. You can click in the Right Thumbstick to zoom in on your mini-map, which will also tell you the names of the connecting areas. Very handy if you aren't sure which way to go.

Greatwood Entrance

Items in this Area

  • Items
    • Will Potion - On ground in Southeast alcove
    • Health Potion x3 - On ground in Southeast alcove
    • Will Master's Elixir - In chest in Southeast alcove
    • Golden Carrot - From a dig spot directly West of the Orchard Farm Entrance. Look for the patch of dirt surrounded by mushrooms.

  • Augmentations
    • Piercing Augmentation - From the appearing chest in the alcove in the Northeast. Needs to be around 12 P.M. for the chest to appear. The statue at Lookout Point will point towards Greatwood Entrance and examining it will tell you "The statue is pointing to Greatwood".

Not much here except some wasps, bandits, and a few goodies in the alcove to the Southeast. There are wandering traders in this area, and if you happen to see Crunchy Chicks for sale, buy them if you can spare the money. They will be used in the future for a Demon Door. You'll need around 10 - 15 total for the Demon door. Also, take note of the Northeast alcove in this area. There is a white rectangle in between two statues. If you enter this area between 12 P.M. - 3 P.M., a treasure chest will appear here. You can tell about what time of day it is by looking at the clock in the top right corner of your mini-map. When the white arrow is touching both night and day, and night is on the left and day is on the right, it is 6 A.M. When the white arrow is in the middle of the day, it is 12 P.M. This is also a good time to take a detour to the West, to Fisher Creek.

Fisher Creek

  • Silver Keys
    • From ripple in water

  • Trophies
    • Golden Fish - From ripple in water.

  • Clothing
    • Leather Gauntlets - In a chest, North of the house

  • Haircuts
    • Working Moustache - From ripple in water

  • Items
    • Moonfish - From ripple in water

  • Books
    • A Hero's Journey 1 - Found in bookshelf in the Fisherman's house.

Quest: Fishing Lessons (B)

  • Quest Summary
    • Learn how to fish.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0

You'll receive the quest automatically when you enter this area, as well as a fishing rod. Your goal for this quest is to fish out the Trophy, the Golden Fish. There are 5 areas where you should fish, which are denoted by ripples in the water. Four of those ripples are actual items, while one is filled with 100 gold. You'll receive a fishing rod for free when you visit here, which means you can re-visit Lookout Point near the Picnic Area to use your fishing rod for a helpful skill potion, provided that you didn't buy a rod in Bowerstone and already pick up the potion. When you get near a fishing spot, the icon for Down on the D-pad will change to a fishing hook. This lets you know that there is a fishing spot nearby and it is also a lot more handy than having to cycle through your menu to select the fishing rod. After you're done here, head on over to Orchard Farm by way of Greatwood Entrance and then Greatwood Lake. I'm skipping listing the items in Greatwood Lake right now since we can't get every item on our first pass through and we will be coming back through very shortly.

Orchard Farm

Items in this Area

  • Silver Keys
    • Fish off of the pier on the Eastern most part of this area. Look for the ripples in the water.

  • Treasure Clue 5
    • In a treasure chest right next to the fence by the Orchard

  • Tattoos
    • Coron Visor Tattoo - In the Southeast part of the Orchard, fish off the pier where the ripples are.

  • Clothing
    • Upper Dress - Alcove to the west, just north of the House

  • Books
    • Making Friends - Inside the house on the West hand side of the area, dresser, bottom floor
    • The Rotten Apple- Inside the house on the West hand side of the area, bookshelf, bottom floor

  • Potions
    • Elixir of Life - Fished from the ripples in the small pond near the barn and the house.

  • Gifts
    • Jet - Behind the South-side of the barn in a treasure chest.

Quest: Protect Orchard Farm (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Help the Guards defend Orchard Farm from a Bandit assault

  • Money Reward: 750
  • Renown Reward: 400
  • Maximum Number of Boasts: 5
  • Items Received
    • Whisper's Brooch

Quest: Attack Orchard Farm (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Lead the Bandits to the crates and cover their back while they steal them.

  • Money Reward: 1000
  • Renown Reward: 400
  • Maximum Number of Boasts: 5
  • Items Received
    • Whisper's Brooch

You have to either defeat the bandits or protect the bandits depending on what you chose. It's real easy. After you beat them you have to fight Whisper again. But this time you need to hit her once then use your flourish attack. Once you have a combat multiplier, as seen in the upper left corner of the screen, press B to use a flourish. It's an unblockable attack, and very useful for decapitating people. Rinse and repeat. When you pick up the the Treasure clue in this area, it will automatically start the Quest: Hidden Booty Hunt (B), which you won't be completing for some time, so don't try to go out of your way to complete it just yet. Time to check back in with the Hero's Guild.

Hero's Guild

Now that you're here, you should have a decent amount of experience, so be sure to spend it before heading out. The Healing spell is always useful. You will notice that there are four different experience bars: General, Strength, Skill, and Magic. When you buy a skill, it will use your experience from the specific skill tree first, and then it will take from your General experience pool. There is also a tour guide showing people around now, as denoted by the wandering Green dot. A Green dot on you map indicates someone of interest that you can talk to or interact with. You can follow him and his group to take a tour of the Guild. At least, this is the first time that I noticed he was here. He may spawn earlier, but that's neither here nor there. There is now a sidequest that is available at the quest table, Quest: Hobbe Killing Contest (S). The Quest: Trader Escort (G) is used to advance the story, so just go ahead and grab both cards. But, before you leave, head out to the Guild Woods to pick up a Silver Key.

Guild Woods

Items in this Area

  • Silver Keys
    • Use the fishing rod with the ripple in the water, near where you fought the bandits.

Pretty much the only reason to come here is for the key, so once you've got it exit the Guild Woods and then exit the Heroes' Guild. First off, we'll do the Sidequest, so head out and make sure you go through Greatwood Entrance. The reason for coming here is to pick up 10 crunchy chicks from one of the wandering traders. If you already have some already, you don't need to buy 10, just enough to equal 10. These Crunchy Chicks will be used to access the Demon Door at Greatwood Gorge. If you don't see a trader with Crunchy Chicks, you can try to keep zoning back and forth between Greatwood Entrance and Greatwood Lake, as traders spawn in both regions. If you can't seem to get them now, you can always come back later, so don't worry too much about it if you are having a hard time finding a trader with Crunchy Chicks and continue on to Orchard Farm.

Orchard Farm

Quest: Hobbe Killing Contest (S)

  • Quest Summary
    • Clear Orchard Farm of Hobbes.

  • Money Reward : 900
  • Renown Reward: 200
  • Items Received
    • Hobbe Tooth Trophy

Head towards the Orchard and you will be greeted by the farm owner and ... Oh wow, what do you know? Whisper. She is freaking everywhere! Your goal here to kill her......I mean.... kill more Hobbes than her. Freudian slip. >_> Just focus on one at a time so she doesn't steal your kills. Better yet, try to kill the one that she is attacking. The bow works pretty well here. Let her wail on a Hobbe while you charge up an arrow. After she hits it a few times, shoot the Hobbe and you'll probably get the kill. The bow works in an interesting way. The longer you hold an arrow, the more damage it does. But that's not the interesting part. The cool thing about it is, there seems to be no limit for how long you can charge up, which means you could potentially one shot any enemy in the game with one arrow. How long you would have to hold it is another story, but I digress. Just be aware that there are different Hobbes here and they have different health. The normal ones are a blueish color and you'll see them the most. They have the least health. Let Whisper smack them two or so times while you charge your arrow. The white ones have a little more health and the bulky red ones have a lot more health. The Hobbes also have a really good drop rate for items, so try to pick them up whenever you get a little breathing room. Just be careful not to do it when enemies or Whisper is near you because you risk the chance of putting away your weapon and waving to the enemies or Whisper. And you don't want that. Especially since these Hobbes are very rude and won't wave back. When you're done here you can head to Greatwood Lake.

Greatwood Lake

Items in this Area

  • Silver Keys
    • Dead end at the North Eastern part of this area, in front of the broken bridge

  • Silver Key Chests
    • Center of the area on a small island, next to a single tree.
      • Elixir of Life

  • Items
    • Health Potion - West area of map, near the dome looking rock, on the ground

Provided you've picked up all of the Silver Keys thus far, you should have Six Silver Keys, which means you can open the Silver Key Chest (which only requires 5 Silver Keys) in this area for an Elixir of Life, which increases your maximum health. From here you can make it to Greatwood Gorge, where you are supposed to be going for the Quest: Trader Escort (G).

Greatwood Gorge

Items in this Area

  • Augmentations
    • Flame Augmentation - In the treasure chest in the North part of the camp, between the tents.

  • Weapons
    • Steel Pickhammer - In the treasure chest in the Northwest alcove.

  • Items
    • Apple Pie - In a barrel in the Northwest alcove.
    • Health Potion x 2 - In a barrel in the Northwest alcove.
    • Red Meat - In a barrel in the Northwest alcove.
    • Will Potion x 2 - In a barrel in the Northwest alcove.

Here you can either pay 400 gold to pass or take out all of the bandits then loot their treasure. Hmmm....tough decision. At the end of the road there is another Demon Door. You can either kill a lot of people in front of him or you can eat around 10 crunchy chicks (which is the easier way) to get him to open. Also, yes, if you stand next to those black barrels with the red skull and crossbones, and then attack them, you will get hurt. They do indeed go boom. Once you've looked around a bit, stop by the Demon Door if you managed to pick up the Crunchy Chicks. If not, continue on to Greatwood Cullis Gate.

The Arboretum

Items in this Area

  • Legendary Weapon
    • Wellow's Pickhammer - In the treasure chest near the tree. You'll have to break some thorn bushes to access the treasure chest.

Only one item to pick up in this area, and it's pretty good since you can get it so early in the game. This was the key reason to pick up the Crunchy Chicks in the previous areas. No need to chop down every thorn bush. I tried, and nothing happened. Although, it only takes one swing to destroy the bushes with this axe. That's good for something, right? Ok, maybe not. From here head back to Greatwood Gorge and then go to Greatwood Cullis Gate.

Greatwood Cullis Gate

Items in this Area

  • Items

Here you will notice a blue dot on your map. This is a cullis gate, which is the second one you've seen (the first being in Bowerstone). These Cullis gates provide you quick access to areas when teleporting. Unfortuneately, that's all there is in this area, well that and a few enemies. From here you can go to Rose Cottage for another Demon Door that you can open, provided that you bought a gift earlier like I suggested. If you don't have a gift, don't worry, as you can pick one up easily as explained in the next section.

Rose Cottage

The only thing to do in this area, at this time (you'll be back later for a sidequest), is to pick up 500 gold out of a treasure chest behind the house. Be aware that you'll have to destroy some thorn bushes to reach it and each one you destroy will net you 5 evil karma points. You also need to give the Demon Door a gift to get some goodies. Any gift will do. If you don't have any, you can teleport back to Bowerstone, pick one up, and be back in a jiffy. If you were following this guide to the letter, you would have already picked up a gift in the Orchard Farm, but that one is kind of expensive, and I don't think he's really worth it since honestly, I doubt he's going to call you afterwards. So getting some cheap chocolates might be preferrable, but if you think you can work some magic, give him the Jet. Who am I to judge?

The Secret Haven

Items in this Area

  • Armor
    • Will User's Bright Outfit - In the chest, behind the bed *shudders*.

So you just wooed the Demon Door, entered into the Secret Haven, to find a plump bed in the center of the room, soft lit candles, and bear rugs. I know what you're thinking: "This was a mistake. I'm not this type of woman / man. Why do I attract these..." Wait. You're not thinking that? Yeah, neither was I. What? Seriously.

>_> <_<

Anyways, open the chest for the Will User's Bright Outfit. This was the real reason why I came in here. *laughs nervously*

From here, head back to Rose Cottage, then to Greatwood Cullis Gate, and then to Greatwood Caves.

Greatwood Caves

Items in this Area

  • Items
    • Will Potion - On the ground near the Hobbe Cave Entrance.
    • Red Meat - On the ground near the Hobbe Cave Entrance.

Here you will fight some Hobbes. No biggie. After you beat them you can hack through the brush and you will find a will potion and red meat on the ground. Don't feel obligated to go into the Hobbe Cave, as you will come back here later. There is also a Demon Door too. You need to get a combat multiplier of 14 or higher to get him to open. If you want to get it open at this time, the best way to do it is to purchase the spell, Physical Shield, enter into the Hobbe Cave Entrance, and whack away at the hobbes since they continue to respawn. As long as you keep your shield up, your combat multiplier won't break. Just be aware that once you zone out of an area, your combat multiplier will immediately drop to half of what it was. Another good way is to use your bow. Charge up for as long as you can. You can zone back and forth between Greatwood Caves and Hobbe Cave Entrance, killing enemies, and trying to get as high as possible combat multiplier. Once you do it a couple of times, you ought to be able to get a x20 multiplier in Hobbe Cave Entrance. Once you do, you are ready to go back to Greatwood Caves. You'll start out with a x10 multiplier, and provided you don't get hit too much, you should easily be able to hit a x14. Once you do, make a beeline to the Demon Door.

The Butterfly House

Items in this Area

  • Legendary Weapon
    • The Cutlass Bluetane - From the treasure chest.

Not much to say here, except this is a really cool looking sword. Probably one of my favorites. This area is incredibly small, and if you are having trouble finding the chest, well, let me give you explicit directions: Go straight.

Cave Larder

Items in this Area

  • Potions
    • Will Master's Elixir - From the Silver Key Chest (5 keys required).

Quest: Trader Escort (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Escort the traders to the Trader Camp

  • Guild Reward: 2000
  • Renown Reward: 500

Start going a little forward then a cutscene will trigger. But you are faced with a decision. Do you let the trader go with you or leave him behind for some evil points. Right after the cutscene, veer off to the right to receive a Resurrection Phial. Proceed to Darkwood Marshes. Now you get to see your first Balverine. There is also a Demon Door nearby and it will send out 5 waves of enemies. The difficulty will increase with each wave. It's pretty tough but it can be done. You get a Dark Will User's Outfit for defeating them. Continue forward to Darkwood Lake.

Here you will be ambushed by some bandits. They are not too tough, but you need to keep an eye out for the Traders. When you get to the lake part, turn to the right and get the 250 gold in the treasure chest. Proceed forward a and walk near the illuminated rock. You will know which one it is because one of the traders will say something about,

"Look, it's one of those rocks".

You will see a hole in the top of it. Stand back a bit and shoot an arrow in the hole at the top to receive a silver key. Don't forget to walk over it to pick it up. There is also a silver key chest directly behind you, but alas you need 15 silver keys. So just keep movin' to Darkwood Camp. There are a few traders here. And there are two treasure chests. Tell the Traders to follow you when you are ready to move on. Now you are at the Ancient Cullis Gate. Nothing special, just enemies and treasure. You should be at Darkwood Weir. Head through the water path and get the lightning augmentation from the chest. Now head up a ways and you will fight your first troll. The battle can seem a bit daunting at first, but all you need to do is whip out your bow and roll when it throws the rocks at you. Continue on to Barrowfields to complete your quest. And now you are very close to a familiar place...

Oakvale Part 2

Quest: Maze's New Information (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Maze has more information regarding your sister. Speak to him at the tavern in Oakvale.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0

Meet Maze in front of the tavern to continue the story. There are a few different side quests available in Oakvale. Do them at your leisure but you need to return to the Guild to start the next quest.

Hero's Guild

Take the quest card so you can find more out about your sister.

Quest: Find the Bandit Seeress (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Find the Seeress in the Bandit Camp, who might tell you about your sister Theresa

  • Money Reward: 4500
  • Renown Reward: 1000

Teleport to Oakvale and go to The Clifftop Path. Now you need to sneak by the guards. The best way to do this is to let them see you. That's right. It's totally the opposite of what you are supposed to do. After they see you, you will need to kill them then run behind the big rock close to the gate. Wait for the guards to walk past then RUN!!! Now you will be in the Abandoned Road. The goal is to collect all of the pieces of the Bandit suit. Don't worry there are plenty of enemies to try to stop you. So just do what you do best. There are a few treasure chests and barrels along the way, so sure to pick them up. Now that you have all of the Bandit suit you need to proceed to Twinblade's Camp. Wear the Bandit suit to get past the guard. On a side note you can change your armour back once he lets you in.

Twinblade's Camp

Now you need to get into Twinblade's Elite Camp. But you need a Bandit Camp Pass. There are a few ways to get in. You can either play Guess the Addition, which I find a little difficult, or you can pay a nearby bandit 1000 gold pieces. Now, a 1000 dollars seems a bit steep at this point but there is a total of 750 gold pieces in nearby barrels. So you only end up paying 250 gold. Or, if you are really devious, you can kill either person to get the Bandit Camp Pass.

Now you should be in Twinblade's Elite Camp. Your goal here is to get into Twinblade's Tent. But again the way is shut. So you can either hire the assassins, up the hill, to create a diversion for 2000 gold (BLAH) or you can kill the guard that is guarding the imprisoned girls. Again, it's a really tough decision. On a side note, I wouldn't advise attacking the assassins, because they are a bit tough and you get absolutely nothing except experience points. So create your diversion then proceed to Twinblade's Tent.

Now that you are in Twinblade's Tent you have to *gasp*, fight him. Now, I what you're thinking. Holy Crap! That dude is huge. But despair not. Just roll out of the way when he attacks, don't even bother trying to hit him. When he tries to stab you with his sword this is the best time to attack. His swords will be stuck in the ground leaving his back vulnerable. Keep using this strategy for a rather painless victory.

Now you are faced with yet another decision. Do you let Twinblade live or rip out his gizzard? Well if you go with the later, then not only do you have to fight Twinblade, but his minions as well. Oh and you get 120 Renown points if you do kill him. Time to head back to the....

Hero's Guild

Quest: Maze's Request (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Maze has asked to meet you in his quarters in the Guild--=

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 0

Head up to Maze's quarters and talk to him. After that take the quest card and head on out. Take the warp to Witchwood Cullis Gate so you can find the Archeologist.

Quest: Find The Archaeologist (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • The Archaeologist is protected by a magical door. Find this door.

  • Guild Reward: 1200 Gold
  • Renown Reward: 0

Witchwood Cullis Gate

Make your way from Witchwood Cullis Gate to Witchwood Stones. Up ahead you need to find out the Demon's Door name. It's a good idea to go ahead and head all the way up to the Temple of Avo then to Knothole Glade to activate the warp. You can go ahead to the Temple of Avo and talk to a person to find out the Demon Door's name for a small price. But for those of us that are lazy it's 'Hits'. Just hit the correct stones in order to spell his name. Head in the Demon Door to finish the quest.

Note

Instead of spelling Hits, a clever, albeit slightly immature player (Im talking about myself here) might notice that he or she is able to spell a certain four letter word. Doing so will spawn Balverines, you naughty boy/girl.

Hero's Guild

Now that you are back here it is time to help out the good people of Knothole Glade. Take the quest and warp to Knothole Glade.

Knothole Glade

Quest: White Balverine (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Defend the people of Knothole Glade from the White Balverine.**

  • Money Reward: 6200
  • Renown Reward: 800
  • Maximum Number of Boasts: 3

You need to kill the Balverines outside of the gate before you can go in the town. After you defeat them a White Balverine will appear. You can't kill it right now, so you just need to hit it ten times before it runs away. After it runs away the chief will tell you about a women that knows how to get rid of the White Balverine. Just walk around until the White Balverine attacks again. After you beat it, you will see a cutscene. She gives you a silver augmentation. You need to put it on a weapon. After that, you need to run off the White Balverine again. Cutscene. Head to Witchwood Lake for the final showdown. Not only do you have to fight the White Balverine, but also he calls for some help and you have to fight Balverines too.

After you get the Balverine Head, go back to Knothole Glade to talk to the chief to finish the quest. It's that time again....

Hero's Guild Part 2

Check the Guild table for the next quest card, which should be The Arena. Take the quest then teleport to Knothole Glade. You'll have to walk to the Arena from here. So head to Witchwood Lake then to the Arena Entrance. Talk to the guard on the left in front of the doors. I recommend saving right now, just in case you want to do the Hero Save exploit in the Arena.

Quest: The Arena (G)

  • Quest Summary
    • Earn gold and renown participating in rounds of combat at the Arena.

  • Money Reward: 0
  • Renown Reward: 2000
  • Maximum Number of Boasts: 4

After watching the cutscene, you've got a few minutes to walk around and do whatever you want before an automatic cutscene will appear. So now it's time to go and fight. Go up the stairs and talk to the guards.

There are 8 Rounds in the Arena and each round has different enemies that increase in difficulty as the rounds progress. It is important that you don't go back to the waiting area unless you absolutely have to. If you do you lose your gold increments and it starts back at 100 gold.

  • Round 1: 4 waves of Wasps. Easy. 100 Gold

  • Round 2: 4 waves of Hobbes. Again fairly easy. 600 Gold total.

  • Round 3: 4 waves of Balverines. Still easy. 1,600 Gold total.

  • Round 4: 4 waves of Undead. Yep. 3,600 Gold total.

  • Round 5: 4 waves of Bandits. A little harder. 6,600 Gold total.

  • Round 6: 2 Earth Trolls. Did it with my eyes closed. 10,600 Gold total.

  • Round 7: 2 Rock Trolls. A bit hard, just lock onto one of the Trolls and keep rolling while charging up your bow. Do this the whole round and there is a good chance you won't even get hit. 18,600 Gold total.

  • Round 8: 1 Giant Scorpion. Easy. Just lock on and shoot with bow. Roll out of the way when it charges at you. 28,600 Gold total.

After the cutscene you have to fight Whisper. She is still the same as before. After beating her you are faced with a decision. Do you let her live or die? Let her live and you get um, nothing. Kill her and you get an extra 10,000 gold. But before you make your decision, you can use the Hero Save exploit. Just Hero Save it now and if you want you can start the whole Arena quest over but you will still keep all of your exp, gold, stats, and anything else you have gained. So make your decision. Then, you get to enjoy a cutscene with the lovely Lady Grey hitting on you.

Quest: Finding Theresa Again (G)

Meet Theresa outside the Grey House.

  • Money Reward: 0

  • Renown Reward: 0

Now you need to go to the Grey House to speak with your sister. Teleport to Barrowfields then head to the Grey House. Since you are already here head inside the house to fight some undead. After you kill them all, check the barrels and shelves. Be sure to read the Dusty Notebook for a little info on Lady Grey. There is also a Silver chest on the top floor that requires 10 silver keys. Check the Silver keys FAQ to find all 25. Now head around back to the cellar. That's one weird family. It makes me wonder what other skeletons they have in the closet (that was a pun). Return to the Hero's Guild for another quest.

Hero's Guild

Time to take the Archaeologist quest, again. Teleport to Bowerstone South then make your way to Bowerstone North. Take the left path to Bowerstone Jail.

Bowerstone South Part 2

Quest: Find the Archaeologist (G)

Find the Archaeologist in Bowerstone Jail.

  • Money Reward: 7000

  • Renown Reward: 500

  • Maximum number of Boasts: 3

Now you need to make your way past the minions. Kill them, but don't forget about the two treasure chests and barrels off to the right side. Proceed to Windmill Hill. A magician minion has set up a magical barrier, so you must kill him to get to the next area. Dispose of the enemies then check around for barrels and chests. Also search the houses. And be sure to dig wherever there is a dirt patch surrounded by red flowers. You will see the Down button on the D-pad change to the spade if the is an item to dig up. On a side note, if you ever see anyplace that is secluded or looks suspicious, walk around it to see if the digging icon will appear. Alright, now head to Gibbet Woods. The summoner calls a Rock Troll which has 5000 HP. Beat it then head for the summoner and the other minions. Proceed to the Prison Path. This part is timed. You need to defeat all of the minions within a few minutes to save the Archaeologist. Slow time is very helpful for this part and in fact, it's arguably one of the best spells. After you have rescued the Archaeologist it's time to go talk to the gatekeeper at the graveyard. From the Prison Path, backtrack to Gibbet Woods then head to Headsman Hill then Lychfield Graveyard.

Quest: The Graveyard Path (G)

Talk to the Gravekeeper.

  • Guild Reward: 1500 Gold

  • Renown Reward: 200

Head down to the Gatekeeper's house and eavesdrop on him and another guy. You find out about the armour that you will need to gain passage through the Demon Door up ahead. Talk to the Gatekeeper after the cutscene to get him to let you through the doors. There are tons and tons of places to dig, so be sure that you walk around and look at your dig icon. Now you need to find the armour.

  • Nostros' Helmet- In the Gatekeeper's House, on the shelve.

  • Nostros' Sword- Dig in front of graves, right beside the tomb where you get the silver key. The grave in front says, "It says, Yaggath Sonnag-Sleeper in the Dark, wake and rise.'"

  • Nostros' Armour- In the tomb that says, "Here lies Lady Fylorn. Dead by her own hand."

  • Nostros' Shield- Fish by the tomb that says, "Here lies The Dark Duke

Sibelis. His reign of torture is no more."

Now go up to Nostros' tomb and give him the armour to proceed. Make your way through the Old Graveyard Path then to the Circle of the Dead. Here you need to kill enough enemies to light up the circle. Also the enemies can only be hurt if they are inside the circle. Now it's time to rescue your mother. Head into the Underground Chamber.

Quest: Rescue Scarlet Robe (G)

Find your mother and escape from Bargate Prison.

  • Guild Reward: 0

  • Renown Reward: 0

Make your way from the Underground Chamber to the Underground Tunnel. Then fight your way to the Clifftop Path then to the Underground Passage. Now proceed to the Torture Chamber and release your mother after the cutscene. Just start heading back the way you came until you are stopped by a cutscene with the Jack of Blades in it.

Oh yay! You're caught. You can't do much but listen to people talk. After the guard comes back you have to race. It is very easy, just follow the way the guards point and run Forest, run. Once you get on top of the fort, there is a slightly faster way just after the first turn. Just take a left before you make your second turn around the corner. Now since you won, you get a special treat. During this "session" you need to sneak (depress left analog stick) and find the code on the wall. Walk back over to the table and open any book.

Remember what you just did. Yeah, well do it again. Seriously. This time just choose a different book. Now, back in your cell, open the door and go directly across to the cell and break the barrels to receive your stick. Release your fellow prisoners then head out the door. While the prisoners are fighting the guards run up the flight of stairs and in the door off to the right. Open the chests to get your belongings and a Guards suit. Now that you have you stuff, head back out and down the stairs, to the front door. Release your mother, once again, and start making your way out.

Quest: Prison Escape (G)

Rescue your mother, Scarlet Robe, from Bargate Prison.

  • Money Reward: 0

  • Renown Reward: 0

Once you get to the Underground Passage it's time to fight the Kraken. He only shows his tentacles first so lock on to one and shoot it with your bow. It should only take two shots per tentacle. Once you have killed all four, then he will show his face. Keep shooting him with arrows and rolling out of the way when he shoots his acid at you. Repeat these steps to beat him. Head to the exit to watch a cutscene and finish the quest, finally. Teleport to...

Barrowfields

After you get here, proceed to Darkwood Weir, then to Ancient Cullis Gate.

Quest: Gateway to Hook Coast (G)

Activate the Cullis Gate to Hook Coast, in Darkwood.

  • Guild Reward: 4200 Gold

  • Renown Reward: 500

Head to the Cullis Gate, then you will have to kill enough Undead enemies to activate the Gate. Once you do this you will be in...

Hook Coast

Here is one of the cooler towns that you don't get to spend a lot of time in. Anyways, head up to the magical barrier to see a cutscene. Now ya' got to leave, and we just go here too. But there is time to play around in the town before you have to transport back to...

Hero's Guild

Now you need to meet your mother in Maze's quarters for another cutscene. After the cutscene grab the book behind you which will complete the quest. Head back and talk to the Guildmaster to get a quest card from your mom. Teleport back to....

Hook Coast

Quest: Return to Hook Coast (G)

Dispel the barrier at Hook Coast Ruins.

  • Guild Reward: 16000 Gold

  • Renown Reward: 1500

You have to defeat a new enemy, Screamers. Hmm....wonder why they are called that? Anyway, head up to the Ruins to see a cutscene, then you must fight...Maze. Cast slow time and physical barrier to beat him with ease. After you beat Maze head back to the...

Hero's Guild Part 2

Once you are here, the Guildmaster will tell you that you must defeat Jack. Step into the portal and you will be teleported to the Witchwood focus site.

Quest: Try to Stop Jack of Blades (G)

Stop Jack activating the Witchwood focus site.

  • Guild Reward: 5500 Gold

  • Renown Reward: 1000

You don't really have to fight the enemies just proceed to the big boulder. Watch the cutscene, then you will be transported to another focus site. Same thing here. You must do this a total of 4 times. Once you see all four sites then the quest is complete.

Hero's Guild

This is it. Go to the Library to see a cutscene and one final quest.

Quest: Battle Jack of Blades (G)

Fight Jack of Blades.

  • Guild Reward: 25000

  • Renown Reward: 20000
Super Important Notes about this battle

  • First off, once you beat the game, DO NOT skip the credits. If you do you will NOT be able to continue playing the game.

  • One you beat the boss, you are faced with a choice. This choice affects what reward you get. By making the good choice, you gain some good points *yawn*, and for making the bad choice, you gain a lot of evil points and the most powerful sword in the game. This is the only way to obtain this sword.

Head into the Chamber of Fate to start the battle. This battle is fairly easy for being the final battle. You don't even have to come within striking distance of Jack if you don't want to. The easiest way to do this battle is to just whip out your bow and start firing off arrows. Jack will shoot an electric ball that will explode into many different balls that go across the screen. This can be easily dodged with a well-timed press of 'Y. Once you roll, you can slide your finger over to the X button and immediately begin charging your bow before you complete the roll.

Once you get most of his health down, he will float above the center platform and continue to shoot shockwaves and electric balls at you. Just keep dodging to the left or right while charging up your bow as soon as you come out of the roll. Don't bother using manual aim, just stick to auto aim and dodge like crazy. Although he does have one move that will drain your health, he uses it very rarely. I have only seen him do it once and that was when he had one more hit left. Follow this strategy and you should beat him with relative ease.

After you defeat him, you are faced with one final decision. It should be pretty obvious which decision is good and which one is evil. If you decide to take the evil action, you will gain the Sword of Aeons, which has 500 attack power. Yes, it's as broken as it sounds. You also get a whole bunch of evil karma, so for all of you good players out there, well, you won't be good after this. Heck, you probably won't even be neutral. For choosing the good decision, you get some good karma and the Plate Helme.......Oh, wait. What? You only get good points? Huh. Well, at least you feel good about yourself, right? Maybe? Not really. So, make your choice wisely. Now the credits roll, AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SKIP THE CREDITS. If you do, you cannot continue playing your file. Congratulations, you beat Fable!!!!

FAQ's

  • Q: How do I unlock the Tavern's Cellar doors in Bowerstone?

    • A: There is a statue outside of Bowerstone South in Lookout Point, it will rotate throughout the day. When it points to Bowerstone (around 9 P.M. - just after 11 P.M.) then the doors are unlocked. You can interact with the statue and it will say, "The statue is pointing to Bowerstone".

  • Q: I can't get Skorm's Bow!

    • A: It can be frustrating at times. As of right now, there is no 100% accurate way to get it every time. People have gotten it by sacrificing random people, others believe they have a set way. I got it from sacrificing the Temple of Avo Merc at exactly 6 A.M., but only once. I tried it on my new file and couldn't get it.

  • Q: How do I get really buff?

    • A: Well there are a few ways. First you can pretty much just max out your strength category and you will see quite a bit of definition. I have also heard that increasing your guile early on will make you tall. I'm not sure if that is true or not. The second way is to cast the spell Berserk and when you are able to walk around after the spell has been cast, save it then load you saved game. Your guy will be abnormally huge and without all of that fire. If you want to get back to your old self, just cast Berserk again.

  • Q: How do I get scars?

    • A: Get hit. A lot.

  • Q: Can I have different color hair?

    • A: Kind of. If you are really good at a young to mid age, you will notice that your hair will turn a light blonde. Other than that black, grey and white are the only other colors.

  • Q: How do you decapitate people?

    • A: There are a few ways. First, after you hit an enemy X amount of times (it depends on your strength and how strong your weapon is), the enemy will become dazed. When they are dazed, use your flourish move to decapitate them every time. However, when they are dazed, it means they will die in one more hit. It can be easy to accidentally kill them before you mean to. Secondly, shoot an enemy in the head with your bow by going into 1st person view. And lastly, once you upgrade your lightning spell to level four, the enemy heads just start falling off.

  • Q: How do I get divorced?

    • A: Don't ever visit her and she will eventually get mad at you then divorce you, but this can take a while. So I suggest you smack her around a bit (it's just a game, calm down, don't send me hate mail).

  • Q: Where can I find the Plate Helmet?

    • A: You can't. It's not in the game.

  • Q: Why not?

    • A: Because the developers are a bunch of big meanies.
