RPG Fortuna Magus FAQ/Walkthrough

by revivesaber   Updated to v1.01 on

Introduction

This is my second walkthrough, also another project from KEMCO which is unoccupied at the moment. My main focus is on how to take advantage of the game system and trying to clear the game instead of having fun on more difficult options. However, in this walkthrough, all are in hard mode.

Before that, this is a Version.1.0.3g, which I free download and play it, Do not turn on Wifi and play this game at the same time unless you subscribe to google play store. Some of this guide might not be compatible to other versions.

Menu

New Game: Seasoned and even normal RPG gamers should know what is this. The game splits into 3 difficulties, which won't affect their health but will affect the damage output (ATK,MAG) of enemies and the damage recieved (DEF,MDF), however, the HP is the same, so micromanagement and reliance on items are heavier on hard than of easy. Easy stats (mentioned above) is around 80% of Normal while Hard is twice of normal.

Continue: Of course, players will freaked out if there areno such buttons for a RPG that lasted hours, access to 3 save slots, or an auto save slot (So that forgetters whom forget to save before epic bossfight will not mad when game over).

Settings: Self Explanatory, expressing more and I'll get more hate.

Contact: Search for faq and problems from KEMCO through email, I'm posting a walkthrough here to prevent that? Whatever.

Navigation

Accessible by settings, there are three forms of moving the characters.

wysiwyg
  • By touching on an area to move along the touch direction, virtual pad is not provided. This is highly recommend for those with nimble fingers or devices with larger pads. World map navigation is also easier in this mode. However, talking to npc requires the player to FACE directly at them, then press the player itself, so it's not really convenient.
  • By touching on an area to move EXACTLY on that position, this is similiar to the first, but more convenient since tapping on NPC will cause characters to move along the way and talk to them, however, if they move, player will likely unable to interact and have to retap to do so.
  • By using only virtual pad, which is standard of most KEMCO RPG: a moving pad on left while confirm button on right. If the virtual pad is too small (especially smaller device), the pad size could be adjust also in settings.
  • Menu Interface

    Items

Self explanatory, which is further categorized into supplies, weapons, armor, accessory and Valuables.

    Spells/Skills

Another sad self explanatory, some characters have the option to view either spell or skill, but most characters only have skills. Those in white are normal skills that consumes SP (Soul Points), those in yellow are special skills/ ultimate skills that requires Technical Points to cast.

    Equip

As usual, the equipment panel that can change the current equipment of characters before they do battle. Beware that while some characters are simple to the point that "Just strip off old stuff and put on ones that are better", Fortuna Magus offers a wider customization, this can be seen in characters.

    Spoiler. Highlight text to view

In later part of the game, some characters will change their fighting styles, so beware.

    Status

While most stats can be view in main menu and equip, status is the place where award titles, curent element level, stats, and required exp to next level can be found, although most will only concentrate on the last info.

    Formation

This is quite something more than self explanatory, in charater screen, there are always 5 slots for characters, which is in order left > right > left > right > left or vice versa. Left slots are those on the front, which are more likely to be hit and are damage absorbers, right slots (rear) will deal less damage UNLESS the attack is ranged, but will also recieve only half the damage of front units.?The only way of alternating the number of 3F2R or 2F3R is by command change in battle. (unless anyone could figure out other ways, feel free to contact me for the info.)

    Data List

Gives you a list of story, quests, and anything, some are mere stories, others are guides of bestiary, and more. Figure it yourself, I won't spoil the fun here. (Not much to begin with)

    System

The place where save, load, help and more settings take place, exit to title button also available here.

    Characters

    Amane ("I won't lose.")

The main protagonist of the series, sadly just a naive child which always a fool and manipulated by the others. To put it in short, the worst kind of guy who bears the responsibility to save the world.

Every protagonist (well, mostly) will come out as a sword wielder, and he is one of these protagonists. however, fighting style varies by type of equipment:

    • Vanguard: When Amane wield a sword and a shield, this is initial loadout and typical damage sponge to put on front.
    • Dual Wield: When Amane wield both hands with swords, however, loadout will also varies by type of weapon. Dagger offers speed while swords give higher damage, offhand provide less attack bonus but definitely a hit from this loadout is heavier than Vanguard loadout, not including that it hits TWICE.

    Spoiler. Highlight text to view

In later part of the games, Amane can wield magic just like Rett, making him the second magus of the party.

    Tia ("Let's Go!")

A Onee-san who definitely has no blood relationship with Amane, quite harsh to him but cares deeply for him. To the others, she's quite cheerful girl with tsundere when topic is about Amane. Nonetheless, she is almost as naive as Amane. Tia's excel in range combat, that means regardless whether enemy is at front or cowering at back ,she can deal 100% damage, the healing skill is also useful for single recovery.

Tia's weaponry loadout is pretty simple, only bow and its 2 handed, so just changing better bows when they're available. The clothes, however, can be interchange between all the females, Tia's original should be the one with Crit bonus, but she can change to either MAG bonus or ATK bonus garb.

Rett ("Step aside, you're in the way.")

A not so mysterious man which has quite a frosty manner, becomes the babysitter for Amane and Tia after saving their lives from... quite some people. Outlaw by Luxian army for some stupid reasons. Rett's specialize in elemental magic, which needs special attention on monster to deal extra damage, and he can be used to steal items wherever possible. Other than that, Rett is just another damage sponge on the frontlines.

Rett's weaponry loadout also simple, but beware that after some time, his equipment will change. In other ways, he has no room for customization in equipment, but that's because he's a magus, and raising element level is more sophiscated than that.

    Mitoshiro ("God, Thank you.")

The youngest of the party, she is the high priestess of Luxia. She is obsessed with her height and age, which she tried desperately to rectify using her charismatic appearance. Mitoshiro excels in mass healing, curing, buffing, typical for a support class. The best place for her is to stay behind.

Mitoshiro can be categorized into 2 specs:

    • Combat Priest: 2 hand wielded staff with ATK bonus garb, Mitoshiro relies more heavily on Physical skills to pummel enemy using... a staff.?
    • Support Priest: 1 hand wielded staff with shield and MAG bonus garb, Mitoshiro relies more heavily on support skills to sustain the party. In assault, Judgement skill.

    Spoiler. Highlight text to view

Mitoshiro is the daugther of Kaswell, King of Luxia, and sister of Oliviet, combat priest and princess of Luxia.

Oliviet ("I'm scary when I'm serious you know.")

The daugther of King Kaswell and served as the combat priest of the country. She is more rational than her father, and treat Mitoshiro like a younger sister. Oliviet is all rounded and no much potential than other front liners, but she has a column normal attack, which can damage, soften, or even kill a whole vertical line of enemies at a single swipe. (However, attack on the rear still deals less damage)

Like Tia, Her weaponry is simple, only to be customized by changing clothes. (How the heck these three can interchange clothes when there's so much difference in size... I mean body size.)

    Skills and Spells and Revelations

(To be added in other guides)

    Fortuna Magus Points (aka FMP)

This is the semi premium currency in Fortuna Magus. In Menu, the Shop button is on top left corner. Every five downed monster will award 1 FMP. FMP will be count at the end of battle, but even fleeing when you have enough kills earns 1 FMP (Which means kill halfway, then flee). Nonetheless, player can directly buy this currency with real money.

One thing to be noted though, FMP is shared among save slots, which means you can create one save to purely farm FMP while retaining another to use it. However, FMP purchases are only available to one saves, and ALL purchases are in item form (no special services, IAP dungeons etc.) so plan it wisely.

See tips and tricks for more info.

    Story

The day when lost time recovers

The story starts with a long tale of stories and stuffs 10 years prior to real gameplay, then after some time, it shifts into Raydiff Village in present, where Amane came back from hunting or whatsover, when he heard a scream, which came from his sister.

    • A battle of Amane vs 3 bandits, the leader 200hp and minions 100, Amane can kill minions with a single slash skill, while leader maybe a chain up double slash or flash slash (special) revelations. In easy, normal attacks do just fine.

After that, they are surrounded, Amane is going to be beaten to a pulp, with TIa... A cool guy come and push three bandits so they fell, then they run, wow. For appreciation they invite him to stay overnight.... more rubbish contents. (Amane will restored to full health next day?) More soldiers came, more pushing, and three of them leave the village by force, into West Wood.

    Treasures to be found:

    • 50 gold on the first map.
    • Wing of Life and Miracle Juice on second map.
    • Dagger and Short Bow on third map.

    Notes:

    • Monster could hit up to 50 here in hard difficulty, so the best way is to blast them all with skills (Amane only), get all the treasure box, and reach restore point ASAP.
    • Alternatively, you could make an easy mode save, then rake up FMP to boost hard mode save with gold medals before proceeding.
    • Change the gear found in treasure box before boss fights, they boost little damage but better than none.
    • Boss is only 2k hp but troublesome for hard, it is advisable to do Tia's revelations on this for a quick kill.

Childish attacks only make the stray magus angrier, but a single push from Rett kills that guy, then they continue to Flam Village.

We see a kid priestess up the mountain

To do list in Flam Village:

    • Two subquests, Steal the Savings and Steal Back the Savings
    • Talk to Grey cat at the east farming patch of village for fast award.
    • Get equipped with new equipment. (bows can be an exception)
    • Go to inn, second floor to find Rett.

To avoid patrol, they choose to go up Mountain Varis instead of usual road.

    Treasures to be found:

    • Charm Pebble and Bronze Medal on the first map.
    • Bronze Medal on second map.
    • Crossbow on third map. (this is why I mentioned above that Tia won't need to get a new bow in Flam.)
    • Poison Guard and Wing of Life on fifth map. (This can be accessed later when you revisit Mt. Varis.)

    Notes:

    • Two boss with 2k hp each, another tough fight unless Amane and Tia is augmented by medals. (either from loot or FMP purchases), Revelation of Tandem attacks is suitable here.

After killing "Just only two pigs" mentioned by Rett, a bunch of soldier's come up and try to apprehend them, but is beaten in a flash (Seriously, not even Rett's magical push?). However, a little girl "with bathroom robe" came up and they had to flee by jumping from cliff, but not before Rett voiced out her name: Mitoshiro

    Treasures to be found:

    • Miracle Juice and Bronze Medal on the second map.
    • Magic Guard and Long Bow on third map.

    Notes:

    • According to lv10 Rett without medal augmentation, 1 hit from monster hit up to average 70+,
    • Rabbit is a uncommon monster here with very high DEF and very low HP, and will usually flee, kill it for a generous amount of exp and gold.
    • Boss is a 4.6k mantis, which will deal up to hundred dmg without augmentation, and prepare some analeptic because it will cast death strike which in fair probability that targetted character will probably instant DEATH. (For my case, I already have a generous supplement of All Guard Accessory.) To speed things up, use Tia's lv10 revelations for a chain attack here.

After killing a bug, they met a magus party, led by Rett and supported by his right handed man Lill, which is sadly, Amane and Tia's sister. Then, after rubbish conversation ,they went for Lanak.

The annual festival which love blossom

The city Lanak is vast to hide a few people who doesn't want to go into light. (only slightly larger than villages though) They plan their next move by working and gathering information from guild.

    To do list in Lanak:

    • Take Magus's Request subquest from the magus on North East, woodland patch area.
    • Talk to the cat at the South East Corner of the city to start Find Cat's Owner subquest.
    • Get new weapons and armor for the trio (Tia's Long Bow doesn't need changing though, its better than Silver Bow.)
    • After talking to Guild Master, talk to the chicken for an Evolved Award (for 5 revelations)

    Treasures to be found:

    • Bronze Medal, 300G and Panic Guard on the second map.
    • Stilleto on third map.

    Notes:

    • Boss fight is a Red titan with two feral guardians (don't mind their real name), with respective hp of 6.5k and 2k each.
    • Make sure to equip item ring so that both dogs drop old magestone when defeated.
    • Each of them can be looted with magestone shards so if Rett has thief toolbox, it would be easier.

After killing that stuff, they sensed other mage pressence. Turns out to be Lill, and she is astonished to sense 2 magus. Returning to Lanak, the trio found out that a festival is ongoing.

    Extras in Lanak's festival:

    • Red carpets, full cat costume
    • A stall where wishstone is gained from story, and sells festival food. (Not particularly effective, and I never used heal items.)
    • A Dragvandil which cost 9,999,999G, typical for a quest item. (Anyone who are lucky to obtain this, please tell me if it can be dual wield with another Dragvandil later on.)

The next stop will be Durn Cave, also another extermination process.

    Treasures to be found:

    • Magestone Shard and 500G on first map.
    • Miracle Juice and Sacrifice Doll on third map.
    • Magestone Shard on third map.

    Notes:

    • 7.6k earth element boss, not so hard to beat but its attack can be quite troublesome. Drop is normal but remember to equip item ring to maximize chance on getting a magestone and steal a shard from it. Every augmentation counts.

After that, they go back to report, but a woman caught Tia's eyes, her request is hard to denied by Amane and they decided to help after festival is over. (umm... what about the report and reward?)

    Tips and Tricks

Medal raking: Ever tired of raking much FMP for a few Gold Medals? No worries, there are better ways to raise stats than hard earn FMP. First, you need a thief toolbox or two (depends on whether Amane can control magic or not), then go to Decrepit Library. Equip Rett (and Amane) with toolbox, and start stealing Hellhound. You can get as much silver medal as you like (however, each hellhound carries only one medal). Even if you don't want to rise exp, just steal and run, the stuff accumulate is still there.

Rake FMP without levelling up: Since FMP requires killing, earning exp and levelling up seems inevitable. However, take note that an FMP is shared amongst all save data, so this can be manipulated. BY DOING A SAVE before runs in dungeons (preferably those with large amounts of monsters per battle, 3~5), start earning FMP, when feel enough, load the save you made earlier. Taa-daa! exp, level, gain all reset, but FMP shown in shop will never reset!
