Donations

While I do write all of my guides for free, it does take a lot of time and effort to put them together. If you're feeling generous and want to show your appreciation, I am gladly accepting donations. I don't know exactly what the donations will be used for, but just know that you would definitely be helping me make more quality FAQs! Even the smallest donation amounts are appreciated, and they are a great way to say how much you appreciate the work I do. If you do decide you'd like to donate, please send the donations through PayPal at the e-mail address listed below. Thank you so very much for at least considering this!!

Introduction

Welcome to another one of my FAQs. This particular FAQ covers Dirty Racing. Dirty Racing is another generic racing game. Like a number of Japan-only games of its day, Dirty Racing also tends to advocate rather suggestive themes, although not to the extent certain games on the NES have done. >_>

It's been almost twenty years since this game's initial launch back in 1993 by Gremlin and Jaleco. And since then, not a single FAQ has been written for it. Well, there's always a first time for everything, no? Ever since the start of the GB FAQ Completion Project on GameFAQs several years ago - a project designed to get a guide out for every single GB game out there - many people have now been helped because older, rarer, less popular games have gotten guides.

And so, that is how I came upon this game. Thanks for listening to my ramblin'; hope you enjoy!

Walkthrough

The Shop

Between the races in the game, you'll be at a shop where you can improve your vehicle. That's why it is included here - it is a constant thing.

Item Name Position Cost Effect
Extra Accel. Top-left 50 Boosts acceleration, letting you reach top speed faster.
Engine Tune Top-right 100 Increases top speed, I think.
Tyre Service Middle-left 30 Increases tire grip, allowing for tighter, better turns.
Exit Middle-right 0 Lets you leave this menu, obviously.
Larger Nitro Bottom-left 100 Increases capacity for nitrous boosts.
Damage Repair Bottom-right Varies Restores the car's damage fully.

World Map and Basics

^l1|

This is a slightly-off (chromatically) drawing of the world map of this game. Your goal is to go through each area, each of which will have a number of races attributed to it, as the below sections will outline. Once you finish each area, the game should be complete. There's no real order that can give you an advantage - in the end, it comes down to raw skill.

Anyways, as to how to race? Basically, you'll move along from point to point on the map, not being able to pass any place you've yet to win at. In each area, you can press the A Button to engage in a race or series thereof. To proceed on to the next race, you must gain enough points to be in a designated position - if you fail in this task, you'll have a game over. During the race, you cannot use a shortcut of any type, therefore meaning that a simple map of the track should be sufficient. Do beware during the track of bumping into walls and other cars, for this increases the damage on the car, which can inhibit its performance as a whole. You can find various power-ups along the tracks, though the main thing to get is money, which will help you by allowing better upgrades from The Shop.

I think that covers it.

Track Index (READ!)

I note this as to where to go first, for the sole reason (almost) of mentioning to read the previous section. Also, the courses, given their strict linearity, will be simply described by posting screenshots of their tracks, in the order you find them. You can click on the below links to quickly navigate to the desired section.
