Profiling & Hacking

Aiden's phone is his most valuable asset and allows him to the access facial recognition of individuals, hack into phones and environmental objects, and even detonate explosives on enemy targets. At the start of the game Aiden will only have access to the Parker Square's ctOS network, meaning he will be unable to profile individuals in other districts, but you can expand his capabilities by gaining access the ctOS Centers in each district.

There a four types of profile identifications:

Environmental Hacking

In addition to profiling citizens of Chicago, Aiden can also hack the many objects in the environment to help him gain access to areas or eliminate targets without engaging at close range. These cameras are also used to gain viewpoints that would allow you access to control panels that Aiden would normally be unable to see, so when you enter any restricted area it's a good idea to  search for ctOS cameras that can give you a lay of the land before you enter.

In addition to cameras, many objects in the environment can be hacked to create distractions or as offensive tools in combat. Objects such as junction boxes, containers, lifts and cranes, doors,  gates, and even the explosives carried on foes can be hacked to give Aiden a significant advantage in battle.

Crafting

Crafting is the primary way of obtaining tools, used by Aiden in combat to kill or disrupt enemies. In order to craft tools you will need to obtain certain components and unlock the ability to create them through Progression & Skills. There are a total of five components, each obtained either by purchasing them from shops or finding Items of Interest, including the System Keys, which are only found by hacking citizen phones or rarely during campaign missions.

The following table covers the required components for each tool and what they would cost to purchase at Tobias' shop:

Citizen Interactions

The citizens of Chicago offer Aiden a plethora of opportunities to learn information and gain rewards, but remember that all actions have consequences either in a positive or negative way.

Citizen Rewards

Citizens marked with a blue diamond offer special rewards when hacked, though manually weeding them out in a mass of Chicago's inhabitants can be tiresome, but after completing Open Your World, you can purchase the Profiler Optimization skill, which will automatically highlight these individuals.

Bank Accounts
Hacking these individuals will allow you access to their bank information and accounts, but in order to get the cash you'll need to visit an ATM machine to withdraw the money. There are two types of accounts: Standard and Rich accounts. The only difference between the accounts is the amount of money received for them.

System Keys
System Keys are found in many locations, but they can also be hacked from individual's phones. These valuable items allow you to craft certain one-time items.

Songsneak
Sometimes an individual will have a song on their phone that you don't own. Hack their phone and add it to your songsneak so you can play it in the car or when running on foot.

Car on Demand
Similar to Songsneak, individuals will sometimes have access to a car you don't have in your vehicle database. Hacking the phone will add it to your list of vehicles available in the Car On-Demand app.

Items of Interest
Sometimes Aiden will intercept a communication between two individuals that will indicate a drop location for packages, usually containing cash or a crafting component. While you have a long time to collect the bag, the police will eventually arrive to confiscate the bag.

Crimes Detected

Once in a while you may hack an individual's phone or receive and update that a possible crime is about to occur in the area. You have two options: help out the potential victim or let the crime occur. While you lose nothing for letting the crime occur, you do not gain the positive Reputation that preventing the crime would grant.

A crime area will appear on the map, indicated by a blue triangle with a light blue field around it. You will know when you find the potential crime when the Profiler indicates in yellow that the person is either a potential Victim or Criminal. You then need to wait for the crime to begin to intervene.

You want to wait to intervene until the following occurs:

  • The information bar on either person reaches 96% or higher
  • The information bar rating turns red
  • The alert icon above the criminals head turns to a yellow exclamation point, but not before the alert turns red

If you are spotted before this occurs, criminals may refrain from performing a criminal act and you will miss out of the Reputation Points gained for the side quests. Once the crime begins you want to rush in before the criminal can kill the target, increasing your reward at the end of the side mission. Additionally, taking out the criminal in a non-lethal way will also increase your Reputation, so try and run them down and take them out with a melee attack.

Rewards: Quick Switch Skill (Catch 1 Criminal), Chrome Weapon (Catch 10 Criminals), Read-Only Trophy/Achievement (Catch 20 Criminals)

Reputation & Heat Level

The Reputation system keeps track of your actions and represents how the citizens perceive Aiden. Having a Reputation in the positive will make the people of Chicago react positively to you, while a negative Reputation will make the game more difficult due to the citizens reporting you to the cops.

Most actions won't affect the Reputation, but the following do:

  • Negative Actions
    • Kneecap a cop
    • Wounded a cop
    • Killing a cop
    • Wounded a civilian
    • Killing a civilian
    • Letting a criminal flee
    • Killing a victim or letting them be killed
    • Holding up a Business
    • Using explosives with a civilian witness
    • Having a witness complete an emergency call
    • Exploding a large scenery object (such as a large propane tank, gas station, etc)
  • Positive Actions
    • Rescue civilians
    • Non-lethal takedown a criminal
    • Killing a criminal
    • Saving a victim
    • Complete a Main Mission or Investigation
    • Watch random citizen events (such as a mime artist, etc)
    • Participate in vigilante events

The Heat level determines how difficult and how numerous the amount of cops are when you are detected via a Police Search or when the cops arrive as part of a mission. It is generally a good idea to avoid the cops when possible, as hostile actions against the cops will only lead to more encounters with the cops. The only way to reset your Heat level is to head to a Hideout and take a nap.

Level 1VehiclesVehiclesVehicles
Level 2VehiclesVehiclesVehicles + helicopter
Level 3Vehicles + helicopterVehicles + helicopterVehicles + helicopter
Level 4Vehicles + helicopterVehicles + helicopterVehicles + helicopter
Level 5Vehicles + helicopterVehicles + helicopterVehicles + helicopter

At levels 1 and 2 the cops will be armed with pistols and shotguns, while at level 3 the cops armed with assault rifles and SMGs. At level 4 and 5, SWAT team members will attack in black SUVs and are heavily armed.

Shops

Stopping at shops between missions to stock up is never a bad idea. Besides shopping you can also steal cash from the register by waving your gun, followed by the cops being called. In addition to the cops being called for sticking the shopkeeper up, you can also have the cops called on you if your Reputation is too low and Aiden appears in the news.

See Shop Lists for more information on individual shops and what they each offer.

Activities

There are a number of activities that Aiden can take part in around Chicago, some of which offer rewards.

City Games

Cash Runs
Cash Runs are parkour-based AR phone games with the object to collect large gold coins and avoid big red skulls. You can make your own courses using the Challenges App, but there are plenty to play if you don't wish to. You should take a first run at walking speed to get the lay of the track since Cash Runs are all about memory and precision. You can rearrange objects in the city to make the track easier for you, but in the end you will need to know when and where to sprint at full pace and when to slow up.
Rewards:P-9MM Weapon (Earn 1 Gold Star)
Blast Resistance Skill (Earn 3 Gold Stars)
Chess
While Watch Dogs has a standard Chess game, there are also four different types of modes to play: Capture, End Game, Path, and Survival. In Capture puzzles you must prevent pawns from reaching the other side of the board. In End Game puzzles you must checkmate your opponent in a specific number of moves. In Path puzzles you must capture all pieces on the board in as few moves as possible. In Survival puzzles you must keep your King from being checkmated for a specific number of moves.
Rewards:Maximize Focus Skill (Complete 10 Chess Puzzles)
Drinking Games
A test of concentration and reflexes, the Drinking game require you to move the highlighted circle over the buttons indicated on the screen and press them. Unlike many of the other games, the Drinking game offers a substantial cash reward that is handy at the beginning of the game.
Rewards:Piledriver Weapon (Reach the 5th Level vs. 1 Opponent)
Social Lubricant trophy/achievement (Complete the 10th Level vs 3 Opponents)
NVZN
The NVZN can be accessed at the NVZN Graffiti or in the smartphone app at any time. The object is to kill the invaders before time runs out, with every 4th wave becoming a bonus wave and the 13th wave being the most difficult. This is best done in locations without civilians, such as the islands in the game, and with all skills that increase Focus purchased.
Rewards:Auto Weapons Expert Skill (Reach Level 5)
Poker Games
There are games of Texas Hold 'Em in many locations of the city, many of which have ctOS cameras that allow you to look at your opponents hands. In addition to cheating by sneaking a look at cards, your phone will also show the stress levels to determine if your opponent is bluffing.
Rewards:Sayonara Le Vehicle (Clear Out 1 Table)
Shell Games
A popular game one might see on the streets, your object is to follow the ball as it is shuffled via cups on the table. Watch out for the hustler switching the ball from one cup to another when the cups tip slightly and use Focus to help you pass the harder levels.
Rewards:xP Bonus (Beat 3 Levels)

Digital Trips

Digital Trips are pills that can be taken to transport you into alternate versions of Chicago while high. There are a total of 5 different trips, all of which you should visit to unlock the free outfit at the Clothing shops in town.

Slot Machines

There are three types of Slot Machines in Watch Dogs: Regular, Multi-Line, and Nudges & Holds. In some cases you can hack the machines, but in other cases you will only receive information on the machines, indicating if the Jackpot was hit recently.

Progression & Skills

Aiden starts out with basic abilities, but as you progress through the game and gain experience for your actions you can unlock new abilities by purchasing them with points. Skills are broken up into four skill trees: Driving, Hacking, Combat, and Crafted Items.

The following tables cover the skills and the required skill points to purchase each skill:

Walkthrough

Act 1: Bottom of the Eighth

Like all games, our first mission acts as a tutorial to get us into the swing of things.

After beating up Maurice, the bastard who killed Aiden's niece in the opening sequence, you get the opportunity to threaten him with a little bit of force. Go ahead and follow the on screen prompts to pull out your gun and fire. After a short scene you will be prompted to avoid an attack with your first QTE, but even if you fail to press it the game will continue. Luckily for Maurice we aren't stone cold killers, but that doesn't mean we're finished with him.

Before you move on to the next objective of checking out Maurice's phone, take a moment to look around. Inside this small room, and in many places throughout the game, you can find random highlighted objects that offer you special items used in Crafting. Make sure to keep an eye out for these are you progress through the areas.

If you want you can hack the soda machine to dispense some caffeine goodness and check out what your phone says about Maurice when you target him. You can now move on to the objective of hacking Maurice's phone by targeting it and holding down the Hack button.

Audio Logs can be found throughout Chicago and if you take the time to find all 101 you might even get a nifty prize. Additionally, this is the first of the Burner Phones you will find in the game, with more to find throughout the game.

You can now exit through the nearby door and head down the hall for a scene.

After meeting up with your crazy buddy, Jordi Chin, you'll need to make your way through the tunnels without being spotted by the police. You have two options for corridors, but you should head past the soda machines and through the mesh fencing to enter the office on your left to allow you to grab some random items before deciding where you want to go. The choice you make will depend on if you want to do the passive, yet slightly more difficult route, or the aggressive route.

Stealth Route - Avoid Detection

Return into the hall and make sure to take the eastern route, the one without the soda machines, to a pallet. From here, you only need to wait for the coast to be clear to make your way up the ramp and avoid the guards completely.

Aggressive Route - Distraction & Takedown

The key to the aggressive route is to hack the environment around you to distract the guards so that you can stealthily take them out. From the office with the supplies you should see a pitching machine. When the officer outside the office is close enough you can hack the machine by holding the Hack button to make it pitch and lure the guard over. This will allow you to sneak up behind him and take him down quietly. You can now proceed to the van near the second guard.

Approach the van from its right side, so that you are behind it facing the guard, and you should spot a phone on the metal grates behind him. This handy little thing can be hacked to distract the guard with what I can only assume is a very messed up dog bark, allowing you to sneak up and assault him.

No matter which path you take you will find yourself at a dead end with only one place to go, up and over the dumpster and railing. The double doors are locked, but that is no problem for Aiden. As the game suggests, hack into the camera near the door and then follow the stream from camera to camera until you reach one that is above the location of the two guards and across from the control switch you need to hack to unlock the door. Activate the switch and then cancel out to return to Aiden and progress.

In the lower court you will automatically hide behind a counter with your focus on a nearby guard who is determined to hold his post unless you do something. Grab the Electronic Parts from the table and then open your Weapon Wheel. Using the right stick, select the "Lure" option and then craft a Lure. With Lure in hand you can now distract the guard by throwing it on the wall on the right side of the screen.

If you want to explore the area, sneak up behind the guard by going around the concession stand and hitting him for a takedown. If you want to avoid taking out the poor man only doing his job, you can stick to the left wall and make your way all the way back to the left of the escalator. There, climb the scaffolding to reach the upper level and enter the Lounge.

The Lounge area is crawling with pissed off patrons and on the ball guards that are just itching to raise the alarm should they see you. You will want to get as much information as possible before moving on, so take the time to access the cameras in the area to learn the layout and tag the five officers. Before you move on, look for the patrons in the bar with blue diamond and blue text when targeted with the Profiler. These individuals can be hacked to gain sensitive information, such as bank account information. Once you are ready, head behind the bar and make your way out the doors on the other side of the room to proceed.

As you leave the Lounge, take a moment to examine the ATM and get your cash from the hacks performed in the Lounge and then proceed for a quick call to an associate. You now need to find a security guard with access to the server room, so hack the camera located inside the trophy room and then hack another one to spot the security guard.

As the game indicates, you can hack this guard for sensitive information in the form of the server room code. After getting the code, hack the security router on the left side of the room to gain access to the server room and then perform one more hack to automatically return to Aiden. You can now open up your Weapon Wheel to access the Blackout option and plunge the whole stadium into darkness.

You now need to make your way out of the stadium, but if you wish to take out the cops for some ammunition you can. Note that if you are caught you will fail the mission, so make the choice for yourself. If you wish to avoid the cops, simply enter the trophy room and hang a left and follow the wall around to an escalator that leads down and out of the building.

The objective is to escape the police and meet up at the Owl Motel, but there are a few paths to take to achieve this. While it may seem like leaving the area on foot is a good idea, this usually will lead to Aiden being caught and killed. Instead, you should get in the car that Jordi left for us, but first you need to leave the building through the bar. Once outside, sprint down the steps and turn left to cross the street into a small garage with the car waiting.

The first thing you should do is bring up the map to plot a course to the Owl Motel, located in the south end of town.

Stealth Route - Using Alleys to Hide

If you get to the car fast enough you can leave the garage and hide from the cops in the empty lot across the street. If the cops get too close you'll want to hide in your car while the police check out the area. You need to make your way to the Owl Motel by using alleys and staying off the main roads, making sure to avoid roadblocks.

Aggressive Route - Hack the Lights

If you don't want to avoid confrontation and simply want to make you way to the waypoint, head for the Owl Motel and if a chase begins you can hack the traffic lights at any major intersection as you pass through it to trip up the cops. This, in combination with taking side streets or switching cars should get you to the hideout in no time.

Once you reach the motel, check out the area to get the layout down and then head upstairs and enter the apartment door for a scene. You will be forced to buy the ability Gates & Garages before completing the mission.

Act 1: They Can't Hide

Take a moment to check out your skill tree, if you haven't already, and spend your skill points on the abilities you feel are best for you. Check out the apartment, which has some valuable crafting items, and then hack into the laptop for Audio File: Aiden Pearce 05 and the System Key on the desk. You can now sleep in the bed until 6:00 am.

In the morning, exit the apartment and check out the people as you explore the city. Keep your Profiler out to take part in many different kinds of activities, such as stealing people's bank information or finding collectibles like Songsneaks. In some cases you may even run across potential crimes, which is exactly what you are looking for now.

Once the conversation ends, you will be given the option to create a waypoint or you can manual make one by opening up the map. Either way, make your way to the crimes location.

You will know when you find a potential crime when the Profiler indicates in yellow that the person is either a potential Victim or Criminal.

Act 1: Big Brother

Shortly after completing the previous mission you'll get a call from your sister Nicky to remind you that you're late for a very important event, followed by another call from the always pleasant Jordi. Now check the map and make your way to the waypoint to the north to begin this mission.

After a short scene, enter the gated community and make your way to Nicky's backyard for an emotional reunion. Afterwards, enter the house and check out the rooms for items and a funny toy in Jackson's room you can hack. Meanwhile, Nicky will get a phone call that becomes heated enough for Aiden to want to listen in on the other end, so hack her phone to complete the next objective for a scene.

After triangulating the culprit's location, hop in the car directly outside Nicky's house and begin the chase.

Cunning Route - Crash by Hacking

If you purchased any hacking abilities that allow you to hack the environment, you can swiftly end this chase by hacking the lights to slow him down or hacking blockers to make the car crash. Either way, this is an effective way to end the car chase and then chase him on foot.

Defensive Route - Follow the Culprit

Instead of going on the attack, simply follow the culprit at a safe distance without causing a bunch of damage. This will eventually end when the man ditches his car and you will then need to chase him on foot.

Offensive Route - Make a Scene

Go on the attack and ram the car as you chase it. This will usually end with the culprit's car crashing and becoming inoperable or you crashing and having to find a new car and continue the chase, likely either losing the target or never catching up to him until he ditches his car.

Once the man is on foot you can chase him down and take him down with a melee attack. You can now hack his phone to learn more about why he was after Nicky and then make a quick call to BadBoy17 to complete the mission.

Act 1: Foresight

It's time to attack our first ctOS Control Center, but first you need to get some better artillery at the nearest Gun Shop. Head to the southwest part of The Loop and enter the shop to purchase the 416 Assault Rifle for $1,200, which you should easily have. You can also purchase some ammo if you want, but don't go whipping the gun out in public or the police will show up.

Act 1: Backstage Pass

You can now make your way to the ctOS Control Center and head to one of the many gated entrances, each with their own entry strategy.

Western Gate

The main gate can be hacked, but the guard directly behind it can spot you if you try to enter, so head right and hack the control panel near a smaller mesh door to get inside without a fuss. While easy to get inside, you start out on a lower level with no height advantage over the guards.

North Bridge

Take the construction ramp that leads up to the fencing and climb the boxes to get a good overview of the whole area. This gives you easy access to the cameras to get a good layout of the area.

Eastern Gate

There is a guard directly behind the main gate, so instead of opening the gate go around the right side and use the blocks to climb up behind the yellow and black barrier. This gives you a height advantage on most of the guards and access to few different objects to hack for distractions and better views of the area.

Southern Windows

The south side of the area can only be entered through the windows, which are guarded by one man with a hidden camera. You can face him and hack into his hidden camera to see what the Profiler says about you. Unfortunately, without some advanced skills and special weapons to reduce the sound of shooting glass you will likely find this entry unfruitful.

Cunning Route - Using the Cameras

Without even entering the center you can access any camera and move from camera to camera, marking all the guards, until you enter the building. Spot the man that can call for reinforcements and then access the camera in the center of the room. The man leaning against a bunch of pallets smoking has the access code for you to hack without ever entering the grounds.

In order to advance, you will want to aim your camera toward the man with the hidden camera. The object is to distract him to make him walk away from the window and then hack into his camera. This will get you to the access point you are looking for.

Stealth Route - Melee it Up

Using the many distractions like forklifts, car alarms, and explosions (though these draw attention to other guards) you can make your way into the center and quietly take out the guards as you go. This allows for the most XP, but also puts Aiden at risk. That being said, there are two easy kills that can be performed without any risk to Aiden by hacking the crane holding a large container in the air. This will kill two guards, provided one was not distracted, and provide extra coverage as you progress into the area.

Aggressive Route - Pull Out Your Gun

You bought that new gun for a reason, so pull it out and go on a rampage killing everyone in your path. It isn't the best idea, but you will get reinforcements called for added experience.

Once you have the access code, either by getting it through the cameras or by taking out the guards, head for the southeast corner of the upstairs interior level. On the wall, near a phone you can hack to attract one of the previous guards is a control panel you can hack. This is the first time you will deal with hacking an access point, which is basically a small puzzle.

Your objective is to get the blue beam to the lock at the end of each puzzle to advance to the next puzzle and eventually into the server room. As the first access point you should have very little problems, simply start from the bottom of each puzzle and work the beam up or around to the top. When you reach the final puzzle you will notice that one of the switches is red. This means that once you turn it you will have a limited amount of time before it turns back. Simply turn it to make the beam go right and then complete the puzzle quickly to access the server room.

Inside the server room take the time to hack the three video logs, though they are not part of the game's collectibles, and then hack the main server to complete the mission.

Act 1: Hacking Contract

Jordi's asked us to help him with a little contract, but when you reach the rendezvous the missions is locked due to an invasion. It appears that someone is hacking you and before you can continue you'll need to track him down and take him out.

Start by heading down the street under the L-train to a purple search area.

Once you enter the search area the culprit will begin their hack and you'll have limited time to find them. Luckily, this is only a tutorial and the hacker stands out in the crowd easily, running around on the stone plaza. Find 2XTheTap by identifying them with your Profiler, marked in red, and then chase them down. If you fail to take him out quickly the foot chase will soon become a vehicle one.

Once the hacker is taken down the game will bring up the tutorial for hacking other players. If you wish to avoid this you can play offline, though this will lock you out of the online missions as well.

Act 1: Backseat Driver

Grab any vehicle you like and check your map for the objective and set a waypoint to meet up with Jordi's friend in trouble. You want to make it to the man without being spotted by the police scans. To do this, simply stay out of the yellow search zones or leave asap if one pops up on your location. These are easy to avoid in a vehicle, but almost impossible to get out of on foot in the search time. If you are spotted, lead the police on a chase and lose them in the alleys and/or switch vehicles.

Once you reach the Fixer you will take over his car and have to exit the zone quietly or fail the mission. The purple bars on your mini-map indicate police roadblocks that result in an instant fail and there are police cars and a helicopter searching the area. While it is possible to get out of the area quickly with some offensive driving, taking it slow and using the alleys is the best way to get out without being spotted.

Start by leaving the garage and turning right to head south. The police on the main road will be looking around, so wait for them to head off and take the side streets and alleys south. You can get back on the main road after passing the first police car, but don't get too ahead of yourself and think that you're home free. Just before you reach the far south end of the map a police car will pop out and turn the corner, so instead of heading all the way south you will want to take one of the side streets east to reach exit the area.

Once you escape the police's search area you are free to speed demon it to the final waypoint, but just make sure that the car and the Fixer make it there in one piece.

Act 1: Open Your World

BadBoy17 wants to meet up in person...well, okay! Check the map for the meet up point by the Tremont House Hotel tunnels in the northern part of The Loop.

At the objective point, head down the steps to meet up with the lovely "bad boy". The conversation results in Aiden gaining access to all abilities in his skill trees, once you put a point into them. I suggest you put points into some new hacking and crafting abilities, since the majority of combat abilities won't be needed until later missions. After the meet-up you can stay in the tunnels and jack a car, which you can use to drive the short distance to the ctOS underground loading zone.

Stealth Route - Use Distractions

The guard at the entrance faces out and can raise the alarm quickly, so distraction is the best way to take him down quietly. The van near the entrance has a car alarm that can be used to distract the guard while you perform a takedown. The guard inside will soon come to investigate the body, so take cover on the right side of the gate to take him down as he exits.

Inside, there are two guards straight ahead and three more on the other side of the garage. The two straight ahead are easiest to take out, as one can be distracted by the forklift and the other can be attacked from behind. Follow the dark passage and exit out the other side, using the pallets for cover. The three guards here consist of two patrolling the area and one guarding the exit. Hide by the car or pallets and wait for the guard to patrol close enough to get taken down when his back is turned. You can now distract the other two to make them move and take them out.

Aggressive Route - Violence is a Good Answer

This mission does not require stealth, so if you get spotted or just want to go in with aggressive tactics there is nothing stopping you. You can start by shooting the guards by the entrance and then shoot those who come to investigate or hack the Protectors to allow cover for Aiden as you make your way through the area on a murder spree.

Once the coast is clear, examine the garage for crafting components and then head into the next room for a quick chat with Clara. Exit the storage room on the other side and then take cover behind the soda machines.

Aggressive Route - Start a Ruckus

Use the soda machine to bring over the first guard and then get the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 01 on the planter. Slowly make your way around the outer area and wait for the guard that patrols this area to head behind the wall so that when you rush in for the takedown the guards on the top level don't spot you. There are now only two guards on the lower level, one standing stationary by the stairs and one with the access code. The one by the stairs is easier to take out by using a Lure to face him away so you can get a clean kill and his body will usually draw over the guard with the access code the next time he walks by, just make sure you aren't standing by the body.

The upper level has only three guards, but they all support each other by looking at one another. This means that in order to take even one out you will need to turn at least one guard around. The easiest one to take out is the closest one, but in order to do this you need to toss a Lure on the wall behind the guard off to the right so he doesn't see you perform the attack. The final two shouldn't be a problem, as the one with the hidden camera will return to his patrols shortly and allow you to take out the far right guard and then finally the last guard. Make sure to grab the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 02 inside the room with the access point before you hack into it.

Cunning Route - Camera Work

From the soda machines you can stick your head out to hack the camera system. From the first camera, hack the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 01 and then mark as many guards as you can. There are four guards on the lower level, one of which has the access code, and then three more on the floor above. On the upper floor, hack the guard with the hidden camera that patrols into a room and get the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 02. This room also contains the access point, which should be easy to hack now that you have the access code.

This access point is a bit more challenging than the first, with many beams and directions that you can go. You need to get all three beams to the first lock to unlock the point before you can use it to then unlock the final lock on the first puzzle. The second puzzle requires you to zig-zag the beam up and then down and then up again to reach the end and unlock the access point.

Listen to conversation on the phone and then hack the laptop to upload the virus. As soon as the virus gets going you are caught and reinforcements are called in. It is best to stay on the upper level and this is one of the cases where you'll need extreme prejudice to survive. After taking out the guards on the upper level, shoot down at the one or two guards left on the lower level.

Once all of the guards are taken down, the police will begin to scan the area. Since you are on foot it will be almost impossible to outrun the scans, so open the Weapon Wheel and select/craft some Jam Comms and unleash then as you exit the building. If you can find a car to get out of the area quickly, great! If not, continue to Jam Comms so you can get out of the area without being pursued by the police. Once you have escaped the scans you will complete the mission.

Act 1: Thanks for the Tip

After getting a phone call from Clara head to the waypoint in The Loop. Check the alley area for any crafting materials before you proceed to the access point. The access point is blocked by two ctOS boxes in the area, indicated by the two white lines exiting the box. You will need to deactivate both before you can proceed.

The first box is located in the same area as the access point, on an upper level. Turn around from the access point and look up to hack a camera that will allow you access to the first box. The second box is located further down the alley to the east. Drop down and head east to a scissor lift and look up to hack another camera, with the second box directly across the building. With both boxes now unlocked, return to the access point to hack into the apartment.

The meet-up was a trap and you will find yourself ambushed by Fixers. If you activated the blockers you will slow down the men on foot, but there are still snipers in the buildings and more coming from the east alley.

Cunning Route - Explosive Action

Rather than pulling out your gun, take cover behind the railing or Protector by the box and use the cameras to get an eye on the snipers. Both snipers have stupidly stood directly next to junction boxes that can be exploded to take them out. This will give you the height advantage over the rest of the marksmen. You can then pull out your gun and take out the final marksmen as they enter the alley or make their way up the stairs.

Escape Route - Flee the Scene

Instead of dealing with the enemies it is possible to escape the area by exiting into the parking garage stairway. If you plan on doing this, jump down the way you climbed up the first time toward the blue sign with the P on it. From here you can pick up a car and flee, but you will need to lose the men on the streets instead of getting the experience for killing them in the alley.

After escaping or killing all the Fixers, head east to the waypoint at the Forever Sculpture to complete the mission.

Act 1: Remember

This quick interlude focuses on Aiden's memories of the past. Head to St. Joseph Cemetery in Parker Square for a quick scene to complete this mission.

This is not the first Remember event, in fact you may have already accessed the one in the tunnel that connects Parker Square to Pawnee. While it is possible to simply go straight to the cemetery to complete this memory, you might as well stop by both locations at this time.

Remember events will now pop up once in a while after certain story missions. These are great for getting more backstory on Aiden and his family.

After the events, Jordi will call you with a new mission.

Act 1: Not the Pizza Guy

I suggest you get a Spec-Ops weapon due to the silencers they have. This will allow you to take on many foes without alerting their buddies of your location.

Jordi really is a bit of a nutcase, in a fun way, but his warning is serious and you'll need to take care of it. Before leaving Gorman Heights make sure to check the balcony for the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 08.

There are multiple ways into the rail yard, each with their own advantages, but the northeast dock is the quickest infiltration point, being just a swim or boat ride away, and offers a good position to begin a stealth attack.

Stealth Route - Lure them into the Open

If you enter from the northeast you can stealth kill the first guard rather easily when he patrols to the north, but as you make your way deeper into the area you may want to consider tossing a Lure into the open to gather some of the guards. If the enemy is drawn into the open, Jordi will snipe the enemy and allow you to advance without taking any violent action of your own. You can also distract enemies by hacking into their phones, which counts toward a distraction to trigger Jordi to fire. Unfortunately, both of these types of kills do not result in you gaining experience though, so if you can take an enemy on your own you should.

Aggressive Route - Let Jordi Loose

As soon as you engage in open combat Jordi will begin to take out targets on his own. This means that you really only need to take out a few with your own bullets, while luring the others into range of his fire. This will clear the area quickly, but does not net you that great of experience.

Passive Route - Deny Jordi

If you want to try and avoid killing any enemies, or simply want to deny Jordi the fun, take the southwest concrete alley steps to enter the rail yard. Make sure to mark all the enemies with the cameras and then unlock the gate and sneak inside carefully. This is difficult, but not impossible.

No matter your strategy, you will need to enter the door on the west side of the rail yard to continue the mission. After a bit of persuasion, and help from Jordi's bullet in the leg, you'll need to get out of the rail yard.

The way out of the rail yard is most difficult due to the helicopter illuminating the area, so if you have the Disable Helicopter ability this would be a great time to use it. If you don't, keep on the move as your make your way around the area and take shots at those you come across. It is possible to simply escape the area, so if you find yourself having difficulty you can always restart the checkpoint and head straight for an exit before you get surrounded.

Act 1: A Wrench in the Works

This mission begins in the plaza near the Willis Tower. Your task is to find Angelo Tucci's niece in order to hack her phone and learn Angelo's location. As you walk through the area Clara will narrow down the search area to help you find her in Connelly Square. Hack her phone to make a convincingly fake phone call and then hack it again when she calls her uncle. You now need to cut off Angelo before he reaches the prison.

The map is updated with a yellow line that represents Angelo's path to the prison. He is coming from the north, heading south, so going east from you location will cause you to intercept him fairly quickly at a stop light. Your objective is to take down his car, but choosing the best time to do this is important.

Defensive Route - Beating Him on Foot

If you rush directly east you can beat Tucci to the traffic light on the highway entrance. From here you can drop an IED on the right hand lane, NOT WHERE THE YELLOW LINE RUNS. Angelo's detail will need to stop at the light and you can then blow up his car when he runs over the bomb. The only negative side to this is if civilian cars are nearby you will likely kill their occupants.

Offensive Route - Staying in the Car

If you want to just ram him, you run the risk of him getting away as you chase after him. Instead, use the traffic lights to cause a crash and force him out of the car. Once on foot, you can simply run him over with your vehicle and be done with him.

Angelo's protection detail isn't too happy when you show up, so you need to take out Angelo quickly to allow you to deal with his gun touting buddies. Although you can kill his security this is one of those cases where you might as well flee the scene. Once the men give up the chase you will complete the mission.

Act 1: Dressed in Peels

Aiden has some balls to simply walk into the Palin Correctional Center, gun in hand. With a little help from Jordi and his "friend", John Smith is successfully registered and ready to rock. From your cell you can look out the window and hack the hidden cameras on the guards to make your way around the center. You goal is to reach the control room located in the tower on the opposite side of the prison, directly above the words "B Block" on the middle floor, but first you should head for the room on the top floor to pick up the Audio File: Damien Brenks 08. Once you have access to the main control room you can pan the camera to the control panel and pop open your cell door.

Being seen, or having a guard see another guard down, will result in failure of this mission, so being careful and taking the right path is vital.

The best option for this area is to ignore the guards and go straight for the objectives. I find that even when I am not seen, the minute I take down a guard another guard will get suspicious and "detect" me before I can do anything else.

Exit your cell and use the laundry carts and pillars for cover as you make your way to the control room and then exit out the door that leads to the stairwell and head down. Here you can grab the schedule and then get the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 03 on the opposite desk. After a quick chat with Jordi, exit the left door when the guard isn't looking and make your way around the exterior to the next waypoint, unlocking the door to pass.

There are two gates, each with a booth and a guard inside. Luckily, these guards can be taken out to make your path easier without being caught. Start with the guard in the closest booth, when his buddy isn't watching . Now hack into the hidden camera on the second guard to hack into the gate unlock, as well as the objective marker access point. Use the cameras in the quad to spot your mark for a quick scene with some shady guards and then you can now easily take out the second guard. It's now time to ride the elevator to the basement floor.

The corrupt guards are all busy in the laundry room, so take the new weapon in the office and hack the panel to gain access to the laundry room cameras. Jump from one camera to another to hack the panel inside and unlock the gate door to the laundry room.

The guards will not become active until you open the doors to the laundry, but once you do it is on. There are two pressure pipes in this area that can be used to help deal damage on enemies. These can be triggered at the beginning of the fight or during the fight if a guard happens to hide near it. This will only deal minimal damage, but it can help you when you are having a tough time getting to certain guards due to their hiding position. Keep them in mind while sticking to the outside of the area and using the counters for cover.

When all the guards are defeat an Enforcer will enter the room. This beast is heavily armored and can eat up a ton of shotgun shells before he goes down. There are a few ways to handle this to make the fight short and conserve your ammo.

Cunning Route - Explosive Office

Inside the office on the raised platform is a junction box that you can hack to cause an explosion. Head for the office, luring the Enforcer toward you, and when he stands near the box hack it to take him out. Depending on his distance he may go down permanently, but don't put your gun away until you know for use.

Aggressive Route - Enforcer Takedown

If you have the Enforcer Takedown ability you can run in and melee the enforcer to take him down swiftly. This is unlikely, but who knows what you have bought.

Aggressive Route - Burning Ammo

Luckily there is an ammo box in the office, so if you need to simply go toe to toe with this guy you can always run to the office for more bullets. Use the islands and cover and peak out for a few shots and then take cover again. This will keep you from taking damage, which is a good thing since this guy can take Aiden down in a few shots.

With the Enforcer down you only need to deal with two more guards before heading to the waypoint. If you got a little trigger happy and shot the survivor you will simply need to exit the prison, but miss out on the oh-so-scary phone threat. Either way, you are left to make your way to the elevator where Jordi has left you a care packing, all your little toys.

After a quick change performance by Aiden, head through the halls and enter the office by the locked gate. Inside, grab any crafting materials and the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 04 before you unlock the gate. Once you step outside you need to make a major choice.

Escape Route - Flee the Scene

If you wish to get out of there without a fight, exit the building and turn left. Head for the gap in the railing and leap off the building onto the platform attached to the L-train. From here you can jump onto the L-train tracks and then jump down and steal a car. After that you will simply need to lose them in a car chase.

Aggressive Route - Clear the Area

While trying to take on the police will only result in increasing your heat level to the point where helicopters will ride in is pointless, you can take the enemies out in the area and then jack a car for a getaway. This will get you minor experience, but you will then need to spend a decent amount of time losing the police.

Once you have escaped the police area you will complete the area and Act 1.

Act 2: Hold On, Kiddo

Head to the plaza on the eastern side of the western-most island in the Loop to meet up with Damien. Damien has played us, again, and this time Aiden's family is paying the price.

Rush over to Nicky's house for another confrontation with your old partner to find out what has happened with Nicky and then triangulate Jackson's location. Hop in the neighbor's car and quickly make your way to the L-train station for a scene.

You need to hack the train so that it leaves the station before the Fixer's board it and find Jackson. You have a few options to deal with the Fixer's, but I suggest you head to the south side of the station, across the street.

You can now set up any traps and hack the cameras when ready to get the training running.

Aggressive Route - Stop Them at the Station

If you have IED's crafted before this part of the section you can quickly toss them at the two cars to take them out. This will halt them in their tracks and you will only need to mop up the remaining enemies to advance the mission.

Cunning Route - Block the Path

The first intersection that the two cars pass has a set of Blockers that you can hack if you have the ability. This will stop at least one car, which you can ignore, and then you need to follow the second. Ram the second, or use Traffic Lights, to cause them to crash and burn and then mop up the remaining enemies.

Aggressive Route - Spin Outs

If you miss the opportunities to hack the Blockers or Traffic Lights, simply go for ramming. Once you take one car out you can ignore the occupants and continue after the second car, as you are not required to kill the Fixers until the objective updates. Watch out for more hacking opportunities as you chase the cars down and you should be able to get them before they reach the next station.

After the Fixers are taken care of you can head to the next station and meet up with Jackson.

Act 2: Tools of the Trade

Head to Papa B's in Parker Square for a quick interlude. You are required to buy at least 1 component, but you can buy as much as you like. If you have also managed to get some items to sell you should do so now. By now you should already have a good handle on crafting, but if you need more information you can check the Crafting section at the top of this guide.

Act 2: Breakable Things

Before you can accept this mission you must unlock the Brandon Docks ctOS Center. This can be done earlier in the game or undertaken directly before.

You need to infiltrate the Racine Boat Restoration yard in Brandon Docks to find the man working for Damien. There are multiple ways to enter the building, each with advantages and disadvantages.

Western Gate

With lots of cover opportunities and very few guards in the vicinity this is a good entrance to begin a stealth route. From the entrance you can take care of most of the outside threats without entering the Warehouse, which is heavily guarded. Close the door to the Warehouse to keep the guards inside from seeing you violence outside.

Northern Gate

Entering though the door, rather than the main gate, the area has less cover but still serves as a good entrance to take out the exterior enemies. Watch out for the guard by the southern Warehouse ramp that can spot you when you take out the first guard. Close the door to the Warehouse to keep the guards inside from seeing you violence outside.

Southern Gate

This access point will have you take on the enemies in the Warehouse first, rather than last. It is a great spot to begin an aggressive route, letting you take them out without being pinned down in the open.

Once the guards outside are taken care of you will need to deal with the final four guards in the Warehouse, one of which is an Enforcer. Open the door, if you closed it during you rampage outside, and then hack the camera by the door. You can now choose to hack the cameras to find the Head Office access code or kill the guards inside.

I find it easier to simply take out the guards so that the rest of the mission is easier. The Enforcer should be your main target, since any actions against the guard will cause them to become aggressive and dealing with him first will make the rest of the guards easier handle. From the camera in the Warehouse you should spot an explosive panel on the floor that the Enforcer will walk directly by. Hacking the panel will cause a chain reaction to kill both guards in the area and you can deal with the final two guards, who have no idea where you are.

After clearing the area, search for crafting items and grab the Audio File: Damien Brenks 03 from the Warehouse. Make sure to hack the access code from the downed guard and head upstairs to the Main Office and hack the computer for a scene.

Racine is on the run and we need to catch him before he gets away. As you leave the office an Enforcer will be waiting to attack, but he has been stupid enough to stand right next to a junction box. You now need to head after Racine, but rather than heading south toward him you should head north for a car. Grab a durable vehicle, or truck, and then drive directly west. Racine will drive west and then turn north at the second intersection, where you can wait to hack the light to slow him down and slam into him to stop his progress.

Racine will hop out of his car and head off in search of another one when his car becomes inoperable. Make sure to ignore his reinforcements and run him down to complete the objective and then escape.

Act 2: Collateral

Back at the Owl Motel, Clara will seem to know more than she is willing to tell you, but before you can question her about it Fixers will barge in on you lovebirds. Once you gain control you will quickly need to shoot the man holding Clara, or die and have to try again.

You'll now need to escape the motel, under heavy fire from above and below. Focus your fire on the enemies as they make their way up to the same floor as you, ignoring the men above until you can get a better position on them and you aren't taking fire from others while dealing with them. If you don't have any IED's or Frag Grenades crafted, make them asap so that when the cars arrive below you can throw some down to kill them before they get a chance to spread out or head upstairs.

Slowly make your way to the opposite stairs and once the first wave of enemies is defeated three snipers will appear on the opposite roof, the one above Aiden's apartment. Take your time in getting a good aim on one and go for headshots to take them out quickly. Once they are dead, head to the ground floor and take cover somewhere near the street entrance.

The men will call for backup and two cars will arrive, one in the alley by Clara's car and the other through the main entrance. Quickly blow up the main car with an IED before the men get out and then take cover on a planter by the opposite stairwell. There is a junction box by the door that the men will come through that can be hacked to kill at least one or two and then you only need to finish off the rest.

You can now escort Clara to her car and deal with the final arrivals before making your escape from the area.

Act 2: One Foot in the Grave

Meet up with Clara in The Loop for a scene and then locate the camera on the light pole nearby. Follow the feed to the camera to access the Camera HDD for another scene and get your next target, a homeless man names Tobias. Follow Clara, listening to her story, until you reach Tobias' shop and can check the surrounding area.

There are numerous crafting materials in the area, but the one thing you should be sure to get is the burner phone. The phone with the Audio File: Maurice Vega 02 is located in the southeast side of the search zone inside a box house by a picnic table.

Take out your Profiler and search the area for the man on the phone and hack into his conversation with Tobias. While the chat is going, make your way to the underpass toward the car, you'll need it in a minute. Once the Fixers head off for Tobias you'll want to rush after them, using the Traffic Lights to stop or slow them down. By now you should be pretty capable of taking out a target in a car, so do so and then either escape or kill his lackeys.

Head for the waypoint in Parker Square and make your way into the suspicious basement where Tobias is enjoying poker. Sit down to join them for a hand of Texas Hold 'Em and enjoy the game, for the very short time you can, while Aiden slowly probes Tobias with questions. It won't be long before Tobias gets spooked and bolts.

Chase Tobias down quickly, jumping over the ledges to catch up, and tackle him to complete the mission.

You can return to the house for some Hold 'Em at any time. This and other Mini-Games are available throughout the city. Tobias' Shop is also open and offers a variety of crafted tools ready-made.

Act 2: A Blank Spot There-ish

Head to the swing bridge by Tobias' Shop to start the mission and then hack the bridge before crossing it. There are three spots you need to investigate to restore power.

Northwest Generator

Head straight from the bridge until you reach two containers, one blue and one red, and then grab the Audio File: Engineers 01 on the other side. Backtrack east to the first part of the buildings and then head north between some containers and a fence to reach a scissor lift that will take you to the roof. The gate is locked but you can easily head around to the right of the fencing and jump from camera to camera to unlock the gate. From here you should have no issue reaching the first generator.

Middle Generator

Head south past all the containers and when the waypoint is directly east of you, down an alley, take a left and get the Audio File: Engineers 02 in hiding at a dead end. Head back a bit and look up to find a stacking crane that you can hack to hitch a ride up. Exit the other side of the container and turn left to climb over another container and drop on the other side. Here, another stack of containers will provide you a way up to the roof where you can hack another camera to open the gate and then ride down to the next generator.

Southern Generator

Head south to the locked gate and hack the cameras as you follow the data flow to the unlock panel. Once the gate is open, head inside and turn right and climb up on top of the white container before hacking the crane. Hop off the crane and stop to the left of the open green container and look down to get the Audio File: Engineer 03. Now head through the green container and turn on the final generator.

There are 3 more Audio Logs available on Abbot Island that you can get now or come back for later. See Engineer Logs for more information.

Head back outside the gate to the container and enter to gain access to the bunker. Inside, hack the laptop and then turn on the power for Clara to complete the mission.

Act 2: Jury-Rigged

Before you can accept this mission you must unlock The Wards ctOS Center. This can be done earlier in the game or undertaken directly before.

The Rossi-Fremont Tenements area is packed with Viceroy and a sniper, all of which will not hesitate to become aggressive toward Aiden on sight. There are many entrances to the yard, but I find that the southwest through a fence door with wood panels is the easiest to handle.

While many of the Viceroys are wearing explosive devices, explosions will cause your enemies to investigate and go off their normal pattern. If you plan to follow this stealth route I suggest you do not activate any explosives unless indicated to.

Enter the southwest door and hide behind the wood panels and take a look around. You'll notice that a Viceroy sniper in the house at the middle of the area is looking around, but we can avoid him for a minute and use the concrete structures to head east. Your target is to get to the building entrance in the middle and take out the sniper that makes progress through the west side of the area difficult. Once the sniper is taken care of you can grab the Audio File: Maurice Vega 03 on the opposite side of the building and then head back downstairs.

The best route to take is counter-clockwise, using the concrete and then the cars to reach the Viceroy by the main gate and take him down. Keep heading north around the green container and wait for the patrolling Viceroy to either be close enough to activate the forklift and distract him for a takedown or head off into the center so you can take out the stationary one. Once the stationary guard is taken down you can disable the first terminal and if the patrolling Viceroy is still alive he will likely come to investigate his fallen buddy at some point, allowing you to take him down as well.

Continue around the outside of the area and you should come across the Audio File: Iraq 02 on some pipes. The building to the east has two snipers on it, causing a major problem when trying to get close. Luckily, both snipers are standing next to junction boxes that you can explode to take them out, but first you'll need to get in close enough.

The left sniper is easy to get to, since we have already cleared a path. Using cover, get close enough to the left sniper to get a headshot on him and then kill the Viceroy blocking your path to the right sniper. Once cleared, use cover to make your way over enough to spot the right sniper and headshot him. This should make it easy to clear out the final Viceroy and deactivate the two remaining terminals.

Once you unlock all three terminals a group of reinforcements will arrive between you and the ctOS Tower. This is where aggressive force, if you haven't already been using it, comes in handy. Use cover and keep moving so that their grenades don't hit you and you should take them all out in no time. Once it is clear, head toward the waypoint to grab the Audio File: Iraq 01 and then activate the tower.

After activating the tower you will need to either escape or destroy the reinforcements. Luckily they all come through the same gate, so a couple of bombs or proximity IED's to take out the cars as they arrive and then deal with the remaining enemies will end the mission pretty quickly.

Act 2: Grandma's Bulldog

Back at The Bunker Aiden will finally admit he NEEDS Clara and the two will team up. Use the laptop to access the Viceroy's hangout and then hack the first camera to reach the access point. This access point is timed and can be difficult to figure out, but don't panic and take your time to figure it out. Focus on unlocking the nodes closest to the beginning point and then use those to reach the ones further away until you solve the puzzle.

Once through the network you'll be deeper inside the building with the Audio File: Iraq 03 sitting on the island below. You'll need to hack the elevator button and then quickly hack the camera inside the elevator before the doors close to progress.

There are a bunch of cameras in the next area and you should slowly work your way up until you can access the hidden camera on one of the Viceroy, who will lead you down a hall where you can hack another camera and then the next access point. This puzzle is actually pretty easy to solve due to the nodes all being in line with each other along a path. Simply unlock all the nodes and then shift the node to the right of the beginning point to the final lock and make sure it has a beam to complete the puzzle.

Deeper inside the tenement is the arcade room with some familiar sounding games and then hack the camera by the pool table off to the right. From here you can access a computer with an interesting email and then hack the camera on the other laptop. Ignore the camera on the ATM and pan up to hack a camera above you, where you can find the Audio File: Iraq 04 on the floor. Follow the cameras to another access point that only has two nodes that need to be unlocked.

Hack the cameras to get to the main room and grab the Audio File: Iraq 05 nearby. You want to hack the camera on the wall inside the room to continue to make your way across the rooms to a hall with another Viceroy carrying a hidden camera. This will lead you to a laptop with a camera that has another camera directly across from it, which will lead to a locked door. After a long scene you will complete the mission.

Take a look at the new and improved hideout that Clara has made a pretty comfy place, complete with a bed and wardrobe for you to change your clothes.

Act 2: Not a Job for Tyrone

Head to the waypoint behind Bedbug's house in The Wards and then head west to find Tyrone Hayes' router and hack into it. This access point is huge with lots of different nodes to unlock. Start with the T so that the flow is going north and south and then use the other nodes to unlock the node to the left of the T. From there you should have opened it up enough to allow you to complete the puzzle, especially since there is no time limit.

On the other end you will find Bedbug, who is standing in perfect position for you to install a tracker onto his phone, but don't forget to enjoy the funny conversation and learn where Bedbug got his name.

After a little while a SUV will pull up to pick up our lady's man and we will need to tail him. Stay out of sight and range of him until he gets in the SUV and then hop in the nearest car and tail him. The SUV will slowly make its way around, so just keep at a distance and you should be fine. When the SUV heads through the first restricted zone, hang a right and follow along side it until the end and then wait for it to pass in front of you. When you reach the second restricted area Bedbug will hop out and you'll need to tail him on foot, or by camera.

Following Bedbug by camera is much safer and will negate the risk of being spotted. Hop out of the car on the right side of the entrance and hack into the camera on the buildings nearby. From here you can follow Bedbug's path as he makes his way through the area. You won't need to worry about any proximity warnings, as he will always come into view at some point.

After a few conversations Bedbug will get into a confrontation with a gang member named Rabbit. As the objective updates you can pop the Regulator behind Bedbug to help Rabbit out and then call Rabbit.

Cunning Route - Escort via Camera

Using patience and watching the patrol of the Viceroy you can get Rabbit out pretty easily. Start by waiting for the nearest guard to walk away from the camera and move Rabbit up to the left side of the pallets. Hack the camera to your left (you may need to move Aiden deeper into the restricted zone to be close enough to access it) and then move Rabbit to the next set of pallets when it's clear. You can now have him hide at the back of the truck when the Viceroy moves away.

You'll need a better view of the area, so hack the cameras to access the camera attached to the building on the other side of the truck, giving you a view of the Viceroy walking on the street. Move Rabbit to the boxes by the street and then wait until the Viceroy turns away to move Rabbit across the street. Move him off to the fence and then hack the camera above him for a new view.

The Viceroy here walks up and down on the other side of the truck, allowing you to use the truck as cover. Wait for him to move away from the camera and move Rabbit to the right side of the truck. Continue along the truck and then when it is clear you can move him past the fence to some pallets in the distance, where you can hack another camera.

The Viceroy moves in a triangle between the three pallets here, so make sure to learn his pattern. Once he moves away from the left pallet you can move Rabbit to it and then hack the camera above. Wait for the Viceroy to turn around and move away from the camera again and then move Rabbit to the left and he will walk himself out.

Aggressive Route - Who Cares About a Rabbit

Rabbit dying does not fail the missions. It is possible to let him be killed and then simply hack his phone to complete the objective.

Once Rabbit is clear you can leave the area to complete the mission or go on a rampage and kill the Viceroy, since you no long need to stay quiet.

Act 2: Uninvited

As usual, Jordi is his normal nutty self and wants use to dispose of some of his old bodies...via an IED bomb. Well, at least you get to blow up an ice cream truck, right?

After the death of the ice cream truck, grab a vehicle from the alley and make your way to the Brick Factory. At the waypoint you can grab some IED's, left by who knows, and then hack into the Audio File: Bedbug 02. I suggest you check out the area to learn where the environmental traps are and put up the Protectors to prepare for the fight ahead. Once you are ready, hack into the Camera HDD to begin a countdown.

You have two minutes to place traps and prepare for the incoming enemies. I suggest you place at least two bombs on each side of the area, one on each of the places marked as car parking spots and then one by the main gate and another by the small door in the fence on the east side. After all traps are up, head up the stairs on the east side of the area and then use the cameras to spot incoming enemies. Use the cameras to track the incoming enemies and blow the bombs when needed to take out the enemies. If they manage to get inside the factory you'll need to take them out with your firearms, but you should have a height advantage on the enemies below.

A phone left by one of the Viceroy will ring, but ignore it and make sure you are on the west side of the area before you hack into it. The phone call is from Bedbug, but the surviving Viceroy is going to be our target. Once he hops in the car and runs for it you can chase after him in another vehicle chase. There are way too many of these.

It is possible to kill the Viceroy before he even gets in his car. To do this you want to ignore the phone call and grab a car out back and park it facing east, the direction without the gate (a car will also spawn on this location if you reload the last checkpoint enough, but make sure to turn it around). Stand next to the car door and hack the phone and then hop inside and hit the gas, which will drive you straight into the Viceroy that has dropped out of thin air.

Once the Viceroy is dealt with you can meet up with Bedbug in The Loop, but don't head straight for his car or you'll be spotted and fail the mission. Instead, creep your way into the park and follow him using the small walls and bushes, Assassin's Creed style, and call his phone. Wait for his buddies to leave and then hack the junction box to blackmail Bedbug and complete the mission.

Act 2: Breadcrumbs

Head to the waypoint in The Loop, just before reaching Mad Mile, and begin the mission. The man nearby will slowly walk to the news stand and make an exchange for the briefcase. Instead of following the briefcase on the patio, jump the fence and travel behind the news stand while keeping the holder in view. He will hand off the case to another man that will continue to walk away from Aiden, do not follow him. Eventually the man will head down the stairs on the far side of the patio and circle back toward you to get on the boat.

When you objective changes, hop on the motorcycle on the lower patio by Aiden's position and get a move on. Don't go at top speed, instead stay in control and follow the boat. You can hit the throttle on straight away parts, but make sure to slow down before hitting any stairs. You do not need to stay close to it, but you want to make sure you stay just within range. Eventually you'll reach the closed dock where the boat stops.

It is possible to get to the briefcase without a fight by entering from the south side of the marina. Wait for the guard to head up the dock before you enter the restricted zone and then exit the water on the west side of the dock. Stay close to the metal wall as you follow him and then hop over and take him out as he reaches the top, out of view of the guard on the east side of the slipway. You can now access the briefcase without worry and then escape or take the time to defeat the enemies for some experience.

Act 2: Stare into the Abyss

Before you can accept this mission you must unlock the Mad Mile ctOS Center. This can be done earlier in the game or undertaken directly before.

Head to the car showroom in Mad Mile and hack the access point, which is an easy yet timed puzzle. Inside, you'll spot Crispin picking out his new ride and then given the objective to eliminate him and hack his phone. Crispin hangs out in a back room where you can't target him and any action on the guards will alert him, causing him to hop in his new ride and drive away.

Aggressive Route - Proximity Escape

Head along the side of the building toward the back where Crispin is and hide behind the planter directly in front of his car. Equip the Proximity IED and toss it on the ground where the car will exit so that when you draw attention he will hop in the car and drive right into the IED, killing him. You can then quickly hack his phone and choose to either fight the enemies or escape in one of the nearby cars.

Stealth Route - Lure Him Out

Crispin is a little jumpy and any noise will draw his attention. If you head to the same side of the building as the one above, the side that his car is facing, you can grab one of the nearby cars and hit a lamp post. This will cause Crispin to leave the office and investigate, allowing you to kill him with a melee strike. You can then quickly hack his phone and choose to either fight the enemies or escape in one of the nearby cars.

After dealing with the business at the showroom you can make your way to the next waypoint, Club Infinite 92. Enter the building and follow the host to the back room, where you may recognize the young lady on the table, and watch the scene.

Act 2: A Risky Bid

After presenting your invite and handing over your weapons you can investigate the area. The Audio File: Lucky Quinn 02 can be found in the room next to the bedroom and you can hack the access point on the ceiling for a scene behind locked doors. Exit out the door on the other side of the hall and then follow the host to a stairwell, but take a moment to listen in on some of the buyer conversations if you want. Now continue up the stairs toward Quinn for a scene.

Hack Iraq's dogtags when given the chance and when you finally gain control again you'll need to escape without being detected. There is no way you can go out the way you came, so head straight and enter the office. Takedown the guard silently and then hack the Audio File: Lucky Quinn 01 at the bottom of the stairs before heading down when the coast is clear. Ignore the main room and head down into the sewer system, where another guard can be taken down.

Head through the sewer, taking out another guard and climb up the other side and take cover asap. A guard patrols down the hall here, so make sure he is walking away with plenty of cover between him and the other men when you take him down and then continue around the outside of the area. You can avoid the next guard or take him out when he isn't looking and then head up the stairs to arm yourself again.

Use the camera to unlock the gate and then head through the construction area for a scene. When you finally have control you can hack the junction box for a massive explosion that takes out all the enemies in the area, but don't think you are done yet. Two guards on an upper level will begin to pellet you with fire, so move into cover on that side and then take them out with some well placed shots.

With a bit of a breather, craft up any weapons for the upcoming fight and hack the door open to continue. If you have a Spec-Ops weapon, which have a silencer, this area will be fairly easy, as you only need to take out the enemies and they move forward to investigate. If not, you will find the area difficult due to the high number of enemies and the height advantage they have over you. Make the men on the catwalks above a priority first and move around the containers as needed. You can also use the cameras to get a better view of the area and explode some environmental objects.

Once the area is clear you should gather up the ammo and prepare for the next fight. As you progress an Enforcer may come out to play. He has a big ass gun to kill Aiden in a heartbeat, so use the open container on the left side of the alley to block his attacks and take him down with either IED's, Frag Grenades, or the Enforcer Takedown ability.

Continue into the next area for a scene and take cover for another battle. Ignore the nearest guy and hack the camera on the wall nearby to get a view of the area where the enemies exited into. You should be able to use the ground panel to explode one of the men and if you are lucky the Enforcer will head in to investigate, allowing you to drop the crane on him. Be careful about getting into the open as more enemies, including an Enforcer, will come from the second floor of the building ahead and either use a Proximity IED or the junction boxes to take out the group and then head down the stairs.

The red building has a sniper, and the enemies mentioned before if you go in before they come out, as well as plenty of crafting materials and ammo. If you killed most of the enemies already you will simply need to deal with the sniper and gather up supplies before heading for the door.

Don't rush out when you open the door because there is an Enforcer and more enemies outside. Instead, take cover before you open the door and be ready to throw out an IED or grenade. With the Enforcer down you can easily deal with the final two enemies and drive out of the zone in the Viceroy car.

Act 2: Role Model

The best entrance into the JD Trumbet's Seaside Restaurant is via the parking lot to the west. If you want to snipe the area you can take position from the western underpass, or on top of it, but I like to get in close. Use the cars for cover and bring up the Protector to draw in enemies to take them down, but be careful of the guy on the second floor balcony. Once the two men in the parking lot are dealt with you can head up to the second floor, where you will have an advantage over the rest of the enemies with plenty of environmental objects to hack.

Stealth Route - Getting Your Hands Dirty

The best route to take for a stealth run is to head in from the west parking lot, taking out the enemies on the ground first. You can then move to the southern area by the rear of the building and wait patiently for a guard to come close enough to takedown, followed by his buddy who likes to investigate. You can then head counterclockwise around the building to the beach and take out another guard before heading up to the second level. There are only a few more enemies to deal with now, so take them out quickly.

Aggressive Route - Show 'em What You Got

By now you should be pretty good at aggressive tactics, especially if you got a Spec-Ops gun early. Use the environment to kill enemies or draw them into your line of sight and create a blood bath as you take out the nine men.

Whichever path you choose, make sure to be ready for reinforcements that arrive in the parking lot, one of which is an Enforcer. If you can, kill the final guard by the parking lot to give you a good view of the incoming enemies that is perfect. If not, you will want to be on the second floor so you have a height advantage. Optionally, you can place Proximity IED's in the parking lot near the other cars so that when the enemies arrive they are taken out without worry.

Once all the reinforcements are down your objective will update and you can rescue Jackson in the security room at the top of the building to complete the mission.

Act 2: Planting a Bug

This mission begins in a bar in The Wards, where you can find the Audio File: Iraq 06 on the counter. Head to the Rossi-Fremont Tenement again and enter through the south gate. There are a few enemies to take care of first, but they shouldn't pose much of a threat. After it is clear, head inside the building via the locked door and call Bedbug. Time for another escort quest, this time with Bedbugs.

Bedbug starts by the elevator, with one Viceroy that patrols down the hall and into a tiny alcove with a System Key on the table. Wait for the Viceroy to enter the alcove and then move Bedbug up the hall, quickly activating the next camera and making sure he is on the other side of the crates before the Viceroy leaves the alcove.

Move to the laptop camera and then the camera inside the next room for a better view and then move Bedbug inside against the right wall. Switch cameras so you can see the Viceroy here better and target the opposite side of the desk, closest to the camera, so that when the Viceroy moves right you can move Bedbug behind the desk.

There are two Viceroys in the next room, one of which will never move out of the way without a bit of persuasion. Hack the camera in the next room so that the stationary man is in front of you and look right to find a phone that you can use to attract him. You need to attract the first Viceroy with the phone and then get Bedbug across to the L shaped desk without the Viceroy on the left spotting him. Timing is important, so don't attract the stationary Viceroy until the one on the left is leaving the doorway.

Once Bedbug is safe behind the desk, go back to the previous camera and then hack into the hall and move Bedbug behind one of the piles of sandbags. Scout ahead with the cameras so that you are in the room with the shutter between you and Bedbug and then move him to the doorway.

You can use the phone to attract the Viceroy's attention while Bedbug moves down the hall and then use the shutter to distract him while you move him into the dark hallway, but make sure to quickly change cameras to the laptop and then the next hall and get him against a wall before the Viceroy looks that way.

You can now move Bedbug to the door, which you can hack open, and then access his camera to the next doorway. Once Bedbug stops you'll need to hack the nearby camera and then hack the access point to unlock the door for Bedbug. Dude is a pretty big coward, but I almost feel sorry for him at this very moment. With reinforcements on the way you need to get out of there quick, ideally with a car. Hop in the nearest car and use the usually evade and escape tactics to complete this mission.

Act 2: Way Off the Grid

Head back to The Bunker and meet up with Clara to discuss your next step. Looks like Raymond Kenney might be our next link in the chain, so let's go find him. Head to the new waypoint in The Wards and carefully approach the restricted zone.

Southern Entrance & Upper Balcony

By approaching from the south you can kill the one Fixer in the parking lot and take the stairs to an upper balcony. Here you have an advantage over the enemies or you can hop down the left side to access the computer without a fight.

Western Entrance

There are many different access points from the west side, with only one Fixer patrolling outside. You can either head through the doors on the lower level to go for a stealth run or take the lift up to get a height advantage in a gun battle.

Stealth Route - Quiet Approach

Start at the outer western area and make your way clockwise around the area, taking out the three outside Fixers. You can then enter from the upper balcony and take out the enemy by the computer, leaving only one or two Fixers left to deal with.

Aggressive Route - Fight in the Yard

There are plenty of cover spots in the yard that you can use while taking out the Fixers with headshots, drawing their buddies outside. If you have a Spec-Ops weapon you can enter on either balcony and take out all the Fixers without them even having a clue that something is up, but if not you can also use the balconies for a height advantage in a firefight.

After taking out all the Fixers make sure to grab any crafting items and ammo and then craft up tools. I suggest putting a Proximity IED under the western balcony and possibly the eastern side of the north entrance before you begin the upload to the computer. Once the upload begins you'll need to hold the fort and eliminate all the Fixers.

Due to the aggressive nature of the enemies you will have no choice but to pull out your gun and go on the offensive. If you put down that Proximity IED you will take out a good third of the enemies with the explosive chain reaction and then just have to deal with the stragglers. If you don't have Proximity IEDs then you can throw a standard IED or grenade when the enemies arrive.

Once all the enemies are dead you should make sure to grab all the ammo dropped before you head to the computer to wipe it. You should also prep a truck by the north exit, facing away, so that when you wipe the computer you can sprint for the car.

The Fixer escapes in a fire truck, not the easiest thing to bring down, and you will also have to deal with police scans. As you chase after the culprit on the freeway make sure to Jam Comms the police so you can get out of the area and when he reaches town use the Traffic Lights and Blockers to stop him. If he hops out of his vehicle you can run him over to complete the mission.

Act 3: Hope is a Sad Thing

Before you can accept this mission you must unlock the Pawnee ctOS Center. This can be done earlier in the game or undertaken directly before.

Head to the marina in Pawnee to begin this mission and then cross the street and hack the marina computer. Aiden is getting a bit sloppy, having his intrusion detected, and the password is reset. You need to find two of the four employees that have the password:

NameLocation
Beric, MilanFound on the wharf's right side, at the base of the steps
Hansen, AJSitting on a wharf bench, on the upper jetty
Frickert, SallyStanding by the left jetty near a covered sailboat
Grangeford, LauraOn the upper deck by the restaurant to the east

While getting the password make sure to head into the shed on the eastern side of the fish restaurant to find some crafting supplies and the Audio File: Maurice Vega 04. With the password in hand, hack the marina computer again to learn Kenney's location.

Head to the old ctOS tower in the northern end of Pawnee and hack the cameras. There are multiple doors to unlock in this area, each accessed through the towers many cameras.

Start at the main entrance camera and then move to the first satellite, where you can unlock the front gate. There is an antenna in the main area that moves the dishes when hacked, allowing you to change the camera position and hack more unlocks, which you should hack to move and access another unlock from the first satellite.

Enter the grounds and head down the steps to a locked door and access the camera inside, followed by the junction box to reach a hall with another unlockable gate. Go back upstairs and run to the dish at the back of the area, standing on its walkway, and then hack the antenna to give you access to the other side of the fence. Using the satellites and antenna, make your way to the first yard with the scissor lift and ride it down to access a new basement area.

In the basement, which should be unlocked from earlier, head right to a dead end with a laptop with an email and the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 05. Turn around and head back the other direction and hack the pipes past the locked fence, taking cover, to cause the fence to be destroyed and giving you access to the final unlock. You can now return to the first basement and reach the ctOS box.

Time to catch up with Kenney at Jedediah's Bar in Pawnee. At the bar you'll find a man named T-Bone and get to take part in a drinking game, oh goodie! Your objective is to move the circle onto the button indicators and then press that button...should be easy enough, right? After a bunch of drinking the conversation will move outside for a long scene.

When you gain control again, follow the in game prompts and check out Ray's fun traps. After the conversation ends you should scout the area for crafting items before heading off to get Ray's truck.

There are numerous entrances into the gas station due to its broken down state, but depending on your gear some may be better than others.

Stealth Route - Silent Takedown

For the most part the area is easy to stealth through without militia seeing, if not for the sniper in the water tower and on top of one of the buildings. If you do not have a Spec-Ops weapon, allowing you to shoot the snipers from the ground, then you should enter from the north and climb the tower to take out the major sniper. Leave the restricted zone and head around to the south and climb the ladder to reach the second sniper atop the garage. Once the two snipers are neutralized you can enter from the south and take out the militia in clockwise fashion.

Aggressive Route - Utter Chaos

As long as you take out the snipers first you should have no problem causing chaos as you clear out the enemies.

Escape Route - In and Out

On the flip side it is possible to run in and hijack the silly truck, but expect some resistance if you are seen before jumping inside.

After clearing the area reinforcements will be called in, so hurry up and hop in that taco van and get a move on. You need to either kill or lose the militia on your trail. You don't need to get rid of them before reaching the objective point, in fact you may want to take them there to use Ray's trap to take some of them out. Whatever you choose to do, you will complete the mission once they are gone.

Act 3: A Pit of Paranoia

Head for the Trailhead Campgrounds in eastern side of Pawnee to begin this mission. No matter what vehicle you arrived in I suggest you grab the nearby motorbike for its great handling and best off-roading ability. For the most part you can stick to the main roads of Pawnee during the tail. When needed, you should try some off-roading in the hills to allow you to take major shortcuts and make up any distance. Eventually the helicopter will stop and hover over the Pawnee Trailer Park and your objective will update.

By now I am going to assume you have at least one Spec-Ops weapon and will be doing most of your assaults with stealth via the silencer. This means that I will not longer be offering melee stealth paths or aggressive paths with standard firearms. I will, however, offer alternate paths if there is a way to complete a mission without the means of a weapon.

Why? Well, I am simply getting lazy and a Spec-Ops weapon makes the game so much easier to write for. That's right, I said it!

The Trailer Park has many access points, militia, as well as the helicopter blocking your progress through the camp. The best insertion point is on the west side of the restricted zone, up a path behind the drained pool. Since you need to go in undetected until you spot both security chiefs you should hack the helicopter camera for a better view of the area. With this view you can scout the area by Aiden, which has one militia member on the ground to the north and another on top of two trailers connected by a walkway, where there is also an Audio File: Maurice Vega 05. With the chopper locate the two security chiefs: one near Aiden's position to the left of the connected trailers and another at the back of the park to the south of two Enforcers.

You can now head through the area with either force or stealth, but I suggest you use stealth, with a Spec-Ops weapon, and stay in cover so that the helicopter doesn't spot you and notify the ground enemies.

Start with the closest security chief, who can be taken down when the helicopter is out of view and the militia on the roof is walking away. This will give you a new checkpoint that is great to start at if you are killed or want to return to a stealth run. Once the first chief is down, headshot the sniper on the roof and melee combat the militia to the south by returning to the small road and working your way behind him. Once these three enemies are dead you can make your way south around the area, waiting for the helicopter to pass when needed, and then stop at the van near the entrance to the final chief. Wait for both the Enforcers to head down the path and out into the trailer park before sneaking in behind them and quickly taking down the chief.

Once both of the security chiefs are down you can either escape or finish off the militia to complete the mission.

Act 3: Unstoppable Force

This mission begins outside a pawnshop for a reason, but with 2 standard IED's and a Proximity IED you can finish this mission with ease.

As soon as the mission begins you want to run south to the highlighted path, beating the convoy there. Across the street is a truck that you want to place an IED in front of, on the road so that the truck won't explode, and then place a Proximity IED further along the street (this will cause the lead car to drive over the first standard IED but die to the Proximity IED).

As the convoy arrives you want to hide behind the truck so you can target the standard IED and when the target truck begins to drive over it you want to set it off, DO NOT DO IT BEFORE THE FRONT WHEELS PASS THE BOMB OR IT WILL BE TOO SOON. The lead car will be cleared but the truck as an Enforcer who will pop out, so toss another IED or Proximity IED down to deal with him. This will actually be all you need to do, but if you want to finish off the few enemies left you need to do so fast before they call in reinforcements.

Killing off the enemies or escaping will complete the mission.

Act 3: The Future is in Blume

After beginning the mission and reaching the Blume facility you need to choose a point of insertion into the building. There are three different entrances: the Main Gate and a service entrance on the east and west side, all of which are locked. To unlock the entrances you'll need to hack the cameras and find the correct junction boxes. I suggest entering through the west service entrance, which can be unlocked by hacking into the patrolling guard's hidden camera and accessing the panel as he walks by.

Once inside, you can takedown the guard with the hidden camera with ease. There are two guards patrolling the center area, one around the area close to Aiden's position and one circling the sculpture. Wait for the one patrolling the sculpture to turn away and the nearest one to stop at the planter facing the sculpture and take him down quietly. You can now head along the west side of the area to circle around the guard patrolling the sculpture and take him down. With the area clear, access the console to update the objective.

You can head straight to the box and bring out your Profiler to show the data flows to the ctOS boxes located around the area. Before leaving the cafe area, grab the Audio File: Damien Brenks 09 on one of the tables.

Follow the data flow that goes under the tables and out a back door, quickly taking out the guard hiding by the doorway, and then hug the wall to another guard, who you can either walk up to and take down or if you are cautious you can attract him with the nearby phone first. Watch out for the guy to the southeast, who patrols up and down the east side, and then head inside the fenced area and unlock the first box.

You can take out the guards by the eastern office pretty easily if you wish, but there is no need at the moment. Head back to the west and toward the orange staircase leading up to a set of solar panels. There are two guards here, rather closely together, but you can easily take them out with a Spec-Ops weapon to reach the final box, along with the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 06.

Return to the ctOS access point and hack into the server room where you can upload the virus. While you wipe some important files, including Kenney's, an old friend has arrived at Blume without warning and Aiden decides to check it out...I would too.

Hack into the hidden camera on the guard that walks out of the server room and into a conference area and then hack into the cameras of the conference area to listen in on the conversation. Once the conversation is done you will need to get the hell out of Blume to complete the mission. The best path to take is to head out the back of the cafe and along the east side of the building and out the side service door.

Act 3: For the Portfolio

This mission begins automatically when you reach the waypoint outside Blume at the end of the previous mission. Hop on a bike and rush back to T-Bone's junkyard where a crew of enemies is waiting. Remember all those cool traps that were set up in the junkyard, well it is time to activate them and then take out any stragglers.

Regroup with Kenney and then hang back for a second with your target on the spider trap to your left. As the enemies enter the area for a second wave, activate the spider and hope Kenney didn't take cover to close to it. Take out any leftovers, usually only one militia, and then instead of following Kenney throw two Proximity IED's at the northern entrances.

The next wave will come in from all sides. The Proximity IED's should take care of the majority of enemies that come from the cars to the north, but you should keep an eye on the mini-map and use the four traps to take out the ones that make it by and the ones that arrive from the other directions. Use the traps to take out a majority of the enemies and then finish off the rest with firearms.

Kenney will once again move and another wave will come in. This area is a bit better, in terms of cover, but you only have access to two of the traps. Luckily, one of the traps you have access to is a spider, those babies blow shit up, and you can always use bombs to cover what the other trap misses.

Once all the enemies are dead, regroup with Kenney and head out the back. Take cover here and activate another trap and then deal with the stragglers and the sniper in the distance to clear the area. Now all you need to do is blow the base and follow Kenney to the nearby boat to complete the mission.

Act 3: By Any Means Necessary

Time to finally take on Iraq and get that original file off his computer in the top floor of the Rossi-Fremont Tenements.

Head for the southwest gate entrance, the same gate you entered the last time you infiltrated this place, and with your Spec-Ops weapon. You can take out a majority of the enemies in the open, while moving around the area.

After killing off the main group, work your way around the area to make sure you got everyone and as you reach the entrance take out the two snipers, who apparently didn't learn from their buddies not to stand next to junction boxes. Once the area is clear you can approach the entrance and use Blackout to gain access into the Tenements.

Foyer

There will be two men on the upper balcony and three more arriving from the elevator. Take out the enemies on the upper balcony and then toss a grenade in the elevator when it opens to finish off the other three. You can now ride the elevator up.

8th Floor

As soon as the doors open take cover and eliminate the Viceroy running down the stairs in front of you, but don't stay where you are. Get off the wall and head around the left wall so the two enemies on the right don't cap your ass and then take them out. Grab the ammo off the two Viceroy and hack the panel to unlock the door right next to it. Grab the plethora of supplies inside and get the Audio File: Bedbug 03 before you leave and head upstairs.

9th Floor + Arcade

At the top of the ramp grab the two grenades and take cover so you can take out the two Viceroys on the other side of the area. Head down the hall and enter some crumbling rooms and grab the Audio File: Iraq 07 and then unlock the door. At the hole that leads to the arcade take cover and use IEDs to take out the Enforcer (Frag Grenades like to bounce off the desk and miss). After the Enforcer is gone you should have no problem taking out the rest of the enemies on this floor. In the far corner, where the whole in the ceiling is, stay on the bottom floor and shoot up if possible to kill the two Viceroy above before you head up.

10th Floor

As you exit into the hall and Enforcer will come straight for you, so take cover in the hall to your left and toss down a Proximity IED or standard IED to take him out. Once the Enforcer is gone, use the multiple paths to confuse the rest of the Viceroy and take them out with ease. Continue toward the next waypoint, getting the Audio File: Iraq 08, and then head up two ladders.

12th Floor

Take cover and use the two junction boxes to take out a majority of the Viceroy and then finish off the rest with headshots or bombs. Head down the hall at the back of the pharmacy area and unlock the door for a stock up and the Audio File: Bedbug 01. Take out the last Viceroy, if he wasn't lured down the hall and killed already, and then head for the server room.

As you leave the building Iraq will confront you and you'll need to chase him outside onto the rooftops. Check the area for IED's while the fucker runs his mouth and then take cover by the ammo box near the location you jumped from. The first wave of enemies consists of three Elite enemies with weapons that pack a punch, so don't try and run at them. After them is an Enforcer, which you can't use a melee take down on and takes quite a few IED's and Frag Grenades to takedown. Finally, Iraq will pop his head up and without the ability to use melee combat you'll need to focus on getting in shots where you can and use the ground panels to blow him to high heaven...enough talk!

Act 4: Someone's Knocking

Time to find out what was in that massive data file we got from Iraq's place.

Head back to The Bunker for a scene and Ray will get to work, but not without some difficulty. Unfortunately for us, it looks like some else is hacking The Bunker. You'll need to follow the source to find out who by solving our usual server hack puzzle.

The puzzles are not difficult, but the constant visual glitches and the zoomed out nature means you will have to make sure you are precise when turning nodes, most of which only need one good turn to be aimed the right direction.

After some revelations as to who handed your name over to the men who ordered the hits on Damien and Aiden, The Bunker will be shut down.

Act 4: In Plain Sight

The Disable Helicopter ability is handy in this mission if you want to get the helicopter off your tail, so purchase it if you haven't.

When it becomes clear that you're not gonna give Damien what he wants, he plasters your image all over the town.

Head down the stairs and make your way across the street, with the news van nearby. I find that the best thing to do is to reload until a motorcycle is between you and the van, as it has the speed and the control you'll need. With the motorcycle you should be able to take out the broadcast van quickly with the first Traffic Light and finish the driver off with your gun.

If you miss out on taking out the van on the first light you will have to deal with the police scans while trying to finish off the driver, which makes the tasks of quickly and easily finishing an issue. If this happens, I suggest you simply reload the checkpoint.

No matter what you do, you can't outrun the scans forever, as they will continue to scan you until they track you down through multiple districts. The best thing to do is to rush for Pawnee and use the backroads to lose the police cars and disable the helicopter and get away pretty easily.

Act 4: The Rat's Lair

Time to hit Defalt where it hurts and get back our data. Head to the Brewed Delight coffee shop in Mad Mile to begin the mission and then bring out your Profiler and check the opposite side of the tunnel, facing north. Hack into the access point in a fairly easy puzzle to see what Kenney is up to in Defalt's place, poor guy had to leave the hardware behind.

Take the stairwell nearby up, but not all the way, and access the camera. Quickly access the camera on the other side of the yard and scout the area as you get ready to guide Kenney. Watch the guards and when they aren't looking move Kenney to the left sculpture. You only need to worry about the three guards patrolling the center as you move Kenney along the left side and behind the car to eventually reach the stairwell, which you shouldn't have too much of a problem doing. Optionally you can not bother moving Kenney through the area and head up the stairs to takedown the enemies in silence and then lead Kenney to the exit.

You'll need to escape the area or take out Defalt's Fixers to continue the mission, so decide what you want to do. If you want to evade them, use the standard evasion and escape tactics to get clear. If you want to kill them then you'll need to get somewhere better than the tunnel and plaza area with multiple access areas. I suggest grabbing a car and heading east down the tunnel a little bit to open a garage door, closing it behind you. You can then park sideways on the ramp leading up, hop out and destroy the cars with bombs as they come down the ramp and stop.

Act 4: The Defalt Condition

Nothing like crashing a party at the Ambrose Theater. Head down the small alley by the WKZ van and access the junction box to unlock the side door, allowing you to take the other front door past the pedestrians.

Once inside you will find that Defalt has hacked a few of the partygoer's phones, leaving playful messages for Aiden. Make your way through the party, accessing the profiles of the hack phones and hacking them to trace Defalt's location. Once you have hacked the three phones you'll need to reach the access point via the cameras on the balconies above and solve the rather large puzzles. Don't be overwhelmed and make sure that the timed nodes in the second puzzle are not receiving power and counting down and you'll complete them in no time.

After hacking Defalt's computer the guy will cause a Blackout and you'll need to pursue him on foot. Start running east before the lights even come back on and climb up the boxes to his previous location. After taking a trap to the face, climb the ladder and gather the items as you run after Defalt, you can't catch him so there is no point to ignore the crafting items.

On the roof Defalt's Fixers who want to keep their boss safe. You have a few options, cause a Blackout and run for it, use environment objects to kill the enemies, or go to all out war with your fun weapons. Head down the roofs and when you reach the bottom Defalt will head off in a car.

It is possible to get the Blockers off at the first intersection and stop Defalt before you lose the ability to hack the environment, but most of the time you will fail and when you do manage to do it you may bug the missions and Defalt will be stuck in his car with the "Catch" objective up.

Pick a car that you can handle and keep close to Defalt, watching his brake lights to know when to turn. You also have to watch out for him using the traps on you, such as Blockers, which will slow you down if you get too far behind. Don't worry if you get stopped for a minute because Defalt's driving path circles around and allows you to catch up by taking shortcuts.

Once the download is complete your objective updates and Defalt will no longer drive on a set path. On the plus side, you now have control over ctOS again and can use your hacks against him. It is possible for Defalt to escape and complete this mission...it just depends on how generous you are.

Act 4: Little Sister

Time to rescue baby sister from the Warehouse in Brandon Docks. Head to the access point and hack in to camera on the computer and take out Nicky's guard with the junction box. Now hack the phone for a quick call with sis to let her know you're here. Sis may not know guns but she sure does get a good shot off on the guard that enters.

You have two options for getting Nicky out, guide her with the cameras or go in quietly and clear the area. While going in is my preferred method, enemies will become aggressive and kill Nicky if you are spotted, so this is the dangerous option but it puts you in control of the mission.

If you plan to take out the guards yourself you will want to exit to the north and climb the containers to up to the top floor, where a burner phone with the Audio File: Maurice Vega 06 is on a mattress. Enter when the guard is looking away and take him out and then look down where Nicky is to spot and Enforcer. You can either Lure him to the junction box and explode it or head down the stairs on the other side of the area and work your way around and take him out with a melee hit. With the area around Nicky clear you can head across the bridge and use a Spec-Ops weapon to headshot the Fixers on the ground floor. At the back of the area, on the upper level, is a sniper looking out the window that you'll need to take out to clear the area and then Nicky will escape.

Once Nicky is out you will only need to escape the area.

Act 4: Ghosts of the Past

Head to Yolanda's house in Parker Square and be ready to escape, due to Damien's meddling.

The easiest escape from the police is to head directly north toward the marina. In order to reach the marina you will need to turn left and then right and then head directly north, breaking the railing and heading right over the pier and hop across the water to reach a parking lot. From there you can angle right a bit toward a metal fence and under the highway to a dirt road.

Once on the dirt road you should be able to lose the police and carefully make your way north until you are back on the main roads. From there you can make your way to Pawnee. Once you reach the waypoint in Pawnee the mission will end.

Act 4: No Turning Back, Part 1

Everything comes back to the beginning at the Merlaut Hotel in Mad Mile. As you approach the Merlaut Hotel Clara will call you up and apologize, with hints that she is about to do something monumentally stupid.

Head for the WKZ van and hack the access point to get a view of the charity event on the top of the roof. After the mayor is done with his speech you'll need to hack the cameras on the roof to reach the box on the other side and follow Quinn inside, where he confronts the mayor. Listen in and when they are done access the camera in a nearby conference room and get the Audio File: Lucky Quinn 07 from the laptop inside before you hack the access point to reach the security room.

With the security system shut down it is time to confront Lucky Quinn, but first we need to get inside. There are many entrances to the hotel, but the main lobby if perfectly fine with a Spec-Ops weapon in hand. Start by luring the main lobby door guard by activating the alarm on the nearby cars and then take him down with a melee strike. Once inside you can take cover on the planters in the front of the lobby and start taking out the Elite guards with headshots. Stay where you are and let the guards investigate until the lobby is cleared and then get the Audio File: Malcolm Deodato 07 on the reception desk. You can now take the elevator up to confront Quinn.

As the scene ends Quinn will leave and Aiden's focus will kick in, allowing you to melee strike the guards holding him and then shooting the guard by the door. The guards will converge on Aiden, starting with an Enforcer. Take cover by the door and either set down IED's or wait for the Enforcer to enter for a melee strike, if you have the ability. Once the Enforcer is gone, use the cover outside and start taking out the rest of the guards. Your focus should be on the two snipers, one in the back left and another on the right, followed by the men closest to Aiden. You'll need to get through this area quickly before a helicopter shows up or you can take cover and use Disable Helicopter to allow you some extra time.

Once the roof is clear you can enter the back offices, with some computer emails to hack and the Audio File: Lucky Quinn 08. Enter Quinn's office and move around to his desk with your Profiler out to find a device on the bottom left, which will lead you to Quinn. Go ahead and open the shutters for a little chat and then give him a little shock. So much for impenetrable, bitch!

It's time to make your escape from the Merlaut Hotel. Head out the north door and use Blackout before you jump down the north awning to the front of the building and head north for the docks to grab a boat and escape.

Act 4: No Turning Back, Part 2

This mission begins automatically after escaping the police in the previous mission, or in Parker Square if you quit the mission and pick it up later. Seems like Clara has gotten herself into trouble and you'll need to tie up a few loose ends.

Make your way to St. Joseph Cemetery and once you're kicked out of the car head toward the waypoint on foot to try and reach Clara. So Clara was the one leaving the flowers on Lena's grave all this time; part of her penance maybe.

Unfortunately, you won't make it in time to prevent the hit men from shooting Clara, but you can get some well earned revenge. Equip your strongest machine gun and go to town on the nearest men and then work your way back, killing all nine enemies.

Once it is clear you can approach Clara to complete the mission.

Act 5: Sometimes You Still Lose

Head back to The Bunker for a scene and a final decision on how to end all this mayhem...taking down Damien and ctOS.

Damien has control over ctOS, meaning you will have to contend with the Blockers, Traffic Lights, Steam Pipes, and more. Your objective is to reach the Bower Tower and take down ctOS, but when you get there it the access point's firewall is too strong. Kenney suggests you take down the entire network, but in order to do that you'll need to access three junction boxes across Chicago to upload a virus that will give you access.

Not only will you need to contend with Damien hacking the city to try and stop you, but the cops will also try and track you. Be prepared to use all your Blackouts, Jam Comms, and other tools in an attempt to survive long enough to reach all three locations. You should also think about getting a motorbike or boat to help you avoid the police, making this mission much easier.

Due to the random nature of this mission and how it has you racing across the city in whatever manner you see fit, strategic advice is pretty hard to come by. The best advice I can give is that you keep moving toward your objective, which you should always set a waypoint to so that Damien's scrambler doesn't mess you up, and to use all your skills that you have obtained throughout the game.

If you are close to the next junction box it is worth using Jam Comms, but if you are a decent distance away you might as well let them spot you so you can lose them before the next box. The cops are persistent, but if you use Blackout they will lose track of you pretty quickly. Using these tactics your should be able to get away from the cops and access all three junction boxes, but don't be surprised if you die a few times.

Once all three of the junction boxes have had the virus uploaded to them, and you have escaped the police, you'll need to return to Bower Tower. DedSec offers one last plea, but after everything Aiden's been through it's no surprise he blows them off. Hack into the final access point and shut ctOS down.

While the city reboots in total darkness we can finally track down and finish Damien off. Check your map to find Damien's location at the Windy City Lighthouse and grab a boat to ride out there. The Lighthouse has no defenses, so make your way to the top of the lighthouse for a scene with some QTE's and complete the mission.

Act 5: Guys Like Us

Remember that guy, Maurice Vega?

Well, he still needs to be dealt with and the choice is all yours. No matter what choice you make, you will be able to return to the game and complete any side quests and gather any collectibles you want. Make sure to see the following:

ctOS Centers

In order to have Profiler access in a district of Chicago you will need to hack into the ctOS Center for that district and gain control of the server room. ctOS Centers are usually guarded by a fair amount of guards with heavy weapons, one of which carries the access code to the server room. You can hack the access code and the ctOS server room without ever entering the restricted area, but the experienced gained from taking out the guards makes it worth while to enter on foot.

Pawnee ctOS Center

The Pawnee ctOS center is located on the Bernai Island in the heart of Pawnee with access via the jetties on the northwest, west, south, and east. Depending on which way you ware going to access the center you may take either the west or southern jetty.

The western jetty is lightly guarded, with only two guard at a good distance from the actual dock. The multiple pathways into the center of the island allow you to move around in cover and get off headshot on the enemies with a Spec-Ops weapon.

Although the southern jetty is not great for an aggressive approach, the buildings provide enough cover for you to follow the shore east and then use the camera to hack the data from the guard. You can then hack the cameras until you find the guard in the northeast on a small sandy path. In order to get the guard to head up toward the ctOS center you will need to hack the junction box to create an explosion for him to investigate.

The Wards ctOS Center

The Wards ctOS center is located in the Rossi-Fremont area with high barbed fences to keep people out.

Despite the appearance of being impenetrable, the ctOS center has multiple entrances via the buildings and gaps in the fencing, as well as some low fencing without the barbed wire. The area is small with only a few guards and plenty of environmental objects to help distract the guards. For a fast entrance and exit, pull out a Spec-Ops gun and work your way inside via the main gates.

Brandon Docks ctOS Center

The Brandon Docks ctOS center is the largest of the facilities, surrounding a huge sewage treatment facility, and is one of the more secure locations.

Start at the east gate and open it to draw over the guard and then take him out with a swift melee strike. You can now enter the garage and head upstairs to take out a sniper focusing out the window, giving you a good vantage of the area below. You can use the cameras to mark the enemies and then move around to the southern gate with another guard you can take out with a melee strike. From here you can head north to a set of stairs, near an electronic sign, and take out the final two snipers with a Spec-Ops weapon.

With the snipers gone you can now use the walkways over the vats to reach the main building in the north that has the rest of the guards and access the junction box.

The Loop ctOS Center

The Loop ctOS Center is actually covered in the main mission Act 1: Backstage Pass.

Mad Mile ctOS Center

The Mad Mile ctOS center is on the end of the Navy Pier and is enclosed between two buildings with gates on each side.

While access to the area can be obtained through the lower level, the best entrance is through the scissor lift in the southwest side of the restricted area. From this entrance you can either snipe the enemies with a Spec-Ops weapon from a safe distance or get a good view of the area below before you make your way down the planters and sneak around the area to eliminate the enemies by hand.

Due to the closed in nature of this ctOS center, being caught will result in being surrounded and usually killed. It is best to be stealthy via a sniping spot or aggressive after finding a good cover position. If the guards begin to investigating the upper level where you are located you can always jump back into the scissor lift and use it as cover.

Privacy Invasions

While crossing the city you can intrude into peoples life by hacking into their outdoor router. This will usually earn you cash from a bank account, as well as experience. In order to access a router you will either need to hack multiple junction boxes before being able to access the router or solve a hotspot puzzle.

Rewards:

  • Vespid 5.2 Vehicle (Complete 1 Invasion)
  • Sunrim Vehicle (Complete 5 Invasions)
  • Peephole Trophy/Achievement (Complete all Invasions)

There are total of 30 Privacy Invasions for you to complete.

ctOS Towers

After unlocking the ctOS Centers you will only have a small part of each district uncovered. Similar to viewpoints in Assassin's Creed, ctOS Towers reveal the remaining map, placing markers on important locations and pointing out collectibles and side missions.

Rewards:

  • SMG-11 Weapon (Unlock 1 Tower)
  • Amargosa Turbo Vehicle (Unlock 5 Towers)
  • Clear Signals Trophy/Achievement (Unlock all Towers)

ctOS Breaches

Like ctOS towers, ctOS Breaches become available when you unlock a ctOS Center in a district. These investigations have you hacking into junction boxes in a small area, which can usually be reached on foot, to exploit a breach within a short time period that begins when you hack the first box.

Rewards:

  • System Mangler Trophy/Achievement (Complete all Breaches)

City Hotspots

City Hotposts are sort of like checkpoints located throughout Chicago that can be visited to try and become Mayor. To become mayor, you must visit a location more than anyone else in a 7 day period. While it may seem that there is no point to becoming Mayor, you do earn badges for visiting hotposts and a trophy/achievement to finding them all.

Rewards:

  • Geolocated Trophy/Achievement (Find all Hotspots)

There are a total of 100 city hotspots, all of which are easy to find with a few exceptions:

  • The Raven Building hotspot is located in in The Loop under the Gang Hideout, No Parking
  • The Windy City Lighthouse to the east of The Loop hides a hotspot you may not see due to being off the coast

Audio Logs

Audio Logs are sound files scattered in cell phones and computers all over Chicago. There are a total of 101 files for you to collect, but you only need to collect 10 to unlock all in game items since there is no trophy/achievement attached to them.

Certain audio logs are only available during certain missions and are marked with (*).
